Now dad the story this morning that I wanted to focus in on comes by way of Mazda Nisan
and Hyundai. I think they have a huge problem and it's showing up here at the end of the year.
We're turning our attention dad to the days supply inventory chart that comes from Katsa Automotive
and you can see here there are many brands that have an oversupply of inventory yesterday we
talked about it we talked about it Friday as well the glut of 2024 and 2025 inventory this is
even gotten picked up over by car dealership guy dealers face this is in all caps by the way dealers
face year end inventory glut as 2024 2025 models pile up dad these brands and what could I call
out by name Mazda right here yeah me son Hyundai there are many others as well but those three in
particular have over a 100 days supply of inventory right now that means they have a huge problem
during their busiest time of year that tells me that there are some deals to be had right now.
Well there should be and if I were one of those dealers and I was overstocked and I know that
the key Hyundai dealers have suggested to both their sister brands that they would like to have
a 60 day or lower day supply of cars going in the next year and for all of next year so for
Hyundai to be well over 100 Mazda to be over 100 Nissan to be over 100 yeah that's a problem
for them how much they will have sold down during the month of December remains to be seen I have
heard some rumblings in the industry that the December is not going quite as well as many dealers
had hoped it could end up being a December to remember for all the wrong reasons we shall see
come the the fifth or sixth of January when we get a break out of what everybody did and since
it'll be quarterly yeah all the manufacturers will be reporting be reporting their sales
but yeah if you're if you are one of the brands that is as way too many cars on dealer lots
yeah there there shouldn't be motivation from those dealers to move the metal as we said.
Motivation from the dealers also motivation from the manufacturer so for those of you that don't

place one of those materials that we have is every 0% financing offer for December 2025 so let's
take a quick pass through this dead Chevrolet as 0% financing on a handful of vehicles here
including things beyond their electric vehicles we didn't even include Chevrolet in our title here
today we want to Silverado you want to trailblaze you want an equinox 0% financing for 36 months
okay let's look back at our chart here Chevrolet dad when I look here they actually have an 84
days supply inventory that's on the low end for the auto industry right now yet there's still
being aggressive with some of these offers we come back over a brand that we know has way too much
inventory dodge the hornet has 0% financing for 72 months so we see the pain that some of these
brands are in and obviously I'll keep going down here and let's go for well the thing is when
you look at that it's the Daytona charger or Dodge charge your Daytona and they dodge hornet
but they're the 2024 model years not the 2025 model years or I guess they're hoping they're
there maybe they won't be built in any 2026s but you're talking 0% interest for 72 months at six
years for vehicles that are essentially two year old vehicles come January 1st now the saving
grace for people who look at vehicles like that is when you go to trade it in it will appear to
have two years lower mileage if you drive the average 12 to 15 thousand miles a year so but it's
not going to help the value of it that much I don't think so also we're going to spend some time
on the car edge machine today drop some areas where you're located and vehicles that you're
interested in let's look at local market conditions to get a sense here because we are in the final
count down we're in the last 48 hours between now and the end of the year where these dealers have
the stair step these stair step programs many of them where they have big incentives that they're
on the cusp of hitting and so you obviously as a customer have a ton of negotiating leverage forward
let's keep going here 0% financing for 36 months on the Explorer F-150 the super duty which is the
first time this year they've offered 0% financing on the super duty which I think is huge and obviously
on the Machi as well he'd like to see it for more than 36 months but I guess when we come back over to
our handy dandy chart over here the fact that Ford right there has a 118 days supply of inventory
maybe they're not feeling the pain quite enough to offer an even more compelling incentive and
those people who take advantage of that for 36 months will help grow the percentage of
people out there whose auto-grown payments are in excess of $1,000 a month because you're not
financing any of those vehicles for three years and not having unless you're putting a poop ton of
money down there's no way to finance that for three years and have a payment under $1,000 a month
true very very true let's keep going here dad Genesis getting in on the fun and then we're
to hit some of the brands that are in the title today should the GV70 EV 0% financing for 60
months not to say and that's a 2026 2026 GMC dad having to get in on the fun as well with 25 and
26 Sierra's and the Hummer EV 0% financing for 36 months even Honda is offering some 0% financing
but what he knows for the prologue is for 60 months and now here we go Hyundai one of the brands
that I mentioned in the title today's show let's see dad they are offering 0% financing look at
this for 48 months on 2025 ionic sixes for 60 months on the 25 Hyundai Santa Fe and Hyundai two
sods 60 months 0% financing on 90 V that's a very good deal 72 months on the ionic five so let this
sit 2025 on the 25 I yeah let this sink in for a second Hyundai knows you know let's come back to
our handy dandy chart that shows how much inventory there is Hyundai has a 112 days supply of
inventory nationwide you said at a moment ago dealers want that number to be 60 well it is
Hyundai doing they're offering huge incentives 0% financing for 60 months on the 25s for the
Santa Fe and the two son that's yeah that's doesn't get any better than that well unless we
start going into negative 80 ours and I don't see that happen at any time soon let's take a second
here dad and look at Kia Kia is also offering some very very aggressive incentives here
going on 25 and 26 model year vehicles but they're focused more on their EVs 0% financing for 60
months on the 2026 EV 9 as well as 2025 Kia Nero's then the Nero EV gets 72 months of 0%
financing and the EV 6 gets 72 months of 0% financing so again very aggressive but in this case more
so on the EVs Jeep has to get aggressive dad but they're only doing 0% financing on the wagon
near S their EV Jeep is not offering 0% financing on any other models at the moment a huge miss
we think from this brand well it makes you wonder why Jeep dealers have any faith in in the
Stellantis's management to really turn things around for next year when the only model that they're
offering 0% on this is the grand wagon here and and even at 0% interest it's virtually impossible
to sell that fear and dad we go back to our handy dandy days supply what's Jeep at all the way
over here zoom in 148 days supply inventory well the good news is they'll probably still be cracking
under it come January 1st they'll have plenty more than 100 come January 1st let's keep going
here we've got Lexus next on our list of 0% financing offers we've got the RZ the 2026 RZ excuse me
for 72 months of good offer from Lexus Lincoln has to get in on the phone as well 0% financing
for 48 months on the course air the Nautilus and the aviator all 2025s then dead Mitsubishi we know
Mitsubishi has been struggling 0% financing across their whole lineup on all 25s the outlander clips
across outlander sport and then Nissan another brand that I mentioned in the title today show look
at this 0% financing for 60 months on all 25 rogues pathfinders and maranos that's Nissan
reaching deep in to put an offer out there that is compelling to customers and then you know
they're hopeful it will be compelling there's no way of well there is a way of knowing and we'll know
come come January 6th or right around there when all the manufacturers report their sales for
December now we're going to talk about the Nissan desperation a little bit more in just a moment
but before we do another thing we know dad is that there are many people out there that are
struggling from the same problem which is that data brokers are selling their information online
in anyone and by things like your phone number your social security number and so much more
are sold online every single day and they're available to marketers scammers and the elusive

need from the manufacturer so we said at a moment ago there's 0% financing for 60 months on these
vehicles now the manufacturers incentivize the sale of vehicles in two ways yeah one with incentives
to consumers yeah obviously here 0% financing for 60 months is a big deal they also do incentive
money to the dealers and so Nissan's one of the brands that I wanted to call out in particular
because I'll go back to our handy dandy shark usually chart that shows the days supply of inventory
where are you Nissan 109 days supply that's way way way way too high so Nissan dad is also putting
money where their mouth is yeah there's doing incentives to the dealers to sell inventory as well
I think if I'm not mistaken what was it up to $1,200 yeah on their stair step program and basically
the way the stair step program works is the dealership is given a sales goal to hit of they hit it
they they might get $400 for the first stage of it if they hit the second stage Michael
update $800 per vehicle sold if they hit the third stage of it the highest sales penetration
stage of it it goes up to $1,200 per vehicle sold so if if you're you know a medium sized Nissan
dealers sell 100 vehicles and hit your your highest stair step goal you're talking about an extra
$120,000 of gross profit coming into the store that's huge did you know Microsoft has officially

money yeah it's a ton of money yeah and so would you lose a thousand bucks on a card deal to get
120 absolutely and that is exactly the dynamic that we're seeing right now let's keep running through
a dead because we've got another brand that I put on the list here that I want to make sure we
cover but ram we know ram is struggling mildly and so ram's offering 0% financing for 72 months
wow on the ram 1500 that's a huge off yes especially when you think about how expensive those ram 1500s
are yeah actually you know finance yes let's actually let's let's go there for a second then
but it's actually do our first live experiments I'm gonna go to car edge cars search here
let's do what was it it was a ram yes man ready 1500 there's a 1500 now a couple things I
want to call out here by the way y'all we just updated the car search like literally today now
uh below the um uh model we'll show trim so I don't know if you want to choose a couple trims
here we can do this together we can do sure the big horn and we'll do the Laramie and we'll do
I don't know the rabble so you can select multiple trims and dad you can actually now select bed length
over on the car hedge car search so I know that's something that many people are really really
excited about they want to be able to sort by bed lengths we'll just do regular on the bed length
here and now we'll do long too all right so we'll be sure we're doing all of them just demonstrate
the capabilities all right so dad here's what I want to do I want to do two things here one is I want
to click into one of these dog on things we'll do the first one right here just got on their lot
24 days ago these are all 2026s let's take a quick peek MSRP of 73,930 dollars well actually
should we do a 2025 dad I think we should do a 2025 because that's where the zero percent of
financing offers right now yeah let's just quickly take a peek though what is the offer let's
scroll down here incentives yeah the current offer look at that the current offer on the 26
is 4.9% for 36 months do you think a ram is incentivizing the sale of the 25s I think they
understand they have a year to sell those 2026s all right so let's go back and let's do year here
so let's go 20 25 dude I feel really good by the way about bed blanks and trims that's huge that's
huge that's huge well it depends on whether it's short yeah that's yeah yeah that'll determine
what's huge all right let's find let's find all these are 59,000 I want come on give me give me
there's a 52,000 all right well whatever they're all 59,000 we'll do the first one here actually
it's got 20 300 miles we'll do this one right here so dad this particular vehicle at the SRP
59,240 dollars they've advertised this for 52,034 dollars what I want to look at dad though
with the negotiation position so the day supply of inventory is actually quite low because so many
are selling right now which makes sense because they're incentivizing the sale but I want to go
all the way down to our mom well and you're in Omaha which is probably a pretty big truck area
here's what I wanted to get to though let's do the monthly payment calculator okay because let's
imagine we're doing a 60 month term let's do 72 months because that's what the offer is 72 months
normal new car interest rate eight percent makes sense yeah my monthly payment would be a
thousand and fifty one dollars okay so let's take a quick peek how much is thelantis actually
eating here one thousand and fifty one dollars is what we had before yes let's now make that a zero
percent interest yes eight hundred twenty three dollars eight hundred and thirty three dollars
it's almost like he does this for a living that's a huge that's a huge incentive that was
a hundred and eighteen dollars a month for 72 months so just just the hundred Porsche had
seventy two hundred dollars it saved somebody yeah that's over two hundred dollars a month
that's nuts yeah well did you want to save money or not two hundred dollars a month over 72
months wait let me do fourteen fourteen thousand four hundred dollars yeah yeah and your points
that's a lot of money that grams Eden yeah yeah which is why you can only get the 4.9 percent if
you're lucky for thirty six months for the twenty twenty six so it's actually no wonder then when
we look at local market conditions that where was it here the market day supply actually is really
low right yes because dealers in this area have seventy nine for sale yet they've sold a hundred
and twenty two in the last forty five days yeah because it's the end of the year and round is okay
between the fact that there's zero percent financing only on the twenty five yes and you've got to
imagine we know we've heard from slantist dealers up to three thousand dollars per vehicle sold
in dealer cash yes yeah what do you say there's a deal to be had if if you were we're in fifteen
under there there could be a deal to be had again the headlines in the auto industry papers dealers face
your inventory glad is twenty twenty four twenty five miles pilot okay what are the manufacturers do
what are the dealers do they have to liquidate this stuff is it just it reinforces what I've been saying
forever and that is historically this is the time of year where the manufacturers offer the
the largest incentives both to customers and to dealers so that between the two as the customer
you should be able to get a great deal and don't just rely on well we're getting a zero percent
interest no you need to discount on top of that on on the vehicle there there should be savings
on the selling price of the vehicle plus you get to take advantage of the zero percent interest rate
so there there can be and usually are pretty damn good deals to be had the last month and the
last week of the year now a couple more to take a peek at Subaru's offering zero percent financing
for thirty six months so that ends in just a day or two or two here Volkswagen as well that
pretty desperate here on the tauts yeah zero percent financing for sixty months there and then
the twenty five ID fours for seventy two months now dad Mazda actually does not have any zero percent
financing offers at the moment which I think is very surprising so I'm gonna make a call right now
I wouldn't be surprised if Mazda is very aggressive in January yeah because they're probably not
I'm here we could do a bit of a live experiment on Mazda really quickly come over here so let's go
back we'll shop do again and now instead maybe they're doing aggressive lease deals you know I
think Mazda is being aggressive on the lease front but not offering a zero percent financing I
think is a tremendous miss but let's take a peek so we'll do Mazda and let's do twenty five so
I want to look at you twenty five so this is obviously one that with four thousand miles is
used essentially another one that may be a service loaner okay here we go yeah let's see x five
but I want to take a peek at you excuse me yes come on man
the late hundred fifty five days thirty eight of these for sale but only two of sold in the last
forty five days that's the last preferred and what's the incentive on it one point nine percent
for thirty six months so I'm not saying zero percent financing is gonna make or break things
but zero percent financing would definitely help them sell more of these one would just shoot
and so what is that site to set the stage where I think that needs are gonna have to be
extra aggressive in January um I think it will depend on their bottom line because they're eating
an awful lot in tariff costs sure and so they have limited capabilities as to what they're
able to do because they they they continue to do that and eat as much of the tariff costs as they
can which takes away from being able to throw money towards incentive so they what do you do
choice they have to make well what do you do and you have too many cars I mean dead what we
all said at that point you you know if you are what's this dealership if you are woodhouse
place Mazda in Omaha Nebraska yes and you're looking at the same market insights I mean this is not
good no I'm not saying it is good that's not tenable um or sustainable or sustainable yeah look
at that look at us using these words now let's come here to the chat appreciate this from Mr.
Brains stir three zero three six thank you for the kind of conclusion I've been going back and forth
of the Nissan dealer regarding the Frontier Roush all want only MSRP I'm trying to pay four thousand
dollars under they're not I don't know much about the Roush and that's on specialty if I'm assuming
it's it's a it's a speech their type uh yeah say Frontier Roush yeah well there's might be a
limited availability is that what part of it is let's see let's see let's see kind of seems
that way yeah Nissan Frontier Pro 4 XR by Roush so this dad if you're going to be trying to
purchase a more special TV vehicle yeah there's all the same stuff that we're talking about about
year end and things like that does that also play a role right now or is a little bit different
well you know how many of them are even out there number one um and it's I guess it's a lot of
aftermarket stuff that's done by Roush for those particular Nissan dealers that have some so
if it's limited availability and it's a specialty vehicle uh yeah it's not the same as if you're
looking at a road or a marano it's just not yeah so if you're looking for the rogue or the marano
you're gonna get the zero percent financing for 60 months you're looking for the Roush the more
specialty vehicle you're not getting that easy well it sounds like you're getting MSRP even though
you want four thousand dollars under but that's why market conditions dictate well and that's
why specially vehicles are specially vehicles so yeah if there's not a lot of something there's
not a there's not a lot of motivation for a deal or to discount what what isn't available yeah absolutely
that's why I can't encourage you know I encourage everyone but I think you know having access to
the market conditions data is so critically important because this changes the dynamic of a
conversation yeah let's take back let's go back here for a second so we've done a Mazda yes we've
done a Hyundai let's do have we done a Hyundai no we didn't do a Hyundai let's do a Hyundai really
quickly did the Ram excuse me let's take a peek it was 2025 said it wasn't palisades it was two
sons yeah 26 yeah let's see here 26 let's use my handy dandy yeah you have everything I have
given you let's let's use it so let's see here launcher kona Tucson here we go and immediately the
first thing that I saw there was 144 days on the market wow so you know while the day supplies
low there's not a lot here the fact that it's been there for 144 days that signal something to me
well there's only two for sale yeah what type of the Tucson was this this was an SEL convenience
hmm but I'm wondering dad if we looked at 26's well there's voices also it also depends on
on region part of the country you know apparently in in Omaha there's not a lot of might not
necessarily be the case if you're in Scottsdale or if you're in in Georgia you know it all depends
on the market yeah exactly that's why it's so important to be doing this kind of across the
country where you are and you can get a sense for what's going on yes exactly speaking of what's
