Episode 388 - Chili Bowl Recap and New Listeners

Hello, everybody. Hi. Welcome back to another episode of the nerds of podcast. We're back

to Wayne's back. Yes, he's back. All the way over here. Oh, I sound like you know. That was a

good one. I sound like you made it all the way over to my small town with you know, negative

degree wind chills and blowing and drifting snow everywhere. I had to use my dry slick set up in

a few spots on the way here. Yeah, it's yeah, we're expecting some really slick spots in between

striker and archbowl here. Oh, yeah. It's like whoa. Yeah, I drove there to work this morning and

then because I was in striker and then I had lunchtime. I was like, what in the hell happened?

It's just blowing drifting snow. We're expecting 20 negative 20 degree wind chills tomorrow morning

with 40 mile an hour wind gust. So it's a great day to be in Ohio. I need us to say hope. Hope

y'all out there staying warm. Yeah, where's my beer and stuff? I mean last Monday, LA I was

sitting in 71 degree weather drinking. Yeah. Yeah, you come over to get a couple water and it's

20 degrees. What the hell? That's right. And I get to see your ugly face. It's fricking 70 degrees

in Oklahoma in January. That's pretty wild. 74 of the second day I was sitting outside eating

smoke smoke barbecue place right on the river walks on outside picnic table. Yeah, it's crazy.

Then I got I say by the time you left it was in the 20s, but you're inside. No, no rain outs or

snow outs, right? That's right. That's why Bradley Winkle couldn't go. The Winkle Dinkle probably

Um, many things happened in the past week, a couple of weeks since we've talked.

There has been. But one, I want to talk to you. Talk about first off. Yes. Pittsburgh Steelers.

They played as about as well as I thought they would in the Mike Tomlin era in the playoff game.

You know, the king of the regular season record that has the one of the worst playoff records as

a coach and I showed, I don't know why you can't adjust. I mean, dude, they couldn't adjust the game.

It's like, okay, in this game, you did this and this and it really worked.

Why don't we run that this game? Yeah. Well, then all the experts, including me on the couch,

said, how are you going to beat these guys? You're gonna throw a fryer move.

And I mean, I don't know if you changed Jersey numbers or what, but I think they threw it to him

twice. Uh-huh. So it's everybody but him kind of. Yes. Yes. Yeah. So throw the Valdez scantlin that's

been watched up by 12 teams in the last, you know, 10 years. I mean, we'll give it to him 20 times.

I think he had nine targets and caught three, but yeah, he's going to get you there. Well,

I guess my question for you is, are you at least still a fan? Oh yeah. Yeah. They fired the coach

the next day. Finally. Good. After, well, I think it should have been and, and you know, and you get

people and even some players like a Tomlin's not, not the answer, but then you hear an old player

saying, you know, he could get you fired up, but he can't teach you or, you know, he sees a,

there's 50 50 and I mean, great. He's great for regular seasons, but last I knew you played the

game to win championships. Yeah. Especially on the Steelers organization. Yeah. So, uh, you know,

and that's just something he wasn't good at. And I ain't saying, you know,

who's terrible. I mean, Terry Bradshaw, they asked him and he was like, he's a big cheerleader.

That's all he is. You know, and there's some former players that say that, then there's some players

that are like, it sucks. Shut up. Don't be talking shit about him. Like TJ Watt and some of them.

Well, it's not like TJ was pretty pissed at him, but some other ones are, so I don't know. But

anyways, I honestly think he is probably the most overrated coach in my book and I get people

give me shit all the time. Oh, he's great. We'd take him in Cleveland or we'd take him here. We

would. Yeah. You'd have regular season wins, but we're not used to that. So that's a step in the

right direction. That would be a step in the right direction. Well, I asked because I was actually

doing some shopping and I said, you know, I haven't gotten to Wayne at Christmas present. Oh God. So,

Oh, no. Oh, I am. I got a, uh, I got something out there and awesome. So I got to win a new

Pittsburgh Steelers hat. It is. Look at that. It is the, that's what they wear on the sidelines

and shit this year. Side line one. Yeah. So, um, don't worry. I brought a bought a Cleveland

Browns one too for me, but, uh, I will, uh, admit there was a sale going on. I found the Browns

one and I saw that Steelers one. I was like, all right, I got to get in that. So you went to

the thrush shops, are you saying? No, brand new, brand new. It's got stickers on it and everything

for you. But, uh, yeah, I was hoping you'd still be a fan at least. Oh yeah. And I was worried. I'm

too stupid not to be. Well, I'm a Browns fan. I know how that goes, but I was worried you already

had it too. So no, okay. I don't because they're a little different looking. It is. I actually

looked at that here a while back and it's like, that's pretty cool. And just didn't pull the trigger.

Yeah. Well, good thing you didn't. So that's right. I got you one instead. Thanks, Elliott. Yeah,

you're all right. Make sure you get that piece of shit out of my house when you leave. So I

don't have to have it here anymore. But, uh, yeah, I wonder what, why your house smelled better

tonight. Yeah. Yeah, not for much longer, hopefully. Yeah, that was that, uh, Browns hat,

that, and then, uh, my father-in-law was a Dodgers fan. So there was a LA Dodgers 1988 World Series

hat. I got, uh, we went to a mall, which most people listening product, what's so special about

a mall? But if you're out where we live, there really isn't any anymore. So we wanted to go to

like a mall that actually had stores still in it and was still semi-popular. So we went up to

Toledo a couple of Saturdays ago and that was one of our finds. So there you go. Yeah. Well,

I had to take back to some of those things I said about, you know, toss with people and they're

like, where's Elliot? Nah, I did have, uh, I cheated on you while I was out there. Um, Bobby

from trading sliders, uh, podcast, big dirt nerds fan asked me to be a guest on his show.

And he asked me, I think it was actually during the podcast. So you might have to listen. They

asked me, well, why does Elliot really not go to races? And I'm like, well, he's into baking and,

you know, that type of stuff, you know, don't really like races. Exactly. So he always

blames his wife. Yeah. Yeah. It's a good excuse. It works every time. So you met my wife, you would

know not to question her. She's mean. She'll get you if you're not careful. So, uh, yeah. So

Bobby had me on and I think it's going to be up this week or so. He said he's going to tag,

tag us and me in it. And, uh, we just bullshitted in the parking lot. And, you know, it's a typical

Dwayne story. He's like, Hey, I got it. Then I get, I get this message. He calls me on, uh,

um, Facebook messenger. Yeah. You want to come out to this black SUV in the back in the corner?

Like, Oh, this is kind of like the, you know, Dwayne's camping. You know, like,

Hey, no, no, no worries. And it's funny because John Ivy and his girlfriend AJ and Melissa,

you know, are something they're like, do you want to drop us a pen or something? What happens?

You come missing like guys from Kentucky, you know, safe word or something. Yeah. Yeah. So

trading sliders podcast. Yes. If we're tagged in it, uh, the dirtners page tagged in, I'll be

sure to share it on our social media. So, uh, he says he's always enjoyed dirt nerds and listens to

us and just, well, we did. He's, he's probably feeding you a line of shit on the podcast. I

think so. He could have done a lot better. There's, you know, 12,000 people there and 400 drivers

and he picked me. So, you know, he's desperate for help or entertainment. You know, I mean,

he knew he'd be cheap. So seems pretty cool guy. I mean, we actually seen each other several

times afterwards, but he travels, he went, uh, you know, he makes around a hundred races a year

too. And he says, there's not too many of us people dumb enough or smart enough or whatever,

however way you want to look at it to do it and still work full time and, uh, have his wife

supporting big time. He says, it's like, you know, Melissa does with me on going and stuff. He says,

it's cool that they do it. He goes, that's another thing. He goes, they do it together. And he says,

kind of thought that it's cool that, you know, because, you know, we, like, it sounds like they

do kind of like Melissa. I do like they see a place they want to stop, they stop or eat at

local places just to get the experience instead of, you know, chains and stuff like we do. And so

yeah, we actually had pretty cool talk. Yeah. And you were talking about your chili bowl trip,

but you said you met some dirt nerds fans and then even got a sticker on the beer guys cooler.

Yeah. We got some new dirt nerds fans. Uh, give a shout out to, uh, my new friends from California,

D, big Steve, uh, Pops, uh, let's say D's, uh, Pops is D's dad and D's brother. I never did catch

his name, uh, or that could be D's dad and, uh, Pops could be his grandpa. They went on a baseball

trip a couple of years ago. They do a baseball trip every year. They went to New York, Boston,

that his brother's only two years older than him. And somebody's like, oh, it's neat. You brought

your dad and your grandpa to a baseball game. His brother's like, I'm only two years older than

him. Like, no, you're not. But, uh, then, um, yeah, but, uh, D, uh, Pops, uh, big Steve, then I don't

know the brother's name, but they're cool from Bakersfield and then, uh, Cooper's propane.

Yeah. Now I was told as the best in Curtin County, California. I was told as the best

wisps of the Mississippi. I heard as the best in California, but I just heard as a propane thing.

So, you know, there's all given me my little shit. So, of course, their first time at Chilli

Bowl, it was D's 40th birthday outing. So, um, uh, they messed with some midgets. They've, uh, actually

as D's first, um, his brother, I think, worked on a midget Chilli Bowl. They've, uh,

worked on some midgets out in California a little bit and, uh, some racing fans and, uh,

I ain't too sure. Big Steve might have a, um, a 360 or help the 360 or something too. And, uh,

cool guys. They, they got an Airbnb and walked and bought, you know, like a case of Barrett,

Walmart every day. And so that is a good time. Yeah. That's fun. And, uh, supposed to,

supposed to listen dirt nerds on the plane on the way home yesterday. I'm going to start listening

to us. So, uh, but cool guys, uh, Bakersfield. We even talked about the music around Bakersfield

and, um, told them, uh, um, ones big time blues guys. So we told him, man, if you ever come to

Indiana, you gotta go to Slippery Noodle. And, uh, they, they're anticipating Melissa and I to be

in California in November for the budget deal. Oh, oh, the Passerville race. Yeah. And, uh,

Ventura, cause they go to, they go to turkey night every year. They're like, dude, it's awesome.

They're like, it's cold. Cause they's like, it's not as warm as what you think in California with

that breeze coming off right off the ocean. Right on the ocean. Yeah. But they're like, um,

I said, well, it can't be as cold as Chilly bull outside. So, um, but no, uh, cool people and

hopefully they're listening to school meeting you guys and, uh, we'll hopefully, uh, see in California.

Yeah. And we tried talking them into doing a baseball tour up here. Cause they tried to do one.

We told them you, you can come here cause it's talking about races. I said, you can go to Detroit.

Yeah. Uh, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati and Cincinnati and hit Attica. I was asking what

tracks I said you did Attica, Lawrence, Berg, um, Sharon. Yeah. Fremont, Sharon. I said, there's

all kinds of depending. And I said, you might catch even one during the week, depending on when

you come. Yeah. And not to mention hit Eldora. If you're, you know, minor league baseball too,

you got my hands and 10 caps and Cleveland's got Mahoning, Akron, you know, all this stuff.

Sounds like they do a pro deal cause they did like, um, they did, uh, I think St. Louis, Milwaukee

and some of those Kansas city one year. The one year that did, uh, New York, Boston.

And, um, and pops he says, he usually brings, uh, his wife along. So, uh, but they're talking

about how may we need to do that and hit some racing. And I said, that'd be perfect. I said,

you just, they might be messing these in dirt and urge page to get my contact info. I said,

go ahead, do that. Cause I said, we could plan you a trip with baseball and racing at the right

time of year. You hit some neat tracks. So, uh, we'll see. But, uh, cool people and we'll see if

they, uh, see if they listen. I mean, they are from California. I mean, there's a bunch of long

haired hippies. That's right. It's funny. They just give me a couple of them or they're like,

oh, these people, I said, yeah, so that's all right. You know, they's fun. They said Cooper's

propane, huh? I think that's what it is. I think that's what the back of the shirt said, uh, that

he had. But I know it's Curtin County, California. Pretty sure it's Cooper's Cooper's petroleum

distribution. Maybe, maybe that could be Curtin County propane. So I thought that was cool. I

said, well here, I said, I got some stickers and I even had, you know, the whistle stop and propane

one. So, uh, they all got dirt and urge stickers. The beer guy got a dirt and urge sticker. It's

cool. And suppose a big Steve and D downloaded that. Why is that the house and ready to listen? So

very cool. Let's see what happens. Uh, it's funny because they're from California Bakersfield and

New York Mets hat. And we're like, how the hell, that's kind of how the baseball thing will tell

you, you know, the Mets hat. Yeah. Yeah. Cooper's petroleum and propane possibly is that'd be the

one. I'm pretty certain. Yep. Looks like it's just outside of Bakersfield. So that would be it

because they're from Bakersfield. I wonder if they buy from my dad. You never know. I know.

I told him, I said, you know, they, they might. Yeah. Oh, but yeah, good. Cool. Got some new

file. And then how did we get the sticker on the beer man's cooler? Uh, we had stickers and he

kept coming up there. And most is like, Hey, put this on there. And he's like, okay. It's pretty,

it's pretty easy. Got him convinced. Yeah. Nice. I ran out because I was going to put one on the

sugar wall. Like there's some other ones, but I didn't. Oh, well, I'd done that for a while. Yeah.

Gonna snuck one on Emerson X and some car. I should have or Larson's bottom. No,

no, no, no. She ain't got a big spot. Yeah. There's got to go out. Her cannon magnetizes

wheel. Yeah. I was going to say, you know, that was going to get some camera time from

slinging the cannonball against somebody. Yeah. That's part of the deal. Yeah. So

Chilly ball. You're there all week. Yep. So Monday started off. Well, Sunday started practice.

She said you didn't go to practice. Nope. We were talking before you recorded and go to

practice a little bit, but we didn't. We just, we got the, I actually drove all the way through

last Saturday on Saturday, the Saturday before. We was kind of dinking around while my friends

and Joplin was actually in Dominican. So then didn't get a chance to meet up with them and all

that. So like, yeah, we just drove all the way through. So yeah, then we just took a day.

We spent a lot of the time in the casino on Sunday. Yeah.

That's the wrong with that. No, but yeah, day one, which is race champions day. So it's usually

the lightest day on cars, but 69 cars started off the week. Yes. And yeah, it was, you know,

if, if you didn't think Larson was going to win on Monday, you know, I mean, he's definitely the

favorite, but it was a good show. I mean, a race champions bell kind of surprised me because Bell

thought might be a little bit rusty, but Bell won the race champions. I don't know if you've seen

much of it. I saw some of the race of champions. Pretty good race. But then the night they, the,

you know, the night one qualifier, I mean, that's Kyle Larson's night. And it, he,

I want to say dominated because Briggs Daner kept him on a big time. He never, he never got away.

It seemed like no, and Daner gave him a shot at the, you know, at the end and tried to, but

yeah, Larson won. I don't want to say easily cause I mean, one little oops and Daner was there. I

mean, Daner was, yeah, car length away the whole race. So it wasn't like it was a give me by any

means, but a good race and a local guy for us. Thanks for not making me look stupid because,

you know, when we did our preview, I said, one of the guys I said, could be on the underdog

list to do really well, Jacob Boxle from Zanesville, Indiana, just south of the Fort Wayne airport.

One is qualifier and finished ninth in the AMA. Looks very well for, you know, a DQ. And

it's a kid that, you know, at the rumble started from the kid carts, the recorder midgets,

you know, racing full midgets in there now and somebody's come up through the D twos and

helped Matt Westfall a lot in his life, working on his cars and that. And now I've got an

opportunity with the four Kings led by Matt Westfall's, you know, how many his dad and that

are the main, main wrenches and keep the team and part owners of the team. And

um, was turning some heads on Monday night for sure. Got a pretty good, pretty good

start to his chilly bowl. Um, yeah. Larson first, Dan or second, Ken and Mackintosh third.

Yeah. And Ken was up there and kind of him and Dan or surprise Dan or didn't go for a flip,

but he didn't. Yeah. Yeah. But yeah. And you know, Joe B Miller was back there. Gary Taylor,

Jerry Coons, Jr. Start fifth, finish fifth, Justin Peck, um, Tanner Carrick. So, uh, pretty

good feel to cars like, like we, you know, come to know, but uh, yeah, lighter, lighter night and

Larson getting the win again, which, you know, not many surprised by that one. We'll say no,

not at all. And Jerry Coons, Jr. His guy had what, how many ever year streak are making the

main, then it kind of had terrible walk the last few years, uh, put a very solid night together.

So it's cool to see Jerry that that's about the only time he runs a midget Harley.

Yeah. And he's always pretty strong in them too. Yeah. So, uh, good job for Jerry.

Yeah. So moving on to Tuesday night, uh, you know, kind of what we like to see. We want to see

some of those first time winner types and, uh, guy who's been trying for a very long time and

his grandpa's the one that, uh, started the chili bowl, uh, Blake Hahn getting the one from

eighth on Tuesday night with Hank Davis, freaking, you know, tried and true Hank Davis at the

chili bowl. There's one thing you can plan on. Two oaks, two local oaks, uh, shooting it out.

And, uh, yeah. And, uh, another impressive deal, uh, somebody that we said could be on the radar.

And I think even bypassed his car owners expectations, like he said, he says,

I thought he could do it, but I just didn't think he could, you know,

everything had to fall right. But, uh, 14 year old Jet Barnes driving for Kevin Soondale, uh,

I, I look like the real deal. I mean, he had that thing hooked up and, uh, well, it was funny

because like some of the, the flow guys were talking to like, is he nervous? Is he not?

Like, he don't even know he's supposed to be nervous. Yeah.

Might be as to his advantage. Yeah. Not really have the experience because he doesn't know what

he doesn't know. Yes. And, uh, um, but yeah, young Jet Barnes, uh, put on a, uh, heck of a show,

made a lot of fans. Um, Zach Dom started on the pole and it up fourth in the bondio car. Yeah.

Well, that one hadn't been there in a couple of years. No, it hadn't. And Zach is a guy that's

hasn't had a ton of chili bowl luck either. Yes. So, I mean, he's had a couple of good runs, but, uh,

more for not, his chili bowl usually has some bad luck. Yeah. Uh, Gavin Bachel and, uh,

the Kyle Bush 51 start 24th, finished eighth. I know he started his night off a little rough.

Yeah. And he hasn't been in a midget for a few years. Yeah. And he was one of those

youngster names we heard coming from the shootout years ago. Yep. And I haven't heard much of him

lately. So no, well, he's doing the net or the stock car deal. I was going to say, I think he's

into that a lot of the pavement, uh, kind of, I know he races against Jade sometimes that that

kind of the whatever pavement cars or whatever it is series or whatever it is. And, uh,

Ryan Timbs finished 11th, started six. He was one that, you know, in a Coons car expected to

be pretty strong on the weekend. Beeson started 20th, Tuesday night, finished 12th, obviously

has his moments out there. Well, he came from the D main. Yes. He flipped on the first lap

of the heat race. That's right. Yep. Went from tail of the D, uh, from tail of C to the B,

tail of B to the A, yep. And, uh, tail of A to 14th. So he passed a lot of cars. Yes. Yes, he did.

So, uh, Ricky Thornton Jr. making the feature, uh, started 13th, finished 17th, ended up coming

back Saturday, but, uh, didn't have much luck on the rest of the week. Uh, Ty Gibbs making the feature

looked very impressive. He looked good all night. Uh, Parker Price Miller as well,

just gone through some names here. Sheldon Creed. Sheldon Creed. Yes. Won the B main,

which he was impressive for not being in midget. He actually looked very racing. He was almost

too confident because it looked like, dude, he got more and more confident and he was like,

it's like, he's going to, he's going to flip his dick off. But he didn't. Yeah, kept pretty good.

So, Zach, while I go from Ohio, won the other B and got 13th, the guy we see all the time in the

D2s, um, actually put together a fairly decent run. Yeah. Um, come Wednesday night. Sorry,

going through it here. Who was the winner? Emerson Axelstuh, uh, uh, was the winner on Wednesday

night. And Jason Persley had a good battle. Yes. That's right. Colby Copeland, your third place

car team as fourth. KTJ was fifth, but Corey J, Corey J, Corey Day, Mitchell Moles, Tim Buckwalter,

Jake Newman, Kale Drake, lots of good cars in this one. Austin Torgelson. Um, yeah,

pretty stout night for that was the night that, uh, uh, Sammy made about a lap and a half.

Yes. And, uh, took a hell of a flip for a seven year old guy. Yes. Yes, that was one of the

gnarliest chili bull flips I seen down in the front stretch in a while. But, uh, and it was

like by himself too, right? It was just up in the wall and yeah, he was, and I think I, I know

he was frustrated because he, he started back past a couple of cars and it was, he was getting beat

around, getting beat around. He just got knocked out of the, the groove going in turn three. So,

he dropped, lost a couple of spots and I think, uh, he got on the throttle trying to get back into

it. And I just, yeah, I got up in the wall and he just got, I see some people has given him

shit because then he's interviewed. He's like, well, I was getting box around what she was.

He got box going in turn three, knocked him, you know, over the cushion and he's just trying to

get back into rhythm and just, I don't know, misjudged it or just the track. I mean, I mean,

it was juiced a couple of nights where there's a lot of guys bicycling.

The cushion got treacherous. Yes. And I think, uh, he just got on the power in the wrong spot and

I think it just whipped him because it, and he wasn't the only one that didn't get that too.

Yeah. Yeah. It was a common theme it seemed like for sure. Yeah. It was, uh, it was definitely, uh,

I don't know, I thought it was a great race and every night, I mean, every A main came down to

basically the last lap. I mean, um, it wasn't, there was no give me whatsoever.

Yeah. Come to, uh, Thursday night, right? Am I Thursday? Yep. We got up to 82 cars now.

And, uh, Christopher Bell starting eighth place, got the win over CJ Leary,

someone we had talked about whose luck seems to be on the bedside when it comes to chili ball,

finishing second, locking into the A main, uh, Ryan Bernal, who started off a little rough

on the weekend. I believe he flipped in practice on Sunday. Pretty hard.

Uh, finished third on Thursday night. Yep. Uh, but it's a basin was forth coming this fifth.

Yep. Thorson in there, Wyndham, Carter Sarf, Jacob Danny, Ashton Torgelson, Frank Flood, Brady

Bacon. Yeah. Joel Myers Jr. Pretty, uh, pretty packed, uh, Caleb Henry made the A saw that.

Yep. Talk to him. He's so funny. We did, we didn't see practice, but we talked to him. We seen him

there was on break. So, uh, he actually came out and seen us a Sunday while we was there and talked

to us a little bit. And he, he's just, he's so funny. Yeah. Well, we'll just leave it at that.

I might offend some people if I say what he said, you know, I don't want to go, you know,

you know, we see a lot of people's feelings got hurt the last few days from interviews and stuff.

Yeah. You want to go all Jonathan Devon pointing out. Yeah. A little too edgy, but basically

he's like, yeah, I'm from California, but not that side of California as a comment of life.

It was funny. It was, it was like a boy, Caleb. And another thing, uh, which I know, uh, you can

relate to this, uh, something happened for one of our local teams did really, really good

making the A main for the first time ever a Kyle Heitmeier car.

Heitmeier concrete with Kyle Simon, uh, started last in the C or from the C

transferred from the C started last in the B cause he got the last transfer in the,

I think the C started 14th, uh, in the B got up fourth, got the final transfer spot. So I'll

put the Heitmeier concrete car. I think he's been going Heitmeier cause he had Kyle Simon

and Luke Hall this year. I think he's been going almost 10 years now, eight, 10 years and, uh,

I've, they've been close. They've been really close before, but finally got a car in the

A main on qualifying night. Yeah. They just sit across the aisle from us. So, uh,

very happy. You know, Kyle's a great guy. Um, um, you know, helps not only has cars,

he takes the chili bowl has some D two midges, but, uh, sponsors the sport in several different

ways. Yeah. I know he helped out like a mill stream when, uh, uh, hammers were running it and

put some concrete in for him and stuff, all donated. So yeah. Um, yeah.

Great to see part of racer and yeah, good. You see, uh, based out of Findlay, Ohio,

yeah, or our local, uh, teams, uh, put her in the A main on Thursday night.

Yeah. It's crazy because it kind of sucks. You know, making the A main on prelim nights hard.

Yeah. It's like, if you're not in the top two, you know, you can run 20th in the A main and

be in the E on Saturday. Yeah. This kind of sucks. It's like, yeah, it seems like

yeah, we made the main. Oh, shit. We start 18th and the E on Saturday.

He's finished 10th. It still doesn't help you that much on Saturday, but I mean,

uh, there was a record. We had 406 ended up being, uh, uh, entered and the old record

of hitting the track is 381. Yeah. But once we get to Friday, we talk about, oh, and Abby

Holbein was making her first, uh, chili bowl nationals. Uh, she kind of had a rough one

and a 10th and the C on Thursday and qualified. Yeah. But going to Friday, uh, Logan CV night,

it seems like it's become 83 cars, what made the record 387 hit the track. Yes.

Oh, they was, uh, I mean, they was slighting each other. They was, I mean, it was, it was a hell

of a show. Not the, not the Justin Grant racing you're normally seeing. Uh, no, no, I, I thought

for sure Grant was going to take him out. There's a couple of times he might try, but yeah, I know

feature time on Saturday. It got a little closer, but yes, ended up everyone. Let's just say Grant

wasn't the one you had to worry about. Uh, but they ended up upside down. Yes, he did. Uh,

but didn't take anyone else with him. Uh, but Darren Pittman, the, uh, yes, you know, old steady.

I shouldn't say old, but a long time steady driver who hasn't really driven much. Uh, not always

strong at the chili bowl as owner of ultra shield products. Yes. Finish third. Uh, while Hoffman

from Denmark or another one, another one's. Yes. Another one's, um, cause it's, um,

New Brunswick is the state or whatever. Yes. Or the town or yeah. But anyway, finished fourth

in this prelim night, but ended up making the feature on Saturday. Good for him. Yes. Uh,

Geo sells Eve fifth, uh, Jesse live sixth, eighth, McCarthy, Hayden, Reinbold, Ronnie Gardner,

uh, Matt West falls in the field, Mario Clouser, Mason Hanigan, making it a trip over, uh,

yes, did really well. One second, he's heat and one qualifier. Gavin Miller and Steven Snyder Jr.

Uh, who after that wreck was done for the weekend, but

psych actually not done for the weekend. They hustled and I mean, they had,

he got screwed. It was just a nothing of his own fault. Yeah. And I actually thought

Gaten Miller and Grant got into it, but that was all Miller. Yeah. That was all Miller,

which, uh, he ended up in the hospital. Oh. Yeah. Him and, uh, uh, Creed, Sheldon Creed,

both are not Sheldon Creed. Sorry, Jesse love, cause Jesse love come charging from the back

and ended up six, but got over somebody at the start, finish line and flipped bad. Well, then

he was done. Yeah. Two with, uh, yeah, Gavin Miller. They, well, it was funny. It wasn't funny,

but we went to leave and they're like calling for medics and they had two ambulances backed up

the door and they said, we, and I, I wonder if that's a, and drivers bet. Well, then find out

we get back. Yeah. It was love and Miller and, uh, Miller sound like they thought maybe Miller

broke his ankle, but he didn't. So, but Steven Snyder Jr.'s car, man, that had down tubes are

twisted and it was a mess. Yeah. And they, they worked their ass off. They was cutting, doing

our thing to get it back out there for Saturday. And it's just a victim of circumstance. It wasn't

anything. I mean, he just in the very wrong place at the time that Miller was landing on the track.

Yeah. Total bummer there, but yes, for sure. That rounds out the prelim nights. It goes into

Saturday's long time tradition of the alphabet soup leading up to the A to finish the night.

Yeah. Let me see. I don't know how to go through the results necessarily, but we know there's two

names that stuck out on the day. Dude, that was awesome. Guys that raced for plus or minus six

hours on the day because they transferred through nine, uh, features. One of them, a local guy,

Darren Knight, uh, from Adrian, Michigan, just up the road. And, uh, the other one was, uh, Leopard.

What's for Mac Leopard? Mac Leopard. 16 year old kid from, uh, Beaver Creek, Ohio. Okay. He's Ohio

guy too. Yep. Uh, he was, uh, driving for a boat. He raced most of the season for them. Okay. And, uh,

you know, uh, Darren Knight is a one off deal for Binks and had, uh, uh, three cylinder and Cody

Swanson, I believe as a driver coach. Yep. And Jason McDougal was a crew chief. Um, and the best

thing. So each had kind of had their own, uh, uniqueness. So Darren was first, he was in one,

uh, before Leopard. Well, then they got in the same one and they was in the same one because there's

one and two, like A or, you know, uh, P one and two. And so they was in the same one. So they

was following each other through it all. And as after like the, I'll say a third or fourth one,

the front motor, the, the bolt broke holding the motor into the car. Basically on night is

they had a ratchet strap holding the, around the car, uh, holding the engine in. Nice. Um,

so, you know, uh, Darren didn't beat the cushion a few laps because I like, you know,

and that's where he was running a lot. And one of them, he spun out or got involved in an instant

and go to the tail after a couple laps were in yet to boot and made up there. Well then,

uh, you know, so he was the first one to do it, then, uh, didn't make it. Then Leopard,

what, uh, made his, uh, little special too is he won four of the nine. Yes. The most

than anybody's ever won in one day, but he won four of them and they both set the record. The

record was seven. Uh, neither one was born when the record was set. Yeah. And it made it. And

the announcers did good at pumping it up and man, it started to get where, uh, they'd pull out on

track and the crowd would go nuts. So people are standing up waving their coats or their hats

or jackets and just, you know, getting them going. And, um, it was awesome. It was the best Saturday

morning chili bowl I've ever seen. Cause not only did you have them, you know, usually you get,

like I say, you get one guy that might do five or six, but, you know, add one guy did seven.

Um, but you know, you'll get a lot of times though, diet three or four. Well there was,

you know, these two doing nine tied for the record. Um, then they had, uh, a thing for a

memorial for a big Al guy and I get it max, a Mack leopard one, four of the nine, which that's,

that's pretty special. Um, but night I had that special trick three cylinder engine and had a

ratchet strap in there and went through nine of them too. Well they raised $3,000 for the best

performance of the morning and leopard got it all. I, I honestly thought they should have split

it. Yeah. I mean, cause, uh, you know, and leopards race amidst all season there, races

of midget one time a year. Yeah. For the last couple of years. So, uh, but it was very cool.

But then you had, I mean, like I said, you should have two or three guys. I mean, you had several

going three, four. There is a couple that did five couple that did six. I think there's one that

did seven. I mean, there was, and that's even the announcer's like, this is the best Saturday

morning ever. Cause you know, usually you have one or two to watch. There was, I think, literally

12, 13 guys that's done that was in malls. A full fruit. She went through one to three.

You know, I mean, so there was a, it was a segment and the track,

the only guy to give it to the track, track crew too. Cause like it was

passable. Sometimes on some of those Saturday mornings, they just dump the water on it and

just let it go. And it's, they don't touch it. And, uh, but it was very racy. Cause you know,

these guys are starting 16, 15 every race and going to go through nine of them. So, uh,

Kudos Darren. Um, but this is what, you know, people's like, Oh, I mean, why do you go to the

soup right there? Cause now Darren Knight and Mack Lepper, the household names, they're going to

sell shirts. Um, hopefully it'll help them get some sponsors. Cause like Darren, they interviewed

him on the one that was like, what do you think he goes? I want to know how many I gotta go through

that I can get a full time ride and something. Cause you know, you know, they got their family

owned team for the sprint car and they're, I don't know what they're going to do for sure,

depending on funding this year. Cause you know, they did the all star thing last year and

uh, I don't know if some of their sponsors aren't coming back or what, but don't know if

they're going to be able to do that with funding and that, you know, he's one of the

FCS races past year. He's won a Butler, uh, ran great with the all stars, ran great, you know,

many places. So, uh, um, he's like, what do I do to get a full time ride? Yeah. Hopefully one of

these daddies, uh, that's put their kid in the car that crashes in like P main every night.

Yeah. Put some money into a real driver. Yeah.

A crash in the, in the prelim night and crash in their, uh, J main.

There's a couple of guys on the flip list three times for the week. Yeah.

What was the flip list that would end up? I think, I think it was 73 or four. I want to say

there's some nasty ones, man. There's some of them. There's, you know, it's like your

couple of Tommy tip over deals, but then there are some nasty ones too. Yeah, for sure. But uh,

yeah, it was, I mean, Saturday morning was awesome because there was several cars,

just not one or two. There were several making past, but when you got two, uh, young kids,

I mean, leopard just turned 16, you know, on night is about 18 now. And, uh, um, with not,

neither one with a huge amount of midget experience. Um, it was really cool to see.

Yeah. And then your B mains, I took seven. We talked to Jacob box. So he finished eighth

in his B main. Yeah. Cause he, uh, went through C,

started 16th in the B main. Yeah. And missed it by one, which that was,

those B mains are all, you had Ryan Tim's miss the A main, which he was one of the

pre favorites to win the whole damn thing. Yeah. Well, like we talked, Jacob Denney was one of

the, you highlighted he again, DNF in the B main, Corey day DNF in the B main team as was back

to JJ Gio, uh, Jerry Coons Jr, Chris Windham, Zach Dom, you know, like crazy that, uh,

so many people, uh, miss out on Mitchell moles. Obviously, you know, had a lot of seat time,

Tanner Carrick, uh, Hayden Reinbold, Carter Sarf, all not making the show. So, um, yeah,

box will dig great. I mean, fell one shot spot short, but, uh, did good. Yeah. It's a good, uh,

good, uh, way to, you know, Hey, do the best you can at least, right? Yeah. It's cool doing it

with a Westfall team as well. Yeah. Uh, then we go to a main, the little track work, little prep,

do some driver intros, uh, and then, uh, the big show 55 laps this year. Would you think of that

change? Oh, it was 55 for a while and you know, they went back for you. I thought it was, I like

it 55 and they changed the tires. I know sometimes the track rubbered up a little bit, rubbered up

a few times, but I feel like this year was, I mean, it was pretty top dominant, but other years

it's bottom dominant. Yes. Well, they, uh, at least this opened it up for sliders and smaller

things. Yeah. And they changed, you know, they got that different tire now too, or it makes it

different too for them. You know, they've seen last year when they went to 40 that that tire would

work well enough to, uh, or they can do 55 again, because it pays a lot of money. Yeah. Yeah. It's

Larson and acts them on the front row. The pole shuffle Larson always drives the front. I don't

know how he does it every year. He pulls one or two or he's guaranteed the front row. I'd love to

see it where he gets a 10 or 12 or 10 or whatever it is some, some 10. Pole shuffle this year didn't

have as much excitement as past years. No. Only a roll. The track was gnarly. They had that

discussion. I mean, you got to junk your shit real easy. A couple guys bought it. Yes. They

bike pretty hard. Yes. Uh, but usually, you know, you look for that, you know, if you're in the first

group, you're trying to get to the ninth group. Yeah. Some guys can make up quite a bit of ground

on their starting spot, but a spot or two who was here and there, and that was about it this year.

But like Dwayne said, Larson drew the one. So he was automatically on the front row in the

front row. No matter what. And then Emerson axum was on. He drew the two. I'm guessing. Yeah,

the two. He reached up there. Yeah. He started three. So yeah, he had to win his, his pole

shuffle. Then he went to the one against Larson and obviously finished second time second.

But starting the front row. But what, how many laps did Larson took? Axum took lead on lap five

with a huge slider and they talked to him about it. And he's like, you know what? He says,

one, he goes, uh, it's a chili bowl and I'd rather pace than have Larson pace. And he goes,

I don't care. It's a chili bowl. I never want it. And they're like, what do you think? It was aggressive.

He goes, yeah, it was aggressive, but it's a chili bowl. And I, I felt we would be better

pacing the field instead of following. So he made a hell of a move. And then, uh, yeah,

they're sitting there battling. They had a great battle and never Larson never really left his

bumper. And, uh, which was kind of a bad thing about halfway through the race. Cause, um, I think

it was a moving pick. Yes. Who in the hell was it? Uh, I want to say Fesennel, but it wasn't Fesennel.

I can't remember. I watched it, but blew up, blew a front tire and, uh,

right in front of Larson accident got by him and Larson clipped these bumper and, uh, did a

rollover. Um, and much of the people shocked because they got a work area, which now they give them

a few minutes and they sit there and it must have been the axles. All I can, I didn't see it good

enough, but they brought him in there and they had a bunch of front end parts and, uh, it wasn't

30 seconds in there and they're like up the ramp. Yeah. Yeah. Watching on flow. It was like, I,

yeah, I was like, oh, change the front end. They'll be back out and something else must have,

you couldn't tell on camera what it was, but Jesus Christ, you're an animal. Um, yeah, you

couldn't tell what it was necessarily and they just waved them up and said, all right, we're done.

Yup. So, uh, uh, shocking to everyone and everybody thought, well, here comes Christopher Bell

because the night bell one, we, we didn't talk about a whole lot, but he didn't look like a,

I mean, he looked like a fourth or fifth place car the whole time and they had a couple, uh,

yellows and I, and I don't know personally for sure that a lot of them got in, in cockpit

adjusters. I think he dialed that car in during one of the yellows cause man, I mean, I mean, he

was there. He's a top five car, but he wasn't a winning car the night he won. Then all of a sudden

it just bam with the, I mean, like he dialed it in. Well, I think Saturday might have been the

opposite because he was same deal. He was just kind of there. He just hit running and like fifth

and then he dialed a little bit on the one, uh, restart and I think he dropped the eighth or

ninth, you know, and, uh, so everybody thought, well, here, here's going to come bell. Well,

nope. He stayed back there in eight. He didn't. Yeah. Uh, but ironically enough,

I mean, Justin Grant was up there with Axum. Like you said, he got aggressive,

ended up on his lid. Um, yeah, they gave Axum a little crap for that, but, uh, Justin was banging

into people and, uh, I think he, uh, I don't blame him. He didn't get any, give any, uh,

yeah, it wasn't Axum. I think it was, uh, CV, wasn't it? Oh yeah. Him and CV were going pretty

hard. Yeah. It's like, uh, we know grants took several people out. So yeah. And then Tanner

was up there for a little bit. He went back, personally came into view, but never really

charged much further. Well, he kind of got screwed on that last couple restart cause, uh,

CV's car was stumbling. It sounded like it was running out of fuel and personally got a good

run. And I guess CV even talked to officials. Uh, the officials come over and talk to CV

afterwards and see me. He's like, I was just very blunt and says, I get it. You have black and

white rules, you know, but do you want them to do like Larson did stacked field up and flip?

Or do you want my car was dying and he had to pull out so he could have followed me and we

could have crashed the field or he goes, you know, like he should have got penalized.

CV was like, I don't think they should have penalized them, but he got it. I mean,

he did pass before the cone. So I get it. Um, but kind of ruin his run, but then you had guys,

well, Kyle Cummins, 23rd coming up. He is up the sixth and a flipped, but then, uh,

it came down to last lap. You didn't know who was going to win because you had

axum that dominant. I don't want to say dominated, but lead

50 laps. Yeah. And here's KTJ from 18th on the bottom. And on the last lap,

they was side by side off turn two. Yeah. KTJ was on the very bottom,

axel up high and here's Hank ripping the cushion too. Well, they went into three and four.

It looked like you could have a three wide finish and it was very, very close. I mean,

yeah. Axel would have bobbled. It would have been. Oh, KTJ almost had him off the bottom

the way it was. Yeah. You know, so, um,

KTJ from 18th to second race. He's in cars. He's known not to be that great at a race.

He's had no luck. Well, yeah, he's had terrible luck chili bull for years. He goes,

he even said it goes sometimes like, I don't even want him here. Yeah. You know, and, uh,

yeah, ran really well. So it's cool to see in all three number, number one, uh, the chili bull and,

uh, um, I would have been happy with any of the three finish and first cross finish.

All three, uh, I like all three of them and, uh, uh, you know, axel got the wind and KTJ

a very close second and Hank, Hank Davis is going to win this thing. Well, he's, he's getting close

and close and, um, you know, super cool guy and we'll see him a lot this year because he's in the

17 GP car. Yeah. Um, Jet Barnes, another name we talked about. He DNF'd, but looked pretty strong.

Yep. Um, one we got to talk about is Shane Gallipic.

Yes. He's another one that's racing up there. Uh, got up fourth and then, uh, got cannon bald.

Uh, you know, uh, yeah, you know, it can and I know he gets a lot of shit, but it's, it's, uh,

very well that he does. Cause I mean, he is not afraid to put a target on somebody and just pun

them. I mean, there's no, it's not even close. I mean, he does it so much. I mean,

did you see his post race interview? I didn't. So Ken said, yeah, he goes, it's probably my fault,

which everyone's like, okay, probably, probably, but he said, you know, I went to do the slider

and got the car two sideways before I went. So which is fine, but like you can always back

out of a slider. If you know, it's not going to be good. One, he's, that's why he's got a career

in midgets. I mean, you see these guys moving up. I mean, look how many midget guys has moved up,

like buddy, all these guys have moving up to sprints or wing sprint cars. I think that's why

Canon's not cause he's destroyed cars like that for four or five years now. It's not like he's a

rookie and it's not like it. This first time he does this several times a season. Yes. And, uh,

and Grant's not far off of it. He's about a half a slider off of it, you know, and, uh,

so you knew one of them was going to get somebody and, uh, yeah, Shane's made 13A mains. Always,

always the guy that's always ran good and always seems to get shit on because he don't,

he don't shit back. You know, I mean, and that's the thing. I mean, but you're getting some of these

guys, um, you bump them enough and get them upside down enough, but they're going to start fighting

back. That's what they're saying. The flow broadcast, you know, Shane's pretty quiet. Yep.

Not, not a shit talker. And, and, you know, you could tell he was holding back. And of course,

I still drives me nuts when the flow sticks on microphone in these faces, right on the track,

but then they tried to ask a second question. It's like, just, just walk away. But right.

Galibik handled it well, but you could tell he said, yeah, I guess that's, there's a reason they

call him cannonball, you know, and the guys in the broadcast were like, man, that's, you know,

that's, that's not like all of it to do that. Like he's, he's a pretty calm dude and you pissed

him off. So yeah, but yeah, rightfully so. I mean, he had a good, I mean, and he, he was having a

run coming up through there and you know, that was thinking there's so much drama because yeah,

Larson and Axum was bound and Larson flips and they're like, oh man, then, you know,

CV, CV and Axum almost took each other out and see him down the back stretch. Axum

dicked up and made the cross and they bumped, you know, and, but then you had Cummins coming

up there, flipped Galibik come up there, flip. Okay. Grant was up there, flipped. You know,

I mean, if any of those guys would have stayed in, it could have even been four or five cars

right there in that. But yeah, I mean, excellent racing. That's why the place is sold out every year.

Did it seem more packed this year? Yes. Okay. They're, and I get the,

never stopped selling pit, past concept, but you know, we got all door equipment now at the

big races. We've had Knoxville quit the last few year at big races. I honestly think it's

time for the chili bowl to do it because I've never seen. So if you've never been to the chili

bowl and this is true and you got to see it and I've had people like, holy shit, you're right.

People bring lawn chairs and, and so all the cars were put inside. Well, they got the pit area

roped out of the, the lane for them to come up, roped off and people still don't walk in the areas

at times. But so now in the non roped off area or in the area, the non aisle area, there's lawn

chairs all the way against these roped off areas. I mean, just packed, I mean, hundreds upon hundreds

and watching on the big screen up front. Well, you've never, you've had maybe

10, 15 people in the back doing it. Now there's hundreds back there lined up in the back. Well,

they opened the big overhead door like every 30 minutes. Like if somebody's having problems,

they only go outside and fire the car off. Well, it was logistically hard. They had people had to

start moving the chairs, roll this guy out to try to fire, roll this guy out. And then you're

trying to walk through there. You got people trying to walk through their fans to the grandstand

because they got the trade show and I get it. More trade show, more people want to be in there.

Well, something is like the Kaiser wheel one had a couch and a patio on their thing in the walkway

that's already narrow. And Kyle Larson's T-shirt trailers on the other side. Yeah. And you talk

about a cluster. I bet. And you're trying to funnel, you know, is already tight through the

trade show. And now you got these people that you're trying to funnel 12,000 people around

this little cow path. And it's just, there's no room. Well, then, okay, we're going to cut through

the pits and get away from that. Well, then you got to pay respect for cars. Well, now we got so

many damn chairs, even in the back of the building is harder to navigate. I mean, then

so the far wall, like where the ramp is. And so if you stand up against that ramp, you're going to

see maybe a glimpse of turn three and maybe a glimpse of the front stretch. You could, I mean,

that walkway behind that wall, there's a walkway to go to all the grandstands in the back. There

was thousands. I ain't shitting you. There had to be a thousand people wind up against that,

standing in the walkway, just a hole from the top of the ramp, all the way to the back grandstands that

stood the whole night. And then it was up. And I've never seen people in the aisles. Like so,

you know, you walk up the ramp or the steps and there's a little platform there.

Everyone, I seen it down in turn one at the end, the little pit stand. And then the first little

stand after the, the, where you go up the ramp, people are standing on those stairs and all that.

I mean, there was just, I mean, there's got to be a point. Logistically, you got to be okay.

We're squeezed. We're squeezed. And it's, and it's, you know, just like this trying to bring

the ambulances in Friday night. And they had to move all the shit around. There's got to be a

point where you're like, okay, we need to, and I get it. Okay. It's $60. And you don't want to

shut anybody out. Well, then you still got your handful of people that come in on Saturday that

don't know a race car from their ass and walk in there and try to start sitting in the reserve

seats on the stage and like, Oh, what's this past? Get you, get you a seat down the backstretch. It's

already been covered for three days. So you got to stand. Oh, what? You know, it's like,

come on. Yeah. I mean, it's, uh, don't get me wrong. I love the chili ball and all that, but they,

it's to the point they're going to have to shut off pets because, okay,

everybody sees how great the race is. What's this year? Like, Hey, we're just going to go on Saturday

and get a pipette. We're going to put people if another 500 people want to come. Yeah,

there is nowhere to put them. I mean, there really isn't. And that right there is why I don't care to

go. It's, yeah, it's, you got to really, uh, the problem is most of them are so clueless.

Walking into pits like down an aisle. Here comes cars that so instead of, okay, I'm going to go

to the right or left. I'm going to stop and get on myself. I'm going, Oh my God. Oh my God. I just

seen her, you know, Hey, Thomas, how about you move so you don't get ran over? Yeah.

Yep. You know, it's like, and the chili bowl officials do a good job. They got a lot of

officials and they're yelling, blowing the whistle. Hey, get out of the way, get out of the way.

And teams are, Hey, get out of the way. But there's just so many clueless people are a walk

down the end of the steps and there's 8,000 people coming down. Then you stop to, Hey,

where's Joe at? Oh, he's down the steps. That Joe, you know, it's like, come on. Yeah. No social

awareness for a lot of your NASCAR brethren. Yes. Yes. That's why I don't drive a truck with a

push, but bumper down the highway either. Cause a lot of people will be pushed in the ditch.

So I don't have a bumper on my shirt and these crowds. You look like that car accident up in

Michigan today. Yeah. No shit, but, but no, chili bowl is a great time. Um, you should go,

but you should have a seat. Yeah. Um, and, and, and it's, and it's sad seriously too for the people

that don't know and go there like, because the news is there every night. And that's, that's how

I'm listening to it. You know, Hey, man, we've seen, that's cool that, oh, Kyle Larson, Tony

Swartz there as a grand marshal. Oh, let's fruit you guys there for Indy car and I'll,

Hey, let's go on Saturday. Then they get there by, Oh, well, sorry. We don't have a grand. You

get a pit pass. Cause like, Oh yeah, you can get a pit pass. Well, if you ever been to a local

race, like, okay, cool. We can still sit in the pits and all that. Then you get there and you're

like, um, excuse me. Yeah. If I stand at the back, I can watch on the screen on the back of the grand

stands, but other than that, yeah, I should have brought a lawn chair or okay. Now I go squeeze

against this aisle or, and some of them don't know, like you see legit people, you can tell

our look, Oh, Hey, is anybody sitting there? Like, no, that's a reserve seat. Oh, what? Yeah.

Oh, how do I get one of those? Yeah. They've been sold out for months. Yeah. It's like,

if you try your luck down there where it's crowded and you see, oh, yeah. Well, you don't see a seat.

That's where you're allowed to sit over there. Yeah. So it's, uh, so what do they do is there's

no room to add any seats, right? I mean, it's all right. I mean, we talked to Halbert on the

podcast a couple of years ago and they already added like a 1600. Then they were, I mean,

they even have like some, they're, I'll say sweets or whatever, because they got their sweets is

basically a platform. I can see that. Well, they got them in turn one now as far as you can.

You might be able to put a 16 person one in turn two, maybe. Yeah. But as far as hundreds or

a thousand seats, you got no shot. No, there's no, I mean, that's what I mean. It's that capacity

and the sell on the pit passes. If the lawn chairs and people against the wall standing,

all that is that capacity too. So now if there's another 500 people next year, it says, Hey,

I want to go, where are you putting them? Yeah. I mean, literally, where are you putting them?

And if you're a team and you push your driver out there, what do you do if you want to watch?

Yeah. I mean, you're allowed to stand. You're not allowed to stand at the ramp, right?

Yeah, some do. Okay. I mean, like, I didn't know if you're allowed to stand,

you know, at that opening or not a little bit. There's a roped off area. Yeah. I mean,

you're back a little ways. Yeah. You're going to see three and four basically in part of the

front stretch. Yeah. I mean, yeah, I know it's teams that will set their hauler all week and

watch it on flow that don't even because there's this nowhere too. Yeah. Well, I'm just thinking

like if you're one of those teams and you're, you know, watching your car and something happens,

you got to be there. It's like, how do you even get to watch, you know? Yeah. Well, like Steve

Buckwater has got, he sets not too far from us and something happens on his car. He runs down

the grandstand, goes running behind the thing and tries to run up the ramp. And, you know,

if you want to see it, that's something happens and kind of screwed that way.

Yeah. Or else you got to have a guy down there with a walkie talkie or a cell phone and you

got to be from the stands going, Hey, you know, it's the right front or, Hey, it's a, you know.

So yeah, it's a logistically, like I said, it's got to, it's got to be some point where like, okay,

it's so crowded we can't take any more people. Yeah. And it's to that point. Yeah. Cause I mean,

bathrooms and everything or just a mile long, all night probably. And I'll give them credit

there. The same couple is the wider list deal. Then you got morons of spit gum in there,

their tobacco or their packs of shit and that. So of course it's wild or steel. So the same couple

every year quit working that first day. Well, there is down to five of them not working like

Wednesday out of 10 or 12. So that made it worse yet in the one bathroom. So they have a

attendance and that and it's first time I've ever seen them fix them during the week because

usually when it's done, it's done. Yeah, they actually came in and fixed them during the week

and so kudos to them. Oh yeah, you just, if you're waiting, you're waiting in line. I mean,

if you're going to the bathroom, but I will say it moves pretty quick. Yeah. But yeah,

you're, you're waiting. The men's always has a bigger line than the women's. Yeah. Cause there's

one in the back corner that a lot more people know now, but it's kind of one side's men and

one side's women. The other, there's separate men and women as funny as back in the line and

there's, you know, 50 guys in line and the one, one of them comes out and it's like,

you guys might as well start going in there because there ain't no women in there. Like,

yeah, start identifying, you know, wait, we can't identify nowadays. Yeah. But,

um, yeah, I mean, it's, it's not as terrible as what you'd think because the line moves pretty

big, but it is long. Yeah. Same with concession, same with beer, same with, well, it's just so

congested because there's nowhere to go. Yeah. Like you're going down the aisle, like for the

concessions or like, so they have like an ice cream stand, a peanut stand, a french fry stand,

a chicken finger stand on this like little, little rotunda area. Well, they can all handle

maybe four people in line, then you're in the walkway. So when there's 1000 people trying to

get it during the break, you know, so you get your food and try to turn around to move to you. So

you can go out of the line to go eat and you know, this guy's got to move or that guy's got to move

and get somebody that has no clue what's going on in life. It's like, what are you trying to do?

Like, dude, you can get your food a lot better if you move your ass and let us out.

You know, it's like, there's, but it's, it's just, it's just there's nowhere to go. You can't

expand out. You can't go this way. You can't go that way. Yeah. You can put food trucks outside.

That's the only other thing you could do. Yeah. But the parking lot is so packed that

you can do it in a few spots, but not much. Yeah. Park cars outside, which nobody wants to do.

Yeah. So that's what I mean. It's, uh, there's just, there's got to be a point where it's like,

okay, if we got 500 or more people want to show up next year, I get it. You want to try to make

as much money as you can because it's a one-time deal and you don't want to turn anybody away,

but logistic wise, there's no way next year that place can hold another 500 people or not another

300 people. I want to come in with chairs or yeah, it just can't. Yeah. Yeah. You gotta say

you're at capacity at some point, right? Yes. I mean, if L door and Knox will do it outdoors,

yeah. How many times, I mean, I would have never thought my whole life I'd see L door go, okay,

time out. We're done selling pit passes and everything. Yes. Agreed. You know, and so there's

got to be a point in the indoor place where you're like, okay, there's people everywhere. Yes. I mean,

and somebody's got to be looking at going, okay, if we get another 300 people next year,

where are we putting them? Yeah. And stuff. Well, who cares if I pay for third, let them roam around,

you know, there's got to be somebody going, this is getting to be unsafe. Yeah, especially like

you said, if you have ambulances need to be. Yeah, somebody has heart attack. Yeah, medical

emergencies, like there's logistically, it's kind of a nightmare. Yeah, it sounds like my

personal hell. That's why I don't go. Yeah. Too many people for me. It flows what the people that's

been there and user head, it can flow very well. Yes. But you get a lot of newbies or a lot of

one person stops and you're just stopping 400 people. Yes, exactly. That's what it is because

it has to flow because there's you can't go side to side. You can't go because you go the trade

show. There's I mean, the aisle used to be 12 foot wide is now down to about seven or six to walk

through. So where are you going to go? Yeah. And now you're trying to funnel thousands of people

through there. Yeah. Then you get somebody stopped to look one of the booths and say,

Hey, Hey, Martha, look at that. And she's three people down and well, now she's stopping and

now it's like traffic jam. Yeah. No, thank you. Well, I'm glad you get to go and report on it.

But no, that's awesome. I like it. I actually talked to Matt Ward. Yeah. But I had kids selling

some stuff and he's like, Oh, you gotta buy it. There's two passes for next year. And you know,

that. And so I, well, he goes, it's funny. He goes, yeah, and you can bring her back. And I

like, well, then I mind taking a second to bring her back. It is pretty cool. I mean,

first time I ever talked to him. But yeah, I mean, they do a good job. I mean, they really do.

You got all those people. It just logistic. So they're out of room. Yeah. That's just they are

just out of room. Whether they want a minute or not, they're out of room. Yeah. I guess one thing

we saw, I saw a video of, I don't know details. You said you might have heard a few things, but

you know, maybe some seats up at the top row rowdy section next year. Maybe some of them

aren't welcome back. Supposedly as someone Macintosh's family, I know they're big cannonball people

up there. So a little bit of a brawl fight going on at the top row rowdies off the turn two, I

believe, right? Yeah. And yeah, didn't look real pleasant. So now they're just pushing each other

around. Yeah, it was trying to cannonball people and cannonball was done. Yeah. And they did his

move. I didn't, when did that happen? Did you see it where you were? Oh, yeah. Like everyone's

sitting there going, look at those guys. Oh, yeah. Oh, no, the fight. No, we couldn't see a lot of that.

I mean, you could hear here. I mean, you heard the ruckus, but there's always ruckus over there.

And I seen the video later. But yeah, they've got a big push and match. I'm sure somebody

probably mouth off to him when cannonball did cannonball stuff. And so, yeah, I mean,

thankfully and rightfully, most people are pretty good. I mean, you don't see much arguing or fighting.

What about Braden? I mean, I last year, last year posted a fun video. Yes,

yeah, you'll see some teams fighting, but I mean, as far as fans, I mean, which you could,

because you're pecked in there. I mean, like, well, I guess funny, the guys from California

that I talked about, I mean, they're taller people than it. So you're scrunch. So you're

going to be brunting in each other. They're going to be hitting your legs or your legs and hit them

or that. And they're like, we're getting the game pretty close, you know, just messing around.

But because you got somebody walking behind you and you got to try to lean forward or

then they hit you, then you hit the person from it because you're that tight. There's no,

you know, because seats are made for like 16, 18 inches wide and not,

let's face it, not everybody's 16, 18 inches wide. No, yeah. Some might only be 10, but some

might be 20, including myself. Yeah. Yeah. No. And I'm not on the 10 spectrum. Yes, for sure.

And, you know, so you get, there's not a lot of, especially on that stage. I mean, you're packed

in there. So there's a lot of rubbing and bumping into each other and the wrong people could get

really, really pissed. That's kind of give and take. And, you know, so luckily you don't see

a lot of fisticuffs in the stands per se. Yeah. On the track. I don't know. Those guys,

yeah. Oh, the brain there put a post on after he got disqualified from the chilly bull because

his head was too tall. I was going to say he was too tall sticking out of the cage,

close to the cage. Yeah. They're letting practice. Gotcha. And then they're like,

this couple is just too high. So they put somebody else in. But yeah, that, that deal,

those guys, and I think they got together higher up in the, the race. And I suppose

they the one stop to say, Hey, what the hell happened? And they got in a big, so, you know,

there's fighting for like a F or G main spot. Then they ended up not being able to come back

because they got in a fight, not on the track. Yeah. I saw Matt Word said that the driver's

meeting or whatever, like you're going to fight and do it on the front street right by the ramp.

Or if not, you're done. Yeah. And they stick to it. I give them kudos for that. And, you know,

because you can't patrol everyone. Yeah. And that's the other thing. That's what I mean about

you got to come to a point where you're just out of, you're out of space. And they do have a lot

of officials moving around, but you can't get them all. And I give them kudos for going up there

and investigating like, okay, guys, you did what you're not supposed to. See ya. Done deal. Yep.

Well, well, another chili bowl in the books. I guess it's like most guys that love the chili

bowls, the 362 days or 63 days till the next one. That's great racing. I mean, that's the thing. I

mean, we talked about doing something different next year and not going back. Just take a year off

because I do that off and on. And, uh, but man, the racing was so good this year. It's like,

and you know, you know, yeah, there's 400 and some entries this year and 387. But you know,

I mean, in the last few years, you're going to get at least 350. Yeah. Oh, yeah. It's not going to

just the experience you have there. I mean, we have a great time. John Ivy and AJ go with us.

And, uh, we plan something every day. We go to a different restaurant and eat. And like,

we went to the turn five, uh, pub, which is a port port city speedway operated by Shane Stewart.

And, uh, Shane put a thing out like, Hey, um, come out and it's cool. You know, for a little

one TV does deceiving things that racetrack cause the straightaways are not nearly as long

as they look on TV. Yeah. Trust me. It is a true eighth mile. So a true eighth mile.

And, uh, Shane was there. His wife was bartender. He had three buck beers. They had open house from

11 to 130, I think on Saturday. There's actually a couple of midget teams there that was having

issues trying to figure out their issues for Saturday and was trying to take a few laps.

But, uh, we went there and a neat thing just off a turn, uh, one of the racetrack is called

the turn five pub. Uh, it's got air conditioning. It's got heat. It's got couches. It's got tables.

It's got TVs. It's got a spar. Got restrooms. Uh, yeah. We've got to talk to Shane for about 20

minutes. And, uh, uh, it's funny cause I showed him a picture, uh, from 2007 with him and I

and victory lane at, uh, Eldora when I did that all Sardash deal one year. Yeah. Well,

that's funny. Uh, speaking that, and it's kind of cool cause you know, um, I don't go out there,

you know, and like, Hey, I'm here type thing and all that. It was funny. Uh, the other day, uh,

we were standing there and a JJ Hickle comes up and he's like, you know, he says, I seen you last

night. He goes, I like, man, I know that guy. I know that guy. I know that guy. He goes, then

he says it hit me. He goes in a non, uh, non, uh, way of, uh, you know, it goes, but he's like,

Hey, I got a picture of that dude on my wall. He goes, he goes, that's the AFCS guy. So he

come up to the next day and he's like, I knew, I knew, you know, like, man, I got a picture of that

dude on my wall. He goes, I see this guy and just talk and I help. We sit there and talk for 20

minutes. Like, man, that's cool little thing you're doing. And said he's living in Knoxville now.

He's got a good ride for Knoxville and like, dude, you ever want to come out to Knoxville?

Come hang out with us. Come, come see us. Come, but shit like that. And I was like, that's cool.

Yeah. You know, that was really, really cool. Cause most is like, who was that? I said JJ Hickle.

And she goes, Oh my God. She was, that was just cool. How he came up. Man. I remember when I won

that race and, you know, just then invite, Hey, you ever in Knoxville hit us up? I live in Knoxville.

Do you remember you disqualifying them? No, I wasn't him that they got disqualified.

Was that Scotty seal? Yeah. Okay. I can't remember who was in that car.

Yeah. Yeah. Fun times. Yeah. So it's cool that, you know, you see some things like that. You get

to talk to some of those guys, you know, that I thought it was pretty cool. He just like, Hey,

I know you. And then I was like, well, in a non weird way, I got a picture of you on my wall.

Yeah. Like, yeah, I think I got a picture of you too, bud.

Well, out West, there was some more racing going on. Some controversy there too.

Central Arizona raceway was holding the Wild West shoot out where opening night

went to Ricky Thornton, Jr. We got a win for before he flew to the chilly ball. Yeah. It was

before his chilly bowl endeavors and Saturday was up in the air as to if he would be at one

versus the other. He chose the chilly bowl. Didn't have the success he would have liked, but hey,

fun head by all at least, but his opener was a $25,000 paycheck plus $13,000 in bonus money

for the lap, I believe for laps and stuff. So he won $38,000. Yeah. It was like $500 to lead a lap.

Something. Yeah. So Ricky Thornton, Jr. Hudson O'Neill, Kate Dillard, your top three

on the opening night, the second night, Hudson O'Neill won over Mike Marlar and Bobby Pierce.

You know, a measly $10,000 payday. Is that it? That's it. But Hudson was driving the

Rumbly number six for the week. Yep. And then Wednesday night, I believe they're off.

They're off Tuesday. Yeah. Their schedule is kind of goofy out there. Yeah, because they

race six races in nine days. So they race Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday.

Yeah, I was going to say, I knew they're off like two nights, but their mid,

midweek show Wednesday night, Ethan Dotson, California native got himself the win over Bobby

Pierce and Ryan Gustin. I believe it was a late race real restart. Got by Bobby and Tyler Irb,

but yeah, Dotson got himself the win on Wednesday and then come to Thursday,

Friday. Sorry. Yeah. As I was saying, that doesn't sound right. Hudson O'Neill grabbed his second

win on the week over Bobby Pierce, Ryan Gustin, another $10,000 payday. And then Friday night,

I know this one probably means quite a bit to this driver, Garrett Alberson,

New Mexico born and raised driver got himself the win. It was a $10,000 in the win,

but actually some bonus money was put up. So I ended up being for $15,000.

Guy goes out there every year, tries hard, you know, been searching for a lot of big wins in a

row. He gets one here or there. He got his first Lucas oil race finally, which didn't seem right.

Seems like he's won plenty, but yeah, just cards not falling his way. One of the nicest guys you'll

meet in the pits on top of it, but he won Friday night. And sorry, hold on. I was gonna say that

wrong Saturday night. Saturday night. Yes. Jesus Christ. I'll figure it out. But finale final night,

Bobby Pierce, $51,500 payday. Payday included $23,500 in lap money plus a $3,000 Don Frank

Floors bonus. So what a hell of a payday for the finale. It's a little bit of controversy.

Yes, early in the night. So controversy guy finished second. Jonathan Davenport

started last, actually, because he had a little mishap, we'll say with some turbo in the heat

race. You got had some turbulence. Yeah. That's a meal. Third Tyler Irv fourth on the finale night.

But yeah, if you didn't see the highlight in Jonathan Davenport expressed his displeasure

afterward in the uncharacteristically normal Jonathan Davenport behavior, he parked his car

turbo's hauler after the heat race and got out to have a few words and lots of yelling,

screaming, no shoving or punches thrown. So at least the drivers have respect for each

other in that manner. But yeah, did you see it? I did. I thought it was a shitty move by turbo.

I know you have your side of things, but I mean, it was legitimate. He definitely slid him. But I

think I think Davenport could have let off not that you want to let off. I think it was a Justin

Grant move. I'll put it that way. Yeah. I think turbo definitely slid him and guided him. But I

think I think Davenport hurt himself because I think he pushed the throttle to try to hook him.

I honestly do. I think if he would let off, he wouldn't hit the wall, but I get it too.

Somebody slides you dirty like that. Guess what? Yeah, you're going to try to hook on him around.

But what about the Bobby Pearson O'Neill and the main? Yes. Yes. I forgot about that one.

Yeah. And Bobby admitted he goes, it's probably my fault because I was squeezing up there. He

goes, I just didn't realize he was going to close that quick because I thought it was very

interesting that they changed motors because Bobby, it's like, you mean you're going to go with six

races and Bobby Pearson going to win one? He says they had to put their Volusia motor in,

which he said still really wasn't big enough for that track. He says that track was a lot.

The motor that they brought and the car they brought, they had to switch because he says

it wasn't enough motor. So that track is faster than what they thought. And he goes, I just,

he goes, I didn't think he was going to close the gap that much. He goes and squeeze him and

is another one of those deals. I think it was just hard raising his Hudson Hudson knew he could

because they slowly started three or four times and it was close. So Hudson, I'm pretty sure

new Bobby was going to slide up there. So he could have, but like, like Bobby said, it's $500

and leave a lap and this one fits. So they're, but neither one's going to give, you know,

he goes, I wasn't trying to take him out. I'm not trying to make an enemy. He goes,

I actually really thought it was cool that his car, you know, we spun out. Nobody lost a spot

and he could finish, you know, and I, I, you know, I don't think he did it maliciously, but I think,

I think they both knew what was going to happen because even Huddy's like, yeah,

he goes, it was bad on him, but yet it is what it is. I mean, they both,

that you knew what was going to happen if you put it in there. And I think Hudson knew what

was going to happen if you put it in there too. So I don't think, I don't think it was as malicious

as a Tyler herb. No, for sure. Yeah. Because that import, I mean, herb, herb, you know,

threw it in there. Well, then there's controversy earlier week two with Kate Dillard and somebody,

I can't remember who it was, but I don't remember, but it was, it might have been Tyler Herb,

actually. I think it was. I'm pretty sure it's Tyler Herb. I really do think it was Tyler Herb.

So Turbo's getting, he's going out on the outlaw tour. Maybe he wants to get some fenders rubbed

off before that. Yeah. He's getting the car ready, broken in literally. Yeah. But Pierce and O'Neill,

Pierce lit up, got O'Neill in the fence. O'Neill spun to a 360, but luckily there was a blend

rule. So he got to restart like second or third or whatever. So he didn't get penalized to the

rear or anything. So yeah. Hey, Skyrer, it definitely wasn't as good as what it was before that because

the nose is messed up, but good enough. He ended up third and won the title for the week, which is

$3,000. Yeah. So yeah, it was, uh, yeah, it kind of brings second fiddle to the chili bull during

the week, but, uh, did you see that modified? Did you, did you watch it? Holy crap. Then a modified,

I can't remember the dude's name. Yeah. He cartwheeled, didn't he? Oh, he drove up though. Yeah.

The billboards. He almost went over the billboards and, you know, Billy Moyer is in there doing,

and he goes, I think it's thought, thought it was stuck. So they interviewed him. He's like,

oh, I just got in there too hard. He's like, where the hell was you going? Yeah. He literally drove

and his tires was over the billboard. It was like he ramped it. Well, then when it hit cage first,

the cage collapsed. He's lucky. He didn't kill himself. Yeah. I saw it was a gnarly aftermath.

Yeah. I mean, it, it crushed it to the seat. Yeah. And, uh, there's interviewing him on the back

golf cart. Honestly enough, like the chili ball. It was all my next little source. Like, yeah,

no shit. You just tried putting a rough through it. Yeah. You tried to go to the sky to the moon,

dude. So yeah, it was, uh, it was a gnarly. They don't have a real good put, uh, just an overhead

view of the crash. And they have, uh, you know, an up closer, you can see the tire marks go all the

way up the billboards that, I mean, it's got to be 15 foot tall or more. Yeah. That's pretty tall.

Yeah. I saw it because they kept showing like the drone shot from above that catches everything,

but it was so minute. You couldn't really tell what was going on. Like, dude, what the hell?

Blake Davis. That was his name. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I remember I was actually watching after

that happened. And I remember on the Billy Moyer saying, yeah, I think his throttle stuck. And

then they, the guy got on the golf cart with him and goes, Oh, I just got in a little too high.

And I was like, bro. Yeah. Yeah. Like, yeah. His right front cleared the billboard. Yeah.

And it was tall billboard. Yeah. I mean, I'm looking at the

photographer posted slide by slide. Uh-huh. Um, yeah. Homeboy, uh, went for a hell of a ride.

Yeah. Then it came down onto the cage. Yeah. Yikes. Yeah. Luckily it landed

weight to the back. So it must have collapsed the more the back. Well, I had a good seat.

You got a full containment seat. And I'm telling you, those, those seats are lifesavers. Yeah.

Yeah. I mean, just by looking at the driver side window is probably every bit at eight foot off

the ground. I mean, it says he's on the side, you know, going up the wall sideways pretty much.

Yeah. That's pretty gnarly. Yeah. Yeah. But, uh, wild. Well, yeah. Speaking of some news with, uh,

late model series, you seem to gain a lot of announcements lately. Drivers go into a series

and or not series in the case of Jonathan Davenport announced he's going to be running an open

schedule hitting all the big races and, uh, kind of anywhere in between. So

says he wants to hit some new tracks, uh, spend more time with his kid. Yep. Um,

hit all the big shows. So no, we're supposedly they're going to make a schedule because I seem to

say, Hey, if you want to come to your track, give us a reason why. And I want to hit some new tracks.

So maybe some hell tour races. I don't know. Yeah. I don't know. I mean, I kind of took it as,

let us know if you want to see us as in past show up. Exactly. But I don't know for sure.

It's kind of what I thought to you. I don't think he, I honestly don't think I want an old car

for under 10 grand. Yeah, I would agree. Like I don't see him going to anything less than 10.

Right. That's, that was back in the day, like Bloomer and Moyer, you'd always know they ain't

coming for anything less than, you know, 10 grand or five grand. And less, like you said,

less than what he was like, Hey, we're paying five grand one, but we'll give you a three grand

to show up and free pit pass or something. You know, but yeah. Um, but also announced Brian

Shirley today are going to the Lucas oil tour. Yeah. I'm so surprised to me. Yeah. I don't know

the reason necessarily. I mean, just do something different. I don't know if he really benefits

much either way. Yeah. But, uh, you know, I have important out on the tour that'll obviously help.

Yeah. Uh, Josh Rice announced he'll be going full-time Lucas oil racing next year. Yeah. So

that'll be good turbo full-time outlaw turbo outlaw. Jake Tim's announced Minnesota driver.

He'll be full-time outlaw next year as well. Logan's Aaron, right? Yeah. We talked about

him a couple weeks ago. Logan's Aaron to the outlaws of Western Pennsylvania guy.

So yeah, got a little bit of a mix up and still too strong, too, too strong series

next year for models. So I'm sure there's some other, let me look at some notes here,

make sure I'm not, I'm sure we're missing something. I always fricking miss something.

Think of any other big, late model ones. Oh, uh, Dalton Wilson and the big frog. Yeah. 58v gonna

ride or 58 gonna be word of outlaws next year. This year now, I guess. Uh-huh. Uh, MLRA is coming

back. The Midwest Light Model Racing Association. They were off last year. Um, couldn't get things

in order to have the series last year. Well, that one was always pretty successful though. And

luckily they're, they are still racing at Lucas Oil Speedway for some events. So it's good to see

that, uh, connection still there, but, uh, MLRA will be back. Uh, the Flow Racing Night in America

schedule was posted. It was. It looks like we start out in May at, uh, for Illinois Late Model

Speed Week at LaSalle, Spoon River and Lincoln. Uh, and then Eldora before the dream, they have

their June 3rd date and Fairberry's date will be before the, uh, Peridot Classic this year

on July. Uh, then they're off, uh, until the end of August, Marshalltown, Mason City and Iowa.

Then they go to Lincoln Park Speedway. Yeah. Puttin' a villain in on September. That would be a

good one. Yeah, that would be interesting. Volunteer in October and then ending at Sonoa again, uh,

with the two night show. I thought, uh, Lincoln Park was an interesting addition. Yeah, that is

an interesting addition. Um, West Virginia more Speedway announced. Hillbilly 100 will be coming

back, which not a huge surprise, but going to be a, uh, 25,000 to win 100 lap race. I think a

thousand to start here, right? Uh, I didn't think it said that. Wouldn't doubt it. But, uh, yeah,

going back to, you know, the home land unsanctioned. So it'll be more of a regional, you know,

and whoever else kind of race. Um, Levi Yetter taking over the Cor, Corrado number 10. Jared

Miley's been driving at the past eight seas or for seven of the past eight seasons, uh, number

10 in Western Pennsylvania. That's been very competitive car over the years. Um,

other than that, nothing else. JD's independent schedule. That's about all I got.

Um, all I'm missing. Sprint car stuff's been pretty quiet. Well, Sprint car stuff, uh,

high limits over the weekend. And now it's the six race, Cole. Oh yeah. With Fs one. Yes. Whatever

Cole. Cole broadcast. Yeah. Cole broadcast. I said, would be with the best words and, uh,

the Great Lakes traditional sprints and Great Lakes three sixties. They allow on, well three

sixties is going to be American racer only except for Canada and one other track that's

like that they got to do, but the Great Lakes traditional sprints is going to allow American

racers, but it's going to be open where you can run either one. Gotcha. Uh, so, uh, is that going

to make some moves for, you know, Hoosiers had a tight market on it and American racers already

said they're guaranteed they're going to be a hundred dollars less attire. Um, you know,

American racers always been a good tire and my personal opinion, just from

using both of them on cars that I've worked on, American racer don't last as long.

Could be why it's a hundred dollars cheaper, but Hoosiers lately. I haven't been that great either.

Yeah. Hoosiers, you've had them brand new out of the box and split still or, you know,

be inconsistent as hell. So, uh, um, and I know Hoosiers gives money in different places, but

it's like, sounds like they've been given less. Well, not only that, I mean, okay,

you can give money and tracks are pocketing some of the tracks are giving some of it away

and tracks are using some of it for some purses or points, funds and all this stuff.

But where, where is the point of let's get less money from Hoosier and get cheaper tires because

at three 60 to $400, that's why a lot of family teams are disappearing. Oh yeah. And even at,

you know, let's say 260 to, you know, 280 or whatever. I mean, that's a lot better, but it's

still a little up there, but I mean, I, I, I don't think it's a bad deal. I think, uh, you know,

Barry's always done what's good for his teams. Uh, sometimes it's been controversial or like

not the popular kid, kid opinion, but, uh, I give very Barry 100% credit for like, hey,

because his teams are all family owned teams. It's like, we can't do 400 bucks a tire.

So now we, now, now we're down. I mean, it's cheaper and I, I mean, I know it doesn't matter

to the high limit or all teams for, for a majority of them, but, uh, I, I actually welcome the move.

I think it should be open. I think I actually think they all should be open.

Yeah. I, I just worry about, and I get my series gets Hoosier money, but yeah,

we're got teams disappearing. I think we're going to maybe a couple more disappear because

can't afford a four three 73 eight tire.

I just worry because I know a lot of, uh,

four 10 teams can run three sixties when they want to and, you know, help the car count.

But so if they're running four 10 stuff, that's all Hoosier. Yep.

You're not going to want to buy a full set of tires just for 360 racing.

So that, that's what I'll be watching. Yeah.

I don't have a problem with the tires itself. It's more about getting car count numbers and stuff.

So yeah, you're putting yourself on an island in our area. Yeah.

I mean, there's other other areas that you already run American. Yeah.

Yeah. But, uh, in our area, you're on an island though.

Yes. But you, let's see if people jump ship to the island. You ever know.

So did you see, speaking of tires that the race saver series is going to those race saver

tires out of Australia? Yeah. Getting their own made. Yep.

Yeah. That was announced. That's another island.

Yeah. Which that one's always been an island. So, you know, those kinds of cars were kind

of an island to begin with, but yeah, that was, uh, like you said, you got to start somewhere.

So we'll see a couple infusions for, from these, uh, we'll see where it goes. So

I was hoping, uh, maybe there'd be some breaking news. The rumor mill is floating.

And I can't get a hundred percent confirmation on it, but three people, not, not one, not two,

three people in the know. Uh, there's hot rumor going around. There will be another

rookie on the world outlaw tour announced this week. Okay.

Do you know who? Yeah. Who? I'm going to steal a thunder. Okay.

But, uh, I'm just going to say it's an Ohio team or Ohio driver. I know you're

inching to say it. Oh, I know. I know. And we still haven't gotten official word on Sheldon

in the KCP car. No, I heard they might just show up and start racing. Yeah. I just, uh,

I heard, uh, there might not be a pressure. There's rumor is some of it has to do with

NOS and getting that. Cause I heard that NOS can be a Sheldon sponsor, not a team sponsor,

or maybe a team. I don't know. I know there's, that's what I've heard. Don't know how true it is.

Gotcha. And, uh, heard that could be the holdup and they might just show up without a press release

and go. You don't need one, but supposedly there's going to be a press release. So if I,

a current or an all team, um, that usually has a different driver about every year.

Um, haven't given an Ohio driver a shot the way it sounds. A young Ohio driver.

Cool. We're all a team. So Bill Rose racing. Hey, yep. Okay.

We'll just leave it at Bill Rose racing. All right. Oh, they hired a cruiser from Ohio today.

Oh yeah. It's your Fitzwater. Okay. That was on sides. Got, you know, sportsman of the year or

whatever. He, uh, got married, uh, moved back to Ohio. Might know why now. That's you.

They just hired him as a Jimmy Fitzwater as, I don't know. I shouldn't say crew chief,

but as a crew member. Gotcha. So I'm assuming it might be crew chief. Um, so we'll see. We'll see

if, uh, supposedly in the next few days, there's going to be an announcement. Gotcha. Um, of an

Ohio driver. Right on. But I've had, I had some phone calls yesterday driving back, back, uh,

Hey, have you heard this? So like funny, you should say, because I just heard it a couple days ago

and, uh, they're like, well, somebody called me and here's who called me because they heard from

such and such. And I heard from such, we're like, let's call Dwayne cause he usually hears.

Yeah. And I messaged my Bill Rose source that usually, you know, keeps me in the loop of all

kinds of things. And they're playing shy right now. They either, or the change their phone number

or they don't like me anymore. I don't know. All of those are very possible. I know.

Any of them could be the right answer. Um, but, uh, I have not heard that. That's kind of trying

to confirm cause, uh, uh, but yeah, it should be, uh, it'll be interesting. Yeah. I mean, I

would be good. Well, next episode will be February 2nd, a couple of weeks from now.

And, uh, that's the week I leave for Florida. I leave Friday for Florida. So

are you going to go to a race in Florida? Uh, playing this to go to Volusion one night.

Yeah. What? So we'll see. Are you sure? We'll see how weather plays out. It's not a baking contest.

We have, uh, some other things going on. So if, if the weather changes the date,

I may not be able to go, but, um, I've already paid for shit for these other dates. So

that aren't dependent on the weather. So, uh, yeah, I mean, uh, we'll see how the cards fall.

But yeah, plan is to go at least one night to Volusion. Okay. So, but that'll be our next episode

February 2nd. So you're going to Volusion world outlaw, lay mile season kicks off.

Yeah. This weekend. Thursday. Sunshine Nationals at Volusion Volusion. So there's a very Saturday.

That's right. I know last year they had some rain and stuff. I think they did.

Did they even do two or just one night? But yeah, I think it's not real nice down there right now.

It's 50 degrees down there. So I'm hoping that shit changes before I go. I hope it's 40. Well,

when you go, I'll tell my wife, you'll kick in the nuts. So anyway, that's going to do it for us.
