I went back to work yesterday. Thinking I was meant to be back

but we're still remote for this one more week.

Okay, because of the u12 Gatos so yeah, I feel Ashley went to work and realized I pulled into the car park.

When there's not a lot of cars here, so time, and then work remotely from home. I was like, I'll spawn and I

felt kind of foolish, but then I was like, this is kind of a win.

Yeah. And you would have been all

dolled up in your work, you know.

Sure. Wasn't too much dolled up

because it was I figured it was sort of still remote teaching from work. So I sort of went a bit more

casuals like, you know, good old casual clothes, Friday kind of scenario. A gold coin.

Probably either for that. No, no.

No over the first gold coin day. We did for casual clothes.

The kids came as casual clothes and the teachers came in this school uniforms fit into yours. No, can you yeah, have you still

got it? Yeah, impressed what made it

look functions in my school uniform.

They had with ways are you Have you I've still got my I got my year 12 hoodie and I've got my thing.

I've still got like a Blazer somewhere.

I mean, I'm like, I'm sort of lucky that I live in Regional Victoria, so not that I've got any fancy cars drive, but I was able to drive somewhere which was really good.

So, I went to talk a over the school, holidays and good, but damn, to the jeans, I mean, what did I drive?

Just my 5n P Pajero, so nothing fancy, but the fact that I was out driving and just getting away, was kind of a really liberating an amazing feeling. So I wish I had something more

sporty-er was kind of dreaming after our last.

The last podcast I was thinking of a Ford Fiesta ST.

Manual, I thought that would be fun.

I'd like to drive one of them after you introduced me to the Maddie, great great, little car. Great little come for you next

day was Here we go. The not all.

So as I was saying to you guys on that show, look it's an affordable Drinker. It's it is not many cars.

Get the Accolade of the actual road test is going by it and that's one of those cars are there.

He went and bought because they were just like a fantastic package, and they handle well, and they're just, they're a massive green fact that car and I guess one of those That's what I was thinking. I thought, gosh, imagine driving

down in one of these. I'd be having a lot of fun.

But anyway, we'll still good to get out.

I was happy with that though. So yeah, you mentioned that

Pajero isn't overly sporty but that does have the Tiptronic transmission, it does that across to the left and you can tell the car when those gears are going to change.

I have been known to do that on numerous times especially when I get into hilly country. That's right.

If that's not a sports car. I don't know what is.

I mean, you know I can't Been real driver.

Put it in all-wheel-drive affecting isn't it affects?

It's got a rear spoiler, it does.

It's got tinted glass or factory privacy glass.

You sent me a picture of a refurbished or res, ticket scrambling to try and think of something I did actually do.

But we did do that. We put the one of the finishing

touches on the Grand Prix. Addition Civic with some

remanufactured stickers to go on the little plinth.

That's on the front guard. Luckily not surprisingly.

Given the amount of tap that I have in my garage.

I actually had some key rings of the pleat that is all the size of the key ring is actually what they used obviously for the Badgers because it's exactly the same size.

The we were able to take a scan off that keyring just from photo good. Good photo and get the made, so

it just looks perfect on it. So, just for the listed, we're

talking about only the Grand Prix addition Civic on the front two panels had this little rectangular sticker.

And what does it say? David on it.

It says Honda F1 Grand, Prix addition.

I think is what it seems. So, contrary to what's happening

with on that they're pulling out of F1.

Yes, interesting that So what what we talked about is on the Sunday show, they want to reduce their carbon footprint.

I'm like that is the biggest load of crap.

made a point on Sunday before the weather turned bad and actually starting 3 scamp's and driving them within the five kilometer area that I could and got all up to running temperature. Actually ended it in the log

book and did the whole proper it all by the rules and they all started beautifully and drove sweet as a nut.

So I thought well, that's good. They haven't suffered too much

from lockdowns, so much as hear owner.

Anyway, it recently being serviced during your service month, they they they were yes, yes, I just wanted to make think sure. Everything was flowing nicely.

I think I'll think I need to change the auto tranny fluid in the 600 that hasn't been changed for a couple of years, but it Done many miles and some of us but no harm in changing it anyway, order a tranny fluid seems, if it's not leaking they do seem to you'll get a longer life out of that and you will engine oil. I believe true like it breaks

down less slower. Yes.

Yeah. Well pretty much a lot of it's

pretty much. The same stuff is power steering

fluid and you don't really change that often so yeah.

Oh yeah. It's up to here on the Earth.

People come into super cheap or time and they'll be like, oh I need some power steering fluid. On my gosh, it's a specific one

which is just like the type of oil that you have to give them.

And many of us was had a super cheap with customers or like, why do I have to pay three dollars more?

If it's it's just what it is. I'm you can perfectly.

You can get you can go for I'm not, but don't complain at me.

I was down in Richmond today and saw some interesting cars within the space of very few minutes. So you got it.

You got to take the photos where you can one was an Aston Martin Lagonda from. So that we will that they are an

ugly car all day. Yes.

On every level I do not like them bit of it.

So hideous, we we've had the discussion over the car so V is that it's sort of cool. Like it's, it is sort of cool in

a very awful way and half meters long, do you remember?

Oh, it was like something from outer space, it landed and they did a big release in the UK. It was somewhere like it bewley

down in The south of England at the Lord montagu's huge property there with a big car museum is and everything and all the Press assembled and all that, and drove this thing out and heading into the middle of the the presentation and it actually stopped preceded it. And then he would not restart

and was tracked away from the past.

In Mary Street Richmond, just around the corner, most beautiful condition, but the cutest little car I think smaller than the Scamp it was really funny.

That's no good because my dad used to drive them back in his country in Palestine and he's pleased to drive them all time and he's like that way everywhere.

They used to race them their lives to Rally them and everything was I was like awesome little car.

I remember I was playing Gran Turismo 4.

I'll probably like 15 years ago and and it was one of the cards you could you could buy. So I was like I'll buy them and

then it came up on the screen that my dad walked into.

To most playing the game. He's look like to draw them all

the time. Like, what are these?

He's like, yeah, we want to Bianchi like, okay, I don't even know what it was. He's like, yeah, he's a good

little car. I'm like, yeah, fair enough.

And then I spoke one my cousin James, who's obviously really close. He's dad's obviously very close

with my dad and they used to drive the crap out of it.

And tell me some stories at that of of these cars and he's like, they'd love to find Some really big ones and just just drive them here, but they're very few and far between.

You don't really find them often and they Club.

This guy had a sticker for a Bianchi club or bianchini club or something honest. Do so they need to fit somehow.

I don't know much about them in that instance together if I had a model, a majorette model of a little red or two Beyond chi in the 80s, I think it's a newer shape when you saw obviously, but it I seem to remember it. Was it something feared on the

grill, or underneath? And it was it's a reek of fear.

And there was an actually an air bath about version as well of that lady one. That looks kind of like skoda V.

I did do a little bit of driving because we equal needed to be moved due to a property settlement.

So I did a bit of Towing on Saturday and that caused me to be near my other place of. Residents and that caused me to

be tempted to go to the local shop in the 190 diesel because it was there covered in dust. And I thought after two and a

half months, will it start the little pig tractor?

And it did without any assistance, David took costs due to course, did what ever in doubt, never very easily knots that being to half months? Could be completely dead in the

battery. Did me aside struggled a bit.

The battery was low. There's no question about that.

You know, I glow plugged it twice and it was and then it just wanted it and I was like good little tractor.

Okay, took it for a run. I didn't wash it or hose or

anything. It's covered in dust that I just

gave it a quick run. And I was like, oh I can't wait

till I can drive this car a further distance, then the shop.

That's it was like a barn. Fine, that's what we said.

It's like you've got your own Barn, fine, but it's your staff.

Your opening the garage. Don't wash it.

It's worth more as it is now than it would be great.

Just so that was my fun, miniature drive and then very quickly over so it's an honor you know I put the new club Reggio sticker onto the taroko windscreen That's always fun you another 45 days edible. But that was I mean that needed

to be sent to you David because of the car club signatures and then sent back so you can you can do it that way now and you can pay online but you do have to keep the receipt that Pixley.

You as a proof that you've paid it.

If you get pulled over here, you actually get an approved receipt email to you don't think it's a proper separate thing.

That you print in them and then you just have to keep it in the glove box in case the cops want to see you like that.

Now and you can actually scan them, I'll accept them as scan so you can you can scan you your renewal or send it to one of the people who can sign it via email.

So about a week later, I got it in the mail.

And was ready to go. So that's a so that worked out

quite well. Come on for my characters.

Nothing else, exciting. My wheels there on the car they

look good or estimate Williams. First the wheels came a good

clean to them. Now that's why I got the picture

up on the G. Yo drop in the granular that

they all have nice and clean actually suits.

more every time I see what the car but I ordered some of these pre lockdown. to make it all matching with my steering wheel

and if you can see but Jake, is that a hammer of the handwriting matches with the So it's actually nice sitting in

a car that's got all the touch points like nice and new and neat because like because like the other things we touch every Dynasty ruled again up. You know she's doing well,

handbrake all feels like you're in a 2024 stuff.

I think if I'm not mistaken there acrylic paint back then that wasn't amazing. I'm a quote me on that good

He used to like to drive and still doesn't occasion quite close. He's a very good driver.

But used to like to drive quite close to other cars because he's like, they're not letting me in fine and he would just skin close to them. And one time he pinned his

mirror on the passenger side against another car that was trying to merge, you know, because they were doing the wrong thing in his eyes anyway. So he's Miura flying off into

the scenery needed to get a new dark blue.

I need a blue mirror from a VR Kelly.

Yeah go goes out. The back comes back with this

like light blue mirror and he's like I'm he's a blue one.

is it had this light sky-blue mirror on a doctor we don't own.

Well my uncle was a cabbie for 20-odd years.

And he always used to come home with that with the latest Falcon that was, you know, that was that was his thing.

And I remember he after about six months to a year, the steering wheels from all the cabbies overdrive.

The carriers are just pick him because that they would like that. They just pick at him and a 10.

Yeah, it's poured. Just don't we just pick it and

then every time I don't pick the steering wheels.

Lucky right. And my uncle is that too.

Wait State might stop picking at the lobes on the see my uncle used to be pissed because it's like every time you drive it was always nice and clean and neat. And then you give it to like the

other two guys or whoever driving them again, and come back and just trashed. And so, every every year he'd

going by new wheel and be like, whoa, this is feels good.

Yeah, six months later, he nearly stopped by him because he's like, he's like, the people that drive these cabbage, don't do not care. They did it.

the frame of the wheel. Wow, this is like dogs have been

chewing. Its tiny.

Look at the mat the driver's side mat.

It's just very stressful especially when my uncle was the type of guy. For me, at least.

So that is it for my car that I haven't really done anything else, to be honest, I mean that came in today and I was like, well it's excited I even forgot I ordered it's been that long but there you go Christmas for him Eddie it's in this day and age. Yeah, definitely.

Tonight's topic though is things that we can that we could never afford and if we don't think about this topic because it's a topic that we always come back to occasionally here in the on the show. But with the recent price hikes

of just everything Japanese sports car is related.

Stupidity. What are some attainable cars

that like, I've been like where your dream car and now that are quite attainable and what would you go for and why?

Good question and good question. I didn't know there was the why

deny to explain myself? It was going to find you.

So I could use a off a list of dream cars that people can now afford, maybe. Okay.

Well, we'll make it rain, Make It Rain, Make It Rain.

Look, I never liked them when I actually first came out and I always, I mean, they were known as the poor man's Porsche.

But then years ago, when I was working in the hospitality industry, my boss Had one of these and hearing him talk about and then seeing it in the flesh, I started to like this car.

A lot more in a, which is a Porsche Boxster, S.

He also had an older 911, but he actually preferred the Boxster S. He said it handled much better

being a mid-engined car and I grew dark really like the design of it actually grew to really like the shape of these to see it parked at the back of the workshop.

So yeah, looking at the I think that 986 from memory.

Yeah. I think they're becoming quite

attainable. Look.

You know, you can pick one up in between 30 and 50.

Like a really nice example, you can get some lower than that, and I just think they're considering where Porsches have gone, especially with the 911s just going crazy, especially the older ones, just going through the roof, which I think are great cars, but you're paying so ludicrous money for him.

I wouldn't be surprised if these was starting to creep up with that Porsche badge. And just the fact they've got

that great motor, great drive, you know, real driver's car.

So that was our one of the ones on my list.

You talking the first shape, Boxster?

Yeah, yeah. First and second, even like

what? The first one said be like, oh,

they called me, you know, what are your, the egg headlights or whatever he likes? Yeah.

And then the second one's got a bit more rounded, but I really like them. I just actually think they're

quite a Sleek design. I think they're sort of stood,

the test of time, but when I first came out, I thought now ugly don't like him, but I look for now, I'm going now, they're a cool-looking sportscaster. The only thing we don't like

about them is Scotty and I don't like is that Center pujol exhaust, you know, because it's not the box says that Central It goes inside, but I like to the Boxster, the S version has two pipes coming out the middle as opposed to the one Center like a bunk bed, a little bit better drive behind it.

You know, you've got the ship one, no pun intended because they really cool. I had came in on my list as well

because those ammonia came in Very pretty looking car.

A bit of a hairdresser reputation, I suppose like the Boxster, but, but everyone who's driven one is like, wow, they are so beautifully, balanced and a really, really good drive.

And you still getting a flat-six engine and all those lovely Port, DNA elements but I looked at Caymans today and in the 40s, you can get a really nice low mileage.

Beautifully kept came in the 40s and I'm like, that's you know that's that's a lot of car really, if you Where else do you get a Porsche with all those attributes or car like this with that pedigree for that money? You don't?

That's right. Well, I think that's great

buying I mean boxes original boxes are under 20 grand but I'm assuming that's for the sheet 1. Yeah, that's been like the

two-point sevens. Yeah.

Which is 2. Yeah, I figured, if you're going

to do it, you'd go, the three-pointer, you just as well go all out like you're not you want it to be a real driver's car. I mean I was tossing some boxes

go for Around the 10 grand mock. Look, they're like early early

ones with the small engine, and the automatic is, but that's probably why they're a bit cheaper than the manuals, but yeah, Caiman. Or even like a, like a but I

mean, they're pretty much the same card.

They are the same color, just just without the roots, without the roof. Oh, I believe.

They were in the same platform either, Boxster, basically, exactly. Yeah.

And yeah, so I from all what I've read and stuff.

And yeah, I've known, I've never driven a box.

That or it came in. But for maybe one that says

they've had one, they like, they are awesome to drive, and they are like, you know, they're there again just, um, just a, just a great package or all pull together, my panel beaters.

He's always, he's actually quite interesting calculation.

Okay, he's just got some weird interesting things like an 850, you know, BMW BMW V12. Yeah, a real crook.

He's got, he's got two of those actually.

He bought the poor about the 50 when I was like six months old I like he's got some real, got some real cool cars and he always he always like I never had as much fun as I do in any kind except except in the box that like it's like it's like it's two layers and he's got he's got like you know again like a hsv's and all sorts of things and he's like it's like this cause it's the most fun car.

He's got the drive, I drove one of the original box I'm shooting it would have been. He rejoined would have been

about 2009. And when they launched the BMW

Z4, the second shape, I think well, yeah.

I'm pretty sure I went to the, yeah, I went to launch up in Queensland and they had a heap of like add an S, okay?

A Boxster, the Z4, a couple of other competitor cars that I don't remember. It might have been a Nissan 370Z

something like that, but driving the Boxster around track was it was evidently a very balanced car.

Like I enjoy driving it never on the day was like, yeah there's the Porsche has got some credentials.

Yeah miss the bit. Behind the curve.

I by the time I aspire to certain cars if any has already bottomed out and it's on the rise again because again, like Angus, I never really liked them and they come out but I really grew to like them with a 928. Mmm, they could be had for next

to nothing, I'm years ago. I mean, Yep.

Giving away anything like 12 Grand.

Oh under 10. I'm yeah.

Yeah, being under 10. Yeah.

But frightening from a maintenance point of view the minute. Yeah.

Goes wrong on them. And that from my point of view,

working on the interior as was always appalling.

They're always hard to get in and out of, and actually, physically actually do anything to them inside.

But on song, I think they're pretty an awesome.

Awesome bit of kid. All right, in front of the

manual to really rare to find it like a little more automatics.

Yeah. It's right, it's right.

And I remember that every fifty sixteen, eighty thousand dollar cap, the auto transmissions in them have a rubber sort of boot thing, like it and you. Yes, I thought it looked funny

having a on the order. I might have.

Yeah, he got to drive on for a while and we used to go in a bit of remember, so you look at the ass.

I'm gonna, this looks pretty like, again at aged.

Well, I thought David, but the interior got in, you went now, this is an old car just thought of mercs of the similar era.

Their interior tended to aged really well, where this was just like, I'm sure of the time, it looks pretty amazing.

But yeah, that was one thing about kind of let it down a bit, big creaky in the body you know those little bit cranky.

I mean bunch of I saw in the 70s.

Did they like though? They're quite an old car.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's the first ones we got ya.

So, and so and they had that they had a Toledo Wheels Through I think. And yeah, they think all of them

had Brown interior as well. With everything was just Brown

Bieber and Berber wasn't it. Yeah.

Oh yeah. That different models had

different different trims. I think you're going to order a

different, a couple of different different materials but yeah, one of them was was a Berber. A type of fabric, you can

actually repair with chimaera, SLE cloth and no one in no, very, very another. One of Gordon Farkas has

a bigger bite, pick apart. I always thought the 91 like a

later, 928 in a manual. Apparently, like a really quite

a good kind of drive because they got that whole, that whole package, right? I mean, is war and they got the

longest sort of look at our lights.

Yeah. That curved around the body and

I think I won the first time I saw it.

I was like this is a Porsche like what like what like because I was so used to seeing like you your quintessential 911s and stuff like that. I think I had Grand plans are

Because in the Peloton was instilling to well, it wasn't that the that's right. That's right.

Yeah. So those going front engine to

make it cheaper and sort of thinking this is where I was going to go over. It's interesting.

They tried to continue that with the nine.
