Hey! Hello and welcome to this car, pump! I'm Kevin. I'm Philippa. And let's start with news because there's a lot of it. This is the new Subaru outback. Yes, it is. The new Subaru outback. And you hate it. I don't love the sound. Okay, but you know the Subaru outback. Yes, that's right. Everybody has one. Their entire world has one. There's a lot. There's a lot. My sister, my mother, my mom, all of our friends. Your dad's got one. Wow. Your family, your family.
Dorado, everybody I knew as a kid, I had one. All right. Well, we never did. This is the same in that it's the same powertrains, the same ride height, which is notable because it already has more ride height than those things. Yeah, we're sorry, the ground clearance. But what they've done is they've added two inches of height to the body itself. It does look taller. More SUVs than before. And it had already been trending in the direction because it started life as a wagon. Yeah. And now it's in straight across. We're stopping pretty soon. We're not going to be able to pretend anymore. There were a lot of debates about whether the current
outback is a wagon. Comparatively, it is the most wagony wagon known to me. Okay, so you don't like how it looks. Can it go to Google and pull up a couple more pictures of the new, the, here we go, the new outback. This was just revealed minutes ago. And it's, it's, it's, it's square. I got to tell you, I don't, I'm not obsessed with it either. However, I have not liked any generation of outback styling since the one that ended in like, oh, nine. Yeah, that was a good job. And I'll be honest with you, the, the car world is going square. Like that's what's happening.
In the car world, well, especially for off road stuff. I mean, Toyota made it pretty clear and Lexus to with the stuff they rolled out. The G X, the legs, the user, the tell your ride, the Palisade, they've all got square. I mean, the Bronco. I mean, everything is very people love these box units. Yes, wearing this isn't the problem. Yes, it is. You don't like the wheel arches. Okay, Polar are the other rear photo. That one, that one looks too nice. Pull up an ugly photo. Cherry pick. That's what it looks like. It just looks like, I
can't actually look really wagging in this. It's maybe rendering. If I get a regardless, I don't. The sound is not for me. There's a lot of plastic, especially in the wilderness trim. It just isn't quite, but the wilderness has always had a lot of plastic. Yeah, it's like that. Yeah. So they revealed this in New York. Go back to New York. Oh, you did. I've been 26. Yeah, there's not a lot of pictures of it on there, but yeah, because it's just been revealed. Maybe it's, I don't like the way it looks. You like that rear, the, the color with the, yeah, there's a lot going on. But like it's, it's, you know,
I don't, it's not offensive. One interesting thing to me, I will say about this. There is the same, like you said, the powertrain is the same. It's a two and a half liter flat for the 180 horsepower. This is, or there's a turbo one with 260 horsepower. But that base engine, which is what almost everyone gets, has been the engine in the outback since I was a child. So like, I'm not screwing with you. Like every outback, it used to be 165 horsepower, but then it's 70, 70, 75. Now it's 180. But like, it's the same engine. Yeah.
It's crazy. They're still getting away with that. I know. And people, by the way, you should know that Subaru sales numbers are up month over month over month over month over month over month for something like the last three years, or something. I, I could claim here that they are misunderstanding their consumer. And that people are buying the outback over the forest or over other SUVs in the segment because they want to be more raggedy. But honestly, I'm wrong because Subaru sells more cars. Some wagony thing that they still have to be tied to that I think some people who buy this want to have sort of a holier than that attitude that they don't have a SUV. Yeah.
I think that goes away a little bit here. I think everybody considers this a wagon, even if dimensionally, it might not be. I think like mentally, when we think of the outback, it's a wagon. You know, can we pull up their new other wagon? Okay. Subaru also revealed the trail seeker. Do we have that someplace Subaru trail seeker out the trail seeker, which actually looks more wagony.
It is actually in the photo of one down for that. Yeah, the same photo crop, the time. One more down. It was, I think this one is far left far left. No, down, down, all right. Yeah, look at that. That looks cool. The trail seeker is the same phone for those who are listening.
What the trail seeker is the Subaru sold Tara, which is also known as the Toyota BZ4 X with some capitalization. Yeah, the upper case, the upper case X. This is just six inches longer than a BZ4. But Filippo, it's better. It has the claim 375 horsepower. That's pretty zero 60 and fourth. I know. I got to be honest with you. This is a Subaru sold Tara is the worst car on sale. It's I'm out there. I'm saying it the worst car on sale. It's tied with the BZ4. Yeah.
They are the worst cars for sale today. The ugliest, worst value, overpriced, bad performance, bad range, everything about him is terrible. This is appealing. This looks better. I will say it has 260 miles of range, which is not that competitive. It's not terrible. It's not that competitive. It could be it could be a little more. But if it was 300, it'd be fine. But it does have 8.3 inches of ground clearance or something there about most. And it looks pretty good. You will make a look better looking in the out there. So suddenly there's an alternative pattern where you look at it from the
front. No, because I don't. So this old Tara has been refreshed with a new front end. You don't like how this looks? It's the same front end. It's on the trail figure. Sorry. You don't like how this looks. This looks nice. It looks like a sportier, like more accessible outback. Honestly, this is how the outback will go down to that picture in the like in real life. It looks kind of cool. It's also only a few inches shorter. I think something like three inches shorter than that current outback. I've not confirmed against the new one. So this is outback size. It's all electric turns.
This is an appealing car. That becomes an appealing car. Now, 213 miles of range is not a great introduction. No, my three 75 horses. Yeah, my fate. We have for every super owner has made do with 170 horse hours for the last few decades. I don't think they care that much about going up an extra to maybe they're trying to get new customers. There's the WRX hub. There's a highlander now and a grand highlander. Right. Super was got to step up their game. They don't have to have a highlander. They got a grand highlander. They don't just need to solterra. They need to seek trails. Oh, yeah. The best part about it though.
Just because I find this amusing. It's because it's based on the BZ Forex. It has a new infotainment system that is identical to the Lexus infotainment system. So it's the largest. It's a larger screen, but it is. This is the one I have in my sequins. It's the Lexus tell me that it's one because it has the Lexus dials, which I found here's a question for you. Toyota must. They're going to be a Toyota version of this. There's got to be. You got to assume if they're doing this, the cars are made on the same platform. The only way they can justify the continued production of the trash BZ Forex is by making a better
BZ 6X. Maybe BZ 8X. Maybe they should just name it something. BZ Forex plus. It's funny because Toyota's leaned into these wagons. They got the BZ Forex. They have the crown caliper. What's it called? I don't know. I don't understand any of it. That's a watch reference for Kennen. I enjoy the. But there's going to be a Toyota version. I bet you got to assume. That's interesting. A Toyota wagon with all wheel drive and 400 horsepower. That's appealing. This crown signal have that. Crown signal is like a four cylinder hybrid thing. And they claim it's not
like. Super news is over. Super news is over. But that's a lot of big news. The Outback is one of the best selling cars in the United States. And when a new one comes, it's definitely worth discussing. And I think that the Sunseeker Trailhawk Seeker Trail is a pretty appealing vehicle to outmail it. Thanks. We'll see these everywhere. Super will sell a lot of them. I like it. It looks like the new Santa Fe. You probably hated the new Santa Fe. No, I was first shown. Oh my god. But something about the D pillar being plastic.
It makes it look like. Have you seen a Honda BRV? Yeah. Which is like a glad American market cheap seven-seater going down a really narrow road with only a few people on it. Be careful. Don't fall off the side. It looks like a car built by a developing market break for developing market. Okay. It's not good enough for Felipe. Well, it's good enough for Doug. It must be nice to be rich. We want the next one, which is the Sunseeker. Okay. Next one is this.
They're changing gears. So they're changing gears. They're all CBTs. Oh, nice. Thank you. Well for the WF jokes on you because it's electric. So there are no gears. So anyway. So we're talking about McMurtry. They recently put out a video this week of their car being upside down. Now cars have been driven upside down in the past. Yes. The idea being that the car drains so much down force that exceeds the weight of the car, meaning that it can drive upside down. The interesting thing about it, though, was this car wasn't actually driving when it did it. It's just using the fans.
It's a fan car. So it's just using the ground effect fans on it to suck earlier. And it's just on. It can be flipped upside down. That's how much down force Jerry's 10,000 result. You agree this is kind of BS. It's like the bouncing car. I mean, it's it's BS. And that obviously it's it's clearly a stunt. No, but I mean it can't the fact that it can't do it is insane. But it's using fans to do the down force. When we think of having enough down force to drive a car upside down, we're thinking of a road down force. Yes. I know.
When fans and it can do it, I get it. But like, it's driving. You get what I'm saying. Like I want to see everybody's always set to say, Lena seven has enough down force topper it up. Sit down. I want to see that 200 miles an hour upside down. That's the cool thing. We're all hoping to see. This is like it's treating the system. Like it has fans that are providing the down force rather than the arrow on the car. Correct. And so it's a little right. But then it does still have arrow. So you can only imagine the amount of down force that has all that works together. And I get that the point that they're making is that. But what I want to see and what I think that he wants to see. Yeah.
The car driving upside down at 200 miles an hour. Could I be honest? Well, I guess I care about seeing any of that. It's not for you to make my mercury. So this is an electric car that was built, like just for track use only basically. And it has dominated everything. It said it. You know, I think last year, it was like watching. It was like watching sped up footage is how fast it was because the amount of down force generates. It's largely. I mean, you can buy them. They are literally expensive. Yes. You don't know about this car. This car.
Because he's going to be blown away by what it looks like. Yeah, it's it's the McMurtry. It's called the McMurtry spurling. It might be spherling. We call. We say sped in there. And the cool thing about it is it looks like a meme in itself. It's the wheelbase is really short. And it's like kind of a laughable little thing. It is cool. But what's not laughable is the performance. I mean, it's apparently the down force and the down force isn't that the same car. No, there's a new car. No, it's the same car. This is the car that has the down force that went upside down. Pull up a video form because when you see it in motion is when you realize that it doesn't make any sense.
Do you agree? Like I said, it looks like sped up footage. It's hard to like comprehend. Look, look how little it is. Look at that. That is tiny. Shout out to our friend. The car while. That walks and killing it. Look at that thing. Isn't that hilarious? It doesn't look real. Doesn't. Okay. We're good. I believe it. It understands the concept now. Yeah. It's very, very fast. Highly encourage you to go watch it. Slap a good one because it is otherworldly. I can't believe you don't know about the spherling. He only knows electric Subaru wagon. Yeah. Between the two of you, you got a whole
car industry. It is electric also to be clear. Yeah. I mean, you know, zero to 60 and 1.5 seconds. You watch videos of it going and it's like. I got this is real. I saw it. Laguna Saka last year. I actually saw one spin out, which was impressive. Given the amount of downforce. It went to watch it go around. Like Laguna Saka, too, is crazy. And the amount of dirt that it kicks up as a result of its suction to the ground. Right. I think that I think that this this stunt was cool. It was cool down force demonstrated. Yeah. However, I think
when people think about the concept of the car, providing so much time for us to go down, you're thinking about it using the arrow diet down force. It's like passive, rather than an active system that's keeping it on the. That's just my thought. I think it's cool, but I think it's a little bit of a game. You really don't like Gordon Murray, huh? The whole car is involved in this. No, but he was the one who kind of pioneered the fan car design and like that. It's his baby. I like Gordon. I like Gordon. Do you like that? It says McMurray parking only upside down? Upside down. Yeah. All right. Next new story. And this is a huge one. Oh, yeah. Miata.

All of the car magazines blog, etc. I've been talking about a series of interviews that
chief technical officer of of Mazda, whose name I will not try to pronounce. We were he and some other people from the Mazda team spoke about the next generation. Miata, the currently on the N. D. Miata North Dakota. We call it the N. D. The next one is going to be called the Nebraska though. I think we're all in agreement.
Intusious. The broad understandings of the N. D. will be around till 2030. So we have four or five more years. But they are, they are working on the next generation one. And crucially, they've said that it will be lighter than the current one and that lightness and lightness and lightness are what's most important to the Miata, by the way, that is pulled almost verbatim from a quote. They have where the most important thing about the Miata is lightness, but the second most important thing is lightness. It always has been that. I know it's gotten heavier. There was news from
the Mazda dealers in the US that asked for it to be more powerful and a little bit bigger. And Mazda corporate has said, no, we were going to make it less powerful or about the same power for emissions reasons to be a mission compliant, but we're also going to make it about the same size and lighter and have a manual, which there's no other new cars plan for 2030 that kind of are forced on their naturally aspirated light, you know, the man. I was reading this news straight. I was astonished to see that Mazda is claiming that Americans specifically wanted the car to be bigger and more.
That may be some dealers may have requested that every person I know who's into the Miata wants a light, small, lightweight, little car like the N.A.
We know that the N.D. is shorter than the N.A.
Yeah, it makes sense based on how it looks at it. And the N.D. is only slightly heavier than the N.A.
The N.D. is the second lightest Miata. It's honestly impressive when you can have a safe modern car.
When you think about how many more regulations they had in 2015 versus the 1990, 25 years earlier, it's an impressive car.
I think I still think the N.D. is the best Miata I ever made.
And I want one.
You know, what do you like the N.A.? What do you have an N.D.?
I'm an N.A. man.
I love the N.A.
Have you driven an N.D.?
You have.
I have an N.D.
I drove an N.D. that was on the for sale on the site.
And how can you disagree?
I did love the N.D. and that one had a supercharger.
That was the only modification, just brought the power up and it was perfect.
I think that the N.D. is amazing.
It is amazing.
It is amazing to hear them say that they Americans want more size.
Everybody I know who likes this car likes it for its little size.
And the N.C. has always been the stepchild of the whole family because it did get a little bit bigger.
And how was hard to pull hardtop?
Well, there was a power of terrible hardbackers and just like the rest of this.
And it was tough.
It was tough.
The rest of the performance stuff.
Target.
It's a retractable hard time.
I'm partially.
I will say it.
I will say it is five more years.
That is what the rumors are.
They did not.
Exactly.
The car isn't in production yet.
There's no point.
But it's important that they're committed to the lightness and the kind of size that
it is right now.
That means that they're committed to me on the community.
They're committed to me.
I do wonder the next one.
Is it going to be all guests?
We can have it.
Yes.
So CRZ they have talked about the fact that I don't know where that kind of assuming that
they can.
The next one is to basically stick with a naturally aspirated 4-cylinder nonhybrid.
They did recognize in some of the interviews that like, does the chance of that changes
on the world stage where they have no choice, but till they, while they can, they're not
planning to go in hybrid or electric with it.
But it will be very fuel efficient, which makes sense because it is.
I think that this is cool.
It's great that somebody's sticking with it.
We make a lot of fun of Porsche for planning on an electric boxer that we think nobody will
buy.
Yeah.
Mods are doing the opposite.
It's also been interesting to see how they position the Mazda internally, right?
They view it as their halo car.
Their brand is about driving dynamics and having fun to drive cars.
And their only real fun to drive car is the Miata, but that's propelled the brand in
that direction.
Yeah.
I completely agree with all that.
And I think that that's all accurate.
And I do agree that it's nice to see them committing to it and BRZ and FRS.
And I think that any sports car these days, especially an affordable sports car that is
being committed to by an automaker to this day is like a great thing.
I was surprised to see a second gen of the BRZ and FRS.
I'm kind of surprised.
Mazda was always going to do another Miata, but we're always kind of wondering where it was
going to go.
Especially it sounds like it's going to stay true with 15-year product cycles.
Yeah.
Yeah, they're long, but it is, it's just, they're just wonderful.
The ND had a lot of good updates throughout.
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.

Next news story, this is our most important news story, the New Hyundai Palisade.
Folks, I want to tell you a little story here.
I have a video out about the New Hyundai Palisade.
You know what Hyundai told me when I went there?
I was the first person outside, 100 to see it.
To see it.
To see it.
Officially.
Now, some photos leaked on the internet like eight weeks ago, and so everybody interested
actually has already seen it.
But I was the first to officially saw it.
And so just like the camera where I was the first person to drive the camera, you're
making this up.
No, I'm dead serious because I asked him because I shot it ahead of time like the camera.
And so they said I'm the first person to see it.
So obviously I have a huge, huge emotional attachment to the car which was revealed this
morning.
An enormous personal
belovedness for the car.
You're like admiration.
You know, I don't really remember.
I had like two hours with it and they came and gone, but it looks cool.
I think it looks great.
And I will sell well.
The crush will be, what does the key tell you right look like?
Yeah, I'm very curious what tell you right looks like because Palisade has gone square.
There's a couple new things that are interesting about Palisade.
And by the way, this is an important news story beyond the fact that it was the first
person to be around it because Palisade is a really popular product.
Honestly, it's still popular and yet they're redesigning it.
Like the current.
Here's it.
5% yeah.
That's right.
It came on 18 19.
The current gen is still really popular.
They could have just continued to come more years.
They've decided to invest in it.
A couple of interesting things.
Number one, there is an off-road version called the XRT.
It has no differential lock.
It's really well said.
But there's anybody else.
The forerunner does a different kind of vehicle in what way?
Does the.
I got to find a rock.
Click rock.
No, all those trash ones don't.
But the real ones do.
No, I'm sorry.
Look, they're not trying.
They're trying to pretend.
They're not trying.
I know, but why pretend?
You know what?
So people buy it.
I love this so much.
Everybody has watched the forerunner succeed and everybody sits there going, wish we
had that.
And they say, what do you think we should do, Jim?
And Jim's answer is all terrain tires and recovery.
I know what.
And Jim's answer.
No, it doesn't.
The forerunner is still the car everybody wants.
And this and the Explorer Timberline and the Pathfinder Rock Creek and the Honda Passport
are cars that people make fun of.
I don't know.
I would just hit an event and you could see the Honda Passwords go over the like they had
like an off-road thing in a parking lot for the passport.
Did it?
Oh, they did an off-road thing in a parking lot.
Last week, we saw that they dangled it from a street.
Right.
The important, the actual important thing about New Palace that is there's going to be
a hybrid.
Yeah, which is a big deal and it's a pay extra deal.
It costs.
The power, it's a four cylinder as more power and better fuel economy.
And this is a running light.
So it's always on.
It's not a headlight.
Where the hell is it?
To the inside of it.
Wow.
It doesn't have them.
It's like a wriggly field in the 1920s.
You have to drive it during the day.
Well, what an analysis.
I'm not going to ask the question.
You're not going to answer.
No, give me.
I have all the answers.
All right.
I know this car.
Back in Honda's and NKIA's hybrids generally have a DCT.
They have a real transmission that is both appreciated for that and disliked for that
because it's a little bit odd, some of you say.
Yeah.
Do you know if this hybrid is the same setup with the DCT?
New Palace-aid hybrid transmission.
Yeah.
I know it well.
Yeah.
According to motor1.com anyway.
No, all it says is 8-speed auto.
I don't know.
I haven't driven it.
Nobody's driven the car yet is the answer to your question.
And there is an answer.
I'm sure I'm sure if you Google it.
But like I don't know how it feels and how it drives.
We'll find out.
It's going on sale like end of the summer early fall.
So I hope to go to the press launch and drive the car and have a good time.
Can I come with you?
No.
But we can go to tell you right together.
KIA is more our speed.
But I think it's cool as hell.
That's so cool.
What was your question, Ken?
Did they mention if they're going to use the lights differentiate the trims like they
did on the tell you right?
How the base was a white and the higher trim was a yellow?
I'm curious about that.
I mean, it's pretty, I filled the top trim which is now called the calligraphy and it
had white.
I think in the past some of them.
And white was the base trim and yellow was the key.
So my assumption is they're not going to do that again.
But it was interesting.
Not a lot of automakers have different lights depending on trims right for the Toyota
Lane.
The new Land Cruiser does.
And the CLA did.
Remember?
Volvo did in the X-90.
The X-90.
It was just so there.
It's really big.
Huge.
It's really big.
And when you turn on the turn signal, that whole thing becomes.
Now keep in mind.
This is the headlight.
The headlight is the credit card.
You know what it looks like?
It looks like the Michelin man's leg.
It does.
It absolutely looks like the Michelin man's leg.
You think they're getting some sponsorship money for this?
No.
If only.
No.
What?
Continentals or what?
It has like a very weak off-road tire like design more for drivers.
I want to be clear.
I'm only making fun of the off-road version which I think is a, I just, I don't like these
half-assed off-roaders.
I hate the pathfinder rock creek.
Like there's a reason that Toyota kills it because they were willing to invest the money
to actually produce the vehicle.
Did you remember the RAV-4 off-road version which was called?
Adventure.
Yeah.
And that was the head of Son-a-Locken-Def.
We were lock-en-Def.
Yeah.
And you were lock-en-Def.
No, it hadn't none of that.
No, it's stupid.
That's the point.
Toyota, the four-runner kills it and that's because they invested the money.
And then you'll anchor through the results.
All the other stupid ones are stupid.
However, the regular new policy it seems very promising.
Yeah.
And this is not the word.
All the other stupid ones are stupid.
Am I wrong?
Have you seen a pro?
No.
Have you seen a pro?
No.
But are you also familiar with that?
I'm like 5XRT, which is a great operator.
Oh, great.
Have find a rot creek.
Look at this.
They're like, oh, how can we try to convince
gullible people who are not sophisticated
that we have a car that's equivalent to the four-runner?
Am I wrong?
That's what this is.
No, but it's no worse than the Explorer Timberline.
I just said that.
Yeah, pull up the Explorer Timberline any one of them.
There's one part down the street for me with Montana plates,
which I find they must be from Montana.
Yeah, dude, if they got the Timberline they are.
Look at this.
It's got red trim.
So you know, it's a really, really effective off-roader.
Trash.
Meanwhile, they all sit and look at Toyota going,
why are they selling so much?
How could it be?
To be fair, Ford also has a Bronco.
Why doesn't it work?
Yeah, Ford did it right, too.
Ford did it right, too.
Look at him credit.
All right, give us the next news.
For speaking of off-roader, it's so cool.
Speak of off-roaders and poorly designed things.
No.
No, no.
The poor design is the name.
No.
Yeah.
The new version of the G-Wagon, which is a great vehicle,
nobody would ever guess this name.
It is called the G-Wagon stronger than the 1980s edition.
The Germans just cannot help themselves.
They don't understand.
The Germans, the problem with Germans is they understand
what makes like a thing cool, but they don't understand
like as a whole, but they don't understand like little,
they kind of like don't get it.
So like I drove that 911 ST with the icons of cool puddle white.
Like you open the door and it said icons of cool,
which was kind of the most pathetic thing I've ever seen in my life.
Yeah.
And here is the stronger than 1980s edition.
Can you pull up the dashboard please?
Yes.
You know what I'm talking about?
Oh God.
Have you seen this?
Yeah.
I can't miss it.
I can't miss it.
So it's a retro vehicle.
It's a new G-Wagon, but the design is intended to look like.
Which way?
Looks great.
The color is excellent.
The wheels are excellent.
Visits on the dashboard.
It literally, have you seen this?
Yeah.
It literally is printed stronger than the 1980s.
What does that mean?
What does it mean?
Economically, we're stronger than the 1980s.
I hope.
Like socially, we're stronger than the 1980s.
What Jeremy's united since the 1980s, because they were divided then, since the wall fell
in the 90s.
It's stronger now.
It's stronger now.
That's right.
Look at it.
It's just there.
It is flexing.
I think it's coolest hell that they've done.
What it basically is is like a new G-Wagon, but it's got like black trim all around.
It's got the orange turn signals.
Apparently it's going to have go back.
Are they actually going to do a cloth tire cover?
How cool is that?
It looks like an 80s G-Wagon.
It's just that the name, it even has the old Mercedes-Benz logo on the tailgate.
Oh, tailgate.
It's just that the name's stronger than the 1980s.
Thankfully, it doesn't appear on the outside of the car.
I love this, though.
That's a great question.
I love the problem.
The only issue with this is the name.
I love the rest of it.
I love the wheel choices.
I love the bligh.
I am curious if the G-Wagon buyer is interested in a retro version.
No, the more.
Right?
The G-Wagon enthusiasts would like this once like a base diesel slower than a rock rolling
down a hill.
Like that's what they want.
That's what they want.
I mean, a base G is now 130.
And the same time people bought the Land Cruiser Heritage last year, the 22 Land Cruiser,
because they actually wanted to go off road.
Yeah.
They wanted to look cool.
There's a bigger Land Cruiser enthusiast community, though, than a new G-Wagon
enthusiasm.
I think there are some people who want a G-Wagon, don't want it to look like a G-Wagon.
That is, they don't want the ostentatious emphasis of that.
Yeah.
The producers are honestly.
Yeah.
I think it's cool as hell.
I would love to get one.
As a person who has an old G-G and is into this kind of stuff, I would never spend
new G-Money.
It's just not going to happen.
I'm like, I can imagine these holding their value incredibly well.
Yeah.
Especially the stronger than any edition.
Yeah.
No, they probably will.
I think it's cool that they're doing it.
Just in touch.
Isn't this the old wheel?
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's exactly what that is.
Yeah.
Cool.
So cool.
I agree.
I was an enthusiast community.
Let's figure out something better to call it.
Yeah.
I don't know what it wants to say.
I mean, it's a lot to say.
Stronger than the 198s and just bear it.
They'll call it the hair of the statement.
They'll call it the hair of the statement.
The statement.
They have had other things.
No, remember when you open the door, a puddle lamp comes out.
Do you remember it says, it says G, stronger than time.
They'll say that, but I think it was a G-Wagon stronger than diamond.
Yes.
All right, give us a story.
Give us a story.
Oh, something.
A G-command tree.
A G-command tree.
A G-command tree.
This is the slate pickup that has been spied.
Yikes.
Here's what we know about slate.
Yeah.
It's a new car company named after a online magazine.
And a rock.
And a rock.
But I agree.
It is apparently funded heavily by Jeff Bezos and includes a lot of their top employees or
people that came from Amazon.
And they're going to be revealing next week.
10 out of a pair, according to the news reports, a electric compact pickup truck that will
cost less than $25,000.
That is all we know.
It is a new car company launching a small compact affordable pickup truck.
I'm sorry.
We'll learn more next week.
Yeah.
Can you get it on Amazon Prime?
It will be interesting if they can actually pull off a like affordable, regular size.
This is hard to do.
Everybody on the comments is always like every an affordable vehicle that's simple
and basic.
It's hard.
There's a lot of regulations.
That's not actually where most consumer tastes really objectively is.
But let's see.
There's not also not a lot of profit margin, honestly, affordable $25.
I could imagine you going after fleets, especially with that and some other, maybe some consumers,
but a lot of fleets.
Is there another company that also has a small pickup truck that's in this place?
There's all sorts of startups that have tried to claim they're going to make an affordable
little pickup truck.
And none of them have really ever come to market.
What are the cheapest electric trucks that have come to market, right?
Like Rivian, Tesla, Cybertruck, Hummer, EV, all really expensive.
Yeah.
I mean, it's tough to do.
It's really, really tough to do.
But this one has Bezos behind it.
Maybe it'll go big if you had it.
If you've been watching my videos for a long time, you'll remember I used to take my cars
to CarMax to see what they'd offer me as a trade-in value.
These videos were fun and popular as they would often give me a wildly inaccurate number
for the cars.
Submit your cool car to cars and bids in just a few minutes and you'll be connected with
an auction manager from my team who will help your car go live on cars and bids where you'll
get way more money for your car than trading it into a big box dealer.
Look at how much these cars sold for on cars and bids compared to their trading value.
Here's a trade-in offer and this is the cars and bids result.
Here's a trade-in value end, the cars and bids result and this was a trade-in value
and this was the cars and bids result.
Get started now and sell your car on carsandbids.com.
All right.
Along with you start.
There's another good one.
It goes based along with Jo King.
Jo King.
Ah, ID buzz.
This is an ID buzz.
You can buy it from the factory two-tone.
Yeah.
Like this one is.
But early on in production, they had a lot of trouble doing this, like for a bunch of
production constraint reasons, they could only make single-color ID buzzes.
It has come out this week that those aren't really selling, consumers want two-tone.
Yeah.
So Volkswagen on those trucks was offering about a $3,000 rap job, right, where they would
get it wrapped for the customer to do it.
They have now this week said that they will split the cost of that with dealerships so
that dealerships can discount to $1,500 and Volkswagen will chip in $1,500 to get it wrapped.
It's paying to wrap the ID buzz so it'll sell, which honestly is a pretty good idea because
I got to be honest.
I haven't seen a full color one yet.
The two-tone.
I wouldn't even consider one that is a two-tone.
It looks so cool.
Also, the single colors are boring, it's like gray and silver.
I've seen maybe four ID buzzes, five on the road.
They're all the two-tone.
They all look absolutely wonderful.
And all the other ones are weighted, languishing on dealer lots.
Yeah.
Till this.
Now, of course, it becomes a question.
Like, if you're going to buy a used one, do you want the one that's wrapped?
No, you probably want the one that was painted like that from the factory.
Yeah.
But there's a lot of cars that are wrapped now.
Like, you know, there's a lot of cars that people are wrapping a lot of, I mean, it's
not very common anymore.
Every single cyber truck we see is wrapped.
Yeah.
And a lot of model-wise, and X's and I, all the other things.
Yeah.
And just in general.
And just in general.
And just in general.
It's like become pretty common.
But to do it from the manufacturer is pretty cool.
They're splitting the cost.
It's just such a, they need to sell the white, the black, the silver one.
What do you do it?
For Ted's other one.
Yeah.
You have to assume that this is going to be informative of future production.
Yeah.
And that they probably either won't make any single-colored ID buzzers go forward, or they'll
make a much, much smaller mix of them.
Right.
It does sound like that was their plan, but like for early ones, just for production
constraints, reasons weren't this, but I'm going to give you my ID buzz take.
Please.
I think this is the coolest car on sale, and yet, I don't think it's going to sell.
It's a shame that I agree with that.
I wish they had done the short wheelbase.
I think it was a massive mistake not doing it.
Well, no, but it would have been able to discount the price.
Yeah.
And honestly, I think people would have bought it because I think they missed misunderstood
who was going to be the buyer for this car.
I think they thought it would be family looking for like an SUV or minivan alternative.
And I think really it's like older, empty nesters who want something cool and electric.
This is the only cool electric car on sale.
And so it's sort of the Rimmack Naveira, am I right?
Man, the McMurtry.
And the McMurtry.
Right.
McMurtry, Rimmack Naveira.
This.
ID buzz.
It's going to be on a shorty that cost 47.
That would have been really appealing.
Instead, there's a longing that cost 75 and probably more with turf.
Yeah.
It's much less appealing.
And I think that they messed it up.
There's still time to get it right, folks.
You can still do this.
But I don't think it's going to sell.
And I just love that it needs to be two times.
That's true.
I mean, we live in the land of new EVs.
We see them all the time.
And I just have not seen them as a couple, but not that many.
I've seen a few.
I think they're really cool.
We've been 47 grand shorties.
We'd be having a conversation about.
Felipe might be thinking about picking up one used in three years.
That would be cool.
That would be cool.
That would be cool.
That would be cool.
But yeah, they have to be two-toned.
That would be two-toned to sell.
It makes sense.
It really does.
But I've never seen somebody like be that, coming like Volkswagen, be scrappy.
This is what a startup would do to pretend that they were never that color.
No, I remember it, Portia.
You try to get cars over the line.
You're trying to get cars over the line.
No matter how legit you seem, you're just trying to get cars over the line.
At the end of the day, I remember one time I drove by the Jaguar dealer in Newport Beach
during the heart of Jaguar's low period, which has been 2009 to about now.
And we're still going down.
And I drove by and they had brand new Jags out front with, like, neon writing on the windshield.
And I'm like, what the hell?
But at the end of the day, you're just trying to sell cars, like no matter what you are.
You're just trying to move your neck.
We all.
All right.
Is that no, there's still one more news story.
Mitsubishi, folks, this is the worst tariff news yet.
Felipe, steal yourself because this is tough.
All these brands are not sending cars to the U.S. right now because of the tariffs.
Yep.
Mitsubishi is one of them.
No shipments.
No shipments.
You will not be able to get a mighty max.
Why?
I couldn't go.
That was a pick up from the side.
The calendar is a desirable.
The out and actually should be it.
They sold 13 of these last year and dammit, they're only going to sell nine of them this
year.
The actual sadness is that now that Audi has revealed the Audi A6, we won't get that
either.
We're looking at the A6.
Well, no, no, not right now.
They're not importing cars.
They're not importing cars.
And right now Mitsubishi has paused now.
What do you think?
What are we going to do?
This is their press photo in like the winter in Pittsburgh.
Yeah.
And that is like the car will end up.
That's right.
Outside, like there's a strip wall in this community and this is these are like the townhouses
around it.
But it's exactly this.
You know what the nice thing though about being Mitsubishi and taking press photos is no
one's going to like spy photo.
You would sell it to the automake or to the magazine.
You know what I mean?
Like if Porsche did this, they'd be like spy photos and then they'd be on endless tomorrow
right?
Yeah.
But when it's Mitsubishi, you can just leave it there.
You can go have lunch.
There's some person's table.
People are upstairs.
Somebody's like some guy's got a crossover outside.
I think they drove around until they found the most closed lines they could.
And they needed three parking spots in a row so they could get a shot without any.
Anyway, Mitsubishi not going to be shipping cars to yesterday.
You can't buy one of these right now.
Whatever it is.
It's a Mitsubishi Alwander PHEV.
I know what it is.
But the only reason I know that is because I've been to Amsterdam and it's the most popular car
in the world.
Yeah.
It's true.
For our audio listeners, this is part in front of a set of townhouses.
We have to describe this simply now.
People get the picture.
All right.
Is that our last news story?
My God.
Thank God.
But there are a lot of news stories.
We've got to talk cars.
I have two very important talk cars.
Yes, please.
Every talk car segment today is about Lincoln.
Oh my God.
That's true.
Today's talk cars is brought to you by Lincoln.
No.
Only if Lincoln's.
We make cars.
So does Lincoln have a slogan?
I haven't seen any cars.
Well, I haven't seen a Lincoln advertisement in years.
Do they sell any cars?
No, they don't.
They don't have any of that.
Vote.
Vote yourself a farm and horses.
Wait a minute.
That's Abe Lincoln.
That's Abraham Lincoln.
That's the president.
I'm screwed this up.
Anyway, this is.
This is.
This is the statements brought to you by Lincoln.
Although some of these stories are negative.
Uh, I want to start with the navigate.
They didn't fully.
They don't know that when they saw it.
I want to start.
I want to start with the navigator split tailgate.
All right.
I went to Lincoln.
Navigator press launch.
And I can't say anything.
I'm going to start.
I'm going to start with the navigator split tailgate.
All right.
I went to Lincoln.
Navigator press launch.
I can't say anything because it's under embargo.
I can't say a word about how to drove.
Yeah.
It's under embargo.
For a week.
I tailgate.
I can't talk about the driving experience.
Right.
So you won't not.
Was it like.
Is it like you'd expect a big luxury SUV to be?
I can't answer it.
However, I can tell you that this is out there already.
The new navigator has a split tailgate.
And they were showing me the new navigators split tailgate.
And the fellow who was responsible for the engineering of it.
He said, I actually used your videos praising the split tailgates of their cars to help sell this to management.
And they didn't make you the first person to drive it outside of Lincoln employees.
Oh, they should have.
That's so rude of them.
Little did they know.
That's what I really liked the car.
They just copied the homework.
They didn't bother to carry the candy.
This is a big deal.
I have finally had influence in the in the in the car community.
Finally.
Now, I'm sure the fact that the Range Rover has a split tailgate also played some role.
Or the X-5 or any other X-7.
All those other SUVs have abandoned it.
The X-5 got rid of it.
The Land Cruiser got rid of it.
The X-5 doesn't still have a split tailgate.
Maybe the new one does again.
Does it?
Yes.
Back in the day it did, but they got rid of it.
It does.
The point is, the point is, I helped influence.
And so if you buy a Lincoln navigator and I'm not sure if you should or should,
I can't talk about it yet.
But if you buy a Lincoln navigator,
and if you ever see me and you want me to sign your split tailgate,
if you buy a Lincoln navigator,
if you buy a Lincoln navigator and you're in the Southern California region,
carry a Sharpie with you in case you see me.
Did you know that at Chevron,

What would you do if somebody asked you to?
Where would you sign it?
I would do it.
You know, speaking of people signing cars, here's another Lincoln story.
I got on my 4GT, the designer, signed it, Camilla Parto.
And this happened because he was at cars and coffee,
and he had a sharpie with him, and he was signing everybody's cars.
And he just went down the line and signed mine.
I didn't really ask him to, you know, he just did.
So you just had the engine cover open?
We all had our engine covers open.
He was signing cars, he did it.
Like I never said, hey, will you sign it?
Now, at the time, I was like, I'm going to just erase this.
Over time, I've come to the sign I actually liked the signature on there.
But that's, but just in case you just 4GT owners make sure you close your
it so it doesn't get the designer's car.
Parto is coming by.
Yeah.
And he's got a sharpie in his hand.
He's signing.
We're not asked.
He signed a couple of Acura's that they will you commit right now to not
carrying around a sharpie and signing the rear tailgate of the
connector.
So you see parked.
No, I'm not going to do it unless I'm asked.
Okay.
Now I might do some rental cars.
You didn't do that.
Anyway, I can't talk about the driving experience, but it drives like a.
Okay.
The next thing I want to talk about.
Can it go to the community tab?
This is unbelievable.
Go to the community tab and pull up the questions and the quit.
No, this one.
And scroll down a little bit.
Oh my god.
I can't comment.
Okay, scroll down a little.
Keep going.
Keep going.
Keep going.
Look at this.
Last week on the pod.
How there should be a Lincoln version of the Bronco and some.
Some.
Some.
Um.
Well.
Creative.
I used AI.
Use AI.
Yeah.
For into AI.
Yeah.
Hey.
What would a Lincoln Bronco look like?
And you know what?
Let's look at pretty good.
That's a little weird.
I've seen a lot of.
Because a bunch of people have done this.
Some look more bronquy.
This one looks more QX 80.
Do you admit now?
Because you guys were both skeptical last week.
Although I think I eventually got him to come.
Yeah.
Do you admit now that they should do this?
The Lincoln G wagon.
I think they need to execute it better than this.
What do you mean better than this?
How can you get better than this?
It just looks wrong.
What do you think?
Go to the other picture.
Go to the other picture.
That looks pretty good.
It even has a split tailgate.
It's like the Lincoln navigator, which drives like a.
Well, you get a claim that you.
You informed the work.
It's so much the even AI knew to do this.
Like telling you because of you.
Come on.
This is cool.
Yep.
This is actually pretty.
I think this was cool when I was talking about it last week.
Now I think it's even cooler.
I should do that.
This is not my favorite version because the headlights are two Toyota 200 series.
There was another version.
But there are others.
Did that.
That was silver.
It wasn't in the.
It was a regular.
A bunch around that.
Oh, okay.
We have really kind of.
Click on this car.
Yeah.
This car.
I don't know.
It was somewhere.
Somebody put there.
That looks.
That.
Tell me they shouldn't make that.
No, they should.
They should.
That's not half bad.
Right.
Mercedes has the G wagon.
Lincoln shows up with the Bronco.
And someone on the YouTube comments said they should call it the Lincoln monument.
Oh, that's brilliant.
Very funny and brilliant.
They show the one detail that missing are the numbers.
Like to enter you so you can unlock the door.
Although those are now.
Those are now blacked out and forwards unless you walk up and tap it.
And then they like.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I love it.
That's great.
Lincoln, please.
I hope you recognize Doug for being correct.
Call it the Lincoln.
And then invite him to sign every single one.
Invite him to the fashion line.
And you can just sign that.
I'll sign them all like Camilla.
This is legit.
Yep.
This is absolutely legit.
Much more legit than the Lincoln navigator, which drives like a.
You're wondering how it drives.
Well, you'll find out next week only if you like and subscribe.
Click the bell to do something.
Okay.
The last story.
I can't believe it's all related to Lincoln.
We're never going to talk about Lincoln again on this podcast ever because there's never.
What about the continental coach door?
Yeah.
We can talk about the continental captor, but not for months because we've used up our.
They sponsored this segment.
And Lincoln's gotten some time.
And we're so thankful for their sponsorship that we're now going to reveal that the Lincoln
Nautilus American SUV is built in China.
I go to the Lincoln gasp.
I go to the Lincoln thing.
Yeah.
The navigator launch.
And I'm like, yeah, really?
They're like, oh, you've probably seen the features in the Nautilus.
And I was like, I love the Nautilus.
And there was like a silence.
And now I know why.
The reason there's a new story that they have.
It's not a new story.
We're talking about cars.
The reason we're talking about this car is that they are still going to import them.
No way.
This way.
It tells you a lot about how many Nautiluses they sell.
Not a lie?
They sell.
But the reason it's actually interesting is that.
They also sell a lot in the Chinese market.
And so for them, it remains.
It makes sense to keep building it there because they sell most of them to the Chinese market.
Interesting.
You're kidding.
Nope.
So real life fact.
This is built in, by the way, I legitimately like the Lincoln Nautilus.
That's a great car.
It's a great car.
I love it.
Objectively.
I think it looks good inside and out.
Someone commented it said the Nautilus must be terrible.
It's based on the Ford Edge.
You're thinking of the original Nautilus, which wasn't great.
The new Nautilus.
There's no more Ford Edge.
The new Nautilus is an excellent SUV.
Of course, now that I know that it's Chinese, I'm not so sure.
No, I'm kidding.
The generally what they've said is that they'll be 125% tariff in the US.
I'm sure we'll impact pricing in some way, but they've basically said they will keep importing it.
But the brand is not too impacted because they sell most of them in China.
Yeah.
That makes sense.
A little bit.
Yeah.
It's surprising to me that they, oh, there is a new Ford Edge in China.
Oh.
Lincoln and honestly catalog of this one, but especially, sorry, Lincoln and Buick, rather,
fundamentally are American brands that are sold in China.
Why doesn't Lincoln get bigger in the US?
I've given them a road map.
Can I make the Bronco?
Yeah.
The Lincoln, by the way, the navigator, by the way, built in the US.
I think it's not built in China.
That's all, that's all.
They don't build the Lincoln navigator in China?
No.
Oh, what?
They say they build the other Lincoln models they sell in China in China.
What are their great fast facts do you have for us, Filippo?
Well, here's some driving impression of the Lincoln navigator.
Okay, that was the talk car segment brought to you by Lincoln.
The 32 valve intake V8, one of the great power trains of our time.
That engine, that was the engine in the navigator, the original navigator.
That engine, 5.4 liters, it made all of 163 horsepower and it got nine miles per gallon while doing it.
It was both inefficient and had no power.
And it didn't.
Lincoln are sponsors.
Right.
Now, we've done source Lincoln talk.
We're even designing their cars at this point.
It's pretty intense.
Not all this thing is interesting.
Okay.
The most thing is interesting.
Bring on the market report, Filippo.
What do you have?
All right, let's talk about another manufacturer that builds some cars in China, namely the S90,
which is no longer being imported to the US.
Yeah, they don't sell that anymore.
Did they sell it in China still?
Yeah.
But, no, I wasn't actually going to talk about it.
Although, I'm surprised we're going to put in the subtitle because it says that the Chinese build car.
That would be put.
Why?
All right.
And then what I was talking about was Volvo V60.
By the way, you know, this is the second gen S90.
Yes.
Damn.
You didn't know.
All right.
The V60.
Okay.
The V60.
First, I want to talk about the Rebel Blue one.
We sold a Rebel Blue V60 T6 Polestar, which is the car you want.
If you're wagon enthusiasts.
It's also a 2015, but not 2015 and a half, which means that it has a turbocharger.
This is a six cylinder.
This is what you want in life.
Period.
We set a recent auction record of $51,000.
Solid.
Which is a lot of money for this car, but it's so worth it.
How many miles on this?
22.
I mean, this is it.
This is the nicest one.
We featured it for a reason.
If you're looking for the ultimate Volvo wagon.
Is that Rebel Blue?
Yep.
Polestar.
Six cylinder.
Although, I think the four is also a great power.
It is.
Which came later.
But the six cylinder.
With low miles.
With no mile.
The one you want.
There may not be others.
This is the highest result.
What was the sticker?
I think I looked 50-something, 60-something.
Do we have one?
Yeah, 10 years ago.
That's some good depreciation.
61 to 25.
The car less 10 grand in depreciation in 10 years.
But it's interesting.
The high performance V60s in general have held their value really well.
Not just this giant.
If you go back, a page.
Yeah.
Okay.
We saw the 23 V60 research for 62.
This one had some miles.
And sticker was 70-ish.
Yep.
We also had a bunch of 71.
I think they put something like 20,000 miles on it.
And sold it for 60-something.
Yeah.
Like, all of the ones that we're selling, especially the Polestar engineered ones,
have held their value so well.
Yeah.
Because it's a plug and hybrid wagon that has oil and stampers for some reason.
They love that.
They love that.
And I, first of all, I'm disappointed because I want to buy one cheaply,
and I will never be able to.
No.
But you can own it cheaply.
It would cost you next to nothing to own.
And you go and sell it.
It's not a flippo operand.
I know.
It's not a cost of money.
Flippo would rather buy something for 14 grand and lose the whole 14 grand
than buy something for 50 and so on for 50.
He would literally rather lose the 14 grand.
I don't want to buy himself for the same thing.
Something nice.
I like owning not nice things.
But these have held their value so well.
I agree.
Go back to the page.
There's other ones too.
25 grand for 2020 where the sticker was 50 something.
It's incredible.
This one's for 54 grand.
They've just, if you want to, these will just continue to hold their value.
Yeah.
It's a V6 older V6.
Which is interesting because Volvo wagons as they get used in general
are not value holders.
Like a V70, a 15 year old V70 regular, that's not a car that's valuable.
But the specific versions have retained very, very well.
The cross countries are not retaining.
No.
Which is odd because by the way,
this go back, this and this black and blue,
the cross country and the Polestar, same car fundamentally.
Different engine?
Yeah.
There are differences.
But you get behind the wheel, the interior, the E350 and E63 AMG, same car.
You think that's the difference here?
I mean, this is not an E63 AMG at the end of the day.
This doesn't have 500 horsepower.
What does it have?
Pull up.
Like three something.
Yeah.
Compared to the E350.
Compared to the E350.
Compared to the E450.
My E450 has more power than the T6 Polestar.
My point is just like the E450 and that are worth about the same.
Really?
You think my car still worth 51?
Yeah.
I'll sell it to you today for 47.
No.
Come on.
Fresh paint.
Fresh paint.
That definitely adds value.
It's new.
The paint is new.
Canon.
Yep.
That's not a good thing.
I agree with you.
Wow.
For the special ones.
It is quite, quite, quite interesting.
Very interesting.
Speaking of things that are holding their value, here's an amazing one for you.
Pull up the GSF.
We sold the GSF yesterday.
GSF spate.
Okay.
56 grand.
Click on it.
This is a 16 with 20,000 miles, I think, at hand?
Yeah, I'm sorry.
50,000 miles.
16 with 50,000 miles sold for 56.
And it got me thinking.
My God.
An M5 from 2015 is worth 12.
What is an M5 worth?
So I put it in.
Take a look at...
Type in 2016, M5.
Your mind's about to be blown.
Yep.
So keep in mind, the Lexus with 50,000 miles sold for 56.
Okay.
The M5s are selling between 25 and 35.
Click on that one.
That one sold for 46.
Okay.
This is a competition with 15,000 fewer miles.
And even then, it got $10,000 less.
Wow.
And you've got to assume the sticker was probably 20 grand higher on the BMW.
Yeah.
Maybe 30 grand higher.
Of course, it does have like an extra 100 something worth that or two.
Think about that.
It is a...
I know the market values reliability more, but damn.
This is dark.
But maybe really.
Real reliability.
The M5 is the better car.
But like, when you have to start paying for stuff yourself, the Lexus is the better car.
Yeah.
That is really interesting.
And they're all automatic.
I mean, no, there was a...
Yeah.
This is DCT versus I'm guessing.
Yeah. These are torque converter rados.
This whole car also has only 467 horsepower.
What is the M5?
575.
This was 575.
Because of the competition.
Yeah.
So another 100 horsepower.
And the market is like, nah, we're good, actually.
We'd much rather pay up for less power, a slower shifting car, slower handling and steering.
It's slow, but it's not at the shop.
It's not at the shop.
There is also a quantity difference.
There's not that many GSFs out there.
That's true.
It's rare.
Because nobody was willing to pay it.
New when you could buy it.
It's just too expensive new.
The sticker on this was deep into the 80s.
And...
It's hard to say.
What a car VSF pretty negatively and got a lot of hate about that when I reviewed it.
I still maintain it was not a particularly desirable car at an $85,000 valuation.
Where the GSF and the ISF and the RCF become really desirable is on the use market.
Yeah.
And that's proven by the fact that people pay up.
The ISF is desirable.
Is the GSF...
Have the GSF become desirable?
Yeah, of course.
V8.
What do you mean?
It's desirable for the same reason.
You can have an FADM4 except you don't have to break down.
Yeah.
And FADM4 is $24,000.
Yeah, that's a big price difference.
All these cars.
Yeah.
The market loves reliability.
And speaking of that, pull up the DB9.
Yes.
So...
Yeah, that's it.
This result...
Now, ask Martin DB9's are not particularly expensive cars to buy into, but as you'll...
Everybody is very afraid of the maintenance.
It's appreciated.
I did not realize quite how far they've recently depreciated.
We sold this one with 38,400 miles, no accidents on the car.
Nicely presented.
It looks nice.
Colorful specification.
It's automatic, admittedly, and an early one.
But it sold for $26,000.
Wow.
$26,000.
$26,000.
That's a big price difference.
Yeah.
That's a big price difference.
Yeah.
That's a big price difference.
That's a big price difference.
That's a big price difference.
Wow.
$26,000.
And you have a V12 NA gauges car.
King County design.
Aston Martin.
Like, that is astonishing to me.
I get why?
But it is astonishing on the last.
Do some of the Ford Fusion impacted Aston Martin price?
No.
No.
That's something you would say.
No.
Dude, I am astonished.
26 is a pretty incredible deal.
This is a V12 car.
It's appealing.
The advantages don't go for 26.
So the DB9's are cheaper than the advantages?
I think it's so many advantages are manuals.
That's advantageous.
But do you go for 20?
And also the difference do.
Yeah.
The advantage is known for being reliable.
The cat's out of the bag that it is a pretty reliable car.
This is too.
But this has stuff some stuff.
And it is hard to serve it.
Like, if you have to do, like,
it's not a spark plugs and coils.
It's a real pain in the ass.
We get them submitted with miles.
Yes, correct.
But they haven't had that many miles.
They come in with miles.
And the transmission is not automatic.
It's a ZFOT of Ag.
It's not the single plate clutch that's in the vanquist.
Is it not?
It's got a torque converter?
That was one of the big changes I know I'm correct about this.
You can throw your brow all you win.
But I'm right.
It is a torque converter automatic.
You get either a torque converter automatic
or a 60 manual transmission in this.
But the vanquist before it had the clunky single plate clutch.
And I think, like, you, a lot of people are confused about that
not realizing it.
I think you'd probably write.
And the fact that it's a ZF.
Is it reliable?
Yeah, it's a ZF.
Is it reliable?
Filippo, you should have bought this car.
Ken, why don't you on it right now?
Well, I saw this.
I was like, damn.
It's also beautiful.
It's a gorgeous car.
It's absolutely beautiful.
It's back of your hand pretty.
And it's a V12.
Yeah, it is.
You're not driving this?
I know.
I should be.
Nick had to spend 200 for a V12.
Look at you.
You could be driving around 26th grade.
Yeah, it could be all in around.
Yeah, you pull that fuse.
You pull that fuse.
You put some straight pipes on this.
You Montana at Bull.
I think it does.
I know what you're talking about.
I think it does have the same fuse thing.
That's impressive.
Plus look at that.
Look at that.
Look at that.
No, look at this.
Look at this.
That's the higher quality wood than anything.
Filippo has ever or will ever.
Of course.
Of course, I'm sure the screen doesn't pop up.
No, but that's kind of a benefit now.
I'd rather not.
I don't need to look at a Garmin 2003.
I never liked this one.
This looks like it's previously been on fire or washed with acid.
I like it.
No, it looks good.
It looks good.
I mean, look at this is a nice one.
It's like this in tears, not in bad condition.
No.
I just don't understand what the hell happened here that it, like.
Because again, it's a clean car.
Well, it's not just this car.
Not modified.
But it isn't just this car.
That's true.
Like there.
I mean, this one.
You know, five with only 9,000 miles and only still 36.
Six.
That just what these are.
Which is incredible.
You're right.
Vanages are more valuable.
A 9,000 mile or even a 36,000 mile advantage would be more valuable.
But this is what it has more value.
Like it gives more.
Here's another one.
There's a 30 grand.
I mean, that's what they go for.
Yeah.
I always thought DB7s were in this pressure.
It's crazy.
DB9s are considering that acid Martin is still largely using his design language.
And that it's a V12.
And that it's a fairly modern car.
And that you can flex like crazy.
DB7 you can't flex.
Crazy.
How are they dynamically?
Great.
You know what?
It actually drives way lighter than you're expecting.
I was stunned at that.
I was the last time you drove it.
I drove a garage like a year ago.
And it was great.
But the first gen DB9 I drove one that was still on the site.
And I was stunned at how stiff the chassis itself is.
The suspension is not super.
But the chassis is like.
You could tell what they were going to the DBS.
Like, you could tell that was the direction.
And they ended up using for racing, of course, with the DBA.
No, that's not right.
DB12 something.
There's always a car they made with it, which sounds epic.
Do you know what else you could do?
It's a lovely car.
You could badge it, Varage, and you could flex on most people.
And you could badge it, DBS, and flex on him.
You could tell me about a DBS.
He wouldn't know.
Don't you agree?
He wouldn't know.
I would so not know that it wouldn't be a flex.
Right, it wouldn't be a flex.
You'd be like, OK, he's got a DBE something.
But I think that is truly one of the great bargains.
What does this be most?
This one's sold a long time ago.
But these pictures stand out.
I live in my brain, rent-free.
Is that dark red or black?
It's not red.
I think it's dark blue or it's not.
It's black.
Nice looking car.
Jersey.
OK.
If you bought that car, email us, because Ken and we'll buy it for him.
The 26th one, New Hampshire.
No, I'm not.
OK.
We got to move on to questions.
Questions, questions, questions.
Questions are sponsored by the Cadillac.
Here's what happened.
Lincoln called.
They said, hey, we want a sponsor segment.
I said, we'll give you talk cars.
Cadillac, I said, kid, they called.
I said, hey, guess what?
You can sponsor questions.
And they went, it's even more valuable.
They went, who is this?
Who is this?
How do you get this number?
That's exactly what happened, actually.
Ken likes to put the north of my emails.
The other brands don't.
OK.
They won't give you an optic.
They won't give me an S-K-I-Q.
And I'm just going to have to go to a bar one from a dealer,
which I don't want either.
They're around.
They're around.
What about the optic?
I don't know what that is.
And honestly, I bet they don't either.
OK.
Just real car days out.
I don't know about that.
I'll fact check that later.
OK.
First question.
First question.
First question.
From It's a Me Calvo.
Nice.
OK.
He says, hi, Doug.
I would like to know where the Lamborghini PC's
Sim racing seat that Linus Tech Tips made for you is.
Has it arrived?
Did you try it out?
How has it been?
First off, it was tariffed.
I mean, it's coming from Canada.
Linus built that he's Canadian to my knowledge.
He's looked Canadian.
And so it was tariffed.
At the normal 3% duty.
Didn't we sneak it in during one of those windows ware?
No, it arrived here a month before the tariff was around.
No, that's not true.
It arrived here like a couple of days before.
They had been announced and then we got it in and then they went into effect
and then they went on into effect.
It was through the port.
The point is it's here and we built it.
However, there have been a couple of problems.
I was there when Linus put it together.
And he is incredibly skilled at tech things and tech tips.
And you are...
How do I put this?
Don't look at me.
This thing arrives.
This thing arrives and our producer Sean, who's obsessed with this sort of thing,
he goes at the box.
It was in a crate.
He goes at it with a drill.
What?
It puts the thing together.
He went at it.
All right.
It puts the thing together in five minutes and breaks half of it.
Okay.
Half of it is broken.
He broke the shifter.
He broke the butt kickers.
Don't work anymore.
Well, that's...
Sean.
They're not...
They're not assembled yet.
Kevin and I have not talked about that.
He did break the shifter.
That part is true.
We'll fix it.
At one point yesterday we came in and he said the brake pedal doesn't work.
It's operating like an on-off switch.
Yes.
It will either go on or off.
There's no like force to it.
He had the calibration set.
Right.
He had it set where fully pushed in was like just registering.
He didn't like move this light.
The point is...
The point is...
The point is it's here, but it's been put together by a gorilla.
It's as if you had...
If you called it a rangatant and you said to him, hey, will you put this together?
And he was like, oh!
And then he just kind of put...
That's what happened.
That sounds right.
Oh no, it was put together while some substance...
It's like some whiskey was consumed to be able to put it together.
And then...
Oh god.
We have to...
Anyway, the point is...
All drives are automatic.
But I will tell you this.
It's here and...
And now on.
Anyone who visits our office will be setting a lap time.
Yep.
In the Lamborghini Kuntosh at Laguna's Seiko.
Which somebody has already done.
We've had our first one and we're going to have hundreds and hundreds and hundreds.
We're going to have...
We'll have to do it like the top gear metal thing.
We're going to put like nothing on there.
It's like, where do you think you've come?
Yeah.
We'll have to do that.
So, yeah, it is here.
I only mentioned that question as first and foremost because we've gotten it quite a few times.
Okay.
Next question.
And this is a good one.
Don't look.
Don't steal the questions if you're by.
Don't listen to me read.
I'm going to close my computer.
Next question from BMW E82 LCI.
Could you rate every BMW 1 series generation?
Yup.
E82.
Everything else.
That's all.
That's all.
Okay.
There's only one series.
It is, I think.
Yeah.
I don't even think...
You're up.
There was another one.
I think that was the only...
That was the first one.
It took a while for it to come to the US.
It was to relieve...
Like, there was a pre-else...
Yeah, there was.
Yeah, that's it.
But don't you agree there was no other?
Yep.
In the two series.
It went swiftly to the two series and that was the end of that.
And we've had two of those.
Okay.
The next question.
The next question is a good question.
And it comes to us from Vdancer.
Oh, jeez.
And the question is...
Why doesn't Suzuki sell the chimney in the US?
On paper it has everything that's all the rage right now.
It's off road capable for a road drive boxy shape.
He hates boxy.
I love boxy.
He hates the outback.
Also, my wife would insist if we buy a chimney tomorrow
if one came to the US.
Of course, do you have a dream one?
No.
Yeah.
That wouldn't last long.
Of course, due to tariffs, this isn't practical anymore anymore.
But in theory, shouldn't this car be a sales hit?
Here's what I think.
I have a theory.
Can I give my theory afterwards?
Yeah.
Here's my theory.
Okay.
They tried to sell cars in the US.
Suzuki did.
From...
God, I don't remember.
At least the mid-'90s, late-'80s mid-'90s,
the sidekick in the esteem and the Swift.
Until 2017 when the Kizashi went away.
They tried.
And we didn't want any of their stuff.
Yep.
And I think they were so up XL7, Grand Vitar,
Grand Vitar did okay.
But we didn't want any of their cars, right?
And I think they were so upset that they made the chimney good
as a spiked car.
Oh.
They said to the US.
So he's asking, why don't they sell it here?
I don't think they want to sell it here.
I think they want Americans to realize that we messed up
and that we did this to ourselves.
Especially us in San Diego.
We'll receive them.
We'll see that all the time.
We'll see that all the time.
And they just tease us as like, you can't just look us and go.
Not for you.
You did this.
You screwed up.
The new Swift is a pretty cool car too.
And they look at us and they say, you messed up.
You did this.
And so my answer to your question, Vedanza,
is because we didn't want them.
And now they don't want us.
But our money is not good there.
Yeah.
Can I give the real answer after the answer?
Toyota owned support of Suzuki, which you may or may not know.
Oh, and you're afraid that it's going to steal.
I think Toyota said no, because the draft four sales would go down.
Graph four looks truck-like.
And the draft four sales would go down if you sold it.
Of course, the chimney is the size of this glass.
That theory is actually dumber than my theory.
And my theory is that they came out with a spike car.
And he came out with a worse theory than the spike car.
They didn't want the urban cruiser market to go.
The actual answer to this is the following.
The United States market is incredibly difficult to sell cars
in a particular gas powered cars.
There's an enormous amount of regulations.
That's hard.
The US market has an enormous amount of regulations
that a lot of other markets don't have,
or where the other markets are consistent across.
Yeah, that's right.
There's a lot of consistent regulations
that only apply to the US market.
In addition, the physical size of the United States
makes it difficult to sell cars here.
Because you can't just start selling cars in North Carolina.
You've got to show up with a dealer network
versus the entire country, and that is very hard to establish.
And Suzuki just realized they're not making enough money
to justify this ridiculous investment
that the United States market is.
Now, if you can crack the US market and get the dealer network
and build out the cars and make the regs,
you can have huge success because there's a lot of Americans
and they have a lot of money relative to other places.
But Suzuki just decided it ain't worth it for them
and there are other markets that are worth doing more.
The chimney would be very difficult to get
as United States regulations.
I drove one.
It started life and still exists in some forms
as a K-car in Japan.
It is tremendously tiny.
That's right.
That's not.
Pull up the K-car chimney.
Pull up the K-car chimney.
Pull it up.
Send any voice note.
Hey, sis.
So, okay, you know that cozy hoodie
you always steal from Charlie after your workouts?
Well, I just went to Lulu Lemon
and saw they have the same one for women now.
I think it's called Steady State
just throwing the idea out there
since you haven't added your wish list in the group chat yet.
Plus, I know how much you love matching Charlie.
Anyway, talk later.
I'll see you at Run Club.

Oh wow, he typed the K-car.
Yeah, he'd think of the Chrysler's.
There's a K-car chimney.
There's a K-car chimney.
There's a K-car chimney.
But the K-car one isn't.
I think the K-car one is.
Go back up.
Go back up to the top.
That is the K-car one.
Right there.
There.
So, yeah, I learned Suzuki both the K-class chimney
without flares.
That car is made a little narrower.
Okay.
It's a K-car and small.
It's really small.
Getting this to pass U.S. regs would be very, very tough.
It'd be hard to get it to pass all these things.
And also all the stuff that everybody loves about this car.
It's so cheap.
Why don't they bring it to the States?
It's so affordable.
Once you add in the regulations, the imports, the dealers, all that stuff,
it wouldn't be cheap anymore.
And I'm driven it and in a worth it.
I will say, they also have a ton of demand.
I think they've realized that they can do well enough without the U.S. market.
They just, like, six months ago,
came out with a four-door version of it.
Five-door, if you're in Europe.
Five-door four, five-door version of it.
It was in Mexico City.
A couple weeks ago, they were everywhere already and they'd just come out.
Yeah.
That there is a strong demand also.
Yeah.
And they decided it wasn't worth it.
Yeah.
That's a good point.
I'm sure it could pass in.
You need to architecture a car from the beginning and a platform from the beginning
to meet U.S. regulations in most cases.
Yeah.
And that would have been hard to do.
Plus, if you wanted to sell in Canada, it would have to have daytime running lights.
And God knows they're not going to do that.
Okay.
I got two more questions and they're good.
Okay.
Can we get to the press car color?
You want that one?
Okay.
I'll do that.
No, no, no, no, no.
I'll do that.
No, look at the question.
I know the question.
He cheats.
He just cheats like nobody else.
I look at the question, but I forget them all.
And then I learn about them again.
Okay.
I want to be surprised.
From Colin Dowd, this is a question that is very important to me to answer.
From Colin Dowd.
Okay.
He asks, Doug, do you ever feel like you have to be overly positive when reviewing a car
that is live on cars and bids for sale?
There's a second part of this question.
I'm going to answer the first part first.
No, and I'll tell you.
If you look at my reviews, I get this question sometimes.
People like, are you more positive with cars on the site?
The last car we did that was on the site.
The title is, the old mobile bravada was America's luxury SUV failure.
Okay.
The Cadillac Cotera video.
Do you remember that there was a couple of weeks ago?
The Cadillac Cotera was a failed attempt to resurrect Cadillac.
I actually have found that I am more negative now than I used to be before about a lot of the cars.
Whether or not that's the right strategy, I don't know.
But it's important to keep in mind.
People are like, oh, he's shilling for cars and bids, so he's more positive.
This is one car that's selling this week.
In a traditional week on cars and bids, we can sell up to 200 or 250 cars.
One car that sells or doesn't sell, I don't really care.
To be perfectly honest, it doesn't really matter to me.
I also cherry pick cars that I think are specifically interesting, right?
Interesting, not good.
No, this is not really good.
Not necessarily good.
The bravada is interesting, but it was a massive failure.
Now, the second part to this question is, for example, the Juke Nismo RS is a terrible car and heinous,
but your review didn't paint that picture.
Colin Dowd bite your tongue.
The Juke Nismo RS is a brilliant automobile.
No, it's heinous.
It's awful.
It's an automobile for sure.
Actually, I drove around.
Recently it's old, went to its new owner and I had to bring it up for the shipper and stuff.
Kind of liked it.
It's fun to drive.
It's fun to drive.
Colin is commenting.
He's never driven one.
He's coming to me because he thinks it's ugly.
Nobody drove.
We did.
It's us back to a conversation we had a couple of weeks ago where in you guys all criticize that car for being ugly
and now you have only yourselves to blame for the fact that the Nissan Rogue Sport looks like it does.
Every time you see a boring car on the road, remember that it's because you said the Juke was ugly.
Every time an automaker tries something interesting and then gets beaten down by you guys.
You are talking to someone who likes the way the G80 M3 looks.
And the Juke Nismo RS came out.
And the Juke Nismo RS came out.
And I hate the Juke Nismo RS.
That's the point.
But I don't like Nissan's Juke Nismo RS.
It's interesting.
They went interesting.
No, they went ugly.
We don't want.
We want boys.
There's a difference between beautiful.
They took a risk.
They went ugly.
Yeah, they took a risk.
It was terrible.
And you know, sometimes you lose.
Fine.
They took a risk.
You hated it.
So they said, fine.
We're just going to do boring.
So every time you see a boring car on the street from now on, blame yourself.
No.
If I lived in the world of cars, every car would be cool looking.
Every car would be in a really ugly car.
They'd all be interesting.
The Fiat Multiply.
They went and did beautiful car.
Okay.
They tried something.
But we love it as a, it's a platypus.
We can't hate a platypus.
So anyway, that's the answer to your question.
The Juke Nismo RS is exactly as I described it.
That car selling on the site, which probably sold for like 11 grand,
made us like $400.
It has zero bearing on my review.
I don't even think about it.
I don't care.
It doesn't matter at all to me.
The Juke Car is different.
The Juke Nismo.
Bring it up there.
14.5.
That made us $500.
I don't care.
It's not even on my thought when I review the car.
But this isn't as bad as people think.
Look at those recars, dude.
They're a real car.
They get, yeah, we can get a 360 camera.
Look at those 360 cameras.
You tell me it's a bad car.
The seats are nice, but God.
This has recars at every bit of 146 horsepower.
It is a shame.
I don't know if that's how cool.
Has anyone must have put an R35 GTR engine?
They did.
You said they did.
Oh, that's right.
They did.
The Juke R.
But apparently one was severely destroyed.
Right.
It earned like $250,000.
They were like a million now.
But one came up used.
And they were asking like $250.
So that's some strong depreciation.
That's tough.
Even that car wasn't spared.
It ate the V8 signal.
Let's put it that way.
No, it's not.
Okay.
Final question that Felipe wants us from Alec Metz 2011.
Doug, you've always said you try to buy your car, your car, and the press color.
Not try.
It does do.
There's no exceptions.
Which car has the best press photo color ever?
Liban Marano first gen.
Oh.
Thought about this for the last 30 seconds.
That's what you're going to do.
Pull it up.
Pull it up.
Pull it up.
It's the orange.
Honestly, that is what I'm going to do.
That came out of the three.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But press photo is going to be the same.
I didn't have it in.
2003.
2003.
2003.
You like that.
Now.
Yeah, yeah, go to that copper one.
Yeah, the copper one.
That is the press photo.
And I hear.
Yeah.
Never seen that.
Oh, look at that color.
Okay.
What about the FX?
Oh, three infinity FX 45 interior.
Type in interior.
You know what I'm.
No.
You don't know about this?
No.
It matched.
You said oh, five.
Oh, three.
Oh, four.
I think that's FX 45.
I was going to say that.
The orange exterior.
They did.
They did an orange interior.
Wow.
It is orange.
Including carpets.
Lovely.
Go back to the exterior.
Can we get a takeout?
Can you take out the interior?
Of an FX 45?
I just want to see.
I'm waiting for an orange one.
I'm straight up waiting for an orange one.
I'd love that car.
Yeah.
But that my head went to the like early 2000s copper.
That's a good color.
There were a lot of cars.
And it wasn't just needs on infinity.
No.
2003 Cadillac CTS.
Yep.
There were a lot of cars this color.
Yeah.
The C6.
Remember?
Yeah.
But that's those are.
That was their color.
That was the color.
The C6 is around in that color.
None of the other cars.
No.
They never sold any of these cars in this color.
Hey, wait.
How about the 96 A4?
Type in 1996 Audi A4.
Was it blue?
Do you remember what they did?
No, you were too young.
I'll never forget it.
Just type it.
I'm sure you're scrolled down.
I don't know what's going on here.
But they launched this car.
And all the press colors were like Skittles colors.
There was like greens and blues and teals.
Like that.
Oh, yeah.
And then people didn't want that.
So, like, only the 96s and 97s are in weird colors.
And then the rest are all kind of silver.
What about the twingo?
Oh, like the bluish purple.
There were a lot of press colors that were also Skittlesy.
Look, I love every press color that's ever existed.
1996, I don't know.
I have specifically bought cars.
Yeah.
Like that.
That's what I think of when I think of it.
It was that famous ad where there were a bunch of them
in different colors.
Yeah.
I have specifically bought cars and colors.
I liked less.
Just because in my mind's eye, the correct color was the press color.
Yeah, there it is.
The defender.
The new defender that I bought in green.
I didn't want green.
The blue one.
Can't you agree with a good color?
Blue was the best color.
Can't you agree with a good color?
Under the blue is the best color.
But I'm not going to not get with it.
It's just mentally that it just is green.
Like, that's what it is.
Was white the Sequoia, press color?
They didn't advertise the Sequoia for obvious reasons.
It was ugly.
An overpriced.
They didn't want everybody to just see it.
That it also needs average.
You know, if you look at the Sequoia press photos
from that year, they only were only three colors.
And they were all used all three of them in the end.
That car show.
What about what a site?
Oh, damn.
You know of the site?
Of course.
That car show's already got the K4 hatchback.
Yeah.
Which was just revealed today at NAICS or whatever the correct one.
And why is it?
Yeah.
The thing is most of the press photos of the Sequoia weren't the pro.
And so it's kind of hard to know.
Because most of the, like, a lot of them were silver,
but that was color was even offered on the pro.
Oh, get to the pro.
Oh, there it is.
That's a 24.
That's not, yeah, that's a 24.
I don't even have the ability to have Tara.
Although, no, I have a 24.
But did I have Tara?
Yeah.
Remember that they could be tried.
The options were the bright orange and then Tara.
And I thought they both looked terrible,
although I saw Tara one the other day.
And I actually was like, you know,
Yeah, you were fused, but you were wrong.
With these press photos.
That's not a take-in approach.
Yeah, that's a take-in approach.
That's a take-in.
The water on the engine.
Remember that Mitsubishi Eclipse press photoshoot?
I do.
Pull it out.
It's a Mitsubishi Eclipse final addition
and then we have to end this podcast.
That's one of the all-time great ones.
The Mitsubishi Eclipse when they came out with this thing.
Yeah, there it is.
That's it.
The final Mitsubishi Eclipse.
Oh, maybe it was the final one.
It was the final one.
It was the last one.
But the car was built normal Illinois,
which is where they make ribbons now.
And these are corporate photos that were really...
The corporate team went outside.
Look, if you scroll in, go back to the...
If you scroll in, they got like several people in the back.
Oh, yeah.
These were the prime pictures they released.
The entire team spent a whole day.
To get to like the pond on the site of the factory in normal Illinois.
And this was their press photo.
Absolute disaster.
Disaster.
Okay.
That's the other part.
Flippo, any final words?
Yeah, according to that little thing,
the new Subaru Outback has a ruler built into the tillets.
There you go.
Do you like it now?
No, you don't.
You can...
I don't have to say something about Carson Bitts.
CarsonBitts.com.
It's where you get to discuss the buy and stuff.
Did Lincoln and Cadillac not sponsor any of this?
It's not about that.
What's that about?
I don't Lincoln, Cadillac.
You're not Lincoln or Cadillac.
Give us money.
Who is this?
Probably won't accept it.
No, we don't put money from out of here.
Never ever.
Goodbye, everyone.
Goodbye.
Goodbye.
