And you hate it. I don't love the sound. Okay, but you know the Subaru outback. Yes, that's right. Everybody has one. Their entire world has one. There's a lot. There's a lot. My sister, my mother, my mom, all of our friends. Your dad's got one. Wow. Your family, your family.

Dorado, everybody I knew as a kid, I had one. All right. Well, we never did. This is the same in that it's the same powertrains, the same ride height, which is notable because it already has more ride height than those things. Yeah, we're sorry, the ground clearance. But what they've done is they've added two inches of height to the body itself. It does look taller. More SUVs than before. And it had already been trending in the direction because it started life as a wagon. Yeah. And now it's in straight across. We're stopping pretty soon. We're not going to be able to pretend anymore. There were a lot of debates about whether the current

outback is a wagon. Comparatively, it is the most wagony wagon known to me. Okay, so you don't like how it looks. Can it go to Google and pull up a couple more pictures of the new, the, here we go, the new outback. This was just revealed minutes ago. And it's, it's, it's, it's square. I got to tell you, I don't, I'm not obsessed with it either. However, I have not liked any generation of outback styling since the one that ended in like, oh, nine. Yeah, that was a good job. And I'll be honest with you, the, the car world is going square. Like that's what's happening.

In the car world, well, especially for off road stuff. I mean, Toyota made it pretty clear and Lexus to with the stuff they rolled out. The G X, the legs, the user, the tell your ride, the Palisade, they've all got square. I mean, the Bronco. I mean, everything is very people love these box units. Yes, wearing this isn't the problem. Yes, it is. You don't like the wheel arches. Okay, Polar are the other rear photo. That one, that one looks too nice. Pull up an ugly photo. Cherry pick. That's what it looks like. It just looks like, I

can't actually look really wagging in this. It's maybe rendering. If I get a regardless, I don't. The sound is not for me. There's a lot of plastic, especially in the wilderness trim. It just isn't quite, but the wilderness has always had a lot of plastic. Yeah, it's like that. Yeah. So they revealed this in New York. Go back to New York. Oh, you did. I've been 26. Yeah, there's not a lot of pictures of it on there, but yeah, because it's just been revealed. Maybe it's, I don't like the way it looks. You like that rear, the, the color with the, yeah, there's a lot going on. But like it's, it's, you know,

I don't, it's not offensive. One interesting thing to me, I will say about this. There is the same, like you said, the powertrain is the same. It's a two and a half liter flat for the 180 horsepower. This is, or there's a turbo one with 260 horsepower. But that base engine, which is what almost everyone gets, has been the engine in the outback since I was a child. So like, I'm not screwing with you. Like every outback, it used to be 165 horsepower, but then it's 70, 70, 75. Now it's 180. But like, it's the same engine. Yeah.

It's crazy. They're still getting away with that. I know. And people, by the way, you should know that Subaru sales numbers are up month over month over month over month over month over month for something like the last three years, or something. I, I could claim here that they are misunderstanding their consumer. And that people are buying the outback over the forest or over other SUVs in the segment because they want to be more raggedy. But honestly, I'm wrong because Subaru sells more cars. Some wagony thing that they still have to be tied to that I think some people who buy this want to have sort of a holier than that attitude that they don't have a SUV. Yeah.

I think that goes away a little bit here. I think everybody considers this a wagon, even if dimensionally, it might not be. I think like mentally, when we think of the outback, it's a wagon. You know, can we pull up their new other wagon? Okay. Subaru also revealed the trail seeker. Do we have that someplace Subaru trail seeker out the trail seeker, which actually looks more wagony.

It is actually in the photo of one down for that. Yeah, the same photo crop, the time. One more down. It was, I think this one is far left far left. No, down, down, all right. Yeah, look at that. That looks cool. The trail seeker is the same phone for those who are listening.

What the trail seeker is the Subaru sold Tara, which is also known as the Toyota BZ4 X with some capitalization. Yeah, the upper case, the upper case X. This is just six inches longer than a BZ4. But Filippo, it's better. It has the claim 375 horsepower. That's pretty zero 60 and fourth. I know. I got to be honest with you. This is a Subaru sold Tara is the worst car on sale. It's I'm out there. I'm saying it the worst car on sale. It's tied with the BZ4. Yeah.

They are the worst cars for sale today. The ugliest, worst value, overpriced, bad performance, bad range, everything about him is terrible. This is appealing. This looks better. I will say it has 260 miles of range, which is not that competitive. It's not terrible. It's not that competitive. It could be it could be a little more. But if it was 300, it'd be fine. But it does have 8.3 inches of ground clearance or something there about most. And it looks pretty good. You will make a look better looking in the out there. So suddenly there's an alternative pattern where you look at it from the

front. No, because I don't. So this old Tara has been refreshed with a new front end. You don't like how this looks? It's the same front end. It's on the trail figure. Sorry. You don't like how this looks. This looks nice. It looks like a sportier, like more accessible outback. Honestly, this is how the outback will go down to that picture in the like in real life. It looks kind of cool. It's also only a few inches shorter. I think something like three inches shorter than that current outback. I've not confirmed against the new one. So this is outback size. It's all electric turns.

This is an appealing car. That becomes an appealing car. Now, 213 miles of range is not a great introduction. No, my three 75 horses. Yeah, my fate. We have for every super owner has made do with 170 horse hours for the last few decades. I don't think they care that much about going up an extra to maybe they're trying to get new customers. There's the WRX hub. There's a highlander now and a grand highlander. Right. Super was got to step up their game. They don't have to have a highlander. They got a grand highlander. They don't just need to solterra. They need to seek trails. Oh, yeah. The best part about it though.

Just because I find this amusing. It's because it's based on the BZ Forex. It has a new infotainment system that is identical to the Lexus infotainment system. So it's the largest. It's a larger screen, but it is. This is the one I have in my sequins. It's the Lexus tell me that it's one because it has the Lexus dials, which I found here's a question for you. Toyota must. They're going to be a Toyota version of this. There's got to be. You got to assume if they're doing this, the cars are made on the same platform. The only way they can justify the continued production of the trash BZ Forex is by making a better

BZ 6X. Maybe BZ 8X. Maybe they should just name it something. BZ Forex plus. It's funny because Toyota's leaned into these wagons. They got the BZ Forex. They have the crown caliper. What's it called? I don't know. I don't understand any of it. That's a watch reference for Kennen. I enjoy the. But there's going to be a Toyota version. I bet you got to assume. That's interesting. A Toyota wagon with all wheel drive and 400 horsepower. That's appealing. This crown signal have that. Crown signal is like a four cylinder hybrid thing. And they claim it's not

like. Super news is over. Super news is over. But that's a lot of big news. The Outback is one of the best selling cars in the United States. And when a new one comes, it's definitely worth discussing. And I think that the Sunseeker Trailhawk Seeker Trail is a pretty appealing vehicle to outmail it. Thanks. We'll see these everywhere. Super will sell a lot of them. I like it. It looks like the new Santa Fe. You probably hated the new Santa Fe. No, I was first shown. Oh my god. But something about the D pillar being plastic.

It makes it look like. Have you seen a Honda BRV? Yeah. Which is like a glad American market cheap seven-seater going down a really narrow road with only a few people on it. Be careful. Don't fall off the side. It looks like a car built by a developing market break for developing market. Okay. It's not good enough for Felipe. Well, it's good enough for Doug. It must be nice to be rich. We want the next one, which is the Sunseeker. Okay. Next one is this.

They're changing gears. So they're changing gears. They're all CBTs. Oh, nice. Thank you. Well for the WF jokes on you because it's electric. So there are no gears. So anyway. So we're talking about McMurtry. They recently put out a video this week of their car being upside down. Now cars have been driven upside down in the past. Yes. The idea being that the car drains so much down force that exceeds the weight of the car, meaning that it can drive upside down. The interesting thing about it, though, was this car wasn't actually driving when it did it. It's just using the fans.

It's a fan car. So it's just using the ground effect fans on it to suck earlier. And it's just on. It can be flipped upside down. That's how much down force Jerry's 10,000 result. You agree this is kind of BS. It's like the bouncing car. I mean, it's it's BS. And that obviously it's it's clearly a stunt. No, but I mean it can't the fact that it can't do it is insane. But it's using fans to do the down force. When we think of having enough down force to drive a car upside down, we're thinking of a road down force. Yes. I know.

When fans and it can do it, I get it. But like, it's driving. You get what I'm saying. Like I want to see everybody's always set to say, Lena seven has enough down force topper it up. Sit down. I want to see that 200 miles an hour upside down. That's the cool thing. We're all hoping to see. This is like it's treating the system. Like it has fans that are providing the down force rather than the arrow on the car. Correct. And so it's a little right. But then it does still have arrow. So you can only imagine the amount of down force that has all that works together. And I get that the point that they're making is that. But what I want to see and what I think that he wants to see. Yeah.

The car driving upside down at 200 miles an hour. Could I be honest? Well, I guess I care about seeing any of that. It's not for you to make my mercury. So this is an electric car that was built, like just for track use only basically. And it has dominated everything. It said it. You know, I think last year, it was like watching. It was like watching sped up footage is how fast it was because the amount of down force generates. It's largely. I mean, you can buy them. They are literally expensive. Yes. You don't know about this car. This car.

Because he's going to be blown away by what it looks like. Yeah, it's it's the McMurtry. It's called the McMurtry spurling. It might be spherling. We call. We say sped in there. And the cool thing about it is it looks like a meme in itself. It's the wheelbase is really short. And it's like kind of a laughable little thing. It is cool. But what's not laughable is the performance. I mean, it's apparently the down force and the down force isn't that the same car. No, there's a new car. No, it's the same car. This is the car that has the down force that went upside down. Pull up a video form because when you see it in motion is when you realize that it doesn't make any sense.

Do you agree? Like I said, it looks like sped up footage. It's hard to like comprehend. Look, look how little it is. Look at that. That is tiny. Shout out to our friend. The car while. That walks and killing it. Look at that thing. Isn't that hilarious? It doesn't look real. Doesn't. Okay. We're good. I believe it. It understands the concept now. Yeah. It's very, very fast. Highly encourage you to go watch it. Slap a good one because it is otherworldly. I can't believe you don't know about the spherling. He only knows electric Subaru wagon. Yeah. Between the two of you, you got a whole

car industry. It is electric also to be clear. Yeah. I mean, you know, zero to 60 and 1.5 seconds. You watch videos of it going and it's like. I got this is real. I saw it. Laguna Saka last year. I actually saw one spin out, which was impressive. Given the amount of downforce. It went to watch it go around. Like Laguna Saka, too, is crazy. And the amount of dirt that it kicks up as a result of its suction to the ground. Right. I think that I think that this this stunt was cool. It was cool down force demonstrated. Yeah. However, I think

when people think about the concept of the car, providing so much time for us to go down, you're thinking about it using the arrow diet down force. It's like passive, rather than an active system that's keeping it on the. That's just my thought. I think it's cool, but I think it's a little bit of a game. You really don't like Gordon Murray, huh? The whole car is involved in this. No, but he was the one who kind of pioneered the fan car design and like that. It's his baby. I like Gordon. I like Gordon. Do you like that? It says McMurray parking only upside down? Upside down. Yeah. All right. Next new story. And this is a huge one. Oh, yeah. Miata.

chief technical officer of of Mazda, whose name I will not try to pronounce. We were he and some other people from the Mazda team spoke about the next generation. Miata, the currently on the N. D. Miata North Dakota. We call it the N. D. The next one is going to be called the Nebraska though. I think we're all in agreement.

Intusious. The broad understandings of the N. D. will be around till 2030. So we have four or five more years. But they are, they are working on the next generation one. And crucially, they've said that it will be lighter than the current one and that lightness and lightness and lightness are what's most important to the Miata, by the way, that is pulled almost verbatim from a quote. They have where the most important thing about the Miata is lightness, but the second most important thing is lightness. It always has been that. I know it's gotten heavier. There was news from

the Mazda dealers in the US that asked for it to be more powerful and a little bit bigger. And Mazda corporate has said, no, we were going to make it less powerful or about the same power for emissions reasons to be a mission compliant, but we're also going to make it about the same size and lighter and have a manual, which there's no other new cars plan for 2030 that kind of are forced on their naturally aspirated light, you know, the man. I was reading this news straight. I was astonished to see that Mazda is claiming that Americans specifically wanted the car to be bigger and more.

That may be some dealers may have requested that every person I know who's into the Miata wants a light, small, lightweight, little car like the N.A.

We know that the N.D. is shorter than the N.A.

Yeah, it makes sense based on how it looks at it. And the N.D. is only slightly heavier than the N.A.

The N.D. is the second lightest Miata. It's honestly impressive when you can have a safe modern car.

When you think about how many more regulations they had in 2015 versus the 1990, 25 years earlier, it's an impressive car.

I think I still think the N.D. is the best Miata I ever made.

And I want one.

You know, what do you like the N.A.? What do you have an N.D.?

I'm an N.A. man.

I love the N.A.

Have you driven an N.D.?

I have an N.D.

I drove an N.D. that was on the for sale on the site.

And how can you disagree?

I did love the N.D. and that one had a supercharger.

That was the only modification, just brought the power up and it was perfect.

I think that the N.D. is amazing.

It is amazing to hear them say that they Americans want more size.

Everybody I know who likes this car likes it for its little size.

And the N.C. has always been the stepchild of the whole family because it did get a little bit bigger.

And how was hard to pull hardtop?

Well, there was a power of terrible hardbackers and just like the rest of this.

And it was tough.

It was tough.

The rest of the performance stuff.

It's a retractable hard time.

I will say it is five more years.

That is what the rumors are.

They did not.

The car isn't in production yet.

But it's important that they're committed to the lightness and the kind of size that

it is right now.

That means that they're committed to me on the community.

I do wonder the next one.

Is it going to be all guests?

So CRZ they have talked about the fact that I don't know where that kind of assuming that

they can.

The next one is to basically stick with a naturally aspirated 4-cylinder nonhybrid.

They did recognize in some of the interviews that like, does the chance of that changes

on the world stage where they have no choice, but till they, while they can, they're not

planning to go in hybrid or electric with it.

But it will be very fuel efficient, which makes sense because it is.

I think that this is cool.

It's great that somebody's sticking with it.

We make a lot of fun of Porsche for planning on an electric boxer that we think nobody will

buy.

Yeah.

Mods are doing the opposite.

It's also been interesting to see how they position the Mazda internally, right?

They view it as their halo car.

Their brand is about driving dynamics and having fun to drive cars.

And their only real fun to drive car is the Miata, but that's propelled the brand in

that direction.

Yeah.

I completely agree with all that.

And I think that that's all accurate.

And I do agree that it's nice to see them committing to it and BRZ and FRS.

And I think that any sports car these days, especially an affordable sports car that is

being committed to by an automaker to this day is like a great thing.

I was surprised to see a second gen of the BRZ and FRS.

I'm kind of surprised.

Mazda was always going to do another Miata, but we're always kind of wondering where it was

going to go.

Especially it sounds like it's going to stay true with 15-year product cycles.

Yeah.

Yeah, they're long, but it is, it's just, they're just wonderful.

So obviously I have a huge, huge emotional attachment to the car which was revealed this

morning.

belovedness for the car.

You're like admiration.

You know, I don't really remember.

I had like two hours with it and they came and gone, but it looks cool.

I think it looks great.

And I will sell well.

The crush will be, what does the key tell you right look like?

Yeah, I'm very curious what tell you right looks like because Palisade has gone square.

There's a couple new things that are interesting about Palisade.

And by the way, this is an important news story beyond the fact that it was the first

person to be around it because Palisade is a really popular product.

It's paying to wrap the ID buzz so it'll sell, which honestly is a pretty good idea because

I haven't seen a full color one yet.

I wouldn't even consider one that is a two-tone.

It looks so cool.

Also, the single colors are boring, it's like gray and silver.

I've seen maybe four ID buzzes, five on the road.

They're all the two-tone.

They all look absolutely wonderful.

That theory is actually dumber than my theory.

And my theory is that they came out with a spike car.

They didn't want the urban cruiser market to go.

The actual answer to this is the following.

The United States market is incredibly difficult to sell cars

in a particular gas powered cars.

There's an enormous amount of regulations.

That's hard.

The US market has an enormous amount of regulations

that a lot of other markets don't have,

or where the other markets are consistent across.

Yeah, that's right.

There's a lot of consistent regulations

that only apply to the US market.

In addition, the physical size of the United States

makes it difficult to sell cars here.

Because you can't just start selling cars in North Carolina.

You've got to show up with a dealer network

versus the entire country, and that is very hard to establish.

And Suzuki just realized they're not making enough money

to justify this ridiculous investment

that the United States market is.

Now, if you can crack the US market and get the dealer network

and build out the cars and make the regs,

you can have huge success because there's a lot of Americans

and they have a lot of money relative to other places.

But Suzuki just decided it ain't worth it for them

and there are other markets that are worth doing more.

The chimney would be very difficult to get

as United States regulations.

I drove one.

It started life and still exists in some forms

as a K-car in Japan.

It is tremendously tiny.

That's right.

One car that sells or doesn't sell, I don't really care.

I also cherry pick cars that I think are specifically interesting, right?

The bravada is interesting, but it was a massive failure.
