The idea of a bunch of hot rodders getting together is nothing new. It has been going on for who knows how long - almost any town across America probably has a hang- out for Friday or Saturday night. Maybe even on a spring Sunday afternoon. When we first talked with Bobby Sparkman, Victoria, Texas, we thought we were going to be talking with another cruize-in organizer, or maybe a show and shine car show. Whooops...we were wrong.According to Bobby, 'Our mission is to bring like minded car and truck enthusiast together to get their vehicles out of the garage for a multi-day event across Texas in a family friendly environment.' A look at the upcoming Keels & Wheels Concour's and a review of the 2023 Cadillac Escalade V-series!
Just outside of Houston, sits the Lakewood Yacht Club - a very picturesque location with tall trees and water access. The club it's self is pretty cool, but once a year, they host the Keels & Wheel Concour event that makes extensive use of the setting.The entry is lined in the tall trees, and this is where visitors will find that 'wheels' portion of the event. Each and every vehicle is hand chosen for each year and situated on the grounds to facilitate a family setting that shows off the vehicles.On around the club house, the marina plays host to the 'keels' portion of the event, with classic wooden hulls being one of the main categories to be seen.
