I think the Lexus ecosystem that you're seeing today is,
honestly, it's very driven by design,
you know, led by Simon Humphries.
He's got a strong hand in this company,
and he's really got a great knack of letting designers create
to build out a bigger vision.
And so, we started this ecosystem a few years ago,
and we had multiple ideas,
but in the end we honed down, we tuned,
and we have a small team, honestly.
Oh, really?
Lexus design globally is not that big,
but we all were working together,
the technology today allows us to work together seamlessly,
even though we're across continents,
and we can make decisions quicker,
but we all really,
I mean, I would say this is the most cohesive teamwork
with all the other studios that I've ever been involved with.
It's definitely different.
But you know, my team is here today,
the Calty team, they're here.
Calty is in Southern California, right?
Calty, yeah, well, we have two studios,
we're the North American Advanced Design Studio
for Toyota and Lexus,
and we're one company, but two locations.
We have Advanced Design in Newport Beach, California,
and we have Production Design in Ann Arbor,
but I have nine designers with me today.
So Calty Design, we did the LS Coupe Concept,
and the LS Micro Concept,
and the Lexus House,
and the Lexus Hub,
which you saw in the movies today.
So we're reaching into architecture as well,
which is really great,
because it expands our horizons as a design team.
And you, as a designer,
your background was automotive always?
Always automotive.
But I always loved architecture.
When I was a little kid,
I always dreamed of making a skyscraper and putting my name.
Maybe you can still do it.
It's a little late for me,
I think I'm definitely dedicated to the automotive space.
But again, I see this evolving,
and it's getting into other areas.
I mean, I wouldn't see...
I mean, there's other brands that are building towers in Miami.
I just visited a couple like this month.
So I don't know, I'm not trying to put anything...
Yeah, no.
But the way I see the company evolving
is like almost endless possibilities.
I think that's what's so exciting about today,
is I think we're opening a book.
It's like starting a new chapter,
and then this is just the start.
And maybe all of these designs get realized,
maybe they don't.
But there are cool ideas that are getting to something.
I think it opens the door for us to keep trying
and see something new and maybe...
I don't know, maybe some of these things
will make it to market,
and then we try other things.
But I think technology today
is allowing us this ecosystem to actually happen.
So...
So here at the Japan Mobility Show,
we have other news from the Toyota Group,
including Century,
which is another luxury brand.
Very traditional here in Japan.
I think that was a model with the Toyota brand.
But now, I'm not going to say it's competition,
but it's like a new division.
So explain that concept, please.
So what's really great about it is
Century is definitely above Lexus.
100%.
There's no crossing over.
There's no diluting the brands.
So Century is definitely...
It's definitely ultra luxury.
And it's bespoke.
It's one of one.
It's definitely handmade.
It is a handmade car.
We make three of them a day.
You can spec the Century to however you want.
So that's a totally different level
of luxury that's above Lexus.
But it's so far above where we were
that we still have space to move Lexus up,
but in a different direction.
So where we're trying to move it is more...
A little bit more avant-garde.
A little bit more risk taking.
More adventurous.
More innovative.
And that's why we...
Century, the coupe is beautiful.

And that's a bespoke artisan statement.
Okay, this is my one car.
Completely different than anything else out there.
But Lexus today, it's all about the entire ecosystem
and making something new.

No, there's no news yet.
I actually don't have any of those plans.
