Honda's Hero
Jeff Glucker and Blake Z. Rong are joined by a legend in the automotive industry, Kurt Antonius. This is the man who single handedly formed a PR division for Honda. He was there for all of the important vehicle launches along the way, was a major part of the creation of Acura, and also helped the marketing and PR efforts for Honda Performance Development and the IndyCar program.To say that he's had an important career is an understatement, and we wish we could share the off-the-record stuff... what you hear on the podcast is pretty damn entertaining though too.

Host Jeff Glucker heads to New York for the 2014 New York International Auto Show. He brings the podcast palace to the big apple party, and he's joined by guests Kamil Kaluski of Hooniverse, Patrick George of Jalopnik.com, and George Kennedy of Bold-Ride.com and the Boston Globe. Of course, the intial chatter is related to some of the new cars being shown in NYC, however it eventually changes and the group talks about some stuff they've driven recently... and The Freedom Top.
We're Talking About Racing with Justin Wilson
IndyCar driver Justin Wilson joins Jeff Glucker and Blake Z. Rong in the podcast palace. The chatter dives right into the world of motorsports, of which Justin is a prominent figure. He's won at nearly every level in which he's competed, and he's now gunning for a strong showing in the 2014 Indy season.Eventually we talk about some non racing bits, including the NSX, which Jeff can't stop talking about. If you're a fan of motorsports, this will be our greatest podcast episode ever. If you're not, it's still pretty damn awesome.
A Winner Is You... and guest Garnett Lee!
Video Game journalist Garnett Lee joins host Jeff Glucker and producer Chris Hayes in the podcast palace. They start by talking about Lee's 2013 Porsche Boxster, and then move on to other fun cars. Eventually, however, the chatter turns to talk of video games... but it gets back on track with cars when Garnett wants to talk about the 2005 Acura NSX that Jeff is driving this week.

This week Jeff leaves Blake and I to our own devices and that of course means things goes awry. We spend a little time talking about the Dinan BMW 1M, Mazda's new vision for the Miata, Blake is driving the Dragon Jeep, the death of the Mitsubishi Evolution and we get nostalgic via a few tangents.

Guest Brendan McAleer joins hosts Jeff Glucker and Blake Z. Rong on the podcast palace couch for this round of "LETS TALK ABOUT CARS, and other stuff, too!"The gang chats about the new Subaru WRX and STI, including the fact that the CVT might actually work well in the WRX. Also, we welcome back some good beer into the palace thanks to Brendan. Finally, the topic of Singer comes up and we daydream about other vehicles that they should apply their meticulous treatment too.

After lots of traveling, Blake and Jeff are finally together again. Huzzah! Blake just drove the Dinan-tuned BMW 1M, a 450HP mouse that is apparently quite good. Jeff went to drive the new Audi A3, learned how to build an engine, and has a very cool update on his Civic.
We're Getting Old... It's Our 50th Episode!
Blake Z. Rong and Jeff Glucker are back together in the podcast palace... well actually, there at the Smoking Tire podcast palace to record the 50th episode of the Hooniverse Podcast.The main topics range from a variety of Geneva Motor Show rides to the interesting things Blake and Jeff have driven recently. This includes an Acura NSX that Blake gets to spend a week with... and Jeff is driven insane with jealousy by this notion.
The Good Ship Rong Reporting For Duty
Blake Z. Rong is the man in charge for this one, because Jeff Glucker is off galavanting in Colorado. Guest co-host Zack Klapman and Mr. Rong are joined by the general manager of the west coast offices of Gotham Dream Cars Nick Bailey. First they talk about the new WRX and STI. Zack, being a former STI owner, had a lot to say. Blake sternly touches on his Kia press car, and Zack talks about the magic of the A8 L diesel's radar cruise control. The guys drool over the Lotus motorcycle, and then Nick epxlains what it was like driving a gigantic truck in Texas. They also discussed various hyper car designs, spurred by the question, "Would Enzo Ferrari like the Enzo Ferrari?"

Our friend Bill Caswell swings by the podcast palace to spend a few minutes talking up his recent adventure taking in the King of the Hammers. After that, Podcast Producer Chris Hayes and host Jeff Glucker dive into some general car chatter. The topics range from Jeff's recent drive of the 2015 Subaru WRX STI to Hayes' recent flings with both the Chevrolet SS and the Jaguar XFR-S.Additionally, we talk about some of the more interesting automotive adventures we have coming up. From driving Aston Martins on ice to spending a weekend with a Morgan 3 Wheeler.

He's a delightful chap who's rather brilliant with a camera, conned his bosses into spending money on a Miata with 320,000 miles, and was the person riding shotgun when Mad Man Higgins put a Subaru WRX STI rally car sideways on the Isle of Man.If anyone has some stuff to chat about, it's Mr. Cantle... or Cant-luh as we prefer to say it.
An interview with Pete Brock
This week Blake and I met up with Pete Brock a the Peterson Automotive Museum in Los Angeles. Through the course of our conversation we touch upon all the obvious high points of his career such as the Daytona Coupé, the original Corvette Stingray and his time with Datsun/Nissan. In addition to that we learn about Pete's new race trailer business, his admiration of Horacio Pagani's work and his love for Baja racing.

Our guest is Jalopnik.com's own Jason Torchinksy. This fine gent is a lover of all things automobile, including the obscure vehicles that are quite at home within The Hooniverse. We dive into a bit of new car discussion since Jason just drove the new BMW M235i, but we eventually get into the topic of Jason's beloved Beetle.It was stolen from him, and then rather quickly recovered thanks to some seriously skilled Internet sleuths. It's a great story, and it has a happy ending.
DETROIT ROCK CITY... we didn't go
The band is back together, as Blake Z. Rong and Jeff Glucker are back in podcast action. This week it's time to chat about all things Detroit Auto Show as there have been a whole lot of interesting vehicles being revealed. This includes the Cadillac ATS Coupe, Toyota FT-1, Lexus RC-F, and the Chevrolet Corvette Z06.Additionally, we learn that Blakes Miata is busted, Jeff's Civic isn't going anywhere at the moment, and that the wagon needs serious steering help. Blake also talks about hanging out with Pete Brock at CES in Las Vegas.

The chatter quickly gets into some new car news with discussions on the new Chevrolet Corvette and its optional Video Data Recorder, the leaked Chrysler 200, and the Camaro Z/28. Additionally we dive into a Top Ten Future Classics list created by Hagerty, which we quickly rip apart.From there we learn a bit more about Travis and his oh so wonderful access to the Edmunds long-term fleet of test vehicles, including their latest acquisition which is a CL65 AMG.

So that means Jeff Glucker is running the show and his guest this week is Matt Farah from The Smoking Tire.This is the last podcast of 2013, even though it is coming to you on the first day of the new year. It's been a great year, and we're happy to share our last recording of the year with our friend Matt.Farah goes into detail discussing his latest purchase; a long awaited DeLorean. Rong can't join us on the podcast palace so instead we have producers Zack Klapman and Chris Hayes sitting down to chat all things automotive.Zack had to suffer with a Lamborghini Aventador Roadster this week, and Jeff is in the process of picking up a Lamborghini Gallardo Squadra Corsa as you listen to this. Clearly they are both very important people.Other topics include the new BMW M3/M4, the redesigned Mercedes-Benz C-Class, John Hennessey taking a C7 Corvette up to 200 miles per hour, and many other items.
Smooth Jam Auto Talk
Blake Zoidberg Rong kicks off Episode 39 and then they dive right into the launch of the 2015 Ford Mustang. From there the talk devolves into chatter about the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited DRAGON Edition. Additionally, Jeff Glucker talks about driving the Aston Martin V12 Vantage S on a track, and oddly loving the Chevrolet Impala with the 3.6-liter V6.Also, the crew has to talk about Paul Walker. Blake met him at Willow Springs and Glucker spent 40 minutes with him on top of Pikes Peak. The question is why everyone is so affected, and they try to find out why.

This week Jeff and Blake sit down with "Maximum" Bob Lutz former head of global product development at General Motors (among many other titles and accomplishments). Inflation, sporting sedans, the VL Destino and BMWs current direction are all discussed however Bob's insight into the future of automotive and the nature of the modern enthusiast is particularly noteworthy.
