Chase Hill out of Reno Nevada is known for helping you get a good ride out of your slammed VW. Chase started out making custom wheel tubs for buses. Being a Union ironworker by trade he welds for a living. With loving slammed early bugs he used his talent to extend the trailing arms for re-centering the wheel in the arch. It also fixes the steering issues with 6" narrowed beams on super slammed beetles. He's been in the game from way back in the late 90's. And like a fine wine he will not extend your trailing arms before their time. Troy had been in the bus game for quite some years. His first feature car was on 97 in VW Trends Red & Black Camper called "Summer Fun". After that bus found its way to Japan. He hit the streets in his "Road Dog" buses. You may remember the "Nurburgring safety double cab". He's always had a unique style. Ep 94 The first chopped bug EVER? Creighton Muller
Creighton Muller from Tacoma Washington built his 1956 chop top custom Beetle in 1955. It was a brand new car. His parents never knew he chopped it until they saw it parked next to another Beetle. He did traditional hot rod influenced modifications to it. Ep 90 Chop Rod Builder Scott Guildner
Starting in the late 70s through the 1990s Scott Guildner had been painting & building some of the most memorable cars of the 80s. He built Chop Rod in 1986, (Sold to Jim Moto) then on to build Aaron Kahans 1967 Scalloped bug as well as Bob Daniels Bug. His hot rod influenced style definitely emerges. wether is scallops or Flames Chops or louvers Scott was the guy in the San Fernando Valley making it happen. Dan was just a small town boy that move to LA. Working at Small car specialties on a whim wrote an article for VW Trends. He then ended up in the high-paced world of print media. He rode that wave up and down. It was a crazy time of Bikini models and cars shows in the height of the VW scene. VW Trends was also an outlier.
