Hello, Riz. How are we?
Hey Tom, Joey, Roland going well. I don't know what happened there. I thought, you know, it was Sydney that was having trouble
East is having similar problems today
Yes, I was just sharing with the crew that this photo is to prove that all four of us were in the same room at the same time
And it's definitely not AI. Trust me. This this happened yesterday. We have multiple witnesses that verify our
You know our company so to speak

Let's kick off the show. I was just going to point out one thing actually
Just here we go Scotty. Thanks very much for years as a member. So thank you very much for supporting the channel Scotty much appreciate it
Alrighty so big show like I said, but before we do that, we're gonna start the show with a very special edition of spectre watch
You've seen spectres being spotted
Here in there at Hawk, but have you ever seen two spectres spotted in on the same street?
So there's one specter. This is probably Riz's
And then look at this two specters. There we go. There's one there
That's the same specter. We saw earlier and another one here in this corner here
So two specters on the same street. This must be your street Riz in Victoria. Oh, it really is now
I don't know if you guys have heard but I've started a new club. It's
Rocker Rolls Royce owners Club of Australia and when we meet we don't meet on the same side of the street because there's a code
If two of us in the same place
Then you know something's gonna go down
So that's why the code is I park mine on one side of the street and the other member of rocker parks on the other side of the
Street, that's how we know that's how we have our meets
That's our rolls. Literally
Eat your heart out Tucker rocker is here. It's gonna take over your neighborhood
And thank you to Gary for sending those photos in as well
These honest viewers know these were spotted in South Yara a very nice town as per my understanding
All right, so a bit of a trigger warning tonight lots of Tesla news to start off the night
So we talked about Tesla Model Y L last week
Spotted on Rollins 80 yards
but
Tonight we can present to you the fact that they've actually been spotted in Sydney believe it or not and Melbourne as well
So Roland these were spotted. I believe this is an Alexandria
Looks like Alexandria from that photo. Yeah, that I grabbed. Yeah, that one looks like Alexandria and
Yeah, the other ones were Melbourne the ones on the top down below
But yeah, I did I did do the register
I mean you can tell it's a it's a bigger recorder, but you know got a request for the people
It's got a big booty, so that's good. Yeah, look chances. I have it's wrapped the Tesla
It's gonna be a model YL at this stage of the game
And you're all spotted as well in Melbourne's look bring these photos that mix spotted in Victoria Parade in Melbourne
Let's have a look. There we go
Clearly a model YL you can see the triple Y at the back there on the trailer
Yeah, and I think this is quick silver probably
Looks like it's the gold whatever they call their gold color which is only available in the model YLs at the moment in China
Gold of course has to be gold
Yeah, what the hell I like that now. Absolutely
And yep another drinking game tonight every time I say booty except
Yeah, so that's good. I mean that's um, you know Tesla themselves released a press release this week actually
No sort of hard concrete details except to say yes, it's confirmed coming to Australia in the sixth seat of variant
It's I think hundred seventy seven millimeters longer than the current existing model Y
Yeah, and I think you know, I'm no pricing yet
But I think it'd be quite compelling gents and ladies on on the model YL
What do you enjoy what what this could possibly undercut all the six seven cities have sat in
So far the Hyundai. Yeah, I think it's just a
It's not as popular here as it is in China
Like you've got a lot of these kind of cars like six Cedar or seven Cedar cars, but you don't really see them here
Yeah, I don't know why they're not that popular. Yeah, not yet. Anyway with house prices in Sydney Melbourne
The way it is might not be able to move out of home very shortly
Roland, I mean, what do you think pricing wise give us a wild step? We always play these games at these motor shows, right? How much I
Think it's gonna be ten above the current long range
Ten thousand above so I
Think it was roughly the eighty five
Month off the top of my head. I need to look at what the retail price is now. I think it was like 65
75
or something is 58
68 and
90
Yep in my head. Yeah in my head. I was referring to a driveway. So yes, so I was thinking it's
6890 for the long-range oil life, so I think it's gonna be around
78900
Okay. Yep. That makes it way cheaper than like the Volvo EX90, isn't it? Yeah, and even the Kia Indy 9
Yeah, and I got like nine so on and definitely the Zika 7 Zika 009
Yeah, I mean as
Has raised says it's a it's a contender for the Kia Carnival King
Crown for sure. I think if I can get it at that price as Rollins suggests
Yeah, and Charles agrees it's probably 10k on top of the top of the long range
So, I mean surely surely they'll release this as a dual motor to start with. I would have thought I
Think it's only available as a dual only only only dual motor. Yeah, ADR was dual motor only
But then remember overseas the normal motorway
They're releasing the real drive. So is that potentially something that's
Signs to come. So if you only want to all drive, you can only get the YL. Don't know
Mm-hmm
Yeah
I mean obviously the big test is how comfortable those third row seats, right?
You're having the center portion removed. It'd be much easier to get in and out
But sitting in that third row long long distance. I guess we'll have to do that test eventually
Ah, yeah, that's good. I mean, that's good. That's probably
That'll be good for that six seven Cedar market
and Rahul used to join our show a couple of years ago has
Just retweeted this from Sawyer also spotted around Melbourne to looks like
So yes doing the rounds there
That's pretty quick guys. Isn't it like, you know, we only there's only rumored a few weeks ago now. They're in the country
That's like really quick
Do I say China time?
Yeah, very good. All right, we'll keep an eye on those those cars. Hopefully they'll be released to Preston
Hopefully released to the public for test drives very shortly
Let's take some comments from the crowd here so
Yeah, is asking any chance of the Mahindra XTV 9S 7 Cedar being launched here. Where is?
Not too sure actually. I know Mahindra has been
Selling a few models that are quite popular particularly the smaller SUVs. So
Yeah, could be on the cards if we are one of their major international markets. I
Thought I saw Mahindra today possibly. I don't know. Maybe I
Had to double take I wasn't sure
But yeah, have you any of you sat in the Mahindra yet? We'll driven one
Sat in one in at the Melbourne Motor Show last year. It was there more affordable
I think under $25,000 SUV they were launching but ice product at the moment
Felt all right. I mean like they are obviously a global
Vehicle manufacturer now. So, you know, so quality is definitely
Worldwide sort of automotive great. So yeah, they seem to be selling quite a few. So they're popular
Interesting too guys, obviously, you know the launch that we went to yesterday. It's a zoo key that the event are is actually built in India
So yeah, bucking the trend there with Chinese made cars
Just just on pricing speculation obviously they didn't announce the price. Let's go around the room here
What do we think? What what must this car sell out to be anywhere near as compelling as some of the other things cars
Are you asking? What do we think they're gonna sell it for or what do we let's do both?
Because I think there's a difference between
My prediction of what the price is gonna be versus what I think it should be you go first
Like what why do you reckon they'll actually release of hatch versus what you think it should be okay
I think it's gonna have the typical Japanese price premium on it
So it will actually be more than the Chinese cars, but I think it should be the other way around I
Think it should be like competitive with the add-on to and I don't think that's gonna happen
I don't see what 35 is it starting at their belts
Before on roads, yeah 31 990 as a starting for around 34,000 drive away. Yeah
Yeah, yeah, and also we can't talk about the driving pressures. That's still under embargo
But we can talk about things like this speculation about pricing
So either you reckon what price premium on top of the I think it's gonna be a 40 to 50
Okay, okay, Roland thoughts
You bet on yeah, I'm with joy. So the price I would like is I would like to see
Low to mid 30s as the entry spec which means mid to high potentially for the drive away cost
but I think if they are going to even do like a
Introductory special, I think you'd be lucky to even see it under 40. I think it's gonna be like low 40s at
cheapest yep
Riz
How do you compete with the dog friendly Jku J5 EV that is the benchmark in my opinion for a car like
Those smaller SUVs that are too, of course, as joy said a great car
I think it's it's it's all somewhat be buddies is delivering for the price. They're asking
But yeah, if Suzuki wants to be sort of somewhat competitive, they've got it's got to be under 40
And if they're serious about some volume because they need to sell some electric cars to
I guess meet their NMEs sort of targets
So they've got a price it similar, but I guess the thing we did see yesterday was the the Vittara hybrid
Was just shy of $40,000 drive away. So if the hybrid is just shy of $40,000 drive away, then
They would it would still have a little bit of electric premium. So maybe 43 grand 44 grand is what they may ask
Yep, yep, I have to agree with all of you actually
I think personally, I think it'll be yeah low 40s is what they'll start out for the for the front-wheel drive version
And then the all-grip by the way, it's the cool all-grip with the dual motor
Quite a nice thing. Uh, yeah, probably closer to 50. All right, again, unfortunately
Now as a counter to your jku-j5 is we've got the elite motor beat here at the moment
I must say that's my new favorite in that segment. So we'll do the full review with with joy on the channel. So
Stay tuned for that. Uh, yeah, lots of lots of compelling cars and that's very special
Uh, all right, let's uh, let's get some comments here. So yeah, $21,990 wouldn't that be nice if the ebatara was $21,990
That would just clean up that field, right?
Then you'll be like the Suzuki Swift. You'll just see them everywhere. Yeah, exactly
Uh, yes, um, and
Right, so we thought we should talk about this as some commentary about the x-pang at the moment in Australia. So
Yes, uh, hk unfortunately has some serious problems in Australia. Very sad
Uh
And what's going with x-pang? I asked pdob. Yeah, and delaying the launch of the g6. Unfortunately
It's in New Zealand as we know already the new g6. So we're just waiting for it here in Australia
Um, don't know guys. I mean, I don't think there's any anything public said yet about x-pang
So we can't I guess we can't
Mention anything too much, but I I have heard on forums that there are delays in getting parts for service at the moment
So if you anyone else in the comments knows more let us share with us or put it on the screen
It's a shame though because it is still a very good car the g6
I'd love to see the new g6 here, right?
Can't let the kiwis beat us on that front. We need to get these cars here
Uh, it's only down says back on the ebatara has to be under 40k if you want to sell any I agree with you
And just I guess with the interior, I think being the interior snob here
Like it's it was a hard pill to swallow, right?
I'm sure is a roll and agree with me having been spoiled by some of the chinese
Brands with their interior. It just felt a little bit
Generationally a little bit behind am I being too snobby here or you guys agree from yesterday's launch
Tom go ahead. Tell us more. Tell us what you really think
I've said what I think
Some people like it to look old-school though. So I think it does
It does suit, you know, like for some people who kind of want their car to be like
What they remember from 20 years ago, then it's like, oh, like this is a car, you know what I mean? Like
I know there was one part when I was driving the hybrid and I and I had to
Change the gear shift down and then pull up the handbrake and I was like, oh my goodness
This brings me back. So, you know, I guess
For that some people might like that pulling the handbrake on the hybrid. That was actually quite nice
Just to stop the car. It was a nice apart. It brought me back
I forgot there was a handbrake. So I'll admit I was the person that just stepped on it. I planted my foot and he just went
That doesn't surprise me wrong that you don't you forgot the handbrake was there
Oh
But on a serious note, come on. Come on. I can't be the only one to thought that right this
There is the Chinese of the sport is with their interiors, haven't they the last five years like that's
You drive the bz-4x the Subaru Saltero
Even the Nissan ios to some extent it's just even the vw's I'll go vw's right the interiors just don't quite stack up at the moment
And the Japanese I think they need to play a little bit of a catch up, right? I'm gonna say it there
But
Some people just don't want to feel like they're sitting in a computer. Yeah, well
Okay, fine
um
Yes, what about the interior? Well, I said the interior there. It's important. You're gonna drive in this thing every day. It's really important to me
um
Did you read about one of the legacy motors having a patent as a manual gearbox for an ev what?
Yes, I think it was to her
That's it. Okay
This a couple of years ago. They were talking about it
Yeah, the the stalk is not good enough for some people, right all the little twisty knob in some cars you need to actually shift
To feel old school. Okay. Maybe that might sell more cars. I don't know. I have to say I am not a fan of the twisty knob like I'm like
I
I don't mind like a toggle like that like if it's on the gear shift, but
Definitely not a scream
Someone in the comments is going to say well now you can twist the wheel and it's fine and to be honest
We've had the model wife the last week and I'm sort of getting used to the fact that you can twist the wheel and it'll shift the
Car from drive to reverse and vice versa automatically. That's yeah, it takes a little more to get used to but it's not too bad
Uh
Okay, so we should probably talk about this because this is quite topical the moment
So low cost secondhand evs getting a big leg up if your price was gop with the war in iran and middle east
so
I think that's that's probably a reasonable. I mean, look, it's it's the obvious step, right the next step
High fuel prices
Evs surely will be in the front of some people's minds
Um in the next six months or phvbs or phvbs. Yep. Yeah
Um, there's definitely data on this. I was gonna ask you like with the war in ukraine
You know couples that's the one going but like three years ago four years ago when it all happened
Energy prices went up. Do you have data on whether tesla sales went up at that time or?
Well, when the war in ukraine happened
uh tesla sales in europe fell
uh for various different reasons
Uh, obviously last year was the worst of them in terms of how badly they fell
um
So that's a little bit harder to say what we did see in covet was when the there was a truck driver shortage
In europe and uk in particular. There were really really long queues
for people to get petrol
And that made you know media headlines and people said well, we thought evs were gonna have long queues for charging
But it was the other way around so
petrol prices went up and
Ev sales died to go up and they haven't come back down. I think last month they were
20 over 24 percent of all
vehicles sold in the uk were
battery electric people
so
Yeah, I mean they do have an impact at least if nothing else
There is quite a lot of coverage of this type of topic in the mainstream media, which obviously perks people's ears up
I was asked by abc radio today about the same thing and I said to them
well
Yeah, that's um, there's that but also price parity
The technological shift that we're seeing the range has gone up. There's more charges around the place
um, all of those factors
But we're just getting people to pay a bit more attention that electric cars are there as an alternative
Whether it means that you know use dvs are going to jump up in price. It may happen
um, but we saw that for used cars in covet
But I think there's a lot of supply now
Given the number of brands models and things we speak about
That it's unlikely going to have an impact on
Used ev prices going through the roof anytime soon when you can buy a new ev
These days four under 30 grand
Yeah, don't forget in 2022 when the war in ukraine broke out
By dl only just launching australia. So it was a definitely a different world back then four years ago
So we have as we know the regular viewers of this show will know that there are plenty of brands to choose from now
So lots more segments to fill all they have to use down to the other one many lambo
So yeah, lots more choice for everyone now too, which is good. Look, I know obviously being eb owners is great
Not having to fuel up but yes
obviously
Logically the price of the cost of living is going to go up regardless with with your prices going up, unfortunately
Yeah, and it's it's not so much like the cars themselves. I think it's just everything right like every everything that gets
Moved around in australia is generally on the back of a truck and they're not going electric anytime soon from the looks of things
So all those prices the diesel and everything else that they consume will be passed on to the supermarkets who as we know
Uh are not generous enough to not pass it on to us
So we will all see it one shape way or form
Yep, agreed, but it is nice not having to to feel up at the stage seeing two dollars 20 and so on
Just the e-10 just on our regular petrol stations here. Not good
I don't know. I think we'll go up to three bucks if this goes on honestly
I agree. Yeah
Yep
Uh, here's a question. All right throwing to the floor
Question for us if you could have any EV currently for sale in australia
Apart from the Rolls Royce Ruiz, which you already have
What would it be? We'll start with Roland. Which one is it?
Is it my money or am I spending so well for the money? Do we have a budget?
If it's a rolling stick
If I could have any car purely because it's like a wagon shape
Porsche Taycan Costa Rismo
I think that is one of the best-looking cars out there. Would I ever buy even if I could afford it? Absolutely not. That's nuts
Hopefully not. Maybe if the car still works in like, I don't know how many years depreciation
But for a everyday car
If I had to be more realistic
I think I would
put
Probably two key cars. I would put a model y there purely because of the space
and
Zika 7x
Very good
That choices. Yep. I like your Costa Rismo. Definitely. I see that every time I see it. I have to double take
Riz
Yeah, look that's a tough question. I mean
There's so many so many options right now
All different sort of price points. I like the way
cars handle
Um, and you know to be honest even in 2026, I'll have a very very boring answer
It would be the model three performance
still
The way that car handles there is nothing else. Uh, yes, Roland, you're right
The the Taycans definitely I've driven the gts and the turbo gt and they are really really good lovely cars
Um, I just can't justify spending money to build auto barns
So, um, and the Porsche premium that comes with it. Um, but yeah, for me, it will be the model three performance
Joyce
Can I sort of
Say it's like if it looked like the x-peng on the outside and on the inside
But it drove like the model y performance and that would be oh
Yeah, so homo's car like it's the conglomerate. Yes, the conglomerate. Yeah, because I I still like to sit high
Yeah, okay. Um, yeah, okay
I actually really like just
Like I said, I'm very I've said this many times on all of the videos. I'm very shallow
So if the car looks really nice on the outside and it looks nice on the inside
Um, I'm already in a good mood. So that's that's all it
You know, you're like 90 of the way there if if um, it looks, you know
If it's a smile on my face when I see it like even when I see an x-peng on the road
I squeal because it just looks so cute. I'll always and then the kids will be like, oh my goodness
like she's
Squealing again because there's a
You know, there's a cute looking x-peng car going along on the road. So yeah, nice
Uh, I'll finish up with uh, okay, so I'm I'm still the interiors from not here being the oldest here
I think I'm the oldest um, so I I've I've not felt so as serene as I have been
As the dual motor performance pole style for with the gold sash
So that's the one I would want every day with the Harman Kardon speakers
I can just play my soppy music and just enjoy the very plush ride and just sail through sydney streets
None of the care in the world. So that's the one I would want
If I had the money and uh, yeah, I like the white handles. I like the suspension. It's just built perfectly
The software. Okay. I'll agree. It's probably not as good as say some of the brands
But uh, it's it's a compromise. I'm willing to accept. So I mean, that's that's my deal
I will not cut like for me the tech has to be
Yeah, it's fair. They got four different answers. Yeah, that's fine
But uh seven gt maybe the zika seven xg the zika seven gt might might sway me
So we'll see once that arrives
Uh, yes, so much choice so much choice, isn't it? It's great
A good question though, uh
dwa great great. We should probably answer that every month just to see what what changes
so, um
Speaking of what changes have a look at this. So this byd blade 2.0 demonstration
Is ice dead 10 to 70 in five minutes. Boom. That's quicker than number one
That's incredible 10 to 97 in nine minutes quicker than number two
20 000 flash charging stations in 2026. This is absolutely incredible
Uh, look, I know this is like obviously like borderline prototype, but just to show that this can be done, right deal guns
Uh charging a car that quickly just to show the people who are skeptical about evs that it really can be done one day
so
Yeah, it's good to see
That's like petrol timing basically, isn't it like
Except you don't have to stand there. You can get back into the car. Yeah, I'll don't tell the folks at Toyota
Remember those ads were the guys standing at the car charging his car
A few years ago. What wasn't at the last uh, liberal's election campaign
with Dutton in front of a turd are filling up
um
This is pretty cool tech. I followed the flash charging first version of it. That was cool. This is
Even better in many many ways
um
Um
They announced 11 models
I touched on it in the live live stream last week that they're going to be talking about some interesting stuff
and it was way more than even what
Most people were expecting blade
battery 2.0
I love the way these charging stations
are set up
The gantry with the sliding cable
um, we always talk about how heavy cables are
problem solved
It's uh, also, it's basically like Tesla. You'll plug it in and it will start charging
So they've solved that problem as well
um, and yeah 20 000 of them each one of these stations will be backed with a
200 to 300 kilowatt hour
uh, by the battery pack
That's how they're able to get the speeds that they can get up to 1500 kilowatts
At each gun so you don't need dual gun charging
It's at each one of those guns
11 models they unveiled
um, including the thai 7 the function bow thai 7
That is i'm really excited about that car because that is an off-roader
Um, they had the silo 7 which in austrian dollars
Costs under 35 000 austrian dollars
Now these are not, you know, like the the thai 7 is out of reach for a lot of people
but
The silo 7 and the c-line 06 that they also showcased
Are under 35 000 and song I'll try things under 30 000. So these are no longer
Premium cars that can charge that fast. So very very cool take and it's for the mass market
I mean look at these charging times right like five minutes sub five minutes sub nine minutes
With respect to 10 to 70 and 10 to 90 10 to 97 percent
That's absolutely incredible. And that's how I can do it in the cold. Uh, yeah, that's right
I mean, it's a little bit slower, but do you remember that time we were in? Um, where were we? Oh colorado? Yeah minus 15 degrees
Sounds like an hour I think to charge slows right down
Uh, yeah, charles makes a good point
You would actually have to stand there because it would be so quick. You have to be ready to move away to not receive idle fees
It's a good point for anyone that's interested. Check out byd's vapor page. They had a three and a half minute ad
Talking about all the things you can do and in one of the ads they show a lady pull up in her thai 7
Uh, she
Plugs it in it's so easy and they also show what she had to do before this charging
Which it looked like she was lifting dumbbells
That's how heavy the charge ports were
And then she plugs it in and then she comes and sits inside the car and she starts to put on makeup
And by the time she's put on makeup the car is done charging
So then she walks back out
And they also show she doesn't have to do any heavy lifting anymore with the other charging cables
So really really cool ad they're trying to showcase even things like um, even the winter bit
They show that there's this couple freezing inside a car
And they plug the car in and they get back inside the car and it says it's going to take like over an hour
And they're going to freeze there, but then they come up to these flash charging stations
It's going to be like for nine minutes or 12 minutes. Whatever they say
It's um pretty funny stuff. So a lot of real world applications
Yeah, I mean look we just need more charges in Australia, but this hopefully is a reality in in my lifetime surely
Like 10 years maybe we'll see well in the past. I think it feels like maybe it's longer
Six months ago. It definitely was last year where we only hit one megawatt charges
And it was dual guns. So you look at it now
You've got single guns that do even quicker
So we'll we'll be in six months
China time. Yep China time. Yeah, absolutely incredible. Yep. Thank you
Um, you speak about cars that you wish you had like the denser z9 gt. That's another one. That's another nice one
But we uh, love to have especially big in charge like quickly five minutes
It's good
Um
Yeah
It's very very fast in that
Well, hopefully byd will roll at least some of their charges out here in Australia. So
Keep an eye on that
Uh, all right, let's uh move on a more news from another chinese brand zika
Now zika we talked about model y claiming the car of the year
from drive last week. So zika seven x
Claims top spot in february 26 vfax premium svv segment for the over 65 000 dollar segment
There you go. Well done zika
Uh, and they're also delivering cars as well, which is good and on the back of that
So zika now unveiling the all-new seven x black edition
um, and for another 3000 bucks on top of the
Uh all drive already you get pretty much all black as the name suggests on x gloss black exterior front and rower
Front sorry front and rear lower bumpers in gloss black
Lower door exterior trims in gloss black roof rails black wheels black badge black napper
It's all black. Once you go black batman spec. Yep
Well, one thing they don't mention in their press release, which would be interesting to see
Is if if if the power train remains the same as a performance or wheel drive
But it's sitting on 20 inch wheels instead of 21 inch wheels
Will it get more range?
Yeah, the the black the black. Hmm. It should right theoretically. Yeah, so that's that's going to be interesting to see we
Oh, well, I think the configurator is up now. I didn't get a chance to look at it
I think it was going to be 7 p.m. Or something
But yeah, we will investigate and see if it gets more than I think was 547 kilometers of wrtp range that
The 21 inch wheel equipped performance or wheel drive got
Hmm
Yeah, I don't mind a black car. Like they're very nice
A bit hard to keep clean sometimes, but nice to look at when they're fresh and clean
I've owned a model 3 black. It's nice not right up
Yeah, so we'll see we'll see how many how many these are solders keep keep it on
And one last thing according to zika themselves
They reckon that this is on the back of what they've been
listening to their customers and
People that are interested in buying a 7x what they would like to see or what else they'd like to see aesthetically
And apparently this variant is on the back of what they've learned from their owners in international markets
Okay, very good. Good to see them. Listen to feedback
All right now
From zika to bmw. So
Uh now join i've seen the new like the way classa in melbourne and riz has to as well
Uh, so no price when we did those videos, but now bmw have said 109 thousand nine hundred dollars recommend the retail
Apparently this includes luxury car tax as well
um
and gst
So probably 120 odd drive away. So we went too far for the market. We uh, guess the price
Back in
more grave
When we did that walk around
Yeah, really surprises with that with that price
No, I think it's pretty much up there. It gives them room to be able to launch
Other models that may come under the luxury car tax
You know and and who knows by the time those models come out whether we'll have the
Fbt exemption in the way we know it today
With that sort of high 91 or thousand dollar cap
But if it does then they've got a model under that 90 000 because the current ix3 the last generation
They are believed to have a variant that sits under that 90 000 dollar price point
Um, so that will help a whole lot more people
Um get into one. So yeah, this price is pretty good for the
For the tech you're getting in that car from a german brand made in europe
But that ix3 you're talking about is uh, I assume it's an entry level ix3, isn't it like a single motor? Yeah
So this 109 is actually the top spec the rolling spec ideal motor
etc, etc
Top range
The works so, you know, there may be one about this
There may be one about this. We don't know which is you know, like black all bmw
There's always an m spec 60 or the m spec. Yeah
That is the true rolling spec when that happens
Uh, but but no it for the time being this is sort of this is what they're launching globally
Yep, yep
So yeah, maybe the uh, the single motor spec might come under the lct. We'll see
Hmm still 805 k's will give it to give it a test I guess
Um, potentially just the one stop Sydney and melbourne. Maybe even no stops if we go slow enough
How do I slow on the bmw right? That's just not just not bmw. It's no such thing. Oh, I don't and make sure you don't indicate
That's right
Uh, you know a driveway price in perth 124 800 you change colors and add the m package reaches 135
Sweet spot for range is 500. Yeah. Yeah, maybe maybe even 400 for the city
Having said that this particular model the ix3 like
What has Audi or Mercedes got in this space nothing
Nothing with this sort of tech with this sort of
um
I mean, yeah, if we think about that car that I guess we saw
um
there's a lot in there um and
You know last time I think I drove the q6 s q6 e-tron that was
155 plus on roads
It's a lot of cash a lot of cash
seriously
Um
Yes, so
Now roland you said that the new bmw 3 series was spotted as well. I assume based on the annoy class of platform 2
Yes, yeah, that that platform is going to paint picture for I don't know. I'm sure they'll milk it
Right, they need to make their money's worth for getting a whole new architecture class
So it's based on the same thing
Question is when it comes out
Are they going to do the same thing as what they did for the ix3 just release a one high high spec variant and then see how they go
Yeah, one would think so right it's a common common strategy for a lot of these brands release that top spec first
There rumours going around. I think question that was asked
Uh around what car we would buy if it was available in australia
But there's rumours going around of a car that I might consider which is the m
Well the m3 equivalent
Whatever that's going to be called
And apparently it's quad motor
Sign me up
Yeah, so I think that
We'll hopefully hear a bit more. Uh, that was a bit of a tip that was given by
Uh, james one of our regular
viewers
That it's likely to be
Under people unveils shortly
So if it handles and drives like most bmw's and it's a sedan and it has quad motor type of power
Um, I think roll and roll order two on the live stream
And then back to sydney motorsport park straight after that
It it's definitely coming soon because I remember posting last year
There was quite a few spice shots of that car of the m3 electric whatever it's officially called
I'll have to think of another name, right the bmw fanboys will only help you with an m3 electric
It doesn't sound good is my opinion sounds odd
Let me turn the m like just 90 degrees anti clockwise. Just have an e
m turns on eb m3
Yeah m3 e m e. Yeah
Yeah, 250k. I yeah, you're probably not wrong michael with that kind of uh tech
I agree considering current m3 is bottom line 200. It is now. It's crazy and before you go
competition
Correct. Yeah, I'll buy for for roland at cosco. Yep
Um, at least 10 at least 10 of those m. Yeah
Yeah
And now this makes me happy this interior of the the new su7 new su7
This is my cup of tea right here. That looks really plush
See now this is the interior to look to write home guys come on after coming on the ebatara, please
Like this is what I'm used to now
I won't do that
Wow
That that is a plush ride
Yeah, not those boost buttons
See that brand came here that would sell like hotcakes. Yeah, that would be very close to my top of my list
The su7 the new su7
Very nice
How much realistically Riz will this sell for if this ever came to australia?
Uh the su7
um
See in china it's priced pretty close to the model three funnily enough like the the base models
Not the ultra
so
You know the the challenges we just don't buy sedans in this country anymore
so
You know given the volumes and if xiaomi used to bring it themselves and if it's just the market share grabbing exercise
Then they would price it
just a little bit above the
the
model three
We saw that with the zika 7x, you know price just a little bit above the model y
And it seems to be a good sort of spot that people are happy to pay for
So yeah, I mean I saw you know, you'll enjoy his video of these cars in china
You've sat in them. You've had a quick look around as well like
The interior wise my thinking is it's
Next level in terms of the interior quality and tom, you know interior is better than most of us. Oh, yeah
Yeah, yeah, why my inner snob was happy that day sitting in the su7 and the u7 in guangzhou
Yeah
You look like I think I think you're right
I think if this price is about model three people will go for it just because it's the value is right there definitely
um
Yeah, I mean they're probably having trouble fulfilling their own demand
Domesticly right in china. So there's no reason to come here just yet, but we'll see
Uh hk says both xiaomi cars are similar to zika prices in china. Yeah makes sense
Um Ioniq six n level uh, oh, okay
I will say that this year finally
Yeah
Yes, yes indeed
That that needs a track date rolling the six n
Yep
now, um
My poll star page is not loading. So just chat amongst yourselves while I reload this
I was going to talk about the fact that the poll star three
Now has a
800 volt architecture
so
Is it worth the exorbitant price tag now now that's 800 volts. That's the question
Uh, I I personally like the poll star four better, but I can see the appeal of the three like a more traditional suv shape
Let's let's talk about this car compared to the bmw that we just finished talking about. Thank you. Yes
Chalk and cheese in terms of the tech. I mean, yes, 800 volt is it's great
but
That 127 is that drivable?
Uh, that's the msrp. Oh, no, it is sorry. You're right. Yes 127 like drive away
So 127 drive away and let's say, you know the driveway of the um, um the bmw is 350 is
125 um way more power
um
way more range
and
Yeah, like it's
very different type of car
And that's dual murder as well the bmw
Yeah x50. This is real the real remurder is 127. If you want dual murder, it's actually 142
for equivalent expense
And if you want the gold sash the addition I did
So tom I did do the addition for the ix3 with all the options
So if you selected every single option you could pick on the ix3
Before on-road cost it is just under $134,000. So you got to add those on-road costs on top of that
That's not bad. Hey, that's not bad. Yeah for a bmw
Not bad
I mean, Roland, is there any other spec worth considering apart from everything, right? I mean, that's
It's gotta be
At the top and work your way down like if you don't tow or you're never going to tow throw that out you've saved $250,000
See if you're configuring the take-hand
Across charisma
Then you put every single option on and it starts at about you know 200 and about time you're done with it
It's about 450
And then you get turned off and then you're basically trying to want this
This is still too compared to the spectre gents ladies
Yep
Uh, I don't forget bmw. We're adding subscriptions for the seed heating a couple of years ago. I'm not sure that's still a thing
I'm sure
Yeah, all right, um
And speaking of luxury brands, so just sharing this quick story. Yes Porsche profits are dropping and that's no surprise I guess
98 percent according to this report
It's a lot of money
And
They do make nice cars though, that's one thing
And finally to finish the show off, uh, finally
Powerwall 2 is now compatible with power 3. I don't know why this took this long. I'm sorry. I'm just gonna go my ranty
Why didn't they do this from the beginning right instead of upsetting all these customers who had power or twos?
They should have done this from the very start and it's compatible
You would have you would actually gain a lot more market share tesla
Uh, instead of losing this to sick energy and all the other batteries on the market
Anything guys surely they should have had this from the very beginning
Yep, this is my two cents
Not sure what happened here because yeah, because you know, they're powerwall 2 owners
many of us
That were like, well, we don't know what's gonna happen
Will we have to go onto facebook marketplaces and find
Powerwall twos that people just want to upgrade to powerwall 3 and rip it off their
walls and bring it over who can do that what will happen
but um, yeah, but even then it's
Not still not a lot of clarity as to what this means like
What other things do we need to make that happen if you're a powerwall 2 owner?
and yeah, I mean
It's
I think you're right that they should have advertised that from the beginning
It's like when playstation
You know we're selling playstation twos. They were saying hey, we could play ps1 games on this
People like yeah, I love great now. I mean this is going back like 20 odd years
But that's that's what they should have done people would have been like, yeah, I'm gonna get a powerwall 3
um
It's it's it's almost borderline insulting because
You know if this is just a software unlock
Right when this three came out, we so many questions were asked that can this be compatible with two
And they kept saying no they kept saying no it's it cannot happen and then for this to happen like I'm sorry
I'm getting angry here like it's
I'm losing trust right
For this to just be a software thing they should have done this from the very beginning
They don't even need to have anyone come and install anything different in
Well, I mean the powerwall 2 as we said that the details are still to be noted out
But the press release said yeah, it was just a software issue that they can unlock now
That's pretty bad. It's pretty bad right at least pretend to have someone come over and like stick something there and go
Okay, now it's compatible and you know what I mean
Yeah, new gateway or whatever but yeah like to have absolutely nothing and to have it like as an over the year update
I think would cause a lot of people to be like hang on a sec
Yeah, because what else are they gatekeeping?
Yes
It's a it's a bit of a slap in the face
um
But I mean there's still real limitations, right? This is not a three phase product like thick and the other batteries on the market
So it's still a single phase product
Um, so if you want that then yeah, Michael looks no more else
um
Yes, unfortunately the powerwall 3 cannot go off grid through the app
Uh through the app powerwall 2 uses allows me to go off grid through using the app. I see. Okay. Thanks
Um
Yeah, it's look without selling too cynical. It is it is yeah, it's a bit upsetting being a formal powerwall 2
formal power powerwall 2
I'm trying to say power power power wall 2. Yes
You still got powerwall 2 right riz?
uh, yeah
Yeah, considering going to 3 with this news in light
well
I mean
Who knows I think one of my friends today got a powerwall 3 quote
Uh for about 12 grand
Which I think includes the government rebate and stuff. Um, yeah
I mean I would but of course the technology is changing so quickly, right like
I love the modular products like I mean, this is modular, but it's modular in 13 13 and a half kilowatt
increments
You know, why can't we just get another five kilowatts like, you know, so
There's a lot of changes. Um, but yeah, ideally
I'd add another one and I might just you know add two powerwall 3s
and
Try and figure out who on marketplace wants to meet me at a dodgy server
around the corner to pick up powerwall 2
so as you pick up
What about that street with the two specters world? That's that seems like about a safe street
It's it's it's it's exactly it is it is safe. Um, but yeah
Um, look, I think it's a lot of it's a lot of people around the country are thinking about the same thing
But then you hear things like, you know, see the energy being pretty reliable
Some people are saying foxy ss sun grow
And the list sort of goes on and you know, by the way, where do they sit in all of this because they've got their modular home batteries as well
so
supposedly or technically the safest plate batteries out there, so
lots of options
Yeah, I mean, I agree as well. I trick all these, um, brands who just cross
Platform compatible, right? I mean, there's just they're just electrons aren't like really
Sitting in the shell. So that would be nice, wouldn't it?
It's probably just a software thing, isn't it? You just do that if you really wanted to
Um, and yeah, the question is is it too late for this to happen? Have they lost too much marketry?
I don't know. I'm sure it's too late. I think probably better than late than never
But we're still still at early stage, right with all this battery adoption stuff
I know we've seen a huge search since the federal government
Grant but we're still at very early stage in the grand scheme of things
Um, so yeah, I mean anything's possible. But as we discussed, I think it was last week when Roland pulled up the
What I am was offering as part of an offer
You know, like Tesla if you're listening have been saying this to you guys for years
Like bundle up with a car like, you know, sell people the whole thing
Of all connector to power all, you know the car
Sell them as a package finance it together
And you know person will be really really happy because that's what you know
Um, that's the whole ecosystem
Tesla's previous mission
Not the not the mission about abundance, but previous mission was around sustainability. So
Yeah, the idea is here. I won't even trademark it. Just just take it and do it
And bundle optimus while you're there with the new
Even the mission as well, right cooks at least does everything for you. That's right
Okay, well, I think that's pretty much it for today. I've run out of articles this year, but um, yeah
Thanks for joining us everyone in the comments and audience. Thanks so much. We had I think 200 plus viewers at one stage live
So that's great. Thank you for sticking with us for this long
Uh, leave a comment if you're watching us on replay and also thank you for watching. I listened to us on the podcast as well
So, uh, let's uh, ask Reese. What have you got on for the rest of this week or next week for that moment?
I'm up in brisbane tomorrow. So I'll park my spectre at the airport
Then when i'm back and I'll have more to share where I am next week. So
And on our next episode of dragon ball. I mean the eb show
Always a man of mystery riz. I love it. Oh on the playstation right dragon ball
Well, are you rolling? What's up?
I've got something that your interiors love doesn't approve. I've got a subaru solterra
The new one
I've seen it
my tears not was not happy
Um, but it is an improvement. I gotta say. So I've enjoyed that as well with the drive quality at least
Uh, and as I said earlier, we've got um the leap mode of beat 10 as well. So that's uh, something we're looking forward to reviewing for you guys too
Alrighty, so until the next episode, which should be next week
Uh from rolling from riz from joy and from myself tom. Thanks for watching and we shall see you all
Next week on the show
Until then it's spy for now
Take it
You
