The NASCAR Cup Series made its triumphant return to points paying racing tonight at the North
Wilkes-Barrows Speedway for the running of the WINDOW World 450 and in what felt like
a tribute to a bygone era, Joey Logano showed utter dominance to the tune of leading 323
laps out of 450 to win Sunday's running of the WINDOW World 450.

Once again, in what feels like a crazy sentence to say, Joey Logano leads 323 laps out of
450 to win the WINDOW World 450, an absolutely incredible performance for Joey Logano and
the Penske 22-4, rounding out the top 10 as follows, Denny Hamlin, Chase Briscoe, who
started way deep in the field, Ty Gibbs, Shane Van Gisburgen, yes, Shane Van Gisburgen started
up front, I believe he started top 10, stayed there all day long to the tune of a top five
finish, fantastic day for SVG, Bubba Wallace in sixth, and Bubba last car on the lead lap,
yes, six cars on the lead lap, only six cars to finish on the lead lap. Now, back in the 90s,
I believe North Wilkes-Barre would have like 12 cars on the lead lap, so only six tonight,
which is a pretty big difference, Brad Kizolowski in seventh, Todd Gilliland, Daniel Suarez,
and rounding out the top 10 Ryan Priess. There were a few caution flags on Sunday night, the
first being on lap 40, when Zane Smith sent John Hunter knee with check spinning in turn two,
next up like 140 laps later, Alex Bowman and Tyler Reddick got into an accident,
as Bowman was trying to enter pit lane, this caution happened during the green flag pit stops
and sent a lot of heavy hitters two laps down, Chase Elliott, William Byron, Chris Buscher,
Austin Cindrick, and Chris Bell were all two laps down after that incident, and then the
final caution for an accident would have been lap 199, where Christopher Bell, then once again,
got loose and collected Josh Berry, which saw some considerable damage to Berry's forward
and sent him to the garage for repairs. So let's go ahead and head track side to North Wilkes-Barre,
where FrontStretch.com reporters Michael Massey and Andrew's daughter have been on the beat all
weekend, covering the action for FrontStretch.com. Boys, take it away.
What's going on? Thank you, Eric, for throwing to us and thank you all you listeners, if you're
still listening to us, if you're awake or you're listening to the next morning. I'm Michael Massey,
joined by Andrew Stoddard. If you're listening to this as a podcast form, we're standing right
now on the start finish line, North Wilkes-Barre Speedway, where Joey Logano just kicks some.
But Andrew, it's the most laps he's ever led in a single race in his career. There have been so
many doubts about him. I think him and Paul Wolf together after kind of a struggling start of the
season. But what does tonight do for Joey Logano and Paul Wolf? I said before and I'll say it again,
Michael, never count out Joey Logano in an even numbered year. Never, ever. And tonight,
like that, is the reason why. It kind of reminiscent of his performance in the All-Star
race he won here a couple years back. You know, got that track position and boy, did he ever maintain
it. A big win for the 22 bunch getting back above the cut line for the chase. Yeah, he's back in
and I think people had started to count him out from it because the speed hadn't been there.
But now he wins this. There's several more track types similar to this coming up,
but we'll hear on that in a second. Another really impressive guy, Shane Van Gisburgen,
went out there, led 49 laps, was a corner away from winning a stage. First laps he's ever led on
a short track. First, top five, first top 10 he's ever gotten on a short track. He finishes fifth
tonight. Andrew SBG has figured this oval racing out. And that should be a scary thought for the
rest of the cup series field, Michael. I'll tell you what, you know, we kind of saw shades of it
or the starts of it yesterday. He finished third in the truck race and boy, he backed that up with
another top five and they kept getting starting up towards the front with the metric and being
a tougher to pass the north looks probably they certainly helped him, but he he stayed up there
and he was a face up there all night. Yeah, he's one of the only people that we saw
past Joey Logano tonight, even though Logano eventually got him back, but still one of six
cars on the lead lap. I think that was a very impressive thing. He did note afterwards,
he feels like him and his team stuff, one area they need to figure out that's intermediates.
They need to get better there if they're going to have a chance in the postseason. But I think
maybe they can make it through this. The other thing, it seemed like one match up in the in
season challenge was kind of a layup and the other one was going to be a battle for the
ages at the front of the pack. It very much did not end up the way anyone expected it.
Chase Elliott was running the top five, to be fair, but when he pitted and the caution came out
soon after Todd Gill and it stayed out and was still in the lead lap. Todd goes and gets a top
10 tonight. Chase could never get back on lead lap. Todd beats Chase Elliott. He is a huge upset.
He'll go race for a million dollars next week. Also, Ryan Blaney, Christopher Bell, Christopher
Bell had some break issues, had a lot of problems, did not do what we thought. And both of us,
you picked him for the win. I was going to before you picked him. And it just did not,
we did not see what we thought we were going to see out of Christopher Bell tonight. Ryan Blaney
almost gave that away as Joe Aguilaganos, the 22 holler giving us a good run on the way out.
So we thought, your Blaney kind of had it in the bag and then he gets a pit road penalty,
almost gives it up, but still manages to come back and end beat Bell for it.
Andrew, what do you make of this final battle of Todd Gill and Ryan Blaney and how they got there?
Well, I'm sure it wasn't the matchup winners that maybe some people were expected to come out
North Wilkesburg, but I'm sure Ford liked the outcome because it's going to be an all forward
final for that in season championship next weekend at Indianapolis. Again, big, big deal for Todd
Gill and that 34 front row bunch. It's just his second top 10 this season coming off a sixth at
Bristol back in April and you know, kind of falling that underdog arc that a tie Dylan
went through last year, ultimately falling to tie Gibson for now. We'll see if it's kind of similar
with Blaney this year or if Todd Gill and we'll complete the Cinderella run. We'll see. Absolutely.
And I feel like I haven't looked at the stats for, for Indy because I was so busy looking at the
stats for tonight. North Wilkesburg short tracks, but I want to say Todd had top 10 there last year.
So maybe it's not, you know, the layup for Blaney either. Maybe we'll have a good battle.
Either way, it'll be fun to see who walks away with a million dollars next week.
Lastly, let's, let's end it with a little playoff talk. Look, I'm sorry. I said playoffs,
the chase, the chase talk dollar, dollar in the jar, I guess. So as you mentioned,
Joey Logano gets back in SVG with his run tonight bumps his gap on the cut line up to 54 points.
That's pretty, pretty sizable. Eric Jones falls out just with only a couple of races left to go.
How do you think all this is going to shake out?
It's tough to say, Michael. It's tough to say just five races left, five different track,
several different track types in play within those five races. I will say after his San Diego
wreck, I was a little skeptical SVG with all the, all the elbows coming up, but he keeps
approving people wrong, keeps showing his approving on ovals. And I think he has enough
a buffer now to make it in. And like I said before, even near Joey Logano, I see him above the cut
line as well. So I think stay stas quo. Those two stay in, I think I could see that happening as
well. Cause I mean, look at us a three time champion. It's hard to count him out in these
circumstances. That's, that's all we're going to do for it. It's already pretty late.
Not as late as last week. That was an all time record, but it's still pretty late. I'm glad
we're done with this stretch of Sunday night races on TNT. TNT has one more race, but it won't be
at night because Indy doesn't have lights, but we'll throw it back to you, Eric, Andrew Stoddard,

after Northbrook Sparrow. We're still holding onto the top spot is Denny Hamlin, second Tyler
Redick, third Ryan Blaney, fourth Ty Gibbs, fifth Chase Elliott, sixth Kyle Larson, up one spot
Carson Josevar, two sevenths, up two spots, Chase Briscoe, to eighth, down two spots,
Chris Buscher to ninth, down one, C-Belt to tenth, 11th Daniel Suarez, 12th William Byron, 13th
Bubba Wallace, up one, Shane Van Gisburgen in 14th, who had SVG hanging around the chase
all this time, 14th, up one spot for SVG. He is fighting strong up two spots, Joey Ligano,
and then on the bubble, Austin Cindrick, who was down two spots. Now, chasing Cindrick for that
bubble spot would be Eric Jones in 17th, Ryan Priest in 18th, Brad keselowski at 19th, and
Michael McDowell in 20th. We might as well mention the 21st because he was a storyline this weekend
as well. In 21st place of the points is Ross Chastain. Ross had a rough weekend. His car,
along with a few other cars, had issues passing inspection. On Friday, however, Ross failed three
times and had to do a pass through penalty at the start of the race, which sent him
and his whole day back at the very beginning of the race. Taking a look at next weekend,
the NASCAR Cup Series is headed to Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the running of the Brick
Yard 400, where we will not only see which driver will kiss the bricks.
We will also see the conclusion of the NASCAR in season challenge, which will see Chase Elliott versus
Todd Gilliland. Those two drivers are the final two standing in the NASCAR in season
challenge. Whoever defeats the other driver next Sunday will take home a cool 1000000 dollars.
Chase Elliott versus Todd Gilliland will be very, very fun to see. And that's it for the scoop.
