"And he has look, he's like, Oh yeah, no, I could see why it didn't turn. Like like these cars were these these old WRX's were just beaten. Yeah, they wouldn't have an easy life, I'm guessing."
"Matthew. Yes, Matthew. The spirit of Van Diemen Land. Oh, anyone else want to have ..."

There's a professional radio. That's front wheel drive so.
Have you got anyone you want to thank?
Just myself. And now I do the after hours,
gentlemen. What would you go for?
They see us in there. OK, and because it's not a super
duck, it's not automatic. Perfection comes in the form of
two letters A&U. Long live my Ltd.
Welcome to Car Talk. It's Tuesday night here at 98.9
Northwest FM. It's me, Maddie J, joining
studio with Chad and Alan online with Mr Scotty O Johnson, Mr.
David Prince and Mr Edward Bunting.
How are you, gentlemen? Good evening.
All good and well, thank you my friends.
Well, thank you very much. Good to see.
Well, it's a bit of a tight fit here today in the studio, so.
Squeezy. Not, not so squeezy, gentlemen.
Good to see all your lovely faces.
Let's let's go around. Before we get around, happy
birthday to Mr Maddie J Yeah, yeah.
Happy birthday. Thank you, fellas.
Dean. 18, yeah, 18. I'm living my 18th birthday for
the last, you know, 15 years now, Turbo.
Car if he's getting there, No, I'll show you.
That. Very naughty I think.
You're driving a V. A Do you have Ava today?
Suspend your licence there. Yeah, you might have to.
We might have to, Yes. Thank you, gentlemen, for the
birthday wishes. It it is my birthday today.
This time last. Yeah, we were at Legoland in
Japan, watching, looking at some funny.
What were they? Discoveries broken down, you
could say. How accurate?
Well, that was, I don't know if we've talked about that on the show before. That was the funniest thing at
Legoland was, you know, they've recreated all these parts of the world and they so it's sort of like, yeah, I think they had, you know, I can't remember the exact cities or but it was landmarks from around the world. They've done in Lego.
And one of the more nondescript landmarks had this multi Storey car park and there was a Bank of Lego cars all banked up, you know, and a broken down car right at the front.
And so as we came around the corner and worked our way through the cars, waiting impatiently for this this broken down car, they were all Japanese Toyotas and Mazdas waiting.
And it was a Land Rover Discovery in Lego broken down, wanted up. And I just thought that that has
got to be the Japanese taking the piss here.
That's very funny. That was one of the funniest
moments I reckon I've ever seen. It was, it was so good.
It's just like. It's like because you sort of
think that other markets might not take the piss like we do in Australia. But no, no, it's, it's a
worldwide thing, obviously. No, they do.
They do. Yeah, no, that was brilliant.
It was one of the funniest things, I reckon.
I I saw there and we made a video.
We might have to put it up on the social at some point.
And you were like, how accurate? It's that like there here at
Legoland, you know, in Japan and even even the Japanese know that even even they know they're hideously unreliable.
But but thank you guys for the for the birthday wishes much appreciated. But let's get into some about
you guys. How are we going?
Scotty was on 1st. Scotty, how are you?
How are you mate? Let's get into you and your car
updates. Yeah, I was on 1st.
I win. Yeah, I'm doing doing quite well
getting prepared ready for Japan.
You're off in a couple days. Yeah, so excited about that, but
still got a couple days of work to go, so.
But you've checked out, haven't you?
Look, between you and me, yes, Don't tell anybody else.
Especially not the kids. Not the kids.
It's just keep that a secret. Thanks.
Car updates. I do have car update.
I was busy on the Sunday because Saturday wasn't the best weather and I was doing a bit of work instead on Saturday to earn some extra pocket money. But Sunday I thought, you know,
the weather's alright. I'll go down and start pulling
some other bolts out of the car and see where I get to.
So thank goodness for the video on YouTube from a gentleman.
I've got to have a look. I've got to name him.
I've got to find it and I'll, I'll name him a big thank you for his video that he's uploaded because it's helped massively just to find some of these bolts on where they are, especially on the bell housing. So yeah, I removed the cover and
everything off and got the front flywheel.
Flywheel bolts. Yeah, on one side, taken off,
got those off. Then on the other side is the
bell housing bolts and the bottom ones are.
OK. I could do that, but then the
top two were really hard so I had to take the starter motor off too because that was all connected.
That was just two bolts. That was OK.
I had a good extension and a little uni joint one that I could use and get on that one. So they they came up fine.
That was easy. I'm just moved it out of the
way. But then came the big job where
on one side you can clearly see where the bolt is if you're looking down from the top in the engine Bay, but you can't get anything on it. You can't get a spanner, you
can't get anything on it because of the angle it's on.
But thanks to this fellow on YouTube, all you need to do is make the biggest extension ever, like over a metre long like I had. I used my dad's half inch C
Chrome set and it's got one extension about, you know, say long, 50 centimetres long or so. Then it's got a shorter 1.
So I attach that. I attach those two and then
luckily there's a whole bunch of tools that that got from someone else. There's another two extensions
in there as well. So I kept those on.
So it was like it was over a metre long.
The thing was all awkward and pretty heavy, but I got it on there and the first one was was all right.
I got it on there and actually loosened really quickly and that one came off. And then the one on the other
side was a little bit trickier because I couldn't see it very well. And I'm trying to sit the torch
up on the transmission and transmission tunnel.
And constantly I get it up there and every time I get ready to loosen it and take that bolt off, I kept knocking the torch.
Torch would fall again. So there's quite a bit of
swearing during that one because I just could not get it was driving me nuts and I couldn't use the universal joint bit because it was too chunky and it wouldn't fit across the top there. But finally it finally went snap
and came undone and I got that off and that was it.
That was the only thing that was holding it.
Wow, so it just dropped? I had a Jack already kind of
leave it on there, so it was still sitting upright.
So it wasn't too bad. And then I was, I go, oh, do I
just leave it like this or do I just give it a whirl and just drop it? Like, who cares?
So I gave it a bit of a wiggle and then I just went, oh, I'll just drop the trolley Jack anyway.
And I just went, went all fell onto the ground and then transmission, transmission fluid poured out everywhere, but it was just on concrete and it's not my house, so that's OK.
Hang on, whose house is it? It's at my parents house, the
car, oh. You're not.
You're not doing that at your nice new concrete driveway, no.
Smart. He's got the concrete warranty.
Yeah, Yeah, that's some fun. Leave the concrete.
No warranty. That's some, yeah.
So I just chucked some cloth over the top and kind of mopped up some of it, but that's down. That's been dropped.
So I guess the next next step is to try and Jack the car up highest and then I can get the transmission out completely out from underneath there, take out fly bolts, the flywheel bolts.
So I've got to crack them off. And then behind that is the
spigot Bush. So I've got to get a new one of
those two. I've got the, I've got the
proper tool to remove that spigot Bush too.
So there'll be no stuffing around with that.
I bought that a while back. So take that out, put a new one,
and then you start putting it all back together again.
Oh man, it's so exciting. I can't.
I can't believe we've. Got annual?
But I think I really, really will need a little a little bit of help putting the transmission in.
I don't think I'm about to do that bit by myself.
Yeah, we can. Give you a thought.
And if someone's got an extra trolley Jack, that would be fabulous. I've got a few.
It's happening, Scott. Is it?
Is it before you go to Japan, Will you?
Go to Japan, Scott. It'll be after.
Doesn't give me much time. Yeah, no, it'll be, it'll be
after and then when anyone's, anyone's free on a weekend, just to give me a bit of a, a bit of a hand to get a trolley Jack at least on both sides of the I think and ease it in.
And I'll use all my extensions again to get those two to try and get those in. And just if we can get the car
higher, I think that'll make it a lot easier to then we can actually use that garage creeper that I've got and whizz around a bit the other crawling on the concrete that I've been doing.
And then the rest should be OK from there.
I think once that transmission's in, that's the biggest hurdle, then the rest is connecting everything else.
I haven't done a clutch or anything before so I'm not really sure how to put that all in one well.
We got one rubs a die who's probably can help you with that is these done a few of them so. Is it?
We're going to take you through the Indian safety One O 1 where you use bricks and then you put the Jack stand.
On. Them higher up, you know.
Yeah. Are we wearing thongs like I am?
Now you know. No.
Work safe. Yeah, yeah.
If we're safe worked up to India like, they'd be laughed out of the building man. Like be like what?
Like what is? What is this?
Well, it's good. Yeah, that's.
Exciting man, That's, that's, that's real big news.
So on the whole now until you get back and when you get back, we're going to start putting it together and, and and then get it back on the road. Yep.
So all I got to do is just order some bolts and spigot Bush.
I'm pretty sure that is all I need because I said I got the I got the clutch alignment tool because it's the same brand as the clutch. The clutch is Zuczidi.
So yeah, I got the exact same brand alignment tool.
So it should work, I presume yeah.
And I think that's all I need is what I'm hoping.
But. It's.
There's something else I need, I'm sure I can run down and get it. You've got the pedal box sorted
already, Or clutch pedal. Yeah, I've got clutch pedal and
everything. The only thing I'll need to do
for the brake pedal that everyone does is I've got the the rubber. So I'll sit the rubber there and
just cut the pedal out to match it and then put it on perfect because people said it's the most easiest way to do it to remove the auto brake pedal and put in a new one.
It's just it's. Not worth it.
Yeah. It's not worth it.
So they just like just do that. It's exact same thing.
It's in the same spot anyway, the only difference is that it's smaller. Yeah.
The other lines and everything for it, all the clutch clutch lines so. It's going to be a man well.
Yes. Will it be ready for classy
Japan? Yes.
Better be. That's not till December, so
yeah. Ages away, tick ticks.
The time. Pick up on you, Scott.
I mean, at least I don't have to worry about, at least I don't have to worry about trying to get registered or anything.
Yeah. That's not a hurdle anymore.
They won't be taking those pub plates away from you mate, no.
They're done, they're paid for. That's it.
I have to do whatever I want to it.
Yeah. Within reason.
Within reason. No, never.
Very good, very good to see. So good, good progress.
Ed Edward updates with you and how are you?
I'm well, yes, well, I have sold a few cars actually.
So the little Subaru Impreza hatch I had, the 2014 with only 40 KS on it has sold. Alamdeep Singh.
Alamdeep, he's a jazz man now, but same colour, Pearl white, you know, Pearl white. So let's go on to a new home
just down the road from me. I picked up Saturday the I load
van. I was getting around in that
sort of as as my daily for a a little while and I got, I was saying to David Prince the other night, I really quite like the I load van, very easy to drive and pretty good on diesel.
And yeah, I just sort of I just sort of quite at home.
I like sitting up high. You know, you sit, you sit up in
those vans. But there it's not like the
Tarago where you've got no front.
You've got a a little bit of bonnet there and, you know, really good visibility at the front and the side windows from that. And I was committing to work
thinking I'm, I'm, I'm really quite content in an unmarked white van. Call me, it was.
A free candy. Free candy side.
Yeah, it's, it's funny. I I picked up a.
Don't say children. It's.
Fun. I picked up a, let's just say a
person I've been on a couple of, you know, dates with on Sunday lunchtime in the iloid because it was the only thing I had sitting around. I thought, well, it was either
that or go and get the Moke. And I thought today's not warm,
I'll be in the iloid. So I'm waiting in this street
like, oh, there they are. And then I put down the window.
Oh my God, mate, you up there, you got the delivery there knows. I thought you just gotta lean
into this. You know it's.
Embrace it. It's a dodgy white man.
Anyway, I put that online Saturday night and by Sunday night that was gone. Oh, really?
Well, it's all delivered in the traffic.
Bye bye Charlie then. I had no car at my home Sunday
night. I thought I'm I'm Baron Sharon.
I'm I'm on transport until Monday morning when I went and picked up the Honda Odyssey for the mechanic.
So that's had a new engine mount, new windscreen, new thermostat, couple of ball joints, nothing crazy but roadworthy. All done and picked up that.
And so now I'm driving that full time until till such time as someone wants to relieve me of that.
But that's the Honda Car Club of Victoria decides to purchase it and livery it up with. I I don't know that the club
will purchase it, but someone in the club may purchase it.
So David had a driver that last night and we were we were singing its praises as to how comfy and non ratly and smooth and refined. And it's, it's just a very good
thing they were, they were very well thought out.
And as we all know, that era of Honda is, is just the golden era. You know, the quality was
amazing. They lasted a long, long, long
time. And the same night, last night,
I had a drive of David's Accord 94 with 473,000 kilometres on it. And very, very impressive car.
You know, you'd, if you didn't look at the Speedo, you'd think it had done 60 or 70 KS. You know, it's just not, not
worn, not horrible, not rattly, very impressive.
So I think it's got to be a because you know, David, David will do 500 kilometres in that car in the next 5 years.
So I said it's got to be a, it's going to be a joint effort, which well, you don't. Do big harsh.
Even in your work car you don't do big Case No.
True, true. I said it's going to have to be
because we want it to get to half a million.
It's going to be to an effort, so if anyone's going into state or doing a long haul or whatever, you know, maybe just take the high mile or accord because you know, between us all we could get it to 500 pretty quickly.
Hopefully I'm. Going to, I'm going to Adelaide,
you know, end of the year. So I can well go, go.
Yeah, I'll. I mean, it's just for me to give
away David's car for a trip. You know, I think it would
really good to just rack him up on that because see it.
But of course, David, you know, no one else can do the magic 500 that needs to be reserved to 100%.
You've got to be behind the wheel when it clicks over to 500. Like when Maddie and I did his
laser to 300, you know, I drove it for a bit and then and then you were back behind the wheel. I think it.
Yeah. 300 click over. It was a it was a momentous
occasion. We held hands and everything was
beautiful. It was.
I don't think we did. It's always a 3.
It's worth driving. Past the dealership it came from
at 300. We timed it so we went past as
it clocked over. Not many sad, sad autistic
individuals would bother doing that.
But being autistic is sad. I'm just saying we were sad,
yeah. We we're a special kind of
special kind of person. Yes, it was, it was good.
It's almost at 350, Mr Mr Bunting.
So is it? Yeah, it's racking them up,
isn't it? Well, I, I do, as I said to you,
I do 5 to 600 KS a week in that car up the freeway.
So it's it's it's just goes and goes so.
And that's it for me. I don't think there's any more
car updates. Lovely.
My truck, he's a truck. Update My truck didn't sell at
auction, didn't quite get the reserve I wanted to.
So I'm picking it up again tomorrow.
So the truck's coming back. So let me know if you need a
truck. I need to know who does truck
roadworthy. I tried ringing, ringing your
mate Ratner. And anyway, I need to suss that
out. So if Chad or Alan or Maddie,
you know, I'm looking at the top left of the screen here.
You're the trucking guys. I need need a truck roadworthy
person. We can sort you out, don't
stress. Lovely, lovely, good.
David Prince. It must have been thermostat
weak as the aforementioned Accord has a new thermostat in it which is cured the meteoric rise of the temperature gauge, which is good. Nothing, nothing else was no
harm. It's done to that car
thankfully. And they pulled it out and they
said, yeah, look where it was the original thermostat because it was pretty manky and horrible.
So that's not bad for 473,000 KS.
No. He'll take that.
Yeah, we'll take that. Also they they did a sump gasket
as well, which was losing a little bit and they said we think we've got all the oil leaks now.
So that's good there. I mean, there was, it wasn't
leaking huge amounts of oil, but it was certainly, you know, if it was parked for a little while it would drop a bit.
But again, you know, it's an old car and it it's it's got a very high mileage and the fact that at least you knew there was oil in it when it was dropping out of it on the floor.
Yeah, as you would say, David Prince, it's a safety feature.
A. Safety feature.
That's correct. Most cars, most old cars leak.
Oil. So they call it the Exxon Valdez
anti rusting treatment. It has a.
Lovely smooth, quiet electric aerial that slides up and down until it gets caught on something now too.
So I actually, that was, is, was at the point on the weekend I gave a really good clean and blacked it all, blacked the tyres and cleaned all the plastics and stuff and took some photos and real glamour shots. And I actually sent them to the,
the, the people that I, I got it from who were the, the guy's mother was the original owner of the car.
And he'd, he'd messaged me a couple of weeks ago and just, oh, just just wondering, you know, how's the accord going?
You know, So I thought I'll that prompted me to, to get on with doing it. I'd said that I would.
And yeah, he was absolutely rapt.
So. That car will.
Probably go to classic Japan I would think in December and I think we'll might have a little bit of a story attached to it.
I think I mentioned in the previously that I actually found in my file of brochures and stuff that I keep in the garage of all the different Honda models, which is a bit scary when you think about it. In it was the 1994 Wheels
quality audit where back in the day Wheels magazine would get 3 examples of the top 20 selling cars in Australia and judge them over 10 categories for quality and driveability and, and, and all sorts of criteria. And the in 1994, that Accord was
top of the list #1 So I just put a post up saying that I think they're probably on to something because, yeah, I mean, the fact, but I mean, it's probably true of anything.
If you actually look after something and maintain it as the manufacturer intended, a lot of cars will go indefinitely, especially, especially Japanese cars, as we know.
European cars, maybe not so much.
Although I think things like Mercedes D sales will, you know, crack on with the KS and and and behave as the as the the maker intended. Yeah, so now that that's been
good, I've I've enjoyed driving that all over again at the N1 out. I took it to a Toyota car club.
Do a car, a coffee and Donuts, I think, or cars and Donuts or something that was in gels park. I noticed on Sunday night,
Saturday night, that was on Sunday morning.
So I whipped over there in the and just yeah, every time I drive that car, it just puts a smile on my face.
It's such a cool little car to drive.
So that was good. I had a good car weekend.
I think that's it for me. Oh no, actually I also drove
today a car I had driven before I knew of and I belongs to a friend who I've been helping a bit bit out an 848485 Accord hatch which had the three valve per cylinder head on the 1.8
engine. So it was the second, the update
of the second genocord. This lady's had it for a new.
It's done 104,000 KS from new and again been maintained all its life and did not drive like a 40 year old car at all.
It was ridiculously how nice it drove.
Luckily it's a 5 speed manual. Beautiful smooth gearbox, smooth
crisp acceleration, rode nicely. Gave you a good run for about
30-40 minutes to to charge the battery up a bit.
It hasn't been driven for a few weeks.
And yeah, very nice car. White with the blue.
And when you say blue, there's a lot of blue in those.
In those, everything that could be blue was blue.
So blue steering wheel, blue dashboard, blue door trims, blue seats, blue carpets, blue all the plastics.
What is that? David, 84.
I think it's an 85 actually. But yeah, they had it from you
and, and she was telling me today they they actually looked at the legend, which was about 15 grand Yuri, which would have been so a 85, it would have been just released basically.
But then came out here in 86. I think late 85, the first cars,
yeah, mostly 86 for the 86 model year.
So just just launched. But they had a friend that had a
Civic and they were very who was very happy with it.
And they they actually traded, traded in on the Accord TA22 Celica. Oh well.
Had they had they hang on to that and it was in the same condition that it would probably be worth probably 20 times what the accord's worth. But anyway, what can you do?
Retrospect's a cruel, a cruel teacher sometimes.
But anyway, I'm I'm pleased to see the the accord, the accord's in as good nick as it is. So yeah, that was nice to just
see. Well, it wasn't just the wasn't
just the luxury cars, even the sort of everyday cars were were again, when they're maintained properly and looked after they they remain good. As Ken Baxman would say.
You got to maintain your diesel, diesel.
Yeah. So that's.
About me Oh not a whole lot on the car front.
We got insurance renewal from RACV.
They were like $2000.00 for the DMX.
Yeah, I think RAC is about to lose a customer.
So what I kind of found out when I went to get the the Honda insured was that you can't negotiate on the price of new insurance, but you can ask for a review for renewal.
OK. So I'm going to get a couple of
quotes and, you know, get back to them and say, well, what are you gonna do? Yeah, because this isn't just
$2000 like with me as a driver. This is with my old man who's
60. The list as the primary driver a
silver card which is 10% discount, a multi policy discount of 10%. Yeah.
How much would it like me? Like 2 1/2 grand 2.
And a half grand without the discounts, I suppose you so, yeah. Yeah, you know.
How much would it have gone up since the previous year?
I think probably at least $400.00, maybe 600.
Yeah, all ours have gone up too to see the ZRV and the the cavity's gone up. Yeah, with the with the Honda, I
just got a different insurer and you know 1 by 1 because the SDR is coming up in November. If they keep doing it, I'll
just, I'll move away. No, I, I went to a different
company. I was with RSCV because they
undercut everybody to, to get me with them and the next renewal was like way expensive. I called them and I'm like, hey,
what's going on? And they're like, that's the
price. Sorry.
Yeah. So I was like, all right, I'll
make some phone calls. Called UE and it was like half
the price. Yeah, really.
Yeah. So I was like, Yep, UE's picking
up a customer. And you know that that's been my
main car experience for now, I think.
But apart from that, yeah, nothing, nothing.
I'm not cool. Actually.
Some bastard scraped the Honda. They left a bit of black on on
the rear rear Porter. Can you get it off or is it?
Yeah, I think it would just be a quick pause.
Pain transfer, yeah. But still, it's a tiny car and I
wasn't driving it and dad had taken him to the shops and I'm assuming he parked correctly because I'm going to assume he parked correctly and, you know, somebody just, I guess, you know, had a bit of a session. Shit, yeah.
Not a great time, but could be worse.
Could have happened to the STR, you know, that's what I like to think of it. That's what you're going to take
this guy to, to shopping centres?
Exactly, Chad. Not an awful lot.
I did a little bit of work on the Sylvia on Saturday.
I just, I was in the middle of deleting the black PCV stock PCV system and I got rid of a couple of bits of it and blocked it off. So it's just sort of now, yeah.
And all that, you know, gunked up all those little pipes and all that stuff is all now. And I had the headers on it.
I put the headers on a couple of, well, about a month ago now.
And then I finally, I plugged up a hole that was like the EGR port or whatever it was. So I plugged that all off.
And yeah, that's, yeah, pretty much good to go.
And I've discovered that there's some sort of battery leak.
Not a leak, electrical leak somewhere because the battery keeps dying and it does have an alarm on, but I'm not sure it's enough to like really kill her. I've just put a brand new
battery in it, like a couple of months or so.
You know what they call that Chad Grand parasitic draw.
Parasitic draw, yeah. It sounds terrific, doesn't it?
I quite like that. It yeah, it's it sounds evil,
which. My friend Volvo, Alex, who's
been on here a few times, he said, he said, oh, my car's got a parasitic drawer, but he's very prone to drama.
And I'm like, what I said, what are you talking about?
It's like a disease. You mean the battery's going
flat quicker than it should, right?
OK, cool. Yeah, essentially.
So I've got a tract out there and I don't know where it's coming from and see how that goes because I don't want to kill a brand new battery trigger charger.
Yeah, yeah, that's what I that's what I just started doing.
I just left it on since I noticed it was dying.
I haven't done anything else on any other car except I did buy a, an air compressor of Maddie on Saturday, also from Supercheap. And it's like, yeah, one of
these like silenced ones. So hopefully I won't annoy my
neighbours too much. And the idea is that I, yeah, I
really got to get crack, crack on with painting the 190, the 190 and at least put, you know, primer on it so that I, it stops running away. And yeah, that's kind of about
it for me. I yeah, it's a little bit of
work, but not a lot done. But nice coverage to me.
Bit of a car update today. Took the laser to get its
service so dropped that off. They did a couple things.
They changed over my throttle body.
So I had, I had a spare one that I, I got off a car ages ago because sometimes when you when I backed off the the throttle in the in the mornings, the ribs wouldn't come up as as well as well as I should. He's like, yeah, I think it's a
throttle body, throttle Body Issue, change of throttle body really running way better. So that that was the that's
that's fixed that up, that's fixed that issue.
Stall the XRA. So did steal the XRA today
because I have to get that mom had to give me a lift back to to her work and her XRA is there. So I I hopped in that and.
We heard a start up because I parked it outside.
I usually park it in in the evenings and bring it out in the morning so it doesn't get stolen at night.
It's parked at work for mysterious reasons.
We won't get into that. But you know, as it got started
up again, I was like that. That shouldn't have.
That's all right, isn't it? And I'm like, yeah, it is.
I'm like, if somebody's stealing, I was like, look, if they're bold enough to come into our work and steal that car, I'm like, they probably deserve. So I took that for a good run,
gave it a good Italian tune up because it needed it, it it needed one and. It probably needs a service now
because unfortunately it does a lot of cold idling, Yeah.
So there's probably a lot of fuel in the in the oil.
Yeah. So got that, gave it, gave it a
good drive. Yeah, drive really, really well
that's going in next week for tyres and get that exhaust.
I think it's a cotton exhaust, it's a bit bit rattly so so that'll be that'll be sorted I guess.
It's going Catalyst now going. Catalyst, just stay at the cat
that's registered at this moment.
So it's all good. I'll be a Scotty.
They can't take it from you. Now who's going to rush?
Exactly. Cool.
That comes out of the exhaust. I don't think you know the cat's
doing much. It's not doing much anyway, no.
I reckon it's Catlist. So yeah, that that's happening
with that, the lasers going in next week as well to a, a friend of David's to get the tinting done because the tinting is completely mounted, bubbling and especially on the back.
And so mum's like, oh, what do you want for your birthday?
I'm like, I don't really want anything to be honest with you.
And and she's like, you know what, I want to fix your tint because that's been pissing me off.
This thing is it's not been done.
So I was like, oh sure. So so she's putting towards that
to get done next week. Have you made contact with Joel?
I have, yes. Yes.
Yep. So it's he knows it's coming.
He's he's like, Oh yeah, you're the guy that David told me about. I'm like, that is, that is me.
I'm hopefully he's told you good things.
And he's like, yeah, yeah, he's been.
He told me you told me you're all right.
So. So he's looking after me, he
said. Oh, good on him.
Which is good. And and he's like, it's like,
tell David to tell you that I am looking after him.
I'm like, OK, so yeah, that that was that was a that was a big, big, big thing there. So yeah, that was that's the
laser done. I think that's pretty.
I drove the Fiesta on the weekend.
That was that was a bit of fun. Took that out and that's a
pretty much it on my car. Updates have.
You done any more ASMR? You know, nerd noises.
No, it's. Harsh.
We're working on them. We're.
Working on them all right. Edward, buddy, we're gonna need
to get your Tarago. We're gonna have to do that.
Why do you want the Tarago out of all the cars?
Because it's so cool. The Tarago is just so cool.
I can give you any car to do nerd noises on doesn't?
It we'll do it on all the cars eventually.
Yeah. OK.
You know, it'll be, well, the more cars you can line up for us in one afternoon, the better for us, yeah.
I'll just take you. There's a.
Challenge. I'll bust you all down in one
location and you can do about 6. We've got it.
We've got it down to a science at this point.
We had to do it, yeah. You know how to do it now.
Yeah, we've got a. Checklist.
Checklist. Yeah, you know.
Oh. Exactly.
OK, but some cars are unique and they've got different features to other cars. We have.
We have an option for that too. Unique features 1 and 2.
Unique features one and two and three if need be so.
We've got it down to a science. We do.
Mind to talk Japanese? What was that, Scott?
I can get mine to talk Japanese. Actually then one does 2.
It's so cool. It tells me at the UTC card and
then the GPS and then. Checklist.
Yeah. So, yeah, we'll have to, we'll
have to do them all. I think we just just want So
what we can do, we can do a car in about an hour and an hour and 10 and 20 or I can getting all, getting all the, you know, all the little things done and all that equals up to about a minute of footage. No, it they, they, they work
quite well. We've got the STI dropping
hopefully this week I think. Cool.
Which will be very cool. So yeah, these holidays, I'm
planning on doing a few more getting getting some ready so we can we can definitely make that happen.
Good, I hope. But that is that is it.
With that now gentlemen, moving on to tonight's topic now in the group chat, this this this afternoon is.
Alan's topic Is that what we're doing?
Yeah, so, so Alan, Alan is a man of many, many talents and topic generation is one of them. So he's I'm not taking.
Credit for this. Well, actually not I am because
I did. So I will take credit.
So to be fair, there was two parts.
So David, so we're going to cover two points.
David mentioned car stuff we have done for our birthdays or things that we would like to get for our birthdays or drives we were planning to do for our birthdays.
And Alan Beep, as he's known on the chart, a suggestion from the boss here at work tonight is unfortunate accidents in the car of the gastrointestinal variety. So to then with David Princess,
just like put like the shocked face kind of emergency response.
So let's talk with let's talk before we get to yours, Alan, let's talk about Dave. Is there things you do that
you'd like to do car related for your birthday?
I, I always like to go for a drive personally that that that's one of my favourite things to do.
I wasn't able to do that today because I had to go to work.
But everyone wants. I remember one birthday I went
on probably 5-6 years ago, I took the typhoon down to the Arab Valley. And.
And had a spirited drive through the spur and through other, other roads up there and just went by myself, stopped in the pub for lunch and looked like a complete loner.
But it was, it was a good thing. And you know, I, I left at, I
left at 5:00 in the morning so there'd be no traffic on the road. And I was belting up these roads
and you had a great time. Kate came back and I was back
before, before 3:00 PM. And I was like, that's a good
day. Well done, I think.
Of course. What about you guys, what things
you like to do for your birthday that are car related or car gifts? Actually, we can do it.
We can also discuss car gifts. Thing is, what are some
appropriate car gifts? But we'll get to that after we
ask. What things do you like to do on
your birthday that car related gentlemen?
I can give you a couple so that not this year, but the last three years prior to this, I did a little birthday drive, which, you know, went to various places around Victoria and ended with a lunch, you know, BYO, BYO food to share sort of thing.
So there was a always a smorgasbord of juicy at the end of the run. And that was that was good.
It started after COVID because no one had been out anywhere.
And I thought, what do I do? My birthday's in July.
You can't, it's not beach weather.
You got to kind of be in Dorsey a bit, but you could have 20 people outside, I think. So I was like, all right, well,
everyone's desperate to go somewhere.
Let's do this drive route that I planned.
And we ended up in Macedon, which was my God, it was cold.
We were standing up cold that day.
I think we were a Rotunda thing in Macedon.
But everyone was just so happy to be out and and enjoying some savoury and sweet snacks at the end of it.
I was wearing thermals and two jackets that day and I was still cold. It was very crazy.
So that was three birthday drives, and on my 12th birthday I was on Fraser Island, now called Kagari, in a land cruise out doing a tour down the beach that was like a higher, you know, a higher car thing, so on. Your 12th birthday. 12th
birthday, yes. OK so that was a while ago.
And car gifts. I'm still waiting for someone to
give me a pagoda. One day.
One day, one day we'll come back.
You want a couple a month or so ago?
What are you talking about? It wasn't your birthday.
Even a pagoda. Oh, yes, you did, David.
Thank you. Yeah, you did give me a brand
new Model Pagoda. White with red interior.
That's right, that's right. And I I put a photo on Instagram
recently. Some of you would have seen that
all. Your pagodas, well, I just.
Started out the drawer in my bedroom and started, I was looking for a model for David ironically, and I found just all these pagodas. So I, I thought I'll just take a
photo of that. It's called manifesting, you
know, you visualise what you want in this world and maybe one day it'll happen. You know, like a lot of people
here at this point would say, but you've got like a million cars, why don't you sell them all?
Yeah, that's you can, but you're still not going to be able to afford. The problem is, yes, I could
sell them all and I'm still nowhere near what a pagoda will cost me so. Maybe a house too.
Maybe a house, yeah. Yeah, yeah, babe.
Not a house now, because I think the median house price is like 900 in Victoria, but yeah, Pagoda is a big chunk of money.
So even if I sold everything. And then I've only got 1 car and
what if I want to drive something else?
Then I don't have it. And so I go around in circles
with that idea as well. Edward, have you ever driven a
pagoda? Yes, I have yes a.
Couple did it? Did it meet your expectations?
Oh, I liked it very much, yes. Yep, Yep.
That's, I mean, it's, I had that my very first Mercedes was at 197280 S, so WW108, very much the same era, same engine, same gearbox, you know, all that. And that was white with blue.
And I, I really like driving that car.
And this is just that in a real sexy form.
So yeah, yeah. Anyway, it's, it's good to have
things to look forward to because if you had it all, well, then you sort of, you know, you need something to yearn for in this world, I think. Edward, what would be your dream
spec pagoda? I think it would be that I I
think, despite there being a lot of colours available for that car that look really love beautiful with a lot of them.
I think that there's the white with the blue MB techs is me.
I think it's just so classic and understated and it's a really nice simple combo. The dark egg blue, the cream is
nice, the dark blue, the cream is nice.
So there's other it's not that there's not other nice colours that I would have, but I think it's my first Benz was white with blue. That era just suits it.
I know, and it grew. Creamy white too, isn't it?
Oh, there's a couple of different whites.
The one I'm thinking of is actually a bluish white.
It's OK cold white with a bit of blue in it.
When I went to the Fox Classic Car Museum years ago, This is probably 15 years ago, maybe more, and they had all these Ferrari F 40s and whatever, whatever.
And then everyone was ooing and owing over all this crazy exotica. And in the middle of the
workshop was just this little white and blue pagoda.
And I was like, that's it. You are, you are coming home
with me. Out of all these, If you say
they'd take any car from this Fox Classic Car Museum, that's me. Simples, Simples problem is
everyone else, you know, everyone else gets on the pagoda bandwagon and likes them. So it's almost, it's unoriginal
now to like them and I'm like, no, no, no, I like these since I had the model of it when I was a kid.
You know, like I like before you all got on the bandwagon.
You're an original hipster. Yeah, exactly.
All these advertising executives and, you know, hedge fund managers and people that can afford pagodas, I was on that.
I was on that bandwagon early. So in what engine?
The 280 engine or. I would be very happy with
either the 2:30, the 250, or the 280, all of which are straight 6 bends engines, all of which are good.
It wouldn't worry me really. Which engine I did, you know, if
you had a gun to my head, yes, the 280, but it wouldn't have to be a 280. OK, well I'll keep that in mind
when I'm in the lottery next time.
I'll, I'll, I'll buy it for you. Just yeah, any anyone out there,
you know, help a poor guy out? I've only got 10 cars but
they're all shit. And by winning the I mean
actually winning it for like instead of winning instead of winning $20. One, one person won that last
Powerball. Wasn't it $100 million in
Queensland? Someone won, Yeah.
Started by a nice cave wouldn't. It.
Oh yeah. You could have all the pagodas,
said Edward. Just one.
Just one. A.
Couple of really cool car related birthday present.
It's funny when, when you're when you're a guy of a certain age, people always say, oh, you're so hard to buy a present for. And I think, no, I'm not like.
It's not. Actually.
A model car. Yeah, precisely, precisely
anything or anything like that. But for or, or gosh, how it's a
long time ago now. For my 30th birthday, I had not
long before that our first child was born.
I am, if you're listening. Yeah, darling.
And I had replied I had to keep a committee position on the car club. And part of the constitution was
that the position I had at the time you needed a Honda.
So that's my wife bought me my first Scamp for $50.00 out of
the newsletter and which I still have that the red one.
And for my 30th birthday she went in with a whole lot of organised a whole lot of car club people to actually get the original black and white plates that that car was registered with. Oh, get out.
Yeah, so this is before, before you, before there were such things as club plates. So it had to be on full Ridge.
So by the time I when when I got it it, it had a Garden State plate. It had been re registered in the
80s sometime for whatever reason.
I never never found that out. But but yeah, after my 30th
birthday, it had the original KPK 089 that it was actually registered with the new in Melbourne.
So those plates are still hanging on the wall of the garage. Did that come with any books or,
you know, a manual? No, no, nothing.
No, I've I've. Since that I've.
I've added them to it since. How did you know the original
plate on that car? I was registered when I got it.
Oh right, you took it off. That yeah, DoD 131, it was cash
on delivery. But how did you know that?
$50 I paid. How did you know that it was
originally KPK though? Well, it was funny.
There was a standard the motor show one year and the the I don't think it was even called Vicroads back then, but the, the equivalent of Vicroads had a stand there and and they did have a like a heritage or a historic division.
And as part of the motor show, you could actually, they wouldn't give you any names, of course, anything, but you could go by the the they, they could trace back what the original plate was if the Caribbean re registered.
So they, they gave me that information.
So I knew that it was delivered in Melbourne.
And yeah, it had a KKPK number, black and white plate, which was the right for the right ear of the car so we could pin down the month it was registered, I think in 1970.
Yeah. So once I knew it, then I could
order it. But it was like a personalised
plate, a complete reissue. So it was yeah, yeah, yeah, 400
bucks. But yeah, about six or seven of
my friends put in and I had no idea it was it.
That was a great birthday present.
And then the year or two years ago now was discussing what would, what we'd do with the upcoming trip to the UK.
And for my birthday I was given a Land Rover experience in the Scottish Highlands. So got to drive around the
Scottish Highlands in a brand new Discovery, which didn't breakdown, which was good, but you didn't go far over.
I think you were limited to 20 mph or something on the course, but you wouldn't want to be going any faster.
I mean, it was uphill and down Dale and through lakes and over rocks and stuff. That was that was pretty cool.
Did you see the Loch Ness Monster, David?
We didn't see any monsters. No, no, I saw plenty of deer and
and stuff like that. They've they've got like a it's,
it's on a lock. The the Land Rover just in
Perthshire, just out of a place called Dunkel up in the, up in the mountains. It was absolutely beautiful.
It was misty day and yeah, it was.
It was really great. G'day.
The perfect place for a Land Rover.
It's funny whenever you go I I sort of think oh Gee, you know, discovery would be really cool, cool or you know, Range Rover Sport some of these roads you'd home you'd think this would be perfect it'd. Be perfect, especially broken
down on this other Rd because it'd just fit in.
It'd just fit in. Interestingly, I said to the the
instructor guy, I said these cars don't have a great reliability yeah, history, right, You know, he said yeah, said some of them don't have a great reliability history in in the UK. He was pretty honest about it,
but but it's one of those cars when they're on song, they're, they're pretty magnificent. So, but this thing would just,
you know, it, it cycled, you know, it's got all the electronic programmes for mud ruts and, and snow and, and, and water forwarding and it shuts everything off.
And it, and actually the water level that you were driving through came up on the, on the dashboard, you know that that's cool. Yeah, yeah, it was, it was, it
was really cool. So we stopped in the middle and
there's just water all around us and you can see how far up on the side of the car it was from the, the diagram on the dash and stuff. So and it got out of the water
so under it's own sting so it couldn't have to get towed or anything. But yeah, that was that was a
very cool thing for a car guy that was that was a lot of fun to do. Just very quickly on the topic
of old rego numbers, you can I believe still currently write to the AOMC Association of Motoring Clubs and they have taken on board all the old Vicroads paper card records.
So if you know the engine number or the chassis number or body number of an older car, they can look up the card system like it's like literally like the old library cards used to have.
Do you decimal system or whatever and they can look up what the old regos were? So I for my first ever Merck, I
got them to do that because that had custom plates on it when I got it and I found out the original plate for that through that means it cost like $40 or something and I'll do that search for you. So it won't work for everything,
but I've found out a couple of cars that way.
If they were Victoria cars, Yeah, it's good to know.
Yeah, that's a really cool thing about any car built in the UK is the heritage certificate that you can actually apply to the DVLAI think it is in the UK and that'll actually it'll, it'll supply all the information as to the original colour, the chassis number, the options where it was produced and they really importantly the dealer to which it was dispatched all.
Right. World, you know so you often
I've got a mate with an old Rover 90 and he he got the heritage certification of that and it'd be it had all the information the original colour and it was thankfully still the original colour and and I think Regents or Keller Forkner, I think I know Regents, I think Regents in the city were were the original distributor of the car.
So yeah, that's pretty cool to have that, but any car built in the UK you can get the heritage certificate for.
So my mini was built here so they wouldn't have it.
For that. Not in the UK, no.
You'll have to buy a British car.
Yeah, why do I know where that car came from?
Yeah, that's true. What about you guys in terms of
car gifts that you've received? Always just sort of enjoyed,
yeah. Going for a drive when I had my
Skoda, and I think it was like a year into dating my now wife, we went for a drive to Falls Creek. And it was quite a fun memory
just because it was a, you know, nice trip and the car behaved really nicely. And, you know, it was sort of it
hacked up driving in the snow and stuff.
And yeah, yeah, I was just really like driving.
Yeah. So yeah, that's probably the
best, best kind of gift I can give myself or, you know, so.
Was that a day trip up to Forest Creek or or you stayed overnight it? Was an over a week.
It was over a weekend so we had to drive up on a Friday morning and then came back Sunday day or something.
Oh yeah, nice. Yeah, Bunch driving in like
Bright and I mean Owen all that was Yeah.
Awesome place. Nice.
Ellen I. Don't get presents.
Oh, I did. Don't worry, you know, mine's a
little more humble. I just like a nice a nice car
wash. Oh yeah, not by, you know,
shopping centre scratcher magic. Like by.
Itself. So not like going to full scrub
doctor, but you know, doing like a gentle car wash, just getting it, getting the dust off, that sort of thing.
And then going for a quick ride to, you know, 1, you know, get the residual water off and just enjoy the car while sliced and fresh. That's probably been like my
ideal birthday car situation cause a lot of times I've trokes on something else during the birthday, not necessarily the cars, whether it's, you know, taking myself to some lovely ladies in the city that dance for me, you know, I got myself a present, but you know. Well, that was unexpected.
At least it's an honest, Yeah, that's that's probably my kind of birthday character. It's relatively light.
Like I don't think I've done any kind of birthday trials because most of the time, lots of it, it's not a big deal.
But I do like to enjoy myself with the car.
It's one of the things I do enjoy.
So I just get the car cleaned so the car, you know, feels a bit happier. I feel a bit happy seeing the
car cleaned. How is run better when they
clean? They do.
They do. I remember when we were doing
some of the the shooting for yeah, you smile, you smile.
The STR was dusty as all hell. And so, you know, I've just been
sitting in the garage for the last what, two months?
Yeah, dead battery. So you know, Maddie took it with
me to the the car wash and because again had the ceramic coating just having like the water cleaned off and just cleaned the dirt off just with a a bit of order.
Amazing. It's just a lovely, lovely
feeling. So simple things like that and
some dancing lady. There's a high income lady on
the name. Don't come back to them.
What? About you, Scotty.
Not really much when it comes to my birthday with with car related stuff. I tend to just do car related
car related stuff throughout the year.
Anytime. Yeah, should probably do what
Alan does, I think. For my birthday maybe?
Yeah, go to the city. Find out the places he goes to
and get. Answers.
Why not? Yeah, I don't know.
I don't really have anything. I mean even present wise,
nothing. Don't you?
You would have got models and stuff Scotty for your birthday.
No, it's all bought by me. I can add to that because I, I,
my family always get like loaded like to get me like like a model car or, or something car related because they know I'm a sick individual. So, so yeah, I used to get like,
you know, every time I used to go to the, to like the shop, she'd bring me back a little matchbox, just one, one hot wheel or a matchbox, you know, she'd, she'd bring me, she'd bring me one back home. It's like, you know, and I'd be
hanging out. Once you bring in the groceries,
I'm like, you know, where's she's like, hang on a minute.
She's going through the bags. I was like snatching at the
bags, like give. Me.
The damn car. On the food down.
On the main who cares about the food, the.
Drapes have gone to wash. The bananas are like out of the,
you know. There's.
More about Broken half. I remember once my dad like so.
OK, long story, but we still have an old KE hatchback for Laser. And this was years ago and I was
probably 15 at the time. And my dad for some unknown
reason had imported a whole container load of, you know, graters for like get to grape, you know, onions and vegetables and cheese and all that. And he he he full container load
him and him and that extra neighbour decided to go into business together to do this. So I'd be at the trash treasure
markets for the for like every every weekend selling them and he'd be off shopping while I'd be like $12.00 graders, 12
selling out of the back of his laser.
I look like the biggest homo like with an old laser with, you know, brewed open and graders and and daddy come back with with. You're like, you know, those
fake tricks. We have a brick.
You're like, look, this is a real brick.
You know you don't go something like grate in the brick and you're. Like, well, no, what my dad
would do, he'd be like, all right, he'd help me set up and he'd be like, oh, I'm off and where you going?
He's like, I'll be back soon. Comes He'd go because it's it's
a market. He'd buy veggies and stuff.
He'd be like, oh, you're going to grate this in front of the people to show you how great, how great our graders are.
And there was a guy that was like a few stores down selling, you know, the graders, but they were never as good anyway.
But I was like, don't go to him for 20 bucks, Come to us with $12.00. And, and, and look.
So my dad would always be like as a, as a thank you gift for that because he'd be making the money obviously.
And I'll be just telling him he'd buy me, he'd buy me a model car. I don't remember once he bought
me a, an AV8 supercar. He collected, you know, classic
collectible of, yeah, one of the Dick Johnson racing cars.
And I've still got it. And it was always a fond memory
of for yeah, here I am selling all these bloody graders and my dad's just shopping at the at the markets he's.
Not shit better. Yeah, well.
Done it was like that though, like, you know looking back there it was it was a funny time like he's.
This little, I'm not sure he actually went to the other guy's stand and was like just shit talking of the fuck you.
Come to my I said like good greater.
Oh, you know, it's just I was actually thinking about that the other day because because Steph bought bought a Brady great out of my I told her this. I told her the story.
And. But that's some like boxes of
them, like like like boxes of them.
But when you tell me what a boy, what a boy she's like, what you so great as a kid, I'm like. So has he?
Has he still got boxes now? What was that?
What was that it? Has he still got boxes now?
He's got a few boxes left in the garage somewhere.
Yeah, he's got like two or three boxes left.
Yeah. We had a full container load.
We sold, actually. You know, we went.
I was at the Trash Attention Buckets every Sunday morning.
I was getting up at 4:00 in the morning to.
Get this? Oh my.
God, I was there for four months.
We were selling these things and my dad's like, you can take him to school. I'm like, I'm not going to sell
him at school now. He's like, he didn't really
understand the fact, but our graders were superior because you could you could swap out the blade.
So like the other guy, you have to replace it was the whole thing as you can swap the blades, you can have a little different types. You there was like a like a
locking system, man, they're good.
They're damn good graders, You know It's good.
That's why it's like, I got the box, you know, you want next, next episode. Over these two ladies, they,
they just bought some from, from the, you know, the other shop they're walking down and here's me sitting in the boot of the laser. Just just, we're just waiting
for people to come and she's like, you guys, you guys got greatest. Yeah, I'm like, yeah, that's a
better. I don't know why you didn't come
here first. Anyway, she's like, look, we
just spent 20 bucks. I'm like, look, I'll do it.
She got a special price, $10 each.
And and she's like, she's like, she's like, look, would you do 8? And I'm like no, 10.
I asked her for 10 bucks and I gave you 10 bucks each.
And she's like, how old are you? I'm like, oh, 15.
She's like, how do you, how are you selling these, these things here? Like they're knives and, you
know, they, they shot blades and I'm like, I'm like.
Look where we are. We're in treasure.
Treasure in the middle of Thomas Town.
Not no one cares. There's no figulation.
Yeah, they were good times. I I yeah, very fond memories.
I can I can relate to with, with with, with my old man.
They were. Yeah.
Simpler times. Very simpler.
Times It was all for the greater good, Maddie.
Yeah, it. Was all.
Cars, cars, cars, cars, cars. Cars, but yeah.
Look. Picture your mum's face
container called graders. I sold the graders, yeah, but
they'd be like, we made this much today.
I'm like, no, I made this much today.
You weren't shopping. You got a car as a payment, so
that's not bad. It is true.
It is true, I I did get little model cars, but I remember my my 20 no, the first birthday I had when I had my typhoon, all my family chipped in to get me the the custom plates for the car, which were the build number 156 FPV, which was which was pretty cool in an FPV style plate kept the original plates obviously.
But yeah, it was like it was, it was nice to have like that, you know, that that I thought that was a really cool gift and.
And my Nan, she gave me a really driving experience, which I used a couple of years ago and I used it on my birthday.
I was like, I might as well use it on my, I got it one year and I got used it next and that was heaps of fun.
So yeah, car related activities. He was like, what do we get?
Like my sister asked me the other day, oh, it's your birthday. What do I get you?
I'm like, I'm like car related to anything.
Just just, you know, I might not get you a super cheap voucher.
You spend your whole wage there anyway.
I'm like, yeah, you know what? That's a that's a great, that's
a great idea. So.
That rally driving Matt down in like Avalon way down there.
No, it was near. It was in the back of.
It was near back as marsh. Back as Marsh, yeah.
Yeah, yeah, right. It was, it was down there and,
and I actually broke the, the WRX.
I, I, I, yeah, I broke it quite, quite badly actually.
It wasn't doing anything wrong. Like I, they tell you to give it
a hit and, and you know, Scandi flick it into corners and, and that was fun. Anyway, I got a Scandi flick it
and the car just keeps going like there's something wrong with the car. And he's like turn on.
I'm like, I'm like the wheel's locked.
It's not, it's not going anyway. Just straight off into a wall.
Yeah, it was like in, but it was, it was like a soft mud wall. So like it kind of hit it and
went over the top of it. Anyway, he had looked and he's
like, he's like you broke the car.
I'm like, I'm like mate, the car didn't turn.
And he has look, he's like, Oh yeah, no, I could see why it didn't turn. Like like these cars were these
these old WRX's were just beaten.
Yeah, they wouldn't have an easy life, I'm guessing.
They've had a very hard life. So then they then they're like
had a. Very hard life before they got
to the. They're all RAM rated.
Before yeah, a lot of RAM raid. Oh, man, so, so then they, they
put me in another one and then this one was quite quick and it felt quicker. It's like, yeah, this is a fast
this is, this is, this is how to rebuild, rebuild motor and and stuff. And, and then it didn't break
that one, which was nice. Yeah, that, that, that was a
good time. But yeah, power already gifts
for for car individuals is always, always good.
Have you ever gotten rid of a model car?
Not like see anyone here? When have you been given a model
car for anywhere where you bought one?
Have you ever gotten rid of any? No, the only ones I got rid of
were the ones that burnt in the fire, which was which was, which was quite a lot of them in the in the front areas.
But no, I've actually never like never gotten rid of them because like I, you know, I love having my little cars because I look at them and I was like a child. Now here I am.
That back wall was still that room was still safe, right?
It's safe, but they all smoke damaged Yeah so like all all the boxes were were were like there they were just just soot eat everything and like the the the plastics were like faded and yeah the. Car safe from the Insider.
In the inside they were fine, yeah, but the so you take.
Them out of the original wrapping.
Inside each other, I I had I had to the way it's meant to the way it's meant to be played with. It's a toy.
I get it. Thanks, Alan.
So those are the only times I've actually ever gotten rid of gotten rid of a car. No, and to be fair, I gave one
of my I can't believe. I can't believe I did this.
One of my model Mr Twos, one of them one of them new the new matchbox ones a while and yet charges Look at me like how how could you do that? Well, I got I ended up buying
like 15 of them. I found out, yeah, that's.
It you got, you got multiples. No, but like, again, you know,
it me like you know, but it's my MR2, my Steph's.
Like you've got your little nephew coming over.
He loves that little car. You need to give him a miniature
version of it. And then, and then, like Steph
was like, I could see the moment your heart broke as he opened the pocket. There were just trouble bonding
because I'm like, it takes me back to my.
This is technically a little different.
It's a gold Mario hibo. Oh.
Yeah. Very rare as well.
Yeah. Got one from Japan.
And, you know, my cousin threw a hissy fit and my mom's like, give it to him. I'm like, he's like, you know,
give it to him. Like, you're breaking my heart,
you know, open immediately. And then he went home and threw
them in. Wow.
Dude, I would disown him like like, you know, like that, that is like, what is that? How is he even related to you?
It's. Painting misery.
I think I've got a spare one. I'm like you.
Always. Hide Detoys when kids are coming
up. That is true.
That is true. Never trust kids, they will act,
you know, civilised in front of you as well.
If you look away what when they're about to leave those from hissy fit they will, they have to give them something.
It's just it's a trick I've experienced.
It's a tactic. It's a tactic, it's strategy,
it's a cheat code. Damn kids.
Well, I've, I think I've got like 3 or 4 of the gold ones and like 3 silver ones. So what are you?
I am. So I might, I might I'll bring
them out and you can have one and I'll I'll, that'll be your Christmas present. Any other car related gifts
