The Polestar 4 is a new electric car that looks sporty and is good for people who want a stylish and clean car. It runs on electricity instead of gas, so it’s better for the environment. There will also be a version with more space for carrying things, like a bigger trunk.
Plug-in hybrids are cars that can use both electricity and gas. You can charge their batteries by plugging them in, and they can drive some distance just on electricity.
Kariad is a part of Volkswagen that makes the computer programs used in their cars to help them run better, especially for electric and self-driving cars.
The Dacia Spring Electric Cargo is a small electric van that helps people deliver goods around the city. It's cheap to buy and run, and because it’s electric, it doesn’t use gas or make pollution. It’s great for businesses that need a simple vehicle to carry things in busy towns.
Decentralizing energy storage means spreading out where energy is saved, like using many cars' batteries instead of just one big battery. This helps keep electricity working better and safer.
The Renault 5 Turbo 3E is a new electric car that looks like an old sporty Renault 5. It uses electricity instead of gas to move and has a cool design.
The Alpine A110 is a small sports car made in France. It is light and easy to drive, with a design that looks like older sports cars but with modern technology.
Autopilot is a system in Tesla cars that helps the car drive itself in some situations, like keeping distance from other cars and staying in the lane. But it still needs the driver to pay attention.

It's EV News briefly for Thursday 19th of February, everything EV in less than five minutes.
If you haven't got time for the full podcast, let's get you fully up to speed.
We'll start with news of EV owner satisfaction hitting new highs.
All-time records never been higher.
Even with the loss of the federal tax credit in the United States, the JD Power US EV Experience Ownership Study
asked almost 6,000 owners of new EVs about their satisfaction rates.
Sixth time they've done this survey since 2021, and all new highs reached.
96% of EV owners said they would buy or lease another EV, whether or not there was a tax credit in place.
The most satisfied owners are Tesla owners, followed by BMW i4 drivers,
Mustang Mach E, Hyundai Onyx 6, and Kirae V9 drivers.
Polestar is plotting four new models.
That's going to be the new Polestar 5, engineered by the UK R&D team.
That comes this summer.
Then the estate version of the Polestar 4, which I've talked about on the podcast,
we've seen camouflage China testing on that.
That's going to be the kind of wagon shooting break style.
They'll sell it as the Polestar 4 coupe, adding a rear window back into that.
Then there's going to be the new Polestar 2 coming early next year, an entirely new platform for that.
And it's going to be a little longer than the outgoing car that sold almost 200,000 Polestar 2s already.
And then there's going to be a Polestar 7 compact SUV for the European market.
Not ruling out the Polestar 6 drop top sports car, but that'll be high-end and that's still TBC.
Polestar's next four models do face US tariffs, though.
The Polestar 5 will be made in Chongqing, and it faces tariffs, which would push it over 250,000 US dollars.
So, yeah, no, that's not happening.
At least Polestar 4 is made in South Korea.
They'll make the Polestar 4 shooting break, or coupe wagon style there as well.
Polestar 2 would be China made, fine for Europe and the UK, but not great for America.
And then there's other cars as well that would need to source production, not in China,
to not to rule them out from being prohibitively expensive.
And by the way, Polestar's CEO pointing out that many of his competitors are going back to talking about combustion,
e-rebs, plug-in hybrids, just to make some money.
He says Polestar will never do that because, well, he didn't say this, but I'll say this.
Not enough people need to know what the Polestar brand even stands for.
So he pointed out that the average buyer's 45 years old, they want to go younger as well,
and that younger people don't want to buy into a brand that is now making overtures back to combustion and burning things.
So pure electric for them.
Scout Motors is next in the news.
They face a possible one-year slip, according to a German report,
Beagle magazine saying Volkswagen pushing Scout back to 2028 at least because of delays with the software.
They've had to put that back to Kariad, their own software department,
not the Rivian Joint Venture because they're going to do an e-rev or harvester in their language version.
And Rivian, they want to be working on software control systems for pistons.
So that has been denied by the Scout Community Forum.
Dacia are updating the Spring with a new 24.3 kilowatt-hour lithium-ion phosphate battery and a new 75 kilowatt motor.
That's 100 horsepower. That's a big gain, but 9% better efficiency on the new Dacia Spring.
That little sort of sub-15k urban car that I really like.
It's not as well-spec as its competitors, but that's a cute-looking car.
EVs will merge with grid storage.
That's according to the old CEO of Volkswagen, Herbert Dease, talking on a podcast link in the show notes.
You want to listen to it? It's in English language, by the way, only half an hour long,
talking about how to decentralize energy storage by using cars.
The next Alpine A10 could be on the same platform as the Renault 5 Turbo 3E.
That's pretty special.
And Tesla has dropped their autopilot naming after California's DMV.
Told them they had to if they want to carry operations in the state.
So they have done and can Tesla get to carry on. That's briefly.
