TMCP #350: Silver Sport Transmissions Talks Modern Overdrive Automatic Swaps for ’69 Chargers (and All Muscle Cars) – Ask Rick, Collectible R Model Shelby Mustangs and Whether to Restore a Basket Case
In this TMCP episode I spoke to Jeff Kauffman and Bryan White (and former TMCP interviewee) from Silver Sport Transmissions Maryville, Tennessee. Since I picked up the General Lee I have been debating options for overdrive transmissions to make life on the highway a little easier. Also overdrive transmissions have been around since before the 80's so it is possible the Duke Boys could have swapped one in (if they had been allowed on highways outside of the county). I asked Jeff and Bryan to come on the show and answer some of my questions about transmission options. Want to hear something else cool? The old Cars for a Living podcast show that I used to host is one of the reasons Bryan left his ho-hum career with a major corporation to join the aftermarket...and Silver Sport was where he landed! Also - as I mentioned in this interview - be sure to check out the new Baseball tee that I launched with my friends on Kickstarter. I think you'll dig it - and please share it with your friends. The website is www.magictee.io and right now it's available on Kickstarter for a HUGE discount. All purchases made through Kickstarter will help us get the product funded, manufactured, and out to market. TMCP #349: Jimi Day Explains the Brand New Optima DriveAutoX Series; Larry Callahan and the Pro Touring Update
This weeks interview is with Jimi Day, President and CEO of FM3 Marketing, Race Director for the Ultimate Street Car Association, and my co-host of the OPTIMA Search for the Ultimate Street Car Series podcast. In this episode however I asked him on to get to the bottom of the all new "Optima DriveAutoX Series that FM3 has created. Frankly, if it's what I hope it is....it's going to be awesome. Also - if you're willing and able, please check out the product I developed with my buddies. It's for kids - and it's a baseball tee! But it's unlike anything else out there The post TMCP #349: Jimi Day Explains the Brand New Optima DriveAutoX Series; Larry Callahan and the Pro Touring Update first appeared on The Muscle Car Place.
TMCP #348: Jeff Allison Returns! Full Details on Jeremy McLellan’s ’66 Chevelle Build – And it’s Debut in the Ron Francis Wiring Booth at SEMA 2018!
Want to hear something crazy? In this show, you will. I'm launching a product with a team of buddies, and it's been years in the making. AND....it's not an automotive product either. It's a baseball tee! It's called the Magic Tee, and it's unlike anything we've ever seen on the market. Listen to the show for the story. We go to Kickstarter on Feb, 27, 2018. Here's the website too! www.magictee.io And now back to the cars! This weeks interview is with a name show followers will recognize, Jeff Allison of Allison Customs. Jeff is the one responsible for making my dream of rebuilding my families Chevelle into a Pro-Touring competing, SEMA show attending, and magazine article page turner wonder car. He is doing it once again this time for Jeremy McLellean's 1966 Chevelle and it too is going to SEMA. If you want to build cars for a living - on the side - you can. Listen in. TMCP #347: Doug Warble and the GTO Association of America’s Big Summer Show in PA; Ask Rick, NPD’s Final Ford Car Show, Listener Questions, And BULLITT – The Ultimate Collectible Mustang
This weeks interview is Doug Warble with the Susquehanna Valley GTO club. They'll be hosting the GTOAA National Meet June 26-30, 2018 Valley Forge, PA. Doug grew up around cars and when his dad purchased a GTO "parts car" his life changed to revolve around Pontiacs. He is a fountain of information and I dared to ask him about his favorite obsession. The GTOAA was founded in 1979 by Tony Bastion for the restoration, preservation and enjoyment of GTOs. The first meet was in Indianapolis Indiana and has grown nationwide. The GTOAA now boasts 4000 members across the US. The organization recently started spot lighting the regional chapters and boosting them on the national web site and Facebook. This action has significantly increased it's membership and should make for a great turnout at the national meet. Three dudes and Two Feminist Moms
On this special episode of the Salt City Throwdown podcast we are joined by Erica and Brooke from the "Two Feminist Moms" podcast. We talk about everything under the sun trying to determine what feminisim means, to is feminisim still necessary? Well, you're about to find out because the answers may suprise you. As we keep going we just are drinking and having a conversation among friends, discussing a multitide of topics including a long discussion of the confederate flag, and it's role in light of the recent shooting in South Carolina and things we would do it . So sit back, relax and plug the awesomeness that is the Salt City Throwdown into your earholes and enjoy it.
Midget Porn and Pride Parade Floats
Sorry for the extended hiatus, but school and adulting called, and well, such is life when you have an expensive hobby like talking into a microphone for people to hear. But it was an exciting event. Because after recording this episode we had so much fun, we decided to add a third co-host to the testosterone frenzy that is the Salt City Throwdown! So now, instead of just hearing from Smitty and The Fish Guy rail on Pop Culture events, we have the perspective of someone new to join us! So, before we go too much farther, we are happy introduce our new co-host and associate producer to the Salt City Throwdown, Tabs Grantham. Which will hopefully entertain you as we swear and complain about life, culture, and politics in Utah. Tabs comes into the studio for episode 45 to talk about his life as a trans-male in Utah. It is with this unique perspective that we talk about what his life has been like up to this point, how he ended up in Utah, and what the implications of the recently, and often debated "Utah Compromise" statewide anti-discrimination bill passed during the 2015 general session of the Utah legislature. Then it goes off the roads, and somehow we have decided on our Utah Pride parade float entry, which is sure to be a winner. And Adam brought an IPA. Again. And then we discuss everything from Astrological Signs, to names for Strippers. So sit back, relax and plug the awesomeness that is the Salt City Throwdown into your earholes and enjoy it.
This is why Pleasant Grove can't have nice things.

And then Brian Greene opened his mouth to let us know his views on rape. So we break it down. Then at the end of the show it gets serious. We talk about Podcast Phil. (http://www.podcastphil.com) Ask for some help. So sit back, relax and enjoy the Salt City Throwdown Podcast.
A conversation about Mia Love and John Swallow!
This week, on a woefully late, and almost un-timley release, we sit down with Salt Lake Tribune political correspondent, Robert Gehrke. We talk about the year (2014) in Utah Politics, the Election of Mia Love, what to look for in the coming legislative session, and the continued fall out of the John Swallow saga. We also talk with Robert about his recent book with Tommy Burr and Matt Canham about the campaign of Congresswoman Love, and how it came about and some behind the scenes. So sit back, relax, and fill your earholes with the glorious sounds of the Salt City Throwdown Podcast.
