Yeah, in the Cape of like a Citroën DS, you know, that was like a spaceship in 1955 and that got launched, but that went on to be one of the most successful animated as of all the time, you know? Oh, this is a pretty. This one didn't probably bit more of a budget behind Citroën than Aston Martin. Maybe I'm a bit more reliable"

A spirit up, 120 Grand, I was like, that's just Insanity for an RX-7 so concerning the same, my tote it was an RX-8. No, I said was different or excite had the and then turbo and the registers that are accessible quite a quite a fib."

"And all, there was some tough questions in there tonight, actually some rules some real tough. He's but Mazda, MX-5 essay in SPSS, quite quite rare now. Even really, you'll see more expensive Citroen SM, I really like those cars. I think they're just a quirky"

Welcome to Castle Tuesday, show. I'm a DJ online with Ed David,
and Back Again, Angus for what's happening, gentlemen.
That's a good thing. How's everything been going?
Hopefully we're out of this very soon, fingers crossed.
Anyway, I'd be good to just go for a drive because I'm Keen to go for a drive. I guess your have.
You started back at work today? I oh, yes moment.
I went back to work yesterday. Thinking I was meant to be back
but we're still remote for this one more week.
Okay, because of the u12 Gatos so yeah, I feel Ashley went to work and realized I pulled into the car park.
When there's not a lot of cars here, so time, and then work remotely from home. I was like, I'll spawn and I
felt kind of foolish, but then I was like, this is kind of a win.
Yeah. And you would have been all
dolled up in your work, you know.
Sure. Wasn't too much dolled up
because it was I figured it was sort of still remote teaching from work. So I sort of went a bit more
casuals like, you know, good old casual clothes, Friday kind of scenario. A gold coin.
Probably either for that. No, no.
No over the first gold coin day. We did for casual clothes.
The kids came as casual clothes and the teachers came in this school uniforms fit into yours. No, can you yeah, have you still
got it? Yeah, impressed what made it
look functions in my school uniform.
They had with ways are you Have you I've still got my I got my year 12 hoodie and I've got my thing.
I've still got like a Blazer somewhere.
There's a crab equalizer named on the wall behind you next to them Jalan. Can't premieres I do, it should
be, it should be right there, that's his brother's place.
That's Luke is posted. That's my poster.
This is his room Luka. Okay, all rooms dick.
Dad is bulldogs, and is to actually interested.
I had to kind of, I mean, I spoke about this on the show before but I had to kind of like make this My own and not have looked a lot be looking at that constantly and instead have just hard doing with the camera. This so had to had to be some
Geelong flare into it. Even display of miserable game
last week, but that's that we talked about we show, it's not the food is yummy. David River.
I love mommy will jump straight into it for some carp dates.
What have we done over the last week in a bit?
And when you guys been up to, I'll start.
I mean, I'm like, I'm sort of lucky that I live in Regional Victoria, so not that I've got any fancy cars drive, but I was able to drive somewhere which was really good.
So, I went to talk a over the school, holidays and good, but damn, to the jeans, I mean, what did I drive?
Just my 5n P Pajero, so nothing fancy, but the fact that I was out driving and just getting away, was kind of a really liberating an amazing feeling. So I wish I had something more
sporty-er was kind of dreaming after our last.
The last podcast I was thinking of a Ford Fiesta ST.
Manual, I thought that would be fun.
I'd like to drive one of them after you introduced me to the Maddie, great great, little car. Great little come for you next
day was Here we go. The not all.
So as I was saying to you guys on that show, look it's an affordable Drinker. It's it is not many cars.
Get the Accolade of the actual road test is going by it and that's one of those cars are there.
He went and bought because they were just like a fantastic package, and they handle well, and they're just, they're a massive green fact that car and I guess one of those That's what I was thinking. I thought, gosh, imagine driving
down in one of these. I'd be having a lot of fun.
But anyway, we'll still good to get out.
I was happy with that though. So yeah, you mentioned that
Pajero isn't overly sporty but that does have the Tiptronic transmission, it does that across to the left and you can tell the car when those gears are going to change.
I have been known to do that on numerous times especially when I get into hilly country. That's right.
If that's not a sports car. I don't know what is.
I mean, you know I can't Been real driver.
Put it in all-wheel-drive affecting isn't it affects?
It's got a rear spoiler, it does.
It's got tinted glass or factory privacy glass.
That is, does a leather steering wheel?
Does it deliver something approaching?
These are all Hallmarks of a sports car?
It's a listen GTR. Let's be honest.
You can choose between a little bit between real driving foot in there and you know, and all wheel drive sir.
We will drop it. You couldn't have it as all job,
but after 40, that's pretty young.
I had a sideways before. I mean, that's pretty in that
car. It's a again.
You should just put a GTR badge in it and this in bags in the front, Okay, I would, I wouldn't tell I wouldn't be able to so I don't know where you guys are. So well, at least you got away
and rubbed it in to us, which is, which is nice.
Yeah. Sorry about that.
What sir? Yeah, good in anything actually.
That's it. I just think so many people just
be happy to drive whatever they can drive just to be able to drive again. God, that'd be yeah, we good.
Good for a lot of people soon. Hopefully, definitely David
anything up, anything new with you.
You sent me a picture of a refurbished or res, ticket scrambling to try and think of something I did actually do.
But we did do that. We put the one of the finishing
touches on the Grand Prix. Addition Civic with some
remanufactured stickers to go on the little plinth.
That's on the front guard. Luckily not surprisingly.
Given the amount of tap that I have in my garage.
I actually had some key rings of the pleat that is all the size of the key ring is actually what they used obviously for the Badgers because it's exactly the same size.
The we were able to take a scan off that keyring just from photo good. Good photo and get the made, so
it just looks perfect on it. So, just for the listed, we're
talking about only the Grand Prix addition Civic on the front two panels had this little rectangular sticker.
And what does it say? David on it.
It says Honda F1 Grand, Prix addition.
I think is what it seems. So, contrary to what's happening
with on that they're pulling out of F1.
Yes, interesting that So what what we talked about is on the Sunday show, they want to reduce their carbon footprint.
I'm like that is the biggest load of crap.
I've ever met. It's not profitable.
That's why that's why I think it has huge carbon footprint Lee.
Don't make cars make friggin paper planes and or you know breed and breed butterflies if that's what you want to do.
What's a little? Honda F1 racing team.
World Grand Prix. Yeah, so if the top tip if ever
Our listeners. Come across an old mid-80s Civic
and they're not sure what it is. You know.
Look for that little click on the one of the five, there wouldn't be many left are individually.
Numbered I were it's actually got a badge on the dashboard with the with the number in it as well.
So one of them is a I think it's 49.
I think for early in the run that makes it more valuable indeed indeed. It was a.
I wish it was elected to g 2 digit, number plate.
Imagine what? It'd be.
Well, someone cheated posts on. He was one of the Garden State
plates or one that wasn't going to take place.
It was one of the number plate guys on Instagram last week.
Shared a photo of a Honda HRV with a two digit number plate.
Victoria number plate? Well that's what 750-thousand
dollar number plate, something like that.
Yeah, something like that. Yeah, on a hunter HIV.
Be on a couple of thousand dollar Honda Walker.
Oh no. I didn't, you know, it was a new
HIV. I knew one.
Sorry, I'm sorry. The only other thing I did was I
made a point on Sunday before the weather turned bad and actually starting 3 scamp's and driving them within the five kilometer area that I could and got all up to running temperature. Actually ended it in the log
book and did the whole proper it all by the rules and they all started beautifully and drove sweet as a nut.
So I thought well, that's good. They haven't suffered too much
from lockdowns, so much as hear owner.
Anyway, it recently being serviced during your service month, they they they were yes, yes, I just wanted to make think sure. Everything was flowing nicely.
I think I'll think I need to change the auto tranny fluid in the 600 that hasn't been changed for a couple of years, but it Done many miles and some of us but no harm in changing it anyway, order a tranny fluid seems, if it's not leaking they do seem to you'll get a longer life out of that and you will engine oil. I believe true like it breaks
down less slower. Yes.
Yeah. Well pretty much a lot of it's
pretty much. The same stuff is power steering
fluid and you don't really change that often so yeah.
Oh yeah. It's up to here on the Earth.
People come into super cheap or time and they'll be like, oh I need some power steering fluid. On my gosh, it's a specific one
which is just like the type of oil that you have to give them.
And many of us was had a super cheap with customers or like, why do I have to pay three dollars more?
If it's it's just what it is. I'm you can perfectly.
You can get you can go for I'm not, but don't complain at me.
If anything goes wrong. I don't know.
Volkswagen, they make the rules. So yes.
Yes, Kickin can relate to that. Mr. Prince.
Anything else on the updates frontal?
That's pretty much it. Oh, the only thing I've taken
some photos of cars. The last two days for work.
I was down in Richmond today and saw some interesting cars within the space of very few minutes. So you got it.
You got to take the photos where you can one was an Aston Martin Lagonda from. So that we will that they are an
ugly car all day. Yes.
On every level I do not like them bit of it.
So hideous, we we've had the discussion over the car so V is that it's sort of cool. Like it's, it is sort of cool in
a very awful way and half meters long, do you remember?
Mr. Prince, when they were launched, I do.
If I know know, what were your thoughts when that car has Lon?
Oh, it was like something from outer space, it landed and they did a big release in the UK. It was somewhere like it bewley
down in The south of England at the Lord montagu's huge property there with a big car museum is and everything and all the Press assembled and all that, and drove this thing out and heading into the middle of the the presentation and it actually stopped preceded it. And then he would not restart
and was tracked away from the past.
Success of starts in life that car.
Now that you mention it, I think I did read that in a magazine somewhere. Yeah, there were likes.
Nothing else. You know, like that have been
released? This huge thing of excess about
five and a half meters long or something there.
Maybe I'm a bit more reliable
to. Yeah, just just, just just a
little bit. And this thing was brown to
metallic Brown. The Magnolia leather with the
brown piping. If you're going to go that ugly
you may as well just go the whole hog.
I mean as you said it's that bad, it's almost good.
Yeah. Drive literally around the
corner and there was a something I'd never seen before and I had to Google it to find out what it actually is on you as an auto Bianchi. Yes.
Turns out to 1960 to be uncia. I don't know what be, she is.
No no, this is just a little workshop.
In Mary Street Richmond, just around the corner, most beautiful condition, but the cutest little car I think smaller than the Scamp it was really funny.
That's no good because my dad used to drive them back in his country in Palestine and he's pleased to drive them all time and he's like that way everywhere.
Like you like there was such a cool little kind.
They used to race them their lives to Rally them and everything was I was like awesome little car.
I remember I was playing Gran Turismo 4.
I'll probably like 15 years ago and and it was one of the cards you could you could buy. So I was like I'll buy them and
then it came up on the screen that my dad walked into.
To most playing the game. He's look like to draw them all
the time. Like, what are these?
He's like, yeah, we want to Bianchi like, okay, I don't even know what it was. He's like, yeah, he's a good
little car. I'm like, yeah, fair enough.
And then I spoke one my cousin James, who's obviously really close. He's dad's obviously very close
with my dad and they used to drive the crap out of it.
And tell me some stories at that of of these cars and he's like, they'd love to find Some really big ones and just just drive them here, but they're very few and far between.
You don't really find them often and they Club.
This guy had a sticker for a Bianchi club or bianchini club or something honest. Do so they need to fit somehow.
I don't know much about them in that instance together if I had a model, a majorette model of a little red or two Beyond chi in the 80s, I think it's a newer shape when you saw obviously, but it I seem to remember it. Was it something feared on the
grill, or underneath? And it was it's a reek of fear.
It may be your skin. It's jointly made by Bianchi
Pirelli and Fiat. There you go.
And there was an actually an air bath about version as well of that lady one. That looks kind of like skoda V.
Swag and you know, ought to be. Yeah, yeah yeah.
Here you go top tipping ago called little cars.
Do like that? They're very cute, aren't they?
David? Yeah.
It was a really unusual and and this one was a really meaty sort of green color with. There's a really cool looking
car with a very nice tobacco. Sort of interior.
So it was it was it was absolutely Immaculate knee, I like that. I had to stop and take some
photos of that too. For essential purpose is, of
course. That's that's that's that's
exactly what we do Eduardo. What am I done?
I did do a little bit of driving because we equal needed to be moved due to a property settlement.
So I did a bit of Towing on Saturday and that caused me to be near my other place of. Residents and that caused me to
be tempted to go to the local shop in the 190 diesel because it was there covered in dust. And I thought after two and a
half months, will it start the little pig tractor?
And it did without any assistance, David took costs due to course, did what ever in doubt, never very easily knots that being to half months? Could be completely dead in the
battery. Did me aside struggled a bit.
The battery was low. There's no question about that.
You know, I glow plugged it twice and it was and then it just wanted it and I was like good little tractor.
Okay, took it for a run. I didn't wash it or hose or
anything. It's covered in dust that I just
gave it a quick run. And I was like, oh I can't wait
till I can drive this car a further distance, then the shop.
That's it was like a barn. Fine, that's what we said.
It's like you've got your own Barn, fine, but it's your staff.
Your opening the garage. Don't wash it.
It's worth more as it is now than it would be great.
Just so that was my fun, miniature drive and then very quickly over so it's an honor you know I put the new club Reggio sticker onto the taroko windscreen That's always fun you another 45 days edible. But that was I mean that needed
to be sent to you David because of the car club signatures and then sent back so you can you can do it that way now and you can pay online but you do have to keep the receipt that Pixley.
You as a proof that you've paid it.
If you get pulled over here, you actually get an approved receipt email to you don't think it's a proper separate thing.
That you print in them and then you just have to keep it in the glove box in case the cops want to see you like that.
Now and you can actually scan them, I'll accept them as scan so you can you can scan you your renewal or send it to one of the people who can sign it via email.
Okay? That's been printed often sign
it and scan it in it, except that well, do that okay, that's good to know because I've got another one there, waiting with an October November is my heavy couple of months for Club Bridger and His heart. Yeah, other with my the bends
and the LTD. I paid them on the same day at
the club and they always like I paid my quilt Club renewal fee the like are you know? We can we can actually just do
it for you. And like you just pay here will
give you a receipt of. If you paid us here, we'll send
it off. And then they'll send you back
in the mail. Your stick assigned with the
with everything on my car. Sweet.
So about a week later, I got it in the mail.
And was ready to go. So that's a so that worked out
quite well. Come on for my characters.
Nothing else, exciting. My wheels there on the car they
look good or estimate Williams. First the wheels came a good
clean to them. Now that's why I got the picture
up on the G. Yo drop in the granular that
they all have nice and clean actually suits.
The car. I wish you'd like him more and
more every time I see what the car but I ordered some of these pre lockdown. to make it all matching with my steering wheel
and if you can see but Jake, is that a hammer of the handwriting matches with the So it's actually nice sitting in
a car that's got all the touch points like nice and new and neat because like because like the other things we touch every Dynasty ruled again up. You know she's doing well,
handbrake all feels like you're in a 2024 stuff.
I do it does it really does stand back stand back and admire the excellent studies. My party that is another top
tip. Like if you've got a car that's
done five hundred eighty nine thousand clicks like an ex Taxi.
Spy brand new steering wheel from Ford or have it related replace the gear shifter doesn't matter because I'm not a again.
It's a that's crazy. An idea really nice
and was routed on it, like a lot of those VR Kelly's it was We optimized and they weren't great paint from the get-go.
I think if I'm not mistaken there acrylic paint back then that wasn't amazing. I'm a quote me on that good
anyway after that the paint quality got a lot better but he he just polished the driver's side of the Bonnet because he goes that's all I can see when I'm driving.
So let me set the are behind the wheel and look nice and shiny from your Vantage Point. I said you are not well you and
that's all. It's all I matters.
Edward, that's all that matters. And I'm on my concern.
He used to like to drive and still doesn't occasion quite close. He's a very good driver.
But used to like to drive quite close to other cars because he's like, they're not letting me in fine and he would just skin close to them. And one time he pinned his
mirror on the passenger side against another car that was trying to merge, you know, because they were doing the wrong thing in his eyes anyway. So he's Miura flying off into
the scenery needed to get a new dark blue.
Era. So it goes to the Holden Rica.
I need a blue mirror from a VR Kelly.
Yeah go goes out. The back comes back with this
like light blue mirror and he's like I'm he's a blue one.
Is it this blue? Yeah so B it puts it up and it
is it had this light sky-blue mirror on a doctor we don't own.
That's the rest of the time here.
Wow. Okay.
Well my uncle was a cabbie for 20-odd years.
And he always used to come home with that with the latest Falcon that was, you know, that was that was his thing.
He was, he's going below this Falcon.
And I remember he after about six months to a year, the steering wheels from all the cabbies overdrive.
The carriers are just pick him because that they would like that. They just pick at him and a 10.
Yeah, it's poured. Just don't we just pick it and
then every time I don't pick the steering wheels.
Lucky right. And my uncle is that too.
Wait State might stop picking at the lobes on the see my uncle used to be pissed because it's like every time you drive it was always nice and clean and neat. And then you give it to like the
other two guys or whoever driving them again, and come back and just trashed. And so, every every year he'd
going by new wheel and be like, whoa, this is feels good.
Yeah, six months later, he nearly stopped by him because he's like, he's like, the people that drive these cabbage, don't do not care. They did it.
Come down all the way in. To the international middle of
the frame of the wheel. Wow, this is like dogs have been
chewing. Its tiny.
Look at the mat the driver's side mat.
It's just very stressful especially when my uncle was the type of guy. For me, at least.
Get that strike. See, no, what?
No? What makes the joke of the
bills? I am the smartest country in the
world. So yeah.
Anyway, that's another story but, but, yeah, touch points in cars, nice, when they're all one last riddle.
So that is it for my car that I haven't really done anything else, to be honest, I mean that came in today and I was like, well it's excited I even forgot I ordered it's been that long but there you go Christmas for him Eddie it's in this day and age. Yeah, definitely.
So yeah, all Christmas is came at once.
Tonight's topic though is things that we can that we could never afford and if we don't think about this topic because it's a topic that we always come back to occasionally here in the on the show. But with the recent price hikes
of just everything Japanese sports car is related.
Stupidity. What are some attainable cars
that like, I've been like where your dream car and now that are quite attainable and what would you go for and why?
Good question and good question. I didn't know there was the why
deny to explain myself? It was going to find you.
So I could use a off a list of dream cars that people can now afford, maybe. Okay.
Well, we'll make it rain, Make It Rain, Make It Rain.
Look, I never liked them when I actually first came out and I always, I mean, they were known as the poor man's Porsche.
But then years ago, when I was working in the hospitality industry, my boss Had one of these and hearing him talk about and then seeing it in the flesh, I started to like this car.
A lot more in a, which is a Porsche Boxster, S.
He also had an older 911, but he actually preferred the Boxster S. He said it handled much better
being a mid-engined car and I grew dark really like the design of it actually grew to really like the shape of these to see it parked at the back of the workshop.
So yeah, looking at the I think that 986 from memory.
Yeah. I think they're becoming quite
attainable. Look.
You know, you can pick one up in between 30 and 50.
Like a really nice example, you can get some lower than that, and I just think they're considering where Porsches have gone, especially with the 911s just going crazy, especially the older ones, just going through the roof, which I think are great cars, but you're paying so ludicrous money for him.
I wouldn't be surprised if these was starting to creep up with that Porsche badge. And just the fact they've got
that great motor, great drive, you know, real driver's car.
So that was our one of the ones on my list.
You talking the first shape, Boxster?
Yeah, yeah. First and second, even like
what? The first one said be like, oh,
they called me, you know, what are your, the egg headlights or whatever he likes? Yeah.
And then the second one's got a bit more rounded, but I really like them. I just actually think they're
quite a Sleek design. I think they're sort of stood,
the test of time, but when I first came out, I thought now ugly don't like him, but I look for now, I'm going now, they're a cool-looking sportscaster. The only thing we don't like
about them is Scotty and I don't like is that Center pujol exhaust, you know, because it's not the box says that Central It goes inside, but I like to the Boxster, the S version has two pipes coming out the middle as opposed to the one Center like a bunk bed, a little bit better drive behind it.
You know, you've got the ship one, no pun intended because they really cool. I had came in on my list as well
because those ammonia came in Very pretty looking car.
A bit of a hairdresser reputation, I suppose like the Boxster, but, but everyone who's driven one is like, wow, they are so beautifully, balanced and a really, really good drive.
And you still getting a flat-six engine and all those lovely Port, DNA elements but I looked at Caymans today and in the 40s, you can get a really nice low mileage.
Beautifully kept came in the 40s and I'm like, that's you know that's that's a lot of car really, if you Where else do you get a Porsche with all those attributes or car like this with that pedigree for that money? You don't?
That's right. Well, I think that's great
buying I mean boxes original boxes are under 20 grand but I'm assuming that's for the sheet 1. Yeah, that's been like the
two-point sevens. Yeah.
Which is 2. Yeah, I figured, if you're going
to do it, you'd go, the three-pointer, you just as well go all out like you're not you want it to be a real driver's car. I mean I was tossing some boxes
go for Around the 10 grand mock. Look, they're like early early
ones with the small engine, and the automatic is, but that's probably why they're a bit cheaper than the manuals, but yeah, Caiman. Or even like a, like a but I
mean, they're pretty much the same card.
They are the same color, just just without the roots, without the roof. Oh, I believe.
They were in the same platform either, Boxster, basically, exactly. Yeah.
And yeah, so I from all what I've read and stuff.
And yeah, I've known, I've never driven a box.
That or it came in. But for maybe one that says
they've had one, they like, they are awesome to drive, and they are like, you know, they're there again just, um, just a, just a great package or all pull together, my panel beaters.
Okay, he's just got some weird interesting things like an 850, you know, BMW BMW V12. Yeah, a real crook.
He's got, he's got two of those actually.
Yeah. Looks like he bought the Boston.
He bought the poor about the 50 when I was like six months old I like he's got some real, got some real cool cars and he always he always like I never had as much fun as I do in any kind except except in the box that like it's like it's like it's two layers and he's got he's got like you know again like a hsv's and all sorts of things and he's like it's like this cause it's the most fun car.
He's got the drive, I drove one of the original box I'm shooting it would have been. He rejoined would have been
about 2009. And when they launched the BMW
Z4, the second shape, I think well, yeah.
The more curvy 09. Yep.
I'm pretty sure I went to the, yeah, I went to launch up in Queensland and they had a heap of like add an S, okay?
A Boxster, the Z4, a couple of other competitor cars that I don't remember. It might have been a Nissan 370Z
something like that, but driving the Boxster around track was it was evidently a very balanced car.
Like I enjoy driving it never on the day was like, yeah there's the Porsche has got some credentials.
Yeah miss the bit. Behind the curve.
I by the time I aspire to certain cars if any has already bottomed out and it's on the rise again because again, like Angus, I never really liked them and they come out but I really grew to like them with a 928. Mmm, they could be had for next
to nothing, I'm years ago. I mean, Yep.
Giving away anything like 12 Grand.
Oh under 10. I'm yeah.
Yeah, being under 10. Yeah.
But frightening from a maintenance point of view the minute. Yeah.
Goes wrong on them. And that from my point of view,
working on the interior as was always appalling.
They're always hard to get in and out of, and actually, physically actually do anything to them inside.
But on song, I think they're pretty an awesome.
Awesome bit of kid. All right, in front of the
manual to really rare to find it like a little more automatics.
Yeah. It's right, it's right.
And I remember that every fifty sixteen, eighty thousand dollar cap, the auto transmissions in them have a rubber sort of boot thing, like it and you. Yes, I thought it looked funny
having a on the order. I might have.
Yeah, he got to drive on for a while and we used to go in a bit of remember, so you look at the ass.
I'm gonna, this looks pretty like, again at aged.
Well, I thought David, but the interior got in, you went now, this is an old car just thought of mercs of the similar era.
Their interior tended to aged really well, where this was just like, I'm sure of the time, it looks pretty amazing.
But yeah, that was one thing about kind of let it down a bit, big creaky in the body you know those little bit cranky.
I mean bunch of I saw in the 70s.
Did they like though? They're quite an old car.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's the first ones we got ya.
So, and so and they had that they had a Toledo Wheels Through I think. And yeah, they think all of them
had Brown interior as well. With everything was just Brown
Bieber and Berber wasn't it. Yeah.
Oh yeah. That different models had
different different trims. I think you're going to order a
different, a couple of different different materials but yeah, one of them was was a Berber. A type of fabric, you can
actually repair with chimaera, SLE cloth and no one in no, very, very another. One of Gordon Farkas has
a bigger bite, pick apart. I always thought the 91 like a
later, 928 in a manual. Apparently, like a really quite
a good kind of drive because they got that whole, that whole package, right? I mean, is war and they got the
longest sort of look at our lights.
Yeah. That curved around the body and
I think I won the first time I saw it.
I was like this is a Porsche like what like what like because I was so used to seeing like you your quintessential 911s and stuff like that. I think I had Grand plans are
That car actually. Replacing the 911.
I did. Yeah.
Because in the Peloton was instilling to well, it wasn't that the that's right. That's right.
Yeah. So those going front engine to
make it cheaper and sort of thinking this is where I was going to go over. It's interesting.
They tried to continue that with the nine.
The nine? Two four nine.
Four four. Yeah.
But 96 98, I think it is. 968 the the 9:01 fulfilled afterlife
or for you? So bit like it, it kind of it
kind of didn't really work out because people were like, oh you buy a Porsche, you're buying a new rear.
That's right. Yeah, but in a while I reckon
that drove the rear engines more popular because people went nuts. That's what we really want to
get a porch in retrospect was a really good marketing thing.
Yeah. Aren't you for was actually an
Audi was that's right. It's an Audi coupet and out of
your band in the project and push it all we will have that.
Thanks very much. Yeah I think 7576 out here from
9:00 to 4:00 Edward, does that sound right to you somewhere there? Yeah, well I wasn't around, you
know, in one of those years ago And they definitely would have a 1,300 pounds or something. Something, something stupid.
I'm like, whatever. He's a for here.
They weren't that expensive. And now, nothing like a good
quality turbo. You're looking 30 grand plastic
now for even 40 Grand. I think.
So now, 50 year for me, 50 Grand to go, but I'm 924, had a lot of golf in it. Obviously, I think that the
original, the 126 was the same engine as the God.
Not a good thing, I had the same tired body, Would that cracked like you kind of quiet? I could hear it cracking same
with the 944. Those words it destroyed.
The 944 though was a Porsche had got got their fingers in the pie with that. Yeah.
Model. And and the 944 was much more of
a Porsche than 24. Yeah, much better drive.
I have driven one of those. I don't think, I don't know.
I've driven 944 I think I've driven on 250 Edward would say, because he's such a fishing outing for this car that the best Porsche ever made was a Mercedes 500.
But that's a, you know. I I've often said on the show
Money, No, Object. I'd gone by a 911, you know?
I mean, I would say custom order my favorite color.
I don't know what it would be. I'd look at this.
So new one. Yeah, Money.
No Object, you know, like an old one Well, yeah, by spin silly money on a new car. It would be a non 11.
Okay. Fair enough.
The yeah, I am a Porsche fan that's you.
We just can't afford the mat. That's the so, is it?
So an interesting getting back to the topic?
Is that does that make it a dream car as well?
I suppose, it does make it a drink.
It does not attainable dream. It's a dream cabin dreams, not
that strong, it's a very well. It's one of those hazy dreams
where you can't really remember for me.
So let's not do what guy attainable for for people's different things. Like, I'd say, attainable for
like, four, in discussion in terms of like what we're doing is probably 60 Grand although or yeah give or take, that's your brother, that's what I kind of being marked in the cars.
I wrote down. Yeah, I sort of think so because
the 60 Grand, you can get yourself into a new car where you can go. Okay, I'm going to get a new New
good family, car 60k easy, so under that, if you can get something that's, you know, an attainable dream car.
It's like, well, I could have this or I could have that, you know, the Toyota to Rago, new one Maddie.
I mean, it's attainable dream car but, you know, hey, I could get as, you know, we mentioned, I could get a Porsche Cayman and one of my mates had one. Nice older for the 40 in the 40s
and he said, it was absolutely fantastic.
Our best car I ever drove. He just needed like it when he
had to replace I pads and found out what it cost to do that.
I don't think it was that bad but it was still for him.
He was like, Lord Jesus and cry. Yeah, not a good five people, I
think with a 60 Grand, he sort of budget.
Like most people who are working full-time.
You know, I don't want to generalize, but if you want it with the available Financial finance options out there these days, most people could probably find it to cover about that bad.
You, if push came to shove and they really wanted to focus on that. It's Not that Out Of Reach from
most of what car was looking at. And I always was thing, hoping
they'd be in a terrible car. And a few years ago it was was a
FDR exception. But now, they are 100 Grand 82,
a Seco 60 to 100 Grand on the bike that is insane for one of those cheapest. What do they get down to our?
You can't afford just over just over 12, Grand or 13 Grand.
At one point, like you can get them really cheap.
And like, I had to check the the other day, just because we're thinking about this and made people want you for a good type.
A spirit up, 120 Grand, I was like, that's just Insanity for an RX-7 so concerning the same, my tote it was an RX-8.
No, I said was different or excite had the and then turbo and the registers that are accessible quite a quite a fib.
FIB FIB of the problems but yeah.
Yeah, I thought that was quite ridiculous.
I went in this this this this question throws a lot of like the cars that I really grew up with loving at the window because super turbos are 60 70 grand now in a sexist, forget about it. Yeah, shut the gate on those a
long time ago. But like but this reason in the
thing for other things like nsw, 20mm are to be like a series to a to like that. They're on the up-and-up.
We're getting really really expensive.
And she laid dream Carlo. Well, I mean for a lot of people
they were specially like a like a turbo one definitely.
Yeah. But this one yellow Bathurst on
because Australia, she never sold any turbocharged ones here from the dealership. There will import the turbos so
irrelevant irrelevance. Yep.
There you go. That's it.
It's called he it relevant have a key to the kingdom.
Let me drive you a little one when it comes because, right?
Because it's an important, he doesn't need anymore.
3333 GTRs for me, still under that 40 Grand Mark for some.
I think they're getting up there so I I always kind of liked those. I had us always had a soft spot
for those. Those ones they weren't the
original Godzilla but they were in every way shape or form, where a better car than a 32. And 34 are just strings on a
really nice looking thing to the quite beefy in the front, they are They're my favorite looking Skyline like out of 32 33 34 and and I find them like a really attractive car.
So I would buy would you know, by one because I yeah, they were kind of a dream car for me and that was the first video I ever went in, and my friend's dad had one.
I was like, oh, this is amazing. Holy crap.
But but yeah, that that to me is definitely an attainable dream car. And they're not going to go get
cheaper either not maybe now's the time to buy it though.
Exactly. And then we might be, you know,
and used to come going. Look, this thing we got this at
40 and now it's 140 thousand dollar car like a comes down to what will, you know, predicting it last time I was on with the future Classics but these are the sort of things that will like, you know exactly what start going.
Exactly. And I think that comes back to,
to the the, the aspirational thing for many younger, people of Japanese cars. I mean, You know, a lot of jet,
a lot of young people aren't as keen on on classic Porsches or bins, has or all those things that that they know that they, I mean, they can't afford deposits.
For houses are not going to be up to walk without of those cars. It's just, there's not much
point, you know, having having something that you desperately wanting and that, you know, you never going to afford.
So I mean, these things are aspirational and there's always a chance I suppose that they're not going to go through the roof. Ben probably more reliable to
like in the long run as well, and things won't fall of Adam in the same way. They're actually built with
mechanical people to fix them. In mind later on.
Yeah, he's a little off week before like I'll let you guys have a go but there's one that gets around my area quite a bit and it's I know where it. I know where the person works.
You owns it. It's an r129.
Mercedes SL now, but this one's a, this one's a 600.
So is it Big V12. And I don't imagine that will be
cheap to maintain at all. I don't think you can get a six
hundred found a 50 anymore but you still can get an SD still can get into an SL. And I also thought there was
such a cool looking car and such a why don't you get one of those? I'm just doing one I need.
I need to grow the porno mustache, though, to drive the.
We just get rid of the beard, and you've got the porno mustache, I can do the same. Yeah.
How about Angus, we get together and we both drive into the into the sunset playing. Some it is the ultimate porn
star car the the right away. That, that 19, Auntie's SL
Mercedes, but I was. So there was such a cool car and
in quite attainable. Now really?
Yeah, the only thing that scares me Edwards from not buying one of those is as you mentioned anything breaks.
It's two grand. We like it like anything.
A little bit of sorting out and everything is two grand.
So it's like seatbelt mechanism to Grand.
Air con Tu G, compress it to Grant you.
No starter motor, so you keep throwing lots of cruise at it and then it's good. The nice part that was sorry.
Sorry. They'll design and build right
at the end of that, you know, over-engineered.
Yeah. Here are so, so, you know,
inherently there, good car, but just it'll be terrifying to own one. Sorry David.
I didn't mean to interrupt you there.
No, no, that's fine. I'm looking at a few images of
quite agree. And I think I mentioned before,
when I had to sell an Audi R8 for some friends, I was just scared to actually move the thing in case something, when Bing, when I that had, that had problems with it and got it all sort of running, but it didn't have any degree of well great.
I'm just going to jump in the Audi and, you know, it Bush or something like that. You just wouldn't do it.
You know. So yeah, I mean it's got to be a
bit of a bit of concern about those one shape after that.
The roundish are still nice. Yeah, yeah.
And, and, and still a lot cheaper.
Yeah. Those are in that sort of 30s.
I've seen worse. I'll soon be returned 130 or
something that will make Center. Really, I think there are some
things 30. I've seen them.
I've seen them in the 20s and you can get a good one for that.
Yeah. Well if you want to be a
mechanic out of these and then they were a bit more generic mechanically a bit? Yeah.
Bit more parts, been sort of thing.
I did have a I have a maid who bought one in from ball on there was actually a Hong Kong in port or it was something like that.
So it was quite cheap and I think it was an SL 280.
Yeah. So Just had the 280 engine.
I mean that that was the attraction for him.
He didn't pay a lot of money at all for it looked incredible you know right color and an interior and stuff and it was in really nice. Nick didn't get a chance to come
to next how much rust it had four of being at Hong Kong carpet. It is the fact it was just a 280
was a real attraction for him. I did we get that they're too
80s here? I think we don't think we got to
throw you the smaller engine for we we did in the r129.
You Good. There weren't many that you
could you could directly to any and you can get them as a manual too. Wow.
Now I know that you could have the smallest engine, you could get us. Emmanuel, I remember reading
that somewhere so to get them ordered one.
I've never seen one but you don't get a clutch one of those from the Saudis. I don't think we ever did a 280.
I think it was A320 was the baby engine in it.
I might be wrong. This might come up in.
How many keep Matt being well on the next Edition?
What else goes, what are we thinking of the return of a dream cause I am, I had a Jaguar online just like, oh, you know, we talked about earlier and it was because I still remember the day you brought one down to where your residing at the moment. It was a, I think it was black
from memory. As in Jaguar xkr-s, I think it
was real. Is it all dark green and God I
must have been early 2000s. Yeah, it would have been about
two thousand and two or three. Yeah.
So I would have been 21 and I just remember going, wow.
This is an old saying uh, source to remember, sitting in the old Landrum then looking at the window and I just that is a sexy looking car just with the curves and all that.
And you let me drive it. Down the dirt road and back up
in a Mite of. I'm trying to remember what I
got it, you know, bit further down the road or not you because you're like, I shouldn't really be letting you drive.
This thing was like close to probably two hundred thousand dollars at the time, and I wasn't that it was the insurance, you know? Ya think you had to be 25 and
over to be even insured for it. So it's like, oh God if If
anything happens and I ping this.
But then you took us for a bit more of a Fang in it, but I remember being really like really liking all of it but that's one thing in it which is thought, as you said like, look at this, trying to adjust the steering wheel.
You like this is just a Ford bit.
It's like you know a Ford Falcon and it snapped and you like some these things cheek like floored yeah snapped.
But we liked all these other did some faced about and I actually still look at them and go that Site by look at think it is still one of the best looking shape Jags that they've made in modern-day sort of history of. Yeah, if type the new one.
Hmm. Yeah, I think so.
Prices on those Jag convertibles this for a normal one.
I don't know if because the the one I brought there was a skate just a normal. Eight wasn't it wasn't super
charged? That was a soup judge rules.
Yeah, no, yeah. I think it was a 4.24 memory,
V8, or 4.2? Yeah, I can't remember.
Now, but they're hovering around 30 ish, like 30, 35 38, you know, around those sort of numbers.
It's not crazy money really for a very, you know, what was a very exotic car and still turns heads.
Hmm. What are those in British racing
green? With the like the 10 available
top, lovely, lovely, lovely car, it would drive convertibles So what was that David? And Priscilla had talked to the
convertibles in that but do I yeah.
Like the keep my yeah, it's good.
Would you go there? Still in bringing rain in town?
Oh yeah, yeah, ASL. Matthew tragic SL.
But I do like I do like an XK. I think there are good.
I think they're good looking car and I wouldn't fancy running cost. Someone drunk driving.
Yes. How did we ever get?
The XK was the XKR. That was The Supercharged charge
one? Yeah, I think we did.
Yeah, I think we did. I don't think I've ever seen
one. I've seen it.
I've seen plenty of Justice case.
I don't think I've ever seen. You probably have you just
didn't realize that. Yeah they just had a big another
inch diameter room I think and buy bigger brakes and I love you know very little I told him I didn't XJ X Jr.
The four-door with the Sienna smooth.
Yeah I remember being offered a driver one of those when they were new by the dealer actually and yeah I well remember how rapidly accelerated really do. Anything else I was driving at
the time. Yes.
And they came in that the the one that I drove in the one that there's one that looks not far from me in that sort of tea.
Ali bluey-green, I love that noise color material or something. It was called so what was it
called? Peacock, blue.
Something like that. Starving combination.
Yes. What about these?
I had lived in a couple of Bentleys.
Well, okay and I could not that much money.
Bentley Turbo, R, 35 to 55 grand, that's a nice piece of Kit, everything breaks on that you're looking out for thousand dollars, a couple of your head and then the Bentley Continental, I wouldn't buy a continental personally but but they're in the 60s now. And there is there an exotic
looking machine? Yep.
No, he woke up in that people think it's been 300.
Would like to own one though. No.
But you know, a Timeless classic that would scream.
I have got old money. Getting some there's an Audi S8
AKA Ronin. You know, the essay g'kar.
There's an 03 model and car sales for Seventeen and a half Grand. I'm like, oh, that's quite a bit
of Motoring. For not aquatic, pool boy.
Is there is not one the V10. No that was the one that was
because my good man was going to going to say it but he's got the V10 with the Syrah believe it's the same engine out of the Lamborghini Gallardo. I think that's a lady.
It's a later one. Yeah but he only paid like a few
years ago he paid like under the EPA under thirty thousand dollars for that. Yeah but he's like yeah if
something goes wrong. Sounds like a few things have
gone wrong because it's any howdy, he's like not cheap to repair not a cheater. I'm almost no I could newer 80s
turbo. Yeah yeah yeah but what about in
1984 turbo R22 blocky and square what you've been angry?
I think the older ones had a little bit more style to them I think you're right. It's like a shadow to rolls or a
shadow one or two roles is and Bentleys and not crazy money.
You know those ones certainly is 1/4 C, 63 AMG.
W204 what are they now? They downloaded like or 40s, 30s
high 30s 40s and I'm that's a lot of car for the money like that is big bucks performance summer.
As we spoke about last time Angus, the is f there in the there in the 20s. Now I've seen like high tech
high 20s but they're they're in there about there an amount so they were, you know, close to 250,000 dollar cars when they were new and they're like well well well anyway to me well cars. But yeah, definitely definitely
attainable and realistic. Probably a lot more reliable
than some of the other ones that were talking about.
Definitely one thing I've just been looking to just so just check them out again because I haven't.
Sent him for a while, but always thought I'm, I've always had a soft spot for these even though I know I'd be a money pit, but an old Range Rovers. And that's do you want to say
that? I just always, always have, but
I just had to look thin and I can't believe like P38 Ryan drivers which was the shape after the classic brain drive it is. On it came out.
Yeah. 99. Yeah, that's sort of mid 90s
through to sort of early. 2000's, they would do in shape,
but I've just seen one here for like someone's asking 27 Grand.
For and it is a Vogue with the 4.6.
It's the 2001 model. So one of the last but I'm like
I still can't believe people are asking that for them because you can get him. There's not many out there now,
so I think just you to covid a lot of people holding on stuff, but I was saying them Dirt Cheap like around under 10.
You know, you can see something for, you know, my dude again, I'm sure it'd take a favor to sorting out, but when they came out I mean you're looking at a car that was well over 100 k.
So my mommy can occur when my mom worked.
He had two in there and he's got a soft spot for four ranges and he had two of those. One was a boy murdered, the
other one was all just just wore out so he took the one with the blown motor. I like too little too little
puppy that was the good kind and put the other motor in that one and like made one good car out of it and still only got like four or five thousand dollars for it.
So he was like oh well it is what it is.
But yeah. Did I still think I look good?
I look good. And not, they driver when
they're driving. But again, I reckon you want to
be a mechanic ironing it because you've just got to put the library in. That's where you lose half, you
half a coin on it and if you're able to Source, you know, where to get your parts from, I mean that's another battle with him as well. If you know of anyone looking
for one, I know it is one. That's probably going cheap.
Don't tell me whatever. One of those vibes, David, I
don't know if it's a Vogue, I hadn't.
See, I've seen one grainy photo of it out of a deceased estate, and it was picked on a trickle charger and then someone diskin someone who will remain unidentified turned the trickle charger off. So when it was jump-started the
dashboard Up like a Christmas tree which they do evidently.
Yeah. And it ended up getting towed to
a guy up here and I think they're talking a five or six grand Bill to get it roadworthy which is about what it's worth.
So how how many kilometers on the odometer?
I'll get back to you on that. Is it a for later or a full
point? Is?
It's a for because someone was interested in it, but it was date. Then they decided that they
didn't want it because it wasn't the bigger engine.
Yeah. Bigger engine is more desirable,
probably BSE not the H. It's hard to say.
I think it's got the leather though.
I'm pretty good. Not all of them did do a lot of
the force had below uh but the leather cracked like he would believe in those things. Yeah I did when I bought one of
those home. That was a Vogue.
There was a yeah that was a top-of-the-line, wasn't it?
Yeah. Yeah that was a Bogan we had
that with work. The Weekend.
We had the Suzuki Jimny and I've talked about this before but we went out to Jim Brooke and played around in the mud and the hill seeing how the, they both were for four wheel drives and the Range Rover, just ate everything up and the Jimmy was just skirting and balancing around the ruts and it was it was three times the fun of the Range Rover but it went everywhere. The range you are not weed
everywhere the range you went, but it was just way more fun.
You said to work at a lot rangy, just you'd raise it up and just go blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah and off you go.
But Yeah. Interesting cars.
Very fun. 63 AMG wagon for sale. All in a sixty nine thousand.
Nine hundred dollars is a friend of mine.
I hope 3,000 ches that's my one with In Malachi is like, 50 Kay's, probably a year and a half ago and he paid 50 or just on 50. It was a black low mileage.
One owner C63 wagon. And on here was the update, or
was it the I think it probably just pretty update maybe because it's because this is not there being a 2012, right?
David. So 2009 or 10, something like
that, but your I do, but that's all.
That's a beautiful car for the money.
Like that's a lot of car. Reckon get that Mary, that's
good. Yeah, I know it's I mean I'm all
for the wagon life now so but if you succeed get rid of the Forester, get rid of the typhoon, get rid of the LT dig in, just get that. Would be would be cool if I
would be cool but I don't think I want to spend all that money on one car Edward. I can have many cars for that.
Yeah, that's true. That's because Ed's philosophy.
Yeah. What else?
What else we go Gents Auntie, what do you got?
Well, speaking of cars that cost you a lot to maintain the in W made a little thing called an M5 with a V10 engine, and an instinct for the V10 engine, the other fathers between 20 and 40 Grand. And M6, is a sort of 30 to 40
Grand. But, you know, they have their
issues. But that's a hell of a lot of
motor car for not crazy money issues.
Bit of an understatement, it's they run.
This is on this show on this program but there's a lot of people worldwide who love those victims.
I remember one time and we went in and I couldn't believe the insane power, that's green, they get up and scream.
Absolutely correct me if I'm wrong but they had like the engine was Little bits and pieces, where if one derived from memory. So that they were, they were
like a really highly strong, super powerful.
Incredible Moto very much a race motor.
And I just think if you had a hankering for some serious, V10 performance, and you found one that was half well-maintained, that's, that's a lot of car for not silly money.
You know, the price of a human Dyke Tucson or something.
Yeah, this is true. But Anything that breaks US 20
grand. Whoops.
Sorry to throw a car at that point.
It would allow you to have a friend.
You pick the rock mechanic, I think.
Okay, you'd have become good friends with a mechanic.
Yeah, I had that. You'd be besties with with the
mechanic I think of it, I'd be listen.
I don't want you to line 1 and then report back.
No more being WD. Seen on this program to you
going one? No, thank you very much.
I like being W's in it. I think being I was your call
but I Why would I own one? Would I risk the ownership
experience of a BMW where you where, it's a.
What's the word? Yeah.
A routine. Service item is pistol.
Piston rings. I'm rod bearings.
Like, that's just idiotic like I'm sorry.
That's just. That's just insane.
Even manufacturing photo. I think it does.
But I mean another way to put it is, I mean, you know, would join one of them when the service cost you could earn.
Jazz, which we know you love the design of jazz dance, is such a visit. See that's a drink up.
That was attainable for me, but still it's attainable for all of us a jazz. Yeah, we probably would all be
very happy driving jazz in actually go.
All right, these things happen driving.
It was very matte. Remember when we bought the
picture actor, that was a great day and I had to jam it folded those magic seats and we got the spare set of wheels plus 2.
Other wheels and plus despair. Driver's seat that came to the
car. They were the original driver's
seat and it piled all in the back of the Jazz without blinking. 100% you can't use. I couldn't fit four wheels in my
Triton unit that I had in the tub.
What I could get into against phenomenal, if the Mary Poppins of cars is no IDs. It's an absolute tired of think
I commission. You just start a new YouTube,
think. Hatch life and see what it has
around Estrella and walk with all these people, it's like look what I can do in a hatch. Just look where I can get this.
I can get to you know pretty much 98% of this company.
I should just rock up to building sites with trade, okay, Buttes in my jazz and just proceeded to pull out way more than they can even dream of. You know.
It's like I said I'm roof racks on if anything, that's a bit length, if you had a pod box on the roof and a tow bar with a little trailer, forget about you could move, that's it.
That's my you, that's where our tent option for it penis.
If that was a factory, Honda option, David, I think I'd still own my jazz with. That's very cool.
You know, if you heard about the hatch hutchman, yeah, Mac we've talked about it will tell me, it's on the back of it.
Nice. Little beach side.
Tend to get changed in on a hot 70s.
Summer day, get around it hero. What about in the world of
mercs, I had just to finish off on my least, I had 600.
I thought, let's just look at v12s.
What are we got? In the world of V12 so you can
get a S-Class like a shape. I headed, w220.
V12, those are, those are like mid-20s some of you and there's the shape after I found it. S600 long w221 series was 3990
you're going back and edit done only 78,000 k a lot that so what a car 400 and something thousand dollar car 39. 990 cutting.
That's incredible way. No more to pay.
Yeah, no more to pay. What about a Jag xjs 5.3?
V12 is one Invicta 1608. Going to that was actually on my
list of Jags. Yeah, it's a bit of a thing
tonight. Next time.
Yes, purely for the fact that when I was a kid we had that experience of going to buy one for 1,000 bucks but it was not forget the Light Rider but you tell me about it.
I like that. Very good looking.
Yeah. Exercise is a cool smoking
something. Let's call it some kind of
appeal David it's an imposing car door, closing car.
I mean you know ugly but all right.
What would you take? It's not a Lagonda.
That's really ugly. Just prove a point.
Yeah yeah. I mean people say the Lagoon is
that bad that it's actually cool but then again people say that about a you Falcons so I don't know where to put the Lagonda.
I'd say that about. Are you fake?
And it's Falcons to are actually reckon.
They are that bad today. I'm going to be comfortable and
except they've also been told by mechanics.
They're really good. Reliable car.
They are one of the they are probably the best rocket ever made. This podcast thing is, you would
know that because we always talked about On the whole, the IU keeps coming up but you know, I've had Spiros, tell me that I've had the mechanic up in. Malden told me that he goes.
You know, why would you buy a home in Cruise?
When you get one of these, I use 1,000 bucks 1,000 bucks.
We'd like 600,000 cases in the clock, doesn't matter.
How much should I know? Yeah, but I always thought that
was such a cool looking car. I thought I got them a narrow
spot on to be honest with you. I thought that was one of the
best things that they need. Um, and they come with a really,
you know, the weather's, okay. And I'm like, they're not the
best quality Care in the world. But in terms of a driver's car,
they're shorter than a Commodore one more time.
I doubt even Jeremy Clarkson, like them.
I don't know how he did, but sure that they're meeting pie, engineering, big V8 manual, gearbox rule Drive fun and then 50 Grand. You reckon give or take in the
50s. Yeah.
And you getting dizzy at the crap table A pallet.
So you're getting I think like sorry I'm losing my voice.
Let's look at the power figures on them is right at the moment.
Don't know, just when you getting high on 300 kilowatts so 297. Yeah, and that's you getting LS
motor. So it's going to be reliable
their dialysis as we know a pretty much Bulletproof.
And the parts of relatively cheap provided you don't damage any of the body kit because that's all HSV only and but mechanically appreciate, doesn't it that car they are appreciating. So I mean they they're going up
in value that they get their problem, they hit the bottom for a while ago. So Carter top tip if you want
one of those or even anything like any like a HSV GTS or like getting into any bees and stuff. That's that's a car you can get
into right now and I Can you should definitely definitely do it. Maybe not the ninety thousand
dollars on the dozens of got perhaps, probably not, I'm lower but I'm looking at a really nice clean one here that's a manual with 150,000 k on it for 60 59 510 they even go cheaper there's a few 455 which is a really lovely red one actually.
Yeah, I think differently. I'm definitely one of those is a
really cool car that I mean, they got the full but they got the full kit on him. They got memory seats and and
all all the trick gadgetry that that they came with of the time.
But, yeah, if you want a numbered special edition car, that's definitely one to go for. Hey Maddie.
Yeah, 0 car quiz tonight. There is a car quiz as it but
before we get to those anymore on your list before we get to the conquerors no I was I think you guys have mentioned the other ones. I kind of had on my list.
I did have Lotus Elise. Oh good luck in the 30s 40s and
that's a pretty fun little machine again for not silly money. How much with a new bird cute?
Huh? What were they new day?
Like 75 or something? Yeah, somewhere on the price,
but it wouldn't be half the fun, you know, it's still a very good driver's car and it would be mostly reliable being a Toyota motor. That's right.
I think the early ones weren't, but then the later ones were Toyota Motors. Yes.
Yeah, you could keep that on the road, pretty cheaply.
I would think they've got, they've got the same engine actually as the Crawlers Petit Bois and salika.
The last one is, Lego the lift right off component.
So really reliable, and there's nothing to than they're pretty simple. Like, they've got bugger, All
Electronics or anything? Yeah, yeah.
It would be a very reliable little thing other than if you crunch the body that might cost a bit of money to steer handle like a go-kart. That was all what the report for
my settlement. Yeah.
But they're there in the 30s or low 40s for one of those for me.
Focus RS is in the 30s now which is getting bigger.
Is getting a bit excited for me. That's it.
That's it. Okay, for me it is.
I like shopping hatch. It's a shopping house, but
nothing wrong with a hot hatch. Angus.
Yes, I'm a converter. Then that I think the hot
hatches are actually. You know, pretty cool.
I'm all I'm dreaming about s L's and Gull wings and you're dreaming about a hot hatch. Well, the thing I like about a
German. You know, you know, Mega kids.
If I need to check them in the back, I can be right.
And yeah, you look you just told me how good a jazz is.
I mean it's not a hot hatch, it's a hatch.
You definitely want one. It's more that I just think
they're yeah. Like what you can actually get
out of cars out sighs? I think it's pretty cool and
what I liked about it, it probably came back to when I was in the time. The other time I was on my
talked about the BMW 130. You know real drivers K, you
know? Very but you're not looking like
a wanker in it, you know what I mean?
Like it's not the screaming. Whoa, hey look at me.
Look what I've got on going through my midlife crisis.
I've got a driver's car. That's fun yet.
It could be to the untrained eye and 110 die.
And so me some of these hot hatches likes, my just go either because got a Ford Fiesta but it's like, yeah, this thing's fun. Like look what I can do in it
but you know you're enjoying it for you as opposed to having a statement for everyone else to look at you.
That's what I like about them. The Cara and under the top rung.
Like I quite like an E46 M3 but to find one that's not munted completely now or hideously expensive because it's fantastic. Where is it?
You found a nice 330ci manual. Hmm, you know that's pretty much
pretty much the same car. Well it's not as much power, not
as much power but Everything is lovely.
Probably a significant saving. Why is it's going to be even
more affordable? Yep.
Which I reckon you'd have more fun because you're going only paid this for it as opposed to exactly.
Exactly. And I long ago realized that
what you actually physically pay for a car is often inversely proportionate to how much fun they can be.
You know it's it's Uncle every with the DC to type our Integra is going crazy. Awesome car, brilliant car but
Sam is The vti are Integra. And if you didn't need to have a
piece, a therapist in the passenger seat with you every time alignment. Sorry, madam.
If you're listening many time together here.
Yeah, some is much much more than just your average everyday, you know hatch. But but not quite as hardcore as
some of the real performance stuff that's going to be expensive, but he does going to respond with well.
You have a seam welded chassis is you was your karma located knows, it. It wasn't I wouldn't know a seam
welded chassis but Phil over it Even tell you if you wanted one of my cars had that or not, well for me, the like a DC-3 but even a DC50. Think the later one which we
sold here, as well as the type R, they were very expensive.
When they were new. And for me that there are there
bit of an attainable dream car because I always had a soft spot for those. See they've gone.
They've almost doubled in the last six months.
Nicholas, he's gone different hats and course you know that the original dc5 type ours actually Entire cars that were types. This is, but this is Injustice
type as, yeah, they don't realize they not really are truly oh, ones. No, but that's what we got said.
It's if you're talking Australian delivered, then that's what you ended up here. Yeah.
But didn't that, the type S is that they had more badges topics that have more power. I believe, they had more power.
I read somewhere. Yeah, it was something to do
with the, the ancient that put in.
I should know this, but I'm not completely in 20 all the facts, But was that were concerned about the quality of the Petrol in Australia. Is a lot of Manufacturers have
been over the years. And yeah, that's why we got the
detuned version sort of thing that I think that I think you're right. I think DS had more power going
back to what I bought my laser talking about.
I wouldn't I want to buy a sw20 amount to back then, and but I was doing this. I was picking up my sister and
brother from school, and Against a two-seater doesn't really, really work but you know you're right.
As you were saying, you have to buy like a really like statement. Look how big my wing is car, to
kind of have fun and Yeah. Lasers been a great benefit of
great great car so it's still there.
I can't get its covid II. Can't I can't leave my already
pick up the car. It's bestows that he isn't
painted it. Nah, it's not done.
Well, tell him there at the moment because every letter sent everybody home because he's got no work.
Hmm. He's legit had like one car in
the past month. He was telling me he's good, we
can do that. You could do mine.
Izzy within five k's? No, he's like 20 days away,
okay? We'll just tell him to hang it
and get it ready for like end of October.
But if we could out because it'll come, it'll be Christmas, and then it won't happen. It'll be like March before you
get this thing. He's like, I'm not, I'm not
paying for it as well, so, but like, I was thinking, if I want to pay the battery to do the whole car that I'm like, is it ready to do the whole time? I don't know lives outside, not
to go garage. Yeah.
Anyway, car quiz time, gentlemen.
Did you guys? This is the last week, where was
it last week? When I ran the quiz, you did.
Yeah, you did. No, no, I haven't listened to
on. Yeah.
Is that one live, yet? Many it is, it was live on in
the last week or so. Okay, we have to have to have a
listen. Yeah, there you go.
Definitely was. So again, a second time during
the car quiz, you know the rules?
Yeah, buzzing with you. Name was upright posture with
your name. Basically, you're too busy with
your name, 10 questions. Whoever gets the most at the end
wins essentially, get that you're bragging rights for a week. It's prestigious.
It's a it's it gets down to the wire its its next level kind of Hardcore question asked questions here not feeling confident is saying that he against these two but anyway, if you forget one, if I get one question I'm out, I mean that's like Gorge you happy. By the way, I was going to say
is the Festivus pole. It's bitterly for about two
months early, but this doesn't you pin your father.
I got a lot of grievances with you people and tonight.
Thanks man. Especially a Frank Costanza
Costanza. All right guys, ten questions,
let's get into it. Five questions are, what car am
I five questions? Is?
General Car questions let's get into it.
What car am I based on a very successful sports car from Japan. Version of the car came
turbocharged and was the only one.
And the only time in his for Generations that had come with Factory support for a Turbocharger, there were two versions of this turbo version here.
One was just a turbo in the other came as the full turbo, sorry right there on full-time, a package with the body kit Wheels, suspension, and make other mechanical upgrades.
What cart am I? Is Ed.
Is it Master? MX-5 it is which one in
particular is he? SP an essay.
I would have accepted, that's that.
Yeah, I'll give you them. I'll give you the permit.
The be seen how much SPS go for. Now, there's 60 Grand that
containable that's an attainable dream car and not to me it isn't just get a normal one. It's a very honorable title but
when a year ago, but that's another story.
Question to the Ford Ranger no talk no longer offers what engine in its current lineup. Angus!
Oh, that was close between you. Both are well, I heard it first
but I'll go on. Take it big bird.
Oh no, that's fine. Yeah question.
It's going to say 2.2 diesel. That is one of them.
Yes, correct. That if I said, I'll give you
the other Mark. If you can give me the other
answer, I thought the engine. They got rid of was the
5-cylinder diesel personally, these also are so they don't do the 2.2 anymore either. I believe though, I'm from what
I read that he did, they only do the two liter twin-turbo now, okay? So marketing efforts so we both
kind of correct they both are correct.
What do you Market? You know, ask kids.
We know obviously In 1811. So maybe pause question 3.
What car and white this High Performance Group?
A came out in 1970 and went to 1975.
This car was was applauded for it's technologically.
Advanced tickets technological advances and ability to get to 200 km/h and stay there with complete Comfort were.
This was some of its trademarks along with its borrowed V6.
Engine from Maserati. This car came from Fred's, Ed.
Citroën SM, Citroen SM is correct.
Well done. Well done.
Cool. Colour image and arrow are
wacky. Looking thing that were here.
Looking thing very distinctive. Yeah.
Very distinct with the license plate in the, in the grill, kind of area. It's yeah, it's a glass glass.
Yeah, question 4. How many engine sizes came out
in the original 205 GTI it Ed? I believe they were too.
There was a smaller. One point.
We got the 1.9 L. We did mr.
Mallya but overseas there was a smaller 1.6 or 1.7.
It might have been was 1.6 World on it.
Would you get the mark? You're Fired.
He's that cute or check. It would fall Angus one and
David, what's happening? My friend.
I'm on the board yet there'll be time they were on the job.
Question 5 launched a. So, what kind of my launched at
the 1972 Frankfurt motor show? This car became this company's
first production turbocharged vehicle based on one of the other models, which was offered as a four-door N2 door.
This car was a two-door only and we and produce just under 700 of them to ever be sold due to the oil crisis, which soon followed producing 100 20 kilowatts. It came with the cars original
standard engine but with a lot lower compression to Knocking due to being turbocharged. What can't am I David?
Sad 99 incorrect Edge dead. I was thinking SOB as well, but
it might not be the Nine-Nine and might be this up something else, but I've got to get you an answer I exist.
Okay, well first am I is it a sub incorrect?
Okay well I guess Never stabbed take a step, go on take a chance. Honey.
We've got I'm thinking on in 72 you've got me know like in terms of a bit early for the 99 but that breaking through.
Yeah, I thought so many things want stronger and they came to the door and four-door in the suburbs of bit and see what I can see what you you guessed for that but it's you're both y'all incorrect. It's a BMW 2002 turbo I didn't
know they did to oo to Turbo. They Did very, very rare and
very, very sought after. Yes, they weren't even.
They weren't even that they want a good car when they had a lot of issues and stuff for the ones that are driven in kept off the road quite dramatically. To remember, wouldn't want to
drive on, put it that way. Why do you have a death trap
questions? 6.
How many in million Citroen DS has was sold over its lifespan Diaz. Citroen DS has dining David.
I've got to get on this bull somehow.
Okay, well whoever gets closest to it.
I'll give them the I'll say 77 million.
Okay, yeah, I'm Edward. I'll say Twelve million.
And I guess I'm going to got lower and say, 5 million is his closest 1.5 million. Where did I get that from?
Okay, question 7, what car am I running a massive Cleveland 351 V8 this yeah, exactly the noise. Thank you beautiful bubble.
This sports car made. Quite the was quite the
performer. Even though it wasn't even
American, it was made from 19 from the 1970s to the early 90s by an Italian car company with over 7,000, produced during its model run. This mid-engined two-door sports
car. David David probably wrong
ditomasso ditomasso, which one era and terror is correct.
You're on the board. Can you believe I looked at this
fact as well because I heard it somewhere years ago.
It they they actually had to import the Cleveland V8 in the end of its lifespan from like the last 2,000 cars from Australia because I'm Erica stop America still making a Cleveland and Israel was only place for making it.
So they had to come to us to get them.
You go. So see your the Border it could
work. Question 8 in what year did?
The first Toyota Land Cruiser come out in 8th?
Ed. It's okay angle.
Dave you'll get this. That's right, it'll be either
way question. Do you question twiddling?
Who's a first year? It was pretty early.
I reckon it was 19. In 68.
About Angus. 1958 bubble. David. 63 1950.
Was the first Toyota Land Cruiser took?
Yep. 1950s. This game.
Yeah, but I used a lot of Land Rovers for that, but I series one 80-inch Land Rovers. But, you know, they did.
You also use Land Cruisers to. I didn't know, they've been
around a long time. The old Cruiser question 9, what
car my produced in the 80s and is often recognized as a weird and quirky car. Even then this car was available
as only a two-door coupe, a with four-wheel drive and could be optioned with a turbo quintessentially 80s with its styling and witty Japanese. This thing is David got in
there, Subaru, Vortex Subaru. Vortex question.
No. Actually it wasn't so good.
Was thinking Honda Prelude that then I thought did that editor.
But of course and I remember someone having one or so yeah, yeah, cool. Kind of what they had, one of
the gear. Shifters be it manual or Auto
and I always looked at him with that is just wrong, you know?
You don't want to touch that. Well, maybe some people do but
most people don't want to touch that that's being.
Don't know where that's been question 10, who originally fitted the factory gas, dual fuel systems to Ford's in the 90s? I think I have heard this but
who is in, what company, what company?
Yep, heated, the factory gasps. Mmm.
Oh You guys, probably think you guys are probably thinking about, you are thinking too hard, it's actually like a gas company. I think, well, I can
Any other takers? You guys are thinking too hard.
It's think more closer to Ford. Pecan, pie across the ride would
Manos. Oh, David.
David. That did conversions and stuff
for them, they did. Yeah.
Yeah, especially when they brought in the Mustang first time around. They converted him to run and
drive. Yep, I can't think that it's not
harib performance. No, it's a cat.
No, I can't think. I can't think.
Yeah, David's out. So to the best better than ig0
tick for did the old or factory option, gas cars.
They did obviously the ticket enhanced Falcons, they did the Mustang converting them from to run and drive and making them ADA Compliant. Then they later became obviously
fpv and now they have to take it again.
But yeah. $60. Can I get bonus points?
What was the first car available in Australia?
Factory or P gas. Was it?
That's, and some green. Here is the depth and 200 baby.
It was I like that from you. Check Angus and David equivalent
to Eduardo to the victors. Go the spoils on for Well done.
Well done. Thank you, thank you, one.
And all, there was some tough questions in there tonight, actually some rules some real tough.
He's but Mazda, MX-5 essay in SPSS, quite quite rare now.
Even really, you'll see more expensive Citroen SM, I really like those cars. I think they're just a quirky
weird looking car. There's no big Panic to
somewhere in Australia. I think maybe Queensland and New
South Wales who specializes in SMS, that's all he does.
Restore them. Well, I can't believe he's got
enough work. Have you heard of that?
I have it's in New South Wales and it's somewhere really obscure like Pamela. Yeah.
Or or Tetra? Tetra or somewhere on the coast.
Yeah. Yeah.
Well you surely they didn't make that many of them.
All right, twelve million. No 1.5 million dollar bill.
Yeah, I guess now liked what it made out of.
How many did they make? Let's have never made in right
hand drive. I don't think they're all
converted the right-hand Drive. Yeah, I think that's true.
They only made 12,900 of them apparently.
Okay, so the quite a beautiful rare car to find tall with 12,900 made over 40 years old. Now, really interesting looking
car. They came with V6 But a lot of
people converted him for a bit more power to the you Rocco, mesoraco SS model instead of just the standard you, you raised a motive just lying around everywhere.
You can get a you Rocco motor Summit, put the name of the car.
Now, it's, that's what to do my head in the Maserati.
My rack Rack marac. That's it.
Mirakian, Iraq ss-sorry. That's yeah.
That's the Car. If you wanted to be more power
to the engine out of that, same engine, just been more bit, more grunt, pop it in their and bolted.
You know, they actually did a lot of, though, she raced in quite quite quite simply to choose, which is, which is quite funny body. Roll night, at least be
comfortable David. So, doesn't it?
Well, I think that's it for us tonight, guys.
