FTC Cracks Down on Deceptive Dealership Pricing: Lindsay Automotive Group Faces Up to $75 Million in Customer Refunds

The FTC and Maryland Attorney General secured a settlement against Lindsay Automotive Group for deceptive pricing practices, with up to $75 million in charges eligible for customer refunds.

More than 88% of customers in a random sample from April 2020 to March 2023 paid more than the advertised price, with most paying over $2,000 more.

"FTC, Maryland Attorney General, secure full refunds and additional penalties against Lindsay Auto Group for deceptive pricing practices and unwanted add-ons. More than 75 million in charges may be eligible for refunds."

A survey found that 38% of Lindsay customers were told they had to use Lindsay's financing to get the advertised price, despite the company confirming to advertising partners that prices were not contingent on financing.

Hyundai Surges: Record Canadian Market Share and Strong U.S. Sales Growth Challenge Ford

Hyundai Canada achieved its fifth consecutive year of record market share in 2025, finishing at 8.1%, and continued momentum into 2026 with an all-time January sales record.

Meanwhile, the Hyundai Group is closing the sales gap with Ford in the U.S. market. A new hybrid Palisade variant hit number one in its segment in January, a first in Hyundai's history.
