Today on the show we have John from Gleamfire a revolutionary way to clean your car. [the following is from cleamfire.com] It all started because of founder John Lohavichan's love of keeping his car shiny.Ever since high school, John has washed and waxed his cars by hand. When John moved to New England, winter car washing presented a problem. A hose was out of the question, as his garage had no drain and it was below freezing outside. Using a bucket meant freezing hands, a wet floor and very dirty wash water. He knew there had to be a better way. One day, John was pondering this problem as he fed the fish in his aquarium. And then inspiration struck! The water in the fish tank stays clean because it circulates through filters. If he used a similar approach with car wash water, he reasoned, it would be possible to clean better while using a lot less water. The next day he began experimenting with a discarded soda bottle and Gleamfire was born. 182: Product Review | Dr. Beasley's PlasmaCoat
In this episode we offer you a product review on Dr. Beasley's PlasmaCoat. [the following is directly from Dr. Beasley's website - PlasmaCoat is the first 100 percent VOC free paint sealant, making it consumer safe paint protectant ever created.The end result isn't a wax, and it isn't a poly-sealant, It's plasma. Most sealants need to sit on the paint and haze before removal, and then even after the product is removed it takes 24-48 hours before the product has fully bonded to the paint. PlasmaCoat bonds the instant that it comes into contact with the paint surface. This means no more waiting around or worrying about the rain after you've sealed your car. The other, possibly most important, aspect of PlasmaCoats performance is its sheer durability. Paint sealants usually last about 6-8 months, and waxes only 6-8 weeks. 180: Brother/Sister Detailing Duo | Daniela & Wills
Wills and Daniela are a self taught, brother, sister detailing duo. They are equal owners of Windows and Wheels Auto Detailing. Started detailing as a hobby when they were young teenagers. Turned it into a business 9 1/2 years ago and kept going from there! When they first started our top of the line was a wash and wax with interior (vacuuming and dusting). As they started to gain more business we wanted to provide a better service. Wills went online and found a few detailing forums and started reading everything. He one day decided to invest in a Porter Cable dual action polisher, bought a few pads and polishes. Once they got into paint polishing they decided to document their work. Wills would post wirte ups on those same forums that he read so much on. Basically trying to give back. Sharing their experiences in hopes of helping someone else. From there Wills went on to created the group Detailer Buddies on Facebook. It began with only a few people they knew, but quickly grew to over 1,500 members. They have grown from doing simple wash and waxes to performing multi step paint correction, paint coatings, full interiors, engine detailing, pulling and polishing wheels, to a show car quality level.
