Episode 385 - Pierce Dominates the Dome, Donny Finds a Ride and The WoO Schedule Is Out!

I hope you're all doing well. We got Thanksgiving done. Now we got Christmas coming up. Santa Claus is coming. Santa Claus is coming. The rumble in Fort Wayne is coming. We've got some racing stuff coming this winter yet, but before we get too far, I got to say thank you to the old 10-11 team, Mr. Josh Harrison, for delivering my merchandise I bought. I don't know. May or June or something. Never crossed past to pick it up, which I said, just give it to Dwayne some time. Apparently that time was last week.

Want to pass through our provisional and I ended up a certain 20th and up 9th.

F is more like car because there's a couple guys starting on the front row,

stepped under decks and spun out in front of the whole field.

And three or four other guys either spun the Voidam or Angela bit.

And, you know, when they're starting 14 cars, 13, 14 cars and heat.

Those other guys negotiate pass that pass all those guys didn't crash.

Then they got to go all the way back to the end because of the, well,

there's multi cars.

You get your spot back.

If somebody starts on the front row and spins out in front of the field,

it's got somebody else spins the Voidam, but it should be the tail.

I mean, that is a dumbest rule.

A lot of times when you saw this, the guy in front would get half ass sideways.

I don't believe it, but then four cars behind him pile it.

It's like they didn't even get the brunt of their own mistakes.

If it wasn't a race, there wouldn't be a ton of passing cars run three wide without crashing.

Brandon Overson was another one that had the wrap and had mechanical issues and really didn't see it much.

I think it was a little rough, Joseph joiner, blue their engines set up.

Third or fourth quick.

He changed the engine and he had to change the oil system all out.

And like, so we couldn't, we couldn't change the engine.

But he goes the oil system would not happen.

And then you're behind all weekend.

Joiners said we don't have another motor.

But if it did, we probably do what Turbo did and just screw it.

So yeah, and it seems like every year there's a big shot because it's happened over to before it happened

I would suggest seeing where you're staying and mapping out the restaurants near it and what time they're open and figure out

You know, so a little bit of a west coast hit which we know they've kind of been back and forth on last few years

You know last year that was a sell and got rained out on that Saturday after Lincoln Park

So that's gonna be somewhere close to our region. Yeah, I mean if they're 17. Yeah, if they're at Lincoln Park October 16

That could be four hours from Lincoln Park, but I yeah, I bet it won't be yeah

Back to Ash weekend for two nights, so that'll be cool

PA posse 410 sprint series is now a thing

launching their own streaming service as well, but they'll have

How many are a 47 47 races 50,000 to win the championship

and most races are paying all are while they all guaranteed 6000 to win 600 start with several and paying 10 1520,000. Yeah

And it's all Pennsylvania most a lot of port oil Williams Grove and Lincoln 11 tracks 11 tracks. You got Bedford Path Valley

Baps in there grandview in there Clinton County in there bridge port sealant's Grove. So Agar's town

What bed for speed weeks in there. Yeah speed weeks but uh and it's pretty cool deal. They're not getting rid of their regular shows

But what they're doing is putting on these shows

And it's a regular series guys. There's gonna be some telemoney. Mm-hmm. And a point's fun and um

So it's basically to try to you know, Pennsylvania. There's a lot of tracks that race on the same night

Yeah, sprint cars. So it's gonna try to hey

We got this big show tonight then everybody else is off to try to get the best cars

Um for the best money

It's kind of like

This is only like 30 years overdue kind of. Yeah, so like yeah, that's the thing with people you see

And I get it of course, you know, Pennsylvania

Those people are die hard. So I mean they go from February to November no matter what the weather

You don't see them to grandstands in most of those places like you do in Ohio

One is too hot too cold too big of a chance or rain

I mean you just don't I mean it's

And uh, I've seen the biggest complaint from the fan point is so

Now that it's uh, you know, gonna have a sanction fee for the tracks and uh pay to money in that is our ticket price going up

Or is it gonna be the same as like the $20 show or are they gonna be $25 30 which

I get that's a big concern because now let's say if they go up five bucks or ten bucks for these shows like like it's a sanctioned show

Mm-hmm like the outlaws or the all-stars or high limits now

instead of having like

15 of those shows here now. Yeah, those 15 plus 47 now yet 60

Now okay now that's not quite as affordable because it fits more than it is to get into your local show

You know, so I'm like we you know wing about doom all like we

Do you know, yeah, we we I mean tracks sell season tickets and we got a few tracks and do that here, but I mean

All of being tracks I go to 90% of them have season tickets that they sell a ton of each year. So

You know people going about every single one of their local shows like they said now if it goes up $10 a show

Yeah, you know, which is a concern that say legitimate one more is it coming from yeah

Yeah, it'll be

Before I see the tracks are kind of like well majority of them's gonna cost the same to get in because you know some of them

But you know because like some of us paying 10-15,000 in

So it needs to be the same cost to get in because some of those you paid a little more to get in

Yeah, yeah, it'll be kind of cool to see how this goes and like do you see uh

You know wiker memorial race not go to this series. Maybe pull from a high limit. Yeah

Because I know like all stars release their schedule and there's not as many

PA events on there like East Central Eastern PA events like they kind of had with Williams Grove and whatnot

And it's like that's why because they did this instead. Yeah, well, they got their

One trip to Williams Grove and yeah that this year and that's all they all stars want they know

Yeah, I mean they could book more

What I've been told by

Farmer that they could book more but he don't want it to be like the old ball stars. Yeah, go there 10 times

It'll just be you know, cool to see how this evolves this year one. I think it's great. I mean it's a great idea

This is gonna get rid of the local shows and you're like no, they're still gonna have local shows or stuff

Which I think Ohio should do. I mean

I think places like this is what's gonna survive spring car race. Yes, because

teams just can't go race

I mean, yeah

Local teams now Pennsylvania seem to have bigger budgets than the majority of the local teams now

There's some very small budget teams that could only race port oil when they race Lincoln or on

But it's harder and harder for our guys

You know in Ohio because you you know, you just see it dwindling more because of bunnies not as good as it is in Pennsylvania

um

And I think this is a step to

Making the sports survive. Yeah region and

Hopefully

Other regions will look at this and go hey

This is a lot. No, because obviously that's what I've been doing with AFCS. We talking 16 races at two shows

or two tracks. Yeah

Um, but you know this year we did almost $100,000

so

this gives it more of a region and

High on these do something like this because you're seeing less and less teams

participate and I think uh

This year I think next year will be interesting because there's a lot of spring car races

So some teams are gonna have some options

To go places and make money. It's not Pennsylvania money, but there's gonna be many options for 4,000

When 400 start on some nights where

Some tracks aren't gonna be happy because they're gonna get full fields

But drivers should be because there's gonna be a lot a lot of guys

There's some money at some places

Well, and you think of the old you know at like when you

Like us from go to Pennsylvania for a regular weekend. We'll say it's like Saturday

You got to pick you're gonna go to Lincoln. You're gonna go to Port Royal

Pencil you want to see race because it's different. Yeah, so this will help both of them get full fields

Yeah

And also now you do one of these that's gonna be the other thing is

Is gonna be too good because again if you get 40 50 cars each one of these shows

You're starting 24. What's it gonna pay for non-transers? Yeah

Because now you're taking some of them travel at a couple

I mean, that's a good thing is there's not a ton of travel because if you're located in

Pennsylvania mostly tracks are within an hour and a half two hours. Yeah, there's you know, there's couple

It's gonna be a little bit of a toe, but you're not going to those ones regularly. Right, so it's like

It'll be interesting. So I think it's a great thing. Yeah. Oh, yeah, I mean

Like I said to me, it's just kind of like

There you know, say 30 years too late like I should have had this together and

But at the time there's a lot more cars racing the sport wasn't expensive. Oh, so it's expensive and on the behalf of Ohio

Several tracks on a conference call a month or so ago

I always say trying to do the same thing, but kind of

Not making a series, but hey, we're having this race at this time

It's all play nice. Yeah, well

There's a new one not doing that and then there's something down south that

Don't care. Well, you got a warning going down there, which you can kind of see because fast guys will came out

And then the Ohio valleys

Uh, OVSEA. Yeah, and it's in the Gladiator tours gonna try to take the tracks where Hawley was too

So there's kind of a war going down south

Still, but you know if you could get to get

Everybody on the same page even like that like button county

Haggers town

Sillings grow selling grows been kind of doing that to the other tracks in that region

And the one not playing nice scheduling us there. You get them on board for some racing

You know, but you're not saying you have to do it every race that get them on board

Like hey, here's your couple shows. You don't have you know

Yeah, especially a ceilings grow where you're not racing four tens every weekend right

And you could do the same thing Ohio because some of these tracks only have one or two

Orten shows like the fast guys who came out you see skylines got a race there. That's always been wild Valley

And obviously

If you've seen anything from last winter, Ohio, not like promoter that goes postal like he does 90% of the time went postal on the

track owner and car show from all things because

Um, yeah, I'm helping him out. He made a big Facebook post on marketing director

He's been selling stuff. I'm trying to sell some stuff. I sold a few things uh

It's really cheap marketing really. I mean

Like he's got I think uh

You can sponsor a class for like 250 bucks. I think I think there's just cheapest 50 bucks

So that's anything to try to get you know more money into it and help help them out

Uh, you don't keep it going. I know uh, yeah a lot of people

said there's a lot of potential there

Because they brought it back for the first time in quite a while and they just joined

up with the rumble and

Allair is going to do at least uh show or two in the hog barn again because they're doing a triple crown series. Uh, the rumble

Um, Marion and one of them

At uh, the hog barn. They're gonna have special points fun and everything for those three races. Gotcha. So yeah

Yeah, so yeah, Marion should be good. I've never been there. So uh, I'll probably check it out. Yeah, for sure

That'll do it for us and or

But he uh Devon Shields has got some snowmobiles to repair when he gets uh back from snowmobiling this weekend

So the crash them well

Got a little crash got lost had to go to a house to find gas and the one so it was quite the uh quite the uh

Right the adventure it sounds like the hack everyone's phones were dying no more GPS got lost and then you know

This is the first trip up there braiding the big blue dozer shields decides he knows better takes off

Gets lost from everyone else and yeah sounds like a fun trip lots of I told Devon I go and just tell him

It's like the races where if you can load it up in one piece. It's considered a good weekend

You know, but uh when you let the younger guys take the reins apparently. It's not how it works. So

Yeah, so uh lots of fun to be head in the winter needless to say so hopefully I'm out there is enjoying it safely

My friends and shields racing

Yeah, I own the cars. I don't own the snowmobiles. I can't be held responsible put it that way

So maybe you should be yeah, yeah, Mickey Mouse operation they got going on out

The hack anyway

With the hire for a crew chief. We'll be back
