LIVE
Hello, hello, hello, and welcome back to the studio here for Q&A Thursday, where we were on
a couple weeks hiatus, but we're happy to see you again, and hopefully you feel the same
about us, Anthony. Welcome to the program. I'm Dane Hennan, your host, fellow co-host, Anthony
Fisher. Dane, thanks for having me. You know, happy Thursday, happy Friday, Eve. It is one
of those moments that we've been looking forward to for the last few weeks here. People answer
your detailing questions, right? That's what it's for. And ideally go off on tangents
that literally don't make any sense or have to do a detailing, and we do that for
most of the show. It's pretty fun, you know? We want to make sure that folks
who come here regularly feel welcome, but we do want to make it feel like a place that
new people can show up and ask their questions to, so I don't want to derail it too hard.
Sometimes I might have to curb it a little bit. It's true, and we brought up a good
topic today for our title, and it comes to detailing black cars, right? Yeah, black
paint and Honda black is famous for being a little bit tricky, and you know a thing
or two about Hondas. In fact, you have a black Honda. That's true. So what we
had to do, though, is actually bring in a specialist here who specializes in black
paint, and that just happens to be Mr. Carson Black. It's right in the name. Thank
you for having me yet again. I feel like I'm just the resident car washer at this
point. Well, you're working up to it. You're a professional car, so you're a professional,
and we're already certified, you know? So thanks for joining us today. Carson,
what are we doing today? Yeah, so using my two favorite brands currently, I'm
using a little bit of ADS products and a little bit of G-Technic products. So yeah,
we're going to have some fun times. This car does have quite a bit of water spots,
so we're going to highlight some two products from G-Technic that really
haven't been used quite a bit in a little bit. So we've got ceramic G-Wash
and then the W9, which of course is there like a sledge hammer, their
water spot remover. If the water spots don't come off with W9, then
you're going to have to polish it. So we're going to use that today and then ceramic
G-Wash. So nice. Nice, Carson. Awesome. Looking forward to it. We're excited about
this. Absolutely. Anyway, I think we have some general housekeeping to catch up
on. It's been a couple weeks. Right? A couple weeks. So let's catch up. So we
are currently in mid-October right now, which means that we're just a few
weeks away from SEMA 2025. Yeah, that's right around the corner. Which
we're extremely excited about. So will we be at SEMA? Yes, we will. We will be in
booth 51455. 155. That's what I said. 51455. Okay. And we will be there with
actually a pretty good-sized team. So myself as well as Dane Hennan here
will actually be joining us. I'll be there this time. It's been a year
since I was there. Carson Black will actually be joining us as well.
First time at SEMA ever. I know he's looking forward to it. We also will have
Lucas from Customer Service, which is going to be sweet. We will also have the
Josh's. Josh Brodell and Josh Petro. We will also have John Green. And then I
believe there will also be some special guests. Your parents, right? Will actually
be there for a little while as well. So I think that's everyone. That's a good
run-up. I think that's pretty much everybody who's going to be doing
talking, walking around the booth, that kind of thing. So if you are in the area,
if you attend SEMA, please don't be a stranger. Come by. Say hi. Yeah, so it'll be
a good time. So two weeks left until that happens. We'll be leaving here on
Sunday night. We're going to be staying probably, I think, at Resorts World
is where we're staying at this year. I think that's the move. And that's
kind of been our go-to spot. It's super cool. It's a great place. Oh, yeah.
And good vibes all around, which is awesome. And it's just kind of easy to
get to and from the convention center because we just take the Tesla tunnels
and we're able to just basically get dropped off right there at the front
door. So easy. Really, really cool. Looking forward to that week. A lot of
standing, a lot of walking, and a lot of talking. So also want to give a
special shout out to our friends over at TRC Europe, right? Come to Europe.
Because Patrick will be coming along with Patrick's son. And what was his
name? We had an intern name for him and from the Netherlands, Stajer. It was.
So yeah, so he is, right now I'm trying to think of freaking Stajer's real name.
I'm just going to let you struggle on that one.
Quintin, oh my gosh. I was like, I was about to say like, I don't know what I was.
Oh, I don't know what I was going to say. Quintin, so Quintin will be
there. And what's awesome is that Patrick is going to be bringing us
the Jello Revoice tablets. Oh, thank goodness.
So five bottles of Jello Revoice. Those are so expensive. I don't know if it's just
the cost to like transport in the U.S. or something, but anywhere I've ever seen
them listed here in the U.S., they are priced like gold.
So Jello Revoice, I don't know what it is, honestly. They're different.
It's like a German, like kind of like a cough drop, but for your throat.
It's for like singing and talking a bunch of different stuff.
It basically like foams up in your mouth and then you just kind of like suck on it.
And then it like completely, like not just like numbs your throat, but also just makes it just feel
good. I believe they are medicated with something. It goes well beyond just your average Ricola
or anything like that. This is like way next level. It was like $30 a tube in the U.S.
Fisherman's Friend is a classic that we used to use to try and keep our voices going,
but the reality of this goes well beyond anything Fisherman's Friend is capable of.
Can go in the trash because Jello Revoice has taken over, but unfortunately there's not
really a U.S. Distributor of it. So basically we have to order it or try to get it from overseas.
And so Patrick's going to be bringing us some. So that's going to be awesome.
We'll be able to be talking and not lose our voice throughout the week, which is great.
Now on top of that, so we'll have Cima coming up here really soon, but before that,
this is a special time of year. We love Halloween here at the Rad Company.
I think we do a pretty good job of celebrating it. And we do a good job of representing it.
So here very soon, just a few days, the Rad Company's Halloween sale will be
underway. It will be starting. And let me tell you it is a killer sale. It's going to be good.
We've shot a lot of media for it that you guys are going to hopefully love and be able to see
in ads, but we all started going to have some very special limited edition product, right?
That's going to be available. But I do want to show you something pretty cool. I'll show
you a quick teaser of this. Please do. Also limited edition. We have...
You got to talk into the mic, man. Wrong chess piece. The Rad Company. This is a slasher edition
t-shirt. Check this out. So bam, bam, bam. Here he goes. Full reveal. Love that. Bad ass.
Super, super sick. Super cool. So yeah, pause that screen so you can kind of get a good reading
on it. But these shirts will be available again just in a few days along with some mysterious,
you know, some mysterious things. Maybe they're kits of some sort. And maybe a limited
edition something is in one of these kits. I'm not really sure. Needless to say,
looking forward to it. It's going to be freaking awesome. Super, super cool. So
Halloween and then we're pretty much rolling right into SEMA right after that.
And I don't want to... How do I say this? I don't want to build up too much hype. But we are
going to be doing a unveiling, a reveal at SEMA as of right now. This is something that's
been in the pipeline for a long time. Because you guys are always asking,
what projects are you working on? What like stuff do we not know about
that we should be asking about? Well, part of the fun is not telling you until we actually
have something to show for it. And as of right now, how it's sitting right now,
we will have something to show for it. So SEMA should be a pretty killer ear for us
in terms of something new. And yeah, I'm looking forward to... Yeah,
looking forward to showing you guys. So there will probably be some media content on it.
There will probably be some other stuff that will be happening. There's actually
a couple of different big things happening at SEMA for us that we're looking forward to.
But yeah, basically just stay tuned. I think you guys are going to be extremely excited about
all this stuff. Also, too, just a reminder, Mitt on a Stick Pro Plus in Rag Company Gray
is now available at theragcompany.com. And Carson used this in the last Q&A.
It's freaking awesome. Probably the best $80 you will spend on a detailing related product.
It's high quality. I know some people look and be like,
are you just going to sit and say, no, it is built in a way that reflects the quality.
So I, honestly, man, I'm just, I'm not going to detail. I'm not going to wash my
truck anymore without it. I actually won't wash my truck without it because it saves me
so much time knocking out the roof, the hood, the windshield and all that stuff.
It's a total game changer. It's great for your back. It's great for just general ergonomics.
And once you make a process using the Mitt on a Stick,
along with maybe some of your favorite cycling wash pads or wash mitts,
it just becomes like, it becomes second nature, right? You just don't even think about it.
You just begin using it. And so for people that have asked though,
are there going to be replacement mitt heads, wash mitts? And the answer is yes.
We are currently working on those right now. And we will be hopefully, we'll be stocking those
within the upcoming months, the next two months or so. The mitt that's on there is extremely durable
and will last you, I would probably estimate 100 plus washes. There's no reason why that mitt
would ever fall apart or anything like that. It's very, very durable. So what I would say
is use it, take care of it. In the meantime, if you do have to do a reorder and you want
to get some more of them, you can actually just order them from Auto Fiber from our friends over
at Mitt on a Stick. They do have just replacement heads. They just may not be in the black and
white. They'll probably be in like a blue and white as well as a blue and white or red and white
is what they're in right now. But we will have the black and white version coming from Korea,
obviously. And it goes back to the homepage. I believe it plays like a video clip of it
in action. So you can take a quick peek at that, just where it's running. There you go.
It's freaking awesome. And maybe it maybe, I don't know if Carson's gonna, I don't think he's
going to have to pull one out for today's wash. This car's a lot smaller. 80 bucks. It's
worth every penny. I would buy it again and again. If the one that we had here broke tomorrow,
the one I had at home broke, I would buy another one because just that's how useful
is for me. So no question. Pick it up. All right. That is it for housekeeping. I'm sure
there'll probably be some more stuff that comes along the way. But let's get some questions
answered. All right. We got a few things here. They got me this protein coffee thing. I think
it's delicious. 130 calories, 30 grams of protein. Do some macros. 60 grams or 60 milligrams
of caffeine, not 60 grams, 60 grams of caffeine. All right. Little tester. Yeah. That is delicious.
Yeah. Costco. Costco. What's the price? What are like 18 for like what? How many do you get?
Gosh, it came with like, was it 12 or 14, something like that? There are a few in there.
Pretty good. It's real good. That is delicious. I get those protein shakes where they're like
coffee flavored and maybe they have a little caffeine, but this is actually like straight up
coffee rather than being a coffee flavored protein shake. It's actually a little different,
but they still put the protein in. Anyway, we're not here to sell protein shakes.
We have no affiliation with this whatsoever. Joyburst protein coffee. Get it out of your
local Costco or Sam's Club. It was delicious. All right. Moving along, let's get some
comments up on the board. Dino is starting us off. Welcome, Dino. Happy to have you here. Hey,
hey, what's up, you awesome people. Thank you, Dino. And it's great to see you. Then we've got
first from Puerto Rico. You know, I'm better tell you need to love them. Hello, TRC team.
Moving along. We have more. First from Puerto Rico, five, six, eight.
Wait a second. Is that an imposter? I don't know what that is. Okay.
Is it always been five, six? I don't remember the five, six, eight.
That feels like it might be an imposter, then. We have Dan. Dan Cloween. This is good afternoon
all. What's going on, man? Welcome. Welcome. Dan, the man with the plan.
Mac Bergson. What's he saying? Good to get back in the swing of things. Welcome back,
TRC. Love to start my Thursdays off with this show. Mac, thank you for joining us.
Excited to have you here. Yes. Then happy Thursday. All right. Neil White. Oh,
you know what? It's showing their usernames rather than their actual presentation names.
That's what's going on. It's using their actual handle instead. That's interesting.
I don't know why it's doing that. But moving on. We know this is Neil White.
So, hey, TRC, how was your time in Helen? That's Georgia. Did you ride the mountain
coaster? Helen is a really weird place, but also fun. Helen, it reminded me a lot of
a place called Leavenworth. If you've been to Washington and you're familiar at all
with the Snoqualmie Pass area, you probably have heard of Leavenworth, Bavarian town nestled in
the mountains. It feels like legit in a fun kind of way. It's a little hokey, but it is fun. Bavarian,
or as you call it, Bavarian. But yeah, no, just fun, silly little Germantownie kind of thing. But
Helen, I did not know this about Helen. When we rolled into Helen, I thought it was just
going to be a little mountain town. I didn't know anything about it. So when we rolled up,
and I'm looking around going, wait a second, this feels like Leavenworth. And then I saw how
big it was. It was like Leavenworth on steroids. It was like, Leavenworth is like one day of the
week. This was the whole week. It was just stretched out as far as the eye could see.
And you were loving it. I was freaking obsessed, honestly. You can call it goofy. You can call
it weird, whatever it is. Matt, Matt's not a fan. Like Matt's very like, you know, like,
he's like, oh, it's like, I hate themed places. And I go, well, unlike you, Matt, I love
themed places. They're like my favorite thing. And so Helen is amazing. Like, I don't know why he
didn't talk that up in more videos. Like, if you were to say, hey, you get to come hang out at this
cool house, but also the town is like really like, like unique and fun. And we just happened to go
during Oktoberfest, right? Yeah, we happen to be there like the best time, the best time. The
leaves are changing. It's everybody's wearing leader hose in. And I was like, Oh my gosh,
this is freaking awesome. Beer gardens everywhere. We did not ride the mountain coaster. No, we did
see it though, because the place we went last day for a little food and stuff before we headed out
the evening, we did eat right next to it. So we could see it in action. So we we went all around
the town that we actually had a full town day in Helen where we did some shopping, went to the
toy store, got some toys for my daughter. We went to we got funnel cakes we did. Oh my
gosh, we went to all we wanted to a couple different like weird shops and all sorts of stuff.
And you're right when you call it weird though, there is like a strange energy to the place. Yeah,
I can't quite put my finger on it, but it's like there's like a sinister underbelly to it.
There's something, something just a little off there. So we went to this earth called Earth
Mother Coffee. And what I did very nice. Yeah, what I didn't know is that it was
essentially I mean, where you were going to get a spell casted on you. It was right
next door to an apothecary. Yes, it was right next door to this. But like the people there were
quite nice. The baristas were very nice. But it was just really interesting because we walk in
and there was definitely a mood in this place. I don't want to describe it. There was a vibe.
And and then they told us about like some of the history of the town or like just the general
like by and they weren't exactly like super. No, like like it's it's weird like they lived
in this beautiful town, but they also like actually kind of hated it. And then get out.
And then get out while you can or like don't get arrested here. Like why would I get arrested here?
Like people get in trouble here and they just come here and they do bad things and then they don't
leave. They don't leave. And I was like, what? What does that mean? Like what are you guys
talking about? And she goes, well, anyways, our coffee machine is broken. And I go,
oh, so she's like, well, so I can't make you an espresso or anything. And I go,
this is a coffee shop. What do you guys do? And she says, well, I can give you a cold coffee like
a like just a normal drip coffee. And I said, sure. And then she offers Dana. I don't know.
Dane's like, I'll get to take a chai. And they're like, oh, yeah, for sure. And then she goes,
it's broken. And then I'm like, well, the milk warmer was broken. Everything was freaking
broken. And so at that a certain point still they were nice. I'm walking around. I go to
the what's it called the pocket pocket carry, right? And I start walking around. I go, oh, man,
like this is pretty weird. If you don't know what an apothecary is, look it up. A lot of things were
in jars and stuff like that. I'm like, a lot of witchy kind of stuff. And which was fun for
all you tarot card, you know, like Halloween. It's kind of a, you know, it's a, it's a,
it's a mood to buy crystals and astrology. There was, you know, they have the incense
burning and then that's when she goes, Hey, do you want to try like a coffee
alternative? And I go coffee alternative. That sounds weird. And she goes, yeah,
like it's good energy, but it's also like no crash and blah, blah, blah. I go, I honestly,
sure, I'll try it. Not really thinking too much into it. She hands me the cup. I say,
I'm not drinking less. Dane drinks one. Dane gets a cup. I didn't waste a second.
It was scorching hot. We take like a little sip and I go, this is interesting. And she
goes, yeah, it's this stuff right over here and walks over to like this bag of
mushrooms. And she goes, it's this mushroom coffee. I go, Oh my God.
And I'm already tripping. I'm already like, I'm going to get cursed at this place.
Not those kinds of mushrooms. It was just. Dane, you just never know. And so
it was smooth. It was fine. That point. I'm like, just give me, give me, I want a
normal coffee and I want to leave. And even my normal coffee didn't taste like
normal coffee. And it freaked me out. So I dumped it out.
Yeah. So anyway, moving along, Helen was an interesting place.
It had some strange vibes, but I would say that's part of the chart. It's a little
bit strange, but quite fun. And if you don't mind a little bit of like,
something's off kind of vibe, but it goes pretty well. Like, go enjoy it. Try it out.
Dude, going with family, I think it'd be a riot. I think they have like, they have
the tubing. They have all sorts of fun stuff that I totally would do with my family.
And on top of that, again, there's like a quaintness to it that I really like.
The food we went to, what's it called? Something, something's not solely.
What do you, what do you, what would Matt call it? Mollies.
Mollies. Yeah. Oh, Mollies was wonderful.
So we went to a little restaurant called Mollies that he was all about. So we hyped
that up. So we had dinner there. And then what else did we end up doing? We went to
the, like, it's like, they have like a grocery store there. And Betty's or
something like that. So we went and did that. And it was like a country store,
but a really big country grocery market, like really fun.
If, basically, I just didn't know. And we also went to a sushi place as well.
And it was also fine. So it was a really cool experience.
I would totally go there again. I didn't really know what to expect,
but like I was so pumped when I started seeing all the Bavarian theme places.
And they're building a home to sweets that is going to be Bavarian themed.
And I'm like, this is the best. So I'll, I will be back.
We'll talk about the house here in a little bit as well.
I mean, the actual Helen house for OG, but we don't want to front load this
whole thing. We'll get some more questions. Yes.
All right. So we got Minnesota checking in. Thanks to DIY with Kane.
Welcome, sir. And then I've got appearance 91 saying you lads,
can you wash your car with Koshami CES on a weekly basis?
So wondering if ceramic effect shampoo is okay to use on a weekly basis?
Well, would that be overkill? I might just, you know, if you're using that line already,
use GSF in between uses of CES. Yeah.
You don't need to, to use it every time.
Yeah. I mean, like, basically I'm like, if it's me, I'm probably doing CES, you know,
once a month, if you want to keep up with hydrophobic behavior.
I mean, that's all you really need. Otherwise, you're just kind of wasting it.
GSF for probably your general cleans, CES for a light cleaning slash retouch up.
You can also do a GSF wash first and then do a CES wash.
And you can do it like that and do them back to back.
If you want to just make sure that you're kind of getting that protection to stick
the best CPM. FYI, if you hear noises in the background that don't sound like our wash bay,
it's because the parking lot is still very much under construction,
which is why we didn't do a show last week.
So it's all happening right next to the building.
Now it's a little further apart, so we can kind of do this.
But just in case, it's, it's nothing dangerous that I'm aware of.
All right, Bucky here. Welcome back, you beautiful people.
Likewise, you beautiful person.
All right. We got David Boyce here commenting on Anthony's haircut.
Yep. What's he saying?
It's the fresh, it's not, it's not, this haircut is going on two and a half weeks old at this point.
And it's finally starting to grow into itself, which is nice.
And so thank you though. I appreciate that, David.
All right. He's always paying attention to the hair that guy.
Yes, he is.
Yellow Hansel. So that's what your name is on your user handle.
Interesting.
That's so funny.
Hello, Honda Bros.
And Fire Brothers and Sisters.
What's going on?
Hey, hey.
Hans. It's good to see you, my friend.
We're very happy to have the man with the dragon tattoo here himself.
Then we've got Jeff C as an engineer slash surveyor with ADHD.
Tangents are my specialty.
Yes.
Thank you, Jeff.
I really appreciate that for one.
We're all guilty of tangents here, but I think that's why people who come back,
they know they're getting something different when they tune into the TRC podcast,
then your typical super focused kind of thing.
I get it.
It's not for everybody, but I do hope more people buy into the idea because I think it's fun.
Look at that. Carson's laying down some foam.
It looks great.
He's laying down some foam.
Look at that.
Delicious.
Yeah.
Next up here.
Okay. Next up, we've got Eddington.
Eddington says, yeah, you're back.
Missed you guys.
We missed you too, man.
Yeah.
Happy to be here.
Wow. Look at that.
Carson is just making that car.
Turn white.
It's vanishing.
Kane says, TRC question, how many of your non-detailing friends and relatives
know what Rinsless Wash is?
That's a good question.
Wow.
Not a lot.
You know, it's funny.
I actually know people who have no actual interest in detailing,
but they know what O&R is because they had it recommended to them
by a car guy friend or something.
And so they know what that is.
But if you ask them to explain a Rinsless Wash,
they probably wouldn't even know.
It's just they know that the product can do that.
But yeah.
I think that people can be aware of something without being aware
that they're aware of that thing.
I feel you.
Nice.
Yeah.
Cool.
All right.
Rodolfo Lopez Salinas.
I feel like these user names are not what your guys' names actually go by,
but we're just working with what we got.
I have a Black Honda Accord.
Which shampoo and ceramic sealant do you recommend?
I feel some of the ceramic sealants get my car dusty.
I have you on pure ceramic coat.
Honestly, man.
I think right now you have so many different options
that it's kind of insane.
But I will say just a good solid solution would probably be something
like a GSF from Coach Kemi.
And I'd probably use, let's see, maybe,
probably the armored detail splice quick detailer.
That's a good call.
Amplify.
Yeah.
If you use the G-Tag, you use G-Wash.
GSF and amplify every wash.
You're golden.
You're like you're set.
You don't have to do anything else.
I was going to say, Carson,
while you're kind of going between steps there,
were you noticing anything while you were applying?
Was there any weirdness or just something to note?
No.
I mean, I learned a thing from, oh gosh,
DJ from Armor Detail Supply with decon soap specifically,
where some guys like to pre-rinse,
or some people like to pre-rinse, I should say,
before they apply decon soap.
But since you're going to rinse it already
before you go in your contact wash,
I didn't because I think it's just wasting a step
and wasting time.
And so that's what I'm doing today.
I'm just letting the product actually work
rather than rinsing, foaming, rinsing again.
And then today, I'm not going to be foaming ceramic g-wash.
I'm going to be using it strictly as a bucket soap.
And so I'm not going to be foaming again.
So I'm done with my foam cannon.
Cool.
Okay.
Nice.
Little mini-tangent for you.
Little of Asian food courts at Resort.
Oh, me too.
We will be there, Mac.
Me too, Mac.
That's like my favorite spot.
Be partaking.
No, Dean, you haven't been here.
In the Asian food court.
It's cool.
I've never been to this one.
It's got a vibe.
Yeah.
No, I love that.
If you walk through and it's like walking through like an alleyway
at like in like Japan.
Okay.
And they have boba tea and they have like walk-up sushi
where you just walk up and like stand at the counter
and they give you sushi.
Just get a little roll there.
Oh, that sounds awesome.
Okay, I'm in.
We got Hanzo here.
Love Hanzo.
Good day, everyone.
Not to be confused with Hanzo the Dragon Tattoo.
No, different.
And we can't confuse this guy either.
Sheepstar checking in.
What's going on, man?
Welcome, sir.
Welcome to the party.
This is how far back we are.
Alex was noticing that he thought you were showing off
a Nitto shirt, but actually no.
It's a TRC Halloween special.
I know, Alex.
It is awesome.
It is a very cool shirt.
Yes.
And then we got Joey Balinsky saying,
oh, thank god, you guys are back.
Yeah, I know.
It's been a minute.
I'm sorry you had to wait, but we are back.
And then we got, oh, double comment from Hanzo.
Finally, this true waffle towel will be launched
at the big show.
Can't wait.
Yes, this will be an edible towel.
Delicious.
It actually melts into your coffee.
What if the rip and rag worked like that?
Like cotton candy.
It stays just firm enough when you rip it off to work,
but then it just starts to dissolve.
No, I would love like a roll.
Like a roll of strew waffles.
Like just like pull off a sheet.
Oh, yeah.
Just like sheets of waffles.
Semi-flex waffles.
And it's got like the caramel, like sandwiched in between.
Oh, oh no.
The mouth is wide.
Oh, delicious.
All right.
Finally, yes.
Moving along, we've got high tide EDC.
We need in somebody, super grom detailing video,
demonstrating the use cause for using an iKey foam
rated detail small bike.
Yeah, use case.
I don't know who that person is that you're referring to,
but yeah, that's just a pretty good idea.
You know, I'll see if I can talk to a guy about a thing,
right, and see what the deal is.
See a man about a horse.
Yeah.
I think that that person you're referring to,
that keeps this stuff pretty clean though.
I mean, I don't know.
And maybe, oh, it's okay.
Car senses.
It just says that guy's washed.
As washed as at HRV is right now.
Yeah, that's right.
It's a nice thing to say.
Let's move on.
Well, I mean, you don't know him,
so why would it be hurtful?
Yeah, it's true.
Yeah, yeah, I don't know.
You have no feelings.
I'm like his photographer.
You know what I mean?
He is completely.
I'm like Peter Parker.
Yeah, yeah.
Get me pictures of Spider-Man.
Hello, that cartoon comment is from two weeks ago.
Oh, man.
Yeah, no, Neil.
That's a pretty old comment.
That's just what was still in the feed
when we started to back up again.
That's how these things work.
All right, Jeffsy, any plans for a drying cover
for the mitt on a stick with TRC microfiber?
If not, which current TRC drying towel works best with it?
I know they tried a few different ones.
Yeah, so realistically,
I think that a cover of,
we could probably produce something like that for it.
I don't know if we will.
For us, I've just been kind of throwing up a drying cow
just around the head of it,
like a 1500 or whatever it is,
and that's kind of doing the job.
Yeah.
I'm, how do I say this?
Me personally, I'm more concerned with having a good,
or I'm more focused on having a good product
that it can wash a vehicle safely.
With a wash mitt,
versus like dry a vehicle safely, I guess,
with a stick.
Because you can get places with air in the meantime,
if you've got a...
Or I can just take a towel and drape it.
I can do a lot of different things that way,
that really, I think on a stick wouldn't just be as fun.
So never say never, but I think in the meantime,
I think what I'll probably get used to
is trying to wrap a towel around it,
like a 1500.
You can use the slots, the little insert slots
that they have there for like something thin,
like a car wash towel that we sell in a drag company,
but like much thicker than that,
it probably won't attach very well.
Okay.
And well, interesting.
Thank you, awesome guy at 7771,
saying YouTube added an update
to show the full username with the ad symbol now.
Interesting.
So,
Interesting.
It's showing your handle rather than your username.
Oh man.
So then what happens if like,
what happens if you're not the original,
but you thought you were the original?
Yeah, you're going to look like a knockoff.
That's going to be a little weird for some people.
Like if you had,
you created a channel originally,
and then you had to give up that name
because it got screwed up somehow.
But like, there's awesome guy AT.
There's 700, 700.
7771, 70 of those before him?
How does that work?
Or he just decided to jump off a little bit.
I actually don't know how that works.
Neil says that it's wonky too.
So, yeah.
All right.
We're making our way.
Actually I had my YouTube not load videos the other day.
I went to go get on it.
Really?
And I went to go like loads.
And he just literally said this video would not load.
And it did that for probably like five or four hours or so.
Or he just wouldn't load videos.
That's really weird.
Isn't that weird?
Huh.
Bane.
Oh no.
Question.
And then there's no question.
First from Puerto Rico saying he's visiting this planet.
Oh, that's what it is.
So that's helpful.
And Puerto seriously does that.
Okay.
And then Sheep offers answer.
And then he says he nailed it.
All right.
Moving along to the first.
But wow, we're on to page one already.
Moving along.
Boom.
Okay.
Here's his real question.
Bane.
For someone getting started with washing on a car that's
ceramic coated, what pre-wash soaps and shampoo
combination would you recommend?
Or do you just recommend a shampoo only in no
pre-wash soap?
So let's see.
So getting started washing car that's ceramic coated.
I would say really just, you just shampoo only for right now.
I mean, unless you feel like you need a pre-wash, you don't.
How do I say this?
I mean, I would love to sell you every single product
that we have.
But I mean, like if you were just getting started
and you're just learning this whole process, I think
that start with a normal soap, figure out how dirty
your car is actually getting to justify whether or not
you need a pre-wash and then go from there.
So, you know, get a good soap like G-S-F for, you know,
G-wash or shampoo plus or whatever, start using it.
And then if you're finding like, oh dang,
like this shampoo is great, but I do need something a
little bit more cleaning power to do it the first step,
then that's not looking to a pre-wash.
And pre-wash is a lot of, there's a lot of good ones.
There's citrus wash, there's de-con soap,
there's touchless from optimum, a lot of different options.
But yeah, I would say if you're just starting out,
go simple before going all in and see what you need.
Yeah.
And we can take our time on these answers
because we're on page one already.
So, we're just trying to help people out.
Carpher Reset is a nice soap that has a bit more bite
without being super strong, wouldn't need it
for a week of wash, but it can be effective
for a winter washing, nice.
Yeah, that can work.
And then we've got David Boyce saying Holistic Medicine,
although that's not how that's spelled.
Bane here.
Sheepstar, what about a weekly wash?
Nanometric shampoo.
I think he keeps trying to use shampoos
that have like protection in them when
you probably don't need to do that in between washes.
I'm just figuring it's not, it's kind of overkill.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But yeah, no, if you want to use GSM
for something in between, that's probably the go-to.
Next up, I've got awesome guy helping dispensaries
everywhere at Maine.
I'm sure it's the opposite night out.
Yes, it is.
They have Oregon for that.
Neal, Helen is the only German town with no actual Germans.
I love how the German restaurants are burritos,
bratz and schnitzel.
I mean, they certainly do and schnitzel fits right in.
Yeah.
It was good fun.
I actually did hear a couple Germans.
Funny enough, we were standing in some line
and we heard a couple accents and I was like,
oh, they're probably from Germany.
But like, it is, it's just so far from it.
You know what I mean?
Like you're kind of.
Yeah.
It was a Dutch accent.
Yeah.
Yeah.
There was a Dutch accent.
But like, it's two hours, right?
I mean, north of Atlanta.
So you're kind of like, if you're going there
for Oktoberfest, you're really going there
with the intention of having it going.
Outside of that, I think you're probably just in the Atlanta area
and you're just willing to go and, you know, check it out.
I kind of felt like most of the people who were there,
though, if you're visiting that town,
you're probably staying there for a couple of days
and you're not just passing through.
Because it seemed like there was enough to do
for a little while there, if you wanted to.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Like we found a way to make it work.
But most of it was spent at the cabin.
Yeah.
Then I got sheepstar here saying,
you can use a ceramic confused shampoo or pH neutral
up to you. A detailer or drying aid with protection
can serve the purpose as well during drying
or a foam slash spray on coating.
Certainly true.
Awesome guy at 7771.
Modern steel civic seems to look decent
with just about anything from the speckled nature of it.
Luckily.
So do you know anything about modern Honda paint?
I imagine you do, compared to, say,
like your 90s, you know, Honda.
As far as the production techniques go,
have they gone thinner on the clear?
Like, what have you noticed?
I haven't taken paint up gauge to be honest.
I mean, I think the quality of the paint looks decent.
I mean, I've seen.
You've seen a lot of new settings.
I mean, what did I do?
I mean, I did, gosh.
Like the FKs.
Yeah, well, the FL-5s and stuff like that.
I went and saw those and friend Steve, you know,
I helped him out with some parts on that
and I did some rock chip repair
and all sorts of different stuff on it.
And honestly, it was fine.
Like, I would probably say feel more confident in that paint
than I do probably the modern Mazda paint.
Now that I know how thin that modern Mazda paint.
Modern Mazda paint is beautiful,
but speaking from experience,
that's why I got it wrapped real fast or had PPF put on.
That paint chips like the devil.
It is the thinnest paint I've ever seen.
I've never seen thinner paint than that.
Yeah, it's like I was seeing chips
and seeing bare metal and going, there's no way.
Like there's no way that's the depth of that paint.
Yeah, it's wild how fast it goes,
but whether it's like environmental regulations
that are causing them to want to go lighter
with their output or some other reason.
I mean, at the end of the day,
it could be cost cutting any number of things,
but it's thin.
It's really, really thin.
All right, next up we've got Guy with Dragon Tattoo.
Change your name already.
Dry foaming and then rinse would remove more dirt
instead of just spraying with water with a rinse.
There we go.
And then I've got Stephen here, Stephen.
If I'm doing a wash clay seal job
and I want to finish with penis defender,
what is the best thing for a drying aid
and or clay towel loop,
bead maker, a detailer spray, rinsals or something else?
So let's see.
I mean, that one's super easy to lubricate stuff with.
Yeah, if you're doing a wash clay seal,
then do bead maker as your clay loop
and then top it with defender in six months.
Not gonna hurt.
People might give bead maker a hard time
on longevity or something like that,
but as a like lubricant,
it actually works fantastically well.
That's what we have in our wash clay seal video.
Yeah.
No, it's a good system.
Yeah.
I'm just trying to, I just don't hold on.
I'm looking at this.
Yeah.
Wash clay seal job.
You want to finish with defender, right?
Okay.
But what is the best thing for a drying aid
and or clay towel loop?
So the thing is,
is if you're wanting to finish with a defender,
right?
I mean, you could use defender as a drying aid
and you could just call it there,
you know, call it good there.
Your towels will get clogged
because you're using a drying aid,
you know, it was a defender.
And when it's a drying aid,
you're diluting it too.
What's happening is you're wanting to use
a particular product
because of its longevity, right?
But you're also kind of wanting to...
The things you're putting before that
could really impact,
you know, maybe the overall longevity
of the PNS defender, right?
So for example,
if you're using a drying aid
or a clay towel loop, right?
Ideally, like you could use bead maker,
but I would just do
wash clay seal with bead maker
and then just be done.
And then that's the end of it, right?
You could do wash clay seal with bead maker
and then top of the defender,
but there could be a chance that defender
may be impacted by the base layer of bead maker.
You can argue.
I mean, Sidney said you can do it.
You can do it.
It's not going to be a huge issue.
I don't know.
I haven't done it personally.
A detail spray, like using paint gloss
would probably be okay.
But if it was me
and I'm doing a wash clay seal,
I'm probably going to just use
absolute diluted at like, you know,
128 to 164 to 1.
Sure.
Use that as my drying aid clay loop
and then do an additional top coat
of basically defender as my final step.
That makes sense.
Yeah.
It's just, you're kind of,
I get what you're trying to say,
I get what you're trying to correct for.
It's, you're going through kind of a few hoops
there to get to that final result.
Because you want that specific product.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So it's just a question of like,
are you chasing results specifically
or is it because you already have the product
and you want to shoehorn it into your process?
Bead maker is great for wash clay seal.
It's just killer, right?
And you're going to be done so fast
and you're going to have a great result.
Defender is not great with a wash clay seal.
But it's going to last longer.
So it's a trade-off.
Yeah.
And that's why in that wash clay seal video
we have that popped off.
I mean, bead maker,
bead maker is just a better way to use
for clay loop.
5,500 GSM struplothel towel.
Oh my gosh.
Noted that would be delicious.
Thick boy.
That is a thick boy.
Yeah, I know.
Can't say the rest of that.
Yeah, I know.
All right.
Bead maker Rinsless should be perfect,
I think.
Rinsless for clay loop and bead maker for the drying aid.
I mean, yes.
But bead maker also works really well as a clay loop.
All right.
Sheepstar also pointing out he is a sucker for
built hammer, touchless and auto foam.
Haven't used the KCX ones.
KCX ones are very good.
Then we got Kevin Meiser here.
Oh boy.
Kevin's saying,
hey guys, I applied ADS Phobic over the weekend
and discovered a few small high spots.
Method to polish the high spots by hand,
question mark.
I have no machine and there are only a few
small spots to do.
ADS Phobic, I'm sorry.
If you do a fair amount of like hand polishing
in a, you know.
Yeah.
So yeah, so what you're going to do
is just take just a towel like a 365
or like a low pile terry of any sort,
put a little compound on it and I'd work it into the towel.
Just kind of massage it in to where like the fibers
are coated with a little bit of the compound.
You're just going to take that and take it to the area
with a high spot and just gently kind of,
you know, up and down side to side and barely any pressure.
And then grab a different towel and then
buff off the compound and see how it looks.
Does it look better?
No.
Keep going.
If it doesn't, you know,
basically you're going to keep doing that until it looks better.
Now the downside of doing this is there is a chance
that you could obviously mar the fobite coating
and you could be like, aw dang it.
Well, it might look visually a little bit different,
but it'll still be better than a high spot.
So use a clean towel when doing this,
especially if you're putting compound on it.
Take your time.
Don't use a ton of pressure
and you'll probably fix it within the first,
you know, pass or two.
Thank you.
Yeah.
You're trying to minimize the amount of actual removal
you're doing.
Just keep it limited to what you need.
Yeah.
Not more than that.
I want to talk about some detailing right now.
Yeah.
I was going to check in with Carson first,
but then we do that.
Yeah, let's check in with Mr. Carson Black.
How's the black car going, Carson?
It's going.
How are those water spots looking?
They came out, for sure, with the ceramic g-wash.
I probably should have, like,
probably should have
went for something a little bit more aggressive
and then finished with ceramic g-wash,
but it's doing a great job.
Worst case scenario, if we got to stretch this show out
and you got to wash it again,
it's not a big car.
If you need to target a few areas and redo it.
It's doing a great job,
but I'm kind of doubling the passes
because I don't want to miss anything.
Yeah, that's fine.
But it's handling it just fine,
but like hindsight, you know, 2020, right?
Yeah.
Okay.
Well, good.
Thank you very much.
Anthony, you look like you wanted to add something.
I was going to talk about some detailing.
Tell us.
Tell us about detailing because I'm on page one
and I need you guys at home
to start asking some more questions.
Otherwise, this is going to be a very short show.
All right.
So continuing on.
So last couple of days,
because I took some days off, right?
Yeah.
You were gone for a minute.
What's up with that?
Well, so I had my daughter's birthday last week, right?
And last Saturday, right?
It was a unicorn birthday party.
You witnessed yourself?
There were so many unicorns everywhere.
I was a unicorn security.
I even brought a nerdy Nissan Stadia
unicorn shirt.
You didn't.
Yeah.
It was great.
So my daughter's birthday was last week,
so I'm just four now.
I can't freaking believe it.
Oh my gosh.
Like it's just insane.
Time's flying by, right?
So, but we did that.
And then, you know, we had a great week
and a great birthday party.
Then on Sunday,
went and saw the rooftop man, right?
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
Roof man.
Roof man.
Awesome.
Totally awesome.
Yeah.
That's the one I'm chanting to.
Totally recommend watching it like the super 90s
and made me miss Toys R Us more than ever.
And I was like, go figure, dude.
I become a dad and Toys R Us goes away.
No, this is like a sleeper campaign
to bring back Toys R Us stores.
Dude, like I would be going to,
like if Toys R Us...
It's the kid version of Best Buy.
How do I, yeah, dude.
How do I say this?
Like when people say,
hey, what do you like to go out and do with your kids?
Right?
Like, you know,
some people like to take their kids to the park.
Some people like to take their kids to the grocery store.
You know, some people,
they find things to do with their kids that,
you know, they both enjoy doing.
I would love it.
Being able to go to a toy store and just go
and shop around or just hang out
or just like, just play with crap,
you know what I mean?
For an hour or two, I would love it.
It just sucks that they're gone.
And we actually had a decent Toys R Us
over on Eagle Road here in Meridian.
And it was nice.
It was actually really nice.
The one by the mall was sad
and we didn't talk about that one.
That's the one I usually went to.
Yeah, that one may be sad.
Yeah, a little bit.
It's like a Dick's Sporting Goods or something now.
It was next to a big five and it was just sad.
But anyway, so we did that.
And then on Monday, I was like,
you know what?
I am going to re-coat and re-polish my Honda Civic.
So that car has been
been re-spread a couple of different times
with different panels.
Some of the paint is still original on it.
But I was like, you know what?
You really need to polish this thing and re-coat it.
It does have some clear failure in a couple small spots,
which, you know, isn't my favorite thing.
And I've been essentially keeping this car on life support
with details for the last like seven years,
or eight years, I don't know how long I've had it.
It looks good in pictures to the point
that it kind of hides those imperfections.
Oh yeah, it looks so good in pictures and videos.
It looks insane.
Even in person to like a,
somebody doesn't really know, you know,
paint condition, they would probably go,
wow, this looks amazing.
I went through and spent a couple of days
doing a re-polish and a re-coat.
And I actually end up using Crystal Serum Ultra,
that I use from GTecnic.
And so we had a bottle that I was gifted, right,
from the team.
Normally you have to be, it's a professional only coating.
Certified installer kind of thing.
And I had this bottle, I'm like, you know,
it's been sitting for a while.
I really need to use it.
You know, it's just been sitting for so long,
I'm afraid it's going to go bad.
My other option would have been ADS Pro,
right, amazing coating.
I have that on the Raptor, I love it.
But I had this bottle of CSU, I'm like,
you know, I'm going to use it.
So did the coating on my Civic and literally went perfect.
It was a perfect install up to the point of the hood.
And I started coating the hood.
I was going to do four different sections.
Can I do like a square, like a cut in half, right?
And I do my first couple of sections.
Went great.
Second section went great.
Fourth section plied it, started wiping.
And I lost my towel.
I dropped on the Swiss tracks,
which isn't really that big of a deal.
Okay.
And I go, okay, well I need to grab some of my other towels, right?
Sure.
I go to the bin behind me where I had everything sitting.
Towels are gone, empty.
I used all my towels.
Oh no.
And I had already thrown them into the wash, right?
So I had a coating that I was in the process of leveling it.
Yeah, you can just...
And pushing around.
Oh boy.
And I didn't have a towel around me, right?
You have a little pucker moment there?
I ran over.
I'm like looking.
I'm like, where's a freaking...
I'm like, I am thinking this, guys.
Yeah.
Anthony from The Rad Company.
No, you're a neurotic mess when that happens.
Looking for a towel in my house that's covered in towels, right?
And I could not find a towel as this coating is sitting there.
And the thing is with CSU is it's serious crap, right?
You don't want to let that cure.
And I'm looking around.
I finally just say, screw it.
I'm just going to grab a ripping rag.
But like minutes has gone by, right?
Yeah.
I run and grab a ripping rag off my shelf.
I can rip it.
The box is kind of hanging on for dear life.
I'm pulling out of the box.
I run over to the car.
I start to try to remove the coating.
And unfortunately, that fourth area that I was kind of doing...
Yeah.
I had spread the coating out into the other areas doing my wipes,
which normally I'll kind of cup it inwards.
This one I kind of was like,
I think I don't know what happened.
I wasn't really paying attention.
I was wiping it.
Towel dropped.
I said, oh, whatever.
I'll grab it to the towel.
Basically, I lost a couple of minutes.
Grabbed a ripping rag.
Ripping rag.
Didn't do anything.
Like I literally am taking it to the coating.
Too late at that.
And the coating had already set up.
And I was like crap.
So over the entire middle of the hood,
I had white marks, right?
Push marks that you could see under the scan grip.
And this is why when people question,
they go, how come these brands have these like locked away
secret coatings that I have to go through training to use?
How come they don't just sell that to anybody and everybody?
Just sell it to Rando's off the street.
Why don't they do that?
It's because if you don't understand what you're working with,
this can happen.
But in this case, Anthony knows.
Anthony's been through the training.
He understands how this works.
His problem was just not having the necessary supplies
in the moment he needed them.
Well, if anybody was wondering,
I was using a two-tile method on the whole car, right?
I got to the hood.
I'm like, I'm in the last section.
And I'm like, and I was actually making good time,
but what had happened was I had,
one towel had kind of fallen or something.
And I had the one towel.
I'm like, I'll just do a multi-flip on this towel
and it should be fine.
And then whatever had happened, I had kind of dropped it.
And I'm so neurotic about, even on Swiss tracks,
the towel dropping on the ground during a coating,
especially on the hood, I'm like,
I'm not going to risk it, right?
So I ripped my rag and went over and didn't do anything.
So unfortunately, I had to re-coat.
I wanted to just re-coat that section,
polish off that section.
It was right in the middle of the hood.
So what ended up happening was,
as I was polishing that area,
the compound was spreading into the already coated areas
and all those polishing oils were starting to kind of
mar up the surface.
So unfortunately, I had to re-palsh out the whole hood
and re-coat it again.
To be clear, those ripping rags,
had you been able to get to that sooner,
you would have been okay because those towels
are capable of doing that.
But because it's a CSU, not CSL,
it was a ripping rag normal.
Not an XL, not an XL, not a Pearl one.
Which still could do the job.
That's what I'm saying though, they could do it.
If you had gotten to it in the timeframe needed.
So needless to say, I was freaking,
I was so mad at myself and I was like,
because you know when you're,
I was at the end of this, I'm like,
I wanted to be done.
I'm like, I'm not really having fun anymore.
I just want to finish this job and clean up the garage.
And yeah, high spots everywhere,
had to polish everything out.
I had to re-coat it all.
And it went fine in the car looks right now.
But just know that, you know,
no matter how many times you've done something,
you can still screw something up.
And it's a small setback, but it's just,
it's just annoying when it happens.
And I would just say if anything,
always have backup towels,
or any at all times, no matter what,
even if it's like one that's kind of partially used,
just have something,
because I think something's better than nothing.
But anyways, I did that.
Carl X-Rate, super happy with it.
It's very glossy, it's very bossy looking.
And also it's an engine bay cleaning on and whatnot.
And did that.
So kind of felt good.
This is my first time actually
in my own garage doing a full blown,
you know, polishing coat with my new set up there
with the flooring and everything.
And did you use the quick jacks?
Did not use the quick jacks.
Could probably could have.
If I could have saved your back a little.
I could have got them off the wall.
But actually what's funny is I kind of enjoyed,
like I was just, I got a yoga mat, right?
Oh!
Remember my yoga mat that I was using
when I was in Sweden?
Yeah!
The motorcycle exhaust?
Yep.
So I just lay out a yoga mat.
And I just kind of lay down on my side
and I was just polishing out the side skirts
and I was comfortable.
I wasn't bending, I wasn't doing anything,
you know, super, super bad.
It felt really good.
So, well nice.
Anyway, so that's what I did.
Anyway, I just wanted to tell you guys that
even sometimes, you know,
even pros mess up with having a re-coat crap.
Yeah, I want anybody watching right now,
if you screwed up on something lately,
like don't take it too personally.
Even if your experience is Anthony,
he's got a ton of experience under his belt.
He knows what he's doing.
I trust him to work on anybody's car here, certainly.
But yeah, I mean,
it doesn't matter how much practice you have,
you can still mess up once in a while
and that's okay.
Just try and have extra tools around if you can
and don't open yourself up to that possibility.
It's just high spots and coatings
and all that kind of stuff.
I mean, it's always better to obviously see the spot,
you know, as soon as you can, right?
Especially if the coating particularly has a long,
how do you say it?
A long working life, right?
Where you can actually re-wipe that area.
Well, in working time, yeah.
And then there's other coatings too
that are cannibalistic,
meaning that you can take that coating,
a wet applicator, go right back over that area
and then re-wipe it
and it will fix that high spot, right?
Some coatings are capable of doing that.
CSU is not, right, unfortunately.
Which is why it is a gate kept product.
So anyways, after I did CSU,
I was like, all right, should I do EXO?
And I was like, oh my God,
I think we're just gonna just do CSU.
CSU and EXO is crazy.
It's just, it's a, you know, it's a process.
Yeah.
How's it going over there, Carson?
How are things?
It's good.
It's good.
Just trying.
Anything new to report?
Those water spots still peeking out at all?
Nope, they're pretty good.
Nice.
Because I think it got rained on with the nasty rain and...
Yeah.
Somebody use this liquidator with the drying aid?
Oh, yeah.
You're gonna have to see.
Or not liquidator, do I put it too?
M22 with the drying aid?
Oh, no.
Somebody clogged it up.
Didn't say anything.
That's good.
It's one of our rules around here.
Watch those things.
It's having a day,
so I may have to go grab another towel,
but that's okay.
That's all right.
It happens.
Liquid Elements USA, Levi Gates in the house
saying, what's up, dude?
Levi, can I call you back?
Sorry.
And I call.
They just...
Oh, there we go.
Had a busy day.
Oh, myself and Augie are hanging out today,
headed to the Home Depot to buy more Halloween decor.
That's what I'm talking about.
It wouldn't be time with them without the Halloween decor.
That's what I'm talking about, baby.
That's what he's...
A little bit of Halloween decor.
I went to Lowe's.
You didn't check Home Depot actually, but right now,
my house has...
I have two tombstones by my tree.
Okay.
They're little.
And I got some skulls out there throughout the yard
in my rock area.
Tasteful, right?
Tasteful, okay.
I'm going for simplistic Halloween at my house, right?
Cheap.
No, no, no.
Not cheap, it just...
Minimalist?
No, I'm just not doing the blow-ups.
Oh, okay, okay.
No blow-ups.
No, no, screaming like witches and just waving.
No, I just want like...
Give me like a few hands sticking out of the lawn
or some heads, you know, places,
and then maybe some like tasteful spider webs,
and I'm happy with that.
Okay.
And yeah.
I think this year, my first year being homeowner,
I think I'm going to be that homeowner
that sits out there in the garage or on the driveway
with the campfire.
I did that, yeah.
That was me.
That's what they've done a few times.
That was me.
I always did.
I always did a little bonfire,
a little...
In the driveway.
And then there was...
I think I want to be one of those people.
Yeah, yeah, there was the year I told in the podcast
where I had a budget family come over
and I dressed as a hot dog
and by the campfire and everybody that had come to my house
had said, hey, we're actually going to go
walking around door to door, right?
And I go, okay, who's hanging out here?
Oh, well, can you just hang out for a little bit?
You just didn't even watch the fire?
I said, yeah, sure.
So it was me.
Somebody's got to watch the fire.
It was me, by myself.
Ironic, the hot dog by the fire.
For over an hour in a hot dog costume by myself.
I had roller blades on.
You were overcooked.
You had roller blades on.
Oh man, I forgot about that.
So embarrassing.
I hated that.
But yeah.
Oh boy.
All right, we got Ivan P here saying,
hey guys, do you have a wash mitt around
so I can see it live?
I'm interested in buying one.
I mean, Carson, if we had one sitting around somewhere
where you could just grab it to like show it,
I don't know if it's close by or not.
I think there may be one in the back room
or tucked away over here.
Yes.
All right, Carson's going to grab it
and he can show it for you.
That's the beauty of these things being live
is you can ask for stuff like that
and we're actually able to show you.
All right, what color is there?
Here's what they look like.
All right.
Now, unless he's talking about the mid on a stick,
that might be different.
But these are our classic wash mitts.
They are fantastic.
Love them.
They're great.
Very, very good.
All right, next up, I've got Wolfsburg here saying,
what's up TRC?
Got the mid on a stick and love it.
Dude, and it's the best.
So good.
It's a great, great tool.
All right, then I've got Deftones.
Good band there.
What's the best GSM towel for exterior?
That doesn't shed.
So GSM has nothing to do with whether or not
a towel will lint or shed.
Correct, totally different things.
That is going to be weave.
Your weave is going to dictate sometimes
whether or not a towel can lint or shed.
So typically anything with a plush circular knit
or something that is more of a high pile
will have a chance of linting shedding.
Towels that are usually twist loop,
shorter towel or twist loop,
whether they're long or short.
Circular knit or fleece.
You're talking about linting towels, right?
Yeah, I'm talking about ones more since like a twist loop wouldn't.
No, twist loop won't lint.
Terry very rarely do they really have linting issues.
Pearl weaves, linting is not a, you know.
Really shouldn't be on those.
Not really an issue with those.
So it comes down to weave, that's basically what it is.
But at the same time the towels we're talking about
that do have that possibility of linting,
it's also not a guarantee there either.
So it really depends on the products being used,
the conditions they're used in,
and sometimes it's just down to the construction
of that one individual towel,
where it was in the manufacturing process
versus one further down the line
that maybe didn't get, you know,
whatever little cork happened to make that one linty.
Unfortunately linting is more, it's just,
it's a part of my Krabber towels,
they will all lint or have an issue at some point.
And it's often, usually maybe not even that particular towel,
it could be another towel that's linting onto that towel.
It just towels will hold on to so many different things.
And static charge effects.
What I would say is that if, you know,
if you're taking a towel
and you're wiping it across glass or paint
and you are seeing like an abundance,
I mean, I'm talking a snail trail of lint,
that's usually when I call it.
And I say, hey, you know,
maybe it's time to either demote this towel,
or get rid of it, or do something,
because that's when it's a problem.
But if you're seeing a few micro,
you know, micro pieces here and there,
you know about that.
Yeah.
Sheepstar asking Kevin how noticeable they are,
if they're not easily seen leave on Kevin replies,
the worst is a line down the center of my windshield.
The rest on the body aren't too bad,
except for one panel where this looks like permanent streaks.
Okay.
Then I've got Coke's 266.
Hey, Dan and Anthony.
It's the other Anthony from here in Australia.
Nice.
I got a hold of some Wolfpack towels.
I found that I enjoy using them for interior details.
Nice.
Very good.
Love that.
Then I've got polished lip wheels.
The kids stored them over summer caked with brake dust.
Any tips to help get them clean?
That's the Washington kid.
Yeah.
So they got a polished lip.
I mean, basically just go through the standard wheel cleaner.
Chances are if they've been sitting with brake dust
for a long period of time,
you know, pinning may or may not have happened, right?
If they were, you know, if they've been, I don't know, I...
Depend...
Polish wheels, how do I say this?
Polish lips are going to pit.
They can possibly have etching.
They can possibly have brake dust that's caked on
that will just kind of turn into like kind of surface corrosion.
There's a lot of...
There's so many different things that can happen.
What I would say is start off with a good wheel cleaner.
See what happens.
You can use brake buster.
You can use a lot of different things.
Whether they are coated or uncoated,
you'll probably figure that out pretty soon,
but I'm assuming since it's a complete polish lip,
it's uncoated.
So clean them, examine.
What do they look like?
Do they need to be repolished?
Repolish them yourself if you want to do that.
If they don't need to be repolished.
Sorry.
That was weird.
I think our floor is starting to come up.
I heard a creak right under the floor where we are.
If we just suddenly fall through the floor here.
That means there's a sinkhole underneath us.
That'll be exciting.
So anyway, it's a great time for us
to take a little momentary break.
I'll call it, but you know what?
We'll be right back after a few messages
from our friends and pals over there.
You know what?
While you wait, hit that like button.
It really helps us out in the meantime.
We'll see you in a couple.
See you.
Hello, hello, hello, and welcome back
to the second half of Q&A Thursday.
Here at The Rag Company, where I'm your host, Dane Hennan.
To my left, Anthony Fisher, fellow host.
Dane, thanks for having me.
Happy to be here.
Absolutely.
Happy Q&A Thursday.
We're here at the second half of Friday Eve.
The weird half, right?
Where hopefully things start getting kind of crazy.
We go on a few tangents.
Maybe we talk about movies that we saw in even deeper detail.
We revisit historical events from our past.
Maybe we consider things in the future.
I don't know why Carson laughed over there,
but he definitely gave us a good chuckle.
Carson, what is going over there on the wash bay?
Oh, you changed products.
Thanks for having me, again.
Today, we're going to focus on interior,
because apparently I got through it pretty quick.
Small car, who knew?
Yeah.
We're using a little bit of sternocloss products.
And right now, at the ragcomony.com, they're on sale.
So if you want to pick some up, we're using
any, which is their interior cleaner.
Now, they're glass cleaner, which is glass.
Yeah, just glass.
Just glass and something.
G.L.A.S.
You got it.
And then their sweet air freshener for Mr. Seabass.
And then-
Does he want that in there?
Probably should check with him.
You probably should check with him on that.
It's pretty potent.
And he's kind of sensitive to smells.
So he's true.
We'll check with him on that.
It'll be great.
It'll be great.
Can I take this tire for him?
Do it.
Light.
Yeah.
And then, of course, some tire dressing.
The ID technique.
Carson, you're killing me.
Thank you so much.
Thank you so much for joining us today and doing this.
You're doing a great job, right?
Thank you.
Thank you for having me.
Carson Black with the black car.
Thank you for having me.
I don't know if I have a choice.
Yes.
Yeah, you don't.
I just ask him nicely.
And he says, yes, every time.
I mean, I could make Gabe do it next time if Carson doesn't want to do it anymore.
Gabe would like that too much.
He would.
He would.
He really would.
Like, it's my time, right?
Actually, I can say it right now.
Sydney will be on next week.
So we'll have her there.
So you might even get me to detail a vehicle
or you to detail a vehicle and she'll be here.
So yeah, we could switch it up.
You know, like the sound of that.
What do you guys think in the comments?
Let us know.
All right.
Next up, I've got Joey Balinski here in the comments.
Pop them up on screen.
If that'll happen.
And boom, there we are.
Hey, guys, I was polishing my wife's older red clear coated car.
And my yellow pad turned red.
Must have been some new color changing polish, right?
Right.
Man, don't do that.
No, that's sadness kicking in that, whoops,
no more clear left.
I got down to the base coat.
Yeah.
That's called the fun coat.
The color coat.
That's the fun coat.
Yeah.
That's where all the action is.
Fun and sadness.
You know, it starts there.
So if that happens to you and you're new to, you know,
say paint correction, polishing anything like that,
what should you do, Anthony?
Stop immediately.
Unless you're working on a single stage car
in which case you're going to get color on your pad.
But if you are working on a clear coated car
and you get color, that's when you should stop.
And you would think like, hey, maybe this is just a weird thing
and maybe it'll get better.
It doesn't.
I'm just don't even do it.
And then there's going to be that voice that says,
ah, just a little bit more.
Just to confirm that this is definitely clear coat failure.
There's a little bit more.
But the problem is, is he buzzed down a little bit more
and then it rapidly happens and your one little one inch
patch now turns into a five inch patch.
And you go, oh crap, it's definitely burning
through the clear coat.
Right.
And you look at that patch and then it bothers you
and you go, oh no, this is horrible.
Right.
What's my plan?
So then from there, you think, okay,
I got to call some body shops to get repainted.
Right.
They're going to tell you they're a month out,
maybe two months out.
Right.
Probably.
And you're going like, oh crap.
So now I have to stare at this five inch patch
for the next two months.
And other people are going to say, hey,
what happened to your car right there?
What happened to your car right there?
Yeah.
How come you're drawing something so
busted and sad like that?
And it's going to haunt you for two months
versus stop all your head, leave it as that little one
inch spot, put a sticker over it.
Don't even think about it.
Just a little bandage.
Call the body shop, get it repainted in two months
and don't think about it until then.
But I've just, I've been through this
and it will drive you crazy.
So just, so stop all your head.
Good advice.
Sorry.
Sorry, I kind of went off on a thing there.
No.
It's like I'm going from personal experience
and also just, you know, it just is what it is.
I burned through Dan's clear coat like three times
and it's just fun every time.
It was, that was really fun in my van
where they had those, gosh, to be fair,
you were using a 3D eraser wheel.
Yeah, that was unfortunate.
My favorite burn through on one of your vehicles.
Okay, keep in mind guys, Dan's just,
he's bringing cars in that don't even have clear coat on them.
I buy vehicles that are eccentric
and possibly a little bit on the spectrum themselves.
The particular vehicle we're talking about here,
you can find a video of it,
it means whatever you wanted to me.
No, but Dean.
The JDM van I had, the 94 Toyota Town Ace
where you sat on top of the engine
and it was just great fun.
What a fun vehicle that was.
You loved it.
Slow as hell, but so much fun.
You loved that thing.
I did love that.
Yeah, the paint on that was a true.
I'm not interested man.
So it had stickers on it before.
The stickers had baked into the clear coat.
Oh yeah.
So meaning that the stickers
were actually into the clear coat.
Just over time, what happens is that
with just wear and tear and heat cycles,
vinyl can eventually penetrate pores of clear, right?
And what happens is that vinyl doesn't come off very easily.
It comes off in little chunks, little pieces.
And so what happens is you have to then,
you know, take an eraser wheel
or try to remove it to the best of your abilities.
Well, when you have clear that's already so minimal
and you have vinyl that's baked into that minimal clear,
the chances of you blowing through that,
that clear through the vinyl,
pretty high, pretty likely.
So that's what happened with Dane's van.
But that, that was just like a,
hey, that was going to happen probably.
The Montero that Dane had was my favorite.
That was just a bad.
Dane had this.
But I loved what it was.
Montero, it was black.
I loved the Montero.
And I was like, we were looking at it,
we were like, man, this paint's so hammered.
Like there's really not a lot of clear coat left.
And I was like, you know what?
Let me yellow pad and hyper polish it.
Let me just like see really quick,
like what we can do.
Hyper polish isn't going to hurt it.
I walked out there with like a cordless machine.
I literally think it took a pixie out there,
something like that.
Nothing too crazy.
I just threw a yellow pad on there.
I think I had some hyper polish.
I shot the pad really quick.
I cleaned off the area.
And I run the hyper polish on there.
I don't know.
15 seconds.
You're in the front quarter,
like the hood or something.
I'm trying to remember where you were.
15 seconds.
Speed of whatever, three out of four.
And bam, burned through.
Wipe it off and I go, no way.
Pretty wild.
How?
How is that even possible?
And you're just waiting for somebody to like
blow on it and the paint would just fly away.
Funny enough, even with the burn,
it still looked a lot better than it did before.
True.
But yeah, there's been a couple instances where that's happened.
But you don't ever want it to be your car.
You don't ever want it to be a customer's car.
You just, you want it to be like a learning situation.
And then you just never do it again, ideally.
But I don't know.
There's also, I've, yeah, I see.
Both my current cars have good paint,
so I'm not too worried about it.
I feel like this is a detail.
You're going to do it at least one time.
Yeah.
What you don't want to do though,
is burn through paint on a live video.
Oh no.
That's incredibly embarrassing.
I would feel terrible.
I would hate that.
I was going to hold and I would never come out.
Next up.
I've got awesome guy.
Thoughts on PNS Rehab for a single stage polisher?
Thoughts on PNS Rehab for a single stage polisher for 2009 Civic?
Or soft paint in general?
Any other good one steps?
So I'm assuming to stage single stage polish for a 2019 Civic?
Yeah.
Great.
Totally fine.
That's PNS Rehab is great.
You will have a good time.
It'll smell amazing.
It smells really good.
It's got fantastic working time.
I would just use just like a nice yellow pad.
That's really all you need.
Most Civics are pretty easy to bring back to life.
Yeah.
Not going to hurt yourself.
All right.
Next up.
Oh, I'm happy to see Alpha Tango here.
Nice to see you, bud.
Hey, folks.
So happy to see you all.
Likewise.
All right.
Then we've got the Washington Kid back at it again.
Say, next time I'm in Boise.
Can we do a wash and talk and have you critique?
That'll be a solid live stream.
But seriously, it would be awesome to have someone come in and wash with you.
You know, that could be fun.
You can do something like that.
I'm not opposed.
I think we can set up some kind of live stream.
We're always looking to do different stuff like that.
So if you drive yourself down here and the timing works out with what we got going on,
you can ask them.
We'll probably give you a heads up as to how it fits in the schedule.
But yeah, just let us know.
All right.
Kevin Meiser here.
What's he saying?
Tips on Rensseless washing a large car.
Just got a 25-4 runner and put bigger wheel and tire set up and leveling kit nice.
And I have a step ladder.
Oh, a little ladder.
But the issue is reaching across the hood windshield.
I am short.
That's all right, Kevin.
So what I would probably do is buy myself a mid on a stick.
Yep.
And then I dip that mitt.
Thank you.
Right there.
Wow, that's like very fast.
Nick was quick with it.
Yeah.
I'd buy that right there.
Right there.
Dip that into your Rensseless wash bucket.
It's going to be your best friend.
Yeah.
Once again, it is awesome.
It's awesome.
Do we have one of those just like sitting around so we can like show and
compare us into Carson like he can hold that or something?
Yeah, he'll get it.
I would just use that.
And I mean, that's just for the areas that are hard to reach.
I mean, I get it before it sucks, dude.
I have, you know, my wife has her four.
Well, you got a question.
Well, 25, 400 is going to be different.
But I mean, my wife's forerunner.
I still hate that thing because the roof I have to kind of climb up onto the
ledge of the door panel and hold on to the thing and do my wash that way.
But any way that I could just not have to do that is what I'm going to do.
And that's why I'm in on sticks.
Awesome.
But for the new forerunners though, I actually was at the dealership over the weekend.
Or no, over my time off, I had to take my wife's car in for an oil change.
Holy crap.
Holy crap, Dane.
I'm not a fan of the way they look.
I went.
No, no.
I'm sorry.
Somebody took a fit, Jenna, and then just inflated it.
I tried to start two different conversations.
First and foremost, took my wife's forerunner for an oil change.
Took it to the dealership, right?
Because I've always taken her car to the dealership.
Mainly because I just like to have the maintenance records there,
because it just, it looks good on the car faxed to me.
Yeah.
In a car that's literally just resell value only.
Also, do you own a Toyota?
So Toyota people will harp on that.
Well, no, I know.
So that's why I'm my, my.
We know a Toyota person in this office who definitely would pay attention to something like that.
My resell mind is like, just get it done at the dealership.
It'll pay itself, it'll pay for itself 10-fold when you go to sell the car, right?
Do I look like a man who cares about resale value?
Yeah, yeah.
It's pretty much every Toyota person ever.
So then, I've always taken it there.
And the oil change has been like 80 bucks, right?
It's what I've always paid.
It's like a full synthetic $8 change.
It sucks, but whatever it is, what it is.
If I do it myself, it's usually around like 50 to 60, right?
Mm-hmm.
$115 a day.
$115 they hit me with.
And I go, what?
And she goes, yeah, the prices did increase just a little bit.
And I go, a little bit.
I was here like four months ago.
What happened?
And she goes, oh, I just, yeah, these just, that's just the price.
Maybe you got a promotion.
You got promoted to a new price.
$115 for a freaking oil change?
I go, are you kidding me?
So that still is painful.
I'm still thinking about that.
But I did go and look at the new 4Runners.
And I will say that they are growing on me the more I look at them.
They look like they have growths.
I know.
They're growing up.
But you know what I would say?
Also four cylinder only.
So here's what I'd probably want.
Just give me the same reliable motor that my current 4Runner has,
but give me the option to upgrade to the new looking one, right?
If I want that.
And the main reason being is that while the six cylinders
very slow and very boring to drive, it's bulletproof.
But that's why.
It's bulletproof.
That's why Toyota people like it.
But the new 4Runners, the interiors are sweet, dude.
I like the interior.
I love that retro kind of like new age.
And the seats are sick too because the seats,
they did like a tweet on them.
And they feel really like high quality because of that,
because of how tight the stitching is.
Because what they did on the, my, the fourth generation is
they put that like crappy or fifth generation.
They put that crappy like crinkled fabric in it.
And I go, what is this?
It's horrible.
It's like, it's like recycled, you know, it's like ego fabric.
It's not your favorite.
It's hideous.
And so I always thought to myself, if someday
my wife ever is like, hey, I want a new car,
but we decided to keep the 4Runner no matter what,
and I get my hands on it, then I will modify it
and make it the best ever.
There you go.
With a completely new fabric interior.
You like do some like actual seat covers
like catskin covers.
Yeah, I put leather, leather,
and I probably heated seats or something.
You don't have heated seats in that?
Here's this while they're talking.
What?
Oh, sorry, Carson.
What's that?
So we've got the midonna stick here.
This has the optional extra pole.
So you can see this is the three poles.
That is capable of as tall a vehicle as you're comfortably
going to work on.
I'm voraciously 5'8", and it's up to my shoulders.
Plus this, you know, you're taller than me,
probably a good six foot.
And so, you know, you can get up there quite a bit.
My favorite thing is you wash the top, right?
You scrub the top, you scrub your hood,
you scrub wherever.
And then you can just pop this off.
And if you're careful enough with not hitting
and using the buttons on the back,
you can just use this as a regular wash mitt.
You just have to dunk a little bit more,
and you can't flip it.
But it's just fine.
You don't have to get a separate wash mitt.
I do that all the time when I wash at home.
So keep that in mind.
I feel like you look like a wizard right now.
Mike, so you know, he has a staff.
Gand off the gray, right?
There's also a Gand off the white.
What about Carson the black?
Yeah, there you go.
Yeah, great.
Well, awesome.
Anyways, about the forerunners, we'll change the conversation.
OK, so moving along, I hope that helps you, Kevin,
with little height differential.
That thing can really cover whatever you can't with your own height.
OK, next up, we got deftones.
What's the best GSM towel for applying
a spray sealer that doesn't shed?
Spray sealer that doesn't shed?
So, oh, oh, OK, a towel that doesn't shed.
For applying spray sealants.
I would go ahead and try an FTW.
You might just love the FTW.
Just wash it after, wash it immediately after you're done.
And so it doesn't seal the towel.
But that will probably give you, you'll love that experience.
You will love it, promise you.
Fantastic towels for that purpose.
If I had to use one towel to do everything, FTWs.
Quick PSA, be careful when spraying panel wipe
and windy conditions.
It doesn't taste nearly as good as you think.
Don't pour pure crystal wash on your hand thinking it's leftover.
Oh, no.
Alpha tango.
Not good.
Don't do that.
Oh, that probably got real itchy and burny real fast.
Honestly, we shouldn't be doing it.
We shouldn't have anywhere near the chemical exposure
that we probably put ourselves through.
But we do it anyways.
I, for example, had panel wipe that spilled on my hands
as I was trying to refill my 16 ounce, right?
Would you hand it real cold?
No, no, that'd be like lacquer thinner.
Yeah, that's more lacquer thinner.
That does feel nice.
Not good for your skin, but does feel nice.
But I was pouring a panel wipe, right?
And I spilled on my hand.
I go, oh, dang it, right?
So the logical thing to do at that point would be,
hey, let me go run this underneath some water,
free-freerance it out.
And then from there, maybe use some soap and water
to wash my hands, right?
I just grabbed a spray bottle of O&R
and sprayed my hand off.
And I'm like, and then I realized what I did.
And I go, Anthony, just go and wash your hands.
And so we do these things.
And it's not good.
We probably shouldn't do these things.
Wear gloves, too.
Well, you can.
It just treat it like an anti-synthetic or something.
My skin is still in good shape, so that's a good sign.
Next up, DevTones.
In my experience, it's more about the nap versus the nap
length versus the GSM.
Yep, shorter nap plays nice.
You can have a high GSM while still having a shorter nap.
It's possible.
But FTW, Swiss loop towels in general,
purlways, things like that, they do really well.
Being dense, but not necessarily with the pile sticking
really far out.
That's true.
Hanzo, has or will the TRC crew ever go to North Carolina?
Have we ever been to the Carolinas?
We never actually touched into the Carolinas
on our East Coast adventure.
We went as low as Virginia.
I think I would like to experience the both the North.
We also went to Maryland.
And South Carolina only.
I want to get them both to the Carolinas in one trip.
I mean, I love the coast of the Carolinas
just as like an imaginary place to go
and like build a little cabin in the woods by the beach.
That sounds fantastic.
I hear so many great things.
Well, I would like to do the Carolinas.
Yeah.
And then I would like to do the Dakotas.
I'm sorry to those of you who live in the Dakotas.
If you live there by choice,
I'm sure there's some reason you like it.
Personally, not my thing.
Just seems like it might be a little boring.
But you know, you do the Dakotas
and you do the Virginias.
And then what else can we do?
Well, West Virginia is very different from...
I mean, just in terms of like the kind of experiences
you have going in Kentucky.
Similar names, yeah.
Yeah.
So anyway, South Carolina to visit our friend Eric at Charleston.
We should go say hi to Eric.
That is something we should do.
That would be a fun time.
I would enjoy that actually.
And he could like...
We could drop in on one of his concerts or something.
Yeah.
That'd be cool.
I'd like that.
All right.
Happy Friday Eve, guys and gals.
The Super Auto Out.
Welcome to the program.
Now what's going on?
Good to see you here.
Yes.
That vacuum is very quiet.
Made on a sick ProPlus TRC edition would be perfect.
See, there we go.
We're solving problems.
Sounds like Anthony had an experience like I did
before I got stout certified.
Joey, here's the difference between me and you.
You had towels.
You had no experience.
You had no experience.
You had no excuse to high spot like you did,
but I'm not going to get into that.
Oh boy.
Yeah.
Wolfsburg.
Coating a car but need to do it in two days.
Day one, Decon Wash Clay Bar.
It needs to sit outside overnight.
Day two, polish coat.
What should I do before the polish process?
Rentsless, quick detailer, question mark.
So here's what I recommend.
If you can do this, Decon Wash Clay Polish the first day.
Just do it.
The reason why I say this is that those steps back to back
will work together a little bit more seamlessly
than trying to tackle the polish with the coating
back to back.
And the reason why I say this is that polishing takes
a little time, right?
Coating takes a little time.
So what you do is you have two big time consuming blocks
within one day.
You're going to be pretty worn out, right?
Washing, Decon a car?
Washing a car?
Easy.
Clay bar in a car?
Easy, right?
Those are two easy things.
I would rather you knock out those two easy things
and then do either a majority polish
or a partial polish.
Do everything you can, big panel wise.
That first day, let the car sit overnight.
Even if it's outside, it's fine.
It's not going to hurt anything unless it's
like raining acid rain.
And then from there, bring the car in
and then you can re-rinsless that area
if you need to, if it's a little bit dirty,
and then polish out the rest of the vehicle,
maybe if it's just a panel or two.
And then I would probably do the coating
right after that.
I just say, I've just done this too many times.
I mean, I'm just fresh off doing it
literally yesterday, right?
So like literally yesterday.
So I kind of, yeah, I would probably say to polish
if you can in the same day that you wash.
I mean, that is unless you're doing like engine,
unless you're doing like full wheels off
and you're doing a bunch of other stuff.
But if you're doing it in just two days
and the expectation is just to polish and coat,
then polish should be day one.
Coat in fine detail should be like day two
if you can get that done.
But if interior is not part of it
or anything like that, then you should be fine.
Yeah, that works.
Then I got Matt Bergson here saying,
I rarely use a drying aid.
Not sure why I need one if the car is clean
and I'm using my amazing 1500s and M22 towels.
I mean, you're going to be fine
using those towels and stuff.
You don't need to use a drying aid,
but sometimes it's just a preference thing.
People just like the way it feels to use that.
They feel like it's doing something for them.
I can't really fault it.
All right, let's see.
Sheep says he's about to be stout certified.
I don't know if that's a joke or that's true,
but either way, water isn't a great lubricant
and most marring comes during the drying step.
That's my two cents, says Joey.
And then Joey also says, did we become friends?
Okay, it's a lot of back and forth.
So we're going to move along here.
Steve Pearson, a few small spots,
a small finishing polishing pad and a little polish
very lightly by hand, then reapply phobic over it.
He's talking about the wheels.
Yeah, so he's all about that.
Yeah.
We're on the page.
Well, let me make sure I'm there.
Okay, we're on the page two now.
Good.
We found our way back.
Anthony, did you ever or are you
considering PPFing your Raptor at all?
No, I'm pretty much like,
I already have like a couple of chips on the hood
that I've already kind of touched up.
They look good.
I probably could just PPF over it,
but like realistically, I'm not super worried about,
I mean, knock on wood, I'm not super worried
about PPFing everything there.
I think that if I were to drive the Raptor,
like a Raptor should, then I probably should PPF it.
But knowing that that thing is a street princess,
then or whatever it is a pavement princess,
I'm, it'll probably never see anything that needs PPF.
Hmm.
It would be, if I bought that truck new, right,
I would probably do it.
Like your forerunner that you just bought?
Yeah, I'd probably do it.
Since I bought it used, it's just not,
you know, it already has a couple of imperfections.
It's just, it is what it is now.
But I think the whole goal of PPF is that
if you have me one or two chips
and the rest of the car is perfect
and you really wanted to preserve it,
then yeah, it's a no brainer do it.
If you, you know, if you have the cars new do it,
but at a certain point, you kind of,
you weigh out, you weigh out, okay,
PPF's not cheap, it's a couple thousand dollars.
How good am I going to be, you know,
refraining from rock chips
if you feel like you're pretty good at it then?
It's a big vehicle.
That's a lot of PPF.
Now, when I did it on my Miata,
small vehicle, not cheap,
but at the same time with that paint,
I knew I didn't want to.
Yeah, but you're, but you're taking up to bogus.
Drive it.
You'll tailgate some people trying to pass them,
things like that.
I drive it hard.
And because of that, you are susceptible,
more susceptible to getting chips.
So it makes sense.
And honestly, you'll be,
you're super happy that you did.
I am very happy.
Does it look great?
Sometimes the PPF seems to like trap dirt and stuff.
It's not ideal, but given the choice,
I'd much rather it be safe tucked away underneath,
you know.
Someday when I'm, yeah,
someday when I, when I, when I buy my first new vehicle,
like I go to, I don't know if that's something to be like,
really excited about,
but it'd be cool to go to the dealership.
I've never bought a new vehicle.
It'd be very fun, I think.
What was your forerunner knew at the time
when you took that on?
My wife's, but I mean,
like, you know, it wasn't really,
I mean, it was, it was hours-ish,
but like, I'm the one that's like,
let's PPF, let's do all this.
And she's like, you can't be crazy about this.
This is my vehicle.
And at that point, I'm like, I got to let go.
And so I basically never took ownership over it.
Hence why I just spent $115 on a freaking oil change on it.
So I am, I've let that car go.
But side note, this morning when I was driving into work,
I did, I pulled up next to one of those Ram RHOs.
Oh yeah.
Yeah.
Those are big trucks.
Well, it's a TRX minus the V8.
It's the same TRX body.
Yeah.
I mean, it was just as wide, look just as mean.
And I'm like, dude, that's an awesome truck.
It really is.
It's a cool truck.
But I think that, I think they're still like, oh,
quite a bit of money, right?
That's not cheap.
They're not cheap at all.
No, they're, they're effectively,
if the TRX is what the Raptor R is,
then the RHO is more akin to the Raptor.
Yeah.
So yeah, it's kind of fitting into that,
that scheme of things.
We got Alex here saying,
remember when you had a podcast?
Good times.
Miss those.
You know what?
We miss them too.
It's true.
Was fun.
And then Joey says, I was just thinking this.
And then she says, you had a good run.
Man.
All right.
Real question.
Big KW, my wife and I both have carpeted fender wells
in our vehicles.
Love that.
Had that before.
Sucks.
We live on a gravel road.
I farm.
Is there anything that will repel dust?
And what is the best technique to clean them?
Would, oh my carpeted liner.
Could he use?
Could he use it?
You know what I'm talking about.
No, I don't.
It's a P&S product.
Waiting.
It's a vacuum aid.
Release.
Yes.
Could you use that in an exposed to the elements area?
Probably get probably an anti-static effect.
I don't think I've ever heard anybody talk about it
like that.
But that could be that could be something.
Shot.
What if somebody tried that?
It actually worked really well.
So has anybody tried that?
I'm asking.
Genuinely.
Or did I just have like a major epiphany here?
And I just cracked the code.
So release is a vacuum aid in the terms of that.
Basically what it does.
For carpets?
Yes, but it's meant to release hair follicle.
I mean, hair is it's meant to basically.
Driving over a lot of hair.
Almost dead squirrels.
It's meant to essentially shock that carpet
to bring everything to the surface
to make it to where it does release, right?
From those fibers, right?
It also is a lubricant for your for real
or your vacuum, right?
I get that.
So it would not necessarily repel
where I thought you were going was.
Or just do paint gloss.
I thought you were going to say take inspiration
fabric, you know, spray.
Oh, okay.
Well, oh, fine.
Yeah.
Or something like that.
And then top it.
No, I mean.
The best thing.
Yeah.
That for cleaning is the best thing is a turbo nozzle
in my opinion.
He doesn't want.
He doesn't just want cleaning though.
He wants to actively repel stuff from sticking to it.
He wants like anti-static properties,
which is why I threw this out there.
I thought I was doing something.
Scotch guard it or something like that.
I'm still saying turbo nozzle.
The turbo nozzle is going to be effective enough.
Wonder, I there's got to be very careful.
I mean, I haven't researched it,
but I imagine there's got to be some type of repellent spray
for carpeted fender liners that is probably
maybe similar to like that of a clear coat of that.
It's a little bit harder and, you know,
a little bit more repellent.
There's got to be something like that.
Okay.
Well, I hope that helps big KW.
All right.
Best advice to remove light scratches or etchings in my clear
coat without having to use a polish machine
or items to fix things.
Paint is soft as well, Tesla.
Yeah, so you just do by hand.
I mean, basically, you know,
you can take a microfiber applicator.
You take a little bit of polish or compound
and you can just hand polish the area
if you want to do that.
Machine is always going to be your best finish.
It's going to be your most, you know, universal pressure.
It's going to do the best job at probably refining a scratch
and making either disappear or just look a lot better.
By hand, it's still 100% possible.
It's just by hand, it's going to take longer.
You may not be able to get as good of a universal finish on it.
You don't want to gouge it, right?
So whenever you're polishing by hand,
you don't want to put all the elbow grease in the world.
You want to use light pressure and you want to do,
you know, hit it from different angles.
At that point, do what you can.
Yeah. I still think by hand,
one of my favorite compounds is still Last Cut.
Even by hand, it's an amazing compound.
So take a little bit of Last Cut
and take a microfiber applicator,
like a five by seven Terry or Pearl applicator
from the redcombing.com and do it that way.
Okay. Then I've got Joey responding to Big KW
about those carpeted fender wells.
I would drybrush them and then hit them
with a turbo nozzle on your pressure washer.
Just like Carson said.
You could also ultra air blast them.
Then she agrees, turbo nozzle.
For sure.
The algae air blaster on those, right?
Just to blast them out and then turbo nozzle it.
Pretty dang good.
Turbo nozzle is awesome, man.
I know that people kind of, you know, you laugh at it,
but it doesn't work.
Even I got one of those things.
Steve Pearson here.
Anthony, those quick TRC intro videos
are getting so close to,
hey, it's Anthony from RevZilla.
If you had a sole patch and spiky hair,
I don't think I could tell the difference.
Hey guys, anything with the RevZilla
where you can watch the side and ride?
And today's detail breakdown of the RevZilla sports watch.
Oh man.
Then they got Big KW here to order a turbo nozzle.
So I guess that's happening.
Yeah, they work pretty good.
And I mean,
Yeah.
Sheepstar also says,
just keep a bit of distance and careful
need the fender edge.
Near the fender edge.
I think it's what he meant to say.
All right.
Text of size 10-4.
Seeing comments, we're going through.
Oh, they're very excited about Sydney being back in the house.
And then David Boyce.
Dane loves you guys.
Not true.
I've never owned a you go and I wouldn't.
But I get what you're saying.
All right.
Dane should have put a TRC sticker
on the caramel disc burn.
Well, I didn't do that.
So sorry.
Jeff C. I burned through an edge of my car
with a Flex Pixie and TLC Plus.
That's the last cut plus.
I put the TLC Plus away
and dabbed on some Dr. Color Chip.
Okay.
That's a that's good move.
And then he follows up and says,
now I just divert my eyes from that area.
The way that you might avert your eyes
from your buddy's butt crack.
Wow.
That really illustrates the point.
Sounds like very specific, Jeff.
Yeah.
Thank you, Jeff.
Thanks for the visual there.
Oh, Jesse Grace.
What's he saying?
Hey, guys, two questions.
Any polishes that won't leave white on trim
if you ever happen to go over it?
What ratio for ADS Hero?
I think they're about to bust you.
Never mind.
They're just working out there.
It's not our business.
What ratio for ADS Hero can you use
for a waddle, a spray bottle,
for bird drops, things like that?
So you can do like 128 to 1 for Hero.
Works great.
Is it 64 to 1?
Yeah, 64 to 1.
Now 128 to 64.
I prefer 64 to 1.
Do you, really?
I do.
I like 128 to 1 because I feel like Hero's already slick.
That's just me.
I like a little bit more, you know.
Well, 64 to 1 is value, right?
So I might as well start a little bit more.
Say sorry.
It's mixed with some distilled water
and how about it?
Polishes that won't leave white on trim,
I think glass cut is a good example
of a polish that won't necessarily stain trim.
I do think they could leave some marks on trim,
but I don't think it necessarily
is going to stain it and turn white and chalky.
Three hyper polish will not stain trim.
It actually cleans it up.
It will clean your trim, yeah.
So hyper polish is amazing for that reason.
All right.
Then I got Sheepstar responding to Jesse.
Even if the polish won't stay in the trim,
it can still alter the finish.
It is a polish.
I still tape up the regardless
of the polish I'm using.
Interesting.
Sheepstar, you don't have to with hyper polish?
You don't with hyper polish.
You'll never have to do that ever.
I am so confident after seeing these guys do it for years.
I guess he's saying still alter the finish of the trim,
meaning that again.
Yes, like if it's a matte
and then you polish it and it turns glossy
and you don't want it to be glossy.
I never had to polish and ever do that.
But it's not like that really.
Yeah, man.
I don't know.
I mean, I know what you're saying.
He's not wrong.
Some times though, I will say that a certain trim
can oxidize without you knowing it can oxidize.
That part.
What will happen is, you won't know,
because it's still matte looking,
or it's still satin looking.
Yeah.
Well, it starts to look kind of dingy satin and dingy matte
and you're not really sure what that looks like.
So then you're not really sure that things have changed.
And then you do hit it with something
like hyper polish accidentally and you go,
oh my god, that looks way better.
That's what happened to my wife's forerunner
when we were doing that.
And I was like, oh my god,
we need to do this to everything.
Yeah, no, it worked out.
It's nice.
Uh, look what elements, Bob again.
Currently, Home Depot is discounted.
They're animatronics at 50% to 60% off.
Stop it.
Just in time for Home Depot.
Did they really leave I?
Wow.
Anything good?
Anything worth picking up?
I might stop by on my way home.
No, man.
I'm curious on what they have
if there's anything that I would enjoy.
Because right now at my front porch,
I have some haybills, like miniature haybills.
Oh, yeah.
With a skeleton and a pumpkin.
Is he like just sitting on it?
Just sitting on the haybills.
Yeah, that's cute.
That's cute.
Yeah, it's nice.
I thought it was a nice touch.
And it smells like, hey, when you walk inside,
Mike, my front door, right?
Is that something you want?
It's fun.
It makes me feel like I'm on a farm.
Genuinely asking.
Makes me feel like I'm at the pumpkin patch.
Yeah.
I love the farmstead.
Actually, no, I don't like the farmstead.
I like smelling like an animal.
I like what the farmstead used to be, Carson.
Do you remember the old farmstead?
I do.
That was over off of, like, whatever was off of,
like, way out of the Linder, remember?
Linder Farms.
It was called Linder Farms, right?
Do you remember where the farmstead was,
by the freeway, where the Topgolf used to be?
Yeah.
Oh, I do remember.
That was good.
That was good.
But Linder Farms was great,
because you want to know I like that place?
Why?
Mini Donuts.
Oh, the Mini Donuts.
I get me every time.
I was at the Hyde Park Street fair
and got the Mini Donuts.
Stop it.
You do cinnamon sugar?
My favorite?
Is this from where you do powdered sugar?
I got a little glaze on them.
Did you?
And then I got some where they had the powdered sugar,
and it was delicious.
I like the apple cannon.
Amazing.
Did you guys ever do the apple cannon?
Yeah, I love the apple cannon.
Have you ever done a pumpkin cannon?
No.
They're freaking crazy.
What?
Yeah, they used to do that.
You know where the River Cross is over in Eagle,
that little area you could, like, drive back there?
They were, like, running that,
and you could, like, shoot it into the woods.
Anyway.
It's so sick.
Anyway, maybe it wasn't legal.
I don't know.
Yeah.
Whatever.
Yeah, whatever.
It seemed pretty organized.
There were a lot of people there,
but it was a long time ago, so.
Joey Balinsky says he's still anticipating
the TRC Modesto trip,
where we revisit all of my childhood spots, right?
My childhood home, along with my elementary school,
my junior high, where I saw my first stabbing,
as well as my, you guys are laughing,
but it's true, and as well as my high school,
Grace M. Davis High School,
where I was also very afraid of drive-bys.
Yeah.
No, I thought it said Modesta,
like the coding company.
I was just like, oh, I haven't heard of this.
That is Modesto.
Being a thing I don't recall visiting, but okay.
Ricky Valencia here.
Any content from the Helen House coming soon?
Yes.
Any collaboration with Madam Video?
Yes.
Actually, quite a few things.
There's a lot of content, actually.
We're recorded there.
Some are deliberately being held off
until almost TRC Modesta time,
but there will be some things in there
that may be dropped sooner.
Yeah.
So we, yeah, we shot actually quite a few videos there.
A lot of it's going to be good.
Matt kind of did his like in, you know, in the day,
you know, vlogs, updates, which didn't really show much.
We didn't, I mean, we weren't.
Those are on his personal channel though.
Those are on his personal channel,
but in that, we were just kind of hanging out
in those videos.
Yeah.
Honestly, we weren't really doing anything.
And one guy was extremely mad
that somebody was trying to give him sweets.
The video of, the videos of us actually doing stuff,
right, will are being produced,
and those will come out eventually,
but that trip was really fun.
And that house was crazy.
Yeah.
No, we'll have a house tour and everything as well.
The house will probably be gone before that, but, you know,
it's one of those things.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure.
That thing is already sold.
Yeah, I think it's already bought it.
So Jesse says, yeah, I pulled all nighter
in the middle of the week to polish
and coat my wife's X5O.
Zero stars.
X5, zero stars, do you recommend?
Yeah, they had polishing and coat,
and like one night, it's just a lot.
Just a lot.
Then I got a bunch of people
asking about liquid elements,
tools back and forth,
talking to Levi about those, different tools,
and then I've got Delta.
What's Delta saying?
Hi there, guys.
Old cars paint versus new cars paint.
I think he just wants a general discussion.
Yeah, I'll take a, I actually don't really.
Single stage versus lacquer base versus clear coat.
I mean, you got your different types,
but what's a detailer really going to run into
most often these days?
Probably some single stage,
but mostly clear coat.
Some awful noises coming up from over there.
I think they're about to bust you
that wall as a Kool-Aid, man.
I swear to you.
No, I don't know.
I would say that modern paint,
a lot of it's a lot really easy to work on.
Your pros and cons, right?
Older paint, right?
With harder clear, it's more robust.
It's going to stand up to the test of time.
But deeper clear too.
It's got a lot of positives to it, right?
However, some of it's really hard.
Some of it's really so hard
that it's kind of hard to cut through.
Sometimes the paint can still fade and oxidize with time,
regardless of how thin or how thick it is
and how much clear is on it.
I think that paint technology has come a long way
and they've tried to basically optimize it
to where they're shooting thinner paints more than ever,
which is cool.
But in terms of durability, long-term durability,
we have no freaking idea, man.
I mean, because none of this is done.
A lot of this new technology paint
has only been around for the last 15, 20 years or so.
I think they do have up the durability
while being able to spray it thinner.
But the reason they're spraying thinner
is because regulations dictate
that they can't output as many DLCs and stuff.
But if you look at a lot of those early-mid-2010 cars
where they started experimenting
with new paint types,
a lot of those have catastrophic clear-co-failure
at this time.
Those 2010s, the Priuses, the Civics,
the all sorts of different cars around that time frame
have had paint issues, right?
You could always see the paint spots on certain vehicles,
like Dodge Rams and Dakota has always had the specific
fender spots.
Ford going to aluminum body, right?
And then they're paint not adhering to the aluminum
because they're what's it called?
They're adhesive, what's it called?
Their primer was not holding up.
But that's funny because aluminum was,
I mean, while it was unusual in a full-size truck platform,
it was not uncommon in the automotive space at that point
for some cars to be made fully with aluminum.
Audi was doing it, the Acura NSX was doing with it.
Like aluminum body cars were not unusual.
My Jaguar XKR, also full aluminum monocoque,
same thing with the F-Type.
Correct, but I think what was happening
is you have mass production with newer type of paints,
right?
Yeah, production numbers, the F-150 outnumbers, all.
New materials for these brands, for certain brands,
right?
Especially like Ford, right?
They're like, okay, well, let's try this.
And they're doing them in different factories.
My XKR came from a time when Ford owned Jaguar.
Well, then they were doing something.
Well, where was that car built?
It was built in England.
Well, that's what I'm saying.
Wasn't made at the Dearborn factory in Michigan,
where things were failing left and right.
Moving on, I'm not going to get too far into this.
That's just it.
I love these little tangents.
But we've got David Boyce asking Anthony,
when will you bring the RSX or Evo in to be washed
on TRC or YRC?
Oh, my gosh.
And ratio this with your gems.
Wow.
What does it mean, YRC?
On TRC?
Does it mean TRC?
It means TRC.
Okay.
Just double checking.
I don't know.
Probably because they're always clean.
They're never really dirty.
And honestly, right now, this road to get to work,
right, David, is hell on earth.
We've had road construction for nine months
on this only way to get to the TRC building.
We've had chip seal.
We've had dirt trucks.
We've had rock trucks.
We've had lanes cut off.
We've had dips in the road.
We've had everything for like nine months.
It's been horrible.
Now they're completely redoing the parking lot out here.
And everything is completely torn up.
Oh, yeah.
So this is just more so than ever.
I've been less motivated to drive any car
other than a truck to work.
You just happen to have like the most fun truck
to do that with.
Thank you, Dan.
Yeah.
Griot's garage.
Griot's garage will well cleaner.
Also darkens the area.
It's interesting.
Cool.
And we got awesome guy saying
Harbor Freight has cheap, nice polisher.
I mean, you talk about like the Bauer,
ones like that.
I know they had a couple different ones
that they messed around with,
but in experience, they could differ.
Steve here with a contrasting opinion,
the Bauer is so good.
Had a battery issue recently.
Had to go back to my roots to finish a coding job.
It came in clutch and was going to use.
Okay.
Yeah.
Sheepstar says I've tested this.
It's possible.
I think he's talking about the trim polishing thing.
Steve agrees.
I'm a sheep.
If the trim is in a spot where the polisher
can hit it, tape it.
Steve, I'm still saying when it comes to like
hyper polish something like that,
having done it myself,
it is okay for it to touch.
Don't worry about it at all.
It's fine.
I just hit it.
It was literally like the biggest time saver,
biggest life saver.
TLC and hyper polish.
Stress fall away between TLC and the hyper twins.
It was so nice to be able to just not worry
about taping off trim anymore.
Yeah, I don't do it at all.
I mean, if you get residue anywhere,
fine.
You can clean it out,
but like, it's really not bad.
Like the only time I'm probably taping trim
is if it's like a weird...
If it's like, I actually did it on my car
the other day.
It was a brand new piece of trim that was like...
It's rubberized,
meaning like it's rubber rubber.
Not like kind of like plastic trim,
but like rubber rubber.
Yeah.
And I was like,
I don't really want to hit this.
So I taped it off really quick.
I didn't even touch it really.
Yeah, I don't know.
I get different strokes from different folks.
I just, I personally have stopped taping trim.
But I've also used products that don't
stain trim and haven't stained trim
in many, many years.
I mean, there's still other products out there
that will and they work great
for different applications,
but you know, if you can avoid it all together
and you're the kind of person
who doesn't want to spend the extra time
taping off trim,
then options exist.
You can get around it.
Sheepstar here,
I have hyper polished too.
I should mess around.
Yeah, dude, try it.
Like actually just go use it purposely,
butt up against some trim
and you know, watch what happens.
Now I will say like,
as far as different kinds of trim
that can be affected,
are we talking in the case of like the
non-painted like just black plastics
where they kind of have the crinkle finish
or you're also talking about like
piano black finish with clear,
you know, very scratch prone trim covers
that go between like windows and stuff on cars
because I'm thinking more on the lines
of the piano black ones.
You know, I'm thinking like matte and satin.
Yeah, and the matte ones too.
And I think when talking about the matte ones,
the concern there was,
oh, if you polish it all somehow
becomes shiny or something.
I think the color that the depth
of like the black level of it may increase.
Like it may get darker,
but other than that,
I don't think it's going to get like
super shiny mirror finish
or anything like that.
I've never seen that happen.
Yeah, but anyway,
we're on the first page
so we can take our time with these.
So that's why I'm kind of like
going a little bit more into it.
But Steve here also says,
I prop the doors open to reduce any taping.
Most of the taping I do is to cover
seals and not get muck on the pad.
That's totally fine.
Yeah, it makes sense.
There's nothing wrong with that.
And then Sheepstar is referring
specifically to raw plastic trim.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So yeah, like the stuff at the base
of your door seal.
Yeah.
Okay, I can see that.
Awesome guy.
Civic got matte black trim.
I mean, yeah.
So you're talking about the stuff
that is not awesome.
Even if you hit it with hyper polish,
it's not going to do anything.
I mean like a little wipe it right off.
All you'd be all that would be different
is that you've maybe got polishing oils
on that trim.
And if that's the case,
then you just take a microfiber towel,
a little bit of like rinse this wash
or a little bit of interior cleaner.
You can just like rub it right off.
Yeah.
So I've done this on a car
that had bad trims faded and polish
helps not hyper polish,
but then the finish came,
became uneven.
Oh, like after it kind of started
to wear again naturally and start to look uneven.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean that could also just come down
depending on how old that trim was,
the car, all that stuff.
I mean it's been subjected to different chemicals
and different parts
that may have been affected differently.
It's not an apples to apples thing,
I guess.
And that's fair.
But if you did it with hyper polish,
I do think you would see it look better.
Or even when we were,
gosh, when we were using rehab
and we actually touched up
on some trim and stuff with that,
it worked really well.
Yeah.
Sid just gave me the little polisher
and I went along on the trim
on the flex and stuff
and it came out nice.
He really did.
It looked great.
But yeah, that was pretty much
where I was at on that.
He also says,
there is no way you're at the end
of comments seven minutes early.
Something terrible has happened somewhere.
I know, normally I'm able to drag
out these shows with all my weird little tangents.
Even I could not manage to get the show
to go on past the normal amount.
We usually have a boat
but of questions, guys.
I think it was because you weren't used
to us being gone for a little while
and so people are a little sheepish
excuse the phrase and have not turned up
in the droves that we hoped they would.
But, you know, we get back in the swing of things.
You guys will come back, I'm sure.
So anyway, I hope you hit like on this thing
and Sidney will be back next week.
So you'll be able to have her and Anthony here
and I'll be detailing a car, I'm sure.
So Carson doesn't have to do it again.
Speaking of Carson, how's it going over there, bud?
The tires right now.
Okay.
Finished up.
Quick little interior wipe down.
Seabass has a lot of stuff in the car
and so I'm not really...
Yeah, the top down view really just shows it all.
Yeah, not really wanted to touch all that stuff.
So I just did a quick wipe down on the door panels,
clean the glass as much as I can
and just called it there.
So nice.
Well, the car looks infinitely better.
So definitely appreciate that.
Also, how is this tire pressure
looking on that right rear tire?
Yeah, it's been squealing.
Oh, really?
You can kind of hear it.
Like the nail on it, you think?
Yeah, there's a nail right on the top.
You can see it.
Oh, okay.
And so before you leave, we'll go straight down
to Les Schwab and have them patch it for free
because they will do that.
Yeah, we'll air it up right before he leaves.
Yeah, we got to keep our guys safe.
Wolfsburg here with a good relevant question.
Winter is coming.
Any washing tips in the snow or cold
or just find a touchless wash?
Hmm.
What do you think, Anthony?
So if you're doing this,
you know, if you're doing this in an area
where there's tons of snow,
I do recommend just going to like a spray and pay
and doing it yourself.
If you want to, you know, fight the elements,
you can go out there, bring a bucket, warm water,
and you can do a wash yourself.
Chainsaw is probably not going to be anybody else
out there doing it.
If you normally they have hot water there
when at those spray and pays.
You can do a touchless wash if you want to as well.
If you have a garage,
you can try to do a warm rinse-less wash in the garage.
You know, I typically tell people,
get a heater in the garage, heat it up,
get a bucket of warm, hot, rinse-less water,
and, you know, use something therapeutic.
You know, like absolute, it's kind of nice
because it smells like, you know,
it smells like you're going to have a beach day
in the middle of winter time.
That sometimes feels pretty therapeutic.
You know, maybe a little hero,
right, a little bit of lemonade,
strawberry lemonade, rinse-less,
and do it that way.
That would be one way to do it.
Outside of that, yeah.
I mean, really, I would say, for the most part,
in winter time, you're never really expecting
to be driving around in a perfectly detailed,
dialed-in car, but I would recommend
removing the muck when you can,
just to prevent any type of abrasion
that would happen with it on there, right?
So you have a dirty car driving around,
somebody leans up on it, and you go,
holy crap, you just marred my finish.
And they go, what does that mean?
And you go, you just marred my car.
And they go, well, it's dirty.
And you're like, that's the point, right?
So that's what I, I approach it from that angle.
I get rid of this stuff just so when people touch it
or things happen, it's not gonna be damaged
by the time spring comes around.
Yeah, that makes sense.
I, of course, have several more comments
that popped up here in the time we've been talking.
Steve says, well, I enjoyed the time.
Thank you, Steve.
Appreciate you.
Thank you.
Speaking of appreciation, Eddington says he appreciates us,
and they have a fantastic weekend.
Thank you, Eddington.
Well, thank you.
And then Han's here wondering,
guy with the dragon tattoo,
who is laying in that Honda trunk, though?
I don't know, there is a body back there.
We don't know who it is.
It's Halloween, and we're not really asking questions.
Yeah, it could be related.
I'm not totally sure.
It does look a little sus.
Sydney was saying iron buster should be used
after claying in a recent video I saw.
I wonder if she misspoke, or if she has more to add.
Or am I missing something?
What do you think?
I'm sorry, I missed it.
What'd she say?
Uh, there you go.
Iron buster should be used after claying.
You can.
I mean, it's not gonna hurt.
It can really do either or.
I mean, the point here is that, basically,
if you can clay and remove physical contaminants,
then maybe you have a better shot at removing
what's left over from the iron fallout, right?
You know, it's kind of like you're cutting the head off the,
you know, one of the heads off of Medusa,
you're revealing the neck,
and then maybe that will make it easier for, you know,
I'm using a Halloween reference here.
It sounds more like you're talking about the hydra, but...
Oh, sorry.
Sorry.
Yeah, sorry.
I mean, yes, mythologically,
so you cut off the head of the hydra.
Yeah.
And then that way you can get to the neck
to prevent it from growing back.
I mean, yeah.
Is that an analogy?
Well, hydra has multiple heads.
That's how a hydra works.
Okay, you're going after all the heads.
The whole point is you take off the head of Medusa,
then you don't have to worry about her coming back.
Who knows?
I'm losing it.
There's only a minute left here.
Awesome, guys.
Spray and pray.
Going to be my go-to, I think.
Nice, man.
Yeah, no, nothing wrong with that.
Love it.
Then we got David Boyce.
Carson will, oh, in our decon soap,
help with salt accumulation and rust inhibitors effect
during the winter season.
Thank you, Dane.
I'm going to actually toss that back to Anthony
because Anthony knows more about decon than I do.
But I would assume so, yes.
But Anthony, can you finish that out?
I actually don't know.
I don't know what all is in touchless outside
of essentially being more of a touchless based,
I don't know if it's rust inhibitors
and essentially I don't really know, to be honest.
I think I've heard Dr. G say something of that nature,
but I don't remember exactly what was all included.
I can confirm, though, that the off-road wash from PNS
does have rust inhibitors.
You do know that.
Wide open does have rust inhibitors.
Yeah, and beautiful.
Right on time here, Joey Bielinski is saying
hot head talk to finish the show.
Yes, indeed it is.
And that is four o'clock.
So that is our time.
Carson, thank you so much for doing a fantastic
inside and out detail.
Great, this is great.
And Seabass definitely deserves it.
He deserves it, he works hard.
All the videos that you guys see, Seabass edits.
So he does a great job at those.
Yeah, he's kicking butt out there.
Huge shout out to him.
We've got to keep him safe and healthy
and that's why we need to make sure
that tire's filled up before he goes.
All right, and for all of you who've been watching,
thank you so much for tuning in today.
We know it's been a minute since we were back,
so you're kind of figuring things out.
That's okay.
We'll be back again next week
and the week after that will be our Halloween special
on the 30th.
So I think you guys should look forward to that.
We've got some little plans
about what's going to happen that day.
I think you guys can look forward to that.
And you know, maybe something special happens.
Maybe somebody wins something.
Oh, did I say that?
Oh, no.
Okay, I don't know what I'm talking about.
Anyway, hit that like button.
Make sure you're subscribed to the channel
if you haven't done it already.
And we'll see you next time after the weekend.
Have a good one for the next Q&A.
See ya.
See ya.
