Darlington Dragway is a place where drag races happen. The hosts are talking about how rain can ruin the day because you often have to wait around for your turn, not just drive.
The Chevrolet Corvette is a sports car made for going fast. People talk about it because it’s built to accelerate quickly and handle well. The black-and-red one mentioned is just a specific example of that model.
An “outlaw class” in drag racing is a category with looser rules than strict factory-stock classes, so cars can be more heavily modified. Because of that, performance can vary a lot, and consistency often depends on setup and tuning as much as raw power.
Term
making passes
In drag racing, a “pass” is one run down the track. “Making passes” just means they’re repeatedly running the car to see how fast and consistent it is.
In drag racing, a “limiter” is a built-in safety/control that stops the engine from going past a certain limit. If you hit it a lot, it can be rough on the engine and other parts.
The valve train is the mechanism that controls when an engine’s intake and exhaust valves open and close. If it’s stressed or damaged, the engine can lose power or fail.
Cylinder heads are the top part of the engine where the combustion happens and where the valves sit. If bolts or threads there fail, it can cause serious sealing and engine problems.
Here, the “bolt” is part of how the cylinder head is held tight to the engine. If it breaks or the threads strip out, the head can’t be clamped securely.
In a drag race, the tires are what grip the track. The “front tires” are the ones up front, and the hosts are saying they might be the next problem area.
Term
angle tires
“Angle tires” means the tires are set up in a way that changes how they sit and touch the track. The hosts are saying that setup might cause issues, even if the wheels are fine.
“Skinnies” are narrow tires used for drag racing. Narrower tires can help the car behave better on launch, and they’re saying these front narrow tires should be fine.
A turbo car has a turbocharger that helps the engine make more power. When you hit the gas, the turbo needs a moment to build boost, so the car may not spin the tires instantly.
In drag racing, “small tire” usually means a smaller or narrower tire. That can make it easier to spin the tires and change how the car grips when you accelerate or do a burnout.
The Rolls-Royce Phantom is a very expensive luxury car. It’s built to feel smooth and quiet, but it still has enough power to move quickly when you press the accelerator. That’s why it can surprise people in conversations about performance.
“White smoke” is what you see coming out of the car. Sometimes it’s harmless vapor, but if it shows up right away or keeps happening, it can mean there’s a problem.
The “pit” is the area where the race team hangs out and works on the car between runs. If there’s smoke or gear around, it can make things look or measure differently.
“One ply” is about how many reinforcement layers the tire has. Fewer layers usually makes the tire flex more, which can help grip, but it can also wear or react differently under hard use.
“Four ply” means the tire has more reinforcement layers. That usually makes it stiffer, which can affect how it grips and how it behaves after you heat it up.
Term
humid
“Humid” means the air has a lot of moisture. That can change how the car runs and how the track feels compared to a dry day.
Topic
hydraulic competition
“Hydraulic competition” means a contest involving hydraulics on cars—usually for dramatic movement or special setups. They’re saying the event had that kind of show too.
The Lucid Air is an electric car, meaning it runs on electricity instead of gasoline. It’s designed to be fast and comfortable, and it can go a long distance on a charge. That’s why people might be impressed when they see or drive one.
A Dodge Charger is a popular American muscle car. Here, the hosts are talking about one they saw and critiqued, using it as an example of an over-the-top, custom-looking build.
A Dodge Challenger is a famous American muscle car. The hosts are basically saying the Charger and Challenger look so similar in this kind of modified setup that, to them, they’re hard to tell apart.
“Lambo doors” are doors that open upward like a scissor motion instead of swinging out normally. People use the term when a car has that dramatic, showy door style.
A wide body kit is a set of parts that makes a car look wider by adding flared fenders. It’s commonly used on heavily modified cars to fit wider tires and create a more aggressive stance.
Splitters are extra pieces on the front or bottom of a car meant to help the airflow behave better. On modified cars, they also make the car look lower and more aggressive.
A burnout box is a special spot at the track where you’re allowed to do burnouts. The goal is to heat up the tires and get rid of any grime so they hook up better when you launch.
First gear is the gear the car uses when you start moving from a stop. In drag racing, it matters a lot because it affects how quickly the engine revs up and how the car gets traction right away.
Starting line ratio is basically the car’s “launch gearing.” It determines how fast the engine spins compared to how fast the wheels turn, which affects how well the car accelerates right off the line.
Rear gear is the gearing in the back of the car that affects how hard the car pulls when you launch. Swapping it can help the car accelerate better on a drag strip.
Here “belt” likely means a belt that drives something on the engine. If it doesn’t move or slip during a burnout, that’s a good sign the setup is working under stress.
Oil pressure tells you whether the engine is getting enough lubrication. If the oil pressure looks good after a burnout, it usually means the engine is still being protected.
“Spool up” means the forced-induction system (like a turbo) spins faster quickly when you give it throttle. Faster spool-up can help the car feel stronger right away.
“Light both bulbs” means you set the car up so the drag strip recognizes you are ready to race. It’s about getting the starting lights to show you’re staged correctly.
A tune-up is how the car’s computer is set to run the engine—like how much fuel and spark it uses. With turbo cars, the tune matters a lot for making power safely.
Boost is extra air pressure the engine gets from a turbo or supercharger. It helps the engine make more power, but the car has to be tuned correctly so it doesn’t run too hard.
“MPI” usually refers to a fuel-injection system where each cylinder gets its own injector. It’s part of how the engine gets fuel for power and drivability.
“Trap speed” is the speed your car is going when it passes the timing sensors near the end of the run. It shows how fast you were at the finish, not just how long it took.
The “quarter mile” is the common drag-racing track length—about 400 meters. Racers use it to compare how quickly cars accelerate and how fast they get.
Here, “data” means the numbers the car records while you drive—like how much boost you made. Racers use it to figure out what to adjust for the next run.
A dyno is a machine that tests an engine while it’s strapped down. It helps you see how much power the engine is making so you can tune things like boost before racing.
“Plugs” are spark plugs, which ignite the air-fuel mixture in the combustion chamber. In high-boost drag racing, worn or mismatched spark plugs can cause misfires or unstable combustion, so racers often swap them along with ignition parts.
Ignition coils make the high-voltage electricity that powers the spark plugs. If a coil is weak or failing, the engine may misfire—especially during hard launches.
Plug wires carry the electricity to the spark plugs. If they’re old or failing, the spark can be weak or inconsistent, and the engine may misfire when you launch.
A wheelie is when the front wheels lift up during a hard launch. It usually happens when the car hooks up unevenly and the power transfer makes the front end rise.
A “580 pass” means the car ran about 5.80 seconds for the main drag race distance (usually the quarter-mile). It’s a quick way racers talk about how fast the car went.
“Cutting out” means the engine suddenly stops making power. In this context, it’s happening at a certain boost level, so the tuner is trying to find exactly when it occurs.
The BMW 5 Series is a luxury sedan, usually meant for comfortable everyday driving. Some versions are more powerful than others, and the podcast mentions different power levels like 530 and 550. They’re likely comparing which one runs faster.
A “410 gear” means the back-end gearing is set to a specific ratio. It usually makes the car feel quicker off the line, but it can affect how fast it can go at the end of the run.
“Leaking water” probably means coolant is leaking out of the engine’s cooling system. If you lose coolant, the engine can overheat fast—especially when you’re pushing it hard.
“Temperature 190” is the engine’s coolant temperature. If it’s getting that high, it can mean the engine isn’t being cooled enough, which is dangerous during hard acceleration.
A camshaft is a rotating shaft inside the engine that tells the valves when to open and close. It’s a big part of how the engine makes power, especially when you add boost like a supercharger or turbo.
A pro charger is a supercharger that forces more air into the engine. Because it’s driven by the engine, it can make boost quickly and change how the car feels when you accelerate.
The wastegate is like a pressure control valve for the turbo. If it gets stuck open, the turbo can’t make enough boost, so the car feels weak or doesn’t perform as expected.
If a turbo is “locked up,” it means the turbo can’t spin anymore because something inside seized. That usually happens after serious damage, and the car will lose boost and power right away.
In drag racing, “ET” means elapsed time—how many seconds it takes to go down the track. If the ET doesn’t improve when you add power, something is likely limiting the car.
They’re saying the problem is likely just a broken component. In drag racing, parts can fail because the car is pushing far beyond normal street conditions.
Concept
tune it as we go
“Tune it as we go” means they make adjustments after each run based on how the car behaved. The goal is to dial in the settings so the next pass is faster and more consistent.
“Gates” here is about the turbo’s wastegate, which helps control boost. If the wastegate isn’t set or working right, the car can make more or less boost than you intended.
Cylinder pressure is the force/pressure inside each engine cylinder during combustion. In drag racing, higher cylinder pressure—often from high boost and aggressive timing—can increase mechanical stress and heat, making the car harder on parts during hard launches.
A “converter” is part of an automatic transmission that helps the car get moving from a stop. It affects how hard the car launches and how quickly it reaches the RPM where it makes power.
“1200 horsepower” is how much power the engine is making. In drag racing, that kind of number usually means the car has major upgrades and careful tuning to keep everything alive.
Term
5 3
“5.3” is shorthand for a 5.3-liter V8 starting point. The builder is modifying it into a bigger engine for more power.
“332 cubic inch” is the engine size measured in cubic inches. Bigger displacement can help the engine make more power, especially with the right fuel and tuning.
Term
380 bore
The bore is the diameter of each cylinder. A “380 bore” means the cylinders are machined to a particular size that helps determine the engine’s overall displacement and power potential.
The stroke is how far the piston moves inside the engine. “Stock stroke” means they didn’t change that travel distance, even though they changed other parts to make more power.
The crankshaft is the main rotating part that turns the engine’s motion into usable power. “Stock crankshaft” means they kept the original factory version instead of upgrading it.
Term
243 heads
Cylinder heads are the top parts of the engine that control airflow into and out of the cylinders. “243 heads” is a specific type of head the builder chose because it flows well for high-power setups.
Methanol is a special racing fuel. In drag racing it can help the engine make more power and run cooler, which helps it handle big boost and aggressive setups.
Forced induction means the engine is “fed” extra air using a turbo or supercharger. More air lets the engine make more power, especially when you’re trying to go fast in a straight line.
Term
98
“98” is probably the fuel’s octane rating. Higher-octane fuel helps the engine tolerate more boost or compression without knocking.
Term
107
“107” sounds like another fuel rating or spec in their setup. It likely means they start with a higher-octane fuel and end up with the “98” they’re talking about.
In turbo setups, the “inlet” refers to the intake side where air enters the turbo’s compressor. Measuring and controlling pressure/airflow at the inlet helps tune boost response and ensure the turbo is operating in the intended range.
A three-step is a drag-racing setup that lets you hold the engine at specific RPMs before you launch. It helps you launch more consistently and get the turbo ready.
The Mustang is a performance car made by Ford. The podcast is talking about a specific older Mustang style (“fox body”) and how it can be set up to run similarly to another car, with small differences. That’s why it comes up in performance comparisons.
Concept
run the number
“Run the number” means “hit the target” in a race. If the car is supposed to do a certain time or speed, this is about whether it actually achieves it on the track.
The transmission is the part that changes gears so the engine can keep making power. If it’s “messed up,” the car may not accelerate correctly or may fail under hard launches.
Oil pump gears help the engine keep oil pressure up. In a high-power drag setup, that can be important so the engine stays properly lubricated during repeated hard runs.
Circle D is a company that works on performance automatic transmission parts, especially torque converters. They’re the shop they sent the converter to.
A burnout is when you briefly spin the tires to warm them up and get them ready to hook up. Drag racers do it so the tires bite harder when they leave the line.
“650” is drag-racing shorthand for how fast the car runs the track, usually meaning about 6.50 seconds for the quarter-mile. They’re arguing whether this truck can reach that time.
“Foot braking” means the driver uses the brake pedal to hold the truck while the engine builds boost and/or revs for launch. In drag racing, how you brake and stage can affect tire spin, launch consistency, and ultimately elapsed time.
The McLaren 650S is a supercar, meaning it’s built for very high performance. People bring it up because it’s known for being quick and exciting to drive. In the podcast, it sounds like they’re talking about how that specific car performs.

What?
Really
Really
Are we filming
So you're saying that
You can probably
I
All right, I don't believe that I think the flies take off backwards
They fly though see
All right, well now somebody's here
I
See who that is a no, let's go. All right. Well, you've got your bird facts for the day. You're welcome
But let's get straight into episode 15 of moron nation unfiltered
15 of these every week. We've been doing this for 15 weeks now without fail
You can come sit down
No, no special guest
What's matter?
That's a nice table there
Nice and 30
What oh
Okay, so
You just want to get that out of the way
We may not be going this weekend guys the weather is not looking good and
Me and Ryan have been you know closely monitoring and when I say we
Both he's probably has cherished looking at it the same way that I have Aaron looking at it
We have a highly trained staff of meteorological
Experts, that's right, and they are closely monitoring the situation around Darlington Dragway. It's it's
guys me and Ryan are racers and we know what it's like to drive somewhere and
Sit in the rain and it is the worst possible thing that you can do is sit even
Sexton was bad. I don't like doing it. I hate it, but we were already there and
It just we made it through it
Sucked, but we made it through it
We have a decision to make and we're gonna make that decision today
Well, one of the worst things that used to suck about MPK was sitting in the rain for eight hours and then just waiting and then
Then cancel then cancel it. That's the worst
They get you there and diesel is not cheap now
So with the price of diesel and us being racers and knowing what it's like to drive somewhere and not getting to race
we're gonna be proactive and
Probably go ahead and cancel it. We're gonna make a decision
In about an hour and a half I
Would imagine that if you're hearing this right now it is cancelled. If not, I'm gonna have Aiden cut it out
You know
Sucks because we can't just cancel it
We're gonna have to reschedule it and the problem with our schedule is there's nowhere to fit in more races because we have so many races
It presents a problem
So we're gonna be going back to Darlington sometime in November
It's really about the only time that sounds better than July. I'm all for it at this point
I'm okay with Darlington
Because anytime I think of Darlington, the hottest racetrack. I've ever been to ever
Dude, just the surface of the only other hotter place
I can think of is Houston that one year, but I don't even it doesn't that doesn't even register to me
I Houston doesn't even it's not even on my radar whenever you talk about. I'm sure it was hot. You remember
I'm sure it was Houston
But I I can only think of hot and being Darlington like people were passing out like in in
Record numbers. Yeah, just passing out. I mean if you remember that one time which
Statistically, I think it was the worst. There was 11 people passed out in Tulsa. I think it was 17
It was a lot. They ran out of water. Yeah, I thought it was 11. Okay. Was it 17? It was unbelievable. Remember they had to bring in
Didn't they bring in like the National Guard to like help people?
It was it was bad. It was bad in Tulsa
Well for the record, I still feel like Darlington was hotter. Yeah
Darlington is hot for whatever reason like it does stand out that it was hot. No doubt about it
Now I'm not saying that it was the hottest
But in my head you cannot tell me that it wasn't the hottest
Well, we've only been to Houston once yes every time we go to Darlington is it is the surface of the Sun. Yes
So but with that being said it sucks. It's probably gonna I
Feel like she's being facetious. I
Never can tell she's always so sarcastic. I don't know who she gets that from
She never used to be sarcastic
Uh-huh, uh-huh. No, we got a lot of stuff that we can do this week if
We don't go
Lot of stuff that we need to do this week
Yeah, there's definitely some stuff we can do. Yeah, but making money is not one of them
No, hey, I think that this race was
It was shaping up for sure. It's gonna be our best one. We've got a lot of small tire guys
Something had happened. So so the small tire guys. So the small tire guys have a
Looking for a place to race. Yes, something something
officially finally happened and
This isn't a celebration of it. Don't be a hater, dude. It happened. Don't be a hater
I'm not I'm not talking about
IHRA cancelling all of his events then you're a hater, man. Yeah, well, that's what everybody says jokes on you guys
I was a hater before that. Yes, not I may be a hater, but not about this. Yeah
Yeah, I'm a hater, but I'm not
Unrealistic most of the time well and so you wasn't one of the grown men that believes in Santa Claus for a while
But not on this situation
Maybe it was all the free ice that they gave away
Just can't I mean making it because of all the free ice got a budget in for you got a budget in for that
I
So yes, it happened it sucks. There's a lot of people looking for places to race
Not just that like yes, it does suck for the racers
It sucks for all the people who left good jobs to go
To where the grass was greener on the other side, you know how many people he stole from other organizations
Oh, yeah
Offering them double the wages and from from what I understand like all of them first-class flights
Like yeah, I mean, of course he treated everybody good
But at the end of the day, where's all the people who were going what do y'all not understand?
He's rich. Yeah, and
anybody who knows anything about business knows that you got to have some sort of return of interest and
Anybody could literally see that there was no return of interest on that deal and there never was gonna be
So I mean it
It was gonna take a long time to recoup all that money for sure like
The rest of our lifetimes if he didn't spend any more money
Yeah, so it sounds like he didn't spend a lot of money anyways just from all the posts that I read
I and and all you know, that's hearsay, but man, there's a lot of people saying there's a lot of people
There's tracks that haven't been paid for I've heard there's obviously racers that haven't been paid for their winnings
That sucks man
I'll tell you what sucks is
The whole million dollar race that party time won the first one. I know man, you know, he didn't get paid for that
That's you don't think you know
I don't I don't know that he didn't get paid guys, but there's people at races before that one happened that didn't get paid
Yeah, so I mean it's it's it's all over. It's it's a very crappy deal. It sucks. Hey, it sucks because
he made everybody believe that
HRA was on their way to the top and now all those people are just left
Over their hands basically yeah wondering what they're gonna do
You know
Shame was plug obviously for the people who are still looking for a place to race with good payouts
Midwest drag racing series Keith Haney all his people
There's promod racing that for 20,000 to win. There's still six more races there get paid before you leave the property
They make may make it a point. They do not want to send you a check. They want to write you a check before they leave
You know, there's it's 20,000 win promod. There's four or five other classes that pay pretty good
They've just recently added outlaw promod. That's gonna pay 10 grand to win and plus they're paying back to the semis too
So, you know, they're they're still that to race. You've still got that little syndicate that's paying
20,000 for small tire. There's still a lot of places to race. It just sucks because I HRA honestly was
probably the second biggest organization out there and
It just sucks man because everybody was on board with it and
And it's like if you say anything bad about it that all people jump on you because you're a hater
There's no hate here guys. It sucks, but
You kind of got to also look at the writing on the wall the people who just jumped on board with that and was online
arguing with everybody else
What were you guys looking at is what I want to know there that you got to think
There's a reason that that race and that organization lost
Or didn't get sponsors because it was if he is at best
It was if he super unstable there for a while every week
They were having a new CEO or president or whatever it is
That makes it tough for people to jump on board and it also makes it tough for racers to
Abandon maybe maybe isn't the right word, but all their other stuff and just go hit all those races
Yeah, which they did it. They did it man. There are some people did but now look yeah
You should have seen that in the beginning and and realize that a this this place is unstable this this may not be the
Santa Claus that everybody thinks yeah, I mean I kind of get it because you know, what were they paying $50,000 every
Promod race good money and you know paid
So I don't know. I we're definitely not gonna beat on the IHRA. It's not something that
Believe it or not just because we didn't race in it and we didn't support it didn't mean that we are happy that it's not
No, it was succeeding. It was something else drag racing
We're fans of don't get me wrong guys just because we didn't go and support
IHRA we we had the live feed on every weekend for sure. It was something else cool to watch
Your eyes are messed up. I know there's something in here. I can't hardly see like you look horrible
I know I don't know what happened or something in here
allergic to
So yeah, yeah, that's gotten bad quick. Yeah, so
It's it's we're not haters. There's we've said that in the past
We said this whenever we decided to go in HRA instead of IHRA and
NHRA told us no, there's room for everybody
We don't care if you race with us and you go race IHRA
I and I saw a whole lot of people saying that we didn't support it because we did it in
HRA and it didn't have to be one or the other. Yeah, and not on our side
NHRA didn't tell you that you couldn't go race over there. Yes
Just leave it at that. Yeah. Yeah, I'll leave it at that it
It was cool to watch it was cool to see the you know the big crazy payouts
But man if you set back and and watched it from I guess our perspective
It was like you see no one in the stands you see you know
They're giving away this this live feed that was phenomenal. Yeah
Yeah, the absolute best live feed of any drag racing series
Yep, did you hear the number that West Buck put on that with that cost? No
I mean West Buck knows what it cost to do a live feed
He said 200 150 200 grand per weekend to do a live feed like that
Wow
So that's that's the reason and then he catered food to everybody like there's
There's no way that you can't do you don't even have to look at the books
Yeah, and know that you're not making that money back. Yes, that's after you bought all the tracks and
All that stuff or you know, yeah, but I
Don't know it and then I've seen people say you know the whole Elon Musk deal
Yeah, he was in business with Elon Musk and I'm not gonna act like I know any more than anybody else out there
But I saw somebody say something like
Well, yeah, whenever you're owed
$600 million and haven't gotten paid. Well, you got to do the work right you got to do the work before you get paid
Yeah, I heard he was what 23 months behind schedule on everything six months. So they
Booted him off the job, right it
Man, who know who knows the for real financials of it, but regardless I don't want to know I don't care
All I know is nobody can spend that much money and
Not have to recover from it. Yeah
If he'd had some big sponsors, you know, this race is presented by such and such and you know
The same thing that NHRA does it it may have made more sense
Yes, but but no sponsors. No fans in the stands like
It's just not sustainable man. I don't care how rich you are could sustain not necessarily how much he was spending
Not necessarily could but why would he you know what I mean? Like I mean he could for for longer than what Darrell did
Yeah, but eventually he would go broke too. That's what racing does to people
Yeah, it makes you how much ever money you got it makes you broke
Yeah, that's what it does. Yeah, the only way to become a millionaire racing is start out as a billionaire
That's right. However, it gets right, you know, that is what it is man
Yeah, I know it hopefully they do regroup and come back with something man. I just I don't this point
Even the loyal following that you had before is gonna be got me surely. They'll be leery of it
Yeah, I I mean, I've just I've seen too many people like prominent names in the sport say
It's done done like they're not
Regrouping it's done, but who knows, you know, we got
What is this
I'll trust her I don't even ever ask her she just says here take this and I okay
Yeah
I'm like a sheep just okay. Oh, those are warm
Man just burning his eyeball
Oh, I don't know what happened man, it happened quick though, whatever
Yeah
So I'm any of these guys look, I don't want to talk about the IHA anymore
Yeah, but if you don't have a place to race there, you can still come race with us. Yeah, it's it's not our business
It's not our thing it just
One of them things that the whole time I'm looking at going this is this is gonna fail
Any time now there's gonna be an announcement like it's just gotta happen and and then you know, and then there was yeah
Sucks, but it is what it is. I get it as a racer. They had good payouts and I thought man. I
Get it. It's a good cash grab
Go get it why you can yeah, you know, especially it's gonna be it's gonna make it 23 what especially if you're Jason Harris
Yes, yeah, I know hey, I get why he went and did that. Yeah, but now look you're owed that money. Yeah, that sucks, man
I just want to see him get paid. What I've seen his dad say he got paid. Oh really?
Oh, well good. Hope he did
But also saw somebody else say that he didn't but I'm
Tend to believe his dad for sure for sure
Regardless, you know
Yeah, it's gone there's still plenty of places to race so we touched on the new alloy pro mod at the Midwest
I think that's kind of cool
I hope because I was starting to gain some traction over there like there was I think there was 13 or 14 cars at the
Last one just an outlaw. There was four cars
In outlaw. Yeah, no four cars that mattered
Yeah
Other than that there was a tenth gap there. Yeah
Yeah, maybe so but either way there's a couple of cars running 55 and faster. Yeah
But either way like there were cars paying tech cards to go racing there was a couple of them were Tim Brown
Chevy Reeves, yeah, you know what I mean? No, hey, I love Chevy. Yeah, I mean hell
I like Tim Brown, but if you're gonna run 70 against somebody who's running 50s
Yeah, but they're not just supposed to sit at home, right?
I mean you got to get in where you fit in that's the only place they fit in or put small tires on it
Man, I could be sick on they can run pro mod
But they they're heavy. Yeah, and they can't run dual power out
Yeah, but they're heavy in outlaw too, right?
I mean if you're outlaw you're an outlaw trim so you're lighter than you can't lies you possibly be yeah, yeah, I get it
I get it. No, I'm not telling them. They shouldn't fuck. They shouldn't show up. Yeah
I mean look at Swanson's car. He went a few rounds
Todd yeah, Todd went a few rounds
Didn't go faster than what 63 something like that. Yeah
But if you're consistent with the 63, you know
What I mean there's cars are you gonna finish that that you know might not make the trip
There is if you make a 63 every pass you're gonna win a few rounds. I mean he's pretty good on the tree
He is he is good on the tree
He's pretty consistent and he's pretty pretty good on the tree
So yeah, but
I
Gotta get that car faster
Yeah, no, I I agree cuz that's 63 would also go rounds in pro mod
But they can't do it without 128 over is what he said or or that light
Yeah, I think he said the car is actually heavy for what they're running without all so they just
They don't want to change their setup from 128 to 92 because they've got so many tune-ups or something
I don't know
I mean they've they've tried the
Legal pro mod stuff too, and it didn't it just doesn't make any sense to me to go to a faster class. Yeah
So
Yeah, I don't know it's not my program so
And none of them are I'm just the whole situation was you got a few guys like Bubba Stanton
Robert Davis. Yeah
I mean even Frankie, you know runs pretty damn good. I'm missing somebody that's really fast
There's that black and red Corvette. It's really mississippi missile. He's yeah
Unbelievably fast and that's what Aiden was saying really helps out because a lot of the outlaw class was
All or none, you know, but
At the last one that I watched it seemed like it was getting more consistent like Robert Davis went up there
And it looked like him
Bubba Stanton man, they were just making passes. Yeah
55 or faster, you know and didn't Robert Davis go a 50. Yeah, he went a 50. He set the record for it. I
Like that guy it's moving. I like that guy. I've only talked to him a few times at Midwest, but he seemed like a pretty cool cat
Yeah
so
Anyways, I do believe that it's cool of Keith
Starting something and I hope all those guys come over. Yeah
So, I mean there there was obviously some sort of a venture is because Keith wouldn't just add it just because I don't think
You know, I think he's given it just like a trial. Yeah, I know it's just
What the is it the remainder of this year or is it races? I can't remember what he said. How many races are left?
Fuck we've only had two so six
seven
Got him
Yeah, well
So regardless if we go this weekend guys, we have got a test session next week with blue
So tired of all the people if you don't test that car, I don't even know why you're gonna bring it out
Who said that? I don't know just retard's on the idiot's on the internet. Hey, you can say no retard
It's it's it's legal now as long as it's not a bad taste, you know. Yeah, okay?
Yeah, I mean you weren't talking about yeah, you weren't talking about a disability. Yeah, special needs disability
You're talking about the retard's on on the internet. Yeah, that's different. It's very different
Yeah, I know hey, but but we do need to test for real though or it's gonna get turbo
Turbos that turbo is on deck a turbo is on deck. Yeah
It sucks man to have one bad race and I'm going man. We didn't have a bad race like that with the turbo
And it went to 20. Yeah has mark not race since winter series. Mm-hmm. I think he's going
I think he's gonna put turbos back on. Yeah, I bet he does. Well, I mean he like I mean turbos are cool
Turbos are cool. Turbos are Mark's thing. Yeah. No, he's the grandfather of turbos
So anyways
Yes guys look we had one bad race. We need to test we got the brand new motor in blue
We fired it up yesterday if we showed up with turbos Brandon would quit right there. Yeah, I bet he would all right good
Fair enough
Why y'all didn't why you didn't tell me? Yeah, and he'd go. All right. Yeah, let me know how it goes
It's the all-in-the-stage lane. Well, I heard that
You know Brandon's gonna be tuning. Also old dudes gonna be there this weekend
Oh Rudolph, yeah, I believe that's close to them. Yeah, I saw where he said that he's gonna be there
So that's cool that he's got his car going again and he's back out
They were hauling ass with it at that last race and then he read
Yeah, he's gonna be a problem. Oh, yeah telling you right now
There's gonna be a few cars a handful of cars at Midwest now that
It's gonna be a mini winter series now every race. Yeah, it's gonna be tough. Yeah
It's because more and more people are building centrifugal cars
It was already tough
There's only been two races and now we're in second. Yeah, you know Ryan is gonna be a problem. Yeah, you know
Now we got to worry about Ryan we bring our buddy with us to go right
And now he's shooting for a championship, you know, so
But I
Mean the only problem. No, there's gonna be multiple problems there. No, I mean there's
I mean there just is everyone's getting faster and faster. Yeah, and now obviously Cali is gonna probably race them all
What about page? I
Don't know. I would assume that page is gonna be lie and she's that cars fast
Oh, yeah, and I don't know that was the first race with it
Hey, and not to mention Peter Norman will probably come to if page does and then is that is that's not the coast car
What the coast? No, the coast car comes to them. Yeah, and
Then yeah, I ran us last time we raced that one car to the the one that doesn't look like a promod the golden white car
Golden white. Oh, yeah, the skinny kick car. Yeah. Yeah. No, that's fast, too
Yeah, not to mention. What about a old dude that cuts the good lights?
Jacob Neil. Yeah
Jacob McNeil is gonna be tough. He's getting faster with lots and lots of fast cars
The league can be a combo at lots of fast cars gonna be at Midwest promont. Yeah. Well, and you know
As long as they keep stacking weight on us, then there's gonna help everyone in a spider right behind
We just had a 50 pound weight swing. Yeah, so just to let I don't care
So
Since the beginning of the season guys are the the number on the side of the car that says that we can weigh says
2620 on it and we've had 50 pounds added to us since then. Yeah
I mean, whatever it probably needs to happen. We weren't anywhere close to 2620 at any point. Anyways, so
But still now I'm gonna add weight. Yeah. No, we just got away there in the car
Are the turbos still the heaviest car? Oh, yeah. Yeah. No turbos are lighter than us. Really? Yeah
Yeah, but also you could put any kind of weight on the turbos you want
Somebody's here
Yeah
Man, why are they why is everyone slamming the doors around here go looking through that is
but
I don't know. It's the the tough schedule the tough competition. That's that's what we're in it for. Yeah
We didn't just join
This class to beat up on people. Yeah, like yeah, no, I'm glad that everyone is
Is getting faster. Well, and we did it. Nobody
Yes, or something. Yeah, they went in set something down and then slam the door on their way back out. Yep. So
Yeah, I just heard a truck fire there's that old truck with no muffler on it
So we did it to prepare ourselves for winter series and the tougher it gets the more prepared for winter series
We're gonna be exactly
exactly so
And I still feel like we we have all the ingredients to go run at the top, you know, it's not like
You know, we just we got to put it all together again. We've got to get the car situated. We've got to
You know stop burning the motor up or whatever's going on there
Make sure all the stupid little stuff that we've done is as the crew doesn't happen anymore
It's we just we just got to put it all together like it all has to happen. Yeah, all has to come together
so
It just sucks to think that we didn't do good at one race and
It's making me
Rethink the whole program. Yeah, you know, yeah
That happens. Yeah
Everyone everyone has a bad race. You just don't want to get too many of them in a row, you know
I don't want any of them. No, but it's bound to happen. I mean, that's just all there is to it
Look at the best there. Look at I mean Ryan's had bad races. He's he's he's one of the best out there
Hey, there's no doubt
He is so and it doesn't matter we we've said this in the past no matter where we go race
We're gonna be front runners
It we just have it in us. That's the that's the way we are
We don't show up just show up work until we are
Yeah, like like we said winter series and and I'm still gonna stand on that guys. We're gonna win one
eventually
It might take a little while, but we're gonna we're gonna man. We made we were close
We think
Just think we got a fast car that little oil pressure issues. Just think if we'd had a fast car, you know, we'd probably blow it up sooner
probably
So I don't know it is what it is. So
um
What else we uh, we went and
Tore up Aiden's blazer for the first time this weekend
He did he tore his blazer up for the first time of probably many. Oh, yeah. No, it's definitely his well
I thought I was actually going to
Apologize to him and tell him man my bad. I thought it just sounded like you was on the limiter the whole time
It was probably that
Those two rockers that pulled off
Popping and banging made it sound like you was on the limiter. Yeah, but under further inspection of the data
He was on the limiter the whole time not
As soon as you blew the tires out
Limiter for 15 seconds
That's a lot sir for 15 seconds. It was probably
Limiter just like this across the board. You even showed me. Yeah, this is where I'm on this is
This is where it popped the tires right here
Like he was looking at the data and he was like this is where it popped the tires right here
That's cool because you can match the data to the video limiter the rest of the way and I was like
Yeah, hell. Yeah, that is what did it right there. He he
You know, we ride we rod check it
He checked those the valve train and it did hold up and it did not hold up
Yeah, and it may not again next time. It's just you're gonna know
Yeah
Aiden we don't know what these heads went through before we got them. Nope
So or how many times they've been apart or how
Strong the threads are but it literally broke one bolt and then ripped one thread completely out
So the heads on the truck
Those were brand new off the shelf
They still look brand new too. They still are now. That's right. Hey, and they had a lot of they had a lot of uh
Limiter limiter on them. So you never know it may do it again on the next one. It may not do it again ever
but
That's why I tell you the limiter is hard on things
Stay off the limiter just a little bit. Yeah, but he did good. Uh, the front tires are gonna be a problem
So just like we thought uh when we put the angle tires are a problem, but the wheels are not the
No, the skinnies are gonna be okay. They felt amazing the skinnies are gonna be okay and honestly
Your practice tip in wasn't bad either
No, I think but the one that mattered you messed up. I didn't mess up. It just I think it was down on power
I think it was down on power. You didn't get the instant smoke and and then whenever he rolled in it just
It was messed up
It's kind of like whenever you start your burnout with a turbo car and you can't really do it
You back up and you get really mad and then you're on the wood the whole time. Sorry. That's never happened to me
Yeah, well, it's happened to me before in blue
Yeah, it happened to you on your last burnout on that motor. It did
It did I tried to do a burnout twice and it wouldn't do a burnout. Oh really?
I got the I mean I cut it out, but I have the video of it, but you should not cut that out
Yeah, I should go, uh, what happened can't do a burnout boy. It went but you should have spooled it up like all the
The real racers do all the small tire real small tire guys. It went I'm filming and all that season
I think go burrr and it won't do a burnout and then phantom rolls forward it like knocks them
You afford and then he goes fuck and he puts it slams back in reverse backs almost through the through the fence
Get back in the water. Luckily they had that little dip there. It told me to stop
Uh, yeah fikes them. Yeah
Yeah, and then just
On the big end and I get a text I'm blow it up. Yeah, my shit is blowed up. Yeah, well
I imagine that that's how flustered he was. Oh the truck whenever that happened because because then
About halfway through the pad he tries to stop and the front brakes just locked up
And he slid all the way across the pad
So the front runners they just they're they're not designed to grip
So we need to
to get
I probably need to holler at the mckays or somebody. Dave told me that they're the ones who told him what tire to get
Uh, and it's the same. I'm sure we could find our own tire
but
It's the tire that they drive all over the country on their skin. He's on so
Uh, and I think that that one will be fine. So
It probably would have been fine the way that it was if he'd had instant power as soon as he
Woulded that thing if it started white smoking just a little what yep, then it probably would have been fine
But it sounded like he was stalling it up trying to spool it up. It did but it did also
I was full tps like I I didn't just
Into it. I was full on the way. No, I just tell you that's what it sounds like. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, no power for sure. So
So anyways, uh, just you know
Learning pains growing pains new vehicle pains, whatever you want to call it
It is what it is, but he's he's learning and this one is totally different than the old one
But we ended up putting and for the record guys, we ended up putting a angle kit on it. I think we talked about that
and
Which you haven't put that video out yet? I've not
We will that'll be a sunday video guys that we're getting caught up on
That's the reason we're doing so many videos
So once he put the angle kit on it
It turned so wide that we couldn't put the
The iris rocks on the front because it defeats the purpose of having the angle kit. So we put the og
front wheels on it
and
until we
get a tire
It just has the m and h front runners on it and they are uh front runners
They don't group a whole lot. Well, but we also don't know if that's a problem yet
Just because of the fact that it wouldn't instantly white smoke
If it instantly it may not be a problem, but it is kind of a problem
The only problem the radio will really see is because of all the shit that's in the pit
All the all the wire and everything that's in the pit is gonna
When did you see that after you came out of the pit? It just picked up everything in there
It does on every tire. Yeah on the on the fronts of the burnout. It's it's gonna go through those
Those are softer tires. Yes. That's what i'm saying is the softer tires as opposed to a one ply. Oh, yeah
As opposed to a four ply or something that the the little tire will probably be
But other than that the burnout blazer it did amazing
Besides obviously it was down on power. Yeah
How was the weather there?
Was the was the event appropriately named bad? Really? Yeah, was it cooler than it is here today? Oh, yeah
Really, but it was also humid down there because all the rain they've been getting
Yeah, and it was
It really wasn't wasn't really what I expected
It was it was of course. We were out away from everything. So we had to walk
To whatever or we drove the blazer around the pits a little bit. Yeah until they yelled at us
Yeah, you got a park. You can't drive that thing around here
So, you know, it was it was like a mini ls fest with more stuff
What do you mean more stuff? There was more stuff like what hydraulic competition?
There was the audio comp
There was all the audio files
Yeah, yeah tattoo stuff. Yeah, they was there's people tattooing in there. It was not. Yeah, there was rappers in there
Was it good tattoos?
I didn't see any of the tattoos. I seen the people that was doing the tattoos and I thought
I don't really need a tattoo down here. We're that bad from the yeah, the toothless people and what they weren't that bad
Man, we've got some tattoos from some sketchy dudes. We have we have wow not a while. No, not in a while
No, I just thought I don't really need to have one
Hmm. I don't know. It's pretty pretty. Uh, so there was a bikini contest, but we missed all that
Yeah, we had to leave on Saturday. I could imagine what
Girls were there the fleet looked like the fleet
What the talent was
Yeah, yeah, I could imagine what the talent looked like because I've seen a couple of them walking around
And it's about like you would think yeah, I'd still I'd still watch it. Oh, yeah, don't get me wrong. I would still watch it
You know, yeah, Easton was like, when's that happening? Yeah, who was Easton? Yeah, he didn't care about going though
But mark did though
Aiden got to set in
In the van
Oh, Chevy van and it had 16 18s in it and I'm telling you man eight
It was it was impressive. Yeah, I mean damn. That's a lot of air right there some air
Move some air. Yeah, so the the guy that owns it is deaf
What he's deaf
Like you can't hear he's deaf like nothing
So what does he just read as db meter to see if he's doing good or what?
I mean, I don't care about I imagine he just feels it. I don't know
But his son was there obviously and his son was the one running the
The truck and yeah, I got some video of of voltage and the alternators and you know, all that stuff that I care about
Yeah, it was pretty cool. But all that stuff's fine. But he was a buddy of nicks
You know and nick told me nick was like it's crazy because the guy who
Has one of the the best sound systems out there, you know and
Ranks the highest in db and all that stuff is a deaf guy, you know, and I was like, oh right on
Well, he didn't have no earmuffs on like everybody else did
So
Yeah, hey
Yeah
So but there was none of the cars out there that was you know, just
And then turn it back off, you know
Like the 106 180 decibels or whatever. I mean
I bet you that one would hit pretty good. What did nick say that one? I think he said 160
High 160s low 170s. I'm like, no
I don't know
I bet it sounds like a lot
But also that my neighbor would not like that. Yeah, but that van also still had a it still had, you know
A front windshield in it and all that stuff. I think it's all plexiglass. No, it cracked
It was it was just dual like there was two windshields laid on top of each other
This is double pane soundproof glass. I think it was plexiglass. But yes, it was cracked. Yeah plexiglass
Yeah, it will crack but the guys also this was a two-seater and both doors were open
You know how much harder that would hit if they'd closed another door
Nick said nick said you need to go in the passenger seat and close the passenger door and then that would have been like
brain scramble
But I didn't know what what nick said is every three decibels is double the sound volume
Once you get up so high. Yeah
Like 160 compared to 163 is double the volume like double the sound
That's why because I asked him I said can anyone sit and like the like, you know, like the world record 186 or whatever and he goes
No, they'd die
Die they would die
It would like crush your insides
That's why they put the mic in there they closed what?
What are you looking at me like that for you like the little
I see how it would make your heart maybe you want to take a caller
Call nick right now and ask him
No, I mean if nick said that then I believe it
I mean because you've seen the videos of the guys like they have the their side windows are like this big and it's it's this much
All this is metal and then they set the mic inside of there and then they go
And then go back right back down to 180
286 whatever the record is
I
Like I take my chances
No, I don't know. I don't know it's a lot. I've I've said it on before I didn't need to set in it again
Yeah, but I've never uh never had a desire to I can be impressed from the outside
That's right. I was impressed from the outside. I didn't need to sit in it, you know
so yeah, so uh
Before you guys took
The blazer down there and broke it it says yes a sustained sound pressure level of 180 decibels can be lethal
At this extremely intensely the violent acoustic shock waves cause massive
Physical trauma to the body including burst eardrums torn lung tissue and fatal air bubbles in the bloodstream
Sounds like some waste of time shit to me
So we were walking through and they had some inside stuff and I still don't understand how how did you get inside?
You know, yeah, because it wasn't no rhyme or reason on the cars that were inside a bunch of low riders. They were pretty
Um, oh like how they got an inside spot. Yes. Okay. It was nice and air conditioned and cool in there
But man they were
Like it's the cars that are like named after like a movie character
And they have like all the crazy paint on it. You mean like a donk
There was a donkey there. There was a donkey there. It was a pretty cool dog. It was a 72
Why were all the cars inside purple?
Were they all purple not all of them, but the ones and then one section mark the vast majority
Maybe that's her crew colors. Then there was then there was the uh, the low rider bikes in there
They were cool. But that one was named dino
The the red carnage the red venom like the something whatever it's a combat character and it was manuals
It's an ugly car. Yeah, and then there was the uh, the guy the one little girl's bike was uh
Iron man
Oh, so it was like golden red. Yeah. Yeah, but then that one guy gave us the towels
Yeah, so there was a guy who said
He was a big fan. You could tell uh-huh and he was like hey come over here and you can uh
Critique my car. It's everything that you hate
And I looked at it and it was I mean it was a charger. Uh-huh. It was a challenger
Same thing, but whatever there. Those are exactly the same. They're not they
They may as well not even be different cars. They're exactly the same thing to me
So i'm looking at it and I was like
Damn
It's I mean it has lambo doors on it, right?
That lambo doors on it had the wide body kit on it. It had did it have the yellow deals on the bumper?
Oh, yeah, I had all the
Yes had all the
Splitters and all that stuff coming off the bottom. Yes. Yeah, I had all that all the standard issues
And uh, I looked at it and I was like man this thing don't even have you did all this work
You even put a blower on it, you know and he goes what and then he showed me and I was like, oh
I didn't even look I just I see those cars. It was it was a pro charge. I thought it was a turbo. I thought it was pro charged
Get a belt that's how much I'm pretty sure is pro charged
Dude, he did a lot of work to this car like it was a lot of work, you know
And uh, he said he's had it for about six years. He's a cool dude, you know
He uh owns a detail in business and he gave us uh one of the drying towels. Yeah, some of them big thick drying
Yeah, so you don't get the water spots. Yeah
You throw it over it ring it out pull it back and I mean, we're gonna throw those away at we didn't
Yeah, no, yeah, no we'll use those. Yeah, no, it's good and I'll get water spots on stuff
Because we detail I was gonna say from all the cars he washes
Yeah, I was just saying, you know, whenever I drive home like after I wash my truck, you know, unless I drive
Let's get right after you like the blue beacon. Yeah. Yeah
I've been on the blue beacon in forever
But when I did the ppv there's water spots on the ppv because I didn't I mean I got
I had to wait on JD to detail his wheels and all that stuff. So I was just sitting there. Yeah
This flies dude, there's there's a couple of them in here now. This one's gonna die
You're gonna die. Oh
He took off backwards for sure. He did. Uh-huh
I watched him
Okay, so
Huh, what the Cheville? Oh, yeah. Yeah, no, so before he went and broke his blazer you broke his Cheville
I didn't
You were driving it. I was I didn't break it last time either
But remember I said
If I break it if this thing's gonna break I'm gonna break it in the burnout box because I'm gonna be mean to it
And they look that thing can burn out. Oh, yeah, like
I was so happy to send that video to andre because he said it wouldn't burn out
Oh, yeah, no, it had 00 problems with burning out, you know, so
Uh, and the reason that we weren't 100 sure how it would burn out guys is because there's no leverage
Uh 131 first gear with 370 threes
That's starting line ratio. I don't know what it is, but it ain't much. It's uh
Somewhere in the four low five range
Well
We really need to put a different rear gear in it probably before we take it back to the track, but
I literally told adan
I don't really care what happens today. If we do a burnout and the belt stays on it. That's a win
That is a look man. That belt didn't move. I told you like it's good
It was good. It's good and I and I can look at it and it almost looks a little bit crooked to me. Uh-huh
That's straight. Maybe that's the problem, man. Is that you try to line them up too good
I try to line them up. Yeah, like the blazer. Yeah
so
Uh
I did the first burnout
Massive massive burnout it'd been a while those tires, you know, yeah, they've been sitting around the shop
I need you know, I need to get all the old funk off of them. You can put some heat in them. Yeah
So I do a massive burnout. I pull up and I'm thinking all right. What's gonna happen now?
I kind of look at all the gauges. Everything's good man. It makes good oil pressure. Yeah, everything's everything seems happy
Yeah
So spool it up spools up really quick. Like always I thought I'm not gonna do this to myself
I'm not even gonna try to bump in I'm gonna pull light both bulbs and then I'm just gonna spool it
I'm not gonna worry about the tree. We're not gonna do any of that. We're just gonna hopefully it makes it down to the other end
I don't care how slow it is and
Honestly, I left the same tune up that I just threw in it out here on the street
Let's just see what happens. Yeah, I thought it's gonna leave on about 13 pounds of boost
It's gonna ramp into about 15 and we're gonna be good
Maybe yeah, so I let go of the button and I thought
Damn this thing slow. That's what I thought. Yeah, and then I was like, man, it doesn't drive that bad
Of course the steering wheel is like this. We can I can fix that. Yeah steering wheels like this
And
I'm thinking at this point. I need to
Put the steering wheel here and then rotate it if it rotates the same way both
Both ways then I need to move the steering wheel itself. If not, I'll do it with the front end
Yeah, either way I can fix that. It's not a big deal
um
I mean, I would bet the steering wheel is off
Yeah, we've had it off. Well, he just put that steering wheel on
Yeah, this is a cool steering wheel. No, we need it. We need a good one. That's like what mine are it came out of your car
So I replaced those for a reason. We need a we need a mpi. Yeah, but I like those mpi. Yes, I like the twice that it mpi
What so I like those wheels the ones with the holes nobody likes those wheels
I like those people using because they're light. Hey, they're light trying to save weight on that car
Yeah, but that thing does not steer good enough to have that light of a wheel. You'll bend it all up
Yeah, yeah, yeah, so
honestly, man
It
Everything was fine like I went down through there everything it actually drove down the track pretty good
Like it wasn't trying to do anything stupid. It wasn't wasn't walking all over the place or anything over the place
I felt comfortable the brakes seemed really good
Everything was fine, man. So I pull around and they bring me the time slip and man it went 6 11
At 120 on the first pass and I was like, okay. I'm all right with that. That's
First pass first pass 6 11. I lifted probably a little bit after the you know
Probably about a thousand feet. You probably lifted
Probably probably somewhere around there. Yeah, I stayed in it longer than what I should have but yeah
We had plenty of gear. It would have made it quarter mile plenty of gear. Oh, yeah
I'd make it quarter mile easy and we still went 955 at 124 in the quarter. Yeah, so
I mean, it's pretty good. That's not bad. It probably would have went
920 on that pass if I just stayed in it, maybe even a little bit faster
I'm okay with that so I go over I start looking at the data
And it leaves on
nine and a half 10 pounds of boost nine and some change
Uh and ended up ramping into about 13 pounds
So it goes 6 11 at 13 pounds is all and I'm thinking
That's pretty good, man. I'm gonna make a few changes. I'm gonna run 5 80 on this next pass
You can't tell me nothing
That this thing ain't gonna go 5 80s on this next pass because of the changes that I made it wanted power
Everywhere and I knew that it would and it ended up going. What was it?
158 to the 60 foot that was the first pass. Yes. Yes. So
158 to the 60 foot we knew it was gonna be a dog out of the hole. We knew it
That's the same one that it didn't even turn the tire out here with no burnout or anything on the street
New asphalt and dirty asphalt. Yeah, you know, so so I knew that it was gonna be slow
Not to mention it left on less boost than what it did out here. Yes, so
So I give it
across the board I give it power and of course
All I did was
I left on this amount of boost
And by about three quarters of a second I laid the boost over
So there was no sense in in making a lot of boost when we had it on the dyno at 17
Plus pounds of boost it was cutting out. Well, hopefully you fixed all that you brought it home
You put new plugs new plug wires new coils all that stuff in it. Hopefully that was part of our problem should be good
so
I go up there
I let go of the button do another nasty burnout
I let go of the button and it picks the front end up
and
Man it more pops a wheelie than carries a wheelie. Yeah, you know what I mean? It didn't carry
I know it. Yeah, it a hop to coat cam. It popped a wheelie because we still got the the front end pretty loose on the car
So after that, I was like, okay, it definitely left harder
I pulled back around and ain's like man it picked up 10 numbers to the 60 foot and I was like right on man
So it goes 147
Five something like that. So it picked up more than somewhere around. I mean, it would have been your 580 pass
Yes, yes, would have been my 580 pass and I said, what did it run?
And he goes what slowed down and I said, huh? What do you mean it slowed down?
Didn't make any sense to me. You know, yeah, but I saw the wheelie. I
looked at some data just
Briefly, you know what I mean? Like you know how I look at data versus how you look at that
Okay, you look at data and you start looking for anything that could possibly be wrong
I look at
It needs more power. Yeah as soon as I saw that it needed more power. I'm done looking at the data
I'm done looking at the data and I know where I'm going to put more power in it at
And I looked at a data logger to the boost controller. I looked at it long enough
That so basically I looked at the boost and I said, okay, we left on 13 pounds and it made 15 out the back
Why did this thing slow down? Okay, so
at that point
I could probably look and figure out why it slowed down
But instead I said that needs more power across the board. Yeah
So
I put more power on across the board the same amount of change that I did
I did again and at this point
The first pass we left at 3,800 rpm by now. This is the third pass
Fit 5,000. We're leaving at 5,000 on this on this third pass. Hell, yeah
We're leaving at 5,000. We should be leaving at 15 to 16 pounds of boost and we're ramping it in to 20
so
It's gonna do something on this. That was gonna run five. This pass is gonna run. It's 530 little gangster stuff. Yeah
Because i'm still doing this and then instead
I did this I ran it out here to make a lot of boost and then I just
Interpolated it down. Yeah, so instead of laying it over with the boost
I thought I'm gonna know right where this thing cuts out at at what amount of boost it cuts out at
So instead of stair stepping it any of that stuff. I just went
I made a line and I went up. I said, you know as soon as we'll I'll be able to lay this over the boost curve and I'll know
It started cutting out at
21 pounds of boost whatever
But on the way to running a 530, you know, and I told adan if it runs 550s, we'll put it up and I'll be happy
Because by then we know that some changes that we need to make at this point
I've already got it in my head
We probably need to put a 410 maybe even a 430 gear in this car and it's still gonna be okay. Yeah
But
Man, I think it would be great on the backside
Or street stuff the way that it is now, but it probably still be good with a 430 rear gear
So I go up there. I do my burnout. Everything seems fine in the burnout
Right, everything seemed fine in the burnout. Which is crazy to me that it still did a really good burnout
So then I mean that motor makes 450 on its own. Yeah, I know. So anyways, I go up
I start to spool it and it goes
Burr
And I went
I'm looking around. I'm going the hell. Yeah, I didn't even look down at the
The dash. Yeah, I didn't even know any of that. I know something ain't right. Yeah
So then they start going whoa, whoa, whoa
Blow you're leaking water
So I killed the car and I'm like, all right
What's happening and they're like, oh, it's leaking water. I look at the temperature
It's a you didn't look at the temperature 190. Yeah, I couldn't see it
I couldn't see the oh you had your glasses on I did not have my glasses on or my contacts. Yeah. Yeah
And I had forgot my boop boop
Which sucks man. It's the first time I made pat. I was
30 minutes down the road whenever I realized I forgot those that really sucks man because that's like part of my
process now part of your thing so
I said, what's that? I can all I knew is it was under 200
There was not a two. It was not a two. Yeah, if it's under 200, everything's fine to me
So he says it's 190 something. So I fired it back up and it instantly goes down to 187
Yeah, that's killer because that's normally what it runs at about 187
And so I thought man, I'm gonna try it again
Boo
And I didn't even try it for long just because I I know something's not right. So I backed it up and shut it off
and I
Thought maybe I fat fingered it maybe because that happens. It happens. I've done it multiple times guys
I'll fat finger the tune and I'll put in something wrong and it'll mess everything up
Remember that time we did it in Idaho in a cart it and shift
When it was turbo
Uh, I don't remember that but yes, it sounds about right. So
Ah, this guy this guy's kind of
wily
You don't remember the buddies did
so
I back up I put the last runs tune up right back in it didn't even change anything else just put that tune up in it
Knowing that's the tune up. I just ran with it's pulled up if something ain't right then it's mechanical. Yeah
So
Or something's broke now. Yeah, so I put it in and it
And I went, okay. All right, so there's three things in my head that's wrong here
We hurt the motor
And man a it sounds way too good for us to hurt that thing that thing's got its own sound to it too
I kind of like it. It sounds really good
um
Um
For the record we did not change the camshaft whenever we went from pro charger to
turbos
We left that camshaft alone. It sounded really good with a pro charger on it too though. Um
It's kind of rolls on itself a little bit. It's got some overlap to it and I like it
um
Either the motor's hurt I kind of checked that off as the motor is not hurt motor's good
Okay, the second thing it could be a wastegate is pinned open
so
That's a possibility and then I went
Oh man
The third possibility is one of the turbos is hurt
So I looked at nick and I said
How the turbos look and he looks and he goes
Oh, bro. This one right here is locked up
I killed the car and I told adan put it up. Yeah, that's that's the problem
I said man, I should have known that
Whenever it lost
Et when you put all that power in it whenever I put all that power in it and it didn't give me any return
I should have known that something was wrong. But guys look, this is parts failure. Are we upset? No, not at all
That's parts failure. Just like anything. Uh, we break parts all the time. So that's part of it. Uh,
They have already shipped us
Two new turbos come to find out the turbos
Uh, we're only 66s. Yeah, I I had it in my head that there were 76s this whole time
Because I did
That's what that's what I told him they were well nick said I could look at those until they're not 76s
I said, oh, well, I've never even looked at them to judge if they were 66s or 76s. Yeah, I just assumed that they were
Yeah, 76s. Well, they are not and with that big of a cubic inch motor
We're probably over spinning them
It's uh, it's a possibility
It is impressive that uh, there's no because usually, you know, if you got too small of a turbo
Like 55 your your gates won't keep up and that thing did it uh, those turbo smart ways probably because that's about all the
Boost that then things would make because they were just spinning in too fast possible
So so now we have the right turbos for it. We got to put them on and then take it back to the track. But at this point
I
Feel safe enough to take it to a
530 race and then just tune it as we go
I do think that we should put the 430 gears in it first
Before we test it again
And I think that the first pass out it's going to be in the fives
Oh, yeah
No doubt about that. I mean it's 611 is there. Yeah, that's yeah, you know, I mean
And to run 611 on 13 pounds of boost with that car
That tells me everything that we need to know man. It's gonna be faster than the 55. So so that's
I mean that that's about par for the course like I found out that my truck would run 6-os because my
Basically my boost controller stopped working at one point. So you ran on the gates. I ran on the gates
My truck made 11 pounds on the gates
And it went 6-0 on the dot. Yep. So that's why I started in six
Well, I'll bet you it had more than a
158 60 foot
Oh, yeah, okay. So that's the reason that it went 611 instead of 599
You're picking up a tenth to the 60 foot was going to run your 580. No, that's right. If you didn't change anything else
that's right
so
and with you know the lack of
Leverage on that on that launch for sure you're gonna have to hit it hard and I don't want to
Honestly for that thing to run the 60 foot that I want it to run
We're gonna need to leave on 20 pounds of boost and 5300
And I don't want to do that. Yeah, that's tough on things
It is it is very tough on things. That's a lot of uh, it's a lot of cylinder pressure early
Well, and we get it guys this transmission came out of the og
You know, you know something that has 3400 horsepower. Yeah, so whenever whenever I hollered at our guy at circle d
Dispect this converter out. I told him, you know, the rear gear of the car the first gear of the transmission and
There was a he goes something's wrong. There was a pause. There's nobody that's gonna do this. Yeah, he goes
Yes, we he goes man. This is this is gonna be kind of tough
He said I you know, I can I can get something for sure and I was like, I know you can
and he goes man this uh
This transmission is really more suited for something with a big block and and you know
2500 horsepower and I said, well, that's exactly what it came out of p. That's right. So it's oh, okay. That makes sense
Yep, I got something that'll work for you. It'll probably be happier though if we tell him that we're gonna put a
430 or oh, even a 410 gear in it. Oh, yeah, no, it'll it'll help everything
Because as of right now, man, I felt like he did pretty good
Nick did the quick math in his head and said that it was somewhere around 8 slip on the big end. I'm all right with that
Yeah
So yeah, it would it wasn't too bad car's gonna be fast for sure. It doesn't really have
There's no option. Yeah
I mean, it's it's the lightest of the three cars
And it's gonna make the same power. So yeah, it's gonna make the same power
Honestly, it'll probably make more power and we'll just need to not run it so hard because
Obviously, it's got the same motor as your truck. I don't want to talk about it
So but with that being said
Uh, we can move on to the last thing that I care to talk about and that is your truck made a lot of power, man
it did uh
It it made it made 1200 horsepower
By you know, it's a 5 3 it's 332 cubic inch. So it's a 380 bore with us
Literally stock stroke. It's got stock crankshaft in it. It's got good pistons and rods
It's a good stock crankshaft though. Yeah, it was it was the nicest one. Texas speed could find on a Thursday. Yeah
Um, it's got stock casting heads. They're just 243 heads that takes the speed ported
and uh
We'll put it on methanol
And uh, the little thing got angry. Yeah, man. It it was it was impressive like
There was a lot of things that happened to me while I was trying to finish that deal up
So I can make my dyno like I at one point I told Andre
Hey, man, I need you to schedule me a dyno because otherwise I'm not gonna finish this thing
So just wasn't really motivated to work on it, you know after I'd seen everything that was messed up
And uh, so we made the appointment and then man all kinds of things happen and I actually ended up with
Your turbo that they that forced induction is built so you got a 98 on it now a big 98
So their gangster 98 actually starts life as a 107
And and then they clip it down to measure 98 at the inlet so
That's got it's got a big compressor wheel
And then it's got a huge exhaust wheel with a huge exhaust housing
Are you going to get your turbo back? We may if we don't go this weekend
I'll probably have my turbo back or maybe something even smaller
It'll it'll spool better it will and and we've we've got it to spool pretty good so far
Like I can make my 13 pounds on the three-step 13 15 pounds on the three-step
It just takes a little longer to get there
Then then what I like not not long just longer than I like and that I'm used to so yeah
I it's not it's not gonna time you out. No, but I'll have to figure out a different time to start bumping in and
We've had to get you know how that is man
You sit there and they go in and then everything is on you. Yes, you know that you you're literally on the clock
Yeah, it's got to go
Yeah, so
It it was cool though like we've got it on the dyno
We're making pulls and andre was impressed andre's never impressed. You know what I mean like he was impressed at the
Little motor with the huge turbo was making the power that it did so
We just needed to make it for a little while. Yeah. Yeah, just a little while. Yeah, it was four races
You know, yeah, I don't feel like that's asking too much. Yeah
I mean, there's there's guys around here like there's another guy locally has pretty much the exact same combo
It's just in a fox body, but it's a 53 a little bit lighter. Well, you know, thousand pounds lighter
Yeah, so it's but it's the same 53 rod and piston 53
Uh same giant turbo. He's got a smaller
backside on it and then what I've got but
You know, he makes it happen
So he's he said uh his his spools in about four seconds and ready to go
so
Yeah, they uh, they made
That car makes a lot of power that I'm supposed to share numbers
But it made considerably more power than mine that had a lot more boost. Yeah, they made a lot more boost than really
Yeah
He's got a brawler motor too or what? No. No just same pistons and rods and all that stuff. Yeah
So
I think it's gonna be fine, man. Oh, yeah, just need to get it out there and make some hits if it's not
yeah, I mean if
I know it'll run the number. I mean horsepower and weight it'll run the number
But if it's too difficult, I'll just step back down to 6o whatever, you know, so
Yeah, it uh, it runs. It runs good
made power
See what happens now billy's truck made a lot of power today billy's truck
So so Sean's cousin billy that you see that has the f-150 with us
You know a lot of people think are mine, but it's just it's stretched out a little bit. Yeah
Yeah, you've ever had a four-wheeler with a long swing arm. That's right. It's it's stretched out
You know, it's affectionately known as Ron Jeremy because it's long and white. Yeah, we straight
We stretched out the drive shaft on that deal. Is what happened
But that that truck he brought it to our first race at north forda
and I
Think he eventually went 7o there right after we figured some stuff out or something or the next race he went 7o
Either way long story short. He found out his transmission has been messed up and possibly his converter
Well, he's been driving it around on
88 or 900 horsepower. Yeah with a bone stock transmission bone stock not just bone stock a bone stock transmission that had
Over a 100000 miles on it. Yes. It used to be one of his work. Yes
Yes, it was his old work truck that he delivers appliances with so and I don't even think it was necessarily his truck
It was one of his guys. So, you know, it's been just beat to shit
And anyways, he made a little you know daily driver race truck type deal out of it twin turbo from on three
It's got the motor from your f-150 and it has his blew up his blew up. We gave him my stock one. Yes
So all it's got is oil pump gears in it
And other than that a little pg's baby. Yeah, you know
uh
But yeah, so he had it. He got a new transmission. We had this uh
Converter sent off the circle D so they could go through it. They actually upgraded him to the better version
Yes, his was the 700 horsepower one or whatever and they talked him into
The upgraded which was I think was for whatever it is. He had it on a hub dyno today
So it wasn't going to spin like it did on andres. Yep. Um, and man, it made 950
That's that's pretty good. That's pretty good. And they said that it would make more but it's very safe right now
And billy was like, well, what do you think I should tell him? He asked me how much horsepower and I said look man
They probably hear all kinds of unrealistic numbers all the time from people
Yes, that that thing it made 860 before it needs to make that
Yeah, and and it can be safe. I said honestly, man, the thing should make a thousand pretty easy
Between 900 and a thousand and I'd say that's good and it made 950 and they said, okay
Like you could turn it up
You can make more boost if you want to and it's still going to be okay. Yeah, but I don't believe that he needs to
No, I mean, we just need to help him work with it some even at the 850
There was still quite a bit of et left in it
You know, he was having trouble doing a burnout so he might he could
Couldn't necessarily mash it right off the tree sometimes. So, you know better transmission now
Maybe you can do a burnout. Yep, and uh
I bet that truck runs 650 or better. I think I think
I think it can run 650. I don't know how much better it'll run, but yeah
650 is getting it. It's a heavy truck. Yeah, that's a heavy truck. It is a heavy truck and then he's got like a
5,000 pound bed cover on it
It's a heavy truck and he foot breaks it. So it's not like he's building a ton of boost before he leaves. No, it's uh
And it's on a street tire not a it's not I'm sorry. It's on a et street. Yeah, but it's a real do t
Yes, it's a real do t street
Uh radial. Yeah, he's got subs in it. He's got a bed cover
He's got it's it's heavy. Yeah, he cruises the thing around. Yeah, you know, so if that thing runs 650s, man
I'd be stoked for sure. That that was his question to me last night was you know, what's it?
You know, what horsepower do I need to run this 650 and I honestly man like
I don't know that it wouldn't do it at the 850. I feel like it will at the 950 for sure
But you know, I don't really know what the truck weighs. I can I can guess and all that stuff, but
What would you guess the vet it weighs probably pretty close to 5,000?
Oh, I was gonna say a little bit heavier than that. I was gonna say 53 5,400 because they're they're pretty light because they're aluminum
But then, you know, he's got a lot of stuff on it. Yeah, that bed cover's heavy. That thing's gotta be
80 80 pounds. Oh, dude. I bet it's three or 400 Oh, you think so? It's fiberglass
It's all fiberglass. It's thick. I bet it would take four of us to get that deal off there. Wow
What it's a 2019 f2 fit. Oh, it's an f2. Yeah
What say about 8,000 pounds do it? Yeah, it's at 6,500. Yeah
Uh, 2019 f150 long bed regular cab with eight foot bed as a curb weight ranging from 4,400 to 4,700 for the XL train
Plus the bed cover plus the subs plus the turbos plus. Yeah, I mean, it's it's probably every bit of 5,000. Yes
Okay, so a little bit lighter. So then, you know, it may it may take the 950 to run this 615 number that he wants
But either way, either way it made good power and he's gonna be stoked about it
All he needs to do is continue to
Get better at the burnouts and cut a light and man, he's gonna be fine
He uh, he's just out there having a good time. That's the main thing, right?
He like he's one of them out there that's genuinely just having a good time
As long as he doesn't get as competitive as us. Yes, then everything's gonna be fine. Yeah
No, it's uh, it's cool to see him out there and and ben also, you know
He's been working on his osmobile to get it ready and all that stuff
It's cool to see those guys. Yeah, but if you're if your car can go a 650 680 whatever
Then you can run 70 and just be out in front of somebody, you know, even if he believes, you know, you know
Yeah, okay. Well
Is that is that gonna do it for episode 15? Oh, right? That was pretty good episode
We're probably have about an hour, right? Plus the before that. So, you know our six hour seven. Yeah
So I didn't have to be yet. Oh man
You probably know we haven't been the the full hour, you know
So, uh, I guess that's gonna do it for episode 15. Uh, we appreciate you guys watching and or listening as always
um
We're gonna go start racing maybe not this weekend, but next weekend. We're hitting it with the pro mod
Uh, and then for sure outlaw syndicate and then a couple weeks after that
We have our next nha race at brainerd with the nova for the uh outlaw street
Yes, and then that's what we gotta do good at. Yeah
I uh
I feel like our sentiments are the same. I'd really like to win
I don't I want to win with every car we really like to win. We gotta win. Yeah
I want a diamond walley. I want my tattoo
What tattoo if he gets a diamond walley and we get a diamond walley tattoo
Fair enough, uh, so yeah, uh, that's that's kind of our plans here for the next month lots of racing
Um, but until the end check out all the youtube videos that we're putting out
We got you know our thursday uh weekly recaps. We've got a few sunday project videos. We've actually okay. Here's one
We didn't talk about our next week's podcast podcast. No, we should have covered this earlier
But if you're still here watching with us, uh
We've already pre-recorded a podcast we have
We didn't know that we were gonna post it. Yes, but it's a it this podcast is done. It's being finished up as we speak

Yeah, like all of it even the end part
The end member the end it got pretty uh, we were talking about some things. Anyways, um
Next week's podcast
Is done so you're getting two podcasts. It was right around the time I got the vasectomy
It was it was literally like two or three weeks after that
And uh, so anyways, that's next week's podcast. We have a video coming out this sunday
Um of actual ram jack work
So we went over to ryan martin's house. They did a project there
You're gonna see what all if you haven't watched our video before on ram jack
Be sure to watch this one. You're gonna figure out what ram jack is how they do it
It's pretty cool. And how good they are at what they do to be able to tell that they weren't even really there
