Hello and welcome to the CarGuy Coffee Podcast. You are listening to the interbrews at the NCM
00:05
Client and Friends event. Enjoy these conversations. Let's brew! What's going on Car Guys and Car
00:11
Gals? It's Lou Ramirez the Car Guy and we are Brewing Solutions at the NCM Associates,
00:16
Clients and Friends Workshop and look at who we got here. Some locals in the house that
00:21
are able to go to their house, sleep in their bed during this event, which has its own
00:26
sense of special, but help us to make welcome for the first time on the CarGuy Coffee Podcast,
00:32
the one, the only Rachel and Anthony. No! Welcome to the show. party.
00:39
party. We're doing amazing. So, thankful that you all are out here, but you all are locals. Tell us
00:44
a little bit about your store, what you're doing here and tell us a little bit why you're at the
00:49
event. I'm going to pass it to the lady first. I'm married, so that's why I'm here.
00:55
My husband's an entrepreneur and we got involved in the car business and
01:00
he's doing it constantly. So, here I am. So, I'm here to learn. What about you? Yeah, absolutely.
01:07
It was five years ago. We got a phone call from two friends. Their dealership was doing bad,
01:12
asked us for a decent investment. We did that and didn't know much about the automotive business.
01:17
What's the matter? She's been an entrepreneur my whole life and wanted to help them out.
01:21
They were strictly a buy here, pay here facility and me just jumping in. I tried to learn everything
01:27
like Rachel was going to roll up our sleeves and do collections and call people. And first I said,
01:32
he said, you want to do it? And I said, no, we're not doing this. And then we did. It's great for
01:36
marriage. I bet it is. Speaking of great for marriage, so how long have you all been married?
01:42
We don't know. Did you even turn in our marriage license? I may have forgot to know about.
01:47
We got married November of 21. His father was sick with cancer and so we wanted him to be a part
01:52
of the wedding. So, we had a COVID wedding, little chapel here in Kansas City. And so,
01:56
we're about to celebrate his four years. Four years. I was sort of the first lawyer.
02:01
Wow, this is a great history. I was looking for a man that had previously married
02:04
because I had gone through a marriage and it didn't end well. That's why I'm here from Tallahassee,
02:08
Florida. Go Seminoles. We'll plug there. But yeah, no, I met Anthony and he had blue eyes
02:14
and I was like, I'll go on a date with you. You have your hair and your teeth and you love God.
02:19
Staying, let's go way down the road. So, we've been doing this together and we just jumped in
02:25
the deep end. And after we had that store, I said, why not double down? We went and bought another
02:30
store about 25 minutes north of the location we're at right now and that's predominantly retail
02:37
sales. And so, as we went into it, I come from the tech background, started a tech company,
02:43
sold a tech company. And what I kind of saw in the automotive space, it's just ripe for a lot
02:47
of great opportunity with AI and some of the technology out there. So, we decided to go
02:52
all in, rebrand our stores. We're going through that right now and our hope is to buy another one
02:57
before the end of the year. And so, focused on those used car sales. And I told Rachel, we're
03:02
going to become YouTube sensations are just listening to everybody and learning from everybody.
03:07
And that's what we've been doing. That's what we do on dates. We listen to the podcast
03:11
and all the car people. Awesome. Well, make sure that you listen to the Car Guy Coffee podcast
03:15
on YouTube and all channels where you can get your podcast. But that's an awesome story. Welcome
03:21
to Automotive, you serial entrepreneur you. That's awesome that you're able to jump kind of see that
03:27
and then converting over to retail or just running a primarily retail operation. That is next level
03:33
stuff. But I don't think people really give enough respect to how hard it is to run a buy here pay
03:38
here operation. That is a challenge. That is something that takes commitment. And you got to
03:43
see the big game in order to stay in the game and keep making it work. You guys are in the game
03:48
getting better, having some fun at an event like this. What made you want to be a part of this event?
03:54
I think the networking opportunity, even when we saw some of the vendors that were going to be here,
03:59
you know, individuals, I didn't even realize as I started noticing all the people. I think
04:04
number one in any business is the ability to network, you know, learn from people that have been
04:09
there. And it seems more than any industry that have been a part of Automotive is really willing
04:14
to help other people out other dealers. I'll just say at most industries, it's very segmented. We
04:20
don't want to help you. We're competitors. This it's like, Hey, I got a dealership down the road,
04:24
but let me help you and see what you're doing. So I again, I didn't know much about Automotive.
04:29
I'm the guy that if I have to change a battery or break, I'm going to take it somewhere. But I
04:33
kind of fell in love with it. And we're going to see this through and how we can help more customers.
04:38
It's exciting. It's exciting. Exciting. She's excited. Yes. I'm having a great time. I promise.
04:47
No, that's hilarious. The idea though, of being able to come network and learn from people that's
04:54
critical. But the sentiment that car guys are very willing to help, I am so thankful. That's the
05:02
view that you have of Automotive now, because that's not the automotive I came in with. Everybody
05:07
kept their secrets close to hand every nobody wanted to tell you who their cool vendor was,
05:12
especially if you were anywhere near the same market as them in any way, shape or form, they
05:17
would keep their cards close to the chest. And now we are at a stage where we're seeing more and
05:23
more people sharing because at the end of the day, me sharing how you can be better, by the way,
05:28
that I'm getting better is only going to help me still be better one way or another, because
05:34
there's some sort of gratitude that we get out of seeing you win over things that we hope to
05:38
coach you through, right? Being inside of this business now, there are so many different
05:43
opportunities and things that are evolving and coming forward, coming from the tech world.
05:47
Okay, the advancement is only going to continue. This the technology isn't slowing down. What are
05:52
some of the cool things that are on the horizon that have you pretty pumped up about this new
05:56
adventure that you're on? I'll ask you this exciting adventure that you're on. What are some of the
06:01
things that you've seen here that are exciting about the future to you? For me as a woman,
06:05
being able to network with other women that are here, because it's a lot of men,
06:09
which men are great. I'm married to one. But just learning different strategies and things that have
06:15
worked well for people and getting to talk to, I talk to every single vendor. So all the vendors
06:19
know who I am now, whether they pertain to me or not. But just to get even just a small bit of
06:24
information that could help us or could propel us forward has been just for me great, because I've
06:30
been here this week. You just flew back last night. So he took a red eye. And but the conference
06:34
just getting to meet all the different dealers, managers, things like that, and just learn things
06:40
that they have learned over the years. And I'm learning it in five minutes. So for me, it's been
06:45
beneficial to have the was the cliff notes version of things. Because you don't necessarily need to
06:51
go through all the pain and all the anguish of some of the lessons that a lot of people sitting on
06:55
these stages, walking in these halls have had to grind through, because automotive is incredibly
07:01
resilient. But to be able to learn from those that have all the battle scars, and be able to
07:07
implement it and come out squeaky clean, there's got to be something special to that, especially
07:10
when you're just now jumping into the business, right? Yeah, absolutely. I think, I think the
07:16
one thing that I've seen and I'm really excited for is technology is going to allow, I think,
07:22
the cell process not to be so transactional, right? I think I'm looking at our use car lots and
07:28
stuff like that to be more retention impersonable and driving conversations and building relationships
07:34
and net promoter scores, things like that. And I think that probably is what excites me the most
07:39
was seeing some of the technology. I think you can keep a lifelong customer if you find ways to
07:44
not be so transactional in the cell and understand more. And I think that's what excites me the
07:49
most, right? As long as you can drive those conversations, that's what AI is doing. And
07:53
then develop your sales team that when they come there, we can work inside. That's the exciting
07:57
part. This is exciting me because they are so new to this industry, but they're coming in with
08:03
such the right mentality. I believe that a lot of people that do come into this industry viewing
08:08
it from the outside are set up to succeed, especially in this day and age. Because to your
08:14
point, there's so much information here. There's so much to get that can help you move the ball
08:19
just a little bit more each and every day. How do people find out about your store if they want to
08:24
stop by and visit? We got solutionaries all throughout the nation, and they just might be in
08:28
Kansas City and might want to take a little pop by your store or any of the incredible vendors
08:32
that you see out here might want to just walk in and just say, Hey, I've seen you on the podcast.
08:36
Just wanted to say what's up. We were at the same spot. How can they find you off?
08:40
Yeah, just go to SSadoKC.com. That's our current brand here in about three weeks. You guys will
08:46
see a brand new launch called Good Autos. And that's going to be our net new project or development
08:50
or rebrand of all of our stores. And you'll start finding us on social engagement and things like
08:56
that. We're excited. That's exciting. Heck yeah. We want to make sure that we do give love to those
09:01
that are putting on the event. Do you have anything to say to the awesome staff, the awesome people
09:05
running around making sure that this entire event has been curated to perfection? Because they always
09:10
do it excellent. Anything that you want to say, especially to the ladies running around, making
09:14
sure that we all get our stuff in gear. Thank you, Julie. Julie, Julie.
09:23
Yes, it's been amazing. Seriously, just the way that everything's been laid out, the food,
09:29
the food's been incredible. Shouldn't have probably eaten a lot of it. I'm gluten sensitive. And that's
09:33
fine. Don't tell my mom and mom don't watch this. Yeah, yeah, but Coke products would be a plus for
09:39
next time now. Amen. Come on, people. The biggest room in the world is the room for improvement.
09:45
And Coke products would definitely be a way to clean out some of those corners inside of that room.
09:50
You still have the rest of this half day left. This is the shorter day you made the red eye to
09:54
come in. But based off of seeing on a satellite what's been happening, because she's been buzzing
09:59
around all over the place, got you signed up for a podcast, he said, What am I doing? What are we
10:04
talking about? What did you sign me up for? All that stuff. She's part of the whole experience.
10:07
You got to do it. But what are you enjoying about the event on the bit that you have seen?
10:12
Yeah, I think, again, just going back to those vendors, you continually research, follow your
10:16
start to see some of those people, the drive century, stuff like that in person. And I think
10:21
being in person is so much more advanced than just social media doing stuff. And so I think
10:26
that's the great thing. So start networking some more and again, gotta get mad props to the great
10:31
coffee out there. They put sweet and low there. I really judge coffee places. If you don't have
10:35
sweet and low, then I don't think it's good coffee, but it's just my two cents that everybody has
10:41
their opinion. Everybody's cup is their own cup. But either way, you're responsible to sip it up.
10:47
And over here, we've been brewing a whole lot of solutions. A lot of great stuff is going on.
10:51
But you missed the first day where we taught everybody how to drop f bombs. So this is something
10:56
that you can take to your business in order to keep growing. And it's not the f bombs that offend
11:00
the moms live with drivers in the room speaking of Steve Roth, sirs up in here. Do you have drive
11:04
centric by the way? Who is your CRM with? We actually still when we acquired them, they had
11:10
an older one. So we're actually in the process of looking at them and we have a call with you.
11:14
Again, not enough. Oh, here it comes. Here it comes. I got more people. This is just an endorsement.
11:20
Drive centric. Literally, it's not because I have Steve in this room, but with my clients,
11:25
I'm the best sales first. So you want to talk to me. What is going on?
11:34
Three. No one right now. Oh, perfect. I was hoping to just skate least.
11:44
But that's the environment that we're in, everybody. That is the hair himself.
11:49
Mr. Steve Rossler, the drive with live guy or the live with drive guy. He always calls us the
11:57
coffee car dudes or coffee car guys gets our name wrong all the time, but he is live with drive.
12:03
We start messing with him. But no, as you see, everybody, the environment here is all friendly
12:09
because it literally has friends inside of the name of the event. And there is so much to take
12:14
away so many opportunities, but to also have access to the people because at the end of the day,
12:19
with all the technology that we use, connecting to the right people is pivotal for anybody's
12:23
business to move forward. I am so thankful that you all took the time with us. But with that,
12:27
these f bombs are to forgive focus fly. There is a little bit of dancing with it where you did
12:31
you remember the moves? Were you in the room for that? Nope. By the look on your face, you don't
12:35
know what I'm talking about. So with that, we wipe off the weight of unforgiveness. We get focused
12:41
on where we want to go. We want to help and what we have control over. And then we stretch out and
12:47
we fly so that we can keep rolling all the time. So come on in a little bit more. We're going to aim
12:53
at the camera. We're going to say the words or get focused by all 3123 forget,
12:59
focus, line and keep growing, keep growing. Car guys and car guys, we appreciate your time.
13:06
I am Lou Ramirez, the car guy and you've been building solutions on the car guy coffee podcast
13:10
here in Kansas City. Come on over here a little bit with these incredible individuals seeing that
13:17
a marriage inside of the car business can work folks. They are doing a great job at it and they've
13:23
married into the car business and we're so thankful that you are here and you are making this happen
13:28
for all of us. Show us how it's done. Learn, learn, learn, keep growing. But thank you so much for
13:33
doing on the podcast. We have this couple, the one, the only Rachel and Anthony. No. We appreciate
13:41
you all. Have a good one. We're out.
