Let's brew! What's going on CarGuy's and CarGuy's? Look at who it is that we wrote into name ad.
The one, the only, Brian Ortega! Let's go baby!
Folks, this is one of the best creatives in automotive. You've heard us say it before,
we're going to stick to that comment, but this is also his first time at name ad with us. Brother,
what made you want to come out for this event? This is awesome, it's in Vegas so I got to drive here,
all right, which is great. It's a Cali kid, Cali kid. Cali, Cali, going back, back to Cali, Cali,
yeah, we're just going to keep going. And so what's great is that you have to take the swag home.
This was awesome, so the opening reception, when they started with Bill Bibb de Beau and they
were doing the Humpty Dance, I was like, this is my place. These are my peeps, right? I see these
guys and I'm like, okay, we're sir dancing. That's right, you already know we're going to be out there
dancing. I know you're going to be out there getting a little groove on, having fun, smiling,
laughing. That's what you do, bro. And that's something that I always love about you.
Lou said a minute ago, when you talk about creative, this guy knows what's up, man. He has a genius
mind in so many ways. He's good in front of a camera, he's a great actor, as you can see. But
beyond that, he's a good family man. He has children that he absolutely loves that are coming up.
You have one that's coming up in the automotive industry right now, and it's such a blessing
to be part of this industry. Being minorities like we are, having our own community as they say,
being part of a unique community and getting into this thing gave us stuff that we didn't
know was possible. That's for sure. You've been in automotive for how long? It's about 14 years.
Yeah, it's pretty crazy. And it all started with you walking in to take pictures. Is that what it was?
Yeah, so I was just hired to take photos of used cars. And I came from doing a typical mundane
job where there was no chance to move up. But the cream rises to the top, right? And
gain recognized game. And then my GM just saw something in me and I just kept elevating moving
up. And that's what's awesome about this industry. I was just flipping what he was saying.
You guys can obviously see this is our brother from another mother's dude, man,
my very favorite Uber driver. Seriously. Oh, yeah, we got that's another podcast.
But seriously, it is. It's a whole lot of fun anytime we're around Brian and anywhere that
Brian goes. He's infectious with his energy, but he also translates that into his craft.
So there's so much creative that comes out of him, but it's all fun. It's all engaging.
Most of it is freaking hilarious. You want to know? Not all of it. Not all of it.
Most of it is absolutely hilarious. He'll get into different character modes, create different
things. What is usually the process that you guys go through in trying to put together the creative
that you're going to make for your community? So I just tried to find what's going on in the
world that's relevant, because if somebody's going to notice something, they have to have seen
it somewhere else before. And you want to have that relevant content that people can just attribute
to their everyday life, whether it's the game of thrones ending and then create a commercial
called the game of loans or having eight years worth of zombie commercials every time or even a
spoof on the backstreet boys. That was awesome. That was awesome. You even do spooks of like it's
time for like the election year. I love how you guys get into that, having fun between you and
your other members in your team, general managers and owners, right? I love that. It's always been
fun to watch you do your thing. And that's made me a fan of you before we became friends, man. I
always was a fan and I still am a fan of yours. I love watching what he does. I love your support
of what we do. Being again that we are minorities in automotive, where they at? Where they at?
They're MIA. They're at NA. There they go. And that's actually him from the genius of this mind
right here. I absolutely love that. And I got a feeling that by next name, Matt, we're going to be
talking about that even bigger. There's going to be even more people representing that. But that being
said, MIA, baby, being a minority, what has being a minority done for you as in what has that done
for you to motivate yourself to try to step up and do big things? So we want to be motivating to
other people. It's family, right? So we talk minorities. We got to look out for each other.
We got to build each other up. Because far too often, a lot of people overlook us or either put
us down or try to make us shy away from things like that. But the fact that we're doing this thing,
I'm motivating my kids to do something even better. And then you just want that generation to keep
growing and keep growing. Keep growing. Keep growing. Y'all see how we do that?
That's awesome. But part of that though, with your kids growing, they also, they're watching you
be a creative and now they're inside of their own vein as creatives as well. You even have a son
in the business now. Tell us a little bit more about that. Yeah. So Ethan is working in
Ethan Ortega. All right. He's out there. Great kid. And he is going to do far more than I ever
will, which is that's what we want. Yeah. So for him to work at Stella and then just have these
different opportunities. And so he always talks to me about coding. I'm like, I'm just
that's awesome. We all support our kids and expect so much from them, but some expect so much for
them. Oh, that's good. And they deserve it. We worked hard to be able to provide that for them
and show them a path and make it easier for them. And it's beautiful to see our children actually
take those. I wouldn't call it an advantage, but see that it's possible and actually be two steps
ahead of us at that age. Maybe sometimes 10 steps ahead of us. Exactly. And I love that legacy
matters to us being able to show our children that it doesn't matter skin color, doesn't matter,
you put hard work in, you could be big, you could do whatever you want. And again, this country is,
there is faults in our country, but it's still the greatest country in the world. And there's
still so many opportunities for all of us. And when you're together with a bunch of people like
we are here at Naemat, you feel it, you know, because you see success in people who look just
like you, who act just like you dress just like you listen to the same music and do the same
line dances we all do. When you have those people around you, you feel connected and you feel like
that old saying or rising tide lifts all ships, right? And we feel that here. When you're here,
this tide, that's a beautiful colorful tide that's full of community that's just rising
everyone up together and you see it. So you're going to believe it. Yeah, this is great. Naemat
is awesome, man. Just pulling through. And it's, I don't know, like when you go to church and you
go to another one and you just feel that spirit. Yeah. Yeah. So definitely we'll be back whether
it's here or for the next year. Yeah, definitely be back if it's down in Miami, but we're going to
be back no matter what. I'm just saying, I'm hoping that he's coming back and he has like a shirt
with CGC media on it or something like that. We'll see. I'm still going to be trying to push it for
that. But this guy's the man. Folks, I appreciate you always, Brian, for being that person. We
haven't done a five liner with you. You keep telling me that. We did. I thought we did. It's
been a while. So maybe it's time to do a follow up. So we're going to do a follow up with Brian
really soon and make sure that you guys hear more about what's going on in his life, what's
happening and where he's taking it. It's going to be an exclusive one. So be looking for that
really soon. This is our guy. This is our bro right here. So yes, brother from another mother.
And if you want to reach out to Brian, how can they do that? Yeah, hit me up on LinkedIn on
always posting stuff on LinkedIn. Or if you want to go to my website, it's brianjortega.com.
Too easy. Brian Julius, huh? No, Joseph. Oh, okay. Joseph.
I'll mess with you. I'll mess with you. But Car Guys, Car Guys, seriously, reach out to him. If
you want to learn, he'll even just give you free coaching. Okay. And understanding what it is
that you need to look at to help it out. I did let him know that. It's very, but there's also put
it a consulting thing on that. It's for charging because I'm gonna, if you really want to hit me
up, hit me up. There's no doubt. And he's always down to have a conversation, but he'll charge you.
Brian's a good dude. Reach out to him seriously. BrianJortega.com. Check him out. Brian's right here.
Oh, are we doing that? Maybe this will work out. I don't know. Let's see.
Thank you so much for paying attention, for watching, and for checking us out
over here at NAMAD. Got one Hispanic brother on the microphone, and we're excited, excited to
have him here. And just be hanging with us. Again, building a community like this, it's important
that you have people that you can trust, people that you're thankful to be able to run with,
and grow with. This is an awesome individual that you can break bread with, you can laugh with,
and break tortillas with. Yes, we break tortillas. Yes, yes, yes, especially out there in Cali.
That's what you want to do that. Let's talk guac. Let's talk that guac. Let's go. We got him.
Write that one down, everybody. All right, Car Guys and Car Gals, you know what to do. We're
Car Guys and Car Gals, you can brew solutions on the Car Guy Coffee Podcast with the one,
the only Brian, Johnny, and Ortega.
