The world of RVs has really exploded the last few years. Not only does it provide a chance to got out with nature, it is the ability to travel with a 'home' and during the pandemic, it provided a way for many people to get 'out'. For many people, that was their introduction to RVs, but for others, there are even more reasons to go RV'n.Many new RVs have 'toy haulers', a place where scooters, three wheelers, or even golf carts can be stored or hauled. '32 Ford Woody at the Lone Star Street Rod Association State Run!
We first saw the 1932 Ford Woody belonging to Orville Adair in our hotel parking lot. In fact, late evening, some looky-lous from the hotel walked over to check it out. The Woody is a hot rod, and not fully factory, but with some really sweet changes.The hand built Maple wood panels were crafted by Orville in his garage. Orville also works on metal and other than the interior and the top, took this hot rod to the next leve...in his garage. It is a great story and we will let Orville share the details.Like many automotive enthusiests, Orville also has a '48 Ford Convertable and a '40 Ford Coupe in his stable of projects. Kick'n off the 2022 LSSRA State Run with Rick Neely, President.
Early in 2022, we started working with the Lone Star Street Rod Association about their 2022 State Run to be held in Granbury, Texas. The idea was that we would bring our live broadcast to the event for a Saturday morning broadcast to the event. Working with Gary Henry, Editor of the group newsletter, we finally worked out the details. Something we are really REALLY glad we were able to do as it is an outstanding event that we hope to attend again.Joining us on our live program is the President of the LSSRA, Mr. Rick Neely, out of Midland, Texas, who provides a look at the organization as well as an overlook of the event. We also get to look at his short bed Ford pickup with tilt front end, black 'ol school wheels and updated interior. Seems Rick also has a '39 Cadillac, /57 Buick complete with nailhead motor, and a '37 Olds Coupe that we hope to checkout sometime in the future.It is a great event, with great people, in a great location.
