Hey everybody, how's it going?
Welcome to another edition of the Subi Scoop, hope everybody is doing well.
We are almost done with February, we're already two months into this year, that's crazy.
It's time is going by too fast, I must say.
But I guess there's nothing we could do about that, just enjoy the ride, huh?
So I don't have a whole lot to report with this edition of the Subi Scoop,
but before I get into what I am going to talk about, be sure to go check out the Dirt Subis
podcast. It is my buddy Ben, he also runs the account Lifted Subarus, and he has a website
and it's Lifted Imports. He's also the one that does the cool Game Boy
units where you can track your speed. So go check out LiftedImports.com. But yeah,
be sure to go check out the Dirt Subis podcast, he releases episodes every other Wednesday,
and he's been doing a great job getting some really, really great guests.
And again, his is a little bit, his is formatted a little bit differently than mine, but a really,
really great show. Go check it out. I mentioned on the episode last Monday that I got my new tires,
my Milestar Patagonia AT Pros, and those have been working out really well. I mean,
everybody needs tires for their cars, and again, I needed something that was a little more affordable,
but I am actually really, really happy with them. If I wasn't in a position to where I had to look
for something that was more affordable, then I would have just gone with the Toyos again.
And of course I would have been happy, but doing something different and new is, can always be
good. I, and I really, really like the, the aggressive and beefy look of the Milestar Patagonias.
They look really, really nice. Like, I, I wasn't thinking like, oh, I'm not going to like these
because they're not Toyos and I've been going with Toyos. I kind of didn't really have any
expectations just the fact that I need new tires. I need them to be more affordable. And so I got
those. But again, there's not really, I mean, I haven't noticed any more road noise than I had
with the Toyos. And, and I like a little road noise. Makes it sound like a real rig to me.
But yeah, I really like them. So if you've, if you've considered them, then I would consider
getting them. And I would, I don't know. I mean, after this set, I might end up getting them again,
just because I like the way they look so much. And, and I haven't had a chance to really test
them off road yet, but I'm hoping to do that soon. We might be going to Cheeseburger Loop this weekend,
but I'm not sure yet. I think I may have mentioned last Monday on the episode with Nina,
another green outback, that the Milestar Patagonia AT Pros are rated at 55,000 miles,
and the Toyos are rated at 65,000 miles. However, it looks as though, and I, when I was talking to
Milton about the Milestars, I believe that the tread depth is deeper on the Milestars than on
the Toyos. And just from looking at them, because I still have my Toyo fifth, fifth tire and wheel
up on my roof rack, because I still needed a full size spare, and I'll switch it out for
a Milestar at some point. But it looks like the Milestars have a deeper tread, so that's good.
I mean, maybe they will last me just as long as the Toyos did. I guess we'll find out,
but I'm excited that I have them on there, and again, that I really like them. I was chatting
with somebody earlier today. It is somebody that was a previous guest on the podcast,
and I asked this person if they would be interested in coming back onto the podcast
as a return guest, because I mentioned that I would like to get some more returning guests on
the podcast this year, and that person said yes, absolutely. And they also feel like they have
more to offer, more to talk about. They've had more experiences. They know more people.
They kind of feel like they know what they're doing a little bit more,
and so I'm excited to talk to this person. I'm also going to be recording in mid-March
with another brand. It's been a while since I've had a brand on, it seems like,
so I'm going to record with another brand, and this is a very, very well-known brand in the community,
and a lot of people have utilized this brand, and I'm really, really excited about having them on.
I've also met them in person, which is really cool. It was throughout my Overland Expo experience
last year, so I'm excited to get them on and hear their story, and just talk to them more,
and get to know them a little bit more, because most likely, I will see them this next year
at Overland Expo, so I'm excited about that. Speaking of Overland Expo, if you've gone to
Overland Expo and you look at the schedule or the title sponsors for 2026, Subaru is a title
sponsor again for 2026, so I'm excited to say that they will be there again, and so will I.
At least that's the plan, so I'm looking forward to Overland Expo again this year. I had such a
great time last year getting to meet so many people, and getting to meet some different brands,
and vendors, and meeting some of the people from Overland Expo and G6, which they were the ones
that participated in the Subaru booth, and putting that all together, so I'm really, really excited
to be out there again. However, for me, the same as last year, I will not be at SoCal just because
it's coming up really soon, and I'm not able to make that event, but I am planning to be at the
other four locations, which is Flagstaff, PNW, Colorado, and Virginia. So, if you're able to
attend Overland Expo this year and any of the locations, come out and check out the booth,
check out all the people from Subaru, see who the booth cars are going to be, and just see
what it's going to look like. I'm curious to see what it's going to look like this year,
if they're going to be doing it a lot different, or if they're going to keep it pretty much the
same and just tweak a few things here and there. Either way, I'm excited, and I am very, very glad
that Subaru is participating again. That's really, really good news. And while we are on the topic
of Subaru, go check out Subarugear.com and browse the whole site. They have so many great
merchandise items in the site. You can go to all the different collections. Of course, if you click
on new, you will see all of the new items that they have added. Also, be sure to go check out the
sale tab, because not only will they have items that are discounted, but those items are not
going to be available at Subarugear.com anymore. So when you see the sale items, they're going to
be going away. So if you see something that you really, really like, get it right then, because
if you say, oh, I'm not going to get this right now, maybe I'll hold off for a bit,
and then you come back a week later, two weeks later, maybe even the next day, it might be gone,
because however many items they have left, or however many, whatever the quantity is that they
have left of that item, they're going to sell it until they sell out, and then it's gone. But even
when browsing the rest of the site, if you see something you really, really like, I recommend
just going ahead and getting it, because you never know when it may not be there anymore.
There are some things that I have seen on there that I like, there's this one hat that I have that
was my favorite hat. And I really, really, I really wish they still had it, but they don't, because
it's only there for a certain period of time. Not everything is there for the same length of time,
but if they still had this one hat, I would go buy it again, because it was my favorite hat,
I absolutely loved it, and it's no longer available. And it's really worn out, so I don't wear it
anymore, because I don't want it to get completely worn out. But again, if you see something, go put
it in your cart, and when you're there, you can save 20% on your purchase by using the code
SUBINDU2026. If the total of your purchase in your cart is over $50 after the 20% discount,
you automatically get free shipping, which is really, really great. So go check it out,
browse the site, fill up your cart, save some money. Thank you so much, SubaruGear.com for
sponsoring the SUBI and new podcast. Also, if you have not done so, go check out the SUBI and
you YouTube channel. I have, it's been going slow. I've been adding some things here and there,
but my goal is to try to get more stuff up there. I've been putting some car content up there
lately, because it's not just about the podcast. I'm putting stuff up there, like with my car.
I'm going to be putting videos up there from the Overland Expo events. I put a couple of them
up there from last year. I need to go back and add the other ones, but I got my page started,
or my YouTube channel started so late after all of those things that I just haven't gone back to
add them in. So I'm trying to do things more real time, but I would very much appreciate a subscribe,
if you would go and subscribe to the YouTube channel. But that's it for this edition of
the SUBI scoop. Thank you so much for tuning in and giving it a listen. And I hope you all have
a wonderful week. Much SUBI love. Wrath.
