Can you believe it? It's true, we are getting older and want to talk about health as Detailers. There is no better way to do that then eat pizza and drink beer!! Cheers to Community!! Hahaha, so DJ and Marshall sit down to talk about being old, why you should take care of your bodies and some practical ways of doing that. Well guys... we're known to chase a lot of rabbits on our podcast but this is by far one of the most funniest and random podcasts recordings. We all have dreams of making it BIG but how big can you actually be in the auto detailing industry? The 2019 IDA President, Jonathan Munsell was our special guest on this episode. Jonathan's company, Spiffy, has raised $18 Million in capital to grow into a national company with over 250 W2 employees and producing over 20,000 services per week. Jonathan is someone you definitely want to have in your network and the IDA is lucky to have him as their fearless leader. We may have had the most smartest and aggressive detailer on our podcast to date! A valedictorian of his graduating class and lover of a good cider, Dyan Briwn owner of Dylan’s Mobile Detailing! Dylan drops some major knowledge bombs that a lot of start up detailers would greatly benefit from. Some people start out with $50,000 in debt with zero clients. Dylan sold his motorcycle and was able to budget out his start up with only $4,500. Although he’s a young dude, this guys has the gift of strategically starting a business. Marshall and DJ met the Rag Company team at Mobile Tech Expo 2019 in Orlando. Their team came out to our Pint Nigh and had such a blast that they invited us on their Podcast. Seth Goss Episode... What If U Were Hurt & Couldn’t Detail?
Seth Goss, is the founder of Sunnyshine Detailing and was our special guest on this episode. Seth is a very active IDA member who is extremely passionate about the detailing industry. He is a volunteer on two IDA committees and does all he can to give back to the industry. In this industry everything can be going great with consecutive record breaking months until the unseen happens. If you guys haven’t heard Seth Goss’s story then please listen and help donate to his family. Seth recently slipped on ice and broke his wrist which is keeping him from detailing. 2019 The Year of IG Marketing
Looking at a new year for all of us, DJ and Marshall want to discuss the most relevant form of marketing for Detailers for 2019. With out a doubt, that would be Instagram!! So why Instagram? What makes the platform so appealing? What should you absolutely not do on IG? What should you definitely do to maximize your marketing efforts? Instagram is so much more then posting pictures and videos. When done correctly, your marketing efforts can bring in some good revenue streams by setting yourself up as the local detailing expert. Instagram Marketing is so important that we brought on two Detailers that are crushing in on IG to talk about how they do it. First up is Ronald from All Star Mobile Auto Detailing (IG handle: all_star_detail) who came on to talk about "stories" and how he uses them to grow his business. Secondly, Josh from RAD Auto Detailing (IG Handle: RAD_detailing_edmond) came on to talk about his success with "posts." Full Time Firefighters & Full Time Detailers...How can u balance both?
This is a very unique episode as we have two full time firefighters/auto detailers on! Our guests included Mark Elliot of Firehouse Auto Spa in Jacksonville, Florida and Jeremy Loque of Firehouse Detail Maui in Hawaii. Our beers of choice were a couple different beers from Kona Brewery. In this episode we discussed what it is like to operate at full capacity within two different industries. Ashley, daughter of Chris West (owner of Solutions Finish), came on to give some insight on the company and knowledge behind a true plastic restorer. Her boyfriend Nick, who is a beer connoisseur, gave an in depth review of IPAs as well. DJ discussed different uses of dressings and the common things they're used for when covering up certain parts of vehicles. We touch on the upcoming Pint Night at MTE in January as well.
