Welcome to Car Stuff, a production of iHeartRadio's How Stuff Works.
01:41
Hi, welcome to Car Stuff and I'm your host, Scott Benjamin, and for today, again, I'm
01:48
going to walk us through this one solo.
01:51
No guests today, nothing like that, but I wanted to talk about the Ford Ranger.
01:55
It's a Ford product that is coming back into its production line, and if you're living
02:00
somewhere outside of North America, that's really nothing new to you.
02:03
I mean, you've had it for quite some time, but here in the North America market, it's
02:07
something that has been gone for a significant amount of time.
02:10
Now, it's been gone at least seven years, maybe eight, it depends on when you're listening
02:14
to this, but it was in production here in the United States for a significant amount
02:19
And it just kind of went away.
02:20
It was around from about 1983, these are model years, 1983 until about 2011.
02:25
So that's right there.
02:26
That's 29 years of production, and for 2019, it's back, and it's going to be back here
02:32
in the US market, and it's, of course, had some facelifts along the way.
02:36
You know, I want to talk a little bit about the history of the vehicle as well as the current
02:41
vehicle, you know, like what you can expect to see on Ford showrooms very, very soon.
02:46
And cash, where should I start?
02:48
Actually, I'm going to start with a bit of a personal note, back in high school.
02:52
This would have been back in the late 80s.
02:53
I graduated in 1989, I had a friend, his name is Steve, and Steve owned a Ford Ranger
03:00
And I believe it was a first generation Ford Ranger pickup, I don't know what exactly the
03:04
model year was, but it had to have been closer to the 1983 version than it wasn't brand
03:11
It was silver, had a four cylinder engine, I know that, I'm trying to think of everything
03:16
I know about this thing.
03:17
It was very, very small.
03:18
It was a compact pickup back in the day.
03:22
That's changed for 2019, but again, back then it was a compact pickup.
03:26
We used it as a work truck, I believe it or not.
03:28
It was a daily driver for him, you know, two and from school, it was a good car to just
03:32
get back and forth from, you know, home to school and back and forth.
03:35
But we did use it as a work truck on many, many occasions, you know, either halt stuff in
03:40
the bed or we even had a trailer.
03:42
I mean, it was able to pull a decent sized trailer, lawn equipment and leaves and yard debris
03:47
and all that kind of thing.
03:48
Overall, it was really a solid little truck.
03:50
And if you look back at the first generation of Ford Ranger, that's the kind of I'm talking
03:56
The very first one with the square headlights, it's tougher to describe it more than
04:00
It's just a mini pickup, a small pickup, brother.
04:01
But there were several generations of these.
04:03
In fact, here in the United States, over those 29 years, the first generation was from 1983
04:09
And that's the one that, again, my front head.
04:11
Then there was a facelift that happened around 1989 to 1992.
04:15
They continued to sell the first generation, but it was just a little bit updated.
04:18
It had just a little bit more, I don't know if you might call it streamlining or what,
04:22
but there were some minor updates to the body.
04:24
The second generation came about in around 1993 until about 1997.
04:30
And then the third generation was from 1998 to 2000.
04:34
And then, of course, there was a facelift on the third generation as well.
04:37
So over time, they just tried to modernize these things with different trim packages, different
04:41
options, a little bit of exterior and interior changes and things that shifted around.
04:47
And then they began production in South America and some of these exports.
04:51
Now, the exports actually began in around 1995, I think, that's when Ford Ranger began
04:57
to be available in select Latin and South American countries.
05:01
So they started to expand, I guess, expand the horizons.
05:04
They allowed them to be purchased around the world and they have been in production ever
05:08
since, you know, a much larger scale than just here in the North America market.
05:12
But again, they're back here for 2019.
05:15
And there's several things, well, you know, let's talk just a little bit about the, I
05:20
guess, maybe the history of the Ford Ranger, the Ford Ranger nameplate, rather, because
05:24
this is not the first time in, you know, 1983, I guess, was not the first time when Ford
05:29
used the Ranger name.
05:31
And it might surprise you or maybe not, I'm not sure if you're a car stuff fan, you've
05:35
already heard about this.
05:36
But the nameplate was used on three different model lines of vehicles.
05:40
Now, of course, you know, the one that we're talking about, you know, the primary one here
05:43
is the Ford Ranger, the mini pickup truck or the compact pickup truck came about in 1983.
05:48
And that replaced a pickup truck that was called the Ford Courier here in North America.
05:54
And the courier was actually a Mazda rebadged Mazda B 1800.
05:58
So that was, that was being produced from 1972 until about 1982.
06:02
So for 10 years for that, when that's when Ford picked up the Ranger nameplate for this
06:07
compact truck, the other two places that it was used.
06:09
And again, this might not surprise you if you're a car stuff listener was in the, in 1958,
06:14
the Edsel Ranger was introduced as the base trim level of the Edsel model range.
06:18
And that was 1958 when that happened.
06:20
So Edsel Ranger was the first time that Ford used that name.
06:23
Between 1965 and 1981, Ranger was used to denote the different trim packages on the Ford F-Series
06:31
pickups, the full size pickups, as well as the Ford Bronco.
06:35
And the Ranger line actually served as the mid to top trim level for those vehicles.
06:40
So if you had a Ford F-Series that was a Ranger, it was either mid or top trim level
06:45
and same with the Ford Bronco.
06:46
And by the way, I've got not breaking news, but I mean, Ford, you know, the Ford Bronco's
06:49
coming back as well.
06:50
So that's going to happen in 2020, who knows maybe we'll, we'll put together a show about
06:56
And now that we're talking about the Bronco, I guess I should mention this too, is that
07:00
the new Ford Ranger is going to be manufactured at the Ford Michigan assembly plant in Wayne
07:05
Michigan along with the new Ford Bronco.
07:07
So right there at the same assembly plant, which is supposedly coming back in 2020, we'll
07:13
I mean, you know, I, you know, things happen.
07:15
But there is a kind of an interesting tie-in here to production, I guess, over the 29
07:20
years that it was produced here in North America, the truck was actually built on three different
07:24
Ford assembly plants or on different assembly lines.
07:27
And that's pretty unusual, usually a line or a model like that happens to be built in
07:33
They usually typically just keep it right there for the extent of it.
07:36
I mean, if it does move once, that's unusual, but to have three different assembly plants
07:39
for a small or compact pickup truck like that, that's pretty unusual for that to happen.
07:45
Just found that kind of interesting.
07:47
And you know what, we're going to have the rest after the break.

Now with all this talk about the new ranger, and we're going to get to that, the specs
10:01
and some of the information about it, and what makes it different or unique or interesting,
10:05
I still want to talk about the 1983 to 2011 Ford Rangers just a little bit.
10:10
They were extremely popular here in the United States, and a lot of people might wonder
10:13
why they even went away in the first place.
10:15
What was the problem?
10:16
Because they were top selling.
10:18
They were the leader in the market, I guess, for that size vehicle.
10:22
As far as sales go, a lot like the Ford F series, which has been what, decades of top selling
10:29
The 1983 to 2011 ranger, it was one of the most popular pickups on the road, but it disappeared
10:34
as the car company started to move toward oversized trucks, and then, of course, SUVs.
10:40
We've heard this story many, many times from different manufacturers.
10:43
They started to drop some of their smaller products.
10:46
They were the fuel efficient, smaller vehicles, and they were lightweight, and they had a lot
10:49
of features that everybody really liked and enjoyed, and they were top sellers, but they
10:53
had to make room for the production of some of these bigger SUVs, bigger pickup trucks.
10:58
People wanted the bigger vehicles, and this is back when fuel prices were at an all-time
11:02
low, and back to that idea that excessive weight and size didn't matter at that time,
11:08
but then we've pulled that back a little bit, a couple of times here and there, and it's
11:13
just going through these different fluctuations where people want different things at different
11:16
times, and Ford just gave up on the ranger at a certain point in 2011, but not entirely.
11:21
As I said, they started those exports that went to South America, Argentina, Latin American,
11:27
the Latin American ranger, which was around for some time, the global ranger, I guess,
11:32
I think is what they call it, but the thing is, once they did that in 2011, there were still
11:36
a lot of people that really wanted the ranger to return ever since, and we're talking about
11:41
a good seven, eight years now, so there's a lot of people that are pretty excited about
11:45
It is coming back as a slightly larger vehicle.
11:49
It's going to be a mid-size truck.
11:51
It's going to be in the mid-size market.
11:52
They're basing this on the idea that the success of other models that are competitors to this,
11:58
trying to think of what other ones there are.
12:00
There's the Chevy Colorado with a bigger one, like the crew cab that has four-wheel drive.
12:04
There's the Honda Ridge line, which can all-wheel drive.
12:07
There's the Toyota Tacoma, same thing, the double cab, Toyota Tacoma, because we'll talk
12:12
about vehicles in this class that are closely matched to what the Ford ranger you're going
12:16
to see on the streets is going to look like and behave like, but the Chevy Colorado is
12:20
really kind of the barometer for these mid-size truck sales, and I guess the sales on those
12:24
are up something like 83% since 2014.
12:29
There's definitely a market for this vehicle, and Ford, of course, is bringing the ranger
12:33
back hoping that they can cash in on some of that success, and that it can be a smaller,
12:38
but still solid alternative to its F-150 line, that it's such a popular seller.
12:43
The pricing, I'll just go ahead and lay it out here right now, what the pricing is on
12:46
this thing, because it's actually more affordable than you might think or might have thought it
12:52
There's three model lines here that we hear trim levels, rather, for the Ford ranger,
12:56
at least in this first year in 2019, and this is coming right from Ford.com.
13:00
The XL model, which is kind of the base level Ford ranger, is starting right around $24,300.
13:07
The XLT, which is the mid-range, is right around $28,120, and then there's the top level,
13:14
which is the Lariat, and the Lariat edition, is right around $3,390,000, so it does go up significantly
13:21
Now, I also want to point out that I'm reading a few articles here from Car and Driver
13:25
Road and Track, places like that that review these vehicles, and they say that, of course,
13:30
you can get one for $24.3, but it's not going to have many bells and whistles.
13:34
It's going to be pretty plain.
13:35
The ones that they tend to send to these automobile magazines are a little bit more decked out
13:40
with some of the fancy bells and whistles and some of the fun stuff on them, all the
13:45
If you get real fancy with the options, the cost can go up to something like $45,000, so
13:50
you're talking about $45,000 for a mid-sized pickup.
13:54
When you see the size of it, $45,000 might seem like an awful lot for a pickup truck.
13:59
It's a strong little truck, though.
14:00
We can talk about some of the features that make it desirable, like why you might want
14:06
Honestly, maybe the number one thing that you should consider is that, if you're looking
14:11
at a Ford F-150, if you don't need something quite that large, if you want something just
14:16
a little bit smaller, it does provide better fuel economy.
14:20
Of course, it has handling and maneuverability that is better than the F-150, just due to
14:27
That's inherently part of the design.
14:29
It's just going to be that way.
14:30
It has a high-strength steel frame, which is actually pretty nice.
14:34
It supports a mostly steel body, which is really good because there's a big push to move
14:39
to aluminum for a lot of these pickup trucks now, and it's, of course, it's high-strength
14:43
aluminum or military grade, or however they want to market this stuff.
14:46
But, the steel frame, again, mostly steel body that's used, there are some elements of
14:53
the vehicle that are aluminum, and that would be the hood, the front fenders, and the tailgate,
14:57
which are really the only areas where aluminum is used right now.
15:01
They're saying that there's a chance that eventually, this thing might go the same way
15:05
as the F-150 with the more aluminum used.
15:09
As far as the power plant goes, they have used the EcoBoost engine again.
15:13
So it's the 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine.
15:16
It's right around 270 horsepower, which has about 310 pound-feet of torque, so it's pretty
15:23
I think it's a decent little work truck, again, like my friend Steve's truck was.
15:25
You'd be surprised, you know, how much you can do with a small truck like this.
15:30
7,500 pounds is the towing limit.
15:34
That's if you have the trailer towing package, which, of course, is an add-on which costs
15:37
you more money, so weigh the pros and cons of that if you need the trailer towing package.
15:41
It has a 10-speed automatic transmission, which, all right, we've, I need to pause here
15:46
from it and talk about the 10-speed automatic transmission because I have in the past talked
15:52
about the transmission.
15:53
I believe it's an 8-speed transmission that was on my wife's Jeep product.
15:57
She had a Jeep renegade.
15:59
It could just be a difference in manufacturers.
16:01
It could just be that this one was not working right or whatever, but I had a heck of a time
16:05
with that 8-speed transmission, the automatic searching for gears.
16:09
It was like it never could find the right gear to be in, whether that was going uphill,
16:12
downhill, flat road, whatever it was.
16:15
The thing was constantly searching for gears, and it just didn't ever feel right to me.
16:19
Maybe it wasn't a smoothness issue, maybe it was a, you know, a software issue.
16:25
Maybe it was a manufacturer.
16:26
It could have just been flawed to begin with, but I'm hoping that this 10-speed automatic
16:30
is a little bit smoother in the Ford Ranger, and the only way to find that out, I guess,
16:34
would be to get some seat time in this thing and to be able to drive one, which I haven't
16:37
done yet, but I would love to.
16:39
So maybe somebody I'll take one for a test drive and kind of suss it out for you a little
16:42
bit and see if I can report back to you anything positive or negative on that, because I don't
16:48
I would love to hear from somebody who maybe already owns one of these.
16:51
If you do have an issue with that transmission, or actually any transmission that has upwards
16:56
of six gears, when you get up to the 8-10-speed transmissions, I think you'll find a lot
17:02
of problems sort of like what I have.
17:05
Maybe that's not the case in every situation, but again, I'd love to hear from listener
17:10
We talked about the trim level, so there's the entry level XL, there's the mid-level
17:13
XLT, and then there's the high-level Lariat, which, you know, honestly, when you get to
17:18
that level, you're starting to add a lot of cosmetic options as well.
17:21
It's not just adding different engine transmission combinations or whatever the case may be.
17:27
You're starting to add things like the chrome packages and the sport appearance or the FX
17:31
off-road appearance packages or things like that, so look carefully into that.
17:36
Right now, you know, this is another thing that we should talk about.
17:39
Ford has its Raptor line, the F-150, that whole F-line product, outstanding vehicle, performance
17:46
I guess if you can call it that off-road performance, really.
17:48
But right now, as far as the Raptor package goes for the Ranger, they're saying that right
17:53
now they don't have any plan to do anything like that, but I can just about guarantee that
17:57
in the next couple of years, they're going to come out with a Raptor version of this
18:01
Maybe we can do another podcast about that because that will be an exciting one to drive,
18:04
I'm sure, a mid-range or, I'm sorry, a mid-sized pickup that has performance on level with,
18:11
you know, something of the Raptor line.
18:13
I think that will be exciting to report on.
18:15
But you know, before we get too much further into this, we're going to have the rest in just

20:30
I've neglected one thing when we were talking about the different models.
20:31
And I think I might have just hinted at this, but the mileage on these things is actually
20:36
For a truck, I suppose.
20:37
Maybe you have to, you know, put it in that context.
20:39
But the city mileage, in particular, at 21 miles per gallon, that's across all vehicles.
20:43
So the XLXLT and the Lariat, the city mileage is 21 miles per gallon, which is a best
20:49
And it's only one mile per gallon behind the Honda Ridge line, and it's tied with the
20:53
Chevy Colorado for the highway mileage.
20:56
And the highway mileage is 26.
20:59
So not the great, and it's not fantastic mileage.
21:02
You're not getting like a city car mileage or anything like that.
21:04
But again, this is a small pickup truck.
21:06
And the cabin's a little bit larger than the previous rangers, and it's got a pickup truck
21:10
It's not the most aerodynamic vehicle in the world, of course.
21:13
So you have to give up something there.
21:15
And of course, you've got the ability to haul things and pull a trailer or whatever.
21:18
So I would say that 21, 26 across the lineup is really not that bad at all.
21:23
We did talk about the competitors a little bit.
21:24
I do want to say that the new Ranger, of course, it's a 4-cylinder vehicle, which is competing
21:28
against a lot of 6-cylinder competitors.
21:31
Now the 6-cylinder vehicles that I mentioned were the Chevy Colorado.
21:35
I didn't mention that these were 6-cylinder cars before, but the Ridge line, which is
21:39
also 6-cylinder and the Toyota Tacoma.
21:41
But it's very comparable in just about every case with all of those competitors.
21:45
So the Ranger, I guess, is standing up to the competition, they're putting it right
21:50
in the middle there.
21:51
I just sound like I'm selling forwards, don't I?
21:52
I should be a forward salesman when I do stuff like this.
21:54
I feel like I need to say that every now and then when we're doing these episodes about
21:59
a specific vehicle, a specific new vehicle, that I'm not selling these.
22:02
I'm not trying to get you to buy one or anything like that.
22:05
I want to get the discussion going on these because there was a lot of interest in this vehicle
22:10
A lot of talks surrounding the Ranger and the Bronco coming back, so we'll probably talk
22:14
about the Bronco too, but I am not, again, I'm not being paid by Ford or anything like
22:20
I guarantee you that.
22:21
I just found the line interesting, and I had some previous experience with the Ranger
22:25
in the past, I guess, my friends Ranger, and just kind of an exciting product.
22:30
I like talking about little pickup trucks anyway, so this is a fascinating one to me,
22:34
that it's back again.
22:36
So there, I've said that.
22:37
Now, that's my disclaimer.
22:38
Buy one or don't buy one.
22:43
So I'm looking at the, I think, I don't have a whole lot more to share with you about
22:47
I mean, we'll have a little discussion here at the end, I promise, something different,
22:51
but entirely different.
22:52
But I want to tell you that this is the specs for the 2019 Ford Ranger XLT Supercru 4x4,
23:00
and this is the one that was given a car and driver for its testing, and I'll just kind
23:04
of tell you some of the things that maybe we covered, maybe we didn't.
23:07
There's a few things here.
23:08
Oh gosh, here's the vehicle price.
23:10
Now, the one that we're looking at, I guess the 35, 310, I think it must have been the
23:14
Lariat edition that they were looking at that they had, brother, for testing.
23:19
The base price again, 35, 3, but the one that they tested, and this is way more expensive,
23:24
it's almost $42,000, so the price went up significantly for whatever they had on their
23:30
It's a little bit heavy.
23:31
It's a 4,536 pound vehicle, so what is that, it's right around two tons.
23:36
It's, of course, a front engine, rear wheel drive, it's four wheel drive, five passengers,
23:41
Ford or pickup, which is good too, so you can get the kids or the crew or whatever you happen
23:45
to be carrying in there.
23:46
We talked about the horsepower already, 270 horsepower, 310 pound feet of torque, 10 speed
23:51
automatic, which I'm not a big fan of, but we'll see.
23:53
Talked about mileage.
23:54
It seems like there's just a lot here.
23:57
I'm not even going to talk about the 0 to 60 times or any of that stuff.
24:00
It's not so important in a pickup truck, although it does stand up to its competition as far
24:05
as those times and what they got on the test courses.
24:08
But in the real world, I don't know, 0 to 60 really matter in a pickup truck, typically
24:13
But there's that off time when you do want to have a little bit of fun in it too.
24:17
So I understand that.
24:18
But honestly, overall, I just wanted to say that I was excited about talking about the
24:22
Ford Ranger and really used this as kind of a springboard to get everybody also excited
24:28
about maybe, I don't know, just to at least investigate it and just be knowledgeable, I guess,
24:33
that it's going to be back on the road and all new for 2019 here in the United States
24:37
And I don't know, I'm just excited about it, I hope you are too.
24:39
So if you own one right in, I'd love to hear about it.
24:43
Any past experiences with the Ford Ranger, if you have any experience with a first-gen or
24:48
second-gen or third-gen, whatever it happens to be, maybe it's your first vehicle.
24:51
Like it was my friend's first car.
24:53
Right in and tell me about it, because I like small pickup trucks like this.
24:56
I just always have.
24:57
I've liked the little Toyota trucks.
24:59
I've liked the little Volkswagen pickup trucks.
25:01
They were always just fascinating to me and I'd still love to have a small pickup truck
25:05
like this kind of just kind of bomb around in in the weekend, you know, just to have fun
25:08
and be able to carry things.
25:10
There's just so much utility to have in a small vehicle like that.
25:13
As a second car, I don't think as a primary vehicle, it works for everyone, but for some
25:18
people it would, and if you're in that zone, if you're somebody that could use this as
25:23
a daily driver, I think it's maybe something worthwhile looking into.
25:26
Outside of that, gosh, I think we're going to let you go here today.
25:29
And I probably have already talked to you're off too much about the Ford Ranger.
25:32
I didn't want to over sell it in any way, but you know, I guess there's one last thing
25:36
that I want to mention here, and I might have said this on a previous podcast, you know,
25:41
many, many years ago, but it involves my friend's Ford Ranger Steve again.
25:45
This is back in high school.
25:47
And it kind of has a tie-in to something else that we talked about on this show.
25:50
So I know we discussed this, but there was something called whistle tips in the news.
25:56
This is a few years ago.
25:57
There was a infamous online video of a news story of a guy, I think his name was Bug Rub
26:04
or something like that.
26:05
The guy, just a man on the street that they were interviewing about these whistle tips.
26:08
And it was actually these whistles that people would weld into the exhaust pipe of a vehicle
26:14
so that as you drive, it whistles it.
26:16
It makes this high-pitched scream as it drives down the road, and it's a hilarious news clip.
26:21
It's become a joke online, and I'm sure that many of you have already seen it.
26:25
And if not, it's worth a second watch anyway, you know, even if you have.
26:29
But just maybe whistle tips, Bug Rub, B-U-B-R-U-B, I think is how he spells the name.
26:34
Just quite a character.
26:35
Him and I think his sister, I think she called it herself a little siss or something like
26:41
Anyways, it was funny.
26:42
But along the same lines as these whistle tips, and this is many, many years prior, this
26:47
would have been late 80s, you know, when you go into a, I don't know, Spencer gifts,
26:51
someplace like that, maybe, and you can find those gag gifts, you know, the gum that snaps
26:55
your finger, or, you know, the bug in the ice cube, or whatever they happen to be.
26:59
You know, the jokes that are hanging on, or the pranks, I guess, that are hanging on
27:02
a rack in the back of the store.
27:04
I bought this insert that was like a whistle tip, only it was something that you just inserted
27:09
into the tailpipe without, there's no welding or screwing it in or anything.
27:13
It was just, you place it in there.
27:15
So one weekend, when we were headed out to a job on, you know, like a long job, or whatever
27:21
we were doing in this little pickup truck that my friend had.
27:25
And he was very, very conscientious of any, like, new sound or any problem with this truck.
27:30
You know, he was very, he always had the windows down, I was like, carefully listening
27:32
into the engine for ticks and, you know, any noises, right?
27:36
So we had the windows down, and I had, well, he was inside, I had inserted this whistle
27:41
tip into the back end of his pickup truck.
27:43
And so it didn't quite work the way I thought it was more of a pulsing sound.
27:46
So there was like a, like a whistling that was like, and it was pulsing as the engine
27:54
And it drove him insane trying to figure out what the heck that was.
27:58
And we, I pretended as if I didn't even hear it.
28:02
And so we drove all the way to the job, and you know, he's still just going nuts, like
28:05
what in the hell could that be?
28:07
And you know, as he would speed up, or as he was a rev, it would rev the engine, it would
28:10
speed up as well, drove him crazy.
28:12
And it was, it was probably the best, you know, two or three dollars I ever spent that
28:16
whole decade, maybe it was so much fun.
28:18
And I got away with putting that in another friend's car at some point, but I started it on
28:22
And you know, once he knew the gag, it was over, you know, it was, it was no good anymore.
28:26
But oh, man, that was fun.
28:28
And if you can find one of those little inserts to put in that, that's, there's something
28:31
that's harmless to do to someone's vehicle like that, I recommended it.
28:36
You'll have a good laugh out of it.
28:37
Of course, I got, I think I got punched in the arm several times, you know, over the
28:41
You know, no, no hard feelings, no harm done to the truck or anything like that.
28:43
But man, it was fun and it does remind me every time that I think about it of the whistle
28:48
tip story that, you know, much later came online.
28:50
So check that out if you get a chance.
28:52
And okay, that's probably far too much, far too much history that you didn't want to know
28:56
really about me and, you know, other stuff that I was up to back in the 1980s.
29:02
As always, if you want to contact us and maybe tell me about some of the, the pranks that
29:05
you've pulled on friends with your cars, do so.
29:08
You could do that at, on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, at all those places we are
29:14
And if you want to go to the website, I understand that as well, go to carstuffsshow.com.
29:19
And that's where you can find just about anything, well, actually everything that we've ever
29:23
done in carstuff here, going back to around 2008 and some of those early shows were a
29:29
So be kind when you listen to those, don't tell, don't write in and say how awful they
29:33
But we got better along the years and I'm hoping that you're enjoying listening.
29:37
And I really do appreciate all of you that have come back to listen to carstuff again if
29:41
you were a fan before.
29:42
And of course, anyone who's a new fan, welcome to the family because that's what it feels
29:48
We've got just a pretty tight-knit community.
29:50
There's a lot of people.
29:51
But once we start doing listener mail and start, you start understanding the people that
29:54
are listening and the things they're saying, you're going to hear names reoccur and you'll
29:58
get to know like you, it'll be almost like you would know these people.
30:02
That's the way it ends up.
30:03
And I promise you, it's a lot of fun.
30:05
So that's about all I have for today.
30:07
And again, thanks for listening.
30:09
And I appreciate it.
