113kWh battery and 400kW DC fast charging. I know, 400s is fast.
10-80% in 15 minutes. 10 minutes of charging gets you 300km of driving.
The new Cayenne will be all-wheel drive up to 1,000hp, 0-62 in less than 3 seconds.
Global debut is going to be in November, but they've really worked on the cooling plates, the cooling system
and how this thing charges. It's going to be a beast.
Peugeot's 308, a much more affordable family car.
Around 37,000 pounds in the UK to fit underneath our UK government grant threshold.
It gets a new battery, bumping it from 51 to 55.5kWh.
A new front end to meet the new design style of the Peugeot family as well.
Much more efficient and more range. Almost 300 miles on that little E3-08.
That's a great family car.
Maruti Suzuki, India's largest car maker.
Starting production of the E Vitara for export markets in right and left hand drive.
BYD is exporting cars made in Thailand.
They're using completely knocked down kits made in China, chipped to Thailand,
assembled there and then to Europe and that avoids the new EU anti-subsidy rules.
That added 30.1, 30.7% to BYD vehicles made in China.
Making them in Thailand, very smart.
Hyundai will reveal a new subcompact concept at the IAA show in Munich next month.
This will be similar to the Kia version, the EV2, around 25,000 pounds.
Coming next year, Hyundai has patented a new cost reducing solid state EV battery technology.
A way to use copper in solid state cells in the past, more expensive materials used.
This will reduce the price of solid state batteries.
Tesla is considering a Model Y price hike according to the new head of sales in the US,
posting on X that the strong demand with the expiration of the federal tax credit
means a price hike could be incoming.
The EU and the US are considering unifying a kind of mutual recognition of vehicle standards.
If you worries about that, we have much stricter pedestrian safety standards.
That's why we don't have big trucks here with sort of front slab sided fronts
because pedestrian safety rules much higher here.
But if we do mutually recognize the EU and the US vehicle safety standards,
it would mean perhaps that a lot of smaller vehicles could go from Europe to the US,
particularly electric ones that wouldn't have to be redesigned.
Blink charging, joining with the Luxembourg base next lab as part of their big energy system,
meaning that chargers work with energy storage with the grid through energy industry protocols
to make smart charging a much more coordinated affair.
Some GBS new research coming out from DirectLine, a big UK insurer, a very reputable company,
is that two thirds of EV drivers have waited over 10 minutes to charge in the last year
and that the average wait time at a public charger is 22 minutes.
That seems very high, very negative, doesn't resonate with any other research that I see.
They say they asked a thousand EV owners who've waited on average 22 minutes to charge their vehicle.
Two thirds of the what? That seems like a massively high number.
Okay, well, I don't agree with that, but that's what DirectLine say.
The EU auto industry is writing to the head,
the president of the EU commission to say that 2035 combustion van is unthinkable
and they want more leeway. That's briefly.
