Wicked. Now Jeevan, you won't be a stranger I'm sure to many people as a valued member of the
Driven Not Hidden Collective of course and you've also joined us on a fair number of road trips I
guess over the years. Have indeed, have indeed. Your Instagram being Porsche Adventures I think
sums up your approach and application to Porsche ownership rather neatly because you don't do
things by halves you've done some serious mileage in your cars. I guess to kick things off would
you mind telling people which Porsche you have and is it your first one? So it's in fact my second
Porsche I had a 997 4S previously and then departed with that and then now I've got a 991.1 C4 GTS
seems to be the model to have I think. Mega soundtrack mega soundtrack mega spec on that as
well do I recall Bermister in there? There it is yeah Bermister PDCC all leather top everything yeah.
Yeah extended leather all over the joint and yeah as we pointed out it seems to have been a noble
steer for your adventures all over the continent because you've been down into the depths of Italy
you've been up to yeah halfway up Norway with us previously and Northumberland earlier this year as
well. Yeah Scotland, Wales in fact funnily enough we did just a few years back once we did
north go 500 we went all the way to the tip of north and then we did south as well that same
year so that's quite good fun. Excellent excellent driven art hidden mate. Pretty much pretty much.
Talk to us about that 997 I don't know much about that to be honest with you.
Yeah I mean that was I think that's what started the Porsche journey I really wanted to get into
a Porsche and I thought you know what I really loved the model 997 from kind of early days and
I was like you know what I wanted a forest purely because of the shape
and just how it looked and yeah just I think at that point decided it is the one I wanted
and fortunately there was no nine works at that time or nine works marketplace so
there you go the hunting began in front of you right where gonna buy what I'm gonna buy.
Yeah and you know what it's funnily enough I have seen some rogue kind of I say spec and also
cars as well you know the odd the IMS issues and stuff like that but yeah I think luckily I've got
a good ish one but again I think at that point I was living in central London it was manual
wasn't doing any good to my left leg at all but yeah I kept it for a while got really good
opportunity to get another car that point so yeah departed with it and then just had to get back
into a Porsche after that just nothing else yeah. So when you were mentioning IMS I'm assuming that
was gen one then it was yeah yeah yeah so gen one manual coupe yeah beautiful beautiful and then so
where did the like gts fit in because I mean it is it's a cracking car and I'm adamant as well I
mean you've said that the exhaust is stock but the soundtrack on it is absolutely awesome yeah
yeah I get that from everyone nothing nothing done to it funnily enough Porsche Bournemouth
have just recently replaced the exhaust on it backbox on it it was yeah just nothing on their
stock you know I've offered toyed with do I need something louder and it's how I pull up so once
heard that they're like you don't need anything louder trust me yeah so yeah yeah I think I was
looking for a 991 definitely something newer a bit more modern at that time I went through two
airs four airs and I was like I'm not sure then got into the gts spec had everything and a bit more
just felt a bit more special and yeah just kind of just setting heart and getting a gts at that
point yeah mega mega it's such a yeah a brilliant package and such like an awesome all-rounder I
mean again I remember like following that car through the twisties up in Norway and I mean
that car really delivered a visceral drive but again also delivered comfort when you needed it
for you and Tash as well and you guys spoke through the experience previously on Nineworks radio
wasn't it when we were all sitting at the yeah and the Flexi Plus lounge waiting for like the
midnight train back to Blighty from France very much yeah remember that it's a it's a really
really nice car that uh yeah wide body black exterior black leather I can't remember if you've
got the Alcantara in there as well yeah Alcantara with the crayon stitching beautiful beautiful so
the next question is is it going to be hanging around because I know you're always looking at
other things so I absolutely blame you for this
wait I just when I thought oh you know what I don't need a GT3 in my life I've just had a lot
of baby now I'm all right and then you come along yeah just scratch that itch
when's it happening then wait I honestly don't know I've had this car look yeah
bless the CRs I had to turn the alerts back on now because of this chap
no I um so I had I think the longest car I've had actually just over six and a half years
so and it and you know to its testament you could practically do everything and everything
with it we went to the track day absolutely had blast come back and drove home and then went out
for the evening yeah it was super super good car I do want to get a GT3 however I don't want to part
from it as well so yeah I'm not sure yet just the hunt is on but just yeah buy my time at the moment
yeah yeah well played I mean we covered a video on this subject on Nomus TV back in the summer
with none on 1.1 we compared C2 SVC4S so just rear wheel drive the all wheel drive 911 and it
really reminded me just how convincing the all wheel drive package is particularly in like
modern Porsches you have to be seriously tanking on in order to fill the difference and certainly
for my money I think I would rather the the C4 or C4S or C4 GTS equivalent over the rear wheel
drive car because it just gives you that extra modicum of stability at the front without taking
too much away from how the car drives it still very much drives and feels like a 911
yeah I couldn't agree more especially I've used my car pretty much all year round and having that
extra additional security I've been in really bad weather conditions where I know my friends
have suffered worse you know squeaky bum time so you start your back fish tailing and stuff so
I've had literally no issues just ploughing straight through so yeah I couldn't couldn't
agree more mate excellent stuff excellent stuff well yeah as we said we're super super chuffed

oh I had a drive in some old shonky 996 the other day
wasn't too bad actually doesn't narrow it down mate
come on then let's have you let's have your AB verdict verdict was um yeah I really enjoyed
that car it was interesting actually because we met up and had a little drive out um in the morning
I was driving the 992.2 GT3 Touring which um didn't do too much for me to be honest which
was a bit of a surprise after I loved that Carrera T just a few weeks ago um yeah hitting the roads
in the GT3 Touring it was it just felt too good and too fast for me so it was really refreshing to
then take over the wheel of your new 996 GT3 and absolutely love it just for you know it was fun at
all speeds it's you know the old school vibes are definitely there with that uh that next
grade gym what a fantastic sounding thing it is really enjoyed that the attractive suspension
that's a huge win isn't it makes it so usable it's still a lary little bastard when it's on cup
twos and it's a bit bit slippery and you're sort of you know getting in the higher rev range
um you have to keep your wits about you with that steering wheel um it does want to do its thing
and the attractive doesn't you know fix all ills as it were um but that's great that's that's the
sort of excitement that I enjoy and want is the car to to have a little bit of a kick back and to
to fight a bit now and again so you're talking about four-wheel drive safety I think you're
absolutely bananas give me give me that arse end fishtailing that's where I'm at come on boys get
with the program yeah yeah yeah do you know what I have to say the the drive on the way out so the
three of us for the benefit of listeners the three of us met up at podium place up in Newbury
and the other day with it being fairly equidistant between our houses and and Andy like the drive
up through the countryside obviously you and I neglected to take the auto routes the motorway
and and went fully cross country yourself in the touring I was in in my GT3 and yeah I even thought
in comparison to say like that drive in the 40th which I've done many a time through Stockbridge
and whatnot you know back in the 40th I'd be in fifth gear chunkering along there but in the GT3
it was in third gear revs high letting that engine sing and as you said the car is busy
particularly on the damp roads as they were on on cup twos the car was twitchy and we weren't
being we weren't going silly in terms of the speed limit but let me tell you boys that entire
journey fully stimulated shall we say fully stimulated and you jump out close the door and
that is what a sports car is all about yeah absolutely loved it loved it so that was it was
interesting to get your feedback particularly as I know you have a a hybrometer yeah no it was great
mate loved it what a car excellent exit yeah and quite um yeah very different drive to uh your
career or two very different just yeah yeah big difference I can see you know what your thought
process coming away from the 40th and going to the GT3 you know a lot of people would say what
another 996 what have you done that for surely you're repeating the same mistake almost you know
because you you didn't really gain much from the 40th but the GT3 is another a different kettle of
fish excellent excellent so yeah Andy Brooks certified yeah it's great mate love it lovely
lovely stuff lovely stuff good purchase excellent thank you mate thank you yeah anything else new in
your world nothing nothing new in my world other than yeah a good drive out in those two cars
excellent well that's funny you say that Andy because that GT3 Touring is the main subject of
today's episode we wanted to dive into that in a little bit more detail and particularly I guess as
other outlets have already covered the uh what we would call like the usual first drive
questions and and areas of interest we thought well let's ask members of the driven or hidden
collectives we went on the works chat for works drivers and said look what do you want to know
about the 992.2 Touring we got some questions back we consider them and we're ready to give
our answers before we do that though the week before last because I've been here there and
everywhere the last few weeks in all things Porsche really but which has been lovely it's been great
to visit so many different showrooms around the country and just get a bit of a handle on
what's going on out there really and the theme I'd noticed and again with
specialists on the known works marketplace where they're all the best of the best I'd noticed and
particularly a lot of them as well by the way as is well known by now they purchase their own stock
rather than the sale or return model that others predominantly outside the known works marketplace
kind of do and I'd notice yet just much less stock adorning the showrooms of these people
which kind of got me thinking well why is that really I don't know if you guys have got any
kind of opinion or conjecture on on why that may be it kind of seems like perhaps people are sitting
on their hands a little bit at the moment I reckon definitely I think yeah it must be very
difficult to try and buy cars at the moment I think people are sticking yeah because that's
the thing right it's all very well selling their cars but these people have to then replace them
and with good quality stock and what I found was really interesting at Paragon the other day I'd
spent last Friday there and on that day alone there were three cars that came along from owners
looking to get out of them basically and for Paragon to inspect the cars and then buy them out
right and you know off the three they rejected two of them one of which was a 992 which astounded
me because you think well it's still a new car really it was a dot one but it's it's it still
feels like a new car certainly still had kind of yeah yeah still had Porsche warranty but Paragon
rejected the car because it wasn't up to their standards and that kind of really that really
resonated with me because even where good stock is seemingly hard to come by for the specialists
that have again you know really high bar in terms of the quality of stock that they're still sticking
to those principles and absolutely not letting up on that whatsoever in order to just fill the
showroom which is kind of you know anyone could just fill a showroom of stock but to have it of a
certain level I think is is quite gutsy particularly at the moment so with that in mind I said to
Jamie and Jason look can we sit down for a chat and just discuss from your side as a dealer how
all of this works and they very kindly said yes so we chucked a mic at them and basically
over the next 10 minutes or so here's what they had to say yeah tipping up to the Paragon showroom
today it's quieter in terms of stock than than I've seen it for a little while and and you know
other reputable outlets in the in the marketplace is kind of the similar thing so I thought that's
a really nice thing to explore really because especially where people like yourselves are
you by your own stock yeah it's easy to fill a showroom with a load of rubbish but the art is
in choosing the right cars so yeah I guess start by saying you know how have you found the last
few months in in exercising that restraint well it's mostly your it's mostly your wheelhouse
isn't it it's been hard I mean there's definitely a shortage of really really good quality what I'd
offered a lot of stuff but a lot of the stuff we're getting offered just quite isn't good enough
and we'd rather have a fairly empty showroom of really really good high-end good quality stuff than
start filling the gaps with stuff that we don't normally do we'd rather wait for the right stuff
to come along but unfortunately at the moment there seems to be a bit of a shortage of that
right stuff and I'd love to know the reason why I mean people are definitely holding onto their cars
just that bit longer I mean earlier on in the year when we had the same situation we went back to
pinging out loads of emails to customers from between sort like three to five years ago just to
sort like test the water of if there was people out there that were potentially looking to change
or to sell and probably the most common message I got back was that we sold them such a great car in
the first run why did they need to change it so it's a bit of a victim of our own success really I
but yeah nice but it's been super hard the last few months really really has
and yeah I don't don't want to embarrass you at all but just kind of doing a bit of ear wicking
if you like so I've been sitting here working away and there's a Porsche turned up earlier on
with a gentleman and you had to look around here and you had to reject the car yeah I mean that
it's a nice car but it's not a paragon car no I mean that that was a good example I mean I've
been trying to buy that car for probably the last six weeks haven't I oh no not with the guy going
traveling and stuff and working stuff and he was a little bit of a distance away as well but
I mean on paper everything about that car was spectacular as gen 2 991 GTS traditional guards
red and nice miles as well but trouble is for us we would have painted pretty much three quarters
of the car refurbished the wheels it needed a set of tyres needed a service needed some brakes and
for what we would have had to give the guy I mean we would have lost the big chunk of money we just
wouldn't physically be able to have made it work and but you know that that also you know
in that guy's eyes that car was showroom ready and you know ready for us to put just a valet
in straight in the showroom and it was far from that so I don't know it wasn't bad stuff you know
it's not been crashed or anything but it's just usage wear and tear and all stuff that we've got
to rectify to get it up to our level because your first comment when it pulled up you were
like wow that looks nice yeah yeah yeah I mean we're almost bereft and we've got four cars in
this showroom at the moment I think which were actually for sale but so therefore we do need
we do need to to you know buy and stuff so so you know the the pressure would be to just take
something you know just just just buy it and then we'll get into it and stuff and it's quite a hard
decision you know on a relatively young you know car compared to you know the nine six fours and
stuff that we do and that sort of stuff to be able to turn that away it's quite you know it's
it's quite quite a quite a bugger yeah because we need it yeah but you know ultimately it is you
know it's it's it's these are the the parameters these are the rules these we can't deviate from
if there are listeners or indeed watchers here who are thinking okay well now I might I could sell
my car my my Porsche I'll give the guys a call you know to save anybody wasting their time you
know what is it that you look for someone that buys your own stock well a lot of stuff I mean
probably the most important thing condition comes into it a lot service history is vital as well
and again only cars that have been cherished not accident damage anything like that at all
because obviously at the end of the day everything we're putting our own money into we've got to
send out in that right way of being presented the same as everything else we sell so okay okay and
does that approach deviate in any way between for example a modern car 9-1-2 or 7-1-8 and an
air-cooled car no it has to be constant and that is that's why at this point in time we're very
lucky you know we have one air-cooled car here but you know so many of those cars now have been
through a period where you know they've been in somebody's garage or whatever for several years
and well I haven't used it or whatever so therefore it didn't get serviced and all that
sort of stuff and you know okay but we can tell that you are a good and honest and proper human
being but once we've bought that car we can't there is nothing definitive to verify the bit that
you and I know is true to somebody else that's not where we want to put pressure on our own
reputation you know by you know changing the rules or whatever so loads of air-cooled cars
you know there's been going to be big gaps and yeah and that sort of stuff and I think as time goes
past a lot of people forget what the time scale was in between that last service they say I think
it was a couple of years that it was last service and then you look in the book and it was actually
six years ago and there's normally I'm sure I had an oil change in between I don't think you did
are there certain cars that you find they're just they're easier in terms of matching your
expectations and maybe I reference that say like GT3 versus Macan for example or is it
long it's difficult because they're the trouble is a lot of them are cans are used
for school runs and pretty much daily and a lot of them they don't get treated that well do they
so yes in that in that circumstance it's probably down to condition there's probably more of the
everyday user cars that we would rule out as compared to GT cars but I mean we're you know
we're ruling out so many of the earlier GT cars now because they're old and there's just too much
that needs to be done so there'll be another reason why there's quite a very high proportion
of those as well so Jamie a couple of weeks ago and we were talking about nine on six GT3s and you
said there's very few out there there's even even less that are in a good condition underneath
yeah yeah that black car we looked at a couple of weekends ago that you know there was no disrespect
to the guy that owned it he lived by the sea basically and outside of the car I mean it was
rusty in places I've never seen a GT3 go rusty but the underside of the car I mean my god I mean
it was horrendous I know obviously they're not treated that well underneath but where you got the
seams that run along the side the seals I mean it was all literally opening up where it was so
corroded but the other side of it is you know and again we've said before but when you walk in
to this place you know it's a lovely car almost by virtue of the fact that you're very picky about
what you take in it's great for the buying experience oh yeah yeah yeah I mean those
standards do mean something we're you know in our marketplace we are competing sometimes with
people that are obviously not doing things in the same way then they don't buy and they own
the cars which they sell and say they've you know the sale or return type things and you know
trying to get people to understand the differences in what they're likely to end up with
is is a lot of our job that red car that we just looked at so a good example of a car that
I think will end up at another dealer that will probably do the tires but they wouldn't do any
paintwork to it that's where like you can almost split a market to be well there is therefore a
clear definition between a good car and a great car I mean I think you know the people that do come
to us that sell that have got the right cars I mean the whole process of how we do it is also
very very simple and straightforward I mean yeah I mean actually that's a good point yeah it's nice
I mean you know he's had emails from people that have sold their cars to him saying thanks for
thanks for being completely straightforward about it and this is the thing I mean whether it's
buying or selling or whatever you know at least we will tell people as it is how we get to the
numbers that we get to yeah it's all about transparency and there there will be those
times where someone's bought something down that we don't know that you know will be a good car but
there'd be an element of preparation that they hadn't told us about we've got that awkward conversation
about that we spend a bit more on it but we come out and show people and we say look we will be
painting that front bumper or we'll be refurbishing those wheels and we've had a few people actually
that have been local people that have sold cars to us and we've done all that preparation and we've
invited them back to see what it looks like when it's the final thing in the showroom sort of thing
so so yeah it's all about transparency and just and just making it easy for people really yeah
it's a structural process yeah you know you know we look at the cars or whatever if it's as it's been
described our you know conversations happened and they realized that this okay we've got to make a
bit of an adjustment yeah trade costs not retail um this is where we got to if everybody's happy
if everybody's happy then we buy and we buy it then we don't mess about we've got to buy we'll buy it
then and we will put the money into their account before they leave here I think also as well there's
a lot of other things involved which people get a little bit anxious about doing so retention of
cherished numbers you know we go through the whole thing of doing that and there's so many people
where I've said I'll do that for you and they said oh is there an administration fee for that
all right no no no that's part of what we do um settling people's finance and everything we do
so if we do that where we've got someone that's got some finance we're settling their finance there
and then while they're there send them the balance and then there we're confirmed to them that both
of those transactions have been done so someone leaves here knowing that everything's been done in
the correct way so yeah it's nice and easy for people okay well thank you gents because it's really
nice to get that sort of insight and uh and also hopefully we've done everybody a favor here
is if they are thinking of um moving their car on and jumping yeah by all means give us a call

well I hope you found that of interest we shared that by the way last week with
works drivers as a bit of bonus content for dnhc members but yeah just really interesting to get
a bit of intel inside intel really on what it's like working in the industry particularly at the
moment where just yeah finding good stock is extremely difficult to come by yeah it's good
to hear there what the difficulties are isn't it and trying to understand it hopefully uh that
going forward if you have a Porsche that you would like to sell and like to get out of again we
encourage you to go to anyone on the nine months marketplace and uh if so long as it's a good quality
car of course they'll uh they'll take the car from you you won't have to have Joe public
ringing you up and bidding you on it or asking if you want to swap for a clapped out 1996
Honda Integra uh or anything like that so yeah really simple like cash deal basically but hopefully
from that interview you would have learned what makes a good car or not in order to not waste your
time but also theirs as well so yeah like a cool beautiful should we talk touring then
let's do it what questions have we got from the from the dnhc yeah well off the top of the back
again and it's it's worth just touching on your kind of first impression i thought was really
interesting what you said at the top of the podcast that uh you basically in so many words said that
you preferred the Carrera T the 992.2 you enjoyed the drive more i did um why did i enjoy that car
so much i think it's because you have to work the um the yeah you work for it a bit more the
GT3 touring it's just too good for me it's too quick too good at stopping too good at going around corners
you know i just like to work a little bit harder to finesse the drive and almost drive around
something so um inadequacies in some way you know you feel that when you're driving that T
you could feel that you are you're pushing the throttle all the way to the floor and having to
use that throttle at the right place to get you along the road in the right sort of manner that
you wanted to wear it in the in the GT3 touring it i just didn't need to even consider that it was
i don't know i just got a bit bored of it is that sounds stupid i i don't think it does
mate and i think it's you know context is key here so we drove the car on the road uh very
lucky to have the car as a press car from Porsche GB for for four days and you took it for the morning
back up to uh to Newbury on on route to returning it to to Reading so it's it's you know it's on the
road in a similar environment of which you drove the Carrera T now the Carrera T is absolutely 100%
a road car yes you you can have the upgrade of sticking ceramics on but out of the box it comes
with the baby brakes that you would find on the entry level Carrera of the generations so this
the steel brakes which is the greatest marker i think as to um as to its intended use and its
intended playground whereas the touring is kind of uh it was assembled for the track and then a
sort of been eschewed for more of a road use for those that don't want the track but still want
the track car i mean that is yeah what it is really it still is a GT3 it just doesn't have the
wing on the back hmm so the the the better tool you would argue surely is the car that is crafted
exactly for road driving which objectively speaking is the T but of course yeah the the GT3 is
bolstered in every which way possible by the fact that on track it'll monster it
yeah yeah definitely um something that was quite interesting was the suspension on that car
that was very different to the early 992.1 that i was passenger in when they first came out
i remember like that was proper hard and kind of jolty and and it was a very different ride
in this latest version so yeah that's a big big positive i believe um but yeah it's funny isn't
it it just didn't do anything for me really i almost feel a bit um i don't know kind of embarrassed
that i can't feel the love for it because it's meant to be the pinnacle isn't it and it just
doesn't do it for me i don't i don't think you need to apologize at all andy i i'm sure there are
many people out there that will think the same as you who aren't fussed by track driving in the
slightest like to get their flat six thrills on the public road and your feedback there has
possibly helped them save the best part of a hundred grand because you can get all of that
with a new product and a comprehensive Porsche warranty by binocularity true yeah it's it i
don't mind taking 10 percent of that cut if anybody wants to give me some i'm absolutely very
very happy to take that yeah yeah absolutely absolutely what's your what was your thoughts
on it what's your sort of take home really interesting how that concept really has been
developed further i mean it's essentially the third iteration of the gt3 car touring vibe now
and um my overriding emotion when driving that car for four days was it's such a triumph that this
car is still being built i agree with that absolutely it's honestly such a huge achievement
and i'm certain that we as enthusiasts will look back in 10 15 20 years and and with hindsight
our jaws will be on the floor that that Porsche was still so fiercely stuck to making such highly
emotive naturally aspirated petrol engine sports cars and and that that yeah that really is the
the long and short of of that car legislation is getting even or ever more difficult and and
great example of that is in the exhaust and with ever stricter emissions so the the game has moved
on things have got even more difficult since the 992.1 came out and yet Porsche still is being
stubborn to say no not changing we'll find a work around no problem at all and in the greatest of
traditions in regards to its engineering has come up with a solution to stick to yeah that highly
emotive engine which now on the exhaust in order to satisfy these stricter emissions has not just
two gasoline particulate filters but also four catalytic converters as well yeah so in order
to still deliver us that car which revs to 9000 rpm which still has 500 horsepower and is mated to
if you choose a six-speed manual transmission is incredible it is it is that you know the specs
that you call out there um what did you think to the noise of the car I I didn't find it as
enthralling as I found previous GT3s that sort of top rpm not the not the howl that I've come to
wish for or remember yeah yeah so I would still put it in the the top pantheon of amazing sound
in Porsche sports cars for sure however yeah that was something I noticed that amazing really rich
sound that classic sound that we all know from that four-liter engine really pierces through the cabin
particularly in the mid-range between four and a half and six and a half that's just really probably
a sweet spot acoustic I would say on a press car that's done four thousand miles at this point so
definitely been running but I found that that last a thousand rpm that normally you're in a rush to
get to and you're just craving for because of that sound just wasn't quite there and it was sort of
down only by about say five percent in comparison to previous cars but it was enough to be perceptible
where it wasn't quite that halo shrill note yeah that you find yourself chasing for it just slightly
missing I think I've always sort of felt that you really knew when you were gonna you were
right up the top that you were about to hit the red line you didn't even need to look at the the
attack this car almost felt like you were really sort of hitting the red line before
before you knew it okay yeah yeah I understand that understand that before there was that real
noise that was like yeah yeah okay you want me to change it just seems yeah a bit softer
in this yeah I mean again acoustically for me I found myself when I was driving so on motorways
I was sticking to like third and fourth gear and just having the revs sitting in the middle of the
range because it just sounded glorious and I'd like to think I was providing music for everybody
else on the m25 on one particular drive for example I was certain everybody else thought I was doing
a service to society there whereas you know previously like with a 911.2 so the first
touring generation I felt like really that halo sound again that is just addictive and you need to
hear you only really started unlocking it in that last sort of 2000 rpm so again I'd be in second
gear previously and and sort of in that mid range there wasn't enough there was a very mechanical
sound but just in terms of that flat six singing there wasn't enough there for me with the 992.1
its successor I felt that again this is just purely acoustically gents that the mid range it
had just been improved so much and you almost got a double bite of the apple you had a really nice
glorious howl in the mid range now whereas before you didn't have it and then you'd get it again
with all the taps unlocked in that last thousand rpm with the 992.2 I feel like that top end is
just slightly missing now just again only five percent but definitely perceptible not quite there
which didn't entice you in that mad rush to the red line that you previously used to
but actually just sitting in the mid range and playing with a throttle in that kind of yeah
medium spread of revs that for me acoustically was where all the glory was all it was yeah
so it did make me drive the car in a different way particularly when you consider that maximum
power is achieved at eight and a half thousand rpms in terms like that power output it is quite linear
but just acoustically I didn't find myself rushing for that red line in the same way
which maybe my license would thank me for I don't know that's true it's true yeah yeah very very
interesting jp any any thoughts unfortunately I we couldn't take you out in it on monday because
time worked against us in the end but yeah as as an enthusiast you know how does that new car
land with you I still think the previous generation is probably the one for me to be honest with you
yeah I mean especially hearing your view and Andy's view I think we spoke about Andy just the sound
is probably the the big element of it is right is yeah I'm just gonna lose it because you hear
so many things where the noise is in the cabin and you're not outside you do want some somewhat to hear
you're going past the road sometimes as well and as it's a big it's a big factor isn't it and also
yeah how modern it is as well I think something you touched on as long as that squeaky bum time
is so capable so doable to the point where are you driving the car the car driving for you
interesting yeah yeah interesting stuff it's a good point you make actually because Andy there
was a point on the A34 where you overtook me at 70 mile an hour and I where I've had tourings
fly past me all summer on our nine works road trips I'm thinking of Andy's 992.1 touring I'm
thinking of surges 992.1 touring and even when you can't see those cars you can damn well hear them
Steven's 991 touring as well great example of that because when you flew past didn't really
hear a great deal and I said to you when we arrived at podium place did you have that in
sport mode or normal when you said no I was in sport most of that most of the journey yeah
proves it doesn't it so yeah definitely from the outside it was it was it was different but hey
you know again this is where I still think it's amazing I stand by what I said earlier on the
fact that Porsche is stubborn enough to go no still not changing we're sticking to this we're
sticking to this dish we're just going to change the recipe in order to keep delivering it so that
is the without a doubt the biggest achievement I think on the on the tour and the fact that it's
here in the first place yeah totally amazing right well we've got yeah a couple of yeah probably
left field questions and it's probably from members of the DNHC who have watched other reviews
and still have these questions in their head so hopefully whilst they might be a little bit left
field they haven't been asked or indeed answered previously so hopefully there's value to the
wider non-max radio audience here uh yeah do you gents want to kick off asking one of the first
questions Craig um do you have new do the new buckets squeak a few reviews early on mentioned
it and blamed it blamed it on them being early factory test cars um
I did hear a couple of little squeaks did you at all no no I didn't at all I have to say it must be
my portly weight then that to induce such squeaks or possibly your bottom yeah I did notice a couple
of times a little not I don't know if it's a I guess it is a squeak but there was some a little
bit of noise from them when I was in the one that I was sat in yeah okay interesting interesting
yeah I didn't have that sometimes that does happen with like as has been pointed out with like early
review cars they have early production or sometimes pre-production cars and uh yeah there's sometimes
like an odd deviance with spec for example I mean I remember having a 992 Targa that on the kick
plate on the driver's side said Targa 4s and on the passenger side said Carrera 4s and obviously it
doesn't affect the performance of the car in any way it's just that you know so you have to kind
of forego a couple of those sometimes for the privilege of being in the car early really but
no that was that by now this is a proper production vehicle with that press car
finished in oak green metallic or oak green neo fantastic color and as always happens with
these press cars when they get to a certain mileage they go into the Porsche network I think
basically Porsche dealerships bid for them internally and then they'll go through the Porsche
network backed by a comprehensive warranty and the other thing I'd say as well is you know with a
press car is they are so well looked after and so highly serviced so I certainly wouldn't worry
about buying a press car and sometimes actually it's really nice to see that in the history
because it could be quite a famous car yeah as infamous bums being in the driver's seat yeah
exactly that so yeah some for some people it's quite a nice um it's quite a nice part of the car's
story really so yeah I had no problems with the seats acoustically at all I guess as we know that's
the big story isn't it with the new GT3 is the fact it has rear seats for the first time in a GT3
there are no cost option I actually used them by complete chance yeah not not kind of didn't
didn't mean to but I'd pop back to Essex for the weekend and uh yeah went around my brothers
where my mum and dad were there and they basically saw the car outside and proceeded to share a bottle
of plonk and um yeah yeah yeah and it wasn't until my brother Joe said you do know there's no rear
seats in that car and it's a taxi for you and I was able to interject and bore my family immensely
with the fact that what was sitting on Joe's drive was the first ever GT3 with rear seats
I definitely lost the room at that point but yeah mum and pops were quite happy for the
the lift home so yeah they were actually used they they definitely were used for me really you know
GT car is the seat the rear seats is by the by but in putting it on Instagram and asking how
many people would actually use this overwhelming response was yes they would yeah so it's nice
that they're in there I I guess but my my that obviously with the front seats that the news was
the fact that there was folding buckets for the first time in the touring which just allows you to
stick passengers into the back but also stick other things always always handy it's a complete
redesign so the last folding bucket we had was uh like from the 997 and 991 generation
so if the the fixed bucket was the 918 seats and then yeah it was the carbon backed folding bucket
which I had great use of in mats 991 RS driving around Europe loved that car to be honest with you
I know Porsche wants to change things ergonomically but I don't understand why they didn't just use
that seat it's a brilliant seat it's been proven in Porsche sports cars and 911s no less
should have just used that for I had I had a real issue with this folding bucket seat
and I cover it in a bit more detail in an upcoming video but I'm adamant the folding bucket in the
new touring has been made specifically with taller gentlemen in mind think of the certain height of
say a Mr. Andreas Preuninger for example or a Walter Roll I don't know if you found this Andy but I
found that where the new seat betters the old folding bucket is you definitely sit a lot lower
of that there is no question and that's good yeah however it your bum is so down and back as it the
waiter picture it is you know when you're doing a squat and your your your PT will be telling you
you're doing the squat you really stick your bum out that's when you'll feel it stick your bum out
as you're going down on your knees right well that's almost what it's like in the seat so your bum is
so far down and push backwards and for me I just didn't have enough leg from that point to then come
up and over the seat which have got these weird like uh lips at the front really for you the
back of your knees to rest on to then go all the way to the clutch and it's the first 911
I've ever encountered certainly first modern 911 I've ever encountered that it for the entirety
of the loan I couldn't get comfortable I'm medium height medium build actually the seats
off a really good hold really good pinch at the sides lots of room on your shoulders you weren't
trapped in so that's really good really positive but I had to uh on the rails had to move the seat
so far forward in order to have enough swing on that manual clutch pedal to the bulkhead and even
then when I was doing so I was almost on tiptoes with the left foot and my right foot meanwhile
was way back because I only needed a slight depression of the accelerator okay I didn't
really kind of notice that but yeah interesting I was almost sitting offset Andy you know and and
yeah it's the first time I've ever struggled to find a decent sitting position in a in a
modern Porsche so whilst I like the concept of the folding bucket and definitely think it's a
worthwhile addition to the touring genre I don't think that seat ergonomically is a triumph
okay I don't remember sort of any issues with pedal reach I don't know if I've got a slightly
longer legs than you have maybe um the only thing that I felt was that I didn't my lower back support
um I wanted to be able to adjust the the backrest a little bit I felt I was a bit too
far forward and then my middle back wasn't very well supported okay and that was my my thought
on the seat I guess but many different body shapes you really need to check don't you
make sure it's the right thing for you definitely and this is it it must be no one impossible to
yeah satisfy ergonomically the needs of tens of thousands of people different shapes and sizes
right the way around the earth I completely get that some with ailments others with not and and
all the rest of it and then that's why I came away and I just felt look you know I'm not saying
it's a bad seat I'm just saying I think that seat is best suited to tall people or people with long
legs so exactly as you said Andy that's great consumer advice is to get yourself in one and
test it before you spec it on your car because as we've said previously on the podcast seat choice
is so important it's where you spend a hundred percent of your time when you're in that car as a
driver and it can often be overlooked yes it's a big choice to make isn't it yeah yeah definitely
definitely so uh yeah that kind of covers the seats craig so thank you for that
jeven is there a question that you'd like to tackle yeah there's one from maz is there anything
noticeable difference in the weight of 992.1 also is there any changes to gen 2 to justify the
increase of 30 to 35k interesting well andy what do you think on the price increases is it justified
it's a monster isn't it it's a big old lump of cash isn't it is it 30 to 35 grand yeah
yeah uh no I don't think there is I think if you've got a dot one I don't think you'd be
needing to run out and go and swap up to get a dot two unless you desperately wanted back seats
and folding buckets otherwise no I can't see the the need to go running out
would you reckon not a great deal to add to that andy so I think that's spot on I think if you
want to do it then the maths or the way to look at it is you go well because the car's really
there's a lot of overlap between 992.2 and low mileage high spec 992.1 tourings there's um
yeah the percentage is like an extra 15% really so that's where it looks doable but
monetarily the 30 to 35k yeah I agree I wouldn't be rushing out to swap my gen one for it for a gen
two just for the seats I'd rather forego the seat option and have the better sound to be honest with
you yeah get it converted right yeah yeah yeah yeah some people do do an ORPM technique I think
have done a couple of receipt conversions there's a great point JP great point great point yeah there's
second part to Maz's question there is there a noticeable difference in weight to the 992.1
now this this varies and I think it might have something to do with how the weight is calculated
but so far as I can tell from my research there is I think it's a 50 kilo difference now again I
might be wrong here but so far as I can see from what I've seen via the Porsche press website the
992.2 is 1461 kilos for the manual the 992.1 is 1418 kilos for the manual slightly heavier for
pdk at 1435 kilos now that is din so far as I can see but I might be wrong there is definitely a
weight difference between the two whether it's as much of that is I think open to some sort of
conjecture not sure what you think Andy I basically think with the 992.2 it almost disguises
it disguises any weight penalty extremely well it's almost like any feeling of heft is engineered
out of that car yeah it was yeah I didn't I didn't I yeah I don't think you can tell
the difference it's a modern car isn't it like like somehow wave ones over these cars to make
them feel light yeah yeah yeah definitely you know particularly characterise at the like in gear
acceleration and the way that power comes in on this point two generations we're no longer talking
acoustically here I think is an improvement on the 992.1 in my notes here I said it's like a really
like buttery in gear acceleration especially with that mid-range that is improved over the dot one
and in a way kind of reminds me of st in the way that power comes in and the the pickup
also in the way the car pivots and feels through the wheel just yeah the the feeling of weight
full stop really is pretty well engineered out so you're certainly not driving the dot two and
thinking what this is this is put on some chunk over the dot one it's just it's really it really
dives into corners doesn't it yeah there's no feeling of weight when you're going into a corner
not at all yeah it just wants to go where you put it yeah yeah it doesn't doesn't in any way feel
like a car approaching 1500 kilos as the scales would say definitely not and again I think that's
down to the the brilliance of visac engineering there yeah so yeah great stuff thanks that question
mas we've got another one here rob asks how is the general road noise I believe it has less
sound deadening to battle the four catalytic converters my tinnitus was having a good old
sing to me on the on that morning must say yeah yeah it was uh yes I'd say it was fairly noisy in there
did you feel it was no more than usual to be honest with you like yeah there wasn't a 911 will always
have or the an Achilles heel of a 911 is rolling tire noise yeah you have really large rear tires
over which the engine is placed and with the gt product where there is sound insulation taken out
that can have an impact what I will say with 992 generation a big improvement has been the
uh what you call it double glazing double double glazed glass all round really helps dial out a lot
of noise and when you jump in a 991 and compare it there's a noticeable difference in a positive way
actually a lot of that road noise is is dialed out okay did that car have the double glazing
look always that lightweight glass in that car it did have lightweight glass but that is that
double glazed what's the yeah it is yeah yeah yeah so even the light it's not like it's lightweight
it's just a single like the element window and the the actual lightweight stuff's double glazed as
well as the the normal it's interesting to know Andy that that particular car we had
which has a standard feature on the GT3 towing was lightweight and noise insulated glass
okay so highlighted by the fact that it is still double glazed which I was yeah very sad and checked
but it does it does it does do a job but again it's an important consideration I mean even for
example in comparison to like you know your gts with the miles you've done on that car you don't
want to be listening to rolling tire noise all the way to the bottom of italy you know yeah and
and a touring really is designed for the same sort of sp really so robin in a in a short answer to
that question really no absolutely fine lightweight glass but still absolutely does the job next
question if anybody wants to go uh sakeebe nice short sweet one here how does it differ to an st
I can't answer this one I'm afraid but I'm sure Mr Sibley can I'll I'll definitely give a little
bit of spiel on that so does it differ to an st yes and this goes back to the similar question
that was posed just shy of 10 years ago when everybody was saying that the new GT3 touring as
it was at the time was a baby r and it was a big it was a 911 r without the price tag which just
wasn't true because all of these minuscule detail changes on a molecular level they do add up to
a completely different thing and in the same way there is clear daylight pound for pound an inch
for an inch when it's comparing a GT3 touring none on one to an r the same thing is present here
when comparing even the dot two to the st the st of course being based on the dot one platform
anyway um there are st like improvements on the touring for example the way it goes down the road
its suspension and I will come on to that it is different to the dot one touring and it is a bit
more st like in the way it's polished um and again with that in gear acceleration and the
pickup of the engine particularly in that mid-range a beautiful buttery experience there is st like
that isn't full st and I think again another great example of this can be found in the gear
shift so where the press car that we uh got to experience had the lightweight package which is
a 30 ground option by the way and includes magnesium wheels yeah um part of that package
is a shorter stubbier gear shift taken from the st now you might have the st shifter in there but
the way the new manual touring shifts is different from the st the st is a lot more smooth and slick
the uh dot two touring has a bit more of a heft to the shift and also the the road through the
gate is more notchy so it does remind me really of kind of traditional gt3 in that regard so again
just these minuscule five percent differences they do add up ultimately to a different car so
a dot two touring isn't a cheap st okay is the is the gt3 touring got the lightweight flywheel
oh great question let me just check that let me just check that because that was the
um clutch action was not uh not the easiest to start with took me a little while to
I was bunny hopping down the road at one point which I find myself normally pretty good at um
getting around different difficult clutches but yeah that caught me out straight off
yeah so to clarify for everybody listening at home the st comes with single mass flywheel
lightweight flywheel as standard the dot two touring doesn't unless you spec the lightweight package
that was on this car okay so it did have the lightweight flywheel so that gives me a bit of a
get out of jail for my bad driving you were bouncing down the road were you it was a little bit
bunny hopping down the road when we first went out of your driveway
embarrassing it uh I mean I I found it okay but then again I daily drive don't I with a
single mass flywheel in the iris so probably used to it I found me in the clutch pedal was really
light again I'd want a little bit more feeling in there but um I understand that everybody not
everybody thinks that way and indeed previous criticisms of these cars that have been that the
clutch is too heavy which I just find ridiculous a bit like with the previous generation touring
the early cars where people said it was too firm I don't necessarily agree with that I think it's a
gt product ultimately but um again I appreciate different horses for different courses yeah so
no I didn't didn't didn't find that overly of concern but again there was definitely a lot
of daylight between the the touring and st no no question yeah okay um there's another question
from mark it talks about the new seats but which we've already discussed but more about the new
digital dash okay um it's funny I didn't find it in the t that we drove I quite like the digital
dash in that even though there was some aspects of the gt3 that it didn't have it's quite nice
with the having that assist button wasn't it in the gt3 yeah you could turn off all the nannies
very easily that was that was very good um it does lose a bit doesn't it it loses that analog
tack which is always a bit of a jewel in the middle um I did play around with the dash layout
and I couldn't really find what I wanted it kept reverting to like a single tack and then lots of
either like three dials or sort of lots of lists of stuff down each side I couldn't really find
anything that really appealed to me did you find it distracting I don't think I tell you what the
the big yellow bits that came up on the right hand side of the tack Lee
which I think was like traction so when you were losing traction I had quite a lot of yellow
going coming up on those cup twos now again and I was like what the hell what is this and it took
me a while to realize that it was pretty much yeah was I correcting that assumption I didn't I didn't
see a lot of that I have to say maybe no I didn't I didn't I didn't see a lot of it I do I do think
and it this what I love about this podcast and and dnhc is because it's the type of question we
love really looking at this on such a detail level and yeah I kind of I hear Mark's potential
reservations on it I guess in terms of yeah when he said you know give us feedback on that on the
new digital dash um he's obviously as you said he's asked on the seats as well which we've covered
now I as you point out I think it's a really good point to make with that um assistant shortcut key
so 992 owners gen one and gen two you'll know that you've got five keys in the center of the dash
one or two depending on the the specification otherwise of the car is individually programmable
now visac and from what we've seen on the um works chat this week apparently this has come
direct from mr proininger to have an assist key as one of those shortcut keys whereby you you tap
it and then you can turn off the four main driver assistance aids which off the top of my head is
lane change assist speed limit warning uh the coffee break thing which is just ridiculous the fact
that's even on there but again it's not a Porsche thing it's a legislative thing yeah I can't remember
what the other thing is but you can just click that key and then tap on the screen those four
or speed limits we've already covered that yeah what's the other one lane assist speed limits
coffee break oh shit no I don't know sorry yeah yeah um just watching the video about
our warning and brake assist I mean we we can't remember I don't know what that is we don't need
it yeah you know we've got oh is that that's when it slams the brakes on for no good reason yeah
yes yeah exactly that exactly that yeah exactly with with eyeballs and and and a foot most people do
but um yeah apparently that was something that ap mr proininger wanted which is a great shortcut
and should be on all of the cars to be honest it's so much easier than having to delve through
the various menus to try and find it and even when you know the sequence it still takes some time to
do so that's a really really positive thing and again typical of a visac car just where
the department there has thought about things a bit more and so we've read what mr proininger is
saying it should be there because this is a of a track car primarily so the ability to turn
all of those off quickly as a necessity I also think similarly to that the deletion which is what
it is because it used to be there of the analog taco is a real shame and I've not I've said this
before I've not missed the analog taco in the careras I've not minded one little bit the digital
display because a carer is an all-round sports car for the modern world in which we live so I've
almost foregone that yeah in a GT car I found I did miss it and and the the yeah the digital screen
just did not land well with me I want to see that tachometer in the middle I kind of felt like with
the digital display it was just easier to have it on the three dial layout it's almost like it
the menu wanted you to just have the three dial rather than its digital rendition of the iconic
five which is a bit of a shame if if there's one car that should hold on to that DNA I think it
should be the GT products in being the most visceral most traditional so I did miss that
Gents I have to say I did miss that yeah in that car which yeah I'm the same opinion in
other careras I've been quite happy with the digital dash it's been okay kind of got got
got used to it was fine yeah but yeah for some reason in that GT yeah it needs it doesn't it
does it definitely does elevate the experience yeah yeah and and and that whole kind of traditional
connection between car and driver that those GT cars as we discussed earlier in the pod really
they are the very last bastions of yeah okay I think we've got one more question have we
yeah one from Nick it's a difference in suspension 991 sorry 992.1 and 992.2
it's complicated all these numbers yeah yeah it's kind of the thing everybody wants to know
really is is how does it ride if you don't mind Andy I'll jump in on it
you care for it I think I sort of touched on it earlier so yeah yeah I think just following
on on previous comments I made it's it's definitely improved it's a bit more st like but
absolutely definitively not the same it's more polished and when you ride down our country roads
in the UK some of which are pretty terrible for condition if you compare it to the dot one the
dot one feels a little bit more alive it's a little bit more movement underneath you than there is
in this latest car now depending on your driving style and how you like your sports cars you'll
overview that as a good or a bad thing some people will feel it more confidence inspiring that the car
doesn't feel so twitchy but equally I quite like knowing what's going on beneath me and listening
or understanding the feel and the contact patch and the levels of grip available I think that's
how dynamically you can bond and explore the car in the best way whereas this definitely
is so good it could almost be detrimental to the engagement and most importantly connection
between car and driver and road
such a fine balance to get these things right isn't it it is because objectively the dot two
is improved in every way it's it you know and the way the st goes down the road is ludicrous it's
like it's on a magic carpet it just soaks everything up somehow without taking away that feel but like
yeah without the excitement feel yeah yeah in jumping in and for a non-maxed tv video that's
coming up we compared 992.1 against dot two touring so driving those cars back to back to
back on the same s6 country roads I found I had more enjoyment over the feel that the dot one was
giving me that's a late dot one isn't it that you drove it's a late dot one yes where there
allegedly was an improvement in the recalibration of damping yeah because I remember as I said earlier
passenger been passenger in a one very early 992.1 and thought my my insides were gonna
be knocked out my teeth were chattering it was proper harsh memory which I didn't enjoy but then
that dot two that we drove yesterday was almost too good you know so yeah is that the improved
dot one is that the ideal scenario in that you've still got a you've got a good feel but you've
you're it's you're not on the magic carpet I don't know I don't god it's such a difficult
difficult thing right it is it is and you know ultimately the poor buggers that design these things
yeah yeah yeah this is it you know and we're not buying the car ultimately so it's for listeners to
decide there you know kind of which you which you prefer objectively speaking yes it is improved
definitely yeah my feeling is almost speaking on behalf of the dnhc and the drivers that are in there
that a little bit more feel would be good but again I mean this goes right back I mean jeven
you know you mentioned with your car and having pdcc I remember when that car came out on the
911.1 turbo s it was standard spec I think and I thought that technology was unbelievable and it
just gives you the sensation of cornering in a car like you're on rails but I remember evo
magazine at the time saying no it's not very good because it takes away feel of the car
which I didn't agree with but again it's it really is horses for courses isn't it yeah yeah so yeah
is any other questions gents that you would like to ask would you buy one
would I buy one me personally I have not got two pennies to rub together after the recent
after the recent gt3 purchase yeah yeah well well let's ignore that that side of things the
money tree side of things would you um would you put a new set of tyres on one would I put a new
set of tyres on one oh that's a great question I would say no I would put it on a .1 definitely
would put it on a .1 I think the 992.1 is a prettier car as well particularly from the back
it hasn't got because on the .1 the exit vents on the in the corners of the rear bumper they're
actually blocked off they're superfluous but on the .2 they are used and if you peek through that
gap you can see the rear tyres so that's the other thing if you're following a .2 GT3 as I was on
Monday hang back big time big time because you will be in the firing line for all manner of
projectiles so yeah yeah and I understand they're there for a reason but just makes the car look
a bit more fussy really whereas I think the .1 it's like somebody has just dropped a silk cloth
over the mechanics of the car like the body it just almost looks like it hugs the floor really
it's so low and wide I think it's really like beautiful design whether it's the .2 I'm not
quite there with it yet objectively apples for apples so I would rather put it on a on a .1 for
the way it sounds the way it drives and the way it looks for me I don't want to ask you the same
question Andy I want to ask you of the three Tourings 9 and 1.2 9 and 2.1 and 9 and 2.2
can you rank them in order of best to worst or first to third in your opinions I know you've
driven them all

excellent well look I could I've got um a shitload of money over so I can I can actually get a
pts one can't I so yeah I'm going pts get something like Murano green okay fjord you know something
like that the the oak green neocar there was a Carrera T at Porsche Bournemouth that Simon dropped
on the works chat the other day and that looks sensational did look really good got a sunroof
in it though isn't it yeah not for you isn't it yeah yeah very good very good maybe I need to go
and have a look at that at JP question question for you and it's not specifically oriented towards
the latest touring so I know you're quite liking the idea of GT3 where do you think you'll land on
that in an in an ideal world which is the generation for you of the I think there's seven or eight of
them now to choose from yeah I so when I spoke to someone about the 991.2 they said oh I have to
think about a 997 I think I did toy around with the idea heard the feedback around it but I think
I also want something a bit more modern in that perspective yeah all they're looking at the 992.1
they've dropped down in terms of value what they were originally weren't they this is quite attainable
but at the same time I just don't want too much of that modern element of it and also the sound of
the 991.2 just sounds so good yeah in terms of where it sits and also you haven't got a lot of
distraction in the cabin I think that's quite important I think this day and age if you look
at so many cars you almost got such a large screen everywhere haven't you like things buzzing at you
lights everywhere it's almost like you just want to sit in the car and drive the car yeah yeah yeah
so down so we can expect you to be rocking up to the next episode in an unknown 1.2 GT3 then
you know it right you know it you know it yeah manual PDK
I don't know I think I'm still toying around between which one I think I want a manual
but I want to be faster for the PDK yeah it's so well rounded especially for that engine it's so
good really does really does suit the engine actually with that top two touring I found with
the manual you almost needed sport mode on to engage the automatic blip shifts because as much
as you as your driver yourself try to do it just the automatic the computer basically doing it for
you is the answer and again on upshifts as well flat shifting is the only way to upshift quickly
with the manual gearbox in that car if not there's like a real awkward stutter between the two
so it's a bit more computer doing it for you really we're quite old school here at Nummerx radio
I'm realising yeah yeah cool well look that's yeah that's answered hopefully some outstanding
questions that were left from members of the driven or hidden collective hopefully there's
some use in there somewhere anyway so yeah heaven forbid we might even threaten some journalism

all the way over in New Zealand that's definitely not anywhere near leads that one by the way
definitely not no I think we can dismiss that he's currently on the lookout for his first
911 which is said is very difficult out there in New Zealand trying to find a car but he's on
on the lookout looking for a good condition one can be difficult he said but hopefully he does that
soon he grew up in a car mad family in the late 70s and 80s his cousin used to buy second hand
911s in Europe and bring them over here to drive for a while and would then sell them so he spent
a lot of time in the back of uh 911s at an early age and looking to to actually be in the front
driver's seat of one uh so welcome good to have you aboard mega yeah absolutely mega all the way
for New Zealand though that is incredible to have such support from quite literally the other side
of our lovely planet I think yeah yeah absolutely Howard Taylor joins us from East Barnett in
great luck greater London as driving a 992.1 GT3 with touring package from what we've been saying

collection at Harbour Cars in that car and it was it was lovely to see it again Simon in the true
spirit of the driven or hidden collective has stuck some miles on it because it was on baby
miles when it was at Paragon a couple of years back and it was really lovely to have a chat
Simon as well and and meet your son on the day as well so thanks so much for popping along
Gem of the Week yeah yeah so yeah Gem of the Week has been taken care of by Jeevan this week
why does it feel like we're going for shopping for Jeevan at the moment yeah yeah yeah spending your
cash mate I said I would just trying to encourage you I don't think I need extra
contrary mate I saw the one popped up on RPM the 991.2 GT3 club sport the black one
there we go again black car but wow it looks good doesn't it it looks so good yeah it's got
it's got the 908 bucket seat it's got everything on there yeah mate it's yeah peas knees
I'm just gonna I'm just gonna grab that and have a little look at it yeah what also doesn't help
is you sending over your yeah your finance contact to uh to have a conversation as well yeah yeah
yeah yeah the great the great enabler the great enabler so yeah that is a 2018 model car 27 and
a half thousand miles on the clock obviously comes with six months warranty and the spec on it is lovely
um standout options included yeah club sport as you said ceramics front axle lift as well
and this has full Porsche service history and is under extended Porsche warranty until April next
year very very very nice also most of these I think was it pre-september the opf was 2018
yeah they didn't have opf did they yeah depending on yeah the month I can't quite remember on this one
but yeah again 918 buckets with bows so yeah there's like there's a nice mix in there because again
it's track oriented however like with the club sport and ceramics but then also
eminently usable on the road with front axle lift pdls plus headlights as well which are amazing
rear view camera as well and bows so it's a it's a pretty good all-round package that I have to say
as far as GT3s go a nice bit of color and flair on the inside as well with the yellow seatbelts
and contrast stitching yeah it looks quite nice that does it's a worthy gem of the week that
jeven and it can be yours if you're listening at home or indeed if you are jeven for a five pound
under 120k back in back now would you change the wheels would you go silver I probably would
change it I probably would change it to be honest with you yeah silver would look good or lucky for
a bit and I'll change it I think once you've kept yeah because I mine current one was black
yeah I've changed it to almost it looks almost like a bronze in your dime doesn't it so probably
either that or silver yeah it's a it's a good idea you could almost therefore if you did that you
could get away with most of your friends I'm sure thinking that you haven't changed car
tash would suss you out of course but just gonna say I think you're working out very quickly
yeah no that's quality that is quality awesome all right shall we do a spread the love staying
with rpm technique gents just got a bit of news which is hot off the press from rpm technique hq so
they're well known for the development of their cramwheel and pinions for 981 and 718 platform
cars they're back in stock basically so the upgrade replaces the factory final drive ratio
it yields a 14 percent shorter final drive basically enhancing your acceleration in real
world conditions without taking the gearbox to bits basically and modifying your individual gear
sets their manufacturer to oem plus strength by design one of rpm techniques design partners
and yeah a wide range of vehicle compatibility which extends beyond the gt car so if you own a
981 this will work on your 2.7 or your 3.4 s or your 3.4 gts as well as the gt4 and spider
and for the 718 came an unboxed a platform this will work on the 4 liter gts as well as the
spider and tin top gt4 pricing for the 981 platform is 5809 quid plus vat and for the 718 platform
is 6400 and 5 quid plus vat plus vat both are fitted as well very good okay well that was
