was major problems because they had a radiator problem and the cooler and the radiator

would crack and then cool it would go up into the transmission and destroy the

transmission.

I've changed that a lot of times.

Well, you get pretty hot when you start walking and start doing moving those arms

and stuff like that.

Yeah, you do get warmed up.

That is right.

I've been working out.

So I do know.

That's right.

Listen, I want to tell you something that warmed my heart because last week, I think it was,

right?

We got a call from Joyce.

I think it was last week from Joyce.

We got a call from Joyce.

And Joyce was the person who has been sending us the wooden crosses.

And Joyce was so nice.

She was like, I'm going to send you some.

She immediately sent some.

And I've got to shout out Joyce a little bit today because she had the people at

the front desk who intercept our mail very intrigued about what was in this box because

she packed it in a pasta salad ranching bacon box, which I love so I love to reuse things

and use.

And this was so adorable.

So we might have thought we was going to have a salad or something.

And that's what our front or our front people thought.

They were like, is there pasta salad in this?

Because when you shook it, it made noise.

It made the noise.

Like noise.

Yes.

And I was like, I'll tell you.

And I opened it up and I said, oh, it's Joyce and it's the crosses.

So you had the front, the front going a little bit with the pasta salad box.

So did they have all their hazmat suits on and everything?

No.

They didn't get that far.

I think they were hungry more than anything.

I think it was hunger that was driving the guests.

But she did say it's for I, myself, coach and the lady that answered the phone.

That was Marissa.

Marissa.

Also for Abram.

I was about to say I work here too.

I know it.

Your name is on there.

It says for Abram and Java.

And she says, please give each above for your spouse, children, self-grandchildren and also

Camel King.

Camel got added to it as well.

So I'm super excited about that.

Well, let's have it.

So she says my 1998 forerunner has an antique tag.

It is white and I was driving on Highway 82 to get to East Claybourne and the light turned

red and I'm stopped on the inside lane.

A siren went off next to me on the outside lane.

I look over and it is the highway patrol.

I roll my window down and he said, how many miles do you have?

I looked and I said 265,000.

She said, looks great.

Nice surprise.

I had just had it washed and waxed.

I thought we, both you and I, she's writing, would get a laugh out of my surprise scaring

me.

My son Jeff bought this forerunner new and she said Jeff did have cancer of the lung

like his father and she tries to take good care of more than one reason.

That's how it started out.

Okay.

Now I want to listen to your quote on the definition before I get started.

Well, it's super just regular.

It's just regular today.

So Nissan is a Japanese multinational automaker manufacturer headquartered.

And I love the city's name Yokohama, Japan that designs, produces and sells a wide

range of vehicles under the Nissan and infinity brands, formerly Datsun.

That's right.

Datsun is known for commitment to quality, reliability and innovative features producing

vehicles like the rogue frontier area as well as electric vehicles like the leaf and beyond

cars.

Nissan also develops products like communication satellites and machinery.

Yes, they do.

But now I want you to understand Datsun was their name before they became Nissan.

And there was a reason why they changed.

Now Datsun was spelled two different ways.

Datsun or can it be like the Datsun D-O-T-S-O-N?

Yes.

Okay.

Now the reason they changed it, they would change it to Datsun is because Datsun was sort

of a taboo.

It was the sun meant loss.

And so they, the people came together and said, well, we're going to change it to

S-U-N.

Now there's another little caveat on that.

What does D-A-T in Datsun stand for?

I don't know.

But for right now, this vernacular is dat right there.

No.

Well, that's pretty close, but D-A-T.

And the reason they put Datsun is because D-A-T was the surnames of the three owners.

So they took the initial surname.

D-A-T.

Oh.

And then sun on the end.

Datsun.

I love it.

back pressure.

Do you see bubbles coming out of it up through the cooler?

Yeah.

I hate to tell you that's going to be a head gasket problem.

What do you think about the, what's it called, a case field ultimate, do you think

that stuff will work?

Okay.

You can put the red devil in there.

I don't know about case field.

I ain't heard that one, but you can put the red devil in there or the blue

devil is one of the other.

I think it's blue devil.

He put that in there and I just had a guy, he had a head gasket blow and water

was coming out of his exhaust pipe and he, I told him about this blue devil and he

put that in there and it quit.

The only thing you got to be careful about that is that if the thermostat

gets stuck, you know, maybe some of that stuff gets in the thermostat.

So you want to do it the first time, put it in there without the

thermostat being in there.

So it's like, are you allowed to put like

can you mix that with the inner freeze?

I wouldn't do that the first time.

I would go ahead and seal up the leak first and then put inner freeze in it.

Okay.

And I have one more question on our Chevrolet, that's on an older

Chevrolet of 78 and 1978 freeze for the 350.

Right.

We were rebuilding the engine and installing a hydraulic roller cam and

two of the lifters aren't pumping oil, aren't they?

Is this two of them?

Did you, as the push rides, they're they're not stopped up or anything, right?

No, no, that's all new.

Well, it may be because those are hydraulic lifters in there.

So like you're saying, so what I would do on those, I'd take those

lifters out and check and see if there may be something stuck in

the hole of the lifter itself and see if it can, you know, it could

be blocking that oil from going down in there on those lifters.

Are they supposed to do a complete 360 twist on every evolution?

Every or just like a half a revolution?

You know, you know, when we start talking about lifters, lifters are just

like they say they're lifting that push ride up to control the valve.

Okay.

So even a roller lifter is doing the same thing.

It's turning and it's pushing on that valve every time.

So really, it's according to what the oil pressure is and how it's

operating with that oil pressure because they do get sticky and they do

not operate correctly correctly.

Look, I got a question for you, coach, that blue devil.

How long was he able to drive it after he blew the head gasket?

He put it in about three, four weeks ago.

It was a state at the shop for about a month in the parking lot.

And I told him about it and he put it in there and within about two

hours later at letting it run for a while, he drove it home.

So has it been a long time since he's done this been about a month?

Oh, wow.

That would have helped me on my Mustang when I blew the head gasket.

But his problem is, OK, on the blue devil or the any type of

additive that you're putting in to stop a leak, OK, a lot of time

people call them mechanics in a can.

Well, all mechanics don't work like they're supposed to.

Yeah.

So it could stop up the thermostat.

So you take the thermostat out and if you have a water pump on

there, it could come in up at first.

That's what I'm saying.

You want to make sure it's flowing good.

OK.

And you want to make sure that that thermostat's out so it

will let coolant will flow through that engine.

OK, we we pull in a bypass.

Yes, I love it.

All right, coach, before we get into our Nissan talk, let's hit

the phone lines one more time.

We've got Tyrone and Clinton.

He's got a leak he cannot find in a 93 F 150.

Tyrone, you're on with coach Charlie.

Good morning.

Thanks for taking my call.

And I really appreciate it.

Love your show.

I listened at a show a while back.

I can't remember what day it was.

Coach, you were talking about those seven threes in those F

150 from back in the day.

I have a 93 model that I bought from a antique dealer.

And I mean, it is, as you said, is one of the best motors

that right board ever made.

You can't tear that thing up.

But I have a problem with a few leak now.

I've gone through and I put all new lines on both sides

all the way around.

I've taken the injector pump off in the head,

put new gaskets and so forth around it and everything.

Put it back.

It's sealed for a while, but then it started to leak again.

And I just for the life of me cannot find where the leak is.

So I wanted to see an email right after the show

and didn't get a response.

So I said, I've been trying to catch you for a couple of weeks.

And I wished I had caught you before you retired from Clinton.

I could have you all that's right.

I could have loaned it to you all at the school.

But and we could have taken care of it.

Yeah, do you have any insight

of what I may need to look at to get this problem rectified?

OK, I'm driving it.

But of course, I have to do like I did in the military

and put my drain pan every time I stop.

Is it? Now, let me ask you a question.

Is it doing internal leaking or is external?

Have you checked the oil and see if the oil is getting

diluted with diesel fuel?

No, the oil is not getting diluted.

I can see when I there have been times where I have.

Let the hood up.

I let it run.

And it looks like it's coming somewhere from the

where the injector pump connects into the house in there.

It looks like it's coming from there and it's running down

a little fan and then running down on top of the.

OK, well, what I what I would do in that situation there

is don't let it run until you can find a leak.

What do you do?

You go in and cut the key on so that fuel primes up there.

And as that fuel primes up there, it's putting pressure on there

and you should be able to see that leak a lot better without it running.

OK, because all you're doing the vehicle is priming itself up.

So fuels all in those lines.

Because what's happening is that if it's a line leaking,

that means that the fuel is, you know, there's no fuel in there

until it cranks up. OK.

So what I would do is go ahead and just turn the key on

like you're regularly going to crank it up, let that fuel pressurize

and it gets all up in there in those lines.

Because now did you see over there by the water filter housing?

You notice what that you know that is, right?

OK, that water filter housing, it does have a tendency to leak some time.

OK, because what it's doing is taking fuel and water

is separating the water out of the fuel.

And on the way, the fuel, the water is going to get out is that

the fuel has to come through there in order to get the water out

and those leak and it does have a filter on it.

And they're there and it's not too far from that fuel pump.

So that could be your problem.

I would look at the water filter.

OK, now, I might have set up a little different,

but do you have a recommendation or someone that can look at it for me

because I met my way to get this I mean, and it's a wonderful time.

Love driving it.

Let's get through some recent recalls real quick

so we can get to some knee signs.

First up, nearly 57,000 Ford Lincoln SUVs

recalled for windshield air bubbles.

This includes 25 to 26 aviators, co-sears, and explorers.

The windshield glass in these vehicles

may have air bubbles that could impact

the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash

to fix, dealers are inspecting, and replacing

that windshield as necessary for free.

So if you've got anything else in there

other than the air bubble, like a rot, now's the time.

Well, you better hope they find the air bubble

and then you can get it fixed.

Yeah, well, I'm a sea air bubble.

So you want to see one, say, yeah, I see an air bubble.

You see right underneath that crank?

Air's that air bubble.

And we can't put none of that stuff in there.

When she'll repair, we need a new windshield.

That's what I'm talking about.

All right, up next, Ford recalls 163,000 plus Bronco SUVs

for a loose seat belt bolt.

This includes 21 to 23s.

The front seat frames in these vehicles

may have a looser dislodge height,

adjust pivot bolt, which may prevent the seat

from properly restraining an occupant

in the advent of a crash, increasing risk of injury.

And as a fix, dealers are replacing

the pivot link and bolts for free.

Well, I was thinking, I know how you can fix that.

Just get a rope and tie yourself in.

If you wanted to, you know, that's not the right way.

Why did my brain just go to Pam Pybus?

My brain just went to Pam and the string

or the rope that she had tied to the windshield wipers

to make them go, okay.

There's things you can do to rig these vehicles,

but you need to do it the right way.

Yeah.

Meaning you need a thick rope, not a thin one.

That's right.

Now you need a strap.

But I'm from, all right, here's what else is in recall news.

65,000 Ford flexes are recalled for a loose door trim.

That includes 2017 and 19 flexes.

This issue stems from the driver

and front passenger B pillar door trim,

which may detach while driving

and create that road hazard

that it would increase the risk of a crash.

As a fix, dealers are inspecting the B pillar trim

and replacing or repairing it as necessary for free.

Why don't these trims just fall off?

Just, they have trims falling off everywhere all the time.

Maybe some of those trims on flex need to fall off.

I never even liked those trims.

It looks better when the trim slides off.

Yeah, when the trim falls off, it looks better.

It's more aerodynamic.

That's right.

Too funny.

Okay, okay, me and Coach are tickled over here.

Up next in recalls, more than one million Toyota Lexus's

Subaru's are recalled for backup cameras.

Let's see if I'm in this bundle.

This would include a lot of Toyota vehicles.

From 23, I'm trying to group it all in

because you can go to this website and find out more.

From 23 to 26, including Highlander's RAV4 SUVs,

Prius Hatchbacks, Camry Sedans, Crown Sedans,

Sienna Minivans, Grand Highlander SUVs,

Land Cruisers, and Venzus.

For Lexus, it includes the, oh, I'm not on here.

23 to 26 ESs and LSs, RZ SUVs, GX SUVs and LC,

LX and NX SUVs, RXs and TXs,

and Subaru's include the 23 to 25 Solteras.

The backup camera may fail to display or may freeze

while the vehicle is reversing, increasing the risk

of a crash if you have not used your side mirrors

or that rear-view mirror.

You know, I was thinking on that one there,

you know, what is one thing that all those vehicles

have in common, and that is those side mirrors

and that rear-view mirror.

That's it, Coach.

That is what it means.

Did I hear the 26 already has a recall on it?

Yes.

The 26 model, we're not even there yet.

Yeah, there's a lot of 26 models.

Well, they come out in September.

I guess you're right.

Oh, they just dropped and now they know

that they already got a recall.

Yeah, they've already got one.

So to resolve, dealers are updating the software

for the 360 degree camera systems,

parking assist, electronic control unit for free.

Oh, these are special.

I love the IT, the same IT guy worked on them all.

Well, and these are special

because they're the 360.

That's right.

I don't have that.

I don't have that neither.

The only way I can do 360,

I gotta turn my head all the way around.

Stand on top of the car and spin around in circles.

All right, finally in recall news.

Stelanus, our favorite S-word recalls 320,000 Jeep Grand

Cherokee 4XE's Wrangler 4XE's for fire risk.

That's 20 to 25 Wrangler 4XE's in 22 to 26 Grand Cherokees.

The batteries in the effective vehicles

may contain cells with separator damage

that when combined with other complex interactions

within the cells,

you're gonna have to give me this one, coach,

can lead to a fire while the vehicle is parked or in motion.

As of October 13th, Stelanus was aware of 10 fires

originating from the batteries.

19 customer assistance records and one injury.

At this time, owners are advised to park outside

and away from structures and to refrain from charging.

Well, believe it or not, I worked at a battery plant.

And so I know how batteries work.

So those batteries themselves,

they have separators from the positive and negative cells.

Thank you, coach.

From the positive and negative cells

and they can short out is what they're talking about

and then catch it fire.

So just park in the field away from everybody

or just park in a parking lot and get an Uber back home.

So here's another kicker to this one.

There's no remedy right now,

but vehicles that were previously recalled

in November of 23 and October of 24

will need this new remedy performed as well.

Well, we just got a lot of recalls there.

A lot of cars, you know, they trial and error.

Yep, you can find out if your car has a past recall

by going to the National Highway Traffic Safety

Administration's website, nhtsa.gov,

forward slash recall and in putting your VIN number there

or you can find their safer car app.

Today we're getting to Nissan

because it's first Thursday's making model coach.

There's one more thing I gotta tell you.

I went to the dentist this morning.

Okay, so the dentist is over here working on me.

She says, coach, I got a question for you.

I said, what kind of question?

She said, I got a car question.

She says, when I put my vehicle in reverse,

it makes a rattling noise.

I said, okay.

I said, it could be the Zals

or then she came and gave me a little bit more answers.

She says, well, somebody was driving it.

They said they hit a possum or something.

And I said, well, I might've knocked the strow out

or something underneath it.

And she goes, I said, well, what are you gonna do?

She says, well, I'm just gonna cut the radio up louder

so I don't hear it until it falls apart.

Yeah, dry it out, dry it out.

Until it falls apart and then she'll fix it.

I said, there's a lot of people

that just cut the radio up louder.

So we don't need to do that.

It sounds like you're one of those,

ah, I cut the radio up louder.

But you know whose anxiety is low hers.

She has no anxiety at all.

She has no anxiety.

Nope.

She just says, I'll cut the radio up

and I won't worry about it.

Till the wheels fall off.

And then the dentist told her,

she said, yeah, wait till you see that front wheel

going faster past the car.

Is that my tire?

As we said, is that your tire going down the road?

Yeah, is that my tire?

Wow.

Good story coach.

I told her, I said, well, we need,

I'm gonna tell that this morning

cause I just made my day.

Now let's get to some Nissan talk

before we gotta head to the break.

I have some old Nissan's that's been discontinued.

I have a list of the new ones.

The old ones are kind of a little bit more fun though

because you were talking about one of them

and that was the Skyline.

The Skyline, that was one that is like a GTR.

They would not let it come into the United States

until just I think in like 1988, 94, something like that.

They let it come to the United States

but that was a very fast vehicle.

And when you start thinking about Nissan's,

you don't see that many models out there no more.

No, and that's what I was gonna say.

That's why I said the discontinued list

is more interesting to me than the current list.

Well, cause you only got Juke and you got Rogue

and you got these and some of those are discontinued

but did you know that Mercedes and Nissan

had a plant together in Mexico?

They were married.

They were married because the same plant

was letting, was making infinities, Mercedes.

That's right.

And Nissan's.

That's right, that's right.

They closed it down.

Yeah, they closed that down too.

They closed it.

Nissan has a lot of plants they're closing

and in 1983 is the first time

that they was the very first plant they had

in the United States.

You know where it was.

Where?

It's from Atlanta, Tennessee.

Okay.

And now we got the second one.

Okay.

We're here in the Canton, Mississippi.

That's coolness.

That's what's so cool about it.

So let's talk about those cars.

I wanna talk about too,

one of the ones that was discontinued

that I really liked.

My mom hated it but I thought it was so cute

and I would buy an old one of these just cause.

The Century.

No.

Which one?

Cube.

That little box.

That was so ugly.

Let me tell you something.

No, to me it was the cube and the Kia Soul head to head.

I mean, they were boxing it out in the ring together

and for me, the cube wins.

I think you might be the only one

that holds that opinion.

I love that little thing.

That they were in such deep competition.

Hey, but guess what?

They didn't have hamsters.

The problem is,

they're both gonna be discontinued.

Cube is, the cube is already gone

and the hamster mobile is gonna be discontinued next year.

They just don't like square cars.

That's orders.

They can't be fuel efficient, right?

Like.

Because they're square.

It's just a box.

Yeah.

With all this glass.

Look at Kevin.

Kevin's so offended every time.

Yeah.

Y'all heard Kevin's feelings.

He comes out of the office to the glass to tell us.

Well, you hear what I call it now.

The hamster mobile.

My, this cube is so adorable.

It looks like the periodic table

and I wish they would bring it back.

It's so cute.

Well, I bet it can fit in any parking spot.

So that's like, if you have trouble parking,

like that's a good option for you.

Just back up in there.

So what did you think about the juke?

The juke?

I like, the juke is still running.

But I don't like them.

They're just, they just don't look.

I test drove a juke.

One bad point is the blind spots.

Right.

Oh my gosh.

There's so many blind spots.

And then I sat in the back seat of one

and that window is tiny.

And not to say I want to look out the window,

but why is that window so little and crooked back there?

But you would want to look out it.

I want a long ride.

You wouldn't want to be looking at the wall

for all that time.

And that little window.

Straight forward.

Just look straight forward back seat driving.

Well, when you started talking about these nice cars

that Nissan had in the, you know, like the 240Z,

the 280ZX.

Coach, they discontinued the Pathfinder.

Oh yes, it's gone.

That was such a staple on the road.

That's been gone for a while.

Really?

They got rid of that one and they're getting in the century.

The note is gone.

The center is gone.

The Murano is gone.

The Maxima.

That's gone.

But you know that the Murano was made on the Juke platform

or vice versa.

OK.

And when I talk about platform, the way

that it comes down the semi-line and their same products

almost, you know.

But when you start talking about Nissan,

they had a lot of problems.

Yeah.

I hate to tell you.

Yeah.

And what is one of the top problems

before we head into break that just

burns you about a Nissan?

Transmissions.

OK.

CVTs.

OK.

60,000 to 80,000 miles on the vehicle,

you end up putting a new transmission in it.

Done.

Thousands of dollars.

Wow.

On all of the models?

Not all of them, but a lot of them.

OK.

But if you see one with the newer CVTs are a lot better,

but the older ones, they weren't good.

And then radiators were bad.

And oil leaks.

Oh my goodness.

Oil leaks and fluid leaks were really bad on them.

OK.

Well, when we come back from break, one,

we've got Grover on the line with a 2012 Cadillac question.

Two, we've got to get into some news

because the least popular car brands in America,

according to consumer reports, also includes Nissan.

So we got to talk about that.

And I'll tell everybody a little bit more next.

Let's jump in to all of it right now.

Let's go to Grover on the line.

He's got a 2012 Cadillac question.

Grover, you are on with coach Charlie.

Yes, coach Charlie.

I have a 2012 CTS Cadillac.

And my indicator light comes on and says,

service time monitor system.

I checked all my cars and they have 35 inches of square inches

of pressure.

So can you give me some idea as to what the problem might?

Yeah, when did that sensor start coming on?

Did it come on when it was cold?

Or did it come on just all of a sudden,

like when the temperature is hot outside or what?

Well, yeah.

It's been like that about three or four weeks.

And I've, in fact, I've bought a whole new set of tires.

And that did not clear up the problem.

And it comes on, but it doesn't stay on.

It'll go off and maybe stay off for 10 hours.

If you bought a new set of tires, first of all,

what year is that car again?

I'm sorry.

2012.

OK, each one of those tire pressure monitoring sensors

has a battery.

It's a battery in those sensors.

You can't replace that battery.

Those sensors had to be replaced, all of them.

You know, if the Cadillac's not telling you which one is bad,

that means that all of them had to be replaced and be recalibrated.

And maybe I'm not saying when you got new tires

that they didn't calibrate it, but if they did not

calibrate the TPS system in there,

all those lights aren't going to come on.

So it needs to be calibrated.

So it may need to be calibrated.

The TPS system needs to be calibrated.

Right.

And if not, you want to get new sensors.

New sensors?

Yeah, see if they can calibrate it first.

Yeah, and I wouldn't go to the Cadillac dealer.

I would go to a tire shop.

Yeah, that's where I'd go back to where I bought this tire.

Right, and they might have not calibrated those

because they should have told you

if a sensor was bad or something at that time.

And they can check those sensors.

They got a monitor that they can put on each tire.

They can go by each sensor.

It's right there on the vial stem, right inside the vial stem.

And they can monitor each one of those

and tell you which one's not working

and if it's not been recalibrated.

Okay, you are fine.

That sounds good.

You know, I was thinking about Grover.

Okay, on Sesame Street, you know who Grover is, right?

Both of these Grovers are very nice.

He was all, but some people couldn't,

Miss Piggy was the Muppets.

But they crossed them.

Okay.

I thought, right?

No.

I don't know.

I should probably know better.

They're all Jim Henson.

That's for sure.

I like the Cookie Monster.

They're all Jim Henson.

Because I want to eat the cookies too.

We have gone off on a tangent.

Let's get back to Nissan.

Speaking of Nissan, so here is some of the current models.

The ones who I say aren't as fun as the discontinued ones.

That includes the Altima, the Aria, the Armada,

the Frontier, the GTR, the Kicks, the Kicks Play,

which I don't know what that is,

but that sounds fun.

The Leaf, the Murano, the Pathfinder,

Rogue, Sentra, Titan, Versa, and the Z.

So we have one truck left,

and that's going to be the Frontier,

like I read the Titan.

Yeah, one truck left.

All these nice vehicles that you love to drive,

but now we're into the Twilight Zone of new models

that we don't even know anything about.

Autonomous.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

You know, there's autonomous Nissan out there,

and if you're going to drive autonomous vehicle,

you're going to be very careful about this one here.

This one here just automatically breaks

whenever it wants to.

It may stop in another road, and it doesn't matter.

It just stops.

Speaking of a consumer report for 2025,

are listing the least popular car brands in America.

It features 27 brands, and it was topped

by luxury names like Lexus, Porsche, and BMW.

Tesla also made the top coming in third

while Rivian got the top spot as well.

Those are for the best ones,

but these are the least popular at the bottom spots.

Chrysler?

Well, that's the start, so always.

Yeah, Chrysler is one of them,

and I guess it's just reviews,

a lot of consumer affair reviews.

One lady said, I expected much better service and support,

but all I received is frustration and poor service,

and so she was saying buy or beware.

I haven't driven a Chrysler, so I don't know,

but I do know somebody who had one.

Right, but you know they only make one sedan now.

They made a lot of them, and they no longer make them.

Okay, okay.

Volkswagen is on that list as well,

and so somebody over at Consumer Affairs

left a one-star review saying don't buy a Volkswagen,

especially a Taos.

So I don't know what kind of problems that they had,

but they are like no doubt.

They had a lot of scams going on

because of the scandals with the emission.

Okay.

It is a fuel emission.

Okay, so here's some numbers for you to go off of.

Out of 560 reviews on Consumer Affairs

for Volkswagen models, 480 of them came

with a one-star rating.

So if you wanna crunch those numbers

as to how people feel about Volkswagen's

through Consumer Reports or Consumer Affairs,

that's how they feel.

That's how they feel.

Mercedes-Benz is also on that list as well,

and so people are having problems with that.

Jeep, of course, I've heard so many problems with that,

and then Nissan, there it is, right there.

Now we're not saying-

Out of 27 brands, Nissan came in 24th place.

Now we're not saying that Nissan's not a good company

and they don't make good cars.

They do make good cars,

but everybody has bad days,

and bad days end up being turned into bad cars.

So just make sure you look out there

and make sure you get what you're paying for.

Yeah, Consumer Reports states that Nissan vehicles

come with low overall scores

because of up and down reliability

and average to below average owner satisfaction.

The brand still lags behind many competitors

and ranks just 22nd out of 32 road tested brands.

And so the up and down quality is evident

with customer reviews on the website, of course,

and they go all over the place.

Reviews for the brand, overall,

on Consumer Affairs are not kind.

A whopping 783 out of 946 gave it one star.

I think when you go on Consumer Affairs,

you're just ready for a one star review,

I promise you, I'm going to Consumer Reports right now.

Well, when you start talking about the vehicle

and the problems they had and the reliability,

stalling, overheating, oil leaks,

misfiring, electrical problems, general malfunctions.

We talked about the brakes and improper fuel gauges.

There's all kinds of problems with these cars

and it doesn't matter what manufacturer has,

they all have problems.

But a lot of these things have already been recalled

and you need to check your car

and make sure it's not on the recall list.

That's right, that's right.

And I'll include a link to this story

in our show's podcast description.

Before we had to break though, coach,

let's end on a good note,

give me a pro or pros about the Nissan.

Oh, I love their trucks.

I thought the Titan, you know,

it had the 5.7 liter engine in it.

That was their Japanese version.

But you know, I love their trucks.

The Frontier, that's a nice mid-sized truck.

It's got a little bit bigger now.

It looks more like the Ranger's a bigger truck.

But what got me on the Frontier

is that you had to remove the intake to replace the starter.

Well, that means you gotta remove

the whole top of the engine to replace the starter.

That's not a good place.

And that's why some of these vehicles

are being discontinued because-

They were just built wrong.

They were just built, like I say,

they've been in business for a long time

and you can get lemons in any manufacturer's vehicles.

They're out there.

And there's recourse for all of them.

But like I say, just check your vehicle out.

Make sure you look at it.

Here's a new car review from Casey Williams.

It's Auto Casey on Auto Correct.

Nissan just announced it's going to drop the Aria.

It's mid-sized like a crossover.

But we can keep a lot of that EV look

in the 2025 Nissan Marano.

And on the outside, it does look like an EV.

It looks very futuristic, very modern.

The LED headlamps are all integrated in,

arching roofline and the 21-inch wheels, very sleek.

Inside, also very luxurious.

Heated, ventilated, massaging front seats,

Bose audio system, twin panel roof.

And for a little bit of that EV feel,

it's got the twin panel dashboard with a touch screen

and it's got controls that look like they're embedded

in a wood grain panel.

But this is a gas powered vehicle.

So under the hood, a two liter turbocharged

four cylinder engine delivers 241 horsepower,

260 pound feet of torque and gas mileage isn't bad.

20 miles per gallon of the city, 27 on the highway.

And it drives pretty nice with plenty of power.

So let's talk about price.

Well, the Marano starts right at $40,000.

This one all in with luxury package, $51,415.

That is your decision, do your research.

Please do, because I, you know,

that's why I say too about these consumer reports

and people, you know, somebody just had one

that they didn't like and they went out there.

So that doesn't mean it's gonna happen to you.

Right, and I think we have to be careful on that

because people will say, well, you told me that.

Nope, nope, that's why I wanna tell you,

I didn't tell you that.

I wanna make sure that you do your research,

that you find out if the vehicle is good for you.

All right, Coach, so any other,

what do we wanna leave out on on our Nissan

first Thursday's talk today?

Well, when you start talking about the Nissan's,

make sure you check your recalls.

And like I say, Nissan, they do these vehicles of Nissan,

their first plant opened in 1983 in Sermurna.

They came to America in 1958, I do believe.

When you think about Nissan,

Nissan is a brand that you see all the time.

Nissan's heavy in Mississippi, okay?

A lot of people work at Nissan

and they do produce good vehicles.

And a lot of them.

Yes, a lot of them.

But a lot of times now they're producing vehicles

in Mississippi and the United States

to send back to other countries now, back to Japan.

So instead of them sending them over here,

now we're sending them back over there.

Right, right, right.

Well, listen, you know, my brain just thought about

if anybody had listened to Think Radio last year,

you were able to hear a lady who I really do appreciate.

She works at Alabama Public Radio

and her name is Lacey Alexander.

And when I look at the discontinued models,

Lacey had this saying that she'd like to say,

she would say, rip to them, not rest in peace,

she would say, rip to them, and so in my best Lacey,

rip to them voice to all of these,

like the Quest and the Titan and the Murano

and all of these, the Skyline.

Let's throw the leaf out there for a minute.

Okay, let's throw it out.

The leaf is a EV, and believe it or not,

Nissan was the first one to mass produce

an electric vehicle.

It had a range of 106 miles.

Yeah.

But they were the first ones to mass produce it.

It started in 2010, I do believe, but 106 miles

and now they're up to 226 miles.

That's not much more, but it did double the capacity

and mile range, but new and upcoming technology,

Nissan is working on futuristic cars out there.

They're working on the autonomous car out there.

And they do have some of them out there,

but technology is changing day in and day out.

So you gotta keep up with technology.

They manufacture, they had to keep up with technology

because us as consumers, especially the young generation,

wants technology, you know,

or us older generation like me,

well, technology sort of scares me sometimes,

but it shouldn't.

Right.

We should just go forward with it

and make it work for us.

And rolled like Nissan.

They've got all kinds of models.

They didn't came out with technology-wise and everything.

There's so many models,

they couldn't even put it on a Wikipedia page.

Have you ever looked at when they go to these car shows,

these big ones where they're bringing out a new vehicle

and a lot of them are concept cars

that never hit the road?

You know, I would think I'd like one of those concept cars

instead of some of the ones they make now.

They hit the road.

All the manufacturers.

Right.

Give me the floor model, please.

Give me that floor model.

If you only make one, I'll still drive it.

Right.
