LIVE
Welcome back to the Martini works podcast the number one automotive podcast in the world that has the most beef jerky in it
That's a fact. It might be I'm here with a couple special people
Oh
Go ahead and introduce yourself. You know I'm Lars. Yeah, you've been here before I'm gels and I'm Dakota
Thank you guys for tuning in. I should have a good podcast today. We're gonna talk a little bit about ice racing
We're gonna be talking about cars to modify that no one thinks of
Did a little bit of research for that and then maybe get into some automotive news
So starting out we just got back from ice racing this weekend and for me
It was the first time I've ever been out on the lake for ice autocross
I've grown up ice fishing my entire life like I've always been out on the lake during winters somehow some way
Been in the cars practically my whole life, too. I've just avoided ice autocross
I don't know how and I'm pissed at myself for avoiding it. It was amazing. It was so cool
Yeah, it was awesome
They the Fox Valley Sports Car Club had a one-to-one replica or pretty close of a racetrack
We have nearest Blackhawk farms and they just plowed it on the ice to drive on dang
That's cool. It was awesome
And then they had like a little side track next to it, too
But I couldn't I didn't know what to expect because I've never been one
I could not believe the amount of people that were out there. It was a full-on parking lot
I think Brent said there was over 80 drivers registered. Holy shitty cars. Yeah, yeah
So people are ribbon and there was everything you can think of like there was the stuff you expected, right?
Like you got people with their SUVs and stuff like that
They kind of more expect to be out there ice racing, but then there was Corvette's and
Camaro's Mustangs Miata's Miata's with the top down Miata's with the top up. I'm not joking. I've seen it all
Subaru's SDI Evo's everything and Lars had his M5 out there. What were you running out there like for
Tyres and wheels and everything. Yeah, I slapped the
Put some Michelin Pilot. What are they?
Pilot Alpine PA4 is that name is really difficult on the on the Rihanna's and sent it
These are the same winter tires I had on the M2 for four years, but I've also never been on the ice
So that was that was a new one for me
But the variety of cars was kind of incredible there like it was all like you were saying all kinds of random cars
We saw an old like Riley Audi's with like the safari lights and everything
Mm-hmm. So sick. Miata's with studs a bunch of Corvettes
Yeah, speaking of studs too like I've always known of studded tires and like I've seen some on dirt bikes and stuff
But like to see them on a car. I didn't do they were like yeah two three inches coming out of the tire
Holy shit, like they're massive. I thought they would have been like kind of like that's what I thought more like like like a
Cleat or something right right? No, like huge
In a lot of these guys like I was talking to one guy with me
How do we have a video coming out on it?
He's like I did the night before and he's like running on monsters and cigarettes
I don't know and but he said it was his wife's car and he studded the tires, but it's really interesting
So they delam the tire themselves. Okay, just shred all the tread off and then they
Put in just a ton of studs. It's essentially just like a slick, but just with yep
Yeah, iron man. Yeah, they're just like screw from the inside out just blew my mind how huge they are
Do it look fucking bad ass? It doesn't really matter. I guess what you think that wouldn't hold the air
Yeah, it was the whole thing was weird me and Brent were talking to Brett's like
You'd de-lam it like ain't that kind of sketchy's like oh, they're brand new and just took the tread off
There's a lot of cars that did it
One of them suckers blue my god Jesus the whole process is really confusing me
Like I don't understand why they delaminate the tires. I guess I should have asked somebody while we were out there
Yeah, because it's like you never really touching the tread to begin with I'm assuming it's to get even
Because you want as much penetration as possible into the ice sure and if you have blocks on no blocks
And kind of I think you just want to the more more
Spike you can get out the better use a longer screw because it was it was impressive because even like the Miata
He dumped the clutch and ripped out first. We asked him to and you know, he still can spin them
Yeah, you know, so it's like you do need and it was like there's a lot of spots that were glare ice
Sure
Yeah, I'd imagine if they like went out there and like plot it so like how I guess
That's so great likes like the studded tires and stuff does it like tear up the ice I would imagine right yeah
So when we got out there we kind of they took turns between studded cars and just regular rubber tires
Or and the way it worked was the first people out with the studded tires
Because the the whole lake where they just plowed the snow was just sheet ice, right?
So, you know, obviously you can kind of drive on it, but not not very fast
And and what I learned was that the studded guys prefer the sheet ice
And then what they do is they'll tear the surface up, you know with the spikes and stuff
It kind of makes traction then over time they lose traction and then that that same
Slush that the studded guys create on the surface is what the guys with the rubber tires can then grip onto sure and actually get traction
So that makes that a really cool rotation of cars going so that we were kind of making grip for each other and the longer
The sessions went the slower everybody got. Yeah, it was interesting to see for sure
But if you don't know about ice, I don't care what winter tires you have on it doesn't really matter
You like need studs to have traction at that point when it's glare ice like I was even in the forerunner
I
Headed out there to film some content with Brent and the guys and just check it out and see the event do some ride alongs
And there's a couple that I was whipping around in the forerunner out on a lake
You're gonna have some fun and it was like I would hit patches where there was just glare ice dude
I couldn't do nothing. I was at the mercy of the lake at that
But just sliding until I hit some snow or you know land in something
So it was like it was a big realization to me that like
Studs are a game changer out there for specifically for ice. It was wild because there's so much snow and just like
You know like a dusting of snow on everything and then again the slush being created from the studs that you were following people
And they were kicking up all the stuff. It's like driving in the in the rain basically you couldn't see anything
And again, you're on ice. You never know
Specifically where you're gonna have traction on so following people was really terrifying
I was driving with Chris a lot yesterday
And you know a couple times I would catch them down the straight specifically
And I'd be like a little sketched out when he would flick it in for a drift
And I'm trying to like go as fast as I can instead like I hope he doesn't spin like this, you know
Was he running studded tires? No, okay. He had he also just regular winter tires. Yeah, all right
There was a ton running studded tires though that yeah, there really was surprised me too
I just didn't think it was as common as it was actually seen those right. Yeah, and it was like even
Chris from flink films. He was out there and he was doing some I guess reverse chasing
I haven't people, you know follow him cuz he had his whole SUV rigged up with the camera hanging out the back
And he had studded tires on that
It was really cool to see I'd like to see the shots he got to I'm sure it'll be coming out with him shortly
But yeah, we got some footage on his camera rigs set up because we were like dude, this is insane
This is so damn cool. It was neat
But yeah, a lot of people were running studded tires for sure now
I have this thing where it's like I want to buy like a $3,000 car and just use it for ice racing
I feel like that's what a lot of people did
Like there's a PT Cruiser out there with studded tires ripping it
Yeah, I interviewed that guy
I thought it was a PT GT because I see an intercooler hanging out the front. I'm like, oh sick
We gotta go interview that guy turns out he bought this car and has had it like
forever and
It's been through its courses, but he swapped an SRT for engine into the regular PT Cruiser
And then he had SRT seats and then so it was it was rough
But he he uses this thing right like he drives the absolute
I feel like an ice race car is a specific type of build
You think but there's a C7 Corvette stingray out there
That's fair that they custom fab their own metal bumper on the front of it
And then the rest of it was just normal and dude, he was ripping out there
So apparently he got into an accident with that car. Oh really custom fab that bumper. Oh, he hit something hell
Broke it and then oh, it's a nice car now. Yeah, it said it
They had a chance to just custom fab that that bumper. It looks sick. It was like a mad max thing
Yeah, a hundred percent with the studded tires and then the metal from Bob
They look mean as hell the studs are scary too because you look in the fenders like there's no clearance
No, some of them like the studs it looks like they're touching the in the fender line
I was gonna say it like if you're going over like a bumper or something like that
I just gonna like we're putting load in a turn and yeah, I was so confused by that
I was like, how are these people not just absolutely
Ripping fenders up and apparently they break studs all the time like that's a normal thing
Yeah, some of the guys were saving their new tires or they're fully studded tires for the time runs that were in the afternoon
Sure, so they didn't shred the studs off and they're breaking all the time thing. That's brutal
Yeah, rule all around but yeah, I really want to I want to do it because I want to experience driving a car with
Studs and how that feels it's got to just be so what they actually have quote-unquote traction on ice like that
Yeah, I was asking some of the guys about that and they were they're describing that in a straight line
It feels like I mean like snow like slush like we've all done that
But then when you turn it and set the car that apparently feels a lot like dirt racing
Where like there'll be traction in spots, but you're not just you know hooked up like you would be with it with a good street
Yeah, okay, we hear it. See I gotta sounds really fun. Yeah, you slide but like
It controlled slide. Yeah. Yeah, it sounds like basically where you're looking for where there's
Again from I understand I have not done this yet, but that you're looking for where there's less slush and more ice
So it's something for you to literally like spike into sure and then that's where you find the grip
Yeah, so it explains it was like the cushion and the dirt. Yeah, yeah
I remember him talking about that a bit when we had him on here that that makes sense here
You're pretty much hunt you're not hunting for the line essentially of the corner
You're hunting for the line of the best like surface at that point
Which the layout they had was really cool for that because the the final corner
To go to like where the cars were coming out to start was a really really high-speed right right hander
So they in without studs. I was just drifting that whole corner basically like like I'm not even like 45 50 miles an hour
She's a small drive slide like that was sick
So I can imagine that felt incredible on it on a studded like 50 Z that was out there
Yeah, like that C7 Corvette we found a one of the like FPV shots of him driving and it looked like he's going about
120 into one of the terms
Believe it people were ripping out there is crazy
But if you guys have never been to a nice event if you are blessed to be living in a state that has frozen lakes
Make the best of it. Go check it out. They were so accepting everyone there was so damn cool again
First time I've ever been to events. I was walking around kind of like an idiot like trying to figure out like can I be over here?
Because I just went in spectating originally, but everyone was giving me shit of take the four in around take the four go take
So what I'd recommend to you to maybe go and plan on spectating
But keep in the bag you might go do it like bring a daily commuter if you can drive out onto the ice and get
I think just go for a lab. Just go have fun. There's a lot less
Risk I would say because you're out on a flat lake where the biggest thing you're gonna have is price snow drifts and snow
Banks for the most part or other drivers I guess but there was no accidents like that
That happened
But if you just have a daily commuter car at stock ride height dude
Go send it in it is so much dang fun to open it up lars. You did have some
With the m5 go on I had a bit of an oopsie ironically
It wasn't even during the when I was on the track
Of course going between the two tracks so so yeah the a lot of the snow banks were kind of like curbs
You know so on the track you can touch them
You know you can kind of hit them if you're sliding into one, but in your you're gonna be mostly okay
Yeah, but some of the other ones that weren't conditioned by cars touching them all the time. We're pretty firm
So much so that actually in the paddock quote-unquote right where we parked
I was literally had the m5 parked on a piece of snow just for fun
Yeah, and we were talking about how firm it is like it like the snow felt like ice
It was basically frozen snow out. Yeah, so going between the the two tracks
It's all again. You're just on a lake so everything's just you know blue or white like all you can't really there's no depth perception
So I hit a snow bank or I saw it too late, and it was like I can't I'm not gonna be able to stop
It's ice so like I'll just I'll just hit it straight
I'll just jump it if the car bounces whatever right, you know again like we're talking
Maybe sidewalk curb height
turns out that snow bank was soft and it just plowed inside my lower front grill on the m5 and
Definitely broke the lower grill and like a support structure behind it, but luckily
The oil cooler which sits and the transmission cooler which sits directly behind that or safe
Okay, it's no no leak or anything so still is manageable. I'll be yeah, we'll figure out no biggie
But it's at a blast with it and again the diversity of cars is really cool
But there's also a lot of different people like I've we've seen a lot of the guys from that we've met at car shows before
I didn't know they had you know race cars that they were go go drive on
There's a lot of female drivers out there and would look like just GRD sixes with winter tires
That's sick
there's one my wife was with me and
There's a person in front of us in a lifted GRD six just like hers just on winter tires
so that was really cool to see and
The fun thing I'll say again just to double down and you should go do it
I want to go do it again. The the funnest part is everybody's spinning out. Yeah, there's no perfect line
You're not gonna like obviously you can compete, but nobody has every lap be a perfect lap
So unlike what I'm used to on on road America where you know spinning is bad or going off is really bad I
Spun so many times man. I had people spin out in front of me
We had this we had informed a train like waiting for somebody to get unstuck
In a snow bank like it's all just fun and everybody understands how silly it is
So right like nobody's literally on a sheet of ice. So it's just a silly thing. How was like the surface wise, right?
But imagine it's a bit smoother than our winter autocross experience. Yeah, not even comparable. That was so yeah
If you guys didn't know we went to this two years ago a couple years ago
We went to road America to do their winter autocross I brought the Supra gels brought his BMW
and
We got a crazy winter storm like a few days. They had to postpone it
Yeah, it was so bad that winter for the winter autocross. It was crazy
It was one of like the gnarliest storms of the year
So they postponed it but what happened in between that time between the snowstorm and then the postpone date was it got super cold
Mega cold so it all froze over and like Lars was talking about with the winter or the ice racing
The snow was just ice essentially. So we went out there and oh my god. It just destroyed our cars
It just beat the hell out of them because we're essentially just driving on rocks
It's it sounded literally like I was hitting potholes 20 times a second still really fun
And I got to a point a couple times in that with the super where I was just like I'm just gonna fucking send it
And I just launched it and I was able to be fairly competitive too
And it was still a blast and there was like c8 corvettes and stuff
But it was so rough
I had to end the day early because I broke my side skirt. I did to my exhaust and I don't remember it was that bad
I was really bad. Yeah, my cars literally started making noise. I think I bent a wheel or something
Because like I already was running like a really tight clearance in the front for like spacing with the
The strut that I had to run like a little spacer
I think it either bent a wheel or knocked something enough out of alignment that like
It when I would like turn it would like hit and so I'm like, I'm like, I'm done, dude
I don't like I need to be able to this is my daily like yeah, that's crazy. Yeah, the surface was was relatively smooth
There are certainly bumps and that you could visibly and from other cars and in the car
You can definitely feel it where
Went wherever the cars were like loaded up the car would like suddenly like skip on the rears, especially
Um, but overall the surface was really smooth. Yeah, like anything goes too smooth
Like inside there was one track that I remember doing it was like it literally was just pounding
Like constantly the entire time you were driving. It was horrible. Yeah, it was really bad
But yeah, this was very like Brent had his genesis out there too
And he is that decently low and he was on his
Stock wheels with winter tires set up and like he was able to do it and run out there
And obviously you're gonna run into bumps and grooves and stuff just from people racing throughout the day
But it wasn't anything like what that was
But yeah, I 100% recommend anyone to do it with whatever they can get their hands at you got a beater pickup truck
You got a daily
Fuck it. You got a fun car bring it out there. Put some snow tires on it and get out there
How to bring the pfm out there can we stud the tires in the pfm? I want to it'd be it'd be really sick if we could do it
Yeah, logistically, it'd be yeah, but dude, it'd be so fun. Oh my god. They're already slicks
So the half of it's taken care of you just gotta do the stud thing. Yeah
Doing a delam it you guys start drilling through those expensive as over there. Yeah
That would be really cool though
But it genuinely like made me want to get like a beater car just to do it
And to again the the diversity out there you can bring anything and just have a ball with it
We saw honda ridge lines. Yeah, like yeah, literally anything tons of meada's
Volkswagen turrug
Mustangs
Yeah, it was anything and everything from really dope stuff to daily stuff and it was it was just a good time
There's such good energy like everyone was there to have fun. I think it was a little bit less of the computer
You could tell there's some people out there competing
More power to them as they should
But a lot of it was very lighthearted and it felt like you said everyone kind of realized how how goofy this is
And it's like
What else are we gonna do when it's this cold out in the middle of winter and we can't have fun with cars mostly
It was also cool for me because it taught me a lot of like foundational things that are similar
You know to what I what I was practicing at in the track
And I was following again. It's following chris who's a very skilled drifter
And it was really fun to watch him and how he sets the car and what he does with his hand movements
You know for the front wheels where where and how hard he applies throttle and such like
I it was really fun to just follow him and learn things like that and just make
Make make you a more comfortable or confident driver on the ice off the ice, you know, whatever you want to do
He was so giddy driving that 350s. He's I love this car. I love this car so very much
And to be fair, he does everything with that thing. He really does. Yeah, he puts it through its paces a trooper
It is like that car like he has
Borrowed to us to go like actual drifting when grid life was here
It still had the martini works livery. I did it. That's cool. Um, yeah that he like
That like someone wants to learn how to drive you like yeah, let's go like here's the car like super good, dude
Also, I think we owe
I think we owe super owners a bit of an apology here. Oh, what's going on?
There were a lot of super who's out there and they were super no
I did not see a single blow up and they were crazy fast. Yeah, one of them was hunting my ass down
On the track. It was crazy. I gotta say, uh, maybe I do owe him a little bit of apology
I was out there getting footage of them. I kept telling Brett because there was one
Um that had like the old school livery on it like the yellow like stars and everything going across side and yet
They were ripping up. There's like this is their natural habitat. This is where they're supposed to be
Yeah, they it was awesome. They were the apex predators out there. That's that's for sure
Yeah, it was super cool. We did a video
I got to talk to one of the owners with uh the sti and he was riding viking contact sevens
And uh, I swear on my life those dudes said he absolutely loved them. Um,
He ran them last year and he said they were phenomenal
And no studs just viking contact sevens and his sti and he was ripping out there
And I got some footage of him driving too
And uh, yeah, he had nothing but he said he absolutely loves those tires
And he was hyped he mentioned too. He's like I saw that that they came out the viking contact eights
I really want to try those out and get those next
But that was just good to hear. I always love when we find continental's out in the wild
Because like I feel like we talk about them all the time and hype them up that you guys may get numb to it
So like when I hear just random people talking about them and loving them
It's like this is what I'm talking about. This is why we like to promote them
Which leads us to the first sponsor martin works podcast
Perfect continental baby. Yeah, if you need winter tires get the viking contact eight make that sti guy jealous
Well, he's running the old viking contact sevens, but we do have spring coming up here
So if you need some all season dws o six plus goaded and fun tires extreme contact sport o twos the secure contact
aw I think o six it's called just launched. I have that on the gi already six. I I'm in love with those
I think they're genuinely good. That's awesome. That's an all weather tire
It's an all weather tire. I've been running for the last month or so now and it's it's genuinely impressed me
That's really good. It's it performs like a winter tire in winter. So i'm curious as hell
It'll do in the spring when it warms up. Yeah, for sure. That's a new one
I've never got the chance to drive on this
So that's cool to hear that you're you're really enjoying them
But if you guys want to set head on over to martini works filter by continental
Look at all the makes and miles if you need help picking them out
We'd be more than happy to give you some advice otherwise pick up a set get them enjoy them love them and we'll be right back
All right getting into it we have cheap cars to mod that no one thinks about
Oh, yeah, I'm excited for this. This is one of my favorite things to talk about. I hope you guys got some weird ones
I'm gonna kick her off because it leads directly from
Um what we were just talking about ice racing
I went for a ride along and I had a car surprised me that I would have never thought to modify
So I went for a ride with her friend jimmy he helps us out hangs out with early birds as all that stuff
He's always around and he used to have like a brz back in the day. I think he still has it
And that thing's gnarly but lately he's been driving an outie q5 tdi
Okay, super dope super fun. So he has a like a two inch lift on I think
Some bigger wheels bigger tires and I think he said he bought it with like 108,000 miles
And he has it up to 160,000 miles. Yeah, I'm okay
And he said because he's just driving the shit out of it
He used it as his like work commuter and he's driving around for work everywhere
But then he's like I started ice racing with it and I can't stop
I've been going every weekend and just tearing it. So I went for a ride along with him
Dude, he could rip and the thing handled phenomenon. So it's all wheel drive
You can pick these things up for stupid cheap right now. They're super affordable
And even if it has higher mileage, you don't have to care. It's a diesel
It's gonna go forever. So as long as it has it's like regular maintenance done
I'd say don't worry about the higher mileage and then there's some modifications for them
Out there like if you want to do a lift and stuff like that
But I cannot tell you how much fun it was in that car ripping around that lake. It surprised me
I never thought about this platform. I never knew much about it
And I would totally recommend if you're looking for like a daily that you can still do some fun stuff with
I think it's the the perfect option
That's a great example of one because we've known Jimmy for a long time and he had again this crazy BRZ on bags
He did all kinds of wacky stuff with that car. Yeah, I've never seen him so giddy talking about a car until this
He asked me like love with it five times to do a ride along and I was like kind of like filming and stuff
So I was like, yeah, I'm good. I'm gonna I see why he was so excited. You need to experience. Yeah, we went out there
So like what year was it? Um, I think it's like
20
Like a 2010 or something 12 2015
Around there. I think so a little bit newer. Um, and that's the other part
That's awesome is you're getting an Audi q5. It's still luxurious and stuff on the inside. It's really nice
You know comfortable leather seats and nice amenities
Uh, but then he can just rip on or enhance some fun. He was saying he put he put like
5000 miles on the car like this year
In like 20 days or something. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, he's been driving the piss out of it
He hauls a trailer with it. Like he has his dog in there all the time
He goes and beats the crap out of it on the ice. I think that's so cool. Yeah 100%
All right, Lars, what you got?
So I have I have a car that I think the whole community's kind of forgotten about
Okay, and I I looked this up right before we sat down here. You get one of these for under $7,000 now
I'm listening v8. Oh
Very real drive. Shit big
Big chrysler 300
Oh
Oh, damn a chrysler 300 VIP car. Yeah, so sick. Yeah, that would be dope. Dude. It was it's really funny
I've been watching a lot of like
Just like gaming videos lately just people going through like series of like different games and stuff and
Uh, I watched one on like the whole like midnight club series and how like back in the day like when I think it was like midnight club
three
Yeah, I would have been double like midnight club three double edition
Um, dude, like the 300 was like that is a luxury car. It's not even a muscle car
There's a luxury car and it was like a big part of that
It was dude
They were huge lars made a good point of like I think the car scene kind of forgot about them because when they came out
They were super popular. I felt like I seen them everywhere. Yeah, I remember like the top gear review
They did on them. They had them all like like dark dark out and like like a mob car and stuff
We were really fun of that
But yeah, they're cool cars and people just kind of forgot about them and like the srt8s made like what 420 some
Yeah, or something. I forgot that there's the srt version of them too
They're they're cool cars and people built them for a while and you know, they just kind of disappeared
Yeah, a big v8 for less than 7k. It's kind of hard to be
They were there was a few of them like up north and they got rotted out so bad though
Yeah, that that hurt to see and it was kind of wild to attempt you like man
It's such a nice car and then it's like
10 years go by and it's like that's a piece of shit
They're kind of like the poor man's Rolls Royce like you get that look. Yeah, big body sedan Bentley. Yeah, or Bentley. Yeah
But do you imagine you find like a Chrysler 300 barn find now?
Didn't people used to do like front end swaps on them for like a Bentley?
Wasn't there like a kit for that? I'm sure there is I swear. I've seen it or like rebadged it or something
Gels, what do you got my first one? I think I've talked about this car
On here before because I got a bit of a soft spot for him but like the Celica gts
So like the 2000 to like 2005 you can pick up actually like
Surprisingly like really clean a clean one between like five to seven thousand dollars really
It's really queen
I think like it's
I love the body lines on those cars. I think they're super cool. They got like that wedge shape to them
They're kind of boxy and angular
I think they're great autocross cars. I see a lot of people like scooping them up for like autocross
Super simple to throw some wheels on drop it down
low, I think some of like the like
I think like the later years
Came with like a body kit option for you. Yeah, essentially
So that looked really cool. So you can find one of those. I think that's really neat
And yeah, I think they're they're really cool. Obviously simple bolt-on stuff
It's just like I think it's like a 1.8 liter na four cylinder. So right up my alley
But yeah, I think the body style on those is is really cool. They are good-looking cars
What's good about those two is like they're not super good-looking when they're like completely stock
But wheels tire suspension and like some yeah, simple simple stuff
Yeah, such a like I would daily the hell out of one of those
I agree. They look so goofy when they're stuck because like I have small little wheels and they're super sunken
So when you lower it and actually get some wheels that fit it completely changes the look of those things
Super fun. I feel like they're kind of in the same category ish as like an rsx or like a hundred percent
Early gen for focus
Seeing some of those I was racing to that made me want one because those you can get really cheap
That'd be kind of fun. My next one that I have here. Let me pull it up. I forget. What did I oh, yeah
my buddy
Jay Baumgartner used to have one of these and
He's a big photographer in the area shop for stance nation and stuff
I was I looked up to him a ton when I was getting into it, but he had a early 2000s
Buick regal gs
Okay, so these look like traffic. Yeah, that's okay because it's a supercharged couch
I remember that's how he'd always refer to it. Um, so you get a supercharged six cylinder
Comfy super comfy interior literally couch status
And you get a sleeper. I think that's really fun
These things make a decent power for what they are you can get them fairly cheap
The only part that sucks is they're hard to find now. Yeah, you really got to do some looking
But to get a supercharged six cylinder for cheap and then like no one suspects
It just kind of looks like your average everyday Buick sedan. It's comfy. Yeah, and well, you know, it's a freaking ripper
But he would he did a few mods to it just some wheels subtle stuff
So it still kind of looked like a sleeper, but you'd bring it to the shows and he just kept it clean
I always thought that thing was freaking neat. Are those the ones that are basically like a crown victoria
Yeah, right, right. I mean, yeah crown Vicks obviously a v8, but kind of the same body shape
Ish. Yeah, interesting. Okay. Okay. Yeah same era
They were coming out with brown sedans in the early 2000s
But uh, yeah, I was doing some search and found a couple
But I had to do some looking to find one that there must have been pretty rare for that. Oh, okay
Yeah, this is yeah, this is what I'm thinking of. It kind of looks like a like an oldsmobile arrow almost. Yeah
Yeah
Yeah, yeah, that is okay. Okay. Cool. Yeah, I feel like everything in that era kind of looked the same for sedans
Which is got very round. Yeah, they just went so like I don't know if even safe is the right word
But like everyone was making the same sedan. Yeah, everything's just got bubbly
This is really weird. I got another one. Yeah, so
The 128i
Oh
And I see 28i specifically because everybody talks about you know that the twin turbo six under all that stuff
And the 35i series is great right 335 135 and everything great cars. I love I had what two three of them
Love them. I will on another one. However
The 128i does not get the respect it deserves. Um, they're dirt cheap like they're half the price of a 135i nowadays
Um, there you can get them all in manual, right? They're all rear wheel drive. Okay, super light
Yeah, I read somewhere. They have like the same like power to weight ratio as an e36 m3
And we know how those are being gassed up right now. Right. They're jumping in value at the moment
Is that the
Was it like the n 52? Is that what's in my car exactly mentions what you have?
Yeah, so like 230 horsepower dead, you know, super reliable except, you know, a couple issues here
That's fun. Hell, yeah, nothing crazy. Again, manual transmission. They last forever super fuel efficient. Um, I think that'd be a great
What what are those going for like right now?
Um, last I looked I used to see them for like five or six thousand
Holy shit and and I was looking and I was looking at like junk ones basically to be fair because I was going to build it into
My first, you know, track car like each track car
Um, they they're getting really cheap
Because again, people are just kind of forgetting about them. Yeah, that'd be a fun ice racing car
all I can think of women
She got jose. All right. Uh, my second one is uh, again, kind of a soft spot here
Uh, the third gen mits b-shee clips. I feel like this car got really
Kind of like you're coming off of the iconic second gen eclipse
that is
undoubtedly the best generation of the mits b-shee clips
um into
The third gen they drop the whole diamond star motors. You drop the turbo chargers. You drop the all-wheel drive
You dropped everything that made that car really fucking cool kind of out of it
Um, and a lot of people hated that but yes
Understandably so where are you going with this?
I think I think over time that body style kind of grew. I mean, it's just like that that that's very y2k
It's nostalgic for me a thousand nostalgic hundred percent. Um, but dude these cars are stupid fucking cheap
Like you're three grand four grand
Um all day long and they are littered everywhere. You get the four cylinder option. You get the v6 option two
Um, obviously like manual and stuff front wheel drive, but I think
You can have a good time with these cars. I remember what completely changed my mind
Uh, was that a just a random car show? I think in like anigo or something one year
and
there was this
Really clean looking third gen eclipse like it was lowered a little bit
But it had some like meaty tires on it. I was like, what the hell and I walked over and the guy had like
Fucking crazy built like v6 in it and it had huge tank of nitrous attached to it
Had like kind of like a half cage and like it was a drag setup like third gen eclipse. I'm like, that's so sick
Um wheel fitment for these cars fucking sucks. I will say that they have some big old fender arches
That are really hard to fill out with like 18s and like 19s look too bad. It's like a weird balance that you got to find
Uh, but it can be done. I like I'd like to see it more
I like I said the the body styles really grown on me throughout the years
I think they're just stupid cheap right now and it they're they're fun
Yeah, 100% just not that long ago people were still building these like I remember when I joined like the wisconsin car group
Um, kind of like car community. There was an era where people were modding them a ton
Yeah, I remember that that orange that they launched with was a beautiful color and like in in bright sunshine
We're thinking of the fourth gen the really bubbly one. Am I thinking of the wrong one entirely?
I don't think third gen hit an orange. No, uh, the third gen was the one with like the slits on the side of the doors
I was thinking about it. Yeah, the fourth gen's got really fucking weird
Give me a few years on those. A lot of people were modifying those too, though
Yep, but that's kind of died. I remember a couple couple ones that I specifically remember from wisconsin the people fight. Yeah
People do crazy stuff with those of 4g 63 swap them all will drive swap them. I've seen some gnarly builds on those
Um, I have another one this one. I'd say if you know me, you know what I like this one's a little more predictable
But I got to say it because
I haven't bought one yet. So someone's got to do it for me. Uh dodge caliber srt4
I always I'd say like once every couple weeks
I'll go on marketplace and just search to see if a clean one pops up
But these are so cheap. It's insane
Like you can get them way cheaper than the neons
And I don't know if they're just less desirable because they look like a mini like dodge caravan or what I think they looked
I love hatchbacks and stuff and uh, you get the srt4 platform
Which is loud obnoxious a million billion mods you can do to it
Um, and then you get the functionality of a hatchback. I think they look incredible and every once in a while too
I think the older generations
Pick these up sometimes because you you'll see a ton of them that are just destroyed
And absolutely have been ran through but then you'll see one with 40,000 miles bone stock
and
Hackably could just get that and it'll be like
7k for that one for like the super crazy clean one
I imagine that'd be so fun because like in my head when you say that I'm just picturing like, you know
A very practical like daily driving car, right? But then
Assuming a lot of the same parts fit on this the same engine everything. Yeah
Just like rowing gears making all the goofy noises and stuff
Yeah, it's like on the other store just for no reason 100% so fun
You get all the turbocharged noises and srt's are just rowdy in general and they still have like
Cool seats and stuff the steering wheels do I think it might be the same steering wheel as the van
The interior is nothing to like write home about but it's they never got the interior right now. I've struggled bad
Oh with that, but I mean it's like
It was like the focus st before the focus st came out and to see some of these
You know if you want to get a project and work on it you can get one for
3k if you want, you know
It's gonna have a little bit more miles and you're probably gonna have to fix a few things on it from some 16 year old
That did some mods, but
It's just crazy what you can pick them up for and like I said keep an eye out
I tried before I bought my focus st
I put an offer in on one. It was like eight grand. It was in arizona one owner
Had like 20,000 miles on it. It was absolutely insane. So I called the dealership. I'm like, I'll take it
I just got to figure out like a flight situation. I'm gonna come pick it up. Like it just sold
So that was almost an era before I got my focus st
I kind of change the trajectory of your life. I probably wouldn't be in a forerunner right now. I'd be in a dodged caravan
I have another one. Okay. I'm ready. So this this is a little more generic
However, so we went to florida over christmas a new year's and to get there we took our dog
So I didn't want to drive in the m5s and have tires on it yet and the g86 is too small
We rented a minivan
And I am now convinced minivans are actually the best vehicle
And I think go on I think there's a place for minivans in shows
Now we've seen some of the wacky ones like the japanese imported ones like the japanese ones are awesome like the the honda
I don't know any of them are called to be honest, but this this like random christler
What is it a pacifica was so nice. Yeah, like I'm like I don't understand and maybe maybe
Dude vans have become like luxury. They're like apartments. Yeah, so I guess I'm waiting to see
Some of like the last-generation ones. I know minivans are dirt cheap
So I'm waiting to see somebody event at some point is gonna like just do a full like vip interior on them, right?
Like I'd say like the odyssey's and stuff have definitely you know, it's crazy. They're
Like crazy and you can get used ones for for dirt. The great thing about these is they last forever, right?
They're all made to be beat up by by kids and stuff and so on like they have so much ruin back
So they can be practical and again if you want to build like an interior thing or you know lower it wheels on it
Whatever like I don't think it would take much to make one into a show
No, you can they've been doing in japan for years
The suspension stuff is really the only weird thing you have to figure out because it gets a little weird
But yeah like over there it's like if you get one of the raised catalogs or working catalogs
They have huge van sections in there because it's so big in japan
To modify it because we went and there were vans fucking everywhere everywhere and they're super nice
So everything japan does we get it like five years later. So it'll probably I mean they've been doing it longer in that
But I think it will eventually
Catch on here because it's just so popular and there's companies out there making tons of modifications and stuff for them
Again, all of it's all of it's relatively cheap from from what I've seen the cars are cheap. It's a fun daily
I can see it
All right, I got a wild one for you. Okay. I'm ready. You guys ever heard of the mazda mx3
Not the mx5 mx3. No
This car is a fucking trip dude. It is not
The funnest looking car
I will say I got I got I can pull up a picture for you
Um, they are goofy looking. They're a little they're like a little hatchback
um
It kind of looks like we're made in the 90s
And these things are a fucking trip
So the reason I know about this car is because I worked a summer job once at like a manufacturing place
And I was like, what the hell is it? It had like mazda badges. I was like, what the fuck is that?
And he's like, oh, it's an mx3. So you never see him. I'm like, yeah, I've never seen that car before in my life
What the hell is it? This thing has a 1.8 liter v6 engine. What?
And it slows christmas
I think it does. I was watching like a motor trend like motor week video on it
Like in 1.8
leader v6 had like a zero to 60 time of like
8.7 seconds and it did a quarter mile and like 16 seconds at a top speed of like 83 miles an hour
So it's a pooch, but like I I want to see I want to see someone mod one of these and that's why it's on my list
This one this is like riced out like sick like there's so weird
I say riced out lately, but it's because that looks kind of cool
It kind of from the front and if you're looking at from the front, it almost looks like a
Like a Ford
Taurus or Monte Carlo coupe. Yeah, and it's got like a weird like window wing thing on it on the bed
Dude, they're weird cars. What a wacky engine a 1.8 leader. I wonder what that sounds like if you put like a nice exhaust
I need to know that's why that's why I put on my list. I'm like
They're stupid cheap like like if you can find it, they're probably not in the best condition honestly
Um, but you can there was a four cylinder option too
I believe so the the six cylinder ones are probably a little harder to come by
But those are probably the ones that are nicer shape
Yeah, because if people knew what and these are available in the us. Yep. They're available. I don't I feel like I've never seen one
Yeah, it was like the smallest displacement v6 available in the us. It's like formula one stuff. Yeah, it's wild
That's why I'm like is there potential for that engine for something like could you just boost the shit out of it?
I don't know like even if it just sounds good. Like I don't rev to like
Eight thousand be sick. That'd be cool. Do you should be a little eco tech engine in it or something?
Be rowdy, you know a little freaking turbo four cylinder in there. I bet you that thing would rev
I don't know. I just that that car came to mind when we were coming up. We were talking about the the topics right here
I was like, dude, I don't think I've ever seen
one of these
Outside of that one but like ever like modified or anything like so someone please do that or if you have one
Editor build threat. Yeah, let us see it. We'll share sure because I'm interested to see there's a few I sent up to you gels
Like modded ones and they look so
Late 90s early 2000s. I love it. It's such a weird platform and almost
It almost looks like
An american designed it. Yeah, you know because you think of like all like the 90s cars from like these japanese manufacturers
Like that was the same time as the f dr
Seven was coming out like what the hell was going on there?
Yeah, right. It could not have been the same person. No
No, gels. I don't know how you manage to do it, but you picked three vehicles that were not boosted. Hell. Yeah
Even in your wildest dreams
You just avoid turbo chargers super chargers anything with forced induction just
Naturally aspirated some of the slowest goddamn cars out there, too
Dude has a type and he knows that's fine, which leads us to our next sponsor. You know what my type is fortune auto, baby
I absolutely love their suspension. They have the best coilovers and they've been
Getting into some overland stuff too. So if you guys are interested make sure to check that out
They're always up to something and they're coming out with new stuff
Which is excited to see but if you head on over to martini works and check out fortune auto 500s are really popular
Otherwise we see the the track rats pick up the five tens
Those are super popular too
But if you have a daily driver that maybe you do some spirited driving
Maybe you do a little bit out across on the weekends or you just daily drive and that's it
Fortune out 500s great option. They're upgradeable. You can get swift springs if you'd like you can upgrade them down the road too
And have them like built into five tens
So that's a really cool thing and too you can send in your fortune autos and they'll completely rebuild them
So if you have them for years you can send them in they'll rebuild them right back to new and send them back to you
Which is really cool and they're all hand assembled put together in virginia
We got to see it and uh, those guys care about what they do and they make
Just an amazing product, which is why we love to have them as a sponsor in the martini works podcast
If you guys are interested in picking up a set reach out let us know if you need any help and we'll see you in the next segment
I
Learned so you know a couple a couple months ago years ago whenever this was now
BMW was getting a lot of flak for subscription services, right? Yes. I remember them so much so that they cancelled the thing
Thank the lord that they did. Yeah, but the the joke has kind of persisted
Oh, right. So, you know who does have for subscription starting february 14th
tesla
Dude a hundred dollars a month bucks a year damn dude. Hell. No. I'll drive myself for that much. Yeah
That's crazy. That is so insane hate this subscription culture. Everything
Is subscription based now? Yeah for what the
Again, this was the whole argument with the BMW thing, right? It's like oh, you're paying for heated seats
Yeah, it's like why do I have to pay for something that's already
Physically included with the car. I remember it's like these cars are already programmed to do this
They've been doing it for everything to do it just to put a paywall behind it. Yeah, I remember when I got my supra
I remember there was rumors or it was going to happen that the wireless apple carplay was going to become a subscription
Feature and I was like if that happens that is the dumbest shit ever
But it never went through so i'm assuming that was that like BMW like they got so much negative feedback that it
Well, I hope there's a ton of negative feedback for tesla too because that's horrible and that's so expensive
the crazy thing is so I was looking into this earlier and
It's wild to me but people are like people are defending this somehow
So for context the the one I love spending more money. Yeah
The one time charge usually when you buy one of these cars, right? It's like eight thousand dollars to have the full self driving stuff
So yes, right? You'd have to keep the car for eight years
You know for for the subscription to be more expensive than this
So so I can kind of sort of see that right if you keep the car for four years
You're technically sort of saving money on it
However, it's another one of those things just like buying digital video games or something right where you're again
No longer owning what you paid for what you expect
If i'm buying a tesla and i'm balling out to get the self driving one
Like I expect to be able to self drive that and when I buy a used tesla
I also expect that because yeah, it has again has all the cameras all the bells and whistles are already part of the car
It's capable of doing it. You're just locking it down to squeeze me for more money
Like the rest of the car's life. Yeah, that's a hundred dollars a month is insane here. Imagine this you're out yourself driving
Your debit card expired
And the payment doesn't go through do you think it stops on the spot? Yes while you're driving
100 as soon as that payment fails. It's done
It throws you into the wall
Apparently the whole thing is just for for stock prices. They're trying to raise their like the annual income and stuff
Dude a different way. Don't package. It's so messed up sick of being
Nickeled and dimed on every damn thing I do
The point of electric cars was to save money on like the the ramp
Well, one of the points was to save money on the random expenses monthly of having a car
Oil changes. Yeah. Yeah, how you just write back to do the same thing now you pay for the electrical stuff
Yeah, jeez
Of auto manufacturers. I got hit with an article here that I think raises some good discussion
One chinese automaker could begin manufacturing vehicles in the united states in the relatively near future. Okay. Um
So this is uh, I
Fuck I don't know how to pronounce this x i a o m i
Is x i o m i
That's something I don't know, but there's an image of the car. It looks nice. It looks like a nice vehicle
Um, I mean and I think we've always have this kind of perceived thing from like chinese
It's cheap, right? It's like always been drilled into our heads. It's a copy of some right, right?
So I feel like there's going to be negative feedback about it right away
But when you think about it like everything everything is made in china
So could this actually be good or not? And I know it's it's definitely on the horizons because we've already seen a lot of chinese
Motorcycles say start hitting the scene with like a cf moto has become really huge. Yeah
cf motos are chinese and um, what's interesting too is they look wild
I remember the first time I stepped into a showroom and it was at like I can't remember if it's a yamaha dealer
Some dealer and they had someone I was like, whoa, what is this like this thing looks insane
And then it was a cf moto and I never heard of it. So I looked into him a little bit
It's like, oh, it's a chinese motorcycle and I'm starting to see people ride them around town and stuff and they're like
On the cheaper and yes compared to everything else. Yeah a hundred percent
um
So immediately my mind went to it's oh, it's cheap. It was made in china chinese cheap product
But I don't know maybe they are good and I think I need to take a step back and kind of educate myself more about them
I'd love to yeah, I think I think the same thing too because it's like you think about it's like obviously there has to be
Chinese auto manufacturers
So so there are and there is there has to be and it's like
But I know nothing no about like they have been so gate kept
From even like being talked about in the united states
I think that's exactly what it is though. So at the when we're just at the detail in a 24 hour race
One of the people in our group was a gentleman that reviews cars in the uk. Yeah, and this topic came up
We were talking about chinese cars and he mentioned that they're already
Dominating in europe like they're absolutely really a huge chunk of market share
Interesting and I realized that they're just not coming. I was thinking about this more
They're just not coming to america yet because they're being gate kept and it's like why or how right?
How could these people possibly do this and started realizing that uh one of the biggest examples of this was
the
I also don't remember the name. I can't pronounce them well
We got to learn that stuff but the one of the big leading manufacturers from china debuted a new electric vehicle at the consumer electronics show
Not at any american car show. They're probably just completely being locked out. I don't know this for a fact
But I mean I could never heard of i'm checking almost care
Tariffs and stuff would be insane on tariffs. Just china in general has been like seems like the target for anything import wise
Uh, you know, we have our own manufacturers that you know, we're
Are big like you have you have ford. You have chrysler. You have all these like, you know
Chevy all these big manufacturers here. Um, that you know should rightfully like support and stuff like that
It's our it's our own stuff, but it's like
Almost shunned if you even consider
Um buying something like so sorry large you go ahead. Oh, sorry
The discussion ended up turning into like what is the car culture like in europe and uk specifically compared to here
Because i'm very interested in what that's like in germany, for example, right where I grew up
first part of my life
And one of the things he mentioned is that the the car culture is alive in britain specifically
But it's very much the older generation right keep and all they want are older cars
The vintage cars and stuff
It's like well now is the time for a cheaper manufacturer to get into the market step in the the younger kids
You know the cars aren't cool anymore to a lot of these people like they are to us
So, you know, why wouldn't they buy something that's cheap?
Oh, they don't care about what it sounds or what the the legacy of that brand is or where they race
They just want something to get it's a tool for a lot of people. Yeah
Yeah, um, but what's interesting about that and maybe this is the loophole and why it's starting to be talked about
Is because
It would be in a joint venture with ford
Ford is working with them to bring them here
And it this article too. It's from car and driver. It's saying that
Ford has met with multiple
Chinese auto manufacturer brands and has been exploring that because they really like what they're doing with the evs
It would make sense. I can't
Does ford have any heavy hitter evs right now? I guess the boggy is the closest thing
So they're probably looking to expand, you know, I think these manufacturers a lot of them are
Kind of panicking about that and they've resorted back to like
Oh, well, just keep doing the gas stuff, which i'm fine with
But I think a lot of them know that the future is that and they're behind
Yeah, they're behind
I feel like it's almost something it's like if they're so heavily focused on the ev stuff over there
And they have it figured out and if we're honestly getting majority of our ev stuff over there
Anyway, it's like they probably have it better figured out right now. It's like, okay partner with them
Have them build all the evs
Partner with them or whatever. Oh, yeah, they will handle the ev line and we can keep focusing on
Yeah, it's a win-win for everybody because if they're not allowed to be sold here
There's no chance or they're just going to get marked up a ton through tariffs or whatever
Now they have this loophole where it's like, oh, we got to put a blue oval on it
And we still get paid, you know fords paying them the big bucks to do this and they're getting the tech
It's like everyone kind of wins in that situation gets expand
So it'll be interesting to see and they need to come to america right like to make any like the big money
Is ever challenged for like that global right because we forget like the car culture is huge in america because everybody's got a car
Here it's not normal in no, it's public transport like pretty much everywhere else like when we're in japan
It's like the train systems are massive. That's what people use even buses too. Yeah, I think you know think about it's like
We all have multiple cars
Fortunate enough that it's like, you know, we were up to like fucking five cars at one point for two of us
It's like, holy shit, man
I never thought about how that would seem to like someone over
I know they have like personal cars and stuff too
But it's like, yeah, some of us had some points like I had three vehicles to myself at one point. That's ridiculous like we had
frickin
five vehicles and then
Two motorcycles like so many modes of transportation plus I I don't know
I think you know, even if they came over and it's whatever I think competition's good regardless
I think competition pushes innovation
Um, so even if it's like they came over and I have no interest in getting one whatsoever
I hope it drives the competition to put a little bit more into what they're doing
It's the thing is it's like it almost seems like they don't want
Competition because it's gonna cause them to spend more money. It's like shit. We have to
Make new stuff. We can't just keep charging the same amount of shit for for the same stuff recycled over and over again
And ultimately we know that a lot of the brands we used to associate as as cheap or you know
Lessor than other brands that I've now grown up and they make some very good stuff
Yeah, 100% eventually these chinese companies will make something that we all like
It's just a matter of time if they haven't already. We just don't know about it. Yeah, absolutely
Well gels when we were at, uh, tokyo autoslan
Did you see anything there that you thought would be?
kind of new and is moving towards
2026 anything for the car culture or brands
That you've seen there
Man, I'm trying to think back. I'm just trying to think of anything, you know in ev news. I don't want to end on ev
You know, it's wild because it's like
We talked about we talk about trends a lot, especially if like ended me getting the ear
You know talk about what do we expect to see? What are we, you know, think it's gonna become big and mum die out
It's like the last few years, you know, we've always said like, okay
The wide body stuff is you know, I'm gonna die out. I think the trend is over dude going to japan
I am 100 convinced otherwise that it is only just getting more and more
Crazy, but instead of like they're going nose to rear is shorter and then everything else. Yeah
it's like
But instead of like just your simple like over fenders. It's like these are full
Like yeah actual true
Wide body kits like it this is completely transformed the entire look of the liberty walk liberty walk is is a great example
That's like you look at that the super silhouette 180 sx and it's like dude
That looks like a goddamn like Porsche
Like with the slant nose and everything and it's like the wing and the big squared off like arch fenders doesn't look like a 180
No, it doesn't and it's like
Holy shit, man. It's like that's super dope. But it's also like it's still it's still a wide body car
Like that is not a stock body car
even the
BRZ or a for us whatever well not enough for us over there
The 86 over there that they put the the kit on I forget the name of the kit with the pop-up headlights
Yep, that was a wide body too was yeah, they had the had the fender arches on it and stuff and yeah, it's uh
I don't think I don't think that's going anywhere anytime soon. Yeah, I I have one more
I have a rumor I heard so I don't know if this is confirmed news
Okay, take it with a grain of salt take it with a grain of salt
I'm gonna be a fanboy here for a second. Okay, you guys you guys know I'm a proud member of the m community
Oh, really? And we've won
The german power race against Mercedes out. He's already out of it
I officially beat AMG
Damn what I heard was, you know, we all know AMG has had the big fire-breathing v8
Right, and then they went to these little puny four cylinders that nobody likes
And apparently they're making it they're working on a deal with BMW to adopt BMW powertrains for the AMG platform
No, shit. They're like we give up. If that doesn't mean PMW won, I don't know what does
Yeah, honestly. Yeah, I'd say that's also that's pretty cut and drag. Well, the
Mercedes community have the backlash that the Toyota community gave
Probably cooperating you think it almost be worse because it's like direct rival
BMW just making shit for everyone. Yeah, everyone's like give me a piece of that. Give me a piece of that
It's such it's it's a shame because AMG had such a cool history with those v8s supercharged and turbocharged
Up to v12s in the the old s AMGs and stuff. So it's kind of a shame. Honestly, like again, sbmw guy
I I find it a shame that that brand is kind of
Not what it was
But I do think it's it's it's better that they adopt this versus sticking with these ridiculous little four cylinders
It's just not fun. You know Mercedes is like a name. I've just forgotten about yeah, except for their older stuff
The older stuff. Yeah, it walks and you can get that that should have it's kind of a disgrace
We didn't have any Mercedes on our list of cheap cars the mod because a lot of those you can get for really affordable
And I know if Sean burgers listen as he's punching the air right now that we didn't that dude has a
Of old Mercedes and like ours are saying dude. You can get 12 cylinders
eight cylinders eight cylinders
Frickin twin turbo like they make the most insane gnarly cars and then it's like 10k
Oh
10% of the msrp never buy a Mercedes new never ever I don't care how rich you are don't buy a Mercedes
Someone needs to yes, I need to be doesn't need to be us listen to this podcast
We're smarter. We'll buy it with 20,000 miles on exactly for a third of the cost
And then as soon as it has maintenance, then you sell it and get a different one literally
That is a tactic. Well, thank you guys so much for listening. I last sponsored my team works podcast is when we got all over here
Yeah, brand new one
Baby, uh, we have moteggi all over the website so you can check it out
They've really been killing it with the finishes in a super popular wheel. I think this here will be the battle
the
mb battle or
Yeah, not mb battle not mb battle moteggy moteggy battle which is also mb. It gets really weird
We did research on this one because it was so confusing
But they like bought the right actually yeah to make that that is the battle that is the wheel you think it is
Yeah, it's just not under that name anymore. So go check it out because the battle is dope
I used to have battles on my evo 10 back in the day and the finishes that they have are just
Out of the park there. They're wild. They look really cool
And uh moteggi's making a bunch of really nice stuff and it's affordable which is nice too a lot of these wheels
Are going to be cheaper than the competition, but uh, they're still trying true and they're gonna do
They have a lot of stuff in their flow form lineup now to uh the battle six which is like one of their newer wheels
And a ton of the other stuff anyway three spoke here
Three spoke is sick. Absolutely killer. I think we're gonna be throwing those on one of our builds here very secret secret only podcast gets
Yep, and i'm really excited to see that on that bit because I think and we're gonna be using it abusing you know, they're not just for
Show we're gonna be putting these through their paces for sure. So yeah, they have some really cool stuff
And I've really been uh loving what i'm seeing come out of their
Wheelhouse lately. Yeah, so go on over to martin works check out some moteggis
And thank you guys so much for listening to the podcast. Thanks lars for hopping in and thanks for having me
It was the great discussion about naturally aspirated vehicles. I always got your back on that. Yeah, thank you
And uh, we'll talk to you guys later. Have a great weekend
