Well we're here we're back we're here it's been a while it's been a while we're
back welcome to the people's car podcast I forgot to do it welcome to the
people's car podcast my name is Ryan Bielin sitting right next to me is Danny
Mercado what's up what's up man it has been a while we actually haven't
recorded since roots and thank God we recorded four times so we give some
people some stuff some content dude yeah we haven't actually been in your basement
in a long time it has been it has been a while it's it's like that meme of the
Titanic and she's like it's been 84 years that's how I feel yes it's been a
long time nice to see you good to see you also we've seen each other a couple
times within the last few weeks we'll go over some of that yeah but um yeah no
it's nice to do it I'm glad there's still people out there listening to us
yes I'm glad there's people are still are asking like when's the next podcast
coming out and because it's been a while I just you know we'd probably be
remiss to not say anything about Poli so we'll not that he deserves to get that
out of the way quick you know what I mean yeah we'll actually just say
something because everyone has said stuff for weeks and weeks and we all
know where we all stand but Poli was definitely a fan of this show he made
that known in many ways I think Poli was awesome in the way that when we did our
interview with him down in Coopersburg when we were down there he said how much
are your shirts and then I do remember him picking up a shirt and then he's
like what's your Venmo and I think I think I was like don't worry about
something goes dude what's your Venmo gave him the Venmo and then I saw later
on that he sent us a hundred dollars and I said to him it was like later on the
day I saw him again he was videotaping like he always did and I said dude you
didn't have to do that and he said well I appreciate what you guys do yeah so I'm
I'm trying to show that and I thought that was awesome of course we've always
appreciated what he did as far as his channel went yeah and I think there's
you know a small group of people that really put in a lot in the scene that a
lot of people it's like a thankless thing right so he was there late nights
editing for hours and hours for what just so people could see what we do and to
capture these things and to you know keep them for our own memory books you
know what I mean yeah so I would just like to say thanks Mike Poli for what
you've done and you know you were you were a good dude and you were a cool
guy and you will be missed yeah I remember when we were down in Helen and
he was helping us with some filming down there and he also did interviews while
we were actually parking cars and getting the get-together set up and
we would walk around to each one of us we were talking and doing interviews with
it and it was just a cool thing because like again he didn't have to do that no
it was something that like it's a thankless thing because like he put out
content for people to enjoy and we really appreciated that you know and
appreciated that that's there now for people to still enjoy and to enjoy you
know for years to come because he left he definitely left his mark on the
community and it's it sucks because I was thinking about this and I've talked
to a few people about this before and I wasn't able to get down to mark one
madness and I had a bunch of parts down there from the guys from Ohio that
brought them over and I just broke down with my pickup truck and wasn't able to
get down there to get the parts so I knew Poli would be coming back through the
area because he goes back through the Scranton area right up towards Syracuse
so I was like hey man is there any way you can like do me a side on this and
it's funny because he's like dude I just woke up let me like throw some water on
my face and I'll like I'll call you back and these I was like all right cause and
you know like he was definitely having a fun night the night before sure so like
he he called me back within you know probably 15 20 minutes and he's like
dude no problem I'll take care of it I got it I'll meet you when we uh when
get closer I'll let you know where I'm at and we met up in Scranton and like it
was a pouring rain when I met him and like it was coming down a bucket so we
went over to like where the sheets gas station was and I went underneath the
one of the underhangs there so we can at least get out of the rain a little bit
right and um as I was like dude you know if you need anything else or in time
anything I got you you know it's like and it sucks for not be able to return
our favor sure him a solid because he did me a solid yeah but I was the kind of
guy he was yeah you know he would he would do those kind of things for people
and and do that solid so I appreciate that and I appreciate what he's done for
the community yeah for sure all right so what else we got man we we haven't a
lot haven't been together in a while I haven't started I know we have a couple
lists of things I have abandonment issues I feel like you know like we haven't
been together in a while so it's like true um so I want to talk about the the
silver slayer for a minute because okay a couple weeks ago um like five three
weeks ago it was right before Thanksgiving it was the day right before
Halloween it was Halloween it was Halloween it was Halloween morning
that's yeah so so um it's interesting and it probably has something to do with
the times I go to work because I had to be in the work at four in the morning
that morning and it just seemed like that's the time that like the deer like
to be out and they're running and and you know just doing what they do and you
were doing what you do dude I was cool it was overtime shift I wasn't supposed
to be near that early people didn't even think this was real I know they thought
it was like just a continuation from like something else or anyone that's
listening that didn't see what happened knows what's coming dude so I'm this is
uh it's like a country road in New York State so the speed limit is 55 so I'm
cruising power Danny dude I was cruising about 60 because that's about a mile
getting it before you get into town okay so I know like cops usually sit within
that area to go on it before you get into town and also I see a herd run
across the road I'm like I said this for me it was like oh fuck and I didn't have
a chance to even like stop or seminar breaks or anything dude I just fucking
close my eyes and just fucking hit whatever I hit and luckily it was only
one deer I see the legs go up in the air I see go huh and then it's just fucking
like off into the like you know into the into the sky and that's the noise that
Danny hears at least for three or four times here huh so I started laughing and
else can you dude because if I didn't start laughing I would have probably
got out and wanted to dislike slaughter all yeah so I just started laughing and
I kept the movement I didn't even stop you didn't even probably slow it down
dude I just drove I was driving to work like I never even hit the deer and I
get up to work and I pull in the parking lot second nature at this point and I
was like alright let's see how bad the image is and I get out and I was like
okay you know I see you know as a fender hood bumper cover headlight grill but
the radiator is fine no structural parts of the body are like Ben it's just
basically all your cosmetic pretty pieces the rat support was fucked so
whatever I'm like alright I'm gonna pull the fender out I heard it rubbing a
little when I was making turns and I just went into work but right before I
walked in I go over to the side of the car and I see that it like completely
defecated all right it was like oh shit oh shit yeah yeah so that was like an
insult to injury I think I was more mad about the the crap on the side of the
car than anything so once again it's always like what do I need now do I need
support do I need a headlight do I need a fender do I need a grill do I need a
hood so do I need a bumper fun fact the hood I had on the car was a little rusty
and I already have a silver hood in my garage because I sourced one that was
cleaner and I was like I'm not putting this hood on yet I'm just gonna wait
because I'm gonna run a rusty one cuz I'm gonna fucking hit it here and that
wasn't my thought process on it but obviously how isn't it I was thinking
like you know for maybe the winter saw I don't want to fuck up the better hood I
don't know yeah I get it it was for the year definitely so I have a hood already
well get another one right dude I already had oh my god so I had the hood and I
had on the inner grill is like an inner grill bracket that goes underneath the
bumper so I had that already had a headlight so I needed to get a rat's
port fender the bumper cover I'm just gonna repair because it's like the
inner bracket that's on the inside that that broke but like the bumper cover
itself looks like it's okay yeah so I actually went to Harry's the other week
because I saw like a silver wagon or no I was a sedan silver sedan was dropped
like couple days before okay so I was able to source a silver fender the rat
support in a couple like little bumper pieces and stuff then you like the
little grills in the bottom gotcha um what have you been driving to work my
truck okay so you don't want to do that because now the salt's gonna start
coming out and dude just tonight they sprayed all I know I saw it everywhere
like there's a 40% chance of snow I don't know what happened because we just a
few days ago we got a bunch of snow and no one did shit about it no we had
accidents on the highway and people like got really hurt and killed yes and it's
dude you didn't so for any of that that was like pretty actually like a pretty
serious little snow squad came through it was and then this is like a chance yeah
and they're not fuck all you're getting all the salt now yeah I think it's Chad
from PA's fault yeah probably yeah I think it's his fault because he saw he's
out there just like laughing as he salts yeah he's put all his shit away now he's
just salt in the shit out of everything for everybody else so so just so you
guys realize what we're saying Danny hit another deer yes and people were asking
count like body count we don't we can't I think it's like 15 oh round middle mid
teens is definitely mid oh we're in the teens I'm surprised we're not pushing
fucking duo not yet dude not yet um again another call for a true a true
deer Slayer when you put on a brush bar on something I have that you just fucking
mow down yes at that point because now you've gotten to the point where you are
so used to hitting deer constantly that you don't slow down you laugh you keep
listening to music you probably don't even skip a beat like you just keep going
I was just like as long as you don't hear weird noises or grinding or anything else
like you're good to go yeah so it's like nothing now you've gotten you got the
mentality of a true deer Slayer down to slide all you have to do to like actually
get like you're slayered them in one like beautiful piece is just the bumper
for it you know it's funny just reinforced steel like go right through
those motherfuckers just keep going so a light doesn't even go out when I was
talking to Ronald Matt about this because he stepped over and picked up my
pickup truck seats that I had he what over he came over he stopped over he
stopped over yeah it sounds like you said he slept over no he stopped okay
just clearing shit up be in the area he stopped over picked up the pickup truck
seats that I had and I was talking about the brush bar brush guard with him
briefly he sent me a picture of what he like fabbed up for his buddy and stuff so
I do need to get on that a hundred percent um so it was kind of a blessing
in disguise me hitting the deer with the Silver Passat wagon not the Mark Ford
Jetta 3 2 swapped wagon correct and the reason why that I was driving the other
wagon was because the oil pan was fucking busted so mark for VR you know
problems being lowered just VR problems so yeah I was with you on that and dude
a good one that was a good one and then we were about to pull on a highway and we
got we looked you know we did that hit and we looked at each other like I think
we're okay we kind of did the side eye we both each other and we were about to
pull on a highway so he makes it the turn signal he throws his turn signal on
to the left and we're about to turn on no highway and all of a sudden and he
immediately shuts it off dude it was like it was like it was like yeah so fast
of reaction like we just yeah we knew and we know and we just don't that we
know we both yeah and we just look at each other we both without saying a word
just get out of the car and go right to the front and we both cut our knees and
look down and there it is just spewing oil black gold but hey Texas yeah yeah
yeah but that's all taken care of so yeah because you would have destroyed that
thing with that yeah I would have been driving that wagon that morning yeah so
busting the oil plan actually saved me from driving that wagon that morning yeah
so yeah now I'm driving I've been driving the truck but I don't want to drive
that and only dodging it's gonna run into the earth if I get it yeah a speck of
salt that thing is gone yeah my rule with my truck is don't it doesn't drive
when the saw hits the road right so today I was like motherfucker I was like
really like not happy about the salt spray but it was dry already so it should
be okay ish yeah oh yeah we'll see yeah I think we're okay on that front and like
it's not like that residue that's everywhere all the time now it's like
the quick that brinish yeah off that they threw down it was already dried pretty
for a while before I drove a home on it so but I've been going through like the
b5 woes so to speak I was working on my dad's b5 he's on a 04 sedan and it was
in an accident he he wasn't driving he let his wife's daughter that's like on
mid 30s whatever drive the car she went up hitting like I don't know a curb a
fire hydrant and maybe a car dude I don't even know I don't know how it
exactly happened man but the uprights if anyone knows how to be five suspension
is it's the Audi driveline so it's it is the Audi style upright that it has in
front of the a6 a4 whatever and it's cast iron on those years for the
passats it was sheared in half geez I thought it was like the broken tie rod
or something no like though they actually upright was sheared in half and
dude it sucks because I know I had a spare one and I had for a couple years
and I remember having it for my black sedan I had because I remember that one
that needed a wheel bearing and I was gonna just swap the upright out when I
did like the front suspension on it because I didn't have a press at the
time of dual wheel bearing yeah so like I think I might have tossed it earlier
this year almost like this the mentality of I'm never gonna use this
mm-hmm throw scrap metal and then like I needed it and I was so mad that I
couldn't find it because it's like oh we talk about how much parts you hoard and
stuff you're tripping over and you just want to get rid of stuff and clutter and
then when you do you actually need some yeah and you're like you motherfucker that
is a pain so now to go to the junkyard pull one of those out which isn't the
easiest thing in the world to do because everything's always seized up and
right and just rusted yeah so but I got one of those and put that back together
and now is in my garage for like a week because just limited time of working on
stuff but that's all done and gone and that car actually runs really good only
has like 106,000 miles on it nice so yeah that's what I've been having going
off for past few weeks okay um well let me add something to that okay sure um as
many people know a few months back maybe four or five months ago I bought a big
horsepower mark 4r32 turbo car and since then I absolutely have sold it and
that lasted about four months and let me tell let me tell you people why I was
talking to Brandon Schultz about this yeah if anyone doesn't know if anyone's
not like into mark fours and stuff Brandon Schultz is like kind of like one
of the r32 guys you're too whisper he was like saving r32 before it became
like a thing to save yeah so he's been all over the country picking up r32s
fixing up r32s selling r32s there was one point in his driveway where he had
two blue two red two silver and two black r32s yes of course he has his
supercharged r32 which is like up just an absolute peach that thing is amazing
yeah really nice car but so he messes me right away said wait a minute he's like
I know you got this because I was talked to him when I first got it yeah and he
said is this it for sale online already and it was I had sold this to a dealer
that had bought my last r32 and he threw it right up right away and it was it is
what it is this is why this is my reasoning why so I already had the first
silver r32 which was already my second r32 true and I got that I actually bought
that from Brandon probably in like 2019 I think yeah so I had that for a bunch of
years and then I sold it this year and I sold it knowing that I always wanted a
turbocharged r32 I wanted a supercharged r32 also but like to have a real kind of
like fast car yeah I've never really scratched the itch of us like a fast to
me fast car I know people like I know Cass is listening this and he's like yeah
I have a 1200 horsepower RS3 like I understand that this is only half of
the horsepower of his car yeah but it's something that I wanted to do so got this
car shipped in from California and dude it just didn't do it for me the car was
awesome the car was well built the car was fast the car was smooth the power
delivery was not really my cup of tea okay power delivery being that it was
like a single bigger turbo was wait wait wait fourth grand 4500 and then it just
like it just fucking beats you up and then you know like you're it was like
basically how I describe it to like you or whoever it was like a party trick
every time I got in the car it was very much not about like the driving the whole
experience it was about yo watch what this can do yeah over and over so it's
like it was like a one or zero switch it was like oh you're either not doing
anything or you're giving it the beans and you're like holy shit so that's kind
of where I was and every time I got out of the car I I kind of look back I'm
like I don't know if this is for me you know and it's funny I was talking to
Brandon and Brandon said everyone wants a turbocharged R32 until until they
own a turbocharged R32 that's funny which I and listen to some you can understand
to some people they some people will have a you know that they've turboed
their cars they've had it for many many years they love it like I get that do I
think a supercharger fits that power band and that kind of like driving
characteristic of the natural car much better yes probably called Brandon's car
set up yeah I bet Brandon's car is an absolute blast and I think that car is
probably like almost perfect as far as an R32 goes so that that is basically the
deal it's just it wasn't for me I think it was that simple I had to I had to
scratch the itch I did and now like I I had no qualms selling it you know what's
funny about that is you have this car that's got 500 plus horsepower and then
it's like okay it's cool but then it's like you get into like your hundred
horsepower mark that's exactly one or more too and it's like such a different
driving experience but it leaves a smile on your face and it's like it's not
necessarily about how much power you have it's about the experience that you're
gonna have with the car hundred percent so being that you said that I did also
want to talk about rabbits on the rocks yeah and the fact that we went there but
before we went there you and I and you know your wife and Heather and Arrow like
we stayed at a place right outside of town yeah and it was an Airbnb it was like
this old school house it was actually really cool it's really nice yeah it was
right on a river and right on the other side of a river was what's that poor
Charles I think it was port port yeah Clinton poor Clinton and right on the
other side of that the river was a train station yeah and it was just it was
cool like you know the leaves are coming down we had a cool little fire
outside we're hanging out there playing music the one night whatever but I was
thinking when we were driving two rabbits on the rocks there's some great
back roads in that area and Kale knows what that's like his like whole general
area yeah and he knows all that stuff really well and he said that there's
great roads out there and that's like where he goes to clear his head he gets
and just fucking goes and I get it and we have roads like that too here but we
different though they are different but like it's beautiful down there it was
the perfect time of year and beautiful weather we had like amazing weather so
we're driving sorry you want to say something so the road coming in we took
81 South and then got off like I don't want to say I think what exactly what
that area is Tamakwa want to say and it went through all these back side like
winding roads and we also hit like the Christmas tree farm Mecca that I'm like
it's like of the electric area I've never seen so many Christmas tree farms
like you're talking probably tens of thousands of rows of Christmas trees Wow
and it was just unbelievable like and I was like all the way down into pretty
much when you got into town that must be almost like where like they harvest them
yes for like a lot of the side like you know the side hustle places yeah from
there so absolutely or even like Home Depot or Lowe's or whatever it was just
so many and it was all independent like you know family farms to have them
those are incredible yeah so when we were on some of those back roads going to
rabbits on the rocks I was thinking because we were you know some spirited
driving on those like corn like those small like roads or whatever on the
background and I was driving the mark one dude and I was thinking exactly what
you just said about the R32 yeah and I was like this is so much more fun yeah
like I had a smile on my face from ear to ear and it was that is so much better
to me and I know every and it's not everybody's cup of tea but that car to me
or an 8 valve anything that's like when you're really running a little car like
that harder yeah and it's just kind of that that is just so much more fun man
it just I feel like that's what life is about
knew you're right those little things uh yeah because we had um the rabbit convertible with
the 2-5 swap and it was just so much fun to drive that car down it was fun to drive the car
on those back roads yeah it's cool we never drove our those two mark ones together yeah
it was cool to see those together um that car doesn't get out as much as others and it's like
I don't know why yeah it's almost like it's a forgotten car and I keep like yeah you keep
like remembering when you get in you're like oh shit yeah this is awesome I know because like
it's it's such a good driving car and it's just a fun car to drive at the end and enjoy yeah um
but that makes sense because if you have like a 500 horsepower car going around windy roads and
turns especially being a big turbo car you're never going to be in the power anyway you're not
in the power band that you're going to be utilizing that power I know it's like when I came to a
straightaway I'm like yo check this out right that's all that's all the car was and if you think
about I wonder I wonder if a car that has an hpa twin turbo setup would be a better setup because of
not being as much of a lag as a turbo car I can imagine that yeah maybe a better driving
car and that's why I say a supercharged anything like you know even a mark two with a supercharged
vr and it like is so much fun it's a lot faster in a stock mark two but that's that's kind of where
it's at you can it's all usable all the time and that's what's crazy as you think about this if you
had a vr with a supercharger kit on it and you're pushing up you know but high twos maybe low threes
if it was a little bit more built like you were like the man you were like the ship you had a
supercharged vr with like a v1 blower on it um like that was like a lot of power and I think a lot
of people now um I'm not saying necessarily in the Volkswagen community but in general um are just
chasing horsepower numbers you're into two thousand twenty five hundred horsepower quote unquote
street cars and it's like yeah that's cool but you're right it does one thing and one thing only
you're gonna go fast in a straight line and hopefully you don't get pulled over hopefully you
don't you don't crash a thing yeah because that's a violent ride oh my god these guys with the
uh the twin turbo ls swapped whatever yeah it's like I mean don't get me wrong it's fucking cool
absolutely it's got it it's cool for the experience that like say we're trying to have and we're
when we're doing we're driving is not necessarily that kind of experience because I think the five
the seven hundred horsepower range say in like an ls car or a built car like that
is more enough for like our kind of roads and our style the roads we have because you do have
some of those nice straightways and stuff but you still want the car to be able to handle because
it's not like for our area we don't live in like Texas or Florida straight forever right or Arizona
where all you have is nothing but straight lines you want a car that's going to be able to go around
turns yeah and that's like kind of like you know like the conundrum I have with my road owner because
the car is great I love what it does but it handles for shit right like my Dodge Ram handles better
than that car um and it's a fun car in a straight line and it's different it's a different field
nostalgia and you know whatever but uh no there's there's different tools for different reasons
right so like we all we're all into different things for different reasons and that and that's
cool and that's why we're here that's why we're sitting down here talking right now um that's why
a 65 horsepower beetle is cool it's so cool dude yeah if you if you can get like 75 80 horsepower
real horsepower out of a beetle yeah you're fucking moving and it's fucking fun and it's quick
side note um I didn't know that Alex Taylor from Alex Taylor Racing was into air cool beetles
she happened to be pulling a beetle out of her um garage and like she had to put the wood there
and everything because a little bit of a lip she pulls her beetle out and then like it stalled
because she ran out of fuel with it and she had to like put gas in it or whatever but like she's
this uh huge drag racer that has done like a lot of like major events built full on drag cars and
everything and here she is with this little air cool beetle yep isn't that cool yeah it's sick so
that all being said we went to rabbits on the rocks yes and shout out to those guys they did a
fantastic job um that was the first year you or I were there yes we were trying to go for the past
two years yeah and the first year I think we both had car trouble issues uh no the first year
you came down with like the flu we were going to go oh yeah and we we I even had like the our uh
shit to to actually stay and it was like in the car and then something was going on me and then
you're like dude I feel like I'm dying yeah because you actually came to my house with your
red mark one and we were like contemplating it oh and then I was having fueling issues that's what
it was so you were dying I was having fueling issues and then we were like fuck it we're just not
going to go and then it wasn't meant to be yeah then the next year I was in Kentucky at the time
whatever yeah you're away and I wasn't able to go but this year we went it was absolutely perfect
weather yeah it was like that that perfect fall the fucking leaves are falling it was like warm in
the sun but it was cool when the sun went away it's weird because like we already had our fall
foliage cold and cold peak season yeah and it seems like the colors were just so much more vibrant
that weekend yeah it was just a great weekend it's almost like they they like like prematurely shot
it like as like being peak season when it wasn't yet yeah I don't know I mean it looked great out
it really was great for great for photos it's a great spot what we realized when we got there
was how friendly it was for everybody involved so family-friendly yeah so it wasn't just for
the people that were into the mark ones twos and threes but we also had you know for like your kid
my kids didn't get down there this time but there's places there's uh playgrounds for kids yeah
there's places to eat that's right there they have their own like little restaurant that's on the
actual campground they have a huge great pavilion where they did all of their giveaways and everything
else raffles so raffles so it was it was a great group they definitely already like people realize
that this is a good one yes it really is it's a genuine good show good location um good time of year
everything about us it made you feel good well it's funny that you say make you feel good because I
was trying to like I was driving back home and I was trying to pinpoint why that was such a good
show and I think I think positivity had a lot to do with that show and why what I mean by that is
like sometimes people they get too wrapped up into into what they're doing or they get too stressed
out or they get too whatever it is and then like you can almost feel that there could be tension
when you go to like anything oh I know what you mean yes we've experienced this before yeah and
but you go to the rabbits on the rocks and like everyone is they were just doing their thing like
everyone's like yeah we're gonna try to fit everybody in here because whoever shows up we're
gonna cram them in we're gonna do the best we can everyone was happy everybody was fucking happy
yes everybody was locking step or what it seemed to everyone that was going yeah um it seemed like
the whole crew was you know like good to go there was no bullshit yeah it was just everyone hanging
out and that's that's exactly it um a bunch of good cars um the rock formation is incredible the
rock formation up at the top of the hill which was funny because in all the pictures I did not
I did not understand I guess like the pictures don't do the rocks justice no not at all and I
didn't realize that it went up a hill yes all the pictures I thought it was like a straight shot
in the background but it actually goes it like cascades down this mountain yes which is really
fucking wild um I don't know if you read that pack up there but it was like started kind of like
four million years ago and it just stopped like 10 000 years ago or something it's crazy it's crazy
how that like nature works like yeah it really is um but anyway kudos guys that was a great show you
guys did a great job I hope you don't completely outgrow the area but I hope you keep growing to
the point where you can put cars in other spots maybe even behind like the general store right there
or whatever and you know just figure it out and um I you know I'd be down for actually like camping
yeah there next year um it's a fun time um definitely uh if you haven't been able to get
you know make it out to it definitely check it out um kudos to everyone involved that helped
yeah make it a success what else um so just want to give a quick shout out about one love
auto group um being on a move because uh they've um had to relocate um they're going to a little
bit larger area and they're still staying in the post town um location but just a new new facility
so just give them a little time to actually get their stuff organized um so if you have orders
that you were say putting in say a week ago and stuff they're they're I think just getting the
ship those out now so I um went up ordering a um uh engine mount bracket from them so like I I hit
them up right right before they started moving you know it came within like two days so it was
good to go but if anything is like delayed just be patient with them they are moving like they're
everything they have and they've got a lot of stuff so their inventory is is massive sure so
because they took on um uh auto houses uh out of Paterson New Jersey's as well so um just uh give
them a little time bear with them and then when they get back up and running yeah um also I wanted
to uh thank uh Kale Westy Wears um for putting together um the dog pizza uh merch he was able
to distribute those out at Rabbits on Rocks and also Jeremy from Car Show Plate for getting the decals
like the stickers that were given out um put together in time for the show as well um it just
shows like what the community can do when they get together and like it the proceeds went um to his
significant other so yeah um it's a great cause that everyone was involved in so shout out to those
guys also Jeremy for sure for um throwing together a new car show plate um with the new
Pennsylvania logo on it so I didn't realize like I went on a website and I didn't see the new logo so
I hit him up and he um just was kind of in the process of getting it out so I hit him up with
the right you know it's kind of the right timing for it and I was able to source uh that plate
one of the first ones for my um Markfort wagon uh because it has a euro uh uh trunk on it so
fantastic job it looks great um so if you need any kind of especially plate like definitely
hit up Jeremy Car Show Plate dot com he is the man for it for sure um also I don't know if people
have seen this or not and maybe it's only like the g-60 nerds they're into like these you know
charges that blow up but thighback performance um out of their uh Europe um they specialize in
g-ladder chargers and they just came out with a billet g65 the thing is like supercharged sex
dude it is so nice and um it's made me contemplate things about what I want to do moving forward
because I would love to run that billet charger it's not cheap it's like a $3,500 charger but it's
so crazy that people are still doing things with the fucking g-60 dude it's a great motor it's a
great platform I know a lot of people shit on it and it's like you have to unfuck you know on g-60
the g-60 but that's what they're doing yeah because like all the issues that like a stock
g-60 charger had right are taken care of in a billet form um and it just looks so badass too this
this piece of just billet supercharged sex yeah I wonder I'm I wonder I look I didn't even know
anything about it and you told me about it and then I looked on their website before we started
recording and it does look really good um it looks very cool and I wonder what I wonder if it sounds
different yeah that's like a deeper tone because I don't know I just it's a solid piece as opposed
yeah like or I wonder if it's maybe quieter true because of that yeah it could be I don't I don't
know um but it it's certainly interesting that's for sure definitely is interesting and it's cool to
see you know something coming out new for g-60 platform because there's few far between places
that um are still specializing in g-60 stuff and they also do rebuilds so you can something
you rebuild stuff they also have you know I'm assuming they probably have rebuilt kits you
could most likely purchase from them but it seems like they're 100% all in on g-60s so g-40s anything
with a g-latter style charger they can like hook you up and take care of and that certainly is more
of a European thing than that I feel like than it is America more so because you had more just more
volume yeah they had more they had more and they had g-40s this is what we never got so
it makes more sense I would see a bunch of like newer builds on instagram and shit that have
g-60s in them yeah it's wild because they were a very good motor it was a good set the biggest
problem with the g-60 was like the management the digifont system was garbage and like if you had
like one vacuum line that had a leak in it you're chasing demons and gremlins all over the place
and you know it just be like the one charger exploding in the charger exploding and it's like
it was dude if you if you didn't have like a stock g-60 a stock crawler that was unmolested
you're just chasing gremlins the whole time because you don't know what people were doing what they
did in there what the maintenance was on the car so it's like it just got all the bad rep for all
the wrong reasons I don't know I've always listen I think I think they're quirky and I think they're
cool um the power band's always been great especially for the mark one platform it is and I remember
with like with your nuggy yellow with the lysolm charger yeah like that always pulled great that
thing felt amazing and it's crazy and you didn't even have you you didn't even really have a tuned
I did nothing on that so on my nuggy yellow g-60 corado and then also my silver um sorry silver
sedan synchro with the g-60 uh set up from the factory both those cars were stock cars and all
I did was change vacuum lines and put the lysolm charger on them and they were arguably my most
reliable cars I've had it's true it's ridiculous I can vouch for that we drove that silver sedan
down and back to Helen and no problems no issues my my nuggy yellow g-60 I drove from
North Carolina with Bill Stagan all the way back no problems through DC like you drove that for
years yeah I had a car for a while so um Seb Cole just did a g-60 swap like an old school style
swap in his mark one yep and it's been a fun little swap I love that car it's a great little car
like the g-60s get shit on but it's like 78 yeah you're doing 78 no but I mean his that is a that
is a great car yeah it's like it's got all that altitude it's funny because a lot of people are
always chasing what the next new thing is and it's cool to go back and like see what you know
what was cool say 15 20 years ago yeah absolutely it's still cool today yeah I get that um
also more and more um Sam Dobbins uh the calendar for 2026 is out on his website so
you can uh order that up now and it'll be out to you um he's also doing a little collaboration
with the Berg Ruff so Mark James involved with that so definitely check it out yep check that out
also uh I see Vannick on the page yes and it looks really good him and him and the mark one
match matchy matchy yes kind of cool very cool um Evie garage still has a 24 valve
rather pick up giveaway going on so like I slept on the mark two GLI with the the VR swap correct
the black one and went out to jersey and then it was for sale and then went for sale and
wherever went who knows right um that car was a really nice car yeah absolutely car to get into
I was like absolutely man why why did I put in for any of that and it's like you know what's weird
yeah I say all the time that VR's don't belong in mark ones yes I say it all the time yes there
are certain exceptions okay um we were talking about this over the weekend Kevin's car with
supercharged VR yes it there's for some reason that car is okay for me that's that's a nice it
works yeah it's clean it looks good it it sounds good it's just like it it does the thing it has
the part does thing very well this truck actually it looks nice I think it's fucking cool it is
and like I'm typically not in the VR thing in a mark one but man like I don't know something
about that truck like it kind of has the whole look to it and it for some reason I'm like yeah
that works yeah so like it's still time to get into that truck if you want to throw some money at it
and get some merch get into the giveaway um that's probably going to be most likely by the
I'll say December you know some of my have a brand new truck you know brand new to them pick up truck
um also DCI this weekend twister tots uh FDR park November 22nd um definitely support the
cause it's for the kids yep get out there if you can um I want to give a shout out to
he was formerly known as 19 with the 16 valve but now he is not a teenager anymore
which means he's officially 20 with the 16 valve he had a birthday a couple weeks ago
so shout to him he should change his name he did oh it's 20 with the 16 valve oh very awesome
it's so funny um also ES fabrication shout to um Zach he hooked me up with a mark one exhaust and
um Tiktok's downpipe you were just there yesterday I was just there yesterday yeah nice
he put it up for sales like do how much you want for it and I was like yep I'll be down after work
he lives like a little over an hour out from where I'm where I work at about two hours from here
so went down real quick turn around came right back home kind of where you were working next
morning he's fabricating up some cool shit oh yeah he's at the mark one is going to be doing
the case swap in and dude he is he's doing it yeah not only that but yeah like then the boss
that he's gonna work on forever and the the other parts that he's he's making yeah he's got some
parts for sale on his website uh check it out it's got um some um air cold merch that you can
install for your ride at some cup holders and stuff like that it makes it work a little better
more functional yeah it's very cool um we were talking about this briefly before
it was funny because you showed me a picture of a 77 dasher wagon yes I was gonna bring that up I
was like dude I already mentioned him um punk VW um he's had this uh dasher wagon it's a
beige dasher wagon 77 for a while I want to say like 2015 16 around there and it's a really cool
wagon it looks the part for sure it has a cool story behind it nobody does dashers yes and it's
like a good dasher looks fucking awesome absolutely and uh this has a little built a
valve in it um it's a nice one car it's got like some good patina and I was really thinking about
this car for a second and it just doesn't work for me right now timing wise um but definitely
check it out he has it on Haggerty so he's at the listing on Haggerty goes through everything about
the car um if you're looking for something that's really cool really different I because like obviously
the dasher for me is the B1 Passat so I've always thought it'd be cool to have a B1 Passat wagon
I mean I have no room for shit right now I can't buy anything anytime soon I'm already said I've
been done I'm done buying cars um cool cars like that and which is probably 100% a lie
I'm trying to stick with that you should not only stop buying you should start selling so dude
you fucking set me like this really badass uh rapper pickup truck that was uh some bright yellow
truck out of like Vegas and the guy was like trade for a mark four and like all of a sudden my
wheels are turning my head is like oh this would be sick so like it's a 16-valve swap truck
and it looked really nice it had a really nice interior done with car interior and I was like
wait a minute what the fuck am I doing I gotta stop because I'm gonna what trade this mark
one wrap pickup truck for my all-wheel drive three two mark four and what drive two pickup
in what daily drive the mark one pickup truck no what I what I was thinking was you
yeah you get rid of your wagon and then you had the truck and then you could get rid of the
truck that's not done because one was already you could add to the one that was already you know
dude I know I was trying to consolidate for you actually dude I appreciate that thanks
thanks for trying to do that for me um also I was so I just kind of um building uh put up my
house oh yeah still metal building how'd that work out carport yeah actually worked out really
so this is a carport that's behind your garage yeah so there was a um existing carport there
before that had a small it was a little wooden carport yeah it was like a boat storage and had
a little shed behind it and it was just brought the fuck to the ground and had my mark one GTI
in it right right and I was afraid that this thing's that's going to come down to the car
sure so I knew I had to replace it finally was able to get like the area cleaned out get that
building taken down poor concrete slab so if anyone's ever ordered one of like the Carolina
carports or our steel mount structure setups like they want all the site work done before
like you can actually put the orders through yeah complete the building so it makes sense I mean
it is yeah and those but the thing is can you this is why can you imagine how many fuck ups
are calling them yeah and then they'll show up and nothing enough they're not ready at all
and now you have a crew waiting like that's you can't I get it yeah but it was like an eight week
lead time yeah that's so it's like fuck yeah because I wanted this done in the beginning of summer
and they were like okay we're gonna come out around Columbus Day week in October
and then they called every week right past month and had a postpone and I get it whether you know
stuff that's going on whatever um they were able finally able to get out they put the building up
less than a day it was like they got to a nine we're done by three okay um but it is so because
I live in a little community so it's in a little bit of an HOA but a little small one it's nothing
there's no no crazy little bylaws or rules but I could only replace the structure with the structure
that had their existing because it's really close to the property line right and there's a water
access there at a water line so people are like um is there something that's missing like meaning
that like then complete the building like then enclose it and put a garage door I don't know it's
going to stay like that because it's kind of how well I want I need to do it now maybe down the
road I can enclose it if people like don't give a shit later on but like a carport yes and with
some storage in the back yeah so it's got a shed built into the back of it it's like a five by 14
so it's really narrow but very long um but what's going to be able to do is get all my shit out of
my garage there you go and like just my like we have a side by side we have a quad and you know a
couple of the mower sort of like that so all that shit is going to be in there all the racks that
are my garage they have car parts they're going to go back in there and I'm going to be able to
actually use the garage for car stuff isn't that amazing dude instead of just like walking around
shit and hoping I don't you know scratch a car and all this other stuff that's the american thing
dude you build a garage so you can work on cars yes you get car parts you get cars you get everything
you you put your tools in there you put everything a lift you do whatever you got to do now there's
no fucking room for the cars yeah I know dude you can't work on the cars because there's so much
shit everywhere so basically it's like the equivalent of like getting the daily for the daily it is
yes it is so what do you have to do after that you got to build another building dude I can't
so I'm pretty much maxed out all my like quarter yeah now now you you can't get more cars no I mean
I couldn't no of course you can't but I can't anybody can't no right but you gotta stop dude
we have 11 cars on a quarter of an acre I thought it was 12 we're 11 12 like my dad's car was there
for a little bit but that's gone now what are you counting the are you counting the old mustang
yeah yeah that's an account too I I sat down with Steph one day I was like oh I know she was talking
about it I said how many cars does he have no because she well she actually asked me and I said
I think he's got 12 dude so what's cool is now is since I have my side by side out there back
in now in that carport for the first time in four years my mark one rabbit GTI is back in the garage
it was such a like rewarding feeling isn't it awesome to pull it in there and like my son was
like helping like so I have my side by side out the back door of the garage I had the winch hooked
up and I had a little snatch block on with the winch and we were able to pull the GTI in with
the side by side winch and he was running the winch on now I'm like in there stop go keep going
nice and it's like once that car got into the garage it like reinspired me because like actually
fucking work on this thing yeah sure so and it's cool because it was you had it under that carport
wrapped up for the last couple years like three years yeah it's crazy it's like you see it again
and you're like oh yeah yeah like this thing's fucking awesome yes so yeah you you got to get
that thing going you know that thing right and I just went down and picked up an exhaust from it
yeah hey that's cool yeah that'd be awesome if you could get that out at some point next year
it would because it really doesn't need much I have all the parts to yeah you've been collecting
parts for years yeah it's five years yeah it's wild but yeah no it's it's very cool I'm glad
that you got your carport man yeah I'm happy about it because I wanted it for before winter
and here we are it's just about winter oh fuck yeah it's snowed a few times already yes
you got anything else one quick shout out for Trisha Turbo doing the apt mirrors the ABT
mark 3 carbon fiber mirrors if you're looking for something different yeah the carbons they're
like bespoke parts so check them out they're really badass they really actually came out nice
and they look good they're not for everybody but if you're trying to run no carbon is bold
yes carbon is definitely bold it's like we can always paint carbon too and we have the accent
pieces you know it right when you paint it then it's like well why do you have the carbon like
yeah and I get you know you know it's just like one of those things where a lot of people if they're
doing carbon parts they want to show it off oh absolutely I think I think it's cool when like
when like say carbon hoods first came out and a really big thing and people like left the corner
of the carbon hood and not painted right you're like oh shit's carbon fiber hood I thought I was
kind of cool yeah so yeah check them out cool um well we again haven't uh we haven't recorded
in a while so we asked for some questions we're gonna run through them and then maybe we'll wrap
up sweet uh all right Connor McCann says where the fuck have you two been what up Connor hey man
we've been here yeah we're here dude we're here don't you don't you worry don't you fucking worry
buddy I was uh talking to Connor because now we're getting into these cold winter months and it's like
there's not much going on shows are over um like we can't get complacent we can't like fucking
uh get down because of the weather we just got to keep grinding and organizing shit and working in
the garage because like now once you get your stuff organized again it just gives you reinvigorates
totally yep when you have all your stuff put away and ready to actually like do something
it's such an amazing thing dude I wanted to like burn everything to the ground at one point I was
like I want to go buy a place it's overwhelming I'm not gonna get rid of all my cars yeah and I'm
like where's all fun in that right so yeah because then all you do is you'd get the Prius
everything would be gone then you'd have space for cars yes you'd start buying more cars which
which would be fun yes yeah um German bomber okay we got one of his uh infamous scrap daily or
garage okay cool okay so you're gonna scrap daily or garage a c7 corvette zero one a Cadillac
ctsv wagon or a Buick Grand National GNX so I'm scrapping the Corvette fuck the Corvette
um I'm daily in the ctsv wagon in the Grand National it's gonna be uh that's gonna be like
the baby yeah that's gonna be the one you garage yeah I don't think I could argue with that
maybe switch the scrap and the daily with the c7 and the the wagon I know the wagon makes a
lot of sense for like family and all that shit and you still have an LS which is cool yeah um
those ctsv wagons like they they're they're so badass and they made so few numbers of them
you don't even see them you barely see one you do and they go for fucking they still go for like
60 thousand dollars they're crazy and the Corvette's cool and I get the fun factor to Corvette
but for a daily I would get tired of a Corvette I think just lack of space yeah I you're probably
right I'd rather have a mark one for a daily than a Corvette you're probably right I would definitely
garage the the GNX yes that's for sure that's no question um that's a good one dude keep them
coming that was pretty cool uh what are cool says um what are some things that you hope to see
change for the next year's show seasons like cars or trends stuff like that
it's a great question I think kind of questions the deeper one yeah go ahead no I I think like
talking about like say a company that is specializing in like g-charges I want to see companies
come back out with stuff and support for earlier cars and early performance performance stuff for
earlier cars yes and it's like you know we've talked to Aero about this from Aero's auto works
and the the biggest issue is it's such a small group of people that are doing this and into these
cars so a lot of times like the money's just not worth the turnaround on it because they're not
going to really make something that's gonna make a worthwhile to do it but I think more like you
said before like a company that's in Europe yeah that has more just more cars more saturation more
correct whatever people that are still into these cars more more of these older cars I think or even
like Volkswagen because you see like there is Porsche for instance that you know has like
their line for like older cars and you can be able to you can purchase parts for older vehicles
I think so Volkswagen right now has said we got one or two more years before we're really
fucked because they have shot themselves in the foot so much with like the EV bullshit
and put all this money and stuff that's not selling and whatever if they came out with a
heritage line of like Volkswagen parts for like Mark Ford down they would crush it yeah Mercedes
does it Porsche does it like all these different companies they do it BMW does it I was talking
to Scott Norton about this like you can buy parts for an E30 yeah you can just go and buy parts that
you need right they will supply it yes 2002 you can buy parts or not not the year but if BMW
2002 from like the 72 yeah and it's like how does Volkswagen not see that they have a huge
enthusiast following all over the world I don't I don't fucking know like that's what needs to
spend our the whole rest of the episode trying to figure out why they can't figure certain things
out we always talk about this shit and it's like always we this is what I want and I don't know if
it would obviously it would never be possible I want to go in and sit on an executive board
in Volkswagen look guys this is what you fucking need to do yeah of course stop pandering to the
bullshit people that want you to do all like the EV stuff and like the soccer moms get back to and
enthusiast based well kind of cars even if you did do say you like you said uh some kind of vintage
arm where they take care and they produce new stuff for older vehicles right that's
if you figure out some of the stuff that you really need to get some of the hard to find parts
but that people need you know um door cards grills like what's just stupid shit tail lights
dude dashboard dashboards course they sell dashboard and and how hard would it be to get
some of those mostly yeah you pick out I don't know a thousand dashboards you're probably gonna
sell out every one of them yeah it's over 500 bucks and we all saw a few months ago a couple
months ago that that new dashboard company just dashes just expensive because they're kind of
one off they're not doing a mass production of a lot correct but if you want to re-wrap a dash
oh yeah they can do it for you yeah yeah just dashes has been around for forever yeah right
it's just cool that now they're offering some of that yes so that's what I want to see but um yeah
yeah no I agree uh trends um some things that you like to see change so what what I do feel like
we're seeing less of is some of the bullshit as far as drivability and now we're actually
seeing more people want to drive especially like in our scene when I say our scene I see pre2k stuff
right yeah a lot of people are like putting reasonable sized tires on things sure they're
they're having reasonable drive heights they're figuring out the trajectory of their suspension
like like there's actually seems to be like oh like these cars are fun yeah you know what I mean
and they don't always have to be like slammed completely on their nuts where it's like totally
inaccessible to even leave your driveway um not that there isn't a place for that too no but what
saying is like it seems like people are are driving more almost yeah um if that makes any
sense like they're they realize that it's almost like this fleeting thing and they can actually get
out when they have some time and it's not always oh we go straight to a car show it's like if you
have a Saturday and you want to go for a ride that's a lot of fun you know exactly um for so many
reasons so many reasons yeah um it's funny because if you look at stuff that's
the trends of the past Volkswagen's in general I think the enthusiast Volkswagen not like the
company have set trends for a lot of the other automotive enthusiasts in other cars dude they
they've changed the world a couple times over yeah and it's been the enthusiast like the
all about that that has done that like so when like all right so take the fast and furious era
time of cars and you had everybody had the big wangs and they're over compensating for things
that they didn't have or whatever and they had all the decals and cars and the body kits and
Volkswagen's were always more subtle always they're always more of a stance look it was always
about the look of the car it's always more of um not as you know the having the fastest car in the
world or how you know how you know you want to race how fast is your car but how how good it looks
just sitting there it was like fun in a mature way yeah and yeah and beautiful you know absolutely
um and it wasn't gaudy it was never gaudy um but yeah no I I agree I think uh a lot of the new
stuff and I just I mean I it sucks to say this because I'm a full you know enthusiast I just
can't get into anything newer I just like and I was talking about like what would I buy if I like
you know say I say I sold every single car and I'm staying in the Volkswagen segment what would
I buy you know to probably be something like uh mark seven maybe you know rabbit edition GTI
or maybe a Golf R you know 7.5 Golf R something like that um but I don't like a lot of the
how do I say this everything looks the same everything's all Chineseium fucking looks to it
everything's made in China it just looks cheap it doesn't look and they're not charming no like
those cars aren't charming it's not a charming look yeah it just looks like a lot of the trends
of other car manufacturers sure I just don't like it yeah um Jesus okay auto where are we at here
I just lost it
auto krig nyc says um what can the community do to get more episodes listen man
we try we're trying man we listen we got we got one comment out after this that will probably be
our thanksgiving episode oh I didn't tell you Danny but I was talking to vanik today yeah and uh we
might do uh you and me cruise out to vanik's place that'd be awesome and do a christmas special
yes we would talk about this for a few years and he goes all off for christmas for sure we did a
halloween special with him yeah um i think christmas special would be fantastic yeah okay so we're
on board with that uh yeah man so listen we try there's just been it's been wild but uh yeah you
got shit going on we had shit going on we'll keep trying you know we're not stopping anytime soon
that's for sure if we ever do stop we're gonna be like look guys we're stopping you know we'll tell
you we're pretty much it but we're not stopping uh we're still here boost him 28 says one show that
you would love to go to overseas so now it's like if you got like the new the you know where the sea
starting back up yeah you got that I think that'd be cool to see just for the experience of going to
that venue area town that kind of thing correct um there is a number of things that are happening
I feel like overseas and what they're doing is they're doing not that we can't do it here and
I want to do something like this at some point soon um but they are like invite only oh yeah
grassers on itself literally in the grass yeah probably near a barn somewhere right it's a beautiful
backdrop um like the old-timer thing that happened a few months back and yes stuff like that yeah
old-timer trapping yeah exactly old-timer trapping so like those kind of shows it sounds goofy to say
that I would travel many many hours to just hang out in a field with a couple of people for a few
hours but like that's what's up I think the smaller the smaller gigs yeah are going to shine
a little bit more um just of the nature of like we are becoming more and more of like a niche group
absolutely and we can't stop because we're all in it obviously we're all still here yeah um so we
kind of just create some of these more uh I guess really focused shows yeah I agree which I think are
cool um what else we got here frosty beat says what's a car that you've seen at a show in the
past and never saw again they owe that always stuck with you that's a good one there there are
a couple that I remember that you know they would pop up in uh like h2o back in the day
that's what mine goes to as well there's there's one so there's two cars for some reason I'm just
popping them ahead right now there was one top dog car that was like years ago and I forget I
forget the guy's name because now he has a mark one I don't even think he's on instagram anymore
it's like box something or whatever but he had a polished vr in a shaved bay it was a tornado
big bumper uh mark four jetta slammed on air but the bay was tan do you remember that car I always
talked about there's that and um just because uh love it and dove and posted this a few months back
and then I watched the whole thing again the whole water works like those couple of years where
they're doing the h2o specials and yeah they were blown it out of the water the videos were so
fucking good because they were like actually it was like it was cinema yeah cinematography in
and Volkswagen's together and that was something that a lot of people weren't doing it was usually
just like crappy video here and there but um there was this it was just a such a simple it was a it was
a diesel mark one silver car slammed on 13 inch ats wheels and it's just like there's something about
that car I remember seeing it that year and being like there's always a car that sticks out and you
don't know why like you told me about that one uh it was a was it a beetle with an aba swap or
something no dude I was gonna mention this that's funny you said that so we're on the same wavelength
here but it was a beetle air-cooled beetle with a g60 swap it was a silver air-cooled beetle
h2o um it had Porsche twist wheels on it and it was a g60 swapped car so um that was the first
the only time I ever saw was h2o and then never saw it anywhere ever again there's also um a
rad pickup truck that I remember uh it was a blue rad pickup truck that had a g60 swap in it and had
a stick it was a little decal to stick in the engine bay we're just a cleaned up bay not necessarily
free shaved right but had a little decal to stick in there no shit and I never saw that blue pickup
truck ever again either but yeah this just sticks out of my mind that's probably fuck 2008
nine maybe I don't even remember there was those cars were sure there was a wicked vr6 like
chromed up vr6 slc brown yeah on air that thing was fucking sick I remember walking towards
the uh what walking towards like the the top dog area yeah and it was like right outside of it but
it was right up front and you know you just like it's funny you remember even where the cars were
placed like in the show field or whatever when you there was that one car that turned that one guy
turned into uh village customs or whatever he just does rat rods or whatever but it was that
flat green I think it was even flat blue or something before the mark one that was like the
first kind of like fully body dropped okay yeah mark one uh that kind of sticks out in my head
you know there's a bunch but these are just some of the ones that are like just on the top of
me on top of my mind um all right what else we got here simply diet says what vr6 engine is your
favorite I mean there's always going to be a place in my heart for 12 valves no matter what
100% like every vr in general has progressed and become what it is now even like you know on an
atlas but like the 12 valve is always going to be the 12 valves original it's like the og
how about that like super super original prototype like 2.0 vr6 yeah I mean that would be the shit
there that was like made that that tiny little thing yeah how fucking cool would that have been
yeah or diesel version yeah so crazy um rabbit dropping says how many cheeses can you name in 10
seconds is it cheeses cheeses oh cheeses Jesus Christ I'm like cheeses Havarti swiss
fucking uh uh of course is where I draw a blank American cheddar fucking what else we got oh my
god asiago uh parmesan feta feta cassetti oh uh I think we're past 10 seconds yeah well thanks
Garrett yeah vwgabe says uh seeing conversations recently about whether a 07k sounds better than
06 your take no I just went right into it no um it does sound good it does sound good it has you
know five sonar sounds five sonar sounds are reminiscent of like you know going back to
homage of the Audi cars and like you know you have like a new rs3 stuff and it's such a good
sounding motor but just does not sound like a vr6 it doesn't and what I will say though is like you
so now that we've been like we've been literally hearing vr6's for like 30 some years yeah and it
never gets old it doesn't get old but what I will say is maybe it could get common not common maybe
you start to almost like what's the word like it starts becoming numb numb that's a good word for it
so like then you hear something like a five-cell and you're like oh that's different you know I don't
think so but the reason why I say that okay is because like now since they've stopped production of
them like think about this dude just in our town here how many times you hear a vr go by
it's like zero yeah but when you do you're like holy shit yeah yes where I see two fives all
over the fuck a place it might be this a mark 5 jet or whatever right and you're just like
fucking whatever yeah it might doesn't have might not have an exhaust on it or whatever but it's like
even a stock vr you're like oh vr yep it just it sounds you're right I love them um x bring us x
says did Ryan sell the r32 already yeah sorry man later uh please um afro fish one two three
says did you think vdub was punished too harshly for diesel game 100% because
fucking Danny gaming hot here you fucking go no because like it just pisses me off so fucking much
because they were making strides in diesel hybrid technology I know let's not get so
over dude it just sucks because it's every time this is not the anniversary of it so
um it's like what do you mean 10 years later yes you're right so this is like they haven't
been 10 years ago now looking at Volkswagen now they haven't been able to recover because of
fucking diesel in a way they're into the problems because like the global market wanted to push them
to go to ev and the folks are like no we're doing diesel stuff fuck you and they're certainly
hold my beer we've talked we're gonna fuck you we've talked to we've talked about this before
because there's politics involved too yes um they they Mercedes was found out uh Dodge was found
out Chevy like every yeah every main festival they weren't punished no no we're near and they
were doing the same shit yes and they weren't punished no we're near as bad as Volkswagen
so yes they were um they were punished pretty harshly they were
cap underscore mark one says when is mark one Mueller going to get that trailer
that's a good question for him yeah what remains to be seen absolutely ugly boo boo says
uh oh cdm it's a longer question okay i'll have to go to the dm after this
he's slid into your dm yeah no poke no love says opinions on mark threes hate them love them
do people hate them because of the rust or the style the rust is what probably gets a lot of us
in our area because oh for sure we don't have mark threes anywhere no no we just don't we just don't
have we don't exist dude they're gone yeah they're not here it's not here i don't i don't hate mark
threes um no you you've uh actually had them yeah and i i would like if i found like a clean vr
you know gti i would i'd have another one for a little while just like that to me though it's
not like it's a beater like i would have a clean runner right good and then i'd just be happy to like
because you have a vr sound yeah so like you get on it every once in a while it you know it's not
fast it's not particularly good at like handling it's it's just like it is what it is i don't hate
mark threes i don't fucking love them i think uh like they're cool whatever i think now because
obviously i'm getting older and older and like they're not hard hard to find they've gone cooler
and cooler but i remember you can make a period correct with a lot of cool parts too yeah like
there was a time like i almost bought a mark three that was a newer mark three and like i
would have been completely happy and fine with it um but that was when it was still like a pretty new
car um and i was still really young and couldn't afford it but um no i i i enjoy mark threes i like
mark threes i i've never had the inkling to want to buy sorry here yeah you've never had one so
i've always done like what the other car would have been so like all right my my b3 basat is
basically like a mark three yeah not yeah right the way it's set up so my b my my vr wagon i had
was basically like a mark three yeah it's just a wagon version yeah you know so yeah like the odd
stuff that likes it it's like parts of it but not really right so like you know i have a mark
four wagon now like the b five and a half basat is basically like a bloated mark four you know
interior smells and the crayons and all that kind of stuff you know it's all very similar so um
and there are wanted certain cars or haven't wanted to go back certain cars because of those
cars i've had so like right now being i have a um i have two b three still currently um it doesn't
make me want to have a mark three unless it was like something special an old drive version of you
know something new to sink row but i don't know i think really nice mark threes are cool yeah
uh shitty mark threes are shitty yeah that's it and like there's no port there's no part where i'd
see a shitty mark three and be like yo we should revive this dude because like a shitty mark three
doesn't have like good patina no mark threes didn't patina very well they don't have that look of like
say uh like a mark one was fucking patina yeah even mark twos are hard with the patina thing like
they don't really they don't even really patina well right mark twos and mark threes are not yeah
mark ones look cool like that but yeah even like anything mark two and up i think patina wise this
just doesn't work as well no so um uh maxwell house 46 says what's the chocolate was the chocolate
cheese nice i need to know she's talking about way back at h2o yeah yeah we did have chocolate cheese
and i do recall it being pretty good it was surprisingly better i thought yeah because we
we got it because it was definitely a novelty thing but uh yes it came out to be not bad yes
cast performance says most hated engine and why is it the one point a t i don't know why
would that would be i think the two leader i would in my book i already agree would say two
leader turbo is a more hated engine than 180 i yeah fuck the two leader turbo dude i i love
180s i think 180s are great they're good for swaps they're good for dailies they're they're
good in a lot of applications you must hate 180s maybe that's funny we should talk about it one day
that's awesome uh jeta two nr says favorite build of the year one that you have not seen before
oh man when people put me so one that we haven't seen before that was a favorite build of the year
well first of all how many builds were there four no i mean there's been a lot of builds
oh you know so one that we haven't seen though so i know i know i know i'm sorry no you're good
it is 100% and i think it just came out on the the cover of the new pvw okay it is the black mark
one rs3 full all-wheel drive oh yeah that car is sick wide body then that's that car is
fuck you awesome yes like it just it looks like it's built it's done well it's got the attitude
it's got the power to prove it yeah that thing is probably so fucking scary and we briefly talked
about that car probably last year when it was still being filled yes like it was coming yeah i remember
when i started seeing parts of it i'm like holy shit this thing is not yes it is a very very well
built car it's it's sick that's probably that's probably that is the car i think that car is amazing
yeah i think that just hit the new pvw i think it's on the front cover yeah yeah um
do you remember sorry real quick sidetrack do you remember um the white car that came out it was
the white mark one gti and it came out in h2o and it had the four two swap it was mid engine four two
i don't remember that it had an it either had an s4 or an rs4 engine i actually think it was an rs4
engine if i remember correctly it had um like weird flares they weren't like bird cup flares but they
were almost like they came straight out on the wheels oh and it was fucking nuts yes yes there's
something about that car that i still like i just thought was so cool um some people thought it was
like really ugly and like weird because of like the flares probably and everything else because it
needed to be wide but like the sound that came out of it it's like in a mark one you're like what the
fuck right and he he went to sell that years ago for like 80 grand holy and that was years ago that
was before you anyone ever said anything like that money for cars yeah people said like 20 grand for
mark one they were like are you fucking kidding right this dude's asking 80 yeah and it was like
it had to be your cup of tea i bet he still has it he probably does you know what's why some guy
like dubai has it or something what about like that um burgundy mark one that had like what was it
the um gold schmidt uh modern line monoblocks with the weird the weird big fender flares that were
like kind of more so in the front than in the back so we're like really really protruding out of the
body lines like the wheels are so wide and it's like i haven't seen that car yeah it was like
rounded off in a weird way it looked like a half a bowl was sitting over yes the wheels
and it just i don't know it you know twist your own sure it i i never was a fan of that yeah
yep uh vdub man 91 says big bumper or small bumper mark two what's your flavor small bumper big door
so i like i like i like a big bumper car also if it's a 16 valve car i don't know why i liked big
bumper mark twos all day whether it be jettas or gtis yeah and i not that i don't anymore i've lean
more towards the small bumper stuff now i i agree with that i and i've had small i've had two small
bumper jettas and now i have a small bumper mark two in the in the garage now i like if i already
have an opportunity to ever like say um think about a golf limited that or like a build like a one
off build of a golf limited that's why i would want a small yeah i think small bumper is more
unassuming and it's fucking just cooler and what i need to find is i don't need to find it so like
i'll probably get a million messages after this but oh jeez um a late four door mark two with power
everything and leather interior power windows leather interior so then i can do a uh a golf
limited there you go um is a poor guy says our mark threes the new mark twos being that it's
almost 2026 i think the mark threes are the new i'm sorry mark fours are the new mark threes
yeah if you look at that because there are the cars that are still around but even those are barely
here they're they're not plentiful we're not seeing many mark fours anymore in our area
shout out to ian and um we had a conversation about this um i'm glad that he actually uh
messes just because um so he had a tropic orange mark four gti vr6 car that he bought brand new off
the showroom floor and he had this car forever and um it he he wound up selling it probably around
i want to say nine years ago and now it's actually come back into the the vw circle of our friends
and randy has it um so shout out for ian shout out to randy because the car is back into the circle
they followed the car randy followed the car and knew where it was the whole time
and it's cool to see that thing actually go back to people that actually care about it yeah that's
cool um rd media ink says what are some interior or exterior parts that are hard to come by
or no longer in production that you would love to see made again but it's so funny they say that
mark one or mark two or mark three gauge pods cup holders trim whatever dashboards door panels
headliners oh yeah i mean headliners for sure door i mean dash is such a big thing
an a nice early mark one an early german car everything's cracked i i have actually two
like decent no shit up up in the attic up there nice um but yeah dude you can't fight and
forget about like shirako stuff and all that's a late westy fucking um
cigarette uh coin door yeah because like that's impossible to find one of those because i don't
like fuck this thing and just throw it on the trash like yeah i don't know why they're just always
gone they're always gone i need one for my truck and then it's like it's how about the knee bar on
the in the front of a nice like early mark one yeah like those are usually not even part of the car
anymore the plastic bumper and caps i mean that's like exterior not interior but there's so many
things yeah anything yeah cup holders what cup holders yeah cup holders um yeah dude like we said
if if they could come with a vinter together together and start selling stuff they could make a
lot of money on it loiter squad says uh i just got a second owner 1990 gti eight valve that has
three hundred and seventy thousand on sick uh it's in solid shape but the engine is tired
do we oh seven k it or do we 180 it that's funny how we're talking about all the shit yeah we're
all on the same wavelength yeah right now dude it's pretty cool uh in a mark two um 180 it i know
you don't like 180s and mark twos you told me that yeah i love them in mark threes i think in mark
threes it was so good in a mark two i'm just not a fan of it but then again why is that
you know what i just i think the mark the the the 180 works well in a mark one in the mark
three in a mark two i just don't like the way it looks in the bay okay i don't think i don't think
an oh seven k looks good in the mark two bay no no i don't either you know it's funny i think it's
almost like we've been programmed because we've seen so many VR's in a mark two you look at like
it should be a 16 valve or a vr right and then you see like a 180 or like uh oh so you're like
huh all right so i'm gonna um give him a third option for that one four one four i knew you're
one four looks great in a mark two i i do too i actually think it looks decent like because
if it's a car that isn't 100 show right then it looks like it could almost have been made for
that car yeah um it fits the bay well it's a small engine it it's a lot of plastic which
kind of sucks but like it does look decent if you're going for that kind of this was here already
look yes yes um it'd make good power yeah great power and everything else and you get one for
copart smashed up for like you know the full car swap car for like less than a grand there's got
to be more r&d put into these one fours like people are starting to figure shit out i still
think people are running into issues where they're not perfect yet okay um you know you got they're
pretty close you got i think dave doing his thing now you got uh tech 53 doing their thing yeah um
matt's done one yeah tc shop yeah your craft right tech 53 yeah so like there are there are things
that are certainly being done but i don't think even with matt i think matt basically has whatever
down but i think he's still maybe he was talking about just starting to add a bigger turbo now and
now he's i don't know he didn't i didn't talk to him too much on rabbits on the rocks it was really
quick but um you know there there's there's cooling issues there's all kinds of stuff like
i just don't know i think i think there has to be some r&d like still figured out it is when you
think about it it makes so much sense it does for so many you get a factory six speed manual
bolted right yeah a mark one a mark two a mark three a fucking van again a fucking boss uh what
it like yeah it makes so much sense and garret is that's like his plan for this winter 214 is
putting the one four in so i mean i think for his build um if i mean oh seven k's are plentiful
and you can make it oh seven k look decent i see i prefer no you can i know i prefer the
oh seven k with the larger engine cover as opposed to like no engine cover and a built valve cover
whatever i do well i like the build valve cover but i don't like it when it's no engine cover
and nothing yeah it looks terrible and i think it looks like shit yeah so i think the bigger cover
makes it look good i think oh seven k looks good um in the factory you look for right yeah i get that
um what a cool it says when is ryan gonna sell me his uh white 16 valve mark one that's funny oh man
maybe we'll talk no i'm getting i mean well maybe not no he can always do a train and cash with
the Porsche i mean i think he just got rid of oh i know i could be wrong okay i saw him say
something like moving on to better things but maybe i'm wrong uh ian rubbish says euro tripper
question mark if not please consider fix fest and then he has two deer and look a little explosion
on the end oh my goodness so you're so you and rubbish um he has tried to help me not hit deer
by uh giving me deer whistlers and and throw the whistlers on no it doesn't i don't think it's gonna
help well i'm afraid that they're coming your way they know no matter what it is what it is
side note your trip or i want to definitely try to do your trip or i enjoy going down there for
that show um so we'll see okay what about fix fest um that would be cool also yeah um all we'll
drive wagon says what are some of your favorite builds projects currently well again i think my
favorite build right now is the oh seven k mark no not oh seven k the rs three what's that engine
code again of um a oh you rs three engine code not not oh seven k it's like no i know it's it's
whatever the fuck it is but that mark one that black mark one so sick um yeah i think that that car
is gonna be something that people are gonna be looking at um over and over because one of those
cars you're gonna look at it and probably like okay cool and then you go back to make oh i didn't
notice this i didn't see that i didn't realize i had this like that is uh um that's a build man
that's a sick build i don't know how to describe that car that's like what a build should be um
yes i'm looking at this one picture i'm trying to scroll real quick to find a picture of a
uh mark one that i don't remember the guy's name 16 valve euro car okay um it's a pretty
track focused car he's on 13's he's got the center exhaust in the rear he's got like a camey like
front dam yeah what the fuck is it i mean even all will drive wagon like awd wagon like his
uh mark six two five uh turbo wagon is a sick build i know he's still working on it and he's
still doing it um oh yeah yeah this guy yeah it's k and a rf mark one yeah narf or narf yeah mark
one but like this is like a track car yeah um very cool and like this dude everything he shows is
like on a track yeah sounds good looks good and you talk about daza daza swap oh daza yeah um
fuck i just lost the rest of the questions i only think we had like three more here we go uh
66 ish beetle says when's one of you going to buy an air-cooled car too cool to join in on the pain
no not too cool want to buy another air-cooled car for sure you talked about this uh fairly recently
about what you know what you would like to get into for an air-cooled vehicle 100 for me i think
it's kind of a pipe dream because i would love to have um a notch back and like the prices are
just so stupid for the notch backs they are we're like 10 years ago and going for like not nothing
but like a very reasonable price yeah and for me i think a notch back is where i would want yeah
and yeah they're happening times you know less yeah a sick deal comes and falls in my lap um
um justin weikoff says what's your favorite vw interior
so i for me um i think no matter
so i'm always very drawn to lipstick red and i love the way the lipstick red looks and then
i love it too look at the california into you know interiors that has the red with the plaid
yeah of course i was gonna say that um i think lipstick red has worked at i just think the red
is such a a cool old old school old style look because even like 50s and 60s cars that came with
red interiors just look so good i think lipstick red is is my favorite style color interior um
honorable mention for me the b3 facade gts in europe came with a gray plaid that we never got here
and i think it's such a great looking interior um and i love the source one for my wagon the
the the first like the s1 had a like if you got viper green yeah that interior the plaid
with green and yellow squares yeah not too good so fucking awesome um like that's that
shit was fucking stock yeah looks so good why don't we do cool shit like that um yeah i guess
they did read you know they did the return of the plaid and the mark fives and you know that was
probably a bold move at the time yeah but whatever it's all gray scale shit um there were some
some miami blue cars that had white interiors all that would be nice and that was a great combo of
course that california edition that was so good with the because that was like a white car with
the red and white plaid in interior yeah um man i am super boring when it comes to this because i
love super super clean old man spec yeah so like a mark two with like cloth like
fucking tan okay yeah like just clean with uh like a beige out exterior yeah i think if you
like put that slam down on like good wheels yeah i think that combo is fucking all that's a great
combo that's a nice i also just like you know the normal peanut butter like interiors on mark
ones like if it's clean i love the early s2 shirako interiors that have the plaid also
because you got a blue interior shirako and a blue plaid interior i i dude i can't even picture it i
know it's like they could have that one i parted out i don't even know that put the seats in the
mind that has the brown and tan interior like it's those plaid seats are great wow well that is
it for us dudes um wow we're at a buck 42 yeah man so we did it we're glad we're back
