A lively voicemail-heavy Snail Trail 4x4 episode blends off-road talk with community updates and a big debate: whether off-roading is “coming to an end” as electrification grows. Callers share travel and trail stories, including a long hike and a Cedar Point Top Thrill Dragster 2 coaster revamp, plus multiple tech questions (stainless contamination/brushes, and diagnosing overheating/temperature gauge accuracy). The show also pivots into safety and mental health after a tragic off-road-related death, with reminders about risk mitigation. Electric off-road is framed as the future, not the end.

What's up, everybody. Welcome to snail.
This is our fun new ish segment to the podcast.
Fridays.
We added in another episode for everybody. To
enjoy out there. So,
this is a fun 1, though. Jimmy and
I have been really enjoying these because we get to hear about all of your guys are shenanigans And it just kinda gives us... I don't
know. Some other stuff to talk about and
involve you guys with the podcast, rather than just me and Jimmy sitting in a closed kinda small ish room, trying not to touch each other. So...
Yeah. Man And how's how's your Friday going
so far? Friday's going well. It was day
after fourth of July. Right? So. Yeah.
Today, I am driving the assistant to get picked up by her. Father because Nice. He
has her over the... The... For the next
week. Do you still have all your fingers?
All your phil fl? I still have all
my angie. Yeah. You're not a banana man?
No.
No. Definitely not. Good. Yeah. Well, technically, and
where where I live, we're not allowed to have fireworks.
Oh, okay. Which makes sense. But we yeah.
We went down to my buddy's house down in Monterey area. Mh. And yeah. We... Cool.
We're up on a side of a hill with lots of watering cans and hoses around and had some funny Sweet. We'll
talk about that on Thursdays episode yesterday's?
No. Next Thursday Thursday. Yep. Sounds good. Yep.
That makes some more sense about, man. Wait
a minute.
Time travel.
Yeah. So do we get to go over
some voice mails from you guys. We are
back up to 19. So we're still having
20. Wait Well, that's good. We're getting caught
up. We're slowly. Slowly working our way up
there.
I think at the end of last week, we down to, like 12 or 13. We're
back up. What we did. Something like 9.
Yeah. Or... Yeah. So some crazy amount last
time because, who was it? Zach mo oklahoma called in,
left 2 messages and then read our our favorite left 4. So we just let it go.
Yeah. Read, We have an air hub for
you by the way. Yeah. You're listening, buddy.
We got your you were the winner. Over
the monthly give... Way. Either, I don't know
if you wanna come by the way bar else I head Ready You can or we can have Jimmy, drop it off next See you. I'll probably drop it off. Okay. Yeah.
Let's see, read also... Last time, I think
Read 1 was the 2 70 aw from iron ironman. 4 Did you and he want
some good prizes.
Yeah. I'm jealous. Yeah. Absolutely. I think I've
both those items now. A 2 70 aw
and an air hub So we do it.
Yeah. Okay. Which I have 0. Yeah. The
Freaking camping trailer still... I keep getting about
1 by a week, People asking about it. And but the... No.
I I'll tell me yeah. It's available. When
do you wanna come by and look at it and just nothing out. Yeah. I'm like,
I don't understand Facebook marketplace people.
Then get it. It's just, like, I'm sort
of interested in this. Yeah. But it's like...
It's... They hit the button that says, is
this still available. Right? Yeah. The the auto
reply thing, and then I'll say, yeah, It is or they'll send another message after. It's not just the... Is this
available They send another messes they've typed out.
And I'll reply to it and then nothing afterwards. So I think I'm gonna end up
stripping the trailer all the way down take everything. I've already taken the electrical system
out of it. Yeah. So now the next
step is gonna be taking the aw off of it, and I'm I think I'm gonna put the aw over on the 4 runner.
Oh, man.
That could be nice. That way, you know,
we were out at 4, which we'll talk about on yesterday's.
Episode.
And where I had the 4 in park, there wasn't any issue she was just in the blazing sun, and so having to go over there and get the kid in and out and stuff. It was a... Yeah. It's
just in the blazing sun the whole time.
So Rock lander. Rock lander, Rock in life.
Anyways, voice mails, Voice mail Do some voice mails. Do it. Alright. Let's get into the
Teens.
We're already in the teens. Let's get to
the low teens. Yeah. Looks like we got
Zach Oklahoma. Okay. Uncle pool.
Lance not the company and then more uncle pool and Zach. Sweet.
So... Alright. Well, let's see what everybody's got
to say today.
What up Doing and Tyler? Zach from Oklahoma,
calling all the way from Illinois right now.
I'm making my way to tank key Rivers Saint Park.
I just not too long. Ago finish the,
16 plus mile long hike.
That was very very long.
But truck doing good right now coolant wise.
No issues have popped up on this trip.
Must be nice.
As for star Valley.
Haven't haven't gotten yet, but they did see it on Ps 4.
After I I'm planning through fallout 4, I will... I plan to get it because
it's on the playstation store. So
oh, I say something else. Oh, Cedar Point.
I'll be there in, like, a couple days.
But the pop drags here, the 1 that goes 4 and 20 feet high, and it's launches at a hundred 20 miles an hour.
Has my favorite 1.
0 who, it was shut down for last year's season because the 20 22 season part fell down and struck somebody in the head and they had to close it for the 20 23 season.
For this season they revamped it.
So it's no longer 1 launch, there's 2 launches.
Still goes the same height. Still how's that
core figured going down.
But as you go down, like, when you get to the bottom, there's like a couple hump to go over to help slow the coaster down. As far
as I know, it's the same speed of a hundred 20 miles an hour, but they've added the other launch, which might mean that the coaster doesn't fall back anymore.
Because they used be a thing.
And I don't think it was intentional when they first released it. It was just something
that happened every so often then they played it off.
They're like, we get sent backwards this time.
I think it happened too many times. For
the customer and the custody have eventually broke for whatever reason.
But now, I'm excited I'm up to head to my next state Park. It'll be state Park number 7, I
think.
I did some wheel in Missouri, nearly back into a tree.
I had a tow mater out of a spot because still a tornado damage in that area.
It's over close to Benton, American arkansas.
And...
Oh, got cut off. You next time. K.
My phone's has been acting weird. I don't
know why it cut out, but anyways, I just wanted to end with keep crawling, catch all later, you'll have a good day.
Keep tracking.
It cut off because you hit the 3 minute mark mark. There's zach. 3 minutes it's
all you get.
What it... I...
First off, if you wanna launch at a hundred and 20 miles an hour, just getting Tesla, Or.
They'll do that just fine.
It's awesome.
Yeah. And
many times you like. True. True. I'm wondering
if it's as fast.
I don't know.
Cj. Cj with the Cj Call in and
let us know. I want... Because I don't
remember the details on that. Yeah. I mean,
well, it's it's something like 2 seconds. Isn't
it?
To a hundred 20 miles an hour? Oh,
to 60. Yeah. The Ribbons and Tesla are
0 to 16, about 2325?
Well, was the name of that coaster that he said? That 1 that I don't Did
he say it? I wanna look it up
or have Brian, look it up.
Just look up Cedar Point launch coaster. I don't know.
So top thrill.
It's the...
Have a need for speed, get revamped in 20 24 and buckle up as Cedar point introduces top thrill 2.
It is the world's tallest and fastest triple launch launch coaster.
Love launch coaster. Okay. Yeah.
It goes 420 feet into the air. Mh. It
goes a hundred and 20 miles an hour, and the whole ride is 2 minutes, I think.
So what's the... How fast is the launch?
I know. That's what I wanna look. I
wanna know the acceleration numbers?
Alright. I got it. Top thrill drags
to goes miles an hour in 3.8
seconds.
So... So that's about double the 0 to
60. I mean, it's it's about the same
rate as 0 to 16 2.52
ish seconds. Yeah. To roughly 3.3 0.8. So...
Yeah, Then that's quicker. Alright. Yeah.
So it's that same acceleration, but twice as long. Yeah. More or less. Yeah. And I
don't know if the Tesla can continue that.
Yeah. I don't know. What they... What their
0 to 01:20 is.
Here we go. Brian. Look it up.
6 seconds.
Okay. So 0 to a hundred and 20
miles an hour and 6 seconds.
So it's 40 percent faster acceleration. Yeah. And I'm not sure which Tesla
that is. I just typed in Tesla 0
to 120 time, and that came with 6 seconds 6 a whole graph of it. Oh, So Yeah.
6 seconds.
Okay. So there you go.
Top thrill, 22 is 35 to 40 percent faster acceleration than Tesla.
You're here to answer the hard question. So
it's no trouble by. Which it's a lot
of fun. So, that that and,
yeah. You just zoom up.
And I'd wanna say I do remember, like, people riding the coaster and going up, and then coming back down and be like, oh, I hope I'm on that 1, because then you get to launch twice.
Hoping on that 1. Yeah. Because they launched
and it didn't make it all the way up over the top of the crest to come back down. It with
and then not make it to the top and then reverse back to the start.
And then they would launch them again. Okay.
I didn't realize how that coast. I had
assumed it was like Superman.
Where it just up and down. Yeah. No.
So it launches up, and then it does at when you're up, like, vertical, more or less, you know, perpendicular to the ground.
It does a arc. Okay. And then then
does your torque screw on the way down, And, I guess they added some hops. Okay.
And then you... And then it lines back
up. Okay. And so when what zach saying
and I remember this is if they launched, it doesn't make it over the crest at the top, it reverses back into its spot.
Okay. I was gonna ask about that. I
was like, why would it go? What's the
point? I mean, it the ride goes backwards?
Because it's like super. Yeah. What what do
you mean? It's... So anyway, that makes more
sense then. Right. So in that right, are
you in a sitting cart? But like, are
you in a car? Or are you, like,
in a harness heat dangling? Oh, you're in
a cart in with a harness? Yes. Yeah.
I assume Yeah. Yeah. There's it's like a...
It's a drags.
Okay. Game. Got it. Right. So you're, like,
in a car, you gotta a fold that...
Like, ratchet thing that goes over to your shoulders and everything. Mh. Because at some point, you're you're
either all the way back against your seat or you're leaning up against the harness as you're go and down. And then, yeah, you're
just sitting there. There's a ride at 6
flags Magic Mountain that does a vertical cork group downwards. And but you're you're hanging
from it. Right? Okay. So your feet are
not supported by nothing. So as you start
doing this cork screw, your feet start flying outwards. As you're, like, going downwards, and... You're
not in a car or anything. So it's
a it's a very interesting feeling. Yeah. Well,
yeah. In a few with,
in a few weeks. I'm going to 6
Flags. So we're doing a plus
so long. Down to Southern California. We're going
to Knot berry Farm. Nice.
And then I guess Knot sp farm has a water park. Yep. And so, we're gonna
go to Knot farm 1 day. We're going
to the water park the next day, then we're driving.
The app that afternoon to 6 flags, spending the night going to 6 flags all day, spending a night and then driving home.
It's gonna be a whirlwind of a... That'll
be a lot of fun the yeah out of time, but that's we have, like, a solid week with the mini assistant, and we're gonna take her to go do some fun things.
I missed 6 flags. When I lived down
in vice sell Larry, I had season passes every year to 6 flags. Okay. Because it
was only an hour and a half away.
Right? Yeah So it's kinda like the the
ford ice for now. Right now, Rub gonna
Ford ice for me now, but I would just go down early in the morning. And
get there before the crowds show up at 7 8AM. And then by noon, I've written
everything I wanted to ride. Yeah and just
leave as all the crowds are getting there and how that's starting to get all busy.
So And I would do that once a week, once every couple weeks. Yeah.
In high school. So that was fun. Cool.
Alright. So thanks, Zach for calling in.
Fun to hear about the revamp on that coaster.
Let's see. So we got next 1 from
Uncle Pool, Let's see what Uncle Pool gotta say.
Hey, guys. It's is Kevin Fo. Hey. I
had a good lawyer since you guys talked about braces this was.
That you guys briefly mentioned staples deal. I
do a stable still on the David Macy's.
And it always amaze me. How many people
don't I usually know.
Basically about combinations all stainless.
That the simple that says if you are, you have a flap you use the flat ounce steel.
Then you go use it on stainless steel.
That stainless steel is not gonna rust because you've been correct it with metal steel, contaminants.
We have separate bins Have everything for stainless aluminum and even steel. We have separate bins
all of our flap.
We've used it on steel. Goes in a
separate hood. But... Yeah. At anytime it stainless.
You wanna make sure you have a a stainless steel brush, not a steel brush, the same thing you're clean wells, You're gonna scratches it's gonna rush. Have to keep everything stainless
typically separate.
I don't, figured it's a good thing to know with people.
We've got multiple people come in and Well, let's just say they screw up some sanitary stuff.
Well, yeah. There, like you guys know. Keep
stuff separate. If you're dealing with stainless and
aluminum.
Alright. You gotta be doing 1. Bye.
Yeah. 100 percent, especially in, like, Kevin's work,
where they...
The that's health and safety reasons. Why things
need to stay stainless. Stay aluminum. So absolutely.
Yeah. I did have... I had a few
people message and. After the Walter talk with,
Corey. Mh. And they said if like, yeah.
He... They make
abrasive now or cut this now that work on all these different platforms forms. Yeah. But
as soon as you use it on 1, you should not use it on the other ones. Correct. Because now you're contaminating
or your cross contamination from material, the material. Yeah. The benefit. The benefit
is your inventory, unused inventory of disks and flap could be 1 sku Correct. And then once you you
pull from that inventory to do a stainless job, and then like Kevin said, you throw that disc then into the stainless bin. Yeah.
To use again later from the stainless bin, and then you have an aluminum bin and a mild steel bin and kinda thing like that. So Correct. That's the benefit, and that's
what Corey was talking about. He was not...
He did not intend to say, oh, yeah.
You can just use Reuse reuse it all the stainless or whatever.
So... Right. Absolutely. Yeah. Good stuff. Thanks Kevin.
Lance not the company.
So we Did did where is my play button here it is?
Hey, Tyler, and Jimmy. I was
listening me to another... Hi, Lance. Podcast that I'm spam because
they they good. Obviously what is talk virtually.
Brought up an interesting topic about is all pro coming to an end.
And 1 Of the things is say were talking about was with the push for E and how mostly evenings are not nearly capable.
They probably won't build at capable vehicles are really with the, you know, offer road vehicles in the E world. And so just off
road when come to 10 or slowly come to an end, as people stop doing it, I don't know that that'll will ever happen.
I mean, I think there's too many people that really love the operated industry. I think
the offer industry a little too big for this just a lot like that. However,
it could bring up a good midpoint of really, you know, advertising And we lose them? It's still playing. Lifestyle
really love to make sure that we don't use any traction on any of that.
What thing they said is if you don't own an offer vehicle buy an off vehicle and take it off road. If you have
an offer vehicle, that you don't take off road. Take off
road. So
visit trails and support, you know, tread lightly, support Blue ribbon coalition, things like that.
I thought those role good points and and I thought maybe it would be a good topic to see get stuff, because you guys obviously, are are much more knowledgeable in the off road industry and what the future looks like, and I don't think it's it's a care tactic for, you know, another podcast to say, is becoming to an end, but I think it's worth at least talking about and continuing to promote. So we don't lose any
of what we do out.
Anyway, 6 out of 5 every time as always.
You guys rock.
This is a fun topic. Yeah. That could
be a... This could be a whole up.
Episodes for sure. Let's do this for Monday's
episode. Do we have another topic for my?
I mean, we always have... There's multiple topics
we could discuss. I'm I'm okay with it.
Do you let's just...
Within in 1 or 2 sentences.
Yeah. Let's answer it that way How Okay.
And then if we choose to do it for Monday's episode, we can dive in up.
On Alright.
Do you want me to go first? Go
for it.
Quick answer, no. Not off road not is
not dead, not gonna die.
I think people are very smart and imaginative and we'll figure out how to modify vehicle... Evs to still go off it. I'll
I'll leave it at that.
Yeah. I'm I'm totally in glance. I don't
think off operating is going anywhere with Evs and the shift to Evs.
The rule on Evs is that the rule that they're trying to push for Evs.
Is that all new vehicles as of 20 need to have electrification. Right. But not necessarily
full on E they could be hybrids of some sorts. They
could be plug in hybrids. They could be
full on E. There's there's different definitions for
electrification are different.
Tiers of electrification.
So how long is that gonna take to come into the aftermarket off road phase. I
mean, you still have people out there driving Cj or... Yeah. 19
seventies or older jeep like it's at Willie. Willie. It's... I don't I don't
think that the new legislation coming in on Evs is gonna have a massive impact in the off road vehicles.
However, I do think that electric motors are freaking phenomenal Yeah. For off road vehicles. It's not gonna
off operating off road is not gonna go away.
The electric of electrification vehicles is gonna change the market. I think
it's gonna change the market, And I think we're gonna start seeing electric side by sides. Oh, yeah. Which is
gonna be nuts. Yeah. How fast those things
are gonna be able to go and I think we're gonna start seeing more electric off road vehicles. What Sure. What
help me out ultra for driver 40...
I I know exactly who you're talking about.
That Kyle.
Kyle was his name. And started. And then
what test in is doing? Kyle with yeah.
Exactly. Not
not test 10.
Evolved racing. Yes. Well they they have been.
They have S Chevy s 10. Right.
Evolved racing so. Yes. Their name. Yeah. Kyle
with the 4 runner. Yeah Yeah. And then
there's the guy that did the electric... F
80. Mh. So and there's Jimmy? Jimmy? Yep.
That's right. There's a few electric samurai out
there. Yeah. There's electric is an awesome off
operating platform. The trick is just how do
you refuel?
Absolutely. While you're out in the wild. Right?
Yeah. You can just carry a gas tank
with you. Right? The more gas can with
you more batteries it doesn't not feasible. So
that's That's the hurdle we have to come over, but electric motors for off road. They're
awesome, instantaneous torque for off road.
It will be. Awesome. Yeah. So... Alright. Leave
it there. We'll leave it there for now.
Okay. We'll we'll probably attack that. I think
that will be a very interesting topic. To
discuss. Yeah.
Whether it's Monday or a future major we'll we'll probably go over that. I added it
to our our list of to topic. That's
what all the Beeping just was. Yeah.
Sorry.
Alright. Uncle go pool called. Okay.
He called back twice. So I'm wondering if
you... No. He didn't time out. See what
he's got? Hey. It's Tyler Chemical.
Hey. So, Hi. This is Rounds and Ralph
with off. Tyler's 4 owner overheating and lot
of What's So the easy solution because I kinda wanna do the same miller thing with the 22 r gauge cluster and an L.
I pretty much just love the computer, think whatever wants to think kept app sensor for the sensor.
Can I just put an auto in with Correct?
Send a unit for it. And it reads
perfectly correct. I didn't have to use a
diode or something resistor. Because That might be part of the
problem is maybe was just reading wrong. Maybe
you need to add a diode in line, something's not communicating.
Maybe they have different notes or voltages.
Same with like begin it. I had to
put an automated gauge in to ford tank, create backwards up 20 2RE.
So maybe it says simple as that is it's it's reading correctly, but maybe it's just getting right wrong o or voltage.
But an auto gauge in. I mean doesn't
hurt. That you know, there's probably some plug
or you can buy a tee, put it in line with a sending unit have a manual gauge in there.
Because it sounds like everything's working fine. It's
just...
Yeah. I don't know.
His own. Alright. Have a good 1.
So we, I have an update that we talked about yesterday in yesterday's episode. Okay. About
this topic, but we're recording, then listening to Kevin's topic before we talked to before record yesterday's episode. So...
In short, yes. I think I need to
do another temperature gauge source just to confirm what's really going on in the engine, Because after the run on Ford ice, I did, I'm I'm very confused as to what's going on. Okay.
I'm getting... I'm getting... I tried on 3
different temperature sources, and they were all giving me slightly different numbers.
Great. Interesting. Okay. So I think I just
need to add another 1 in. That's a
good high quality.
Gauge and send a unit to a gauge that sits in my dash or like, somewhere else. Somewhere in the cab. Yeah. That I
can check wall and compare it to everything else that, my other makes sense. Sensors. Yeah. To try to get
a a pure reading 1 way or enough.
Yeah. Yeah. Because I...
We'll talked about yesterday. So we talked about
yesterday. If you wanna know more about that,
go listen to yesterday's episode. Yeah.
Alright.
Go to pull a callback again or the quick 1. 0, hey, Jimmy Tyler. Hey just
at fyi eye. Rubber suck.
Thank you, Kevin.
Love it.
That's funny.
Alright. So next 1 Zach Mo home again.
Looks like he was in between his state park. Well see what he's got to say,
maybe not, maybe an update on a state Parks? Hello is Jimmy Tyler.
This Zack Oklahoma. I'm calling well while I
have connection right now.
Not to do the Vin County tunnel tour here in Ohio, but I just listened to the most recent episode with Nate, and mentioned Venom snake, in Oklahoma.
I looked it up. There's about 7 bend
in the snakes in Oklahoma. They're, like, some
3 variations of rattle snake.
Water and bunch of other ones.
I also looked up Texas as just the compares ask because so text it heart.
There's only like 4.
And, yeah. That's not much.
But, Nate, you should either, solid axle swap with the tacoma or an ib beam engine. I don't know.
How did we wanna see if the tacoma dye?
But I get it. You gotta weigh your
options.
I'm about to go through this tunnel tour and kinda smash through 5 hours of trails, and so I can get the kumar ridge next.
But Y'all keep crawling. Have a good day.
Thanks, Zach. Thanks for calling Did call right
back? He did not. Okay. While he was
talking, I looked it up, there are 33 species of snakes in California. For. Okay. 6
are Venom. Oh, that's more than I thought
we had. Yeah. Me too. I really really
knew the the rattle snake For which it was funny because I remember or when we were talking to Nate and you brought up the diamond bath. Western Diamondback weston Diamondback back,
and then I was like, yeah. And we
have the rattle, and then I was like, wait a second.
The diamondback is a rattle site. It's the...
Actually it's like the morph. Formal name that's,
like, the rattle snakes, the in umbrella for a bunch of different types of rattle snakes.
Yeah. Right? And then we have the Western
Diving back. So what are what are our
other 5 species. Let's look it up.
Of doing They're probably all...
Yeah. They're all rad snakes...
Oh, no. I'm just... That was... There's King
snakes in California Don't. I don't think king
snakes are venom. All Yes So there's the
diamondback. The Western diamondback back. That gives us
Then I've got to do some reading because they're all core...
Crow, I think is snake in let must be Latin. I get on.
Mh. Typically
So there's the south western speck rattle snake.
Okay.
Side.
I don't know what outside oranges is in california. Desert Mojave desert side.
That makes sense. Yeah. The Mojave
Mo.
Mo.
There's the Mojave Rattle snake.
Okay. There's a red diamond of Rattle snake.
And it looks like that's it. Okay. So
they're all rattle stakes.
So the exception of 1, a side.
Yeah. The side side or a rattle snake.
No. Don't think So. Yep. Are those the
ones that kinda coil when they move, they, like, moves at a diagonal. Yeah. Yeah. It's
almost like they pick up their body and s sideways. Exactly. It's kinda weird.
Cool. That's fun. Yeah. So all different versions
of rattle snakes with the exception of a side. Yeah.
Cool. Let's see. Dawn.
Rover don. Rover don called in. Alright. And
Dawn, I don't know if you heard, but we have people calling in, letting everybody know that rover suck.
The truth about Rover. So
let's see if Dawn has anything to say about that. Hey, guys, Rover Don here. Just
check it in. I've been I've been holding
off.
Hoping you can get that voice mail count down.
But after the last episode, IIII was worried.
Worried about your man Lee lip.
So I heard him calling in the other. No.
All worried about Lisa. We all know
he had a little excitement his day out in Moa avenue, you know, that happens. So now that he was
okay. I'm good. But I'm worried. There may
be...
He he may need to see doctor. There
could be some un diagnosed head trauma there.
And those things you you you can't you can't take that serious enough. You know,
That stuff, even the experienced guy might miss the subtle symptoms of this un diagnosed trauma.
But I'm I'm worried because in his last call, I I thought.
I thought I heard him say Rover suck.
Now that would clearly be a symptom of of drawn because we know, it's Toyota suck.
And, you know, I'm just looking out for the man. I hope you can, get him
the help he needs. Oh
and it all turns out well for it.
Anyway, all I got, we'll see you guys out there on the trail.
I don't know, man. And I I feel
like we have more people saying Rover sucked than Toyota sucker. Yeah Yeah.
I don't know.
You know what? I think I'll get Lee
some efficient chips, you know, a biscuit and some earl gray tea. Gray coupon. Yeah. And we'll just see
if that straighten out that's funny.
Donnie, Donnie Donnie.
Thank you for calling in, sir.
Alright. Well should do 1 more. Yeah. We
got chair. We got time for more. Yeah.
We're we're ahead to schedule. We can do
a few more actually. No. That time's off.
We didn't start up.
Okay.
I'll say the computer time says way different than the recorded time.
Alright. 1 more, and then that'll get us
down to 10.
Left. Okay. So we don't have done 9
today. Alright. Let's do it. Alright. So this
is... Looks like maybe a new caller, Victor
Victor from Mont tanya. Oh cool. Sue, Victor.
Thanks for calling. Yeah.
Hey, guys. It's Nick montana calling again. I
thought I was done with this.
But we keep talking up he on today's his birthday and he's homie. So...
It's Nick. Just wanted to, like Jimmy went
to college with them.
He's solid dude in the probably mid. I guess 2009
when he passed and yeah, I was I was supposed to be there with him that day when he crashed and had some of those thoughts of could I've been there? Could I done something
I've been medic and a nurse and the medic for the army Let the answer is no and anybody kind of going through those same things. I wanted
to know that you did the best that you could the knowledge you had at that time.
And maybe the next time it won't happen.
Anyway, that was all talking about the ambulance and bill kind of touched on that.
You guys want to check Ramsey racing on Instagram.
But we built a off operating for my buddy who owns the company that has contracts the forest service and so for wildfire response driving a regular box ambulance roundup up on the mountains kinda sucks. So we built a,
essentially a baja chase truck, and then slap the ambulance from the back of it. So...
That's okay.
Team suspension and all that kind of stuff.
And your hug. So anyway, keep crawling and
talk to later, It's pretty rad. Yeah. Yeah. Absolutely. Seen the
photos that he posted on the snail squad form there on Facebook is pretty cool. Yeah
what it is.
Funny, small funny story, Jason from the our other podcast. Yeah. The other
podcast.
Messaged me the other day and was like, wait. Are you talking about Mo? Like,
like the That used to ride out adult... H Hills
and I was like, yeah. Mh. Like, I
went to college with him, you know, like, nick said. And
he's like, I rode with that dude.
Yeah. And I was like, wait, You rode
at H, like, with Mo he and he's like, yeah. So I wonder if
Jason knows Nick also just through that. Wouldn't
surprise me. I know I believe Nick also
went on. They did, like a mo he
annual or a celebration of life ride for Mah, and I know Jason went on that ride.
Also. Okay. So that's kinda interesting. And I'm
sure, I wonder if Nick was at the... I
think the conclusion of that ride was at his house on campus, and they... We did a whole
celebration there. So I was at that, so
I might have met Nick then. Oh interesting.
But Jason was messaging me and telling me this and sent me a photo of the sell...
Like Mo shirt Yeah that was given on Mo birthday, and he didn't know it.
Oh so I was like, dude, it's funny that you're, like connecting with so crazy this day because today is actually Mo birthday. Yeah.
And he's like, what? And then... Yeah. Now
we have Nick calling on in on his birthday So... And, Jason was at H that
day. Jason was at H that day. He
was actually in writing somewhat with Mi he, and they all went out and did the some some trail together and his... The group that
he was with was ahead of Mo group.
Mh. And then got to the, like, you
know, back to the cars or whatever and we're hanging out, and they're like, wow, They should be backed by now. Wonder what happened.
Yeah. And then they found out what ended
happening. Yeah. Small story short from what I
understand is that his throttle got stuck on a corner. Mh
launched them off. And if you don't know
H Hills, it's... They're hills. It's... There hills
and tight corner hills, tight corners tall.
Launched them off the side of this hill.
And he flew like, across the off of the track, into a tree, crashed down through the tree fell into a pond, and then he swam out of the pond, and then the paramedics got there eventually and he was alive, and then he passed away on the way to the hospital. Wow. Yeah.
dude that, you know, you see, like, just give me hug, you know, just totally wraps you up, you know, and just hugs it, like, you know, your entire body isn't so big. Just super super nice guy.
And yeah, just a sad to. You know,
It's like, the good ones, you or, it seemed to go early for some reason. Yeah.
I don't know why we're still around. Yeah.
I know Race Maybe We're not good. Yeah.
We're good what's. But, yeah. Well, thanks, Nick
calling in. Yeah. I miss him. It's been
a... Yeah. Been a manny moons since he's
past, but still think about him every day.
Yep. Well, cool man.
I do know Nick top touched on something that I think is important to let people know out there that Yeah.
Survivors guilt. Sure. Absolutely is a huge thing.
And a lot of times, it just that there... If you look back on it. Yeah.
You could hindsight always 20 20, but, I mean, that's... You do what you the best
you can in a situation. And if it
doesn't work out, you can't beat yourself up over it, absolutely. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, you're
only... You know, you do what you do
in that moment. And that's all you can
all you, you know, can think about and Yeah. Handle. You know, and you think about
even, like, car accidents, you know, you think about, like, well, I wonder what would have happened if I sw this other way and you're like, well, you don't know. Like... And
then you... And you can't figure it out
because it never happened that way. You know?
It's like, you can think about it, But, yeah. Don't don't worry about it. Don't stress
about it. You know, it's
It is what it is. Yeah. And that...
It... That comes down to the, you know,
our hobbies that we do. Right? Mh. We
do active risk mitigation.
While we're out playing around with vehicles and Oh recreation.
And we do the best we can with risk mitigation, and sometimes, freak stuff happens. And Yeah. We we, as
Oh recreational understand that those risks are there.
And we accept those risks. Hopefully every time
you go out, You're willing to accept the consequences of whatever happens. And you just do whatever
you can to mitigate the risks in the first place and if something crazy happens. And,
you know, if it's my time to go.
It's my time to go. Yeah.
I went. I went you know,
playing around with my vehicle the way I wanted to. So... Yeah. Absolutely. Or drowning in
a rapid. So I... My biggest fear though
is always hurting somebody else. 100 percent. Right
right. That's that's what I always try to...
Protect myself. Yeah. Like... Or not... I protect...
I think about myself hurting somebody else, and then I do actions to prevent me from hurting other people.
Yep. That's a good way to think about
it. So... Yeah. Cool stuff. Thanks for calling
in, Nick. Yeah. Hopefully we hear back from
you again. So I think that's it for
today. Sounds good. We'll call it there. We're...
Did we got through 9? Okay. We're down
to 10? Down to 10. We'll see how
many we get over this week. Sounds good.
Yeah. I guess everybody have a great weekend.
Yep.
Have a happy holiday weekend. Mh. Sounds Yep.
Have some fun out there. Be safe, and
we'll see you guys on Monday.
Don't light any fires. Yes, please don't. And
hopefully keep all your hands.
