Iron Man and Mill Bridge is all they're having. But it's crazy, because Power Eye paid more. They've paid $4,000 or $5,000 to win in the last few years. Now it's down to only a few cars. Some of the Power Eye shows when I got 10 and 12 cars. Now everybody's running Power Eye and USAC."

Hello, everybody.
Hello.
Hey, wait.
I'm at the first.
You're here.
I wonder what that ugly wobble it's across from me.
Dwayne is here.
Is that a fat joke?
No.
We're back.
Dwayne.
Dwayne.
Dwayne.
Dwayne.
Dwayne.
Dwayne.
Dwayne.
Dwayne.
Dwayne.
Dwayne.
Dwayne.
Dwayne.
Dwayne.
Dwayne.
Dwayne.
Dwayne.
Dwayne.
Dwayne.
We're back.
I'm about the same size as you.
In our natural state, Dwayne is able to hobble his ass over here to record a podcast this week,
so hope everyone's happy to have us back in our normal environment we'll say.
Our one fan was asking me around 8 o'clock this morning.
It's been a…
Our fan swanned her…
It's been a hectic few weeks for both of us actually, so happy to get some of
out of the way, hopefully.
I know Dwayne's still got some things to work out.
But for the most part, he's hobbling around.
Yeah, I can walk.
You can walk.
Maybe not the most stable at times.
Yeah, we'll find a.
The races will find a four-wheeler or golf cart
door your ass on if we get a drag you out of the pits.
It'll just look like when I used to be drunk
and can't walk out of the place.
Yeah, almost different.
We'll see.
Well, it depends when racing season starts.
Should be fixed.
Maybe.
I don't know.
I'm all right here in a few weeks, so.
Yeah, we'll see.
I don't know.
They keep telling me it's nothing.
It's like, well, the doctor's like, well,
obviously it's something of everything we've done.
Yeah, so it's been a fun couple of weeks for us,
but we're back before we get into the show.
As always, we've got sponsors to talk about.
We still got some?
As far as they know.
Our first is our friends over at propane.com
if you haven't already.
Head to the website.
Oh, that guy's a cool guy.
See what propane can do for you.
Propane is clean, safe, reliable, and affordable.
Energy made, produced right here in the good old US of A.
We know it's, well, today it's nice and 70 degrees out,
but we know it's just the fall start to spring.
So I have a feeling we're still going
to need some propane to keep some houses warm.
And some race shops warm.
But check them out.
They got all kinds of different uses.
I was behind one of our local school buses
the other day had the propane sticker on the bumper.
So there you go.
I know our fleet here locally has been using it.
Is that the one you ran up and put up there dirt and propane?
No.
No, it was not.
But we know more and more school bus fleets are using it.
More commercial fleets.
It's always used in forklifts.
Been used in outdoor living stuff recently
as warmer temperatures come, mosquitoes,
and all that kind of shit getting your way.
Propane can help you with some of that.
That's right, fry their ass.
Propane.
All kinds of different uses for propane.
So go to the website.
Instead of listening to us blabber on about it each
and every week, go check out propane.com.
Because as they say, propane is energy for everyone.
Propane.com.
Rick missed that.
Rick's pride.
He's ready, I'm sure.
Our next is our friends over at the whistle stop.
I got an actual whistle again.
Bar and grill.
Just down the road from Eldora Speedway,
7 miles south on State Route 118 from the racetrack.
Oh, are they still there?
They are still there.
Right next to the railroad tracks.
Slowly working on getting some new bathrooms done
if you haven't seen their latest promotion.
They get a new owner?
Nope, same old sketchy guy owns the place.
No wonder I haven't talked to him.
But they have a little promotion going on right now for $1,000.
You can buy $1,500 worth of gift cards.
I've seen some people have been jumping on this,
breaking them up in different amounts, things like that.
I'm not sure if you have a business or anything like that.
It's a good value to host them events and feed some work.
Or say you can break them up.
Yeah, you can give them some customers, you can do.
So instead of going to the bank like the good old days,
he's trying to fund this on his own with this promotion
as part of that.
So help him out if you can.
Head over to their Facebook page,
whistlestopbarandgrill.
As you go to their website, whistlebarandgrill.com.
You can check out their menu.
We talk about their awesome pizza, awesome burgers,
great sandwiches, pretty much anything on the menu.
That has never been disappointing to me.
So you can order online, pick up at the pickup window.
You can even get DoorDash up to the racetrack
during those busy race weekends.
So whistlestop can come right to your campsite.
Works out real well.
Again, check them out whistlebarandgrill.com.
If you're in the area, you head a little further south.
You head up to downtown Greenville.
You can also check out the Sure Shot Taphouse.
They got 46 adult beverages on tap downstairs.
I know they got four more usually upstairs
in the Bullseye Game Lounge,
but it's a self-pore tap system.
You're charged by the ounce.
So you can buy anything from your regular domestic beers.
There's IPAs, local stuff.
Try one of those exotic beers.
There's a Cinnamon Toast Brunch beer on hand right now.
That's right.
And you only got to try ounce at a time.
So it makes it real nice to try some of those
that way you're not committed to the entire pint.
Once you pick something,
go ahead and rinse your glass out
and go up for that full pint.
But they got all kinds of stuff.
If you go to their website, SureShotTapHouse.com,
you go to the Drink and Eat tab.
Click on the drink lineup.
You can see it all there.
They got the barrel den as well,
which is bourbons and wines.
Always rotating.
I know he tries to have some higher end bourbons on hand.
For the people like Elliot.
For the fancy bitches like me.
So check them out.
And the fun's not over.
You can go upstairs, go to the Bullseye Game Lounge.
And they got four Duck Pin bowling lanes,
24 arcade games, all with a self-serve kiosk.
You load a card, you go and have your fun.
Swipe away at whatever games you'd like to play.
Works out real well.
Lot of fun.
Yes.
You know, fun for the whole family matters.
It is.
So.
And Duck Pin bowling and the beer,
the four on tap is right next to the Duck Pin bowling
deal and there's couch there.
I really like that area when I go up there.
Yes, it's very unique,
especially for things.
There's a table to put your beer on while you bowl.
Oh yeah.
And if you need a venue space,
they got many venue spaces available
for any of those work outings or private parties
you'd like to have.
If you go to the venue spaces tab,
you can see all they have available
and the package is available.
So check it out.
SureShotTapHouse.com
Oh, I see Andrew's packages he has available.
Yeah.
You want Andrew's package, do you?
No.
Okay.
Yeah, so Dwayne mentioned it's supposed to start racing.
Actually our, you know,
home track will say Attica is supposed to begin this Friday.
True.
And while I mentioned it's 70 degrees now,
unfortunately end of the week is not looking so great.
No, Attica is supposed to snow Thursday night
and Friday morning.
Yeah, with low temps Friday night
into the high 20s, low 30s.
And 30 mile per hour wind.
In some gusty winds.
It's probably not going to be in the car.
It's not to mention we're supposed to get like
one to three inches of rain Tuesday and Wednesday.
So normal spring weather here in Ohio, just.
Yeah, 70 and 72, Monday and Tuesday and 40.
Yeah.
So.
We need to figure out how to swap that.
Naturally, Attica's kind of doing the crapshoot every year.
You know, it's a crapshoot if you're going to race.
Atomic was supposed to open this weekend.
Yeah.
And already canceled.
Yeah.
And Brownstown's supposed to open
with the Northern All-Stars paying 10 grand to win.
Northern All-Star, late mile.
So I haven't looked that far south
how that might be effective.
But that's usually a pretty decent show for an opening.
I mean, you know, you got Lucas Oil's off.
You got the Outlaws in Tennessee,
but that could draw some cars out there.
Yeah.
Josh Rice and some of those guys usually go to Brownstown.
So.
Maybe Hoodie, I don't know.
Yeah.
But yeah, so it's always a crapshoot here in March
when we try to race.
We know that.
And I see Jesus Christ, Attica posted there.
We're racing this weekend posting people in the comments.
I always try to start too early.
It's like, well, they just try to get it in.
I mean, if it happens, it happens.
If it doesn't, it doesn't.
I have days like these next two.
Yeah.
Hit a home run.
Yeah.
That's how the weather cycle is.
It's nice Monday Tuesday and shitty on the weekend.
Yeah.
So it's always a crapshoot.
I don't get too worried about it.
You just look at the weather and kind of,
we've been doing it all enough.
There's a lot of race cars that aren't ready right now.
Yes.
Yes.
We were on a group text with two of them that don't have.
I know a lot more of us not either.
This is not that too.
I've seen one of those two a couple of weeks ago.
And he's right.
It's not even remotely, it used to be.
So we'll get to racing at some point.
But like we said, it's March in Ohio.
Could be 70 degrees next week all week.
And I never know.
Never know.
But for us, really not a lot to talk about this week.
But we still want to give you that podcast.
That's right.
The big one, one of the big ones
happening, the word of outlaws return to Volusia
for two days for the Bike Week Jamboree, they called it.
They got both shows in where Sheldon got himself
a win on the year.
And then Anthony Macri continued some good runs at Volusia.
That was a pretty good race.
He won on the bottom.
They moved over to Talladega on Friday, March 6.
They're supposed to have a two day, or what, the mag,
I think, on Saturday.
That rained out early.
Yeah, that rained out Saturday or Friday night.
Yeah, so they only got Talladega in.
But one familiar winner, not as of late,
but I think a lot of people were excited to see back
in Vickery Lane.
Donnie Schatz got himself a win yet again.
First time in like 514 days?
Last year is a winless.
Yeah, since October of 24.
And Donnie's been through a lot.
Lost his dad.
Lost a ton.
Well, split with Tony Stewart.
Don't know exactly how that went.
Sounds like it did not end well.
Even in his interview the other night.
Yeah, sounds like it wasn't amicable.
Well, they basically told him that he sucks,
and he's not good at it.
And you're done.
Yeah, and went through five different rides,
trying to find a home, or just trying to do a deal.
Get the season done.
Well, like I said, this team didn't start.
They didn't start putting this team together
until December 8.
That's why at Volusia, they just, they rushed.
And there was just a few pieces, one quite right.
Yeah.
But he says, and he had lots of, he started like crap early
in the night, but came on strong in the feature
back in February.
Yeah, and he says, this team, he goes,
yeah, I thought it was an awesome interview.
He's actually shedding some tears.
That showed you how much it meant to him.
And he's like, hey, you just started
drinking the Kool-Aid.
Yeah.
He says, maybe I do suck after you're with all these.
But he says, this team's fighting for him.
And he says, I think this team, he goes, it's funny.
Because he goes, it's great when you
got people that's backing you, that believe in you,
and got good stuff.
And he goes, I think this team, he goes,
I think we'd go rip town off in a row if we wanted to.
He goes, we're going to have like, which he's got fire.
Yeah.
I don't think there's any doubt about that.
And what I like about it is what
I have seen on his Snapchat and even in his interviews.
He's the Donny that he was when him and his dad started
before he got with Tony Stewart and that.
And that's the cool Donny.
And I think if he keeps that, I think his nieces has helped.
He's been helping them out a lot.
A little more laid back.
Well, and it puts things in perspective.
I know him and his dad were super close.
And he was sick.
And then you lose it.
You just kind of realize some things in life.
And I think he's like, it's time to not be so serious
maybe and have fun and enjoy it and just not
be so pissed off and uptight type thing.
And I think that's helping a lot.
And I think I think the win a lot of races.
I do.
I think he I think he'll have double digit wins this year.
I really do.
Oh, wow.
I do.
Very cool.
I'm banking on him too because I got him in my fancy slide
job cup with my buddy Ryan Harris.
We were in there.
Yeah.
So I leave and I left him like we do a draft.
And they left him like it wasn't a third round.
It's like, come on.
I mean, don't give up on him.
That's like I'll take him.
But leaving Volusia, I'm sorry, out Talladega.
Carson Macedo and David Gravel tied for the points lead.
Yeah.
And buddy gained a lot back.
Yeah.
30 points back in third.
His buddy and Sheldon's only 32 back.
It's his night at Volusia on Monday.
It was absolutely terrible.
Yeah.
Had troubles and had more troubles.
Went to a backup car for the AMain,
took a provisional, then the backup car wouldn't run either.
Took a provisional that totally got wasted.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Tough stuff there.
But it's the long season.
What about Thursday?
Other thing on Friday night.
Bryce Lucius won on our own.
Yes.
Second in the dash.
Run right there, battling with Don Don,
the first quarter of the race, actually first half,
and a strong fourth place finish.
I mean, the only two cars we got buying was Sheldon and Buddy.
That's, you know, million dollar operations
against operation that's not even a quarter of that.
Yeah.
About.
And yeah, great job for Bryce Lucius, so.
Yes.
That's right.
Looking good out there.
Yeah.
It's crazy him and Casey Jeter is that.
Casey's running the hell out of Bill Rose's car.
That's the best I've seen that car ever run.
Yeah, it's got consistency, seems like, at least.
I mean, we know it lacks in some areas, but.
And I've heard from several sources that, you know,
because we know Zach Hampton was in it.
We know some other people.
And supposedly it was the magic numbers,
like $200,000 or $300,000 to take that deal on.
Casey didn't bring any remotely close.
I think from what I hear, Casey got one sponsor
for like maybe $10,000.
And that's all that's fun in that besides Bill.
Yeah.
So.
Yeah.
And didn't they, one night at Volusia,
have to make an engine swap or something too and.
He made the dash one night before.
And you know, he's got top 10 finish already.
I mean, I think he's surprising a lot of people.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, I don't know if he's been to Volusia before,
but you know, he'll, he'll be all like, I don't think so either.
And a lot more new tracks coming.
So.
Yeah.
And he's still new to four 10s.
That's weird.
I mean, yes, he raced them last year.
But he's in our 305.
Hell, he's in the FCS 305.
He's came from pavement, the FCS 305s.
And then.
Dabbled in four 10s.
Dabbled in four 10s a little bit, but 360s.
He had some 360 ones last year.
And he ran some four 10s.
But I mean, he hasn't ran a ton of four 10s yet.
Yeah.
Not in comparison to some people, for sure.
Pull the king's roll last year.
Yeah.
And we saw his old ride.
And I think we talked about it.
But I don't know.
We might have.
I think we did.
I know they released like their graphic scheme,
but they're night as in the 11N.
So another young guy from our area
getting another boost in program.
Yeah.
It kind of looks because everybody's like, well,
they're going to run the All Stars.
They're going to run this or that.
I think they're going to do true 11N style 360s
and four 10s.
Because the only reason I say that,
because it was kind of a question mark,
is GOSS had a thing.
Who's going to be your favorite GOSS driver?
Who do you want to see win?
And Darren's mom posted, well, of course, Darren Knight.
So it tells me they're going to run some both like that.
Like the new Maishikara?
Yes.
I mean, no matter who's been it, Harley White.
I mean, people has been it.
It's rain both.
Yeah.
Even when Buddy was in it, they ran up and everything.
Buddy was in it.
That's what I mean.
So I think it's sticking to that true outlaw style.
Yeah.
What should be cool?
It'll be good for Darren.
Mm-hmm.
Other racing going on.
The Lucas oil late models were still in Florida
and then to Georgia.
They started their week at last week at Ocala
two weeks ago now, I guess.
Um, excuse me, opening night.
Sorry, I go back in some brand.
I'm sorry.
Moran won the opening night at Ocala.
Brand Shepherd won night two because Shepherd
was in the mix with Moran on night when I watched that race.
And then, let's say, Don O'Neill, Hudson O'Neill
got the win on Thursday, Friday.
O'Neill went back to back.
Yep.
Or did they rain out?
Yeah, they rained out the one night, Friday night.
Yeah, they rained out on Friday night.
So they raced Thursday and Saturday.
Then Hudson won on Saturday.
Yeah, 25,000 went over to and suffered a flat tire
after lap 37.
So Hudson O'Neill and Heritage Leading took her off from there.
Then they went to Golden Isle, which Jonathan Davenport
came back for Ocala.
Yeah.
Did not have the best results.
No.
What night was it when he looped it
in front of the whole field?
And it was a heat race, I think, wasn't it?
Yeah, I'd tore up some stuff and some other people's stuff
and just said he misjudged it, whatever.
Oh, yeah, that's when he hooked Bronson.
Yes, that's what I was going to say.
I couldn't remember.
And Spector got caught in Bronson.
And he admitted it, which I was surprised he admitted it
because everybody, oh, Bronson, I'm like, dude,
that, I don't see how that was Bronson's fault
on JD even says, I just misjudged it.
I think it was at Ocala where Bronson came up
with a new slogan and got a new t-shirt out there.
The hot dog stand is open.
Yes.
If you haven't watched Kyle Bronson's Speed Weeks,
it seems like nothing's gone his way.
And in a moment, interview after, I believe,
it was a heat race, he said, if it was rain and vaginas,
I'd still get hit by a wiener.
So began the pre-orders for the Bronson's hot dog stand
t-shirt.
I'd go to Ranch RaceWare, Race Ranch, RaceWare?
Yeah, Race Ranch.
Yeah, go to Race Ranch's website.
I believe it's open for pre-order.
It might actually be for sale now,
because I think it was this week it was supposed to go, but.
One, Race Ranch is always on it.
Yes.
Big time.
And two, it's like, I don't know how you don't like Kyle
Bronson, because he's got a lot of always fun sayings.
But yeah, it just, yeah, I think it was the amen.
Because one is he was in position.
He was running, I think he was leading the amen in Broker.
Because he ended up pulled him, I think.
Yeah, they pulled in.
And yeah, yeah, could have been in a rain and vaginas.
They got hit with a wiener.
But I'd agree with Dustin and James in the booth.
If Oscar Meyer or Park Franks or somebody
don't jump onto this, it's a perfect marketing campaign.
It would be perfect to get involved.
Then they moved up to Bronson's former track
that he used to be part owner of.
I think he's sold his side of it now,
but it's a golden aisle speedway.
And it was golden.
Which, you know, previous years, they
tried to race it in January.
It was always kind of cold, whether it was always
kind of questionable.
But moving it back to March seemed to be the ticket.
First three nights, I had one winner, Jonathan Davenport
from his boat.
Well, they rebanked it a little bit too the way it sounds.
They banked it a little different.
Which makes sense, because the races
there historically haven't been that great.
It always seemed like it was missing just something, so.
They found that something.
Yeah, but Jonathan Davenport won the first three nights,
and then Devin Moran got himself
the win at the finale.
From 22nd.
Which was a hell of a race.
Yes, all four of them was good races.
I mean, each one was like, man, this is great.
This is great.
Then you thought you had the race of the week
on Thursday, then Friday.
It's like, man, just as good as Thursday, then Saturday.
He's like, what in the hell is actually really happening?
Because Tray Mills, come on, nowhere
to lead his first slaps.
Looked like he could have the win in the bag,
and just entered.
They was running four wide for lead,
and he entered too high and gotten up on the wall,
and Huddy had nowhere to go, but into him,
and Mills took a hell of a flip.
Yeah, and landed up on the bank outside of the wall.
Which ended up taking Huddy out, too.
Then Max Blair, that had taken
his last emergency provisional, started 25th,
gave him the lead, and Devon, from 22nd to 2nd,
that was in the B main.
So 1st and 2nd started deep in the field.
Yeah, it was wild.
Yeah, so Devon Moran won.
Max Blair second, Garrett Albuson third.
And yeah, three of the top four
started further back in 20.
Moran 22nd, Blair 25th, and 4th place, Claire Harris, 24th.
Yes, I mean, it was spectacular.
I mean, all four nights were excellent.
I watched all four nights, and they was spectacular.
And I was kicking myself in the ass for not going,
because we was talking about going Friday and Saturday.
Everybody, James Honeycutt and Ken Bomber down there,
and sending me snapchats from the beach, and, oh, it's only
80 here, and we're on the beach drinking a beer,
and we're like, ugh.
They suck.
Yes.
Yeah, so the points leaving, gold,
Nile, sorry, blanked out there for a minute.
Hudson O'Neill leads by 20 points.
Yeah, because all the drops are done now, because they drop.
They took the best five or eight out of everything, I think.
Yeah, out of all Florida, Georgia Speedway.
I think it's the best eight, so.
So Hudson leads.
That jumbled it a little bit.
Devon, by 20, goes back a little further to Brandon
Overton in third, and then Clay Harris is your fourth place.
Dude, he had an excellent.
And then five points behind him is Ricky Thornton, Jr. in fifth.
And he had such a shitty.
Yeah, he just couldn't get it.
Didn't win at all.
Couldn't get it.
It was weird.
No, and Clay Harris, I mean, he's coming out of the box hot.
Florida kid.
Yep.
So should be, you know, obviously,
probably going to be competitive in that area.
He knows the places very well, so that's all the race
results I got.
Let me see.
I was announced.
We talked about our home track Attica.
They announced a little bit of a new format for this year.
Yep.
Well, I guess.
Aiming challenge.
It was the aiming challenge kind of deal going.
My vote was for a winner circle challenge,
but I guess that didn't work.
Thought I'd hear more negative about it,
but it doesn't seem to be so bad.
I guess, Dwayne, what do you think?
And explain to everyone what the challenge is.
So what it is can't happen the first week,
because it'll be the first week whenever that is.
But starting the second week, all three divisions,
not just one division, all three divisions,
the main winners from the week before,
if they're in the redraw.
So if it's a two heat race format,
you automatically get the six.
If it's a three or four race heat format, which the top.
So the top two draw in each heat,
then the two fastest qualifiers.
Fastest from each group.
Well, in the four tens, they don't split the groups
in the leg models.
Yeah, so it's two fastest qualifiers.
So anyways, basically it's the top two in each heat,
then two fastest qualifiers go in the redraw.
So two heat race format, six redraw.
If you won the aiming the week before
and you're automatically in redraw, you get six.
If it's three or four heat race format,
or it's the top two and then the two fastest,
you automatically get the eight.
So technically, you could be two spots better
than the four heat race format,
because 10 redraw, there's time guys has drawn 10.
You know, so, but you gotta be in the redraw.
And here's the good part.
If they come back and win the aiming,
say like Cap Henry or Jamie Miller or Kyle Moore
or Rusty Slink have several times,
even Devin Shields, when he was hot,
at one time he's slow and old or something now,
I don't know.
Too many, he's got too much salt on cars.
Too much, he's got too much lion,
too many lion colors on that car.
Yeah, that's the problem.
You got the lions, you know, they've got
not enough grit.
Jared Goff up there throwing interceptions.
Not enough grit.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
But Dane Campbell is not the crew chief.
Let's just put it that way of his car.
Any, let's not touch it.
But anyways, if you come back and win,
so you get the, get six or eight
and you come back and win that night, four tens,
you get a thousand dollar bonus,
late models, 750, 305s, 500 bucks.
And so to me, I don't think it's that bad
because it's no worse than drawing bad.
A shit pill, which happens all the time.
Yes, it happens.
It's a lot.
Cap won from eight many times last year.
So, and you get extra money.
So basically, if you win, you're going for 5,000
no matter what the next time in a four ten,
late models you're going for 2750,
305s you're going for 1,500.
You're almost, you know, you're getting 50% more pay
to win on the four or 305s.
I mean, so I think that's why they're not complaining
because one, I get it, John Bors's goal with this
is he wants new winners.
Same guys are always winning.
And you hear that from Attic all the time.
But same guys always winning, same guys always winning.
Well, they're good.
Yeah.
You know, and there's not a sloush field at Attica
so they're earning that every night.
But he wants to get, you know,
more winners, which I get
because people get tired of seeing the same winners.
I get it.
But one, I think it was put together,
if you're going to do something like,
because you're handicapping them or penalizing them,
you penalize them for being good.
It's what you're doing.
I mean, put all the bullshit aside,
you penalize them for being good.
So you're not penalizing them or it's out of reach.
And you're giving them a good bonus, I think.
I mean, I think that's good money
because you're still racing the same amount
because I seen some guy on there bitching,
well, it's going to take more tires
and more fuel and blah, blah, blah.
It's the same amount of laps.
Yeah.
There's nothing that's changing.
You're still starting and you could start
in that position anyways.
Yeah.
So you're kind of,
if you're bitching,
you're bitching about something
that you still could be doing anyways
and not get any money for.
Yeah.
Because it's not like they're having you go
after the redraw because a lot of plays like Pennsylvania,
you're going after the redraw, you know,
or you're going, you know, deep in the field
where this isn't too deep or you can't win.
Yeah.
So, and you're getting...
Yeah, it's not like a $200 bonus.
No, the argument is, well, you know,
what's it going to do to the point standings?
Because if these guys start second or third
and win, now if they start eight and get second,
they're going to get less points.
But, I mean, the late mile race has been close.
The 305s and 410s the last few years
that could have even been close.
So maybe it'll tighten it up.
Maybe it won't.
Yeah.
And if you try it, you try it.
Right?
Like you can always change it, but...
Yeah.
I mean, I don't think it's...
I think that I like it because they're giving them a bonus.
Now, if they just like,
or just penalize you and penalize you because you're good,
then I wouldn't like so much.
But I like that it's not...
It's a good bonus, like you said.
It's not 200 bucks or 300 bucks.
It's healthy.
Yeah.
And what I like about it is too,
it's not out of the realm.
I mean, there's a very good chance
you could be starting that spot anyways.
It's not...
Or worse.
Yeah, you're not giving them a spot that is out of...
Yeah, we're redrawing 10, but you're going to start 11th.
Yeah, or, you know,
okay, we got to redraw six and you got to start 10.
Like, you know, so I don't think it's a bad deal.
Yeah.
I mean, it'll be interesting to see how it goes.
I think John's going to pay out a lot more extra money
than he thinks he's going to.
Yeah.
I really do.
Tell me Jamie Miller and Zeph Snyder's only going to win
one run race doing it this way.
Yeah.
Or Cap's only going to win one.
Or Kyle Moore.
Or Russia Slank's only going to win one.
I see Rusty didn't seem he was too happy about it.
Yeah.
But, dude, he's racing this extra money.
I don't know, like, if you can't win from six.
Well, it's almost three grand to win for them.
Yeah.
Which is pretty big money for late models around here.
So...
Yeah.
I mean, I would say the downside is how
may or may not affect the points.
I'm also a believer if you're fast, you're fast.
Right.
So...
I mean, it's tough.
I think the toughest part, I do think the toughest
will be the late models.
Because you've got eight really good cars.
I mean, at least.
Yeah.
You know, the top five, six, eight guys there are,
I mean...
Pretty tough.
Or the equal.
Mm-hmm.
And then sprint cars, Cap's been the dominant guy,
but I mean, there's other guys that's been doing good
in the 410s.
So I still think whoever, it could be Cap,
it could be Ussell, it could be Mintz,
it could be Chris, you know, Chris Andrews
getting on a roll or whoever.
Night is coming now.
Trey Jacobs.
Yeah.
I mean, you know, so I think these guys will win.
I think the one that'll probably still stay the same
the most is the 305s.
Yeah.
Maybe not, but I think it will.
I think it'll do its goal.
I think it'll get a few new winners,
but I also think that there's gonna be some bonuses
I don't think you're gonna get.
I don't think you're gonna have 20 races
and 20 different winners.
Yeah, yeah, for sure.
Yeah.
I think you might gain two or three new winners.
Exactly.
Two or three new winners is what I think,
which lets me realize that it needs to be.
Yeah.
I mean, don't get me wrong.
I mean, the people do don't like seeing
the same people win all the time.
I mean, the people that win and love it
and you can't, you know, everybody wants to penalize
a person that's good, but I mean, I get it
because you want to see different winners
and plus as expensive as it is,
it's nice to get a few different people in victory lane.
Yeah.
And I think like if you go to cap on a regular night
and say, hey, if you start sixth tonight,
we'll pay an extra $1,000.
If you win, you take that in a heartbeat.
I would think so.
Right.
Especially after last year, the way you ran.
Like every week he would do that if he had the chance.
Well, he might have a decent shot.
Yeah, I mean, I guarantee he's going
to be taking $5,000 couple of times.
Yeah, which for a team like him, that means a lot.
I think some other guys can, too.
I mean, I think it's, yeah, like one of the free spirits.
Well, it's cap injury or all, but it's not just cap.
I mean, we see Jamie Miller.
I sure stuff Snyder won a few then, you know,
Rusty and Kyle Moore.
I said it two years ago.
Kyle Moore won all kinds of races.
Yeah, so, yeah, I like it.
Like I said, I mean, you're giving the guys more money,
so it's not just, hey, you're good,
and we don't want you winning type thing.
You go back there and earn it.
I also like that it's good money.
Like you said, like how many times have we been a race?
And they're like, oh, they're offering $200
to the car who starts eight to win the race.
And it's like, whoop-de-doo, that's not even a tire.
Yeah, you're not doing anything different.
You're still running the same amount of laps, same deal.
And like I said, you're still not penalizing
outside of the redraw.
If you're in the redraw,
you're basically getting one of the worst pills.
Yeah, yeah.
And that means you won the week before.
Yeah.
You know, so.
Yeah, it'll be fun trial, I think.
It'll be good to see.
I mean, see how it works out.
We can always change it for next year.
Yeah.
I mean.
You know.
Yeah, I don't.
And how many times are we gonna have some, you know,
especially in this season,
we get guys who don't come back regularly.
Right.
Just, you know, getting a race or two in.
So.
Well, there's a lot of ifs.
I mean, you gotta be in the redraw.
Now granted, most of the guys that win the week before
usually are back in the redraw the next week.
But who knows?
It should happens.
I mean, the competition is good at Attica
and all three divisions.
So it's very possible they might not be in the redraw.
Yeah, it's kind of crazy to think that or say that out loud
because people who are watching from a distance
see this CapHenry guy wins every week and think, you know,
wow, there's not that much competition there or something.
But then there's literally sprint car drivers
you'll talk to that go,
we can't hang at Attica and Fremont
with that competition right now.
So we'll go to Butler Wayne County to get feature laps.
There's two or three times
when Cap started eighth last year.
It's like everybody gave him a free invite on top.
Nobody on the starts, nobody clogged up the top lane
and he was in third by the time there's a turn three
because nobody's run low and he just on the outside.
It's like the best way to not have him win every week
is on the starts, plug the top hot side
if you're starting eight.
Plug the top lane.
Yeah, I'm sure Cap appreciated you saying that.
Well, I mean, seriously, he'll just dive underneath him,
but still.
Yeah, there's been times coming off of two.
He's like top two or three and starting.
Yeah, nobody runs high.
He's just like, hey, I can say it all I want.
I mean, they get past my every week
and they still ain't smart enough to move up.
So I can say it all I want.
They're gonna listen.
Yeah.
So that'll be interesting new format.
We'll let you guys know how it goes
and keep up the keep up.
Keep you up to date as to what people are saying
and what drivers are thinking.
Yeah, we'll see.
I mean, I don't think it's as terrible
as it sounds in all reality.
Yeah, I mean, there's times you win a heat race
and you're feeling like the shit
and then you go to that pill draw buddy
and you get to 10.
Yeah.
So it happens more than you'd like to know.
Yeah, everybody hates the pill draw,
but at least now you get rewarded for.
Yeah, being fast.
I mean, penalized and rewarded in a way.
Yeah, I mean, basically you're handicapping them
for being good, but still.
It's attainable though.
Like you said, it's attainable.
Oh, 100%.
It's not like, okay, yeah, you gotta start last
and try to win or something.
Or, you know, some of those places,
like I think Pennsylvania,
some of those, you gotta start like 12 or 14th.
If you're not, you know,
it goes by the average point of the deal.
If you go in there,
some of those tracks are weird like that.
I think Knoxville's the same way.
Yeah.
Yep.
But we'll keep you guys up to date with how it goes
once we start racing, that is.
Yeah.
Oh, the other thing I got on my notes,
did you see all the late model driver changes?
Oh yeah.
Last week or the week before, whatever.
Yeah, that's a.
Hedgecocks out at the 79.
They called Donald McIntosh back.
Yep.
And then Cody Overton,
I don't know if it's a permanent deal,
but he was in the 15K Bruce Kankar,
who's helping him with his outlaw stuff this year.
Well, Tyler Bruning asked him to drive.
Yeah.
They're 16.
Because Bruning got hurt and then he tried racing.
I guess he's like, no, I ain't ready yet.
So they got Overton in it until Bruning feels better.
Because that's part of Bruning's own part of that, right?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Tyler's dad's the owner.
Yeah, so he didn't fire Tyler.
No, no.
Because everybody thought, oh, what the hell?
Yeah, but no.
They're like, hey, can you come drive this?
Yeah, it's bell rung a little bit, it sounds like.
And he just said, put some things into perspective.
And then, yeah, Hedgecock went to the 15K.
Gonna try to keep on Lucas Oil, because that was their plan.
But the Hicks, them and Hedgecock and the Hicks team
didn't gel or something, so.
Yeah, then Hedgecock or McIntosh,
so I'm like, they're still going to be on Lucas.
They're going to be on Lucas Oil with Hedgecock.
So I assume they're going to be back on Lucas.
Yeah, I hadn't heard if that's a permanent deal.
McIntosh, that's his third ride already this season.
Yeah, and he was trying to.
With Coltman Farms.
Yeah, he had a deal, felt through, didn't have anything,
and Hicks called him back, so.
Yeah.
Man, we're getting started early in late models, man.
No shortage of drama.
No, crazy, crazy, crazy.
So I don't have anything else on my notes, Dwayne.
Is there anything else that comes to mind?
Put you on the spot here.
No, no, no, no.
High limits and I'll open up their season this weekend.
You see, the Reco-Abru reveal, that was a big deal.
Yeah, yeah.
Car Quest on his ride with Tony Stewart.
Yeah, so it'll be the first weekend outlaws,
and Lucas raced the same.
Yeah, Gio got the car out at Talladega, I believe.
Yeah.
Let's get her broken in before he hit it out west, so.
So yeah, I mean, no, I can't think of anything else.
Oh, no.
I know USAC going on.
Dude, there's all kind of Power Eye and USAC,
because now you see Extreme Midgets is officially,
well, they said they're not going to have a schedule,
but now they're going to do Special Mill Bridge and Peevely.
Got you.
Iron Man and Mill Bridge is all they're having.
But it's crazy, because Power Eye paid more.
They've paid $4,000 or $5,000 to win in the last few years.
Now it's down to only a few cars.
Some of the Power Eye shows when I got 10 and 12 cars.
Now everybody's running Power Eye and USAC.
I've seen, well, you see Jacob Denny got part of the 21AZ
Sprint car, right?
Oh, yes.
Because we asked about, and he's splitting it,
I think, with Cale Drake.
Yeah, I did see that.
For Gavin Miller.
I don't know, it was one of those guys.
No, it was Gavin Miller.
It's one of those guys that like to recycle cars.
Yeah.
So 21AZ, the only thing I can figure out, I don't know
why you wouldn't put Jacob Denny full time.
I mean, you must want somebody that's going to win,
and then you'll want practice building cars because.
Yeah.
But I mean, don't get me wrong, I think
Gavin Miller's fast, but he destroys a lot of shit.
Yeah, part-time hires for both of them, so.
So I don't know who's running what part of the season
in that car, but.
Yeah, it didn't say it's just curb records,
who's a huge coon supporter, who both those guys race for.
And you see Trey Osborn quit his job?
Well, yeah, we talked about that to go out.
USAC racing.
Yeah, so that'll be interesting.
And then, yeah, there's some midget guys running
Power I in USAC.
So it looks like midgets should be pretty strong.
Yeah, and I guess we didn't gloss over CJ Leary out
of the 21AZ, right?
Yes.
He had to start his own team again.
Back to his favorite team, that hasn't been out for a couple
of years.
Yeah.
And his dad always helped him.
His dad passed away.
So he was, you know.
Chuck, that's the engine in there.
Yep, that's what that said.
Chuck, because the engine they had ordered.
Yeah, it sat for a couple of years because they didn't need it
because they didn't have their own family stuff.
So they just said, all right.
Yeah, I mean, they've had their Chuck had his own family
stuff for a long time.
And then CJ had it, then got some rides.
And so it sounds like a lot of people's back in him.
So it'll be interesting.
Sounds like to me, that's what he's racing all year.
Yeah.
So it sounds like he's still got a wing car too.
Sounds like they may do a little bit of wing stuff too.
Gotcha.
We know we're about eight miles back in action this weekend.
Yep.
Down in Tansi.
Tansi.
Looks looks like weather down there.
It's going to be better than here.
Looks like Jimmy Owens, I think,
is supposed to be racing too in there.
Yeah, one of Vic Hill's cars.
Vic Hill's cars.
The blue and yellow number 20.
Dale McDowell is supposed to be making his, I think,
debut for the year too because he had some catracks.
Yes.
Yes, seeing fine, ready to go back racing.
Oh, 360s in California race.
I don't know if you see it.
Silver dollar.
Brad Sweet actually was there on hand promoting both nights.
Oh.
Austin Wood, young 16-year-old racer, 16 or 17,
won on Saturday.
I seen that one Friday night.
I forget who won.
But the track was juice both nights.
They tore the shit out of the cars the first night.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
Like both leaders were like the one in turn one
and the leader bicycle and second place bicycle
and two other guys' bicycles.
Like the first two or three guys all flipped in the same corner
in the lap car some shit.
Yeah, they tore some shit up the first night.
Oh, Sean Becker won the first night.
Gotcha, I'm looking at results right now.
Yeah, they didn't have a lot of cars.
Friday night didn't look like a good crowd at all.
Saturday night looked like a better crowd.
But Sweet made his promoter deal there.
They just run the show.
Andy Forsberg won the Silver Cup opener.
OK, yeah, Matt Becker.
Forsberg, that's right.
Yeah, Austin Wood second, Landon Brooks third.
Yeah, and Wood won the second night.
Yeah, I see the, I don't know who was in it,
the 17 snow car was out there racing.
Yes, it flipped one night.
It was in our area for a while, then.
Yeah, it's kind of skated around a little bit.
Yeah, so.
Well, when All-Stars was a $50,000-a-wind deal,
it rather than ran that.
Yeah, because KTJ was in one of those.
Yeah.
Carson Short, I think, was in it for a minute.
Yeah.
Yeah, it's had some drivers.
Yeah, I got nothing else.
What do you got, anything?
I think that's it.
I believe.
Keep it a short episode this week.
I'm sure we're forgetting something.
I'm sure we are.
I'm sure we are.
But you know what?
Nobody cares.
Oh, did you hear?
I'm not going to bring any names out, but you know,
did you hear our buddy Chaz as good in person
to set by at a race?
No.
That, you know, that he's a real asshole
and a real moron and stands.
I mean.
Because I know some people that set by him in Florida
and they said he was drunk and foul mouth
and had their kids there.
And he was just like, who is this blabbering idiot, Chaz?
He's like, he was making some good deals.
Then he was whining because he had
to pay for a ticket the first night at Golden Isles
and it wasn't on the media list, blah, blah, blah.
It's like, yeah.
I don't understand why tracks let him in.
Just like that, people are like, the people I know,
they're just like, man, they're like, that guy
is a complete moron.
He's drunk, yelling and stands, yelling, cheering at crash.
Oh my God.
You know, just real good media guy there.
Oh yeah, Lincoln Speedway, I forgot about them.
Oh yeah, they raced.
They're on my notes.
They raced yesterday.
Yesterday and did they race Sunday?
They raced yesterday.
The week before was Saturday and they
had to rain out Sunday.
Correct.
Yeah.
Same winter, both nights.
Macri?
No, Chase Deets.
Deets, that's right.
Macri flipped yesterday.
Yeah, the first week, Zef Sable.
Second in the AFCS point slash year,
started on the pole and ended up eighth.
Guess he pulled some massive wheelies down the straightaway,
though it's lost him the lead.
Then he pulled another one and all but flipped
and put him back to eighth and he stayed there.
Because right now the track's really one lane.
Yeah, it's very juice, these early races in the year.
But yeah, I think I saw the opening day.
But Chase Deets won from sixth.
Hell of a crowd, as usual.
Pennsylvania people.
That was a golden aisle.
They had a hell of a crowd.
On Saturday.
Saturday.
Yeah, the first couple nights didn't look that good.
Yeah.
Yeah, like in Pennsylvania people,
one division, 40 degrees.
Well, yesterday was a little better.
First night's 40 degrees and I mean standing room only.
And the grandstand's in the infield.
Yep, they get out the car hearts
and they go watch some racing, man.
They love it out there, so.
Try that in Ohio.
And you know, we've got people already bitching about Attica.
You know, Lincoln's been racing for two weeks.
And you know, we've got people bitching about Attica
trying to race this week.
Oh my God, man, it's cold, it's hot.
Yeah, we tried.
We did some afternoon shows once upon a time
that everyone bitched.
The track was too slick, so.
There's just no winning sometimes with people, I guess.
Dude, and Ohio's weird about it.
I mean, that's why I like traveling.
You go to these other states and that.
You don't hear the, I don't know, the whine-ease
goes out of the people and you go to other places, it seems.
Yeah, there's happy be there.
Yeah.
Drinking some beers, even if it's 30 degrees out.
40 degrees out.
Having a good time.
Yeah.
All right, well, we'll keep it short this week.
Hopefully that's not too much of a problem for everyone
out there listening.
Again, appreciate you tuning in again.
Glad we're back face to face.
Yes.
Well, I was missing out on its face.
I've been seeing it for so long.
Liar.
We'll be back in a couple of weeks.
We'll do every other week, usually
until we start racing more regularly around here.
So you'll miss us next week.
But the week after, we hope to be back.
Maybe we'll even have a race or two in by then.
Who knows.
Maybe.
So if we did some interviews, we could do that stuff,
too.
We could.
Could.
Could.
We'll see.
Maybe.
Maybe not.
Anyway, hope you all have a great week.
Great couple of weeks.
Get out to a race if they start racing in your area.
Go support a driver.
Go support the track.
Or in your area.
Because there's more than just people in our area that listen.
So I said it, in your area.
Yeah.
So I said it, wherever they're listening.
We haven't heard from some of our fans for a while.
I know.
I don't listen anymore.
I talked to Warchmore Dabs the other day.
Oh, yeah?
Oh, yeah.
Nice.
He's still a fan of ours.
Good.
Good.
I'm glad.
They're smaller people.
I don't know if they fell off face to the earth.
Yeah.
I mean.
Yeah.
Maybe we'll do fan questions or something.
He's a big plumber.
He's still a fan.
Oh, yeah.
Driving his Toyota around.
Anyway, hope you all have a great couple of weeks.
We'll see you next time.
As always, stay dirty.
Bye-bye.
