Let's crack on with some car updates and and updates with with yourselves. How how was your holidays start

with Chad? How are you Chad?

How have your holidays been so far?

You back at work and what's been happening in your world, my friend? Yeah, not a lot.

I've worked through saving my holidays for a holiday later this year. So I yeah, it's it's been quiet.

Work's been very quiet. So yeah, it's been, you know,

carefree sort of thing. I've spent a little bit of time

at home over the days off. Are the main days off best?

Things, yeah, I think isn't it the traffic?

'S so good yeah. It's just amazing like there's

just nobody on the road and honestly it's hasn't felt like that for a couple of Christmases I don't know why, but this year is like really quiet like especially.

So no, it's been good. I've been enjoying it.

I've spent a lot of time in the office these days.

So it's been, yeah, it's it's been good.

Well, that's complaints. Really.

Yeah. Are we doing car updates now?

Yeah, man, Straight into it, dude, straight into it.

Well, not not much. The report on my end.

I helped a friend of mine with his Navara so we put some like Pathfinder front guards and doors on his Pathfinder just so it was a little bit more tidy and straight.

It's mainly because all the other panels were buckled on it.

So we spent a day doing that like all of Boxing Day.

So they're. A bit, yeah.

Pumped out the Pathfinder guards compared to.

Yeah, nice. So the Pathfinder guards are

pumped and they also have over fenders as well, like clip on over fenders. So we took the over fenders off

the clip on stuff and sure enough, yeah, it's got like this pumped, very pumped guards on the front and well, the rear is obviously just a tub. So the rear is narrow, narrow

looks good. Yeah, it's, you know, straighter

and yeah. So just worked on that really

and IA little update on the civic.

I managed to chase down the person who hit it.

Hi. So I, yeah, I had a couple of,

sorry, one of my neighbours came over while I was working on the car that day, one of the days and said, look, I think I saw the car, the truck that hit your car and gave me the rego and the date and stuff. So I was like perfect, man, this

is amazing. And I, I tried to, I mean, I

couldn't really find anything. So I went to the police station

and they said, look, we'll try and find the owner and get him to, you know, at least exchange details or whatever.

Strong enough. They got back to me with

something and I went over to this house a couple of times that the address that they gave me and nobody there.

I think maybe like a couple of the times I came over to the studio beforehand, I would drop past and see if it was home because I didn't have a contact number for this guy and all I had was his name and address basically.

And yeah, so I couldn't find him.

And then I don't remember what day it was, maybe last Saturday, the Saturday before. I just thought I'll just drop

past again. I was in the area, sure enough

they were having a BBQ out the back.

So I went up to him and I just said hey man, look I've been trying to get in contact with you regarding such and such and the guy spoke like 0 words of English.

So somewhere at the BBQ end up translating and you know, we, we came to the understanding that it was his boss's truck.

So he gave me his boss's number. I rang him and I said look, I'm

in Sydney, I'll be back, such and such date.

Anyway, I gave him a couple of times to sort of get in contact with me, just to like try and make time, you know, just to meet and have a talk. And anyway, we eventually, I met

him at the Glenroy Coles yesterday, just in the car park.

So I just said look man, this is what's happened.

I'm not sure if anyone, yeah, I was like, I'm either going to get rolled here or like something's going to happen.

Anyway. It was a bit of a loose cannon

and I was like, I'm going to, I'm going to try and keep it as simple as possible. At least it was in a public

place though, So that was, you know, on my side.

Anyway, I just said, look, man, just I've already had to replace the door because the window wouldn't go up and down.

So I'm already about to pay for that.

And then I just need like a few 100 bucks for respraying it just so much as the rest of the car. Like it's a it's a red door at

the moment, right. And he said, you know, brother,

I can get it fixed for you. This that.

I'm like, man, look, I really don't want to go through insurance. Like, I can, I have all your

details now. I can go through insurance and

you'll get pinged for like $1000, right?

For a door. Yeah.

And I just said, he said, all right, yeah, just give me a number. I just said just look, just give

me 400 bucks and I'll just call it even, right?

Like I can't even want to dealing with this.

Like it's already taken me, you know, basically hours just to get to this point. And he said, no, he just pulled

out of water catch and gave it to me.

So I was like, all right, man, take an easy catch later and that was it. So I got a couple hundred, a few

100 bucks to go towards the the paint or the wrap of the civic, whatever will end up happening. So yeah, that's sort of settled.

I don't have to bother with that anymore, which is nice.

So Chad, Chad, just want to clarify, was it was it the boss that hit your car or was it the driver?

It was his worker, like his driver that was driving it at the time. Apparently he left me a note on

the windscreen, but no such thing.

Or, or at least maybe he did, but it blew away or something.

Like I, I didn't see it, but I the, my neighbour also said he just drove away. So I don't believe the guy, you

know, for a second. But yeah, yeah, I really doubt

it. Anyway, all settled in the end,

you know, I'm glad someone was nosy enough to look at what was happening on the street that day.

So I got kind of lucky in that sense, otherwise I just would not have been able to get any details.

So yeah, that's, that's it. That's really it on my end.

I really haven't done any path. I've just been busy with

Christmas, you know? Period, I guess.

And and what did Santa get you, Chad?

Santa got me a nice three tonne Jack from Supercheap Auto, one of the beefy ones which I I'm I'm yet to use.

I still haven't like got out there and sort of apparently I have to service it. It says something like you have

to service it before you use it or something.

You gotta put oil in. I've got the oil if you need it.

Oh, that's what I need. OK, Right.

I haven't even got that far to. Yeah, see what I need.

I'll grab some of that off you, I guess.

Yeah. Because I had to do the same, I

got the same 1. I had to do the same with.

Mine. Oh, nice.

Just a couple of gift cards. Like, you know, I've got 2 super

cheap out of gift cards, so I'll take those.

teach grade sixes. Anyway, cast stuff, not really

that much. Went up to Phillip Island over

New Year's for a couple nights and saw a nice red mini moke up there for sale. Fully redone, white interior and

that. I think it was about 30

something grand he was after. 34 1/2 Leopardized force.

A lot of it's a lot of money for a skateboard, isn't it?

Yeah. It's quite literally escaped

AOL. I saw a guy post on Instagram

the other day that the, the original Sierras are now going to be the same thing from the 80s.

He, he posted, is this the new Moke?

Because down on the peninsula, I, I can remember probably 20 years ago now, but I remember seeing a Moke on the side of the road, $500. And I thought, well, that'll

make a cool little card just to keep at the beach house, you know. And yeah, next year there were

three or four of them on on plates.

And then the the prices have just gone nuts from there.

But these little Sierras from I think sort of late 80s, eighty, 688, that sort of shape there was, he saw three of them in the Bleg Area Yacht Club car park. So it's looks like they're going

to be the next one. So buy them up while you can.

Oh yeah, sure. Yes, I took the we drove the

blade up there and back and it was beautiful.

New Year's and too hot and now raining today.

And what did Santa get you? A really nice GDR shirt.

It's like a few of the GDRS are not all of them.

else was there? I think Santa buys that in bulk,

Christmas present for myself, I got a steering wheel for the PC.

Yeah, so I've been having to go at that, having a bit of fun.

The Mozart R5. Yeah, awesome direct drive.

Yeah that's the one I got. Just been playing a bit of Aceto

Corsa and all the mods and downloading stuff.

Extra cars and tracks and that which makes it even.

you? Yeah, not much.

So obviously still on the holidays now.

So I just haven't done a lot. Just been at home chilling.

Go back to work next week, which is always exciting.

But then I'm off to Vietnam next month, which will be fun and.

Interesting. Don't be fun.

Yeah, for for just under 2 weeks, so little breaks.

Look forward to that car stuff. Look not a lot or maybe a little

bit of obviously from the last time show you guys remembered.

But obviously I had the got my car back and I was doing all the the work done from the insurance money I got.

So all new suspension has been fitted in.

So brand new Doberson's 2 inch lift kit, front and rear all done. So new rear leaves and newfound

shocks are in replace both Dr shafts because the boots are completely obliterated themselves from so a lot of it do we need to be replaced. So I've got them got brand new

ones, new ball joints, new bushes, pretty much the whole all suspension has been redone in that car and Matt it it drives like it just left the in factory in 2006.

Matt, it's absolutely fantastic. Everything is tight, nothing is

rattling it. It just feels planted.

It's it's it's great. Don't get me wrong, like still,

you know, obviously being leaf sprung in the rear.

No, and currently no weight in the tub and especially like a day like today when I was going to see my dad.

They're very tail happy. The car definitely was

definitely was committing a bit of Street Oak a few St.

Fights, of course. Highlights of all things.

Yeah, but regardless, the, the car drive's fantastic.

I'm, I'm, I'm very happy with it.

So I think all that's left to do is to remove the damaged tub, put a tray on it, obviously with the toolbox in the back and drip a 12 Volt set up. I want to like go away camping.

And then if depending how I'm feeling, because I'm not really a big fan of my bull bar, I might change it up.

But I don't want to spend too much money on that car.

Kind of just want to leave it where it is.

So that's the Hilux my dad actually did pick up the other day O 9C200 compressor, which is nice which he picked up for a steal of 1500 bucks which they because they thought they bent the valve once in a diabetic mechanic looked at it it was all right bought a whole new timing chain kit replacement kit will cover 100 bucks and got himself a really decent car for you know just under 2 two yeah just under 2 1/2 running driving 200,000

kilometres it's clean very nice car because he's.

He's. Sorry.

I was just saying what a deal. And then he just as well picked

up another for $300.00, a BMW 1 Series 118I with 160,000

kilometres. Now we're going into it knowing

we thought it was puffing a lot of smoke and the guy thought, no, the motor was gone, piston rings were gone.

So Dad's like I, I'll buy the spy of this guy for 300 bucks.

Valve stems for sure. Yeah, I have to obviously

potentially get a new motor. Turns out some person put 10

litres of oil in there. Now don't ask why but it was

this way challenge explains Yeah why he was obvious smoking a shit tonne. So we drained it out re topped

it up and made another steel. I mean he replaced sorry in

that. So he besides trading the oil we

replaced the $50 PVC hose. So for 350 bucks bought himself

at BMW 118I which is CI. Nice looking car, just some M

support trim on it or whatever. Whether it's it came from

factory or some other person, it was clean, it was owned by an old lady. So that's two bargains he's

picked up and I've been driving around in the meantime because the better thing than drive a Hilux 27.

So that that's good. And as well, I've been on a bit

of a bit of a mission in Glasson Park.

Actually, I reside in Roxy. So funny enough, next to my

boss's house there's for a couple of months now there's a blue S15 that's just been sitting there now.

You're talking. And now I haven't seen her

running and driving. The passenger window has been

cracked down a little bit dropped and the body is a bit rough now. I don't I don't know if there's

an engine bar. I've gone multiple times already

and knocking on his door just to get some information on the car has an answer. So I'm just going to keep

testing my luck and just keep hoping one day your answers.

But it is a 200SX I was delivering models.

There's. A silver factory 6B turbo Sr in

TV 3 blue. It's a nice colour.

Good colour, my favourite colour in those.

Yeah, and look, it seems bodies all stock besides it's got the seat on this on one space saver and some shitty aftermarket rims from the early 2000s. But yeah, look, it's it seems

everything's there. Obviously I'm hoping he answers

his door one day so they're not going to talk.

Ask him. Is it still registered?

No plates on it. Wow, he's brave.

So it's just, it's literally just sitting there in plain sight and I see. It hasn't been next.

So I don't know, I want to ask him and just give and just offer him, just give him a number and hopefully he'll take it.

Yeah, because I was, I saw him on the bit of the quarter.

It is a bit, you know, rough. Not terrible, but.

But how you going you? Need to respray all clear coats

all gone and everything. Yeah.

But being a dodgy Arab, I am looking through the window.

All all interior is there. It's complete relatively clean.

Dash is clean, seats aren't torn carpets there.

Mats are surprisingly there as well.

So what do you reckon that Carl should be worth?

Also, I've been discussing with my mates and my dad if look, if there's no, if there's no motor in there and box or just a box, but no motor and seeing the body as it is, I, I think it's reasonable to offer him between 5:00 to 7:00 because then time for me to say time for me to source the motor, the motor, see what other suspension components I need to replace all the bushes, get a hold close or respray.

It was, it will pull me up to kind of a I'll probably have to still put in another 20 or so thousand in there.

But you know, even if I end up paying you say, twenty, $25,000 on the car, it's still a lot cheaper than forking out 4050 grand on one. Yeah, because that's what

they're bringing now, isn't it? That's like a decent one.

They've looked, they've dropped in price, I've seen, I've seen them as low as 30. But in my eyes, it's it's way

too expensive for a Sylvia. I mean like I I grew up with all

my cousins buying him for five 600 bucks. 2. $2000.00 for a

turbo S14 you know 9 grand for a spec car from Japan.

You know I I I can't fathom spending like that much money on a car like that. I mean I mean Scotty, like I

said this many times Scotty can relate with 34.

You know, obviously him paying 40 odd thousand now they're worth like half a million. Like it's it's that doesn't feel

right. Yeah.

So hopefully look, I'll I'll, I'll keep trying my luck.

Hopefully answers one day that has to answer eventually.

Have you left a note on the car? I haven't.

I haven't tried that too. Just leave me.

Try that as well, yeah. Is it could look like a parking

ticket and you might put in a little plastic bag and tape it onto the windscreen and then it might think he's got a parking ticket so he's got to open it because if he's not registered, theoretically you could get a parking ticket.

I mean, so just park in his driveway and yeah, it's like, I'm just been there for a couple of months now and I'm, I'm still surprised. I mean, it hasn't been touched.

Nothing. It's just just out there

collecting dust. I look back, look at it every

time I drive past and I'm like, fuck, you should be with me.

But yeah, besides that, that's that's all my car updates.

Look, I was been a good boy, but you know, like I think Santa like still is upset with me from a few years ago.

So he just left me a $200 total tools gift card, which thanks Santa. So you know, put a few few me

walking stuff from that so well. That's good.

David Prince, how are you, my friend?

I'm doing good, thank you. Yes, yes.

Still on the holidays. I've had a little bit of surgery

just before Christmas, so that sidelined me for a couple of weeks, but I'm coming. Good.

So yeah, I haven't had been out as much as I would have liked to, but slowly getting out again, getting into the cars, talking about cars sitting on the street and, you know, still being there. I did go out to the.

I hadn't driven the Accord for 10 days or so and went out a couple of about a week ago and went to unlock it.

Thought I'd better take it around the block, keep it running and the key wouldn't go into the lock on.

On closer inspection I realised somebody had jammed something into the lock, pulled the door handle off the bodywork of the car, sort of three or four millimetres.

Couldn't get the thing open though, so but it had the end of a pair of scissors broken in the lock.

So of course the lock's wrecked. Luckily they didn't do any more

damage or get into it, but that was pretty annoying.

I maybe, maybe, maybe you should go get the S15 parked over this side of town, maybe to get it lifted over here.

I was staggered. We're we're in a court and it's

quiet as anything the court we live in, you know, like we'd never have anything like that happen.

So I don't know why, whether it was opportunistic or someone's just seen it sitting there or being an older car, they thought it would be easy to pinch or something.

But anyway, left a bit of a sour taste in in in the mouth, but I think I'll be able to get out of.

Interestingly, that car had been broken into before them.

They must be relatively easy before to break into.

It had been broken into before I ever got it so that the the key in the driver's door or the lock in the driver's door had a different key to it anyway, so I'll have to do a bit of fancy key work. I think I'll swap the passenger

door lock with the driver's door lock and then I can lose one key, go down to two keys instead of three keys for the car.

That might work in my favour. But yeah, I mean, we've all got

enough to do with with our cars, the stuff we want to do, as you know, Chad, let alone having to chase people up or, you know, do stuff that other people have done to your car.

That's a pain in the Yeah to get out to a good show on Saturday, on Sunday morning, the Illumo factory down in Keysborough that there's a guy on Instagram, Patrick, who's got a page, I think he's 2JP ZI think his page is and he's got a chaser, Toyota chaser. Yeah, he's on YouTube and

Instagram and stuff. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

And he's got a lot of followers and he, this was his first cars and coffee mate, so pretty blown away by the turn out.

There were probably 350 cars there.

Just everything you can imagine. A lot of Yaris GRS, a lot of FL

fives, but a lot of Porsches. He's got an encyclopaedic

knowledge of Porsches and and Scotty.

I thought of you, the skylines, mate.

There were just so many lovely skylines.

There, does he have the JZX 100 chaser?

Yeah. Pretty much stock, yeah.

Yeah, yeah. I've seen a couple of his tik

toks. Yeah, yeah.

He's on TikTok now as. Well, no, I I, I actually met

him at highball, the last highball.

He was there too, but, and I had a quick chat to him on Sunday.

Yeah, really nice guy, knows his stuff.

He's very cluey and yeah, obviously got a much bigger following than he imagined because there were a lot of people there and a lot of cars. So I caught up with a few

people, people I knew know my mate Malcolm had his NSX there, but he let his 20 year old son drive it.

So there was an NSX with P plates on it that was that was a really good look. But yeah, as I said, some some

really nice, really nice modified the I reckon the GI Yaris must be one of the most well catered for car in the modifications department. Now it, it, there's so many bits

and pieces you can get for it and there was a whole collection of them. I've got a great photo I'll post

up later of me following, following a line of them out of the out of the I look like the annoying, you know, little brother or little cousin there trying to hang out with.

But that's the guy. Yes, yes, yeah.

I took the N1. I was the only N1 there, not

surprisingly. But yeah, no, that was a good

day. It was really hot on Sunday, but

it was from 8:00 till 8 till 10. And hereby I got there about

8:15 and there were already a couple hundred cars there.

So it was pretty big, really quite an industrial area of Keysborough. So it was really, you know, nice

wide streets and there was plenty of room for everybody.

So yeah, it was a good event. Awesome, and what did Santa

bring you for Christmas? David grunts.

Well, I got a new iPad, which was good.

My, my, I've got a very had a very old iPad that's actually started to fail to turn on. So yeah, I've got too many

events and the things I want to plan that I needed a new one, I thought. So Santa surprised me with one

that was good. Good job Santa, you've been good

to us this year. And chocolate, I seem to get a

lot of chocolate. I don't actually eat chocolate.

So I think it's just the default go to for some people, you know, for men of a certain age, I suppose.

We've got a friend who she's absolute sweetie and she's quite an elderly lady and but she gives me chocolate covered coffee beans every year for Christmas.

Oh yeah, I've got some of those as well.

I don't like chocolate covered, so I must have been really appreciative one year and I continued to get them for many, many years to come. So if any of you ever feel that,

you know, run out of chocolate covered chocolate covered coffee beans, hit me up. It, it's funny when when you

when you get gifts like that and and you're, you're so well, thank you. Oh, you know, you're so kind and

and deep thing. You're like, oh, I, I don't like

this. But then you keep getting them

every single year. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

It's, it's it's like when it's like when you when you go to somewhere and and they've made you dinner and you're like, oh, I better eat it even though I don't like it.

How do you think it is? Oh, it's really good.

And you're like, oh, and then the next time we go there, oh, I made it for you again because you liked it so much the last time the. Worst.

Yeah, not not the most fun thing to have.

Updates with me So what have I done so we got the Forester back as you guys, you know, would have known my sister, my sister's going to live overseas for a few years so she's going to the UK. So she's like the Forester, you

know, you can have it back. And so Steph and Pam were were

sharing the the laser, gold laser named Norma, which has been great. No, no issues there.

You know, Steph said, oh, you know, it probably good to have my own car as well, just to, you know, just just in case I'm like, yeah, that's fine. So, so Steph's taken ownership

of the Forester, which has been great.

So we drove that to Adelaide and back and it was pretty good.

On the way back, I was passing all these cars and I thought I was king of the road. And then I got AI got a blowout

on the right rear. And then I watched all the cars

I overtook pass me. There's always changing as I was

changing the tyre. So like I wasn't pissed off

about the blowout. I was pissed off with that.

I did all that hard work to get past and then I had to overtake him again once I once I got, you know, back on the road.

So that was a little bit, that was a little bit annoying, but yeah, the tie blew out and it blew both sides was out of the tie, which I've never seen happen before.

It was. It.

Was nuts, yeah. So, but I'm like, it's OK, I'll

take those wheels off because let's just say my sister likes gutters with them. So I'm going to get the I'm

going to get the edges skimmed. Just just keep them just metal.

I'm not going to pan because the face of the wheels are perfect.

So let's get the edges skimmed and then pop them back on and they will look they'll look good.

So I'll, I'll do that once once I'm back from my holiday that I leave for on Thursday. What else car related have I

done? I think that's been pretty much

it because I've been I've been, you know, running around.

I went to some records when I was in Adelaide.

Got David Prince. Yeah.

That was awesome. Some lovely hubcap centre caps

for I believe they're. Are they a prelude centre cap?

Those ones. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Third Gen Prelude. 3rd Gen prelude, Yeah.

So I've got a set of those and got a few bits and pieces for lasers, etc. So, yeah, it was, it was quite a

quite a nice, productive, productive holiday.

Mr Forrest though it's been, it's been, it's actually a really good car to drive. You know, I soften up the

suspension. So, you know, you can, you can

take the big bumps on the on the way that I'd laid a lot nicer.

But the last two, like the last two days, Stephanie was like, to me, she's like, there's something wrong with the clutch pedal. I'm like, Oh, no, you're

probably just not used to it. She's like, no, it's on the

floor. I'm like, oh, OK, so I go out

and sure enough it was on the floor and you give it a few pumps and it came back to life and I was like, OK, it's probably a slave cylinder. I got to drive it today and I

was on the floor again. I'm like, OK, so that need

that's that needs to get fixed. So had a look.

Turns out the slave cylinders are external and the lines to them are just under underneath the intercooler.

And it's very, it's very common for Subarus to have them, you know, just wear, they wear out after about 250,000 K.

This one's done 300 and almost 15,000 kilometres.

So, so I will, I will do that once I'm back from the land of the rising sun, which would be which would be exciting.

In terms of other car updates, I think that is I've been dropping the Fiesta a whole heap. So that's been great.

Yeah, I might take out the typhoon tomorrow.

So we'll see how we see how we go.

my car updates, gentlemen. Now two things I wanted to talk

about tonight in particular. First thing is, did you guys

hear about the certain area in Melbourne that wants to charge people to work on their cars? Yes, yeah, I did.

Yeah, but what? Area was that.

Again, it was a more affluent area.

From what I from what I read it was the City of KC in Melbourne SE. So Cranbourne Berwick requires

residents to apply for private land use permit if they're planning to store more than 200 registered vehicles for up to 90 days, store long heavy vehicles, and even dismantle, repair or service vehicles. So the permit costs 150 bucks.

And you have to, I think there's a pay a charge to apply for the permit. Correct, you have to apply for

the permit which if if non successful that you that you it's a non refundable you know not refundable you know fee.

And while the permit for storing 3 or more unregistered vehicles or working on your own vehicle is $250, so.

That's own property. What a joke.

So, gentlemen, now I'm pretty sure I know what the answer is going to be here. Is this just a cash grab one and

two, do you think that Melbourne is the California of of America?

Because we are, we are kind of getting that way with a lot of ways with stuff like this, like that's like, you know, working in your car is are we trying to, to kind of, you know, outlaw that now? Is that, is that, is that what's

happening in, in, in the world? Because it's it's kind of

getting a little bit a little bit crazy.

Was this just talk like it's not going through or?

It's proposed it's. Proposed yeah.

So it's it's it's been it's been more than talking Scotty.

It's it's you know, it's a it's a proper thing like they're they're planning on doing this. So, you know, obviously the

backlash was, was, was it's quite severe.

And with fair reason, I think because, you know, the at the end of the day, you know, so some people like, like to work on their cars at home. Some people like to, you know,

wash their cars, you know, the stuff like that.

And this is just another, another way for, you know, for counsel and send people to, to make, to, to, to fill their, to fill their pockets, which, which, you know, I, it, it's frustrating for the, for the average Joe who, you know, who, who, who likes to do that, to do their maintenance and, and, and like us all, like all five of us, we like to tinker in our garages and, and do stuff like that.

And, you know, I, I, you know, for a lot of people, it's, it's quite relaxing, even though many profanities are used in Scotty.

I'm sorry. So, you know, it's, it's one of

those things that I'm just like, what are they trying to do here?

Like, like if you know, are they trying to say who are the people that can we can we can sting them more to get people.

Oh yeah, people who work on their cars.

They're not lawmakers, they're not the police.

They can't tell me what I can do around my property.

I pay enough in rates. They already charge your heaps

depending on the size of your houses and your land, so you don't really technically own land.

Because you pay. So much for it anyway so I don't

know. They're just trying to grab and

suck as much money out of people as easy as possible.

Someone would have, I'd say someone in the council is trying to make a name for themselves, which a lot of these council people do because they don't really have a life.

And they found this one little thing.

They thought, Oh yeah, I could. I could make us more money.

If I make us more money, that'll knock me up the chain and I can start pocketing more money and take more bribes, which most of them do. Yeah, absolutely.

Because there's no way that none of them are lining their own pockets with deals they're making around.

And, you know, you can move into politicians too.

They're pretty dodgy as well. Yeah, I mean, you're not really

a politician. You're just a council worker in

one small area. In one small area.

True, but harsh. Oh no, not even close.

us, not to make our lives worse, to line your pockets with more money. And I know people say that like,

you know, they say that to the police and stuff like that.

It's that you are there specifically to actually work for us. That's the whole point of the

government, to have councils. They brought in the councils so

then the government can concentrate more on laws and running the country and gave you these little aspects to help run the little things, not making our lives worse and having a fight and get all these permits over everything.

All right, some of it makes sense.

Like, OK, I kind of understand you can't park on the nature strip because you've got pipes and stuff and all that running underneath it. OK, fair.

Got that? Is that what they've?

Told you and of course you can't park and block the footpath.

That makes obvious sense. That's what the footpath is

there for. That's fine, fine people for

that, that's fine. That's all good.

But when you start making up all this just little just like where do you even get this idea from? You know, and and there's other

councils that are coming up with ideas in the past about stopping cars driving down main streets and just having bicycles now.

And I think that was around the same area too.

They're trying to do that one of the main streets.

And. Stop stop parking or something

they wanted to do and just have bikes going down there.

I remember that a while back and you just park with these absolute stupid ideas that I think will win them some votes because obviously we've just moved into a election year to try and bump themselves up. But yeah, they're full of

rubbish. I don't think it's going to go

through and if it does, I really hope people never apply for it and service their cards and do whatever they want.

And if you get the fine, screw it up and throw it in their face. I, I don't see how you could get

that fine and you could take that to court.

I can you could get it thrown out.

Car a car took top tier. If they, if they give that to

you, just throw it back at them because it's like it's not going to stand for, it's not going to stand on on any form in court.

I don't see how it could. I don't see how you'd have to

get a permit to service your own car on your own property.

I just, I don't see how it could.

It could happen. I, I just feel like you're

paying so much to, to live there in general.

You're paying the bank, you're paying, you're paying your raise. You know, it's, you know, it's,

it's your, it's your sanctuary, it's your, it's your den.

You know, why can't you, why can't you do that?

But could the member of Roxburgh Park please take the stand and and and give us your your two cents?

disgraceful. And it's, it's sad that we've

got into a stage like that where obscene proposals like these ones are just coming out left, right and centre like it's nothing. And people, and like these

people generally think it's, they're doing the right thing.

So and look, try to pull a stunt like that, you know, in the areas of the northern suburbs such as Roxburgh Park.

rule. People don't enforce the the

normal laws you want to is trying to enforce time like this. I mean, granted this allegedly

happened in Mexico. I was with my mate in his 500

kilowatt GCC turbo doing 250 kilometres allegedly in Mexico.

people doing stuff like that. You get, you know as well, you

know, the conditions of the roads and even just nature strips and the town itself. It's not up to scratch.

bill they're proposing is that, does that include in your garage on the driveway? It says so.

So according to the City of Casey's Community Local Law, those without a permit mustn't dismantle, repair or service their vehicles on private land in circumstances where the activity or use is detrimental to the amenity of the area or the where the private land is located does that.

So to add another layer to the process, the permit applications must be received 14 days before the date of which the permit is needed. So the City of KC hasn't

explicitly detailed how much residents will be fined if they do not submit a publication or carry out activities without 1.

So you know and you know it is a is volatile to recognise the imposition this decision places on homeowners.

So the KC crime page, which stated which started at a Change.org petition. It contradicts the core

principle of private property rights, which under under which we should have the right to use our land as we see fit without governmental intervention as long as we aren't causing harm on this to others. So, yeah, it's, it's interesting

to it's interesting to see, you know, I don't know.

It's, it's interesting to say, to say that the way that they're they're justifying it. But could the member of Glenroy

please take the stand and and explain what what he thinks?

Yeah, I, I just don't think it's a viable thing.

I'm not sure how they would even police it.

Is it going to be based on complaints?

Is someone going to have to dub you in so that they send a council person out in three to five business days?

Like I just don't, I just don't see it being a viable even if they were to pass it all that, I just can't see it, you know, being policed properly and. I I don't think though, I think

having a read of it, police will have nothing to do with it.

Well, there you go. You can't even get the council

to pick up your hard rubbish from outside your house on time, the time they ask you to put it down.

So I feel like they've got other things, you know, to focus on.

But let's just say that, yeah, they they do, you know, bring this into effect. And as you said, Maddie, garage

sheep by nature, if that happens to like, you know, the city of wherever you are, you know, it, it's gonna, it's gonna cause a bloody, you know, a massive riot because like, you know, you're quite literally, you know, taking rights away of, of people for what they want to do on their own properties.

So, you know at that point, OK, so you can't, you can't service your car, OK, you can't mow your lawn with a, a, a, you know, a, it's called a, a lawn mower that's got a that uses a petrol engine. You must use an electric one

because it disturbs the peace. You know, it's the same kind of

method, right? Like the same method to that

madness. Yeah.

Where do you stop? Where do you draw the line where

it's like, not detrimental to the use of a property?

Because there's a lot of things that are?

Oh, yeah. So like and that, that and that

for me is like, is like, where do you, you're right.

Where do you draw the line? Like, like where do you, where

do you draw the line to, you know, to stop?

Because, because if that, if they pass that, you know, it's just, it's just the floodgates will open, you know, and, and, and, and that, that's what worries me.

It's not, it's not the servicing of the car, it's the floodgates of, you know, you know what this could lead to.

They've passed that we'll be able to pass.

No walking your dog down the street in this area or you know what have you, because it's, it's, it sets a precedent.

And for me that's, it's like I'm not very political and we're not very politically on the, on this show.

But in terms of, in terms of what this could lead for, for, for us or for even normal people, in terms of what you can and can't do by a, by a, a council regulating you, not federally, not state laws. You know, your, your, your area,

what that dictates you can do. It's a really, really big issue.

And I, I think people, people are, people are missing that point of, you know, where does it stop?

Like if this is the start, where, where does it stop?

Because, you know, if you, if you, if you're going to try to control that, OK, well, what else are you going to control and control? And that, and that for me, is a

scary proposition because, you know, you can't walk your dog between 4:00 and 5:00 PM on these streets.

And you can't do this and you can't do that.

And only men can walk on this side of the road and women can work on this side of where does the line get drawn?

It's like a domino effect, once one thing falls the rest will follow suit. So it probably be something as

small and true as, yeah, you can't work on your cars property, which still is shit in regards, but they'll take something that's small. And yeah, like I said, Maddie,

once they pass that, they're like, all right, if we can pass this, then we'll pass that. And just slowly, slowly, slowly

to a point where eventually you won't be able to leave your house without a permit. Well, that that's the thing, but

also you got to think of the repercussions too.

People would want to get out of that area, right?

So, so they're going to be like, well, I'm going to move.

House prices are going to come down in that area because people don't, people wouldn't want to move there.

Would you want to move to like, a, you know, an area that that, you know, makes you want to pay to?

Oh, yeah, you have to pay to walk your dog every week.

You got a $50 walking fee, you know, like it's, it's, you know, would you want to do that? God, no.

You'd be silly too. So, you know, you got to think

it's the repercussions for the people living there as well, for the homeowners there. They're like, you know, oh, I'm

trying to sell my house. Oh, you know, it was rated at

800,000, you know, six months ago.

All these new laws are coming. You're looking at 5:00 because

no one wants to live here. We can't sell your property.

You know, it's, it's there's they're not thinking about the repercussions that that are coming along with this with, with a law, you know, you know, like that.

Now, as I said, I'm not very political.

I don't really know, you know, much about, you know, how, how it all works, But you know, how would they police?

That is my next question. Like, like, how like are they

going to have like, you know, the, the thought police cameras in your in your TV's in your house, like are like, are they going to have your neighbours DOBing you in?

Are they going to have these people driving around streets just just checking for people working on their cars?

Like, like, how are you going to place it?

And when you give them a fine, you know, what's, what's the person to say about No, I'm not paying that.

Like do they get the sheriff's involved?

Like, like what is the next step?

Because that is, that is what the the listeners would would kind of need to know here. They have to, I reckon, rely on

people dobbing other people in. Yeah.

They're not going to hire more council people to drive around and check for starters. There's no way council Rangers

would come and try and give you a fine that's going to end with police coming because they've been assaulted.

Yeah, yeah. It's not going to work.

It's the only way it's going to work is people doping in on each other. That's it.

Which I mean, I understand. It's almost like, because I'm

pretty sure there already is council laws and things on hoarders and how that can be detrimental to not just that property, but other people's properties because it brings attracts rats and things like that.

So I get that that takes a bit to get the council involved and the council will pay and get all that stuff removed and, and things all for that. That's fine.

But I feel like as you're saying how it's kind of made such a huge effect, you've got this one thing at the top of hoarding and how gross cities and dangerous to everyone's health, including the people living in that home. To me, just wanting to change my

oil, servicing a car, you know, it's like a it's a pretty big jump. Yeah, absolutely.

It's yeah, like as I'm with you here, like if your house is like, you know, quite literally hoarded and you it's it's affecting the other area. Absolutely.

I completely agree. Yeah, and they do.

I've seen on TV, they go there and they issue things to those people and try and help them out.

And then they get people to come in and they clean it all out.

They'll have drones, drones flying around the top checking out your backyard, see if you've got too many cars.

I mean, I think they already have those at some points in Melbourne, so like. They don't have to get permits.

To be violence and. In certain areas, they can't

just fly them anywhere. We can't.

I mean, they've got a permit to do that either, yeah.
