Northwest FM, I am your host Ellen joined Avaya zoo with Mr.
Met EJ happening there's two year along with as always squared. Oh and mr.
Rosetta and we also got Mark Allen.
Today they go Mark. All right, pretty good.
We're also being joined, so as a late Comer by mr.
Patrick never how you doing Patrick, when you get on, can you hear Are you there loud and clear without and Claire?
I'm here, mr. Patrick, for Y2, now.
Yeah, here we go. Well, how are you?
My friend, how's it going? How's it going?
On your end. I am going good.
You know how some more DMX news, which is positive.
We'll go over that. We do some carpets but it has
everyone else doing pretty good morning.
My end. What about you raise your us?
We hear we lie and Scotty. I am doing quite well.
Thank you very much and Patrick I'm doing.
Alright, I can't complain. I'm I'm all good.
What would we get some contacts straight off the bat before you enter tonight's topic, Rizzi, Ross updates with you, man.
What's happening in your and seeing as you're the one that's good to go. Yes, the gents.
I got some big news, I don't know if it's, if it's big enough news or not and our men never be allowed to get back onto this this podcast after this. But the Cerrado is no longer in
my stable anymore, how you sold its God, it's gone back to it.
Its roots. Its heading back to Korea as we
speak on to the racetrack in the Korean racing circuit where it belongs. Nice.
Just ended up in Ventura somewhere cause ya know, that's a, that's that's gone and I'm back to my two vehicles at the moment and to high-end electric vehicles, a high-end.
But, you know, I'll come back to this.
Found in a couple of weeks time when I will have the byd for 10 to 14 days become. So when I do that, we might have
to do a Car Tool special in Hadfield where we can make it all happen. So now at the moment, just back
to back to my red car and yeah, no more.
Petrol cars for the moment. Mark, we'll have you out in a
couple of weeks. How you doing my friend?
Good to have you back. What?
I'm surprised that you agreed to come back on the show with us us us idiots. So you're so welcome back to the
show updates with you. With what's happening with your
two cars. I hope you've been.
Well, what's happening? Okay, recovering from lack of
sleep. Thanks so, young one.
But honestly, I haven't done a little bit of homework on one character. Lonely.
Roll up and such as I finally figured out why it has a misfire in the high boost. So so you actually so yeah
should be good at so I figured it out.
I found the evidence. Roll temperature range, spark
plugs. Yeah.
Okay. It is hard to tell.
You can see Crossfire but it's hard to spot where your any 85 is a lean finally. So did you put a hotter plug or
colder? Plug it haha.
Okay and yeah I thought that run out the got Great Ocean Road and didn't have a single misfire or wish you the whole way.
Is that is that card a flex-fuel truancy?
Can put down the aisle in it, or does it started?
It's flexible. Okay, good.
Yeah, because it's going to say the graduation rate, you might get very far. No, not really any giving it
stick on 98 and you're going to get three, four hundred case of attack, and then you put he 85 and it's in the you looking for petrol stations pretty frequently.
Yeah, I think that's my brother's going through that same issue at the moment with this guy, just like he's putting his puts a fuel a full tank in it.
Once a week of 85, And he does about 100 case so that says all you need to know about ethanol. Just absolutely Birds.
Yeah. But otherwise, we're all good
with the the Orion and the Corolla the other Corolla you never gonna have a problem with it.
Then the Orion chasing the usual gearbox, they have gearbox transmission fluid, okay. That's trying to do for the
service on a function. Better off.
I've got the Toyota software so I might be able to sleep in up.
They can do it. How many cases outdone 98 them?
Okay, could my daughter got the same car?
This is done just hit 70,000 so I'm hoping that it doesn't break if you've ever recommending a transmission service, even though they're playing they're sealed for Life.
Their life is only 200,000 cases.
If that's all you want wife to be completely agree with you there. Hello.
Not those with you. Start with the smaller ones, my
brother-in-law and sister went to Adelaide for wedding so they have been dropping them off the airport and also you know because I'm already doing them a favor model.
Do another one I pick up my brother was cars from mechanic.
Yeah. Because you know nothing nothing
like kicking a man while he's down because more like they're going to take me to the mechanic and you know, they need my help.
No, I have to make my own way to the mechanic and I walk there.
Thanks to his own about three case.
Um but it was over some treacherous terrain, got the picked up his, his Rexy or my old Roxy and I was pleased to see that he had a tipped over 300,000.
Ches there you go. Yeah, still going strong.
So Corporate America and you just gave it a try at home and you know that's a fun with it. Nothing to you know dangerous
but yeah, it was nice to be in the car again and went back to my today in the in the wrecks and then, you know, Throw myself off a moment and let them take the car.
Please. This is pretty solid.
Nice to see, you know, throw the car.
Again, I saw his little service list, I think it's bent of a thousand dollars on different stuff.
How can we do? Get done.
Yeah, he had his coolant, overflow bottle was cracked or something that to get replaced, break flush clutch fluid flush regular service along with Sofia, I think they polish His head lamps again because I keep going out.
I told him to get new ones. Yeah, quite a few other things
that I've kind of skipped my mind.
Those are quite extensive service.
And again, I have to pay for that because I'll see you guys in prison to foot the bill, but he will give me back.
That's right. Yeah.
So I thought if he's got the, he's got his clutch, floodlit, and I was thinking myself because the MX-5 occasionally shifting into third, if you should feel fast at a low speed, it will want to grind. But he's shifting faster, higher
speed, it's a just Glides right in.
So I thought maybe it's more of, you know, I had the transmission fluid changed and improved a little bit, but not too much.
So maybe, you know, the clutch logs worth looking at and are openly the reservoir the master cylinder and it is discussed.
Like not only is like dark fluid.
There's like bits of black just floating around in there.
Well, this is just need to change.
I'm not a mechanic, but just needs to change.
So, I got the old, you know, little syringe thing.
Pull out, whatever floor. I can top it off with fresh food
and then today, I checked it up the slaves on this kind of really easily accessible right under the front.
Driver's side tire. So I put a little plastic tube
on their crack. Open.
The bleeder, and just not pumping the the clutch and unfortunately the tube that I put on was a bit too big.
So all the fluid just end up on the ground which, you know, and so this is out of the car anymore, I'll take it.
So yeah, like I heard that I went through about three, at least three different polls on, filling up the reservoir.
Again, make sure all the lines, clear.
And then like any good home mechanic I called out to my mom, like, mom come here, I need you to get in the car and press the clutch lining up right off, but try not be able to help just to make sure they're wearing really, and that's definitely a difference when the clutch is a lot lighter and just, yeah, all the shifts are really nice. Yeah, so definitely worthwhile
thing, you know, I got to use my My to Pro Impact, recta retches.
Well, you know, to take out the take off the wheel nuts, not to take them under just lightly but to take them off here happy to go with the. In fact I feel like a real, you
know, mechanic the F1 the, you know, but yeah.
Like a bit of her maintenance. I'm always about that.
I'm pretty sure my brother will play it about $90 for years clutch fluid flush. And I've had about ten.
So yeah, sometimes do maintenance is worth it.
Um, final bit of news. Actually, I don't know if
Tiffany last week, what we were in the sale of the Essex for, but that's officially Nathan's name.
Now he actually drove to the station today.
Very good, very good looking, nice and shiny, and the D-Max will be ready to pick up on Thursday.
Hey, yeah, the one that like the, the dealership always gives me trouble just like I told them ahead of time that I said we were going to If Finance it for lack of a better term and just tell us beforehand. Like, I told many times, I just
tells what I'll check made out to or if you are going to go by bank transfer, give me the details ahead of her.
Yeah. And so today, I went to drop off
the number plates. Are we going to have in the car?
And he said, well we're not taking checks anymore because somebody made a fraudulent bag check.
So, putting a freeze on checks. He couldn't tell me that little
bit ahead of time. Yeah, there's my maximum daily
transfer limit is 25 thousand. It's going to take three days to
kind of fill that amount. So if I'll try and go to the
branch tomorrow, see if I can do a lot of transfer through the branch, if I can't, I'm basically going to do two lots of 25 and then take eleven thousand dollars cash into the dealership on Thursday and be like you deal with this, you know, I love you and I both know what the legit.
Of paying for vehicle is it's obviously true, the most secure platform and yes sometimes you know, we can bring in a check and they won't know what to do with it.
But the most secure payment. Gateway is why Optus is full
legit haha, dealership transfer service.
Everything that you sent gets transferred, it might not get transferred into the dealerships name but to one of their newest hire exact Gladys periodically in.
Yeah, And so, you know, I'm saying, if you want to pay, that's the only way these dealerships take the funds these days throughout. This is secure payment.
Gateway that, you know, no cyberattack can get through that. It's legit legit.
You know what, you're on the I signed up for the a little class action. Nothing really came of it but
you know now my going to check a $5 someday in the future.
Well did they take you out of curiosity?
Did I hear correctly? Telstra get hacked today, they
can't their customer service is so good, straight from Mumbai.
It's probably the same people working in the call centers hacking them while they're working.
They're gonna be shinzon very good inside job.
So look the D-backs is on Thursday.
What times delivery? I think it's I think it's
somewhere in the afternoon times in short.
The only question is again, I think once you pay more than ten thousand dollars cash you do that little paperwork thing.
So that's that's that's part of Kind of pain me off like everything's kosher, you know, everything's above board but just boys. Yeah.
Well you know, called to the 80 Euro corner, I counted.
It is so it's this I'd prefer not to have to do any extra paperwork and I've already waited long enough and I might try and convince him to let me pay like about, let's say 2000 is on credit card and the amount will be under 10 and then you know it will be you know technically I was getting the law but it sounds terrible. I can if you go into the bank,
they'll let you anyway. Hopefully, hopefully that'll be
tomorrow's. I couldn't think, well, they
wouldn't, but not when I went to the bank to purchase, which I'll discuss later and I too because I think I want to obviously, to pay for mine for cash, if it normally, they would those hey, to of, normally give us at least 3 days in advance beforehand, to know that you won't give drawing like ice more than 10,000.
But in some bug in my case and probably hopefully in your case they can make anyone off exception.
If you have say, I've never done it before and they can hopefully on that spot on that day. Pull it all.
Yeah get my cancer is if I go to the bank it will still be an electronic transfer so I don't need them to front the cash at the very least you'll just be just send the funds from my account of their account. But sometimes Banks can be, you
know, a little picky with how you use your money which which is another topic for another day.
I guess you know cattle against the things with you got to go out to come on quickly and we'll talk to you know eyes and if Anyone wants a full legit way of transferring money.
I've just opened a new Finance transfer service, AAA Finance.
Take it easy research but it's exciting man.
New car on the horizon for you Alan deep Singh.
Yeah. Like it's I think it's
fortuitous timing. We're going to get the hopefully
knock on wood because they recently broke a window in the new house. They're going to get the keys to
the new house on Friday. Cool.
So moving things into the house. I'll be a lot more helpful with
a big ol Ute than with what cause we've got right now because, yeah, we've got the Falcon.
And then you've got the, MX-5 the Falcon B Store, a few things that's at least big but there's no hatch.
And then the MX-5, you know, if you like it, get a grocery bag in there, I'll bring the MR2 won't be much help.
So, he'll be there for support moral support.
Absolutely. Scotty up those with you mean
nothing to Super Duper Siding. I am, as I said last week, I was
going to clean underneath the 31, so we've got underneath there. Gave it a really good clean.
Lot of like built up Gunk and everything that's all around.
Neither power steering pump and up on the suspension arms all under there. So cleaned all that off.
I don't really see any new fresh leaks or anything.
Everything looks really old nothing.
New nothing, really wet under there just very gunky.
So I've cleaned all That off, hopefully stays that way and stays looking nice and clean. What else?
Just bought a couple more suspension bushes.
So I've got some sway bar mounts, bushes coming for the front and what else did I get? Kosta rods and bushes.
They got the super pro. Bush has already attached to it.
Other than me, just buying the bushes and putting them all in.
It's already the whole thing. So, Straight in, try to make it
as easy as possible, then having to get bushes pressed in and everything like that can be a bit messy, but I'll have to do that probably for the rears because it needs really trailing arm pushes. But that will have to wait a
little bit longer because there's a lot of them and they're a bit more pricier than what I just paid for those other two. Other two bushes.
I mean the cost of rods and bushes was only only I paid, I think 50 bucks. I'm just pretty good.
Then the mounts were only like 20.
I'm out pushes. We're only about 20 bucks.
She thought yep. Why not get those done.
They are ticked off the list so I made a whole list of all the kind of suspension bushes that I've got and want.
I still might need just to try and keep track because I don't know if it's just me but it's really confusing.
When it comes to suspension parts and suspension bushes because they called different things and some people might call it something and then so it's yeah it's like different meanings with some of them. Some people might not call them
cast the bushes and might have another name and things like that so I guess really complicated.
So I've got it all written down so I've got a better idea of what I'm doing and what I need and what I've already got my father issue all the time especially when people come say hey I've got a Right right front, I need a whatever it is and then you look up and this is a non, the seems completely different. And I know, but like, I know,
like, for example, like when they say or Addy Bush, you know, there's they're not called the bushes on the thing, but some people call Maddie Bush and see be like, oh yes, you have to the, the sway bar, the the sway bar, you know, mounting bushes and they like our I think so. This is what it looks like
though. Like I yeah that's the ones.
So yeah, can totally understand about He gets pretty confusing especially like I've had people when I worked with you coming in. You know there are some bushes
and then you say is an upper or lower and they're like, oh yeah, it's very small. So it's just yeah it's pretty
confusing under there. All the suspension bits and
pieces and bushes and people calling him different things.
So, But that's alright. I'll get my head around it.
Hopefully that's some bits and pieces ready to go on.
You know, I was having to look with that, you know, the whole kit that I got and I showed you. Yeah.
In the Box, the whole thing. Let's have a look underneath
quickly and like there's a couple of them.
I don't even know where they go. Yeah, some the front but I don't
know. I could match it.
I was like it's somewhere under there but I can't exactly Spotify self be hidin under something.
Well, it should feel a lot better that now that it's going to be open. Boost and everything.
It should feel a lot tighter. And yeah, dude, it would be been
a better car to drive. Yep.
That's the aim. Get it looking and feeling, nice
and tight. And the aim is also classic
Japan. So yeah, coming up my friend,
it's coming up. That is getting very close.
The next step is to get all these bushes.
Get someone fit them all for me. Well, looks like I've got maybe
something lined up for their cause I said last time the air flow meter yeah some might have something lined up that's brand-new and half the price of the remanufactured versions of its. Oh hell yeah.
Give that we'll see if it works because I was looking like, you know, you can buy second-hand ones but how do I know how long that's going to last? Yeah, you know, pick up second
hand, 150 bucks that could be 50 bucks thrown away that might only last a month and then I'm back to square one again soon.
But I forget something. He's got a bit of a warranty on
it too. Absolutely.
Yep. Totally agree.
So why not? I think that's about it for me
and Patrick well, it's been a while since I've been on, so that's been. So you've got a lot of new
updates. Mr. Pastor, Patrick.
So I know Alan was making reference to this earlier.
Yes. So, last time I can recall, I
was on the hunt. Obviously, I saw them as long as
it's gone and I was on the hunt for a n60 Hilux.
I like to inform everyone that I've purchased not an M60 but an n70 2006's are Hilux nice. Yeah Ilia for be gang.
So whether I'm sold on the podcast or not, I'll come back but yeah. Finally, I got a
four-wheel-drive bit more suited.
For obviously, my wife start right now, with work, going camping up to the snow and all that.
So I needed something more. Or, you know, practical for
that. So getting that car was another
mission in itself. Let me tell you just in the
roadworthy taking forever to get done.
The lady know, the joke at work coming, I don't actually own the car. It's a rental, but it was a
head. Fuck.
Why. At the end it was all worth it
because then I had the cast fantastic.
So quick rundown on the car. Obviously 2006's are 4x4 Alan
not for, by two or more mates on Facebook.
It's a 4x4. He always hikes 1, KD 3, litre,
turbodiesel 5-speed manual, it's white, and it's, they're all white. That's right.
Oh, oh right. Yeah some goodies with the
cards, God believe 30s or 31's. All terrains, all around.
It's going to two inch lift to the top.
In the on the back. It's got brand new Iron, Man.
4x4 Bull Bar, brand new brush bars, brand-new Rock, sliders.
I am in full by for snorkel house is her aftermarket Sony.
Apple carplay head unit with the reverse camera wide in which is handy because it's dropping that now compared to driving a little mezcla. He's not in the day parking, it
is a nightmare in itself but we're getting there.
It's got a long-range fuel tank which I know.
I don't know how big it is because I don't have the pocket test that just yeah. Everyone's asking me how big it
is. I don't know.
B thing's big enough. This is pretty good so far.
Yeah. It's it was owned by obviously
the guy bored of you obviously would have bought it from another person's. He just flipped, it was flipping
and selling them, but the original owner was an older gentleman that. I like that toad.
A lot of these are had a camp around or something.
They did obviously lot of like trips like that.
So that's why hence, why the with the long-range tank which is Good. It's got to 77 on the body, but
it had a new motor in, with around 170, 180 thousand case on it. Okay.
So, it's all right, it isn't, it is in the, the new agenda common-rail, it is direct injection.
So far, the my mechanic went over when he went over it, he said the things fantastic, only thing that worries me, but doesn't worry me, but I'm still just kind of in the back of my head is because obviously those one Cadiz Inject, the issues that guy obviously when they go to place injectors, obviously, being a Diesels or lot more but so far so good.
Hopefully, you know, knock on wood, I do run into that, but yeah, not the cars. Fantastic.
I think it's had some aftermarket exhaust done to it as well because it does sound nice and sooty.
I won't put that word. It's got nice turbo dose, which
is cool. Because technically, this is my
now first turbocharged vehicle. I can't believe you this beat a
Surya to being your first time. A child vehicle, like it was a
hard pill to swallow. Don't get me wrong because funny
enough the same day I paid for this guy.
Gave the guy the cash for the arm for this, the Hilux straight away. I saw Marketplace and as 13 so
no Marketplace my arm and my mom, my family friends.
His other friend had a manual. Red talk Turbo S 13 for sale and
it was going to was nothing wrong with the tire.
I just had it for years and just wanted a quick sell and I'm because I was a new mother, I'm close friend, my family friend and he knew him, he was willing to give me the car for 16 Grand, which kills, I'm still feeling it now.
I'm so feeling it now, but look, it is always, I haven't given up, I will never This is, this doesn't mean that I've completely abandoned street cars.
Altogether. Not at all.
I'm even now. I'm still looking at, you know,
Sylvia's and whatnot. Hopefully know, maybe by next
year or something. It's just how I am with work and
everything. Now is just I needed to you.
Yeah. So it's a different change of
pace. It's cool.
It's cool driving that around with the big lifted cards.
It's weird. But, you know, Not regretting
out also. Yeah, I got a few things and
plan for them plan obviously put the basics.
I've got a roof rack on Earth, ordnung, go tub, rack setup, spotlights UHF, and that's pretty much a boost and EGT gauge catch can and that's it. Just enjoy it.
Toyota durability, the real question here, Patrick is, doesn't already have what do you plan on putting a bush pig sticker on it? Because that's the point at
which we could go the podcast. Bush pig sticker on it.
I'll put one on it. But what we're talking about
stickers, they are obviously am older brothers, got the 80 series Land Cruiser, the night, I brought it home.
He's like I got a surprise for you.
I'm like, what is it? Like, close your eyes.
He goes, you put the sticker on the back of my car and it's funnily enough. It says, when I grow up, I want
to be a Land Cruiser. Yeah, which is cool.
I write it is. It's a stick of butter.
Yeah. Not was a lot of stickers
planning to cover that back windscreen.
It's very time very soon. So yeah, no, it's exciting.
It's, I'm different but, you know, looking forward towards a future old and my, I know my arm.
I just want to leave it at this is that, you know, for everyone that's, you know, I can tell that matter.
You're upset that I didn't get the Sylvia and a lot of people are. A lot of people are, don't get
me wrong, I love my friends are But my justification is, you know, because it's a Nissen, it's going to break.
We'll break down everyday, so it's okay if Uncle tow it, that's my excuse. At least you could tell with the
with the Hilux, man. That.
That's that's the missing anything about congrats.
Make what I'm happy for you. Got your that you got.
You got got a good new car, it'll work just be able to just keep on top of maintenance on those and what my issue with those things and ranges and white people driving like their race cars. They're not, they're not made to
be. The crap out of the so.
So does I'm gonna be sitting on the limit our and yeah, not not, of course, not look to be Fair Isle, I'm not going to sit here and act like I'm, you know, I know everything because the first few days I got it, you know I thought you know it was something it was something else like it.
So I thought it was like a, you know, like a super ass.
I mean, like I said Toyota turbo, it's pretty much a super I learned that very quick learnt that very quick.
It's not at all but that's got Plenty of talk for down low and as well with a typically driving.
I'm driving every day, it's in for, but it is in two-wheel drive because there's no way in the, in the tub.
Remember then I picked it up it was raining going around around event around the belt, had some, you know, Falcon memories in that. You know, I was shocked me.
It shocked me quite a bit. I came to my senses quickly,
like, okay, this is, you know, get myself into some serious trouble with this. So, But yeah, like I get going
to be a lot of people, you know, thrash him which is why there's so many just completely thrush oneself to be played.
As you know, they abuse them. Don't know look after them for
what they are. And just give me a poke about
it. Patrick, did you ever spend any
time on two wheels in this car? On two wheels.
Hmm. What do you mean?
Maybe going around the corner of it too fast and they're realizing that. Once again, as you said, it's
not a super if it's highlights too big and tall and heavy.
Yes, yeah. And maybe spending a bit of time
to wheels for a second or two, not real, until wheels just more. Like, you know why not one?
I'm looking this way by my ass is all the way out in Dallas that says yeah but Yeah, that's my box minute.
Sorry, I wanna talk to ya. Nah.
Nah I'm not going to want to make you with his Patrol and remove this way about links and just yeah you can completely now. I like the life.
Thank you. Yeah, that's me.
Congrats. My thought that's really that's
really, really good. Mark Mark, will be happy now
because my guy, so you'll be you'll be good.
Yeah, I drove to Adelaide on Wednesday.
So last week, as you guys put beans and the show would know that guy went to Adelaide did the Great Ocean Road.
So I took the wall with my sister.
So we we drove the forest on Wildfire, so, which is now our first are now I'm, I got it on to the Greta.
Sure, I don't like, I missed this car.
It is so much fun. Anyway, I'm On the other guys
run and you know pulling doesn't feel more durable and I check my phone because I didn't get my phone cause I was going ham, the whole time was great and I get a message from from one of my old students who I used to teach you like, if you finish the while ago and he's like, he's like I just saw you going ham on the great ocean, right? But I like lovely that's that's
yeah. Makes makes me look like a very
responsible manner. I'll be a good example for kids.
Kids in my your level. No, he was a year or two after
you like so but ye he he had had a bit of a giggle about it and then I'm so we drove it all around the coast, we set of it, we started at 99 Mountain Gambia and then dropped out early the next day and just hang around a delayed for a day or two, did some Wineries and then came back on Saturday during Just drugs, just rub the quick way back from Adelaide, but my sister was driving us into into essay. So we pulled over at the sign
and and I'm like, oh there's only one way to get into into South Australia's, you know, foot to the floor at 110 zone.
So she she launches the forest are his limit.
I like I'm now she's going to kill the car that gets the next gear just keeps going. She's like, oh well I guess
we're in Adelaide. Do we win?
They say now Mike Mike you really are my sister aren't you know like that's that's what that's what we're We're not too far too far apart in that in that way, but I know it was, it was good. It was, it was, it was good to
drive that car again and because I haven't given the current a very long time. So I was like, I said to myself,
why the hell did I get rid of it?
It's just does everything. It's practical, its fast, it
sounds good, it looks good, but then I got home and I saw the figure so I was like, okay, yeah, I can see why I kind of, kind of change up a little bit, so, So that was that Scotty?
Here's one for you. Yeah, I'm a Sadie's is going.
Oh yes, it's going on Saturday. It's going.
It's going to is being driven up on Saturday, to Coffs, Harbour, and to Grafton and all that area.
So basically my uncle, he's a great to buy it and he's made some coming down and he's just going to drive it back up.
So I'm like, oh I'm sure I haven't gotten it fixed yet and he calls me like a Michael called me late.
Yes. Like Hey we're going to make
coming down. These you be down tomorrow you
might is you come and get the car mom.
Like by the car's. Not working properly yet.
It's still broken. So I this morning I had before
work, I hope that it and drove it to to by mechanic, but on the way they are turning onto the freeway decided to stop and and I was like, I was like, yeah, this is story of this.
Obviously, the car now knows that it's going.
And it's like, saying, you know what?
Man I'm going to give you all the hell that you can ever.
I deserve right now. So I really want to keep it
running was by having the revs up a little bit.
So I had it in like a lower gear and sitting about three on the freeway and I was coming off the freeway to go to Cooper Street.
I turned red in my corner, if I stop.
I'm gonna I'm gonna I'm going to call get, so I just threw it into neutral and kept my foot. Like, legit almost always only
but I just just holding it. So it's so didn't die out.
New challenge, new to drop that a little bit and then got it to the mechanics are anyhow, as I'm turning into the mechanics into the driveway. It's like half up on a hill, it
stalls. And I couldn't get it started
again. So read it.
That that's where it died. Scotty running this down, Fred.
I'm typing it right now. Now, let's go.
Thank you, right? So so yeah, we have to push it
the last little bit of the distance but Run as long as I could, because it sounds like it's a, it's like getting spark.
And it sure enough, it's not getting spark.
You put a new coil it up. I just thought it's going to put
in a group shot. You put a new coil, it it
started, but then it killed that coil.
So something's something's going on and it's not doing well.
So I'm like right now I need this car back ASAP is it is going and it repaired and he just shook his head of me and just walked away. So then so then I go back to
work and yeah we will he's like I need a couple more days, just try figured out. So hopefully with the next day
or two We'll be with the other guy and it will be on its way.
Hopefully fingers crossed, not missing a beat like it's done previously. Getting to the top of New South
Wales and safe and sound. So B, that was my events with
the with the Merc Scotty just just just so, you know, that was it was but yeah, that's been pretty much it's on my end gentlemen. Now, tonight, we're going to
discuss a few things that we're doing our like, Patrick and Mark you in here last week, but we're doing L real.
The world's Extravaganza of cars from different countries.
Last week we did Italy. And I know in the comments on
Facebook, was it was, it was a real good one.
I think was James busily said, you forgot, like, d Tomaso Pantera and I'm like, oh, that's a cracker for for Italy.
Yeah, yeah, big big. Cleveland American palate V8 in
a good-looking Italian car. That's that's one way to to do
well. So seeing as he said that, I
think we're going to America this week to the United States of Freedom. Your favorite cars from America
and why, and And basically, what would you would happily have in your garage if you had all the money's in the world?
Now Mark I don't you're a bit of a Japanese guy but I'm speaking to you old man. He likes old Fords.
So is there anything in America that that kind of tickle your fancy? We almost got off the top of my
head so we can come back to you. Scotty.
What about you? I would always start with the
Mustang. I know David's not here and he's
Mustang, he's not a fan but yeah, always been a massive fan of the Mustangs. If I wanted to get super picky,
I would probably count out the 65 and 66 only because I'm not a huge fan of the taillights. I know it's super picky, but I'm
saying, if I was being super picky, I'd probably say.
No, I don't really like the taillights that much.
They seem very small. I prefer when they move.
Into the 67 68. Yeah.
Variant of the taillights. It's just I know something
about. It's just what I prefer.
They finish quite nicely. Yeah, they kind of go inwards as
opposed to going small and outwards in the 64 and 65 and 66. And then with the Mustangs
moving to the 70s, they started to get pretty boxy early. 70 71
and stuff. I'm not a huge fan.
I think I became a fan of them again in the early 2000s with that shaped as coming out there and ran 2002-2004, that kind of shape. And yeah, ever since then,
they've been doing pretty good. I reckoned that the brand new
one that's coming out now. Looks what really good looks
better than the previous models that are still going at the moment. I'd actually prefer it,
fantastic. Oh, I watch the launch of the
new Mustang and I was like, oh, I want wonder what its gonna look like, and then seeing it seeing it.
I was like, actually, this car looks pretty top.
It's like, it's an evolution, not a revolution of the, the current shape it. It's, it's basically, they've
got all the Curves in the right spot.
It looks tough, it looks aggressive.
And then what I like, what they're doing with this when they're differentiating it from like your model to models are like before You have to have a better look if it was a GT or if it was a EcoBoost Mustang. Now, you can tell.
It's got the look at different phases.
They got different this different that so you'll be able to definitely tell them differentiate them.
But I also like how they're changing the Interiors on the new one that that's coming. It's not having the traditional
to kind of like little hump Arrangement that the voice had they've gone to the screen and stuff.
So yeah, I went to see one in person actually.
I think that'll be good looking car.
Yeah, I like to see it in person because I reckon when you see like the 2019 2020 Mustangs in person, not massive, massive fan of it. I know something seems a little
bit off when I look at them. Are not sure what it is.
I can't put my finger on it but needs needs something.
I don't know what it is and I feel whatever they've done with this one. That's filled that Gap.
Whatever it was and big fan. Probably they have you seen the
that's just been released. I have an eye.
I agree with Scotty. Like it's made like enough
change where it's hot. But it just feels more correct.
Yeah, I think some people have competitive like, some of the original Mustangs and shown how its kind of imitate the shape even more and that might be the reason.
Yeah. And what about you Elam?
If you like when you just say Mustangs are up the bad as well, like Scotty or I definitely wouldn't put my sank straight like on the list. But I think to start, I'd
probably throw down the Ford Model T because it's kind of the oh gee, you know, it's what gave the world kind of the full wheel. Action as the first
mass-produced kind of car. That's why we are in cars like
we are today. You know, otherwise, we probably
would've known something different.
Maybe we're going on three wheels as well, you know, something with I would have had electric motors in a lot earlier. We're like a little cold thing
that's like making steep making Steam and then like making a turbine Spin and do something like that.
Yeah, there's plenty of designs that ends up failing over time.
So I think a bit of respect has to go to good old mr.
Henry Ford. And his mom too Given given the
world a much quicker, way to get from A to B and also kind of allowing people to get hurt because a little as a result because, you know, we could have the street used to be a much more open area. Back in the day, he was a shared
space for, you know, you carts and people and everything else and now really, it's become a, it's comes cars domain.
Now, you're, you know, you caught jaywalking if you're on the street so it wasn't leaders, but Lee, you know it's given that the average person especially in the you know, well I Western countries the oldest real access to kind of the world around them. Like you know Patrick's got his
most full boy for Hilux, you know, being able to go camping at that sort of thing. You know, the fact that you can
get there the morning and then stay the day if you really want to do or stay a few days and come back all thanks to cars.
Script, what are you Patrick is in any, any American how particular that you be like, wow, I hate that's a car that, you know, I'd love to give a short Like sets, pretty much time is Scott. He's answering, I'll probably go
for a Mustang. You know, if we go over talking,
like the OG all the Mustang gear, then off to Barb is 67 Fastback, you know, no questions, no doubt.
That's will be my dream pick. However, as well up there, if I
could have to, or if I couldn't have, if Scotty took the the Fastback and I need to get a replacement funny enough.
I mean, you probably could see this in me but even though they're not as found Looked upon and favorite upon, I've got you kind of like him a lot. I love the fox body Mustangs.
I agree. So I would love a 93 SVT.
I think there are crack of a car.
You do something that you're a special car, unique car.
And yeah, now that that will probably be another hot if I couldn't get a 67. Definitely a 93 Fox body as
sleeping. Something about a fox body lot
like a cobra. Your folks believe that I just
like, and I kind of help but, but like, I think, I think my, it's our for our love with Japanese cars.
So, I feel like that styling of the fox body is very heavily influenced by that. I guess that's why, you know by,
you know, a lot of, you know, American Puris and they love their muscle for your state, despise it because it's like the Casillas to plastic plastic plastic and all that.
I like to box your whereas us, you know, You know, who love Japanese cars. That's pretty much what they
are, which is why I think we're so drawn to the arm that fox body styles. So yeah, now I've ever since,
you know, I've been seeing around on the Internet or whatever around, it's just, yeah, I would love to own one especially if I obviously SVT Cobra now, that's like cream of the crop of 100% take their. So yeah, that would be my arm,
my pick. I think the beauty about the fox
body. It's kind of like America's is
chassis. Really?
Like like, like big honest, it really is that they had many different engine options. I had the SVO, which was tough
to turbocharge 2.3 liter 4 cylinder also, which was like
the quickest Mustang at the time when it when it came out and and, and you got your your your got your, you know, your your fire though and stuff. But the good thing about a
Mustang for me and this is the reason why I'm making that make the reference next next to a like.
Next one is chassis car. Their car that they've sold
millions of and people just customize them how they wanted to and did things like made them.
You can make them. If you want to dry cup bam.
You got to give it a grade Raikou.
If you want to, if you want to show on a drift car up.
Yep. You can do you know that that
rear axle, that solid rear axle can just can take you sideways if you want to, if you want to like a road racing car, you can definitely do it as well. Like there's off the market go
lawful for them. So it's one of those cars where
you can essentially just just make it how you want to make it.
And I think it's yeah. I there's not many cars that you
can say that that are like that. And The Mustangs to this day.
I still much much like that. Like people like the aftermarket
seen from for a Mustang is bloody next next to next to the best in the world, really. So I think that looks pretty
much thinking in particular, is that, is that, you know, Fox platform I should say, mustang is one of those is one of those cars that they're just do kind of personifies.
You know, that Lego building kind of make it how you want to make it car and massive respect for three, that kind of popped up. Like I said, the 67 Mustang
would be a really nice carpet, be realistic.
I'm probably never gonna do afford something like that and it would be under appreciated with me.
But to that kind of yeah, I remember from my childhood would be and I will see you tomorrow for the Pontiac dirty, quite a nice car. I don't know, I go all about
them other than they sound good, they look good.
And I've always had a sauce or any back to their old Matchbox cars as a kid. Absolutely.
Those are the two that actually Laughter, there's just something about American Muscle causes neither, like they just like, okay, yeah, back in the day, they didn't really handles up, but now, like a GT500 or gt350r, is one of the one of the best year. Road front-engine
rear-wheel-drive cars you can buy on the market, but there's just something about a muscle car, like, they always looked good, there they make a great noise, they were over the top, they were just crazy and they kind of get a certain set of aspect of like, yeah, you gotta come Mauro.
Yeah you got to go to Firebird. Yeah you got this and it's cool.
You know there's an instant cool Factor about them like nominee cars. Can you can say can have an
instant cool Factor. Yeah, you know, I mean like so
yeah I think I think the Americans have got a really good way, a good way of doing. I mean put it this way as we
know from last week and and Harley since particular Vanilla Ice in his 5.0 Mustang he made one a song about it.
But also to in the Luther, he's bigger song.
He's talking about his 5.0 Mustang you know, like that's
It's a, it's a yeah it's kind of a status symbol over there.
Really. I think their golden years is
golden decades is 60s and 70s for me.
That's when they release like every single kind of muscle car.
Anything that came out I looked at and thought that looks fantastic. And this, a lot of obscure names
that I didn't even know existed back then with the help from roadkill learning a lot more about them.
And seeing, although, The old cars, you know, Plymouth with the duster I think looks awesome.
I love that car Dodge with challenges and charges.
Then you got again, the Barracuda.
There's just heaps of awesome. Muscle cars that were coming out
all the time in the 60s and 70s and they all just look tough.
It's the way they say that, the way they kind of just own the road back, then whether it's got a massive V8 or not, but it was just interesting to see How easy it is to swap, all kinds of different engines. You know, you had so many
options back then from just a slanted 6 all the way to, you know, massive seven liter V8 and that back then like huge and they all fit in there, you know, there was, you know, I was watching that a Dodge Charger and they grab them a big old, like seven liter, V8 out of an old Dodge, camper van and put that into the charger. And there was fine, fitted are
straight. Took it out Banks trading off it
went and it was awesome. Just to think that they've got
all that sitting around makes me pretty jealous because you walk into our car, our scrap yards and stuff.
You're not going to find anything anywhere near as cool as that just a whole bunch of holding Cruisers and this is some pretty ordinary stuff but no II agree with you.
Like I think every country has had the kind of Golden Era.
And in particular the sixties and seventies was America's gone. You're like they like Everything
they did was just balls to the wall you know didn't matter if we were gone it was it was a horsepower or really at the end of the day and at Scott mean it's kind of like it's kind of rejuvenated in the last like let's say 10 or so years with Ford and Chevy and Dodge not getting their crap together and just saying, well I'm going to have a bigger, you know, compensating package than you. So it's basically it's just
going going and going and going and going and we get to the point now where it's just like they're just Stupidly powerful.
Why? There's just, it's just
ridiculous. However, but is just how
reliable they are now. Yeah, absolutely like no, you're
making 700 horsepower. Reliably warranty is crazy.
Like if you have your decided to say to anybody like 10 years ago, not even not, even not even that, you know, you can have a 700 horsepower, reliable car. People would laugh at you be
like, like what are you on drugs that, you know, are over when the I was reading an article and and It was about the Dodge, Dodge Viper. When I first came out, had 400
horsepower. All right, it was a car with a
policy, 400 horsepower. Again, this is this, this is
not. This is, this is insane.
You know, I really think it's that came out in the 90s, right?
So it's yeah, it's 30 years since then, and we're pushing well, well, well past that with more torque, more reliability, it's insane. It's actually Insanity me.
The drive to the original Dodge Viper.
From what I heard was absolute pig to dry?
I've it was a tractor that's that's yeah Patrick we know about we know about charges. Sorry wipers do me with the from
that day because Joy do maybe sure do crack of a car but yeah, man, just reliability wise, just out through the window, man.
Just yeah. I mean I mean that's the best.
What you get, you know, in the time where you know your technology is not up there and you pretty much just slap everything, all the bells and whistles just because you could and you can and they did it these days, I would say there's a lot more Asians and the milk is a conservative, but bath and people just you wanna, you know, 56 lady.
Want to six litre. V10, you know, small lightweight
chassis. Why not throw it in?
Make a real would drive, no tape, no trash cans, or none of that Chuck it in and they did and they didn't and things.
It worked like, for a period, but like, the recipe like the recipe, in their idea of it worked out, people.
Obviously saw that for the appeal and they bought into it.
I guess that's why obviously why they brought them to where they are now whereas these days it's very hard to make something that extravagant people are a lot more you know Reserve to go.
Yeah and go out and Explore, you know, do something that outlandish. So to say, so yeah, no, it's
that. That I agree that, that era is
for America was, yeah, probably the greatest hero the ever in Automotive History for them. I mean, they had had these small
cars with massive engines like they, they put a 429 in a Mustang, right? And, and just be a big block -
yeah, it's called. It's called The Boss, the Boss
429. And look this stuff up guys.
Australian guys, we don't know what they were discouraged, but basically, the engine was that big that they would, they would take these Mustangs to work to another place.
Cut the suspension tunnels, and then and the strut Tower was smaller. So they could fit the physically
fit this engine in there. And it was just to say, well,
I've got more power than you. Yeah.
It's it's it's Insanity when you turn, you think about it.
But this is the stuff that they were doing and all the hemis.
And And big-block, Chevy, 454 us.
Yeah, it was just, you know what I've got.
I'm going to be more power than you.
And and I kind of like that, you know, I mean, it's kind of, it's a weird. It's a weird feeling.
It's like one of the things that is in the current day and age is basically they're doing that, but they using the tech properly correctly, using whatever stuff the the, you know, the rest of our lives throughout they've developed, rather than have, you know, 7, L to make 400 horsepower, do you know they're going to get the six little 5.8 liters or whatever to make that
seven? And horsepower and reliably.
That's the best part. Like as you said ten years ago,
the it would be in 2011 of you've entered all came out and that 690 horsepower. That's considered to be your
ass. You know, Supercar that's like
whoa, you know, 700 horsepower and just big old Italian Behemoth and as I call you down the street, he's got he's got the orders of The Exorcist and that's got, you know, 700 horsepower and see a fracture, the price of your event at all there. Yes.
It's not you know apples apples but still the fact is Those power figures are real and you know they'll even fat black lines you know, on streets everywhere and it's just crazy when you think about that life, it was like, oh yeah, it's a 10-second. Got 700 horsepower.
Super it's had this much on under the hood.
It's like, you know, I just bought that from the dealership.
Yeah over there. It's crazy to think about what
put it this way. When I my fiestas 1.5 liters and
it makes 200 horsepower, which is like 147. 148 each killer
was, right? That's all. 1.5 liters in a
three-cylinder like that would have been unheard of like years ago now. I was.
Now you've got to grow up a good point because we had at a Morrison, the show a few weeks ago, from memory driven.
And he said he had a modified Mitsubishi Lancer.
With, you know, with a, with a for G63, Big Turbo, this Daniela. That's basically back into this
was in the early in the in the early 2000s late 90s and he could never get to, they didn't have proper engine management back then either So like yeah, he'd have to get up to keep his foot on the accelerator when it came to when he came to us analyze your otherwise. Otherwise, it's cool because I
don't have no idle control, you know, but now we've got we've got all that technology, you know, making 1,000 horsepower?
Isn't that hard? Like, as long as you got money,
you can, you can you can definitely, you can do it reliably. Like I look at my brother's of
six, right? It's got 666.
Collage was like well over 800, something horsepower and you could drive it every day. The clutch is light, it's except
for being Noxious Lili out. You could you could absolutely
drive it every day, you know? And and you couldn't you
couldn't do that back then and and but it's still amazing to know that that all these American cars did exist you know, from that Golden Era of just it was just brutality.
They didn't stop, they didn't turn, but my God, they go hard.
Like that was that was the, you know, the whole motor behind it.
So as long as you went quick, made a loud noise.
You know, that's, that's, that's pretty much it out there.
That was pretty much just for two ago, food.
Just, I mean, even you stir in the movies and the posters, you know, when did you ever say I'm ever, like, doing any type of real form racing whatnot? And I just always two windows
down, American blond woman next to them, you know that old man or whatever. Going down some old country
highway just gonna get em. And that's pretty much what
American muscle is. Absolutely.
But having said that they're like in the in the in the 70s they read they got into a lot of road racing so yeah.
Like rotate, right America and and on all, these are always things that and that's why they bought the Trans Am Series.
So that's why you're trans a, you know, like from that and it's, I, I generally love is transcendent and what one kind of comes into the comes to my mind, is, is a smoky in the bandits black Trans Am, you know, it's just such a cool car and it looked badass and a big freaking But on the other Bonnet and it looks stupid, but it looks hilarious.
And I looked awesome. And as a kid seeing that maybe
the best, I was like, yeah. This is this thing siging.
You know, I remember anything. And, you know, never Lettin a
V8, kind of, kind of kind of mentality.
Yeah, it's just just just want what I want, I guess one of the one of those things out that they that you get from the front and rear iron and yeah, the lady.
Late 70s, early 80s. They they were really went away
but I think the fox body really kind of brought back performance really to America because like they were they were just Having some big engines severely underpowered because all choked up by Smaug emissions and and and the likes but you really go downhill DNA with the VA so you know fairly big, I think like the 80s Camaros and stuff, you know, 5-liter V8 and they were terribly underpowered, terribly under power compared to anything from, you know, the 70's and that was just creepy, a came and
said shut it down. Yeah.
She controls and kill Christ. Yeah, yeah and that really
killed that really, that really killed the, the hot American car with the first V8, Fox body that they fucking Mountain zebra.
Which was I think it had 115 HP. You know.
It's but but that's how choked up.
They were like they just had they weren't allowed to do anything and I guess is technology advanced that though you know they were able to kind of get a bit.
Also technology advanced forum for and it got to a point for my Scar, which I'm going to say which is, which is ugly.
One of my favorite cards, all time the Buick Grand National especially especially in X former to specific experimental, which was the GNX. It's Darth, Vader's cars,
everybody says black on black on black on black and it had the mighty 3.8 Ecotec Nails in any codec, but it was, it was
basically 3.8 Buick V6, massive turbocharger hanging off it and
it was the I believe at the time, the quickest American one of the American causally was quick.
It was quicker than a Corvette and it was in, it was in like a, and your old man's Buick. It was, it was bad.
That was in the 80s, and that's been turbo.
Technology was really. Everything was becoming turbo,
and, and that's when that's when, I guess they like, the smaller engined cars. And I think the Japanese really
ran with the whole turbo technology especially like the late 80s, like that would everything was a turbo in Japan, so, but I think that car was it was really a Big Piney.
I don't know if you guys know know what know the kind of talking about, but it's a badass car, it's a quick.
Always been a solid 276 horsepowers.
Well actually, no, it was underrated that release, but it did actually, I put was about 300 300 horsepower so that especially in that day and age and the late 80s.
Yeah. You were pushing hard.
It was also pretty expensive. It was what process?
Thirty thousand dollars at the time but I just inflation that's seventy one thousand dollars American.
It's enough, cheap car, but that being said, it provided, you know, the performance. They don't know.
Until like those cars didn't weigh a lot like like that.
Like, it was a real big heavy American cars.
Yeah, I mean, do I have you for their time?
But looking back down there, why a lot and they had all this power and they just went and you know, good, the some of the show's been on the show from America day.
Brendan mr. Day of lc2.
He's had a lot and he's got it. He's got one of those engines in
his in his El Camino and and he he showed me some videos in any you launch it from a from a, from a dig.
And as soon as a boost comes in, you just here and just let the tires just chirping as as soon as all that waiver talk comes in and chirps gears and it's just it's so it looks like so much fun. And and again, that's that that
traffic light, you know, Grand Prix kind of ask, you know, stuff that you you only get with with them with American girls that kind of reminds me of the think was a little bit late.
Later on maybe early 90s when they had the GMC syclone.
Yeah. That, that will pickup truck as
they call it over there. That was a V6 as well, but I
think it was bigger like a full point.
Something 4.2 4.3. Yeah, something along those
lines from memory V6. And that turbocharged always
kind of had a bit of a soft spot for those.
They look pretty pretty tough. They would have been a lot of
fun to drive. Jailer is got one and he He
loves it. He bought one of them when they
were like really salty, many of them, actually.
But that car, in particular, was I believe the fastest accelerating American character time.
Like, you there was, no, there was no other query columns.
Quicken the Ferraris like, was putting the new 308 and always got from around the time. And it wasn't a American pickup
truck with with Bailey, anything in Italy, you know.
So, I massive respect for that. I think that's I think that's so
cool. Um, I'm going to throw one in.
That's a little more on the quiet.
I'd not being loud and obnoxious put any of the Tesla Model 3.
Yeah, that again like I'm not particularly super fond of electric cars, but I also understand that you can't stand in the way of the future and here change.
So we kind of like, you can either what can't beat them, join them. I guess he needs to Volvo XC
fully recharge but the the model S that has web for The Roaster and stuff they were Much more expensive allows you're into cars, whereas the model 3 kind of came in and I think it was a 46,000 all us price point which still is expensive for us car, you know? But it kind of came into that if
you stretch a little bit and you consider the savings, I guess I'm fuel, you can kind of pull for it and that really, I think helped like the industry Ozzy was going in the direction of electric cars and it's shown clearly now, but still there's still that like, reluctance and hesitant.
Was like you should be Bolton stuff like a relatively kind of crappy cars. Overall, this is something that
you could have as a family person, you know, fit your whole family in there, everything to go, a good amount of range that, you know, as long as you don't take a road trip every day, you can just come home and recharge it that kind of thing and kind of opened the doors to say, you know what, electric cars can be for everybody and they can be, you know, within that Eternal price point. And that's what kind of I feel
pushed more of the other makers to kind of, you know, stop tears or streamlined. A production kind of bring more
to the market because without it a little while, everyone's kind of just holding and waiting until somebody, you know, jumps in first. And I feel like has kind of done
that and allowed that kind of electric car Revolution to take place properly. Now, I think most recently,
they've actually been dethroned as the largest producer of electric cars by byd, which really wants is going to go intestines? Tell us, is it worth it?
You know, should you go to byd instead?
Because even the devils are being mentioned.
You know, I'm pretty sure the pole stars are the Volvo is are so you can't be saying I don't want Chinese men calculate something, get a chinese-made electric car but as long as you know again the quality assurance is there's no reason why most Electronics come from China. So I don't think they became any
qualms with that. It's just kind of seeing what
you want was, you know, a good price and what company kind of like I said, has at least a reputation.
Yes, Tesla's Elon Musk himself as a different man.
I think we leave him aside. But you know, the company of
Tesla itself, you know what they've been doing so far the Innovations and their willingness to kind of again, bring products to market. Now they've got the model Y,
which is outpacing. The, the model 3.
It's, you know, it's providing that like SUV size with that similar price bracket. It's good to see like, you want
progress. We want a clean future, you
know, in the end and electric cars are going to probably help with that. As much as I as much as I would
say, I can a values. The Pre-show electric cars.
I strongly believe as long as I'm alive and living.
I'll never buy one. I'm going to commit to strong
words. Patrick strong words, here
young, man. You all right.
Yeah, that's true. It is true.
Your peoples a young girl Buddha snap, but minimum 60 years in here and I'd say four things are quite different probably in the next 20 to be quite different. But here's the thing II strongly
believe, you know, like The world's not ready yet.
For electric cars for a full transition, you know, I feel like it has a big, you know, if we want to transition, we have to go from, obviously, from Petrol, then to hybrid then to Electric, because you can't just stop.
Because the salt, let's be real here.
On the price of electric cars are still expensive.
Regardless of what more do. I, how much they lowered their
still expensive. I'll tell you this right now.
Like straight out. I know.
And 100% my family and many others like mine.
Not afford electric comp flat out because it's not just electric car. You buy, you gotta have
somewhere to charge you know. Some somehow pit people Damon on
the iron homes right? Then I don't even have garages
to, you know, have a charge station when I was a kid, the cars parked at night so you run to the issue with that and then if you do have a garage, you had that obviously get it installed with the charger. So yeah, you save money and feel
but the costs of just you know even just ownership is a lot more. I'm sure you made still it's
still a luxury at least especially now Markets.
You, I agree. It is definitely a luxury.
Like, yeah, you can't say, you don't want to save the money on fuel unless some stayed at about two dollars fifty L.
Then there's a little bit of a high view, you know, I get that but, you know, as you said, yeah, it's, it's too expensive and it's going to be expensive for a store quite some time.
So, you know, people started some people in like some country saying by 2030, or whatever they're going to go fully, it's it won't happen. It won't and it just it won't.
Can't happen because as I said the world is in simple terms, the world's not ready for it. If you want that transition to
happen, if you want that changed over to having did have a transition, right? You got to go from Petrol to
hybrid, stay in the hybrid stage while you were in the hybrid stage, where people can still access petrol for or, you know, least building income up or whatever then you can start bringing in the more charging stations, you know, more flexible options for people, you know, maybe The government can give out grants or whatever. Just say I'm not saying this is
what's going to happen just saying because obviously, right and even like I'm young for some obviously, I don't know much about, you know, for example, Tesla's, I wouldn't know much about them, so correct me if I'm wrong but I'm sure I'm sure that, you know, if something was to happen, something goes wrong.
Like a service thing will be a lot more than I'm saying compared to a standard car you know like part of him would be far more, you know. Expensive.
And then you will be run into the o.c., the issue.
This is now getting a bit pull of political, which I hate which our and get I was over there but your then you're gonna get run into know people with mechanics losing our jobs.
You know there comes also there and they'll be a big backlash and then strikes and then so saying that, you know, he's electric to Future post, Mak possibly the quiet but then again we're talking about overseas that there are some around things. Some hydrogen cars, Or cars
running on, you know on TV I've seen like you know on water or whatever. It's just it's everything's all
up in the air. So the so you know go like it's
inevitable fully electric. I'm have, I have to disagree
purely because of what I've said.
I'm not saying I'm not saying it's a bad thing to go fully electric now. Of course, you know, the planet
matters. We met other human lives matter.
100%, And I agree with that, you know, who knows how much, you know, oil barrels. You have left, you know, I
personally don't believe what they say I because I truly believe we don't know how much we've got left off own my own resources. But yeah, for that to happen
it's I think it's I think it's still way too early personally to push such a agenda in like push for people to move to a different type of arm transport. But that's just, that's just me
ranting ranting on, you know, that's just me.
Once in a billion other people on the Earth.
So I've got some more thoughts on an electrical engineering and I don't think we're ready to go fully electric.
I mean, for a starter, I don't want subscription electric car, which is his liver is, but the batteries, frankly still suck, because they have limited life and he's my second hand market for eight years and you have to replace the cards and that you did. That's like acceptable for a
smartphone that even look at, you know what?
The Density of the batteries, Toyota breakthrough Battery Technology, the the not really going to get his it.
So what you said illiterates right, we're getting power to the ground but maybe you want a hydrogen fuel cell, forgive you, they'll tourism. And and I think the hydrogen is,
is a ground. But I also think, for example,
we just don't have the infrastructure for electric.
Yeah, that's that's actually something, I forgot that L are, you can't handle the national Britain Australia, can't handle big loads of people coming over in charge of the cars.
I've seen some of the reports for stuff when I've been looking energy usage for our websites and stuff and a lot of the substations and the high-voltage lines are saying the next five to ten years I've been going to be double.
I mean yeah. I mean you've taken those, you
know, those charges people install in the homes.
I mean, obviously I'm an apprentice electrician by no by trade and obviously, we go. We go out and we install them in
people's homes and typically, they run most people's homes, only on single. Face, you know power you know
and for producing that much Alpha you need to go to two or even three phase to run that much, you know, power and that that again, it just comes down to money and whether people can afford that or not you know it's you got a 60 kill a tree.
You want to charge for two hours?
What? PowerPoint can let you drag 30
kilowatt out of it. You start up your standard
PowerPoint only puts out 10 amps anyway and witness 2.4.
You think that? You think that's enough will
fucking feel electric how you led Tesla.
Yo, All Roadstar. I don't know, man, like they're
cool. Don't get me wrong in the cool.
Calm, sure. They Hammer well in there, they
had great fun, but yeah, it's not waiting to it's way too early for people. Especially, you know, I'll tack
these people, especially the middle.
I'll take the me, it's way too early for them to start holding out, you know, pushing, you know, electric cars and a sustainable future. It's way too early because
especially we have the world currently is Right now.
It's yeah but to be fair you need some of those early adopters to actually push the technology or if there's not people out there wanting it, nobody's going to develop absolutely and that's that's why petrol cars are where they are.
Now people wanted it while you're saying in the early 80s.
Look at where there were power and performance was 300 horsepower. Out of the seven liter V8.
Now you get 700 horsepower of a two-liter that was people pushing for a driving at technology so there's got to be early adopters somewhere. It's not going to happen.
This is fun. I balance I think one of the
cool ways to do it is industry where it's not an individual facing the cost. It's something like, I think it
was one of the best companies they've ordered a bunch of electric buses. And again that's industry paying
the cost yet. We're getting overall a net
benefit of a Greener, you know, transit system, something like that. And then that also again if
feels and pays for more research and development in the the space I think somewhere in This is Germany or somewhere else in the one of the European countries they were trialing using, you know, how like trains have those little things that attach on the wall, the cables, I mean, I don't know what exactly they're called but they're like going to come up as soon as a tram.
Yeah. Using tram lines on like
highways in the left lane or sorry there, right line technically, they're slow lane. So that Vehicles could the
trucks or something could just use an electric motor powered by the grid to kind of use on Transit or freeways and In India, you have like either a hybrid or system or something similar that nature to get them that last mile, you know, to the delivery, something like that. It's and again, like I said,
when industry is paying for it, only a lot of times people, normal people can take advantage of it.
You could be, you know, hooking up buses, tours as well to get people where they need to be going.
So I guess yeah. Like a like Mark said, finding a
balance of, you know, early adoption from consumers and then also industry because the other thing is, like I said, saving the environment. Biological safety environmental.
You probably going to my best kind of balancing out things but one of the things I always found out was even if every single person in the world starts to live a very, very green life.
It still won't outweigh the amount of pollution that industry does. Because where's she even our
daily activities are so low. You know, even if we drive
diesel cars or whatever Roland cold, like Patrick is down, but reject. Their could.
But yet like you even if you cut those things aside, if it still does not outweigh anything Neal, what the industrial process farming you know transport just manufacturing stuff that the amount of emissions they do and they the ones I really I think overall have to be addressed so they can go green out like you know solar panels on Factory reason that can stop that.
It's probably a good path forward if that's the case, then why it why it takes to get why attack the car?
Will you let us have our petrol and now the petrol cars?
Well I think about is what people driving electric cars that you will put your microphone.
So you know we still forget a get our cars around for the weekend absolutely. I'll bring it around full circle
for you. Maddie tell me America.
Ford. F100.
Or yes. Nice.
Electric version of it coming out.
There we go. Boom!
Full circle. Yeah, it's it's awesome because
can't go wrong with some of the old shapes of the cars back in those days. I know they can't really do it
that anymore because of Crash protection and you know that's what got rid of the awesome pop-up headlights because of all that if 100 illuminator Mansukh, this one's like a creamy color.
Yeah. That's the cause that's more
than EV crate motor. That customers can now buy.
Yep. Correct.
Yeah. That's just keeping those old
cars alive. And still modern are kind of,
I'd like that twist. So, what?
Like, I'm they did too. I mean there was obviously more
of a concept car by how they did their Classic Hyundai.
Yeah, that's The gradual something, okay?
So, say again, that looked awesome.
If they brought down and protection, I would be doing anything to try and buy one, just like that 80s.
Retro look just to die for. I think it should be based on
the Rocks. Platform.
Yeah, bring it back. Well, if they break a proper
Marquis Mustang, then I own want to be a fox body one.
Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, yeah.
Yeah. I cannot
you know, like the Guys, would, you know, they sold in 2000 is shorter than Garbage Pail sicker.
You know, it wasn't a painting, which the GT40 being the over 400 horsepower v8 or and then the videos of people put up with them. This is a great time.
Do they sound like, when they get on those things?
And you just hear the supercharged one, is it that one of the best-selling cars ever made?
And it's just like, what we most popular videos on YouTube is Rob from rough ready? Yeah him him driving.
The Ford GT, can seem like a cop and then gun it just reminds me of when I was at school and it was about to come out being released and that ends. The only website we could look
up was like a ford.com. Yeah.
And they had that car on there, you can click it and listen to it. So I just kept clicking
listening to it. Listen to over and over again.
Oh dude, I remember watching that video.
And then one of the comments was like the sudden taught yarn time when he when he puts his foot down in the field in the in the in the middle down shift and then yeah yeah.
I'm certain he was like my gentleman's sausage.
Moved ahead. That's how point I had to, I had
to laugh. I thought that was such a such a
funny but yet that that g team particular was just looked good.
It sounded good. It's is all things to all
people. Jeremy Clarkson bought one like
what he's guys get access to all the cars in the world.
You know, they have enough money to buy a lot of the more expensive cars and then he chose specifically to buy for GTM, like, even knowing it's, you know, drawbacks of the doors, not opening. If somebody's parked too close
to you, you know, your industrial consumption.
That weird electronic alarm system that can find the council. But even even knowing those
things, he still, you know, sign up for one.
That I guess, you know is one of the truest indications that was a great car. Yeah, absolutely.
So I remember the whole episode when it got to drive on in America and he did completely fall in love with it and ordered one and bought it, but just not good for UK roads, really?
It's tier 2 wide which, um, feel which we should Venture.
They went, he took another Ford GT and he ran out of money to pay for petrol. So James man to bail me out of
that was that was their fridge refrigerator.
It does. He said that was his actual Ford
GT is 11. Haven't had a Zonda and then
James May had the Aston Martin those unbearably uncomfortable and his wife, Hillary dbr9 or something.
Yeah, pretty much like my racing one and Is there a wedding?
Nothing and everything. I think it's that one.
Yeah, he was sweating. Hold on.
You had to get a cushion, the divide, the made some great cars in America. And I got like, the whole world
still thinks either make the make these cars, but they've made some crackers. Like if it wasn't for a lot of
the American cause we wouldn't have some some great, some great cars that that we know these days, you know?
So you know I'm thinking Label the Camaro's.
This and one combined patina was there come back tomorrow in 2005 and what available for whenever the first Transformers movie came out? Yeah, it was basically a
Commodore anyway but it was Commodore in drag but kind of look good. And I still say, I'm like that's
a good-looking car. I would happily happily own one
of those. The Challenger when that first
came out. Oh, and even still, it was like
a day. When it's just like a demon god
buddy, they look fantastic. Dude, I saw a demon on it was on
the back of a truck and I played.
So now the other thing was a brand new car getting getting delivered somewhere. It was red one wide-body with
the flares II downshifted went past this is on my way to Adelaide actually. I'm looking at like, oh my God,
like it's just, it just, it just got presence and it was on the back of the tow truck has got presence.
You know, it's it just looked so damn good.
I was like, that is such a cool car and they coming awesome colors but actually the car absolutely like like that.
Yes. That purple that plum purple is
just fantastic and I saw one wasn't the demon.
It was the okay. The Hellcat in green, a real
nice, like lime green. It looked, fantastic, sounded
good. To be booted, it past us.
And I was like, oh dude, just the noise that they make.
And the way, the way they go, and it's something about American cause it just, you just passed the put a smile on your face, like, like, you know, there's just there's just no ifs or buts about it. I mean, one can't particular for
me and Jeremy Clarkson. Actually want to buy one when he
drove it was when they went to America.
He got a Corvette ZR1 like I'm just C C6.
Corvette ZR1? Yeah.
Oh, that's a cool car, you know, Ellis 9, Supercharged V8, 6-speed manual, crazy color that it came in there.
The one he was driving and I was like this is such a cool car, you know. And and he was even like it's
like Ferrari, are you listening? It's still going to manual.
Gearbox is still involving to drive you know for me that that that's one of the cars. Oh, if I had the money I would
definitely have in my hand in the winter.
Gets out of Revenue next to cars.
I think the clutch that's right. They like I said even even in
today's day and age these cars speak of almost like a life of excess, so that it's necessary. Good thing in every situation to
be living, a life of excess, but just the road is yours.
You know, don't worry about the Oh cost, just Revit and gar and that's, that's kind of the message that they always sent.
And, you know, that's, you know, like so A wise man, once said, I live my life, a quarter mile at a time and you know what you do, live your life like that. It's a, it's a, it's a great way
to do it. A couple more for me before I
before I asked you guys, your last ones, are you thinking of that? I was just going to say, just
the names of the cars that the American manufacturers used even just now like a Cat. This is freaking awesome.
I just know how to name their cars or just make him sound.
So tough through something called a Hellcat, dude charger?
Yeah, PT Cruiser. CTS-V but not just any CTS-V in
a wagon. Yeah, you know why ghen with
with a manual gearbox LSI vi8? Ah, what come on?
What is that? What is there not to like about
that like a manual Supercharged V8 Cadillac Wagon?
Like, that's just hilarious. I would happily have one of
those in, in my, in my driveway and it's funny to see because like the values are those of like they never kind of lift what they were because I'm just like this is this kind of so stupid that we need to have any Don't please.
So I'm a big fan of big big. I feel like it was a Cadillac
come back. Don't quote me on it but I feel
like it was you know, they're kind of nothing and that kind of put them back back on the map again.
Absolutely. And they've met their layout is
a really good handling car company.
Like instead of the old wall we you know crazy suspension which was kind of like was known to be a very good car.
Like only sell so many escalators to drug dealers and yeah. Indians with poor taste, my
cousin style event to bring up something for your sensible.
People, I think the, the CTSV really was Mark, you've got to go, you had your little one in the background, he's wanting to go to sleep. Thanks to go to sleep.
Before they catch you guys. Next time, he's being said to
sleep on trumped-up charges. Thanks.
A couple of other ones before before I end, but the CTSV wagon is one of my, one of my all-time all-time favorites.
The to the first tourist is H 0, which will had a Yamaha Yamaha powered, you know, V6 we was cooked for bottom end.
But yeah, my head's more power than a Mustang quicker than while staying. And there's actually could
handle that was Ford's. Come back, our back in the 80s.
That one was was, was was a bit of a big, big, big fan of the last Pontiac. Firebird they made.
I still think they are. Looking car, they look fat.
They've got like these. These bug guy kind of rear end
taillights. I'm a big fan of watching on if
you guys Center legit streetcars on YouTube and he's got like a thousand horsepower one of those.
And I'm just like just looks so cool.
The white one, white one. Yeah.
Yeah, very, very cool car. I like that stuff from the 90s
and early 2000s, especially from for America.
I mean, I don't know, the quality wasn't inverted commas, great, but they drove well and they sounded great.
And yeah, the best car to ever leave the American Shoreline and then we go, you can all agree with me the Dodge Neon.
Yeah, thank you very much, everyone.
That's it. Leave it at that.
Patrick signing off. He's done a Dodge Neon SRT for
Charge 2.0. Yeah, very files.
The Dodge, sorry, the Chevy Cobalt SS.
They, they went pretty hard. I thought they were kind of cool
looking car but yeah. Like they've done some great
things. America.
Yeah, the Crown Vic gonna have some respect.
Hell yeah. I'll try big old heavy car, you
know, slow as shit. But you know, it moved the
people who move the cops, you know, it was it was the car that, you know, any kind of government service needed.
I think that's a yeah, I'll be Kind of a big fan of a Crown Vic. It's got any last one, because
we move on. Now, pretty much covered them.
All that sound. That is everything Patrick
besides PT Cruiser else God burn a card.
Um, and that's pretty much. It Chrysler, Crossfire.
Hmm, like the crosswire that's it.
Ray Jay's, officially ban just looks actually like the crossfire. And really if you get an SLT
six, supercharged, it's basically a Mercedes Sighs besides he's underneath, isn't it is?
Yeah Mercedes it's okay underneath.
Okay? It's it's quite interesting
looking but I think it's quite I think, as I age that she not too bad, I don't know. It's just me.
I've got a bit of a soft spot for the crossfire.
Yeah, it is just as easy. It's one of those, a tell me
have a small penis little meals for people on a budget.
You know, you kind of pulled one of the big saltiness kind of either. Oh, that's the other one.
I forgot. So, you know, you had the Crown
Vic were talking about what about the Ian from Mercury, the Mercury Marauder, Marauder. Yeah, what a name?
Dude, there was black on black that had the more powerful engine. I can't.
Do they have the best days because we've got the best names. Yeah, I don't carry Marauder,
that's just fantastic. Also, let me said sometimes,
they do need to have a bit of a check.
The fact that those are commonly called Hummer and because this, this is Carter after dark, you know?
Yeah, you may have to look up hammer on Urban Dictionary.
It's definitely not a word. You want to name your company
after. So this whole on Patrick's have
been young. Filthy little, he's innocent
he's not like you or I would I would explain the definition but I think now this is really curious listeners.
I'll just do the quiz tonight and I'll save the cryptic.
Look at it next week. Okay.
With the cryptic for next week. Just say, no, it's not just
cars. That might have some car movies.
I've got a couple of those thrown into and I think when we got a few more people and David and that's back, I think that might be interesting. You see remembers these movies
if you've seen them because some of them are quite old personal feeling, David and, and getting more of an advantage here.
Hey, who knows, maybe you've watched that some of the older car movies and that, that work best for us also rely on them.
Memory family. Not.
So I'll save that. Cryptic 14 for next week, so
it's not overly done with quizzes or thrown in at once.
Sounds good. Sounds good.
Well, the quizzes ready to go? I've got no card ready, Scotty?
It's your car. All right, what's a question
was, yes? Hell yeah, let's get into it.
Some quickfire ones in some that's like at you thinking.
Had to throw in towards the end, some Bathurst stuff because you know, that's coming this weekend.
So you know just a couple this here you go with it.
All right, first question, question number one what country consumes the most petrol every year will be a trick question.
Because Matthew also I think I was gonna say I was gonna say America but I don't think it is because I think it might be a more highly populated place especially with the way China is at the moment. I'm honestly trying to you gotta
say China. Nice actually.
Oh Patrick. Got it.
I'll put it India. Nope.
Whoo. That is actually what I was
gonna say now. He's got me stuck.
Okay, I'll just say United States.
Yeah, you're correct. Yeah.
Yes, bonus question. Who comes in at number 20.
Alum or it has probably China. It is China because China.
India than Japan Japan? Okay.
Yeah, so they do it by yearly gallons per capita.
So, okay, and America absolutely Trump's it.
So, yeah, they're the number one consuming it all on us, but they got the most reserves off to them.
Is this going to be? Closest to probably with this
one, the most expensive car ever sold was a 1963, Ferrari GTO that was sold in 2018. How much money?
What's this car? Sold for Matthew.
Matthew was a 25 million, okay? So that 25 million, a trick.
If you guess it correctly like straight away on the money, I'll let you know. I'm also a 30-30 I know
something ridiculously high. Like 25 is kind of in the realm
of kind of possible, I think the somewhere like 55 million.
So 55 is my number. Alright, closest to was Alum, as
it was 70 million. She's my God, what the hell?
No, I'm good. But you couldn't get insurance
for something like that. Like like no one.
No one would touch it. Same piece, put it somewhere and
that's it. That's all right.
Question 3. Which subsidiary of General
Motors established in 1985 was discontinued in 2010.
Matthew was it sudden? Yes it was, it was satin not
bad, it's not bad. Alright, question for, which was
the first car to get laser beam headlights Matthew Matthew.
It's one of two cars. I want to say a BMW 7 Series on
the right track but no man I've got no idea.
Yeah I'm stuck as well. But what did Mary say?
7 series? BMW 7 Series and I said he's on
the right track? Okay?
Oh, BMW I8. That's high-tech.
Yeah. Got it.
Yes. Get off it.
Thank you, lady hate no idea. Let's go.
I need be, I was thinking a video of like a tutorial that BMW showing. I was in there, the latest 7
Series and it's like, laser beam headlights.
Like they shine it like this laser and it was pretty crazy was like, well, right? Yeah, unfortunately came out in
the I8 first. All right?
You sure somebody got the futuristic?
Yeah, they do. Look pretty futuristic school.
Check Patrick 0 myself. One Alan 14.
I'd call him. I'm saying I'm losing to Alum
tonight. Anyway.
All right, this one is a shout out to our man David in which year was the first Accord model produced.
Matthew. Thank you, 78.
He said 78 correct. Yes I did.
Unfortunately not 78, Patrick. Patrick, I'm guys. 74.
Not 74. L Olam.
I'll split the difference 76. Yeah, Alan got it.
Thank you. The bonus question.
How many generations has it been?
Oh Hallam 5 don't bow. Matthew Matthew has been eight
incorrect. So pi over 6.
No, I'm fortunately, it's actually 10.
Boom, in of course you refreshes.
Yeah, the nice. In came out in 2012.
And I'm obviously they've gone to the next one up to 10 now.
Sorry they've been gone quite some time.
All right, I had to throw in a what?
Cara my because they're always good.
Here we go. What?
Kara my I was introduced in 1999 and had a very funky look.
I came as a three-door hatchback in my first generation, my second generation came in 2009 and I now was a 5-door hatchback. My only transmission Choice was
a CVT album, Mitsubishi Mirage? No, it's officially Mirage.
Originally, I came with a one-litre engine and in the second generation at a 1.3 engine and both had an electric
motor. Matthew, Matthew under Insight.
Correct? Yeah, the last little bit was, I
am made by Honda one of my questions seven.
Let's see if you've been Keeping your eye on the news question 7.
This that in this Mo released a GT4 race car for 2023.
What is it based off home? Oh, Alan to mr.
Z or 400 correct. It is pretty good.
Although it does. I wouldn't mind owning one of
