down with Jeff who is quite literally the mayor of Davenport and we're gonna get into

ever uh so much so that i thought something was wrong but

yeah that's uh that's weird i'm not weird i mean that's what happens happens at least to give the

boy credit he came in he gave me the dead fish though he gave me the very weak that's why i said

you can shake my hand better than that yeah uh but then it's like if he would have came in and went

a little bit too too too strong for it that would have been like you got it that first handshake

is got to be like an in the middle situation yeah you're not gonna don't crush my hand to show

a dog don't try to don't try to be bad like tougher than me dude he literally shook my hand

like rosa's mom on the titanic oh man yeah i didn't have to deal with that man honestly my daughter

wasn't living me at the time so i didn't get a chance i'm not saying i would have liked to have

this yeah no i'm not saying that i i'm glad i didn't have that i'm just saying like it was it was in

a part of that of her life that i didn't get to experience yeah i mean i i get it that it's all

it's all part of life and it happens very very fast i mean you know that yeah it's that

one minute there you're teaching them how to ride their bike and the next day they're riding

another car with yeah some boy down your driveway yeah and then i mean all those things that come

with it you know the the relationships the breakups the sadness the you know well i think that's more

what i'm nervous about is because now we're going into a whole nother emotional part of a child's life

yeah you got to be dad for before it's like my knees scraped or you know yeah my tire slap

now it's gonna be he broke my heart you know he's talking to another girl and things just

things just get really complicated at that and she's my oldest

so

i just know that if the oldest once the oldest starts the youngest or the younger ones are yeah

they're ready for it they're gonna do it faster because now they're watching somebody in front

of them she's breaking the mold she's breaking the mold yeah well you got it i mean dude you're

just hanging out with you this this afternoon like your wife yourself like you guys got a good

wholesome thing going on here it feels very like i'm jealous i wish i'd have grown up here

you know what i'm saying in this house or in davin port like uh like i'm like i'm envious

yeah no no in this house or in davin port no just like with this type of environment yeah yeah i mean

the house is sick too you know yeah well it wasn't always like this we we lived we lived very modestly

for a lot of years and like most and i don't mean to sound like conceited or anything one this house

fell into our lap not everybody's gonna find a lot of people have to build it or you know this one

just happened to be the right moment we were in the right moment the right time made everything all

the stars aligned and it happened the house we went through through the house we went from

was the size of this living room we lived in that for how long you've been here

this last may was four years so with that being said and with it being known that you

could have built your own house or built whatever you we were going to so the weird thing about

this house is my wife grew up right down the street and this house we thought was abandoned

yeah because it was we took 60 trees out of here you couldn't see any of this but you couldn't

see it from the road we put the gates and we did all that she used to make me drive up here and

drive around this house real and then uh we thought it was abandoned because it was i mean it didn't

look like this we put a lot of a lot of love into this place but uh we had bought 10 acres that we

were going to build on and we had it for about two years just we own the lot we're just but

well eventually we're going to build on eventually we're going to build on it well one Martin Luther

king day in 2022 we went out drinking the night before woke up hung over you know how you're

kind of like in a daze you're still drunk pulled my phone out and a realtor friend of mine posted

this house and said you'll never guess what's coming for sale tomorrow so i look at jen and he said

how's we drive around this for sale so i call my for realtor friend and i said what's the deal with

this house and she says well the lady that lives there i said somebody lives there she says like

dude i mean i'm telling you the grass was this tall yeah there was no none of the stuff that's

outside was there there was 60 trees that we took out of this place so you couldn't i mean it was a

forest up here everything was overgrown there's bushes out front completely overgrown nobody's

taking care of anything um so she said well the lady that lives there wants uh wants to move to

a smaller house because she just realized that she can't redo that place and uh but she doesn't

know where she's going she's kind of just testing the waters i said i will give her asking price and

90 days to move out if we can close the deal today without even walking through this house

and she says let me call you back 10 minutes later she's like come on up we'd

fuck sat in that dining room right there inside it so i got to buy my wife the child at home that

she's always wanted that's right and then we got to we got to uh do our thing on it i mean it was

very old lady e um this is all had white carpet in it this whole room was white did that plastic

on the furniture no she didn't have much furniture okay she had she was probably in her 60s when she

lived by herself she had big plans of restoring this place because it was a vacant for like 13 years

nobody lived here yeah um she had big plans to restore it and i think she when she got in here

she realized i don't have the money or the resources to do this yeah so she kind of let the let the uh

let the dream go but it's been fun it's been awesome i keep joking with the kids that we're

going to sell this place and they're like no we are not like we love it you know we were talking

about this on the way to dinner it's like you know the whole mayor of Davenport you kind of got the

house for it dude yeah i do it's probably like one of the highest properties around here it's the

we're the largest landowner in Davenport we're the largest private landowner in Davenport uh there

maybe some bigger estate i think i've seen one that's like 19 acres but this is 21 acres so it's

literally but it's overlooking the river i mean you can see the river if you can see downtown

yeah the bridge and all that um it's like a whole nother world up here then come to find out one

of my childhood friends i would say childhood some guy that was friends with my mid 20s uh

which is a child now i guess 20 years ago yeah this was his grandfather's house his grandfather

built this house so when we bought it and moved in he brought us a bunch of old family photos of

them having christmas in here and what the place looked like he got me a newspaper article from

1940s of when they did an article on this house like this big house up on the hill and it's it's

it's just been awesome that just uh it's funny it's like you're the you're not the old dirty biker

down at the corner you're the old dirty biker on the top of the hill but i was the old dirty

biker down on the corner yeah and i just after you know a series of good events and good decisions

i've got to turn it around just for my kids you i mean just just in the little that we've talked

over you know tonight and in part you really built you just you hustle you bust your ass yeah i mean

you and i have the same mindset with yeah you know once i start doing something i could do it for

two months and i'm gonna figure out how i can turn them into a business i'm trying to stay away

from like i keep every time i get on my phone i'm seeing smash burgers and street tacos and

philly cheesesteaks made i'm like i don't want to buy a grill because i'm gonna go nerding into it

and they saying i'm gonna have the fucking food car i'm gonna be pushing i'm gonna be on the corner

just hustling you know like i just that's just how i'm wired but that's just it though you either

have that or you don't yeah some people just don't have it um and not everybody needs to have it

because without guys like us there wouldn't be you know some people

i am very envious of the people that are able to shut their brains off when they get home like

yeah i'm always thinking something yeah does it ever feel like it's maybe uh i don't think this is

and i think you're gonna agree it's not a lack of satisfaction with what you have or what you've

done or what you've where you've gotten to it's just this this need to constantly be evolving

and growing i the term i you like to use i just like to move that needle every day yeah i don't

look for home runs where i'm fucking pegging it every fucking if i can just do this a little bit

more every day eventually you're over here and that's that's how i've always i wouldn't say always

done things because i was very impatient for a lot of years in my life now i can be like hey this is

where i want to be in eight years nine years so you know for those of you for the for our audience

hasn't heard of you or whatever like you know you you had a pretty crazy up upbringing into this

to say the least you know um

yeah i would you describe that i was a piece of shit for a long time

pretty much up until the moment that i had my daughter first daughter uh i actually brought

my daughter home from the hospital to my buddy's basement because i didn't have a place to live

and then it just was like you're looking at her and i was like fuck i can't be this degenerate

piece of shit biker anymore i gotta i gotta do something for these kids you know for this kid

and then we had two more come along um you said you owned a tattoo shop i did which i was not a

tattoo artist uh i had gotten in some trouble when i was younger and

there was a group of us that got in trouble and one of the guys that

uh i kind of got in some trouble with was working at a tattoo shop and the owner of that shop

ended up getting in trouble so i got out of prison started hanging out the shop the owner of the shop

ended up going to prison so i acquired the shop for pretty cheap even though i'm not a tattoo

artist but i was a business guy so i ran the tattoo i got out of prison at 21 bought the

shop right before i turned 22 and it was in the height of like miami in 2006 2007 everybody's

getting tattooed doesn't even measure good tattoos everybody's just seeing them on tv yeah

they're accepted now well they're accepted now back then they weren't but now they got on tv

everybody's coming and getting tattooed uh i mean i was making 150 grand a year at 22 fresh

out of prison and it was like i felt like i lost so much time being gone for those you know four

and a half years that i basically just hit the fucking ground running and owning a tattoo shop

not tattooing and just collecting the money was like a perfect storm of i'm gonna be even more

of a degenerate you know like i'm gonna fund my lifestyle now and uh did you have like a like a

you want to buy all the shit you feel like you couldn't have got you didn't get to have at the

time is i did that i did when i bought some things then but it was more i was more geared

towards women and drinking and partying yeah when i settled down and started my hvat company

and started making some real money i was a thought i was a dad then so it was like i'm not

out running around partying which we did every now and then but it wasn't a lot of partying

where that was what my whole mind consumed up but it was like well now i got 20 grand to go

buy this bike now i got another 10 grand over here to buy this car now i can go buy this i had a

whole warehouse full of everything i ever wanted and i always thought i never had anything when

i was younger so this is uh this is what i want it didn't wasn't until like the last probably

three or four years that i had to start selling all that stuff to remodel the house to do all this

and i would always think it was so hard for me to let things go i'm not gonna let go because

when am i gonna ever gonna get it again i worked so hard for this well now i don't give a fuck

about any of that shit anymore like my kids are happy my wife's happy i got a couple bikes

i'm good i got a pile of parts that i can play with in the garage yeah i'm fucking fine like i

don't need all that shit and it it's that's another page you needed that shit in order to

work your ass off to get it which got you that level but then after you then i started

realizing that it ain't all about the money yeah but it's easy for somebody to say that that's not

struggling i mean there's some probably somebody's gonna see this guy yeah he's sure he's struggling

but it's it was a lot of struggle jenn and i my wife and i struggled a lot for a lot of

time a long time we didn't do a lot of anything for the first few years

and now we can do whatever we want did you just have like to get into the

heating and air conditioning stuff that you have like a what was your end of that you know what i mean

so i had the tattoo shop and one of my buddies owned an h-back shop when the crash of oa happened

the first thing people stopped to is getting tattooed so i just needed to make money the shop

wasn't making money i wasn't living so he's like hey just for 500 bucks a week come over here and

i'll just have you do the exact same thing in all these apartments just put these registers in yeah

so i started that and then worked for him for a couple years and i ended up

signing out for motorcycle school in florida in Daytona oh so you went down there so i went to a

wild attack in Daytona was in school for about a year well while i was in school i started working

for another h-back company there because i could you know it's easy you knew how to do it yeah or

it wasn't easy but it was my in of some skill that i had to make some money um so then i came back

up here started doing remodels and getting kind of i came back with nothing i mean literally came

back from florida 2011 with an s10 my two motorcycles my ironhead sports sir and my

my 2010 sports sir i came back in 2011 and a small u-haul trailer behind my s10 and i lived

wherever i could fucking crash yeah and uh came back in 11 my daughter was born in 13 and it was

to the races from there and she was born 13 yeah and we just dealt with what we just dealt with

she's that's my oldest daughter is my wife's daughter who is she's my daughter but i'm they

i wasn't in their life until they were yeah three and four so so the youngest is the youngest is my

real daughter my biological daughter they're all my kids and what's crazy is my youngest daughter

looks like my wife who's not her mom and her two kids look like me and i'm not their dad it's

fucking weird dude it's like we're meant to be yeah um but yeah it was it's all about i always

tell people having dad having the kids leave to make you or solidify you're a great person

or let's solidify your pieces yet there's no in between you can't hide yeah you can't hide you

know like it's gonna expose everything about you and what your actual priorities are yeah yourself

yeah you can't you can't run from it you know i've had a lot of friends over the year that i

thought very highly of until i found out that they don't take care of their kids and then it's

yeah i don't fuck with them i don't i don't associate with them yeah i'm i i don't like to

sit here and say that i'm some great dad i i i always think about what i wish i could do more

of yeah but that's a good sign of being good dad wishing that you could have done more like hang

your hat on like the uh i wish i could have shit as like because i didn't right like i i've never

left my kids high and dry i've always that's a good dad you don't have to be the dad that's

giving your kids everything they fucking ask for or want um it's what was difficult is as every

every layer of their life you know what i would say a lot i know a lot of great dads and i and i

try to like like pay attention to them and i ask questions and i and like how do you deal with like

like because the easy dad thing is to be their friend and that's not being a good dad that's not

because you're not directing you're a present father we gotta be a good dad exactly it's hard

i wouldn't say it's i'll tell you what it is very hard to be a good dad i always thought i was

going to be the dad that when you turn 18 you're moving out now that my kids are getting to that

age it's like well you don't have to leave at 18 yeah you know like we'll we'll work this out you

don't have to leave right away and a little little gift house over here yeah a couple little condos

over there well actually that has been our i've i've talked to jen about this about us building

our own house over there breaking this off i'm giving them one of the kids said we can just live

up here all for all forever um well i mean with the way the way the world is there is like this

aspect of like look we have some land why not just have our family here but have our our space yeah

you know what i mean i am very very big on keeping my people together if i if you know my dad and i

but has a lot however yeah great advice earlier though by the way well i was you know just we

call him about the fuck yeah he's uh he's not your traditional dad but he just went straight

forward i was like hey we'll talk about this but if i could have my dad live in that house right

i mean we we got jen's dad living next door yeah if i could get my dad living right there and i

get jen's brother living in the house down there i would love to surround myself with my friends my

friends and family yeah because those are the at the end of the day there's the people that are

gonna fucking have your back about yeah and you can trust them yeah you can trust them because

there's a lot of motherfuckers will smile on your back and fucking stab you in the fucking face oh

yeah or smile on your face and stab you in the fucking back um and i used to be want to be friends

with everybody i used to run around i used to want to go out i wanted to go place where everybody

knew me now it's like yeah let's let's go over here we've never been here before let's just kind of

i don't want to talk to these people uh well how does like so you you know that you know we've talked

about kind of the family aspect and how much that is involved but like as far as like you in the

motorcycle world i mean look we're in the midwest right and i don't think people out there understand

how traditionally packed with motorcycle culture the midwest is that drinking is all we got yeah you

scene per se in davinport but iowa itself has yeah i was i was where it's for arguing arguably

started yeah california might have ran with it but fugal and the all four steros and the stuff

these guys were doing it before there was easy ride before there was magazines yeah i mean

these guys had their own style you could look at you could put a fugal an l4 stereo bike in a

fucking lineup with a lot of other bikes and be like that bikes from fucking midwest we you got

to wonder how much of like david man who was in the city goes to california you know or just

the this moving around you know nests was out there you know he had his styles and shit like

that but like how much that all kind of like melted pot i mean nests was out there but and i'm not

an uh historian on choppers and motorcycles at all however was nests doing it before or after

fugal i mean that's the question like i i i don't know that answer you know when you're out there

and you're you're looking at you're at the museum and you're talking to the family and

they're showing you the archives he was in it but like the bay area just like i think the best

way to put it is the same way once i find out about all the blogs in america that were attached to

the vintage chopper culture the period correct world or i guess maybe you put it that way a lot

of people felt it and they created it and also they realized oh shit you're into this too yeah

and then it's like some styles probably had more of a dominance oh absolutely i mean there's some

even we're living in an age now of recycled shit yeah so we're we're looking at bikes

that have been done a thousand times over but you find something you like yeah even if it was in

the 60s or if it was in the i mean i'm real big on late 40s 50s style i hate the fucking word

but to understand bobber style yeah they're still chopping you're still chopping frames

you're still cutting stuff they're just not the long rig which yeah i mean i like those too

but i'm really big on just uh the Hollister like a modified factory Harley like yeah the stock

you know fat tires springers uh you know just kind of lightened up i love the old i love for one

they didn't have uh we didn't they didn't have the internet to watch what other people are doing

and have a whole these guys were literally just doing what works for them like what looked cool

they weren't looking at what somebody else was doing i mean probably some of them were but

it wasn't as heavily influenced as it is now you get builders now they'll sit for hours and look at

old pictures of what other people are doing and be like yeah i mean i like the way that resource is

kind of like a you know there's there is something to draw from and to learn from as opposed to these

dudes that you're referring to started they started it all yeah like look everybody there

somebody had to pick up a basketball once to see a fucking net and they're like i'm gonna

look it up there you know it just sucks it like that thing has gotten so big that nobody's praising

you know the guy originators right in our world is small enough to where we can still look back

and be like you know these dudes were doing it like this and they're still like uh you know

there's still like a version of this that exists that's paying homage to that yeah um

it's the same thing with hot rods i mean it's all it's all motor culture so it's either like

old flathead fords or you know they were using whatever they had to make it smaller lighter

and faster yeah you know and uh it wasn't until really like the 60s that the style came into it

you know where i think that's where fugal kind of took off and you know did fugal influence

california the california influence fleet fugal i don't know but who came out at the end is the

most known yeah fucking elf forest errors and fugal i mean you say fugal anywhere in the chopper

community everybody knows exactly what it is or who we are i mean you know like we were talking

about it at dinner it's just like i didn't know about it until i started like being in certain

circles and diving into certain types of bikes and then the name got brought up and then once i

started digging and learning some of the history not that i'm not that i can recite it or anything

like that but just learning it i was like man this when i think of a bike club that's the kind

of thing that i feel more drawn to be a part of a chopper club about choppers it's about

custom motorcycles essentially and not so much about like you know being a tough guy or you know

yeah and those are tough dudes because i don't know but i mean how's angels they built their thing

there were guys building choppers in the 60s but it's kind of morphed into yeah all these guys

are just riding baggers and just trying to be tough guys which they're a lot of guys are

fucking hard as fuck i don't think the clubs are as tough as they used to be there are some

motherfucking bad motherfuckers out there's credit scores and camera phones now

you know i don't think people realize how much credit source changed like hardcore dudes

because you can you can live your whole life not needing a credit score until you

i don't know if you can do that anymore you used to be able to yeah i'm gonna change my life and

i'm gonna go ahead and buy a house next year like no you need seven years to build your credit

yeah that's for sure that's a that's definitely a life decision to have my credit

and actually when i first got with my wife my credit was so bad they wouldn't even tell me what it

was everything i'd put it in because i mean i never paid him my fucking but i was a degenerate

fucking piece of shit um luckily i married a woman who had good friends when the computer

went up it's like right well you put hers in and say you know seven eighty you put mine in and say

please please eat cashier

for the longest time i had no idea what it even was like i wouldn't

they wouldn't even give me a boost mobile phone my credit was so bad oh and it took a long time

for me to dig myself out i didn't get a driver's license till i was 40 dude yeah i remember that

i spent my whole 20s like you know being really good at spog and cops and not having my shit together

and then i remember like the day that i like legitimately got insurance yeah and like my

my license and i was like fuck do you like you gotta swerve pull me over so you can check it yeah

i'm still hiding from cops i'm like i still do i want to my heart still kind of goes when i see

one that's like wait a minute i'm legal now or they get behind you like oh yeah yeah it's different

but so i mean obviously the the motorcycle culture is just embedded into this area but like for you

i mean you obviously are in a lot of different you have the bikes i mean you have a lot of

fucking nice bikes but then you also have the old school cars cars and cars is where it started my dad

i was always in trouble when i was growing up my dad was a mechanic he built

he was a it was a dealership mechanic but he come home and he built yeah classic cars and

i was always grounded so is you want to work in the garage yeah or do you want to

fucking be in your room so i was like i guess i want to be in the garage yeah so it's always

i've always had that mechanical thing and one thing i've noticed is like nowadays people aren't

teaching their kids that kind of thing dads aren't really there are some i'm not saying everybody

does that but people aren't teaching their kids to like change oil to change tires to do all this

stuff and i when i hire people at my hvac company it's one of the first questions is what does your

dad do always like use the computer check it's like i don't know if you're gonna get this dude

like you know like you either have it or you don't now did i have it because my dad was a mechanic

or did i have it because some people just have it some people can play the drums and some can't

i'll never be able to probably play the drums because that's just it's not in me i'll never be

able to draw because it's my brain is not wired enough to be able to i mean i can draw but it's

gonna look like a fucking Picasso um is it like that with mechanics i'm the older i get the more

i think that but uh that's a good point about the dad though like because there's inherently

going to be some kind of forced child labor going on you know yeah i grew up in that household well

we just had this conversation at dinner you got you grew up in a body shop wanted to be a mechanic

you try to be mechanic now you're doing bodywork yeah i grew up in a mechanic shop i wanted to go

to school to do bodywork now i'm fucking to work on cars and fucking do mechanics on our purposes

yeah so uh is that ingrained in us i mean is it like because my dad my dad's a blacksmith so

i'm a blacksmith my dad's a carpenter so i'm a carpenter i think if you were to roll the clocks

back or or the time back a lot further back when we didn't have access to all the different

information and opportunities we probably would have just chosen that and stayed the course right

but you know like you can grow up in a body shop and dream of being the guy building a

high-tech motor and be like this this looks sick i like the Legos i like the idea of

there's a pile of parts sitting on the ground and i'm going to make those pile of parts one thing

create something with land i love creating things yeah uh i'm not the best at it i mean there's a

lot there's a lot of guys that build a lot of fucking nice bike i don't even call myself a

bike builder i'm more an assembler yeah i like to i love going to swap meets and finding parts

and i'll look at it well fuck this is exactly what i need and then uh i'll assemble them i've got a

lot of really really talented friends that when i need something i'm like yeah i can do this for

me when you get to a certain point like you you you feel like i like your house is full of art

right and to me it goes in it's intertwined with like having a nice bike but wanting to

look at your bike and say oh my buddy uh you know the Scott painted this or this guy did this or

somebody made this this shift knob for me or that that a kicker pedals from so-and-so and like

you just feel like these are these people that that make up your friendship or your your i wouldn't

say identity but your friend yeah yeah i'm very very sentimental about objects yes i am um

you know uh my grandfather passed away i got his 2004 Deville which is like a $1,500 car but it's

my dad has a 74 z28 that he had since pretty much a new my uncle bought it in 74 my dad bought it

from him in 75 it's been in the family forever my dad redid it when i was growing up when i was a

kid it was in a million pieces now it's really nice that's something that i can't wait to hand

to my grandkids you know yeah um i'm very very sentimental with objects of things um yeah but

even looking at all the photos of like you know like this hallway is full of you know people that

you and i both know like your friends and the people in the events you've been to it's hanging

up in your halls it's every day yeah it's family yeah um yeah i mean i love sitting here and looking

at things and memories memories are a big thing for me um i know i don't know if you ever had my

space oh yeah dude so i had a famous stars and stress court cursor ah yeah well i didn't do that

but come on did you get to learn to code uh i had a lot of photos on my space yeah and i don't

think i've used it since 2009 but every now and then when i would be looking at talking to people

i would pull up my space but hey look at this and i'd show them that's right that was my photo album

yeah well then one day i get up there and my space is wiped out all of our photos

so i like i'm freaking out i'll pay whatever for anybody to re get this all back i need all this

information back well we're in the digital age now where nobody has tangible photos of anything

yeah so my wife actually found this company that every month she sends all of her photos from that

month to this company and they sent us a paperback book with all those photos yeah so i've got all

these if the grid goes down you know everything goes down we have no more power we have no more

internet we have nothing forever it just gets wiped out all of our memories information

area is gone yeah so i'm big now of having in my hands things that my grandfather when

my grandfather passed away i got a bunch of his photo albums those are in my fucking fire safe

i don't even have my guns in that safe i have my grandpa's photos no safe because that is very

very sentimental to me um and it's the same with objects like we were talking about on these bikes

where my friends made me the shifter my buddy did this frame for me you know my buddy painted this

i got this seat at this event that me and my fucking homies had a blast at yeah you know and

it's it's life's fucking short man yeah and then i've always i've had this conversation with a lot

of people but i was like i'm the guy that like you know especially doing a podcast people here

talking about things and they're like oh i'm really into this and someone will find it and

send it to me and it's like i'm a gift to me i will never get rid of yeah you know what i mean

like the only way you would ever leave and that's a very rare thing is if i re-gifted it to somebody

else that i know that you knew had almost more of a sentimental value than you i've done that before

too where i've had something will pop up like a toy i had when i was a child or a toy i wish i would

have got yeah and i've i'll see it i gotta have this thing but then when i see somebody else come

in and see that same enthusiasm like here you go buddy there's a feeling right yeah yeah so i had

a buddy that uh i have a i have a i'm building my collection of books and like old mags and

shit like that and because i've been doing that when i get extras or duplicates of the mags i'll

give them the people i think are gonna appreciate it yeah but i had a dude that was doing a kind of a

redefining himself trip and he stopped at my house and spent some time there

and he and i said hey man you need to you need to look at this book right here now this book

you can't find it anywhere it's it's like you know an ebay or whatever it's like $2,000

and then someone i found one i found one that someone said hey man uh i know you like this

book i'm gonna send it to you so i immediately got it and sent it to him do they oh okay yeah so

they you sent it to that guy yeah so i wanted to make sure that i can get my hands on it yeah

because i have one and i got it signed by the artist or the the writer and all that and like

i'm good on that but that's the thing is like i find that like it's like when people come here

and they and they get to nerd out on all this stuff that you have and the memorabilia it's like

there's to me it's like um it gives people a chance to kind of find like who they want to

become because your house is set up the way that we always wanted to set up our houses

like you always think it's gonna be like i'm my house is set up like a 15 year old with a

why do we stick to tradition yeah why do we got to put some fucking cow with bangs on the wall

live life love yeah like why can't it be fucking uh devils angels get out of the way

you know mexico man beetle juice is my favorite movie my daughter my daughter's a big beetle

juice fan too there's beetle juice stuff all over this house and yeah like why can't it be that that's

that's who we are and i think traditionally like we find ourselves

like oh that's not appropriate to be in our home like why the fuck not this is who we are

yeah well what's not appropriate to be in my home it's my fucking home i am big on not following

the norms of things uh i can't stand it when people will comment on things my children are

doing which my kids are not bad kids yeah but it'll be like me cussing with my kids there but

that's inappropriate well fuck you like who the fuck who even said that a word was bad

like what makes it bad because you because you think why don't you say that the fucking

word boat is bad you tell me the word boat is bad i can't say boat around say boat in this house

yeah i fucking i just i don't like that everybody thinks that this is the mold you need to be in

however there also is a mold that you need to do you need to follow as a society to make things

work correctly yeah but what if i want to paint my whole fucking house black i'll fucking do it

yeah uh if i want to say fuck and if i let i used to let my kids say i do let my kids cuss

to a extent my middle one is the typical middle child so she would say fuck about everything

yeah i was like you now you're done now you can't you gotta learn you ran out of fucks you ran out

of fucks so you can't do that anymore but they're uh my son kind of like sprung it on me one day

the same way this sprung on you earlier and i lost track of everything he was talking to me about

because i was like this motherfucker just say fuck to me and i'm like ultimately i felt like a little

bitch because i did not know how to handle it i i well you don't prepare for this yeah you know

what i mean it just pops out now do you think i remember my grandparents were very very church

going and i never i was those were the ones that i was very respectful of and i tried my best not

to cuss but i remember they came to see me in prison one time and i was just having a stressful

day and i just let my fucking cock suckers over here and i was i just stopped and they acted

like they didn't hear it but i'll never forget it that they just feel bad right yeah so with my son

what i ended up doing was i was like once i you know like two days later finally figured out how to

like address this i might look you know you're 14 years old i know that this is probably how you

talk outside of this household for sure or when i nobody's around and i just want you to understand

that like the what what i need you to understand is that like if you do that with me it's probably

not bad like i i can deal with it they need to learn a ton of place but if you do that around me

and other adults then it makes me look like a really shitty parent and i don't want to be that

because i don't want people to judge you based on your mouth judge you and me yes on that so

when you meet people and you do not know them it's not a comfortable environment

people like especially the young age yes us being 40 if i say i mean i if i'm around an

elderly person i might not so you know liquidly say that i don't know why i i get a weird little

chub out of this sometimes i guess but like i like to use a cuss word in my vocabulary

as an adjective or a describing factor yes but not like a hey this fucking shit is so

fucking stupid i can't believe we're fucking here i'd be like hey uh what's that shit that y'all put

in the uh yeah you know talking to a waitress very very subtle yeah it's like you know i'm

not i'm using it in a way to lighten the mood yeah so that they don't feel like they have to be so

proper they know that i fuck around a little bit and we can go you know i will dabble if i hear

an elderly person cuss i know it's fucking on it's fucking good but i will kind of dabble a little

bit and kind of go out but again when you get the 30 year old talking about a 40 year old talking

well that's not appropriate cook get the fuck out of here you know it's a fucking word if you're

raising your kids to be afraid or offended by words you're failing as a parent yeah you'll never

convince my mind of that you need to teach your kids that yeah that might not be appropriate to say

all the time but if you're gonna raise your kids to be like oh my god he said fuck oh i just i just

honestly i'm not a fuck i've noticed kids are really good with analogies yeah if you can take

something that is inappropriate or right or wrong and give them an analogy to where it's a part of

their their real world environment where they understand why you should do this or not do that

then they they get it a lot better than if you were just like don't do that yeah you know because

what that's what i heard no no so what happened oh well kind of so nick invited nate and us four

put on hello wheels oh so we'd always heard about the cosmic shed but we didn't know it was a fucking

invite only yeah so we fucking pull in and everybody i'm like you're here for the shed run

and uh scott's like who the fuck is this guy and then we ended up by the end of the trip we were all

best friends yeah that makes sense yeah this is uh fandango that was the very first party they ever

had at the canyon yep no i that was the one that was the bike i rode i built and rode this from

here to raton and back i'm sick i'm at jp run uh back in the day jp's good shit man he's a good

dude he he had a wild little run he's somewhat sober now so uh he's getting there oh i throw this

under there so it doesn't start flashing all right is that back on but uh

yeah so yeah so what was i mean since you just popped it up in my head like hell on wheels

uh what what is the iowa scene right now what is it i mean you guys we were talking about earlier

you got davenport cedar rapids the moin su city a couple guys in su city um some guys in southern

iowa like close like bethany well the missouri i guess bethany missouri uh it's very very

raw gritty it's not there are some nice bikes yeah it's mostly fucking crusty

for lack of better word meth fucking bikes where they're drug runners i mean i wouldn't say the

guys have the bikes are drug runners however it's just that style yeah you know um very gritty very

who gives a fuck about paint you know we'll fucking we'll put paint on with a trailer can

fucking call us fucking ride yeah uh it's all it's all back roads we uh my friend nate

his dad was a true 60s 70s chopper guy i mean this guy was the real deal and his dad passed away

i want to say in 2015 and to commemorate him um this him my friend weasel flying weasel

couple other guys all started hell on wheels down in fort madison iowa and that was really

my first introduction into real choppers which was in 2016 i had an iron head i had some dina and

some sport a couple sporsers and stuff like that but fxr before that but to see real fucking gritty

pans nox chop i mean that was my first encounter with kenny slaughter yeah

anybody that knows kenny i don't have to say anything else um

and i was hooked yeah i literally came back from there and traded my dina and some cash for a

chopper and i never looked back yeah and uh after about i think two years of that

starting to hang out with nate and then the guys from hell on wheels um i was like man

welcome what can i do to help and nate was just overwhelmed with doing it by himself so

panhead steve dan haas and i all were like fuck it what do you need and ever since then it's been

the four of us have put this show on and it's it's as close as you'll ever get to

you know there's no judges nobody really looks at the bikes do their party and we're all on the

same style bike yeah and you might go hey that's kind of cool but it's not like there's no egos

there's not it's not california it's not i mean it's it's a party that's all it is yeah it's it's

it's a much larger beaver bash okay with a hundred guys instead of 20 uh we take over we basically

take over a small town called franklin iowa and the town loves us it's maybe a town of 50 houses

and there's a town square that's a block by a block by a block there's one bar called the

franklin tap on it and they give us the whole fucking town the cops don't even come into that

town we take the whole fucking thing over line up main street we have bands vendors choppers

booze and then we leave there and do a run usually panhead steve takes the run but we just

lot load up and hit a small town 20 miles away don't even tell them we're coming a town of

three gender people will have a hundred bikes pull up and drink their bar out of booze in 30

minutes and fucking leave as fast as we fucking came and hit the next town over and we do it and

it's just you go to these bars these people maybe sell a hundred dollars in a night and we're selling

three grand and booze in fucking 30 minutes you know and it's like how on wheels how on wheels

fucking load it up let's fucking hit the next one you know it's like uh i mean i don't know if

like the railroad the east to west and this is maybe getting a little deep into like some history

was because you go through shy and all that from the one that was connected east and west

does that railroad go more through like iowa or southern because i feel like it's you know i'm

across the country um they they often called that hell on wheels because as they built the towns

it was the railroad was moving with the towns and and they would move 30 miles down the road and

started never leave with it and that was like and it was just like brothels and fucking bars and

so it was that that was the hell on wheels thing i've never heard that before but i will

definitely check that out um but that's that's probably a lot of the same thing that turned

into choppers and the the free wildness you know like i used to be that free willed guy i've kind

of been rooted with my kids but i still got it here yeah the events that you go they give you

what you need hundred percent that is why i get so nuts at events is because i'm so locked in at home

and trying to do that i get i go back to getting a taste of my just carefreeness of being like i

don't give a fuck where i fucking sleep tonight you know when i first met you last year at beaver

bash um and i've told the story to other people i'd never told you yet because you know it's about

you but it's like i think the first day the first time we hung out we all went to the bowling

remember that yeah yeah and i was like oh this dude's a he's alive for the party and i'm like

i dig that because i have like this entertainment aspect to me where i feel like i want to make

sure everybody's having a good time i do the same thing and i'm when i when i feel like someone's

better at it to me i love just sitting back and letting it take place i don't have a better

out of than you i just no no you definitely are i mean i just like obviously i'm i'm i was the new

guy into that that sector like oh so you just really started meeting the hangout with those guys

i i knew jason i knew oliver and i had been hanging out with haney uh i met scott uh chemical candy

back in 16 so i knew people sprinkled in but i that was the first hang as your first i'm no

bobby photographer bobby for a long time we've been friends for a long time just photography

shit but and i'll tell this story about you and this might be uncomfortable for you to

hear from me nothing like that diner we went to yeah we walked in there you said

you saw a little veteran hat over there said i'm buying that dude put that on me did i you did it

three times before we got to our table and i was like what the fuck man like and and i don't know

i didn't know you yeah i mean i'm just like okay and you did it and then you sat down and that was

it it never came back up it was more like hey just make sure those are on mine and yeah so i do that

a lot uh that was sick like so there's a reason behind that and i i i mean i do it a lot and i've

uh i've tried to instill this in my kids though but my best friend his dad and my dad were best

friends were six months apart so naturally we were forced to be best friends yeah um

um his last name is geigel my last name was graybaugh so when even when we were in the same

school alphabetical order our fucking lockers are right next to all through fucking year books year

books everything yeah and uh i was the wild one he was wild but he was i don't want to say was he

closet wild no i don't want to say he was in my shadow because that motherfucker was right with me

however my loudness and voice was probably attracted a lot more attention than he did

but don't let that fool you that motherfucker did everything i fucking did

however he was probably a little bit easier a little bit better of of uh

kind of concealing it but i went to prison and he went into the navy

like about the same time and we kind of lost track of each other and this is before social

media so i mean nowadays you can fucking type somebody's name and you see it yeah well

why was it a house party when i got out of prison this motherfucker walks through the door i was at

a house party people i didn't know before prison yeah it wasn't like i was at like a whole high

school i'm in a new group of people this motherfucker walks through the door we're like what the fuck

instantly back together again and uh when we were younger um he actually ended up getting

discharged he got in a car accident while he was in prison or while i was in prison

while he was in the military almost died was in the hospital for like nine months and and uh

they pieced him together like frankenstein he was so fucked up though they took his blood

gave him a dui then dropped the dui because they thought he died they fucking threw the case out

because like yeah he's deceased turned i mean yeah still very much alive so when we were in preschool

together we took photos with santa claus so when i got out of prison when i got

to prison he got out of the of the navy we were at the mall one day and santa was there and said

let's go get a picture of santa again so we just sit with santa well then it turned into a thing

every year like the next year we went and did a photo of us like i think we had we both had a picture

said i'm with stupid that pointed towards santa either side of them and then it turned into something

we did every year so you know you fast forward he started having kids and i started having kids

and you kind of drift away from yeah we were still best friends we'd still text each other and stuff

but we always made sure we got together on the holidays to do our annual santa photo and i'll

show them all to you and i get really fucking choked up but i can't we ended up becoming real

good friends with santa um broke good friends with santa yeah well he like every year we'd go back

to him well we did one in 2010 with me chugging a ball of crown which was before i actually chugged a

ball of crown but there's i'm in the photo doing this and he's got a nudie magazine and santa's

like looking over his shoulder like well was there other kids in line oh yeah oh yeah we did another

one where we dressed like uh we put on like uh onesies got pictures of santa we had another one

where i actually broke out of the hospital to go take the photo i was doing construction i had shot

a nail into my hand and they were admitting me overnight and uh i told the nurse i said you

can't admit me i said i have to go get this santa photo tonight my buddy's in town we had to go to

she's like i can't let you out of the hospital and i said i'm i gotta do it so how about we do this

i'm gonna come check on you in four hours i said okay so she walked out of the room i

fucking went to the fucking mall took this photo and in the photo i've got like a keytar

my buddy's got this little tiny baby drum drum kit and santa's like screaming into the microphone

i mean it turned into something we did every year in the photo my hand's all bandaged up like

you can see that i just got out of the hospital um well he had five children uh three months

before or in may of 2016 he had twins and he named his son after me at 2000 in august of that year

his wife called me and said where's can you do more grams that we're fighting i can't i don't

know where he's at so we searched for him all day and ended up finding him out in the woods he

killed himself but he was a big big guy into doing things for veterans he was big with the

warriors he was big so when he died i kind of my way of paying homage to him is every time i see

a veteran and i'm doing this with my kids where we'll go out to dinner and we'll see some way the

vet had on and i'll tell the nurse or they'll tell the waitress i'm buying that guy food will you

only tell him don't even tell him just tell him somebody got his uniform so now i got my kids calling

me that way they're older now but daddy daddy there's a guy here with all them hats on the

bias food so now they're doing it and it's it's just something that they're the greatest

fucking generation of people that we're willing to do these these fucking little pussy fucking

kids that are out here now uh they don't have the heart to just give up everything you got to go

do that and i i would have loved to go in the military but i got so much trouble so early on

that i even asked them instead of going to prison can i go in the military and they're like

aha not with charges like this you're going to prison yeah um yeah some of my pretty much

every one of my closest friends are vets and i don't know what i did to attract those men

but um i mean it's a brotherhood thing literally last yesterday the whole day i'm like okay that's

send him a message i send him a message you know and they're all like super buddies so they're not

like looking for but it's like hey man like i know we're friends and we're past all that but

we're not man like you did some cool shit you know i'm saying so well there's also more to that

so that was the the military side i just got married in may and his oldest son is 16 like

called him up i said hey man you want to stand in for your dad and be my best man in my wedding

and he was like oh absolutely i love that his mom called me like 30 minutes later so like he's

bawling his eyes out and he said it was how was it for you though like in that situation like

it's so crazy because he looks just like his dad his dad he had five kids he's got three boys and

two girls they all look look like just fucking like him yeah um and i now fortunately i'm very

close with the though with both of his ex-wives or both of his ex-wife and his widow yeah um and

i get to see the kids whenever i want we see him all the time we're at all the birthdays we do you

know we're always around um i make sure that you know uh i help however i can um it's it's weird

that even like the two children that he was only with for three months still have his mannerisms

like that's weird that there's a genetic thing that yeah now are the youngest ones picking it up from

their older brothers and sisters who knows but it's just weird that i can look at his kids and see him

you know i get to experience him through them and it's it's probably good for them too especially

that you you are engaged at this point to where like you want to be able to also be a liaison

between knowing their dad yeah to maybe fill in the blanks of their well and here's another thing

i'm worried about is his dad his mother my best friend's mom killed herself when she when he was

10 so i remember being at her funeral with him oh so his mother she killed herself too so like when

he died it was uh how can you do this you know i was pissed how can you how can you leave these

fuck how was it when you when you did this uh 30 um but it was like how could you do this well

then i started thinking you know i could never do that to my kids however it would he thought it was

normal like he he grew up with it's normal for apparently your kids like it's so one thing i'm

super worried about is i don't want those kids to get depressed and think it's fucking normal

and then that's their way out you know i mean they gotta you gotta find a way to normalize

these feelings of growing up and dealing with hardships yeah it's part of it nothing lasts

forever as long as you he had a he had a pretty fucked up childhood too his stepmother was a

fucking complete cunt but we're getting off the fucking subject of motorcycles here oh yeah

but yes i like to do a lot of things for vets because of it's my way of feeling close to him

because it was something that if i if we went out to eat he would have done that yeah so it's like

i'm well i i saw that and it it was inspiring to me and it was one of those things where it's like

you know like anytime you meet someone that's kind of like that like you like you got to admit

like you're you walk into a room and you are the guy there you either hate me or you love me

exactly here and it's easy for someone who is looking to hate somebody to just hate you well

there's a regard there's a lot of people that will hate you just because everybody else loves you

yeah you know what i mean and i'm not saying i don't give people reasons to not like me

however most people that don't know me that dislike me in the beginning almost always end up loving

me because that you because it's a perception yeah it's a perception thing yeah and i'm good at

pick i don't want anybody to hate me uh and i know that i'm very drunk here you see sometimes uh

and if i can pick up that i've upset somebody i'll do what i can but hey you know i'm sorry man

you know like we're good we're just having fun you know i don't ever want people to feel uncomfortable

or anything like that but sometimes when the booze is flowing people get upset but i have noticed

even if it isn't with me you'll watch guys like online talk about motors like that oh

fuck that guy will you know and i'm guilty of it sometimes too we had this conversation or um

you just have to you just gotta you just gotta think everybody's on their own fucking journey so

you can't yeah it's hard to uh have an opinion like look social media is social social media

gives us the ability to have a first opinion about somebody even though it's not a first opinion

about us it ain't even fucking real man if you and i are fucking getting wild at the bar tonight

and we're doing some stupid shit on which we're going to 100 percent if we do that and then they

go oh that dude's fucking like who the fuck does that guy think he is because the dude listening

to her watching it is in a different fathom being in that position and doing that they're in a mental

state of like oh the motorcycle is serious to me yeah like yeah it's it's serious to me too but

like it doesn't it's my escape though yeah you don't have to be you don't have to be the police

dude that's the you know what i mean like this shit's fun and it's supposed to be fun and when

when you like if you can't go to a bar and be around other motorcyclists or bikers that you

know and love and you you haven't seen each other in a couple months you're like yo i'm here now

let's fucking go let's fucking go bowling baby the funny thing about that was when you got the whole

fucking bowling alley to like get quiet like we were gonna do a surprise for all over it

he's like i fucking hate when you do that

he played it off well you know dude he is such a good sport he's such a good guy i cannot say

enough about him or his wife or his well not their wife his wife his girl his woman

they're both just i remember my kid's mom loved income masters and i would watch it with her and

be like who the fuck is this guy fucking flannel fucking just top buttoned on and okay

fucking toothpick in his mouth so when we went to the shed run the first time i didn't even know

he's gonna be there uh i'm talking to chemical candy randy and he's like you know you know all

of our packs gonna be here and i'm like who gives a fuck by the end of that trip i was

making plans to go back down to oliver's house like the next month to hang out because it's just

he's not who he plays on tv and he's just one of the sweetest guy he's all about motorcycles

he is all about motorcycles and tattooing and just living that life of he is i gotta i gotta

give him credit because uh poll fission is one of my favorite movies right but it's a little before

my time to have watched in the theater yeah and last winter he invited my wife and i out to go

watch a screening of it at a theater and i'm like man i never thought how amazing would feel to

watch a movie on the big screen that i missed yeah and that was like so the first time i ever saw

a pulp fiction on the big screen was there first of all i forgot how long that fucking movie was

but it's like this is fucking rad and that's the kind of it's like a you're creating experiences

for people that they might have missed and he's good at that i mean he loves to relive his childhood

you know what i mean he have you ever been to his house yes his fucking house is

i would say it makes this place look like a fucking church lady's house you know what i mean

like yeah he has every single toy he's ever had or wanted yeah um and you can tell that he's got

every color of it he's got it yeah he's got every color of it he's got every swin bicycle they

fucking made yeah uh his hallway is a mini golf course the entire hallway yeah um it's just

he's the kind of person i look up to in the sense that you just don't give a fuck because there are

some times that i'll walk into rooms and i'll be kind of self-conscious like well i mean these people

will not like me and this that oliver just don't he'll blast right through the motherfucker and say

fuck him you know yeah but he's the nicest guy who would not like him i use that as like a litmus

test now where you don't like oliver then you you're not because like what is your real reason

for not liking this guy 100 the only reason anybody cannot like him is that they're envious of them

you know yeah people get on the internet they get a little uh they get a little uh self-conscious

about other people that are company with themselves yeah and i talk about this a lot on this podcast

i think i lose a lot of audiences because i talk about like people and their insecurities and how

they can hide their insecurities behind a motorcycle or that's true a lot of other things i'm a body

builder i'm a this like you can hide these insecurities around a persona behind who you are

not i'm a biker i'm a bodybuilder i'm a tattoo artist i'm a whatever right i'm a pipefitter i'm a

i'm a jarhead i'm a this i'm a whatever the fuck i'm a lowrider st rider oh yeah that's

you're the you're starting a club about that yeah but so in being that it's like you got to get to

the point where like yeah there's nothing wrong with loving these motorcycles and it can't be you

it can't be you yeah it's a part of you it's what you like it might be but it cannot be your whole

persona yeah uh and i it's it's a lot like these guys that i say where they're costumes you know

you get these doctors and lawyers yeah who they can't ride their bike unless they are just head

to toe in leather and their wife has her bedazzled headband and they make it a costume their bike

is an accessory at that point and it's not just something they don't give two fucks about the

motorcycle they give a they are worried about what it makes them look like to other people yeah um

you know these guys it'll fucking you be riding i fucking do this hey guys you know that's my

fucking motorcycle wave i don't give a fuck about it the ones that like i try to be not so uh like

like i said that's judgmental that's probably the most version of like someone that's probably

very insecure about themselves because they're buying everything that thinks that they're gonna

get in a club yeah you know and i'm not saying a motorcycle club but the club of said subject

or the guys that buy sports cars and things are going to be one percenters i mean yeah

am i telling me i'm wrong i mean that's literally like the anoxymoron right like you can't

i cannot take a diamond patch pulling up on a sporty seriously you're gonna talk to me

you're gonna talk to me like that low pins are over there nerd on that i mean i'm not talking

shit about sports that we i mean yeah i actually i love old iron sports cars it's just it's you

know what i mean these guys will buy a stereo type there this yeah yeah yeah stereo type there

sports cars you know talk to me like that i got a fucking vespas sitting right there bud okay

who am i to fucking tell anybody what's cool well i mean at the end of the day it's like

all you're doing is poking fun at people's wall they put up

and if yeah and if you can't laugh at yourself then it's it's the wall is not the wall is not

real it's a facade it's a you know it's a it's a thing that you're putting up to kind of protect

an ego yeah and look i mean look i i'm saying that as a 43 year old dude that's had my i've had

my insecurity phase where i did certain things and there's probably a little bit of insecurity

still in me for sure because would you would you write a fucking goal way around

i mean i i would i'm really not like uh would you make that your only would you

get rid of everything else and ride a goal around i mean there would be some kind of

stipulation that's what i'm talking about so what i'm talking about at the same time i'm also guilty

of yeah because i also would not be out riding a bike one i love harleys i love vintage harleys

yeah however if i've got to have a fucking you know chevy cobalt it's going to be a brand new harley

it's i'm not buying an indian well i don't know some of the indians are kind of cool

well the indian thing is we've been talking about that i uh i'm i'm known on this podcast to like

go out and publicly like be like i don't fuck with indians yeah that's how much it aren't they

Polaris now no they were Polaris they're not Polaris now what is it who's it's just straight

indian but whom who they got bought up by uh a they were sold to a like canam well canam's

Polaris so canam's Polaris is a bit can't Polaris i don't know Polaris is the is the top is the

tip of the umbrella or if it's in the umbrella but Polaris also owns uh you know the canams they

also own like bombardier or some kind of jet bombardier but bombardier is like cdu bombardier

is the motors which is cdu there's also Polaris but it's like general motors yeah you know and so

i remember i met a dude that sold those jets and you know big old bag guy he sold those jets and he

was telling me how like uh he sold the jet to oprah and one to um and one to elon musk he's like so

here's what we have to do for elon musk we had to sell in the jet but because there's three million

dollars in profit on the sell we also packaged two hundred and fifty thousand dollars of cdu's uh

the the fucking side-by-sides can oh yeah the yeah side-by-side and all these things for their

facilities so he's getting a jet but he's also getting enough uh uh wherever those fucking uh

side-by-sides are for like starbase like utbs yeah like transports like gators and shit yeah so they

give them like five hundred thousand dollars worth of extra shit they still make twenty two

point five million dollars on the sell right they're thinking we got this we got five million

dollars for free even though they're really not they're just paying more and getting just like

what are you going to give us to this right yeah okay side-by-sides for starlink not starlink for

for elon musk yeah but i mean starlink is elon musk yeah but he was i don't even know if he had it

by then but it was just more like a uh yeah that's what i'm talking about if it's for his companies

yeah yeah so it just it shows it goes to show that like how like in certain worlds like uh

you know say if you own a huge farm and you're gonna probably purchase x amount of john deere

tractors to run your farms you're probably gonna get some kind of incentives that they have well

to justify the millions dollars they're about first buying that if you spend a hundred thousand

dollars on a credit card they're gonna send you a fucking check yeah they're gonna send you a rebate

check because they're they're gonna first of all nothing's free let me tell you that if you know

these people i fell into that it's like the marble points remember the marble don't i get that but

i'm saying i fell into that trap too it's like we're gonna buy everything on credit cards so that

we get the points yeah well i spent so much and fucking interest on that shit that's like we

fucked these points i should have just kept them should have just paid with cash and not spent

yeah so now i don't do not i don't really like to use credit cards but it's the same thing is

it's it's all no matter what they're gonna come out on top the sale the the the debt tour is going

to come out on top the debt t is going to pay for it yeah for sure so after you came down and did

that so the shed that that shed run back in the day was kind of like your introduction that's how

i met all the texas guys okay that's how the iowa guys kind of introduced the texas they had

they had giddy up before that which was the most amazing thing i've ever been i never went to giddy

up um there was another one they had that they're not doing anymore giddy up they don't do anymore

there's another show they weren't they're not they haven't done since probably 18

there was a lone star river run no it wasn't lone star and then they had uh well everything else

that they did that's still going on because maybe it was just giddy up giddy up was the only one

they stopped and giddy up ended in 19 19 they'd already kind of had a falling out between the

partners that are involved 19 was the last year 2020 it was kind of already split and then neither

parties did another event because of like shutdowns so the throwdown oliver's deal was in dallas and

then it got moved to yellow rose once they bought glad bought it and then nitty gritty is still going

on nitty gritty in fucking time how the galveston no nitty gritty was in like just houston proper

but now it's in galveston now it's in between houston and where yellow rose is it's like a

miniature version of horn free texas but it's in like an old country town right or like an old

western town it's a sick little it's a little deal erica's been asking me to go for a couple years

like now it there's always that's the thing with choppers yeah you can't well the thing with choppers

is from fucking february to november i don't have a shit where you're at there's an event

going on every weekend you want to be at a mall like you were talking about the party of the pin

out here yeah shoshing wait that's when you don't want to miss that that show is luke is doing has

is is onto something really really nice there and i think that i think party at the pen ohio

is going to be the east coast born free that's not a bad idea it's going to turn my prediction

and my prediction don't mean anything but i'm just saying if i had to bet money on it

one the guy that puts it on is the salt of the fucking earth yeah uh i mean he's as good as they

come a lot of these good show a lot of these awesome shows fall apart because the guys are

putting them on don't get along they're fighting they all want to go different ways some guys are

piece of shit uh just like bands it's a band the good thing about part of the pen is it's all

under one one guy's in charge and it's one guy's vision and you know i do what i can to help

on it i've helped every single one they've had but at the end of the day it's luke's party and

he does a great job at it and he puts up with a lot more fucking shit than i would there's times

where i'm like yelling at luke like fucking stop letting these motherfuckers do this dude yeah stop

let them walk all over you and what you mean i wouldn't say walk all over you but he's just too

nice yeah so he he's measured he's he's he's he's reading the room he's one thing that i don't think

a lot of people know about luke is he's actually a really small guy he's only about five two

he just looks really big in photos he's mastered the look of getting at the right camera when i met

him i was sitting next to him yeah so you didn't notice bigger you thought he's better he's only

about five he's not five five two three there's no fucking way he's like six five i'm like really

like going back in the fucking in my in my head i'm like hey did he have short legs no he's

fucking gigantic but what's funny is he's delicate well we know he's he's he's out uh the very first

the very first low low there was a picture of him and i walking side by side and he's i'm telling you

he's this much taller than me yeah so for his birthday you ever feel bad like if your wife sees

that photo like i said a picture of me and a close buddy of mine yesterday to my wife

that she does her friends and he like the angle he's like towering me i was like

she doesn't even see that yeah well what happened is though is for his birthday that

year next year yeah i had my buddy photo shot me just a little bit taller than him but it looks

really good so i said happy birthday little guy you know so ever since then him and i have been

sending things back and forth now his son is i think his son jackson who's uh another great i mean

his whole family is the shit yeah uh his son is much taller than me and i think he might even be

taller than luke we've taken a photo where i will stand there and do this and he'll stand next to me

and look up and then we'll photoshop him to where we're looking at each other and where i'm just

like towering over him well that's always been kind of the the prank and then luke will fucking

have something photoshopped me like my birthday where i'm just tiny or my head's gigantic or

something uh last year i took a picture with his wife and made her towering over me like

you were talking about with your best friend the the santa pictures and these things and it

goes back to what you're talking about having the photos here yeah it's like all this shit

you know if you if we were talking about like all these the like the thing about like tom fugal

that i think was so unique and fun is that he photographed his entire everything out all there's

so much history captured and still pristine not pristine but like like it's immortalized

yeah yeah but it's also goes back to what i was saying about tangible shit yeah if you would have

that fucking thing on sd cards and shit how many cards you think have been gone how many things

that would disappear i'll let you on sd cards fuck up dude like you you gotta back up the back

up the back up but like you said if you they have those print on demand things where you can

send a ton of photos in they'll get you a little photo book and and you're good to go and they'll

send you a book of the yeah yeah and the file yeah um dude the party at the pen like i haven't

been yet and obviously the lola run is kind of an invite thing one of my favorite photos

that i actually want to get this printed and i need to stop being a little bitch i need to

reach out to the photographer and buy it it's of haney justin and there's a picture of him

fucking flexing standing on his bike kind of yeah i think he's standing but he's on the bike but

he's flexing and it's just this oh on lolo on lolo yeah we were riding um greg flak took that

photo and it's i love it i love it it's from behind and i he's got his helmet on and i think he's

got his leg up yeah and he's doing this and it's it's so early it's hey to a t right but it's also

like a really great photo action shot yeah yeah it's a really nice i want to fucking get that printed

or get a print from him of that just because a it's a friend of mine but also it's like i love that

photo yeah and i mean i wasn't there to experience it but like i am purveyor of stories and i when

people come to my shop or my house wherever i decide to put that photo if i get it i'll have that story

like that's fucking haney this is the low low run i've heard nothing but great thing you know what

i will tell you about the low low run is if you get invited and you don't go

you're making a mistake 100 you do whatever you can to fucking do it yeah um i went the first year

and i went full gary buc drunk and i didn't get invited back to second

however i smoothed my way back in and i did um i did i've done three of them now and

there is nothing more my wife loves the beach i'm happiest on my bike in the mountains yeah um you

know uh it's it's so mind clearing the beach there's no such thing as a vacant beach there's empty

mountains there's a lot of empty mountains and i the older i get the more i dislike lots of people

yeah i want to be very selective on who i've got that's why i put the gates in nobody's fucking

coming up here unless i let them up yeah um i just there's just something about that low low run that

you know you're doing 12 to 1600 miles in six days on 70 year old motorcycles yeah and

you're in the middle of nowhere uh it's two lane roads through river for through fucking

mountain river bottoms and it's the most beautiful it makes you realize how fucking small you are

um the first time i ever rode that road about four years ago i rode it from mazula going down

to boise and it rained the entire time and we were like this is the sickest thing i've ever been on

as long as you got good rain here it's fucking awesome it's just like the rain did not detour

it was an experience like i can't tell everybody about like traveling on a bike that this place

is sick in the sun it's sick in the winter it's sick in the fucking spring every time you ride this

road the conditions of the weather change the lighting change the road it gives you more things

yes you you're in a car and people a lot of people that don't ride motorcycles will never

understand this but when you're in a car uh who did i see it burt kershner i think asked this guy

tell me what's like right like burt whatever his name is said somebody was explaining to him papa

and he says you don't when you're in a car you don't realize the temperature changes every fucking

20 feet yeah uh that the smells change uh you know you're it being in a car is the equivalent of

like my kids living on their phone you're not paying attention the outside world around you as

soon as you get on a motorcycle especially an old motorcycle because your your senses are already

heightened your sense already heightened because you're there's my do my bearings sound right uh

you know is my motor working is the clutch okay is the fucking transmission slipping you know uh

then you're in the most beautiful scenery on the fucking planet i mean it's i wouldn't say all your

senses are are dialed they're all all those senses are colors are brighter it's like being uh it's

like being a little bit on some mushrooms or something a hundred percent a hundred percent um

it's a lot of things that some of those guys take for granted and i was talking to somebody this

weekend even and they were talking about how pumped they were to be coming to i would ride

through the cornfields and that's what we live on you know but guys that live in the mountains

are pumped about coming down and what ride the cornfields guys are in the cornfields are pumped

about riding up the fucking mountains you know people are on the beach are excited about being

up in the fucking high plains and it's it's all about the best way to experience something

is on a motorcycle yeah we just did with luke um morris him um brek and i and kody from long

gross all rode in the uk for two weeks we didn't even get in a car for two fucking weeks and

we all brought the best rain gear and we spent two weeks riding all over uk on the motorcycle

and we didn't know where we're going every night we'd fucking sleep somewhere wake up and ask somebody

hey where's a cool place to go fucking we headed that way and we lived on motorcycles and the bad

part about that is you had to wear a helmet which you probably always should wear a helmet but

if you can experience something with either just like a three-quarter yeah where you have the wind

on your face and you can get the smells you can get all the temperature changes and shit

that's the best way to do it full faces i get for safety yeah you need to do that but it's uh

it's fucking it's it's uh as spiritual as i will ever get because i'm not a religious person at all

but that's as spiritual as all over yeah dude uk i mean it's a small place but it's full of so much

history and there i mean the landscape when and i'm always speaking from like yeah the the the google

maps we spent a lot of time in wales and there's no highways in wales it's the whole country is two

lane roads that not one of them is fucking straight at all like if you watch um world war two movies

where they're in europe yeah and they you know they just take these small roads into small towns

the wales is still like that yeah we literally stopped at a cemetery where a guy got was buried in

like 1480 next uh you know 30 feet over somebody got buried in 2010 and it's like a lot of these

people spend their whole lives in this small little fucking town yeah um that's wild and don't get to

get out and experience the world and stuff you know of course like what of all the events and

stuff that you've kind of like been able to attend like what are the ones that really speak to you

the most that you've experienced you know is it a show or is it a ride a bathroom just you leaving

this house and you're doing something if a show gives you the ability or if the ride is it like

whatever it is i don't want to i don't want to hit him against i would say

i love shows and texas beaver bash i just told you was probably is one of my favorite things to

go to because it's so small and it's all the homies all yeah you know you're from houston

you're in dallas you're in oklahoma you're on iowa yeah and then we all just go there and again it's

fun uh i'm a little biased for hell on wheels just because yeah it's it's hard to explain hell on

wheels to somebody that hasn't been there but it's you just don't do that every other well we were

doing it every year next year is the 10th year it's not the 10th show it's the 10th year because

yeah after 2020 2020 we had one 2021 we decided we're gonna take the year off and go to everybody

else's show then we had another show in 2022 23 we hit everybody else's show 24 we just had 25 or

off 26 we'll do it again next year what time next year will it be it's august 13th i think i know so

now we gotta go to most people come back from sturgis and hit it like mike that's probably the

best kickstart mike came um uh who did he come with uh roadside marty kickstart mike and roadside

marty came through uh it was great to see those kickstart mikes fucking the man um it's just

it's so hard to explain it because it's it's as close as you'll ever get to what all of these

quote-unquote hipstery new guys that are trying to emulate something it's as close as you'll ever

get to what it was really like yeah because it's literally we take over a whole campground

we take over fucking towns and you're just rolling in yeah it's um but there's no fights

there's never fights there's never egos there's never fucking people kind of attitude it's not a

tough guy show yeah and it's also not a cool guy show you know we're all on bikes we're all

fucking it's it's just we all it's just a good time it's just a fucking great time

yeah the other thing i wanted to kind of talk to you about because and i've alluded i've

you know explained to you earlier how much like it's a fantasy to own a bar it's probably not

something that's reality or practical for me and my habits but it is a fantasy if you want to own

and i sat there and i just the environment this and then as i've done more dives into the people

around here and heard stories of the biker shit that takes place there that kung fu tap yeah

everybody you know crashing in the patio and you know uh someone's telling me a story about

tom fugal slept on somebody's camera one day and he's fucking like this is the shit that like

like that's when you have when you build the temple that they come to it yeah and

jeff has done a great job with kung fu yes i mean it is like you said when you take rides

why are we hitting this town we got to go to this fucking bar when you go through demoin

early when you go through central iowa you have to hit when you get close yeah we got to go to

kung fu gotta get a barrier uh yeah and that's what a lot of kind of jeff and i have talked about

doing a run from nubs to there yeah um or vice versa but a lot of kung fu had a big uh influence

i mean you could tell by being at both bars they got the same kind of feel but had a lot of influence

on this bar and uh i've always wanted a small bar at capacity all the time i got a buddy right now

that just built this gigantic bar that's beautiful in bettendorf but you put a hundred people in

there it feels dead yeah you put 15 people in mind it's like fuck this is where the party's at tonight

too yeah uh and i've always i've love nashville and i love memphis i love the small bars where

there's just a little small stage in the corner there's always a fucking killer blues band or a

killer country band on uh you know there's one bartender and people are just having a good time

and that's exactly what my wife and i did with this place and we didn't do it to make money

and i all my only stipulation with her was as long as it breaks even i'm fucking happy yeah it

starts costing us money it's time to fucking move on uh and we've been lucky enough that it's

we're still relatively new but it's done pretty well so for the people listening though like

there's i started hearing stories when i met you last year about the private part yeah the private

bar yeah where you had people wanting like showing up because they heard about it and no idea who they

were yeah kind of like what i did and i you showed me where it was i'm like they're just knocking on

the on the back door yeah well so we out the we were going out the back door of that shop

their staircase okay yeah so there's a lot there's a big parking on the back um cool so what was

what was it like having the private bar you know and and like why did you have that in the first

place like why did you create the private bar uh my wife and i collect we've got enough of this

stuff to do probably two of these houses yeah two bars you know and i just love this i love old

memories i love old i love history yeah especially when it like cross paths crosses paths with

motorcycles or vintage outboos or you know the golden area of motors motorcycles and cars which

is like the 50s and the 60s you know where it was cars were sexy yeah i think we're getting away

from a lot of that yeah there might be some cool cars now but cars were elegant cars were sexy

cars were who you were back in the 50s and the 60s you know they every year you can look at a car

and say well that's a 56 Chevy oh that's a 62 impala you know that's a 74 fucking forward once

you get to 70 things kind of cross but i mean the 50s and the 60s they change the mold every year

yeah there's a there's a new impala from 58 all the way to 70 i believe every year yeah different

year yeah that's when they start and then they after 70 they started barely changing yeah they do

nowadays they'll do 10 fucking years or what's the what's the what's the g-van they do that for 30

fucking years never change the thing on it that's what i yeah so i g the g 10 20 and 30 yeah they're

all identical until the express came out it makes it easier i can get a 95 with all the bells and

whistles but i'm like hey i'm slumming it over here yeah you got a g-van i got a g 10 i was gonna

drive on the strip 95 i've got a fender flare kit for that thing i got fender flares i got a

all full fender flare i have bigger wheels on it that's that's right that's so there i had the

small kragers on it and they don't make lower control arms and so we first bought it and was

riding around on it it would bottom out and and drag the cross member in the in the lower control

arms you got to put air shocks on the front and then air them up to make a stiffer yeah and so we

were like you know what man and what if we just throw some we had you know 16 kragers popped out

i'm from the 90s dude i like big wheels so we put 20s on it 20 wide one so it has more of a

muscular stance not a like a rapper dubs kind of stance you know i mean even until when do they

start having 22s i mean that had to been like the mid 2000s i was in high school in the 90s bud

the 20s the 20s were as big as it got when we were kids the 20th wheel like really changed like

that was where like oh cars are kind of cool yeah but it spoke to me you know well that's when

the newer cars kind of got cool yeah yeah for sure to this day like a camaro or an el camino

or something on kragers is is is top tier my my my uh uh mount rushmore impala is a 65 because i

love the the circle taillights with like some some like a kragers style or supreme's 20 inch

like tough guy wheels tucked in it like a muscle car yeah but lowered slant i like lowered shit

and but that's my car like i'm not a 64 guy i i they they're beautiful i'm not a 58 guy or 59

i love 59 yeah 59 is iconic i mean what the fucking the with the cat eye taillights on a 59

there's nothing cooler it's crazy to go from a 58 being so bubbly and kind of like a an old

school Chevy you know uh i mean they completely redesigned the fit and then it went from like

bubbly and kind of like like stout to long and like low to long and swooping yeah side fun or

side flares deep ones i painted one for yeah but they weren't or side fins they weren't fins

like a Cadillac yeah that were vertical 59 had horizontal fins yeah uh 60 had horizontal fins

yep uh but the 59 is my absolute favorite i love a 58 but a 59 gm did everything right in 59 the

Cadillac was perfect the Buick is perfect the Oldsmobile is perfect the Chevrolet is perfect

everything gm did in 59 they could they've never been able to top dude they they they

couldn't miss yeah yeah i'm trying to find a picture of my band right quick to show you

i have to pee again good say wait yeah i do like those 20 uh torque thrusts yeah yeah

i'm not trying to say they're like super expensive it's just a look and i dig it you know what i'm

i thought you had creased fucking like door panels no no like tuck and roll but that's no no

see the ridges it's the fucking it's the it's the wall it was the door panels

so my wife and i have gone back and forth because we kind of want a sprinter van but if we buy a

sprinter van it's going to sit in the driveway until we need it but we'll go cruise the van

on the on sunday we'll hey you want to take the van down there's not again there's something very

soulful about driving an older vehicle dude it you slow down you don't even you're one with

why do i want to go fucking below the speed limit right now but you're one with the car it is you

know what i mean that's how i feel riding the chopper now that i've got 40 miles under my belt

yeah so i absolutely love uh my wife's alcamino is fun as fuck to drive there's a whole oh yeah

i love i do love those wheels a lot it's still slammed three and a half drop you know but again

like we were talking about chevy didn't change the fucking box of that thing from the 70s yes

they didn't change it till the express came out 96 actually i think the express in this

overlapped each other so 96 they changed it that's when the astro van came out

and then the they have astro vans in 80s well

but the astro van was oh yeah you're right yes i know you're talking about now

when did chevy discontinue the g van 95 or 96 was or 95 was the last year 1996 96 okay okay when did

chevy start the express van or the astro no no no the express when did chevy introduce the express

1996 so this i could have sworn the express was earlier than that but they discontinued the g

and started the express which the express van now has not changed it has not yeah you could buy a

2025 express it looks just like a 1996 express yeah for 30 years you know what i mean and like the

fucking parts are almost interchangeable yeah and 96 is when the vortex came out so the tbi was

up to 95 and then 96 is when i to my knowledge is when you started seeing vortex motors which

then turned into the ls motor stuff you know i'm saying if it wasn't already a ls bottom

i'm not very versed in that world so i could be full of shit no one is weird uh i'm not very

versed in the new car stuff either so you know with this whole um the venture going into the uh

the bar and everything it's like we we did the drive we we left your house we counted the bars

for two and a half miles we hit what 22 23 bars 23 bars here to the other end of the time in 2.3

miles and it's just something that i've talked about so much maybe to a nauseam to the listeners

about like what it's like for the people that are south or in california or whatever these midwest

towns the bars are part of communities 100 percent you know 100 percent this isn't for

people listening it's not like we we get down off this hill it's a neighborhood it's a neighborhood

for you know at least two miles at least two miles yeah and there's 20 bars 15 bars 15 bars

yeah between here and downtown in all neighborhoods all neighborhoods and this isn't that's one

street that's not jumping a street over a street down that's how many are on just one street one

straight roads there's that many bars through neighborhoods um somebody had posted something

on mine one time that they would put england against america in a drinking contest and somebody

comment it back and said i wouldn't put england against wisconsin because the midwest drinks

so much yeah you know uh when we were over there we're trying to rage and they're shutting the

bars down at fucking 10 o'clock yeah and it's like what the fuck we drank till three eight

we didn't go through your head at home this fall off she off the clip oh it's just my dirt

um i go to florida and you know even florida is a big drink in place but like i i grew up here

and then my mom moved to florida so i would jump back and forth and i would go back and see my

high school friends and i'm just getting warmed up and these motherfuckers like all right put it to

motherfuckers yeah we're fucking party up there dude yeah there's like a i mean a lot of the places

i frequent this not north it tends to have that kind of vibe it's like the bar closes i mean even

after covid like things they they creeped it back a lot of places closes at 12 now there's only a few

places south it like started to remain at that 2 a.m mark covid definitely put a a damper in uh

a lot of the way businesses did things also i don't know if covid really did it or if it was just

when we noticed it people aren't people don't have to go out anymore to meet people yeah you can sit here

in your underwear and fucking scroll through and meet and talk to women or or if you're a woman

to men or whatever you're into yeah back in the day you had to go out to meet people you had to go

to this bar and see who's there then you had to go to that bar and see who's there you had to go

to that restaurant you had to go to that bowling alley you had to go out and be active yeah nowadays

people just sit in their fucking couches and they don't have a need for stuff like that or what if

like you go to that bar down there and there's like a chick that walks in it's like oh this girl's

beautiful and then you go back every day wait and see if she's gonna come back see if she comes back

so you can fucking that's what you used to have to do yeah because we're old and that's how we used

to have to do it yep um my wife when first time i ever saw her she walked into a bar and i was

fucking smoked and i walked up to her and i said you are fucking checking every box of everything

i love in a woman and we're sitting there talking and i hear did you just shit your pants and i

turn around and some dude's like talking to me and i'm like no and you can see through the entire bar

behind us everybody's like oh my god so obviously it wasn't me because we couldn't smell it there

like she couldn't smell and then you all of a sudden need to smell it wasn't where i walked

for anything so i just literally just turned around looked at her i was like all right nice to

meet you and i just turned around walked away so then i fucking stopped her online like i remember

i've got her name i got her i've got her cousin's name and then looked at her cousin's page and i

found her yeah took about six months to get her to go on a date with me and uh we we went on a

we're on a hot rod power tour in my 68 Cadillac to Memphis Tennessee oh that's it that was our first

date and we've been together ever since we literally the i think up until recently when i spent a

couple weeks away when we were in europe the longest we'd ever spent apart is a couple days

like we're always together um we fight like brother and sister but it's always just bicker

and it's nothing ever fun that's another thing like i mean my wife we're talking about this

today it's like the earlier days like we've had like fights where i have to go drive i got to

fucking calm down now we get into like we we bitch about funny things that we can like laugh about

like you know like she says oh man you know i mean nice of you you know did the did the dishes

once in a while and i'm like you know and then i have some kind of nice to be made some money

once in a while we just go back and forth right um but there's no like i think we were talking about

this earlier it's like it literally is like i i found this weird place where when i started this

podcast me and my wife were we were married you know that was my chick that's my girl but i wouldn't

say that we're friends yeah like that wasn't my home girl that wasn't the chick that i want to kick

it with like and then once she became that it's like wow oh this you know i feel so bad for all

the things i said on a podcast about how like oh you're never gonna find a real like your friends

are the best thing ever like you know and they they are and they're still validity and all that

but it's like once now that where i'm at now i'm like yo like there is a there's a threshold

in a relationship with a woman when you cross it and you'd cross it on the right terms on all

fronts yeah there is some kind of like very euphoric there's something about being with a woman

that you 100 trust yes uh you know like my woman has access to every fucking thing i've got she

knows where all my money's stashed she knows what bank she's on all my banks i'm not worried about

a fucking thing yeah uh you know the only time i'm ever like worried about anything is like

she's gonna take my car and fucking accidentally hit something like that's the worst i gotta worry

about so i don't have to worry about her being at the bar and dudes fucking hitting on her and her

fucking you know um one she's just never been like that like she's never even really like that

floating with even me yeah uh that she would do that with other people you know and she married me

so what the fuck is she gonna do this without it you know what i mean um but like my previous

relationships there was a lot of things where i'd had to hide who i was what i was doing i haven't

ever had to do any of that with her she knows exactly you don't have to live a double life yeah

i don't have to live even if it wasn't like a like a i was fucking around double life but

you know when you it's like that you see those memes every once like i've never seen him smile

this much when he holds a fish like this is him you know what i mean it's like there there's gotta be

a version of that right well i mean other than vacations where she wants to go

we're into the same thing she loves going to these bike shows she loves fucking for the most

part riding on bikes now we're getting older our bodies are hurting so she doesn't want to do

500 miles on a fucking 42 knucklehead hardtail yeah with no seat padding on the seat but

she goes these events and it's to the point now where if i show up these events without her the

first thing everybody says is where's jen at you know they're not saying how you're doing it was

where's jen yeah you know and the same thing happens to her if she goes to something i'm not at

first thing people say is where's jeff yeah you know like everybody knows that we're a unit and

we're together and it's uh it's kind of a good feeling and i hope my kids end up with something

that someday but that that it's like having a good dog they're having a good daughter dog dog oh

fuck you know like you have a you don't like they just it's not that way at the beginning

but it takes a lot of ass beatings to get that woman i mean dog where they need to be

it just it's something you earn by by attention and affection yeah and consistency inconsistency

yeah and then your next day you got it you know yes that that's and that is in and that is a

comparing a woman in a relationship to a good dog yeah in a good way in a good way not a bad way

um i'll tell you what though i like dogs more than most humans yeah so when people get offended

by stuff like that it's like that's like one of the best compliments i can give you yeah you know

what i mean like uh that is pretty sick what's in my dog yeah he that dog in there uh he was

he was my best friend when i had nothing he went everywhere with me he couch hopped with me he went

up he moved to florida with me he moved back from florida with me he would ride on the gas tank

on my motorcycle at fucking 70 miles an hour and just sit there uh i had a jet ski and i would back

the jet ski in the water he would jump out of the i tied to the dock he would jump out of my truck

run to the end of the dock sit on that jet ski while i parked my truck and then i'd put his

little life jacket on him and he'd sit between my legs on this jet ski fucking 70 miles an hour

through the water and he he would you know he wouldn't sit he'd keep his legs but he was he was

over the over the fucking waves he would fucking spring himself to where he was holding and he

loved it he i would i never had him on a leash he'd go he'd go to the bar with me and sit under

the bar stool everybody knew him he went through a lot of hard things he never left he slept in

my room every night until the night my daughter came home and then he slept next to her for her

entire for the rest of his life oh he would sleep next to her bed for the rest of his life a lot of

videos i've got of her being young like i bought her a little electric four-wheeler and we lived in

town them i got this video where she was like a block down the road and that dog was just sniffing

everything around her she's she'll get ahead and he'll notice she's ahead and he'll follow her

he'll stay he would stay right with her i would get up in the morning and we lived in a neighborhood

and get up in the morning i'd open the front door he'd run outside take a shit take a piss i'd

go upstairs shower come back in he'd be standing on the front door ready to come back in never left

the yard the only time he ever left the yard is when people would come by and think he was a stray

and pick him up take him in the fucking main society so they'd call me and say hey your dog's

back up here i have to go here and get the dog um but that right there was probably tied with losing

my best friend gram my grandfather or my mother those are the four hardest hits i've ever taken

was that fucking dog and i knew i didn't want to get him cremated i knew i wanted to see him

see him again everybody thought it was weird to have him freeze dried but Oliver had his dog

freeze right that's how i saw it yeah so i was down at his tattoo shop you know five years ago or so

and i collect weird taxidermy too some of my officer and i was like what's up with the dog

like i'll get a fucking stuffed dog he's like no that's i can't remember his dog's name was

i said what are you talking about he says so i had her freeze right so was that does that look

like her because most taxidermy doesn't look like the animal they just get it he's like no it looks

just like her so i started looking into it and i found a guy and he told me like when he dies

is what you gotta do and uh you know with the day i put him down gen do not to be around the house

the kids were all gone i took just me and him over there like i had to do it myself took him over

i put him down fucking lost it brought him home i had to put him in a fucking freezer i'd freeze him

solid and that was tough it's like yeah what if he's still alive and i'm just gonna freeze him

death right now me was gone but um put him in a bag frozen took him to the freeze dryer guy

and he had him for like eight months well he called me right before psych cycle showcase in st

louis okay so i drove down for cycle showcase picked him up and i stayed at this shitty hotel

like it was a seedy fucking hotel and you know i'm sure some of these people brought some really

weird things in the hotel i'm walking in with a stuffed dog and i'm thinking oh my god what are

they fucking thinking you know but i got him in the hotel room and i just laid on the bed with him

you know just fucking looked at online just it's it's not weird i get to see him for the rest of

my life and when i die i want um that dog's gonna be buried with me that's cool like that dog that

dog saved my life more times than one just just by being a present fucking dog that yeah was always

with me they say like therapy is about it's not about somebody having answers for you it's about

somebody listening president yeah you know and so a dog can be a lot for somebody simply by being

their president like that dog was happy every fucking time i came home uh he would go to work

with me he'd sit in the front seat of my truck like that dog would i'm telling you i'd go to the

grocery store he would walk right with me the dog fucking never left my side uh will breed

he's an anguish bulldog okay um and then you get maybe nine ten years out of them fucking that

dog was almost 14 years old when he died and the vet with the reason i had to put him down is not

because his body shut down because his brain so he's already getting dementia so he would like

just sit there and piss on himself and then i just give him a bath and i have to buy him a new bed

and the next night the next morning i wake up he piss over himself but the vet would be like

man this dog's really healthy what do you see this i feed him table scraps oh you can't do that

i said the fucking your toe is one of the healthiest fucking dogs you've ever seen

and i'm just it's how granddad did it it's how bad did it i said that dog is gonna eat steak for

the rest of his fucking life um all that shit you put in that dog food yeah and they always say

like it's human grade i'm like well this is human yeah this is human grade so why would i do less

grade yeah um so these are dogs now they know if we're eating it they're eating it yeah my wife

was not a big fan of that dog simply because he's stunk you know he was a fucking shitter um

and i already had him when we got together she's raised these three since we they were puppies

so she's even though i don't want to bring food home she's bringing food home from from the

from the house so she gets it now she gets with with her well i'll be like just leave this crap

to look like no these dogs were getting some steak tonight you know that's awesome uh she is

she was not a dog person until we got these i've always wanted a dog i've just i travel so much

and my wife told me straight up because she had a dog that she had to take her with a previous

previous relationship and she gave me the ultimate the same way i gave her ultimate with a cat

i hate cats she wanted a cat and i said i'm not fucking doing anything i'm not cleaning shit

i'm not fucking you know any of that and so when i wanted a dog she said okay i'm not doing i'm not

walking it i'm not taking it in the back yard i'm not doing anything it's your responsibility my

responsibility and man i just why don't you get a dog well you're on your motorcycles

i'm gonna say why don't you get a dog that you can take these trips with it's uh

man like i've always thought about it i've always wanted a dog i've never grown up with a dog

really i've always had i've never had a dog my dad's a big dog guy too but i've i've also like

i've always been around people that have the dog i want and it's unfortunate because

it's kind of like it's kind of like a lot of things that you have or like here and your lifestyle

and choppers in general like it's not something you just buy it's something you acquire it's

something you gotta have the right thing you can't just grab well i don't know i mean oliver's

got two amazing dogs that just happened to come to him he's got two stray dogs that end up being

the greatest dogs ever you know um but i think a lot of that has to do with the owners too i mean

you've never had a dog so you'll probably absolutely hate it for a while but it'll end up being

something where you're like i can't live without this thing there's probably gonna be a time in my

life i mean i i still travel too much i'm still i'm i'm too i'm just too active you know i'm not

home enough consistently to be able to be that kind of thing well it's like having another newborn

yeah i mean it like if i had a dog in my 20s i would i would have been better suited yeah because

i was home more you know my my routine was drop my kid off at school go to work pick her up at

after school and then we would go to a lowrider shop and i would airbrush hood murals

at a lowrider shop till like 10 o'clock at night my daughter is just like hanging out with me

listening to deaf tones and pink floyd and shit like that you know they probably shaped her a lot

too that's heavily that scene probably shaped her who she is as a person it is like she's which

goes back to the hot rods and motorcycles and all the other that lifestyle of of uh uh there's a

fucking but i mean at the time too like i was i was still i've never been a homebody but now that

you know there's a picture of you and you got michael lichter in that photo with you guys in there

when i when i met him and got to hang out at his house and do a podcast in Colorado yeah yeah

when i did that it was the first person's house i was ever in that felt like this i felt like i was in

his house in his life in his mind yeah the things that inspire him the things that he loves were

on the wall it wasn't some facade to show the world look we're also into you know pottery

farm or you know whatever the fuck it was like no it's like this is it's art from the people

he's met over the years photographs books that people have seen him or he's acquired uh it there's

just so much of him in that house and it that that encounter changed a lot of me my house has

been a slow transition to being your house should be a representation of you not a representation

of what you want people to think of you exactly um you know you talk that fucking toboggan over

there behind that is was my dad's and we call it the widowmaker it has one of our friends

hit a sled and fractured his whole fucking arm i had to go through actually my dad's best friend

my my best friend's dad yeah had to go through like six months of fucking therapy it's i can't

tell you how many fucking people it's knocked out uh that thing will kill you yeah and i put it up

as a fucking memory like i've had a bunch of my buddies you get so fast when you get four people

on that fucking thing the tears will just come shooting down your fucking side of your face

and it's like it's like national lampoons where he fucking greases the bottom of that sled

and shoots out until this is flame um but that's what it is though everything in here is a memory

of something all right it might be bar time soon yeah no we can start wrapping it up i felt like

we've uh that was a good one i was thought we were only gonna have like 30 minutes for this

fucking ship that's been we've had cocaine talks without cocaine exactly i think you know like the

the first night at the beaver bass last year we like i think we bonded over like old r&b oh yeah

remember that yeah we were talking about some old r&b shit from like the 90s and stuff and

boys the men boys the men and fucking jagged it oh yeah he's sweat he's sweat

yeah it's i mean you and i are the same we're a fucking year apart yeah so i mean we both grew up

on the same mtv you know what i mean on the same fucking car magazines yep um

it's not like i'm trying to talk to a 25 year old guy that's trying to oh that's us dude

well that they you know the stuff that was new for us like fucking dr dray's the chronic

is classic for him to listen to you know so he's experiencing a different way that'd be like me

talking to my dad about uh linard skinnerd uh because the way i perceive it as a classic music

he had it in real time yeah um or the cultures even same thing with motorcycles you know everything

resorts back to that kind of same uh subcultures of things yeah you know yeah we're definitely

going through different phases like that but you know podcasts youtube videos i think uh

tiktok is making grunge era 90s popular again amongst new younger people like they're now

discovering it yeah they're discovering limp biscuit and deaf tones and fucking you know corn and

you know shit like please don't say it please don't say it it's happening i hate hate hate

turkove i think it's more new metal shit oh oh you mean like two thousands i think it's more

new metal and lincoln park yeah i think grunge so like got bands like deaf tones is like on that

cusp of like they could be considered grunge but they can also but they're out there the front

runners of like limp biscuit and yeah and if you think about raging against the machine

they're technically in the grunge era they were grunge era but they were more of a new metal sound

exactly yeah so i think you know so you get into that kind of a mix of things where

like my 15 year old son it like knows what a deaf tones is you know or what deaf tones are and

is getting into all that shit my daughter just grew up around this shit yeah i always tell people

like me and my daughter daughter grew up together you know it's true though yeah well i had her when

i was uh 19 years old and you know like yeah make sure you don't make sure make make sure you

grew up real fucking fast though yeah i mean that's what i said i told you i didn't drink till i was

30 which is very commendable for you i mean having a kid a leader fucking make you a piece

of shit or solidify you're a good dude the fact that you had a kid at 19 and decided not to party

until she was 10 you know i just wanted to you know and i i was growing and becoming an airbrush

guy and a custom painter and i just had your priorities in a different place i just wanted

to be good i wanted to be i didn't want to be broke you know i didn't want to be broke that's

what i need to fucking put on my license plates i just didn't want to be broke yeah and and you

know there's little wins i tell people all the time i i've explained to my son i was like success

is different for everybody man hundred percent you know you know you could you could associate

success with the house on the hill or whatever car you want and these material things but to me

it's just it's freedom freedom you know i told you that well about the money thing it doesn't

matter about how much money you got i'm a fucking chaser of the freedom of what money will allow me

to have um now i won't have to chase as much when my kids get older because i won't have to make as

much money to make them happy yeah um and i you know success is uh uh what's the word i'm looking

for uh i can't think of the word right now um success is in the eye of the beholder essentially

yes yeah uh you know some people and i remember my stepdad when i first started making some money

i was talking to my stepdad about we're fucking killing and he told me he's like it's not about

money i'm like the fuck it ain't well now that i'm older it's like i get what he's saying i should

have slowed down i should have spent some more time with my fucking kids um but at the same time

if i wouldn't have slowed down we wouldn't be right now so i mean it's a catch 22 on both sides

yeah um yeah you've got to play it by ear pretty much i mean like now your kids are at an age where

you can really be much more uh you can be around but you can also like provide them now we can be

more friends yeah you can't do it when they're younger you can't be their fucking friends yeah

you can be nice to them but you still have to be you can't make your kids when they're younger

think that you're equals because you're fucking not yeah when they get older now we're equals

or somewhat yeah once you start paying your own bills you're an equal to me until then

you got to let me lead and it's the same thing with businesses you know when you're a fucking boss

you can't have your employees all in there thinking that we're all fucking equal because

we're not yeah you know what i mean i'm the one that put all the skin in this game yeah um

you know you're not trying to hold it over anybody's head but it's like look you got to do what i

said because my way is the way they did this you know and like your attitude and your your

entitlement right now could make or break this company by allowing you to have that can kind of

control like look i hired you to do that do that if you can't do that yeah what are we doing here

all right jeff good time in closing i had a great time man i did too i think i think we're

going to head down so the steak was fucking fire it wasn't not the best it was great i used that when

i'm trying to fucking schmooze fucking big wigs on companies dude i'm so glad i'm probably the

brokeest dude you've actually schmoozed oh no no you're not you're you're you got a lot you got

a you're rich in many ways the bar i mean the restaurant the friendship you have with uh i forget

Jeremy and what was the bar's name again or the restaurant duck city duck city be sure to

dive in for it first off amazing steak perfect it really was perfect what i love about it is

i've been eating there for 25 years it tastes the same today as it did 25 years ago and for

my audience they know i like a one sauce i didn't even ask for no no no need for it didn't need it

i didn't think to have anyone in that restaurant i mean it's a five star restaurant in down for

yeah um the sauce the uh the potatoes that what was the solo cheese yeah that was fire it's all

together is perfect yeah um and now we're gonna go slaying some shots and sing some karaoke at
