800-926-7777. So this week, I've had a beauty of an SUV.
That's an impressive looking vehicle and the color combinations are interesting too.
I love the color combinations.
The red and black. The red and blue?
Red and blue.
Red and blue.
With black.
With black. Okay, I knew there was a black.
It's a kind of a lighter blue color, says the color blind guy.
I don't know what color it is.
I keep forgetting that you're color blind.
They tell me it's blue.
Okay.
The window sticker said it was blue.
That's good enough for me.
So some shade of blue and it's not navy. I know that.
It's got a lot of red trim on it, which is kind of the signature of Nismo, Nissan Motorsports.
So it's kind of a light blue with a lot of red, a black top, black bottom and black wheels.
Yeah, it's a real unique color combination and it's a more sporty look than I remember
their Amada having.
Big time. We're talking about the 2026 Armada Nismo.
Yeah.
I'll have that review in a lot of pictures in next Friday's free weekly newsletter.
They upped the horsepower on this one.
Yeah.
460 horses, 516 pound feet of torque, 28 inches worth of screens that set from in front of
the driver all the way over to the middle of the vehicle.
That's becoming the common thing, man.
The screens that span the entire dashboard just about.
Yeah.
And this one's big.
It is a nice, nice, nice SUV.
Were they trying to go for a Range Rover kind of a thing?
Or do you, I mean, I know that they're not in the same class, but.
No, but maybe, I mean, it's pretty square.
Yeah.
It's pretty square like the Armada tends to be.
And then they put spoilers on the front and rear down low.
So it really gives it a square look, but it's got black and red seats inside.
Black leather, red Alcantara, big panoramic moon roof.
What kind of stereo do I have?
Clipsh, which is fancy.
It is.
And it sounds nice and loud and.
Yeah.
Sounds good too.
I'll bet.
Oh, it's.
He killed me with that.
He killed me 83 grand on the one sticker on this one.
And you'll probably never get to buy one.
They're just building.
It's a niche vehicle.
They're building so few of them.
My big Nissan dealer in Dallas, Fort Worth.
He hasn't even gotten one yet.
He thinks he may only get one for the year.
I mean.
So are these folks going to buy these things?
Then they're going to sell them to like and really increase the price.
Quite a bit.
Yeah.
Probably wouldn't surprise me.
Yeah.
It's going to be a rare.
It's going to be a rare vehicle.
Yeah.
Let's talk to Gary in Austin, Texas.
Gary, welcome and happy new year.
Happy new year.
I'm a long time listener and first time caller.
Well, it's good to have you pal.
All right.
I got a question.
I was a dealer to buy, I looked at a Lexus, but they didn't have it.
So they showed me a BMW and it was a BMW dealer and I liked the car and all that.
I go down to the pricing and they show me the price and this and then I negotiate and we
do that.
But later on, probably after I left the dealership, I looked at on the internet, the price is
$2,000 cheaper than what he showed me as a price.
Is that common or is that unspeakable?
Oh, it's common because whoever you're talking to at the BMW dealership has no idea what it's
online for.
They probably don't even look.
So they just price it and if you're a consumer and you're not smart enough to go online first
and see if the car you're looking and we're talking used cars here.
So the rule is that it's a 21M440i.
Oh, nice car.
So in used cars, there's no rules period.
It can be on it could be online for more or less than what they ask you once you're there
looking on the lot.
But they assume if you don't tell them that you saw the car online and that's the one
you're there to look at, they assume that you haven't looked online.
So they can price it anywhere they want to.
I'm not saying I agree with that.
I'm not saying that's right.
I'm just telling you the reality of it.
Okay, because I thought I was going to unscrupulous.
I did buy it less than the internet price.
So I got I think I got a fair deal, but I went to talk to the sales manager and he
gave me a 15 minute speech about this was this price.
This was that price, but none of it's labeled.
But they just say this and that.
And I'll tell you what for your problems.
We'll give you some free car washers.
Hey, look at there.
Woo, nice.
It's a new year.
I'll look out.
Now, you know, I mean, with used cars, with used cars, you're always best to go
online and assume because again, there's no rules.
Dealers don't have to price cars any particular way.
There's no window sticker price to compare like there is with a new car.
So they're going to be all over the board.
You can have two cars at two different dealerships that are almost identical.
And they're going to be thousands of dollars of difference.
A lot of dealers price their they give their best price online.
The day they get the car and they never move.
Others price their cars up high and reduce the price as time goes on.
So again, no rules.
Just be smart.
Always look online first.
That's the most you should pay.
Happy New Year, buddy.
The easiest way to decide between this year's model and next year's model of the car you
want is to call Jerry Reynolds at the car pro show first.
Call now 1-800-926-7777.

The top car reviews for 2025.
One of the most clicked items in this past week's newsletter that Jerry has put together.
Of course, he's got these all situated by categories like two row SUVs,
three row large SUVs, electrics and all that kind of thing.
If you want to go back and get sort of a comprehensive view of the year of 2025
and all the vehicles that he reviewed, the most enjoyable to the ones leaving a major
impression to maybe say things that weren't the most impressive, it's all right.
They're kind of in capsule there for you and that news section, the top car reviews for 2025.
And more importantly, if you're looking at a certain car that you want to go check out,
you can always go to carprobe.com and do a search of that vehicle and all the reviews
and any information about that certain vehicle will pull right up for you.
It's always a good resource.
Yeah, that's something that you should do if you're looking at a used car.
Yes, exactly.
See if I reviewed it when it was new.
Yeah, you've got years and years of reviews on there.
Oh, 10 years.
Yeah, that's great.
That's one of the hardest articles I write every year.
You have to go through and look at the entire year and really think about
what was the most impressive and remember all that stuff.
Oh, trying to remember cars that I reviewed in January?
Yeah, after a hundred, I would imagine they run together.
Well, they kind of do.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Let's talk to Shake in Plano, Texas in the Dallas, Fort Worth area.
Shake, welcome.
How can I help you, buddy?
Happy New Year, man.
Happy New Year to you, buddy.
I've been listening to you for a long time.
Also, I met you one time in Louisville Auto Zone and he told me,
I am the car guy.
Did you do that?
I'm sure I did.
Yeah.
Anyway, I'm working in this Mitsubishi dealership, Don having Mitsubishi in Plano.
Yeah.
It's pretty nice family owned business, pretty honest.
Yeah, I know Don.
How can we promote?
I know Don very well.
I knew his father also.
Yes, sir.
How do we promote our dealership with you?
Played your talk show and do we have any roster?
Or how we do this?
I mean, we have the quality vehicle in a new and pre-owned.
And I've been listening to you for a long time.
Okay.
This is the backup.
I'm not sure I understand the question.
The question, how do I promote my dealership with you?
Played your talk show.
Oh, how do you become part of the talk show?
How do you get on my show?
Is that the question?
Yes, sir.
Oh, I got a guy that handles that for me in Houston.
And I'd be happy to pass this information to you if you want to shoot me an email.
Go to carpro.com and I'll send that to you.
I would love to have you guys.
I don't have a Mitsubishi dealer in Dallas, Florida.
In fact, that's the only brand that I don't have.
In Dallas, Florida.
Wow.
Well, that's great.
So I could probably reach you with an email.
Yeah, you can.
I'm going to put it up.
I will hook you up.
Yeah.
I know the dealership.
I don't have to do any checking out.
I know Don.
Don knows me.
I know Don's sister.
I knew his father and mother.
Yes, sir.
My wife decorated Don's house, believe it or not.
Yeah, but he's a great family, actually.
Yeah.
Oh, they're great people.
Great people.
I mean, Don Sr.'s office.
Have you been in there?
Which one is it?
Don Sr., Don Herring Sr.?
Don Sr., I know I haven't seen him.
Actually, I just saw the sister and the brother.
Yeah.
And yeah, that's what we're working with at Plano.
As I said, we have a great, you know, magnificent machine in the Mitsubishi
brand.
Oh, absolutely.
Look, I've always said Mitsubishi makes one of the best cars on the road.
They go forever.
They should.
I mean, they just go forever.
And so, yeah, shoot me an email and I will, I'll get you in touch with a guy
named Tom Haines.
He knows Don Jr. and Sherry both already.
So we'll get you guys hooked up.
We need you and you need me.
So let's do it.
All right.
Thank you, buddy.
I appreciate the call very much.
And I guess I might as well break the news now.
What I'm driving next week.
It's just the life of being a car reviewer.
You know, sometimes it's down.
Come out of this super hot, rare Nissan Armada Nismo that every car reviewer
in the world would love to get their hands on and won't be able to.
All this horsepower, big, nice, the hot happening SUV.
And next week I'll spend the week in the Kia Carnival minivan.
Oh, no.
If you don't actually know how to take a real test drive, call Jerry Rivels,
the car pro and find out the car pro show, 1-800-926-7777 and David in Rosenberg,
Texas.
You're next on the car pro show.
Happy New Year, buddy.
Happy New Year, Jerry.
Good to talk to you.
You too, pal.
What's up?
So, unfortunately, I went to a non-car pro Toyota dealership this morning.
Trying to buy a, yeah, trying to buy.
I knew better.
I told my wife I wanted to talk to you before I went, but it wasn't Saturday.
So, anyway, I went and to buy my wife a new Grand Highlander hybrid.
And I done my research on the internet and all the, more or less, all the Toyota dealers
in the Houston area have their websites are similar and the prices were similar on the vehicles.
And of course, the packages are similar.
So, I found two that were at least according to the website in production.
I go to the dealership and I called them first and said, hey, is it still not spoken for?
And then, yeah, come in.
So, I go in and I talked to them and I said, you know, I'd like to put some money down on
this vehicle.
I asked them some questions about the hybrid, the engine, the, excuse me, the turbo charge
versus the non-turbo charge.
Because on your website, you had promoted the turbo charged, which, you know, I understand
the power and I can understand you promoting that.
Yeah, sure.
So, I wanted, you know, and it's hard to get a vehicle to drive, right?
So, I wanted to see the difference between the two engines.
And of course, I asked the guy, I'm like, first, he's like, we don't have any Grand
Highlanders on the lot.
And I'm like, okay, well, it should be the same engine in the Toyota Sienna, right?
I mean, it's the same engine.
No, it's not the same engine.
I'm like, okay, whatever.
That was the first, that was the first mark against them.
That's when you leave.
But, yeah, well, I didn't leave because I finally convinced him to let me drive a Toyota
Sienna and I drove it.
And now I know why you promote the turbo charged, but so they had it.
They had it.
And I brought the piece of paper from the internet.
I printed it off.
They had the deal on it.
And I said, okay, this is the one I want.
When's it due in?
David, David, hang on.
I'm going to have to put you back on hold and catch you after we come back from this break.
I don't want to, I want to answer you.
Hybrid, plug-in hybrid, electric, or just plain old gas.
Find out the right choice for how you drive.

And welcome back to the CarPro Show with Jerry Wellos, the CarPro.
We return now to the call that Jerry Ozone with David from Rosenberg.
Yes, trying to buy a new Grand Highlander.
All right, David.
So you're, you're all in on the hybrid.
Yep, yep, yep, all in.
And, and so after I drove the Sienna, which is a beautiful car too.
It was, it was absolutely beautiful.
But obviously I want the turbo charge and, and I was curious as to why you recommended that.
That's the, that's one question.
But the second thing was when I went to finish the deal.
So they have, I have the piece of paper from the internet.
I have the internet prize.
It has everything listed on it, right?
Everything, all the options that come from the dealer, all the options that come from the factory.
Well, he's, for one thing, I don't know what else they could put on it when he gets back to the
dealer, but it was another $6,000 for options.
And I'm like, look, I don't, it has everything on it.
I don't want anything else.
What could you put on it?
And so he says some kind of diamond coating and, you know, some, so I said, no, I don't want that.
I want the cars that comes from the thing.
And he goes, no, neither you take that or we won't sell it to you.
And my question is, are all the dealers going to do this to me?
I mean, okay, good, good.
Should I ask that question before I go in?
Well, why don't you choose one of my dealers and talk to them and you want to deal with it?
I will, I will, and I am, I promise you.
Let's pick one from Rosenberger.
Are you closer to Katie, Angleton, Spring or Baytown?
Katie, yeah.
And, you know, I was going to go to Katie, but Mike, the one, there was one that was closer
and I went there and it was not a good experience.
Close.
You've heard me say this.
You've heard me say this before.
The odds of you having a good dealer near you are slim and none.
Yeah.
Slim and none.
I know.
Thank you.
You might get lucky.
Thank you for beating me up on that.
I love this call.
I love this call.
Yeah.
All right.
Kevin, Kevin Jackson is my man at Toyota or Katie.
Kevin's a great guy.
You will love him.
No games.
Now, in defense of the dealer that you visited, the dealers cannot control their own websites.
Toyota does that.
It's stupid.
I've bitched about it for years because the dealers not only, what frustrates them is
what shows on the website is not accurate.
They've got cars on the ground that are not on the website.
They've got vehicles that are not in yet that are sitting on the website like they were sitting
on the ground and they're not.
You know, it's just that Toyota sets the prices online.
The dealer doesn't.
That's why you can't go by a Toyota dealer's website.
You got to go to the dealer and you got to sit down with him.
You got to talk to him.
Kevin Jackson, he's my man.
You'll love him to death.
He's he's been a he was a listener of mine way before they ever got on the show.
He's just a great guy.
Trust me on this.
You'll you'll have a blast.
I promise you I'll give him a call.
All right, brother.
You take care of my next call.
Happy New Year.
Thanks a lot.
You're y'all y'all have a good one.
Happy New Year.
Hey, thanks buddy.
Love it.
Texas we go.
Leland, Leland, what can I do for you?
Hi, Jerry.
Thanks for taking the call.
It's a pleasure.
Happy New Year to you guys.
You too.
Listen, we've been thinking about switching vehicles for a few months and we have a requirement.
We've got to have the right size.
We can't have one too high and we sure won't want one too low to the ground.
Yeah.
It's a mobility factor they're involved.
And we've picked up something that we see driving by.
We go across the next lane and see if they're about the right height.
And Subaru Ascend is looking about right and we'd like to look at it.
We'd like to review and what you think of it and and the ride and their ability and all.
It's it's good.
Subaru has a good name.
Oh, it's it's got everything.
This hasn't been a big seller for Subaru, which surprised me a little bit.
Because I always thought that when they came out with a three row SUV that it would be a huge hit.
Now, they had a three row back, I don't know, 10 years ago, 12 years ago.
But the third row was totally useless.
So it never sold.
They did away with it.
They came out with the ascent.
I've reviewed it twice.
I've liked it both times.
It's got everything that made Subaru famous from the symmetrical all wheel drive to the eyesight system.
You know, they price it right.
If you're looking for a luxury type SUV, this probably isn't it.
They're Subaru is not in that they do no frills.
I mean, there there's more to brag about on a Subaru that you can't see than things that you can't see.
So, OK, it's not good.
What do you what are you what are you guys driving right now?
Bods, a minivan, caravan.
OK, well, then you're going to be fine.
You're not I was afraid you were coming out of a Lexus or Mercedes or something.
Because it might be a disappointment because it's not it's not a luxurious SUV.
It's a damn good one.
It's great gas mileage, super safe, super safe.
And, you know, it'll run you 200 to 250,000 miles most likely if you do the maintenance.
I got nothing but good to say about it.
Other than always when somebody asked me about this one, I always.
I don't want their expectations to be that they're going to get a Lincoln or a Cadillac
or a Lexus or it's just OK.
It's just basic.
It's basic.
It's nice, but it's just basic.
OK, get the different tanks on it like some of the amenities, maybe a power seat.
Absolutely going to have all that.
You can take it.
You can take it up with big moon roofs and navigation and anything you want.
It's just you're not going to get you're not going to get the fancy materials in the seat.
You're not going to get the real wood on the dash, you know, that sort of stuff.
But you're going to get a great SUV and it's actually quite roomy.
So I think it's good if you don't have any luck there in Lubbock.
Because I don't know the Subaru dealers in Lubbock, but I can tell you that I have a lot
of people from Lubbock come to Dallas for Subaru's.
That tells me that tells me something.
And if you need to now, maybe you can go get a great deal.
But if you need to come to Dallas, five star Subaru.
In great vine right by the airport, the FW airport.
Well, Tony Humon is the GM.
He's been a friend of mine for 30 years.
He'll take amazing care of you and cut you a really good deal.
If you want, if you find out, if you go locally and drive one, you find out it's what the one
y'all want and you want him to ship it to you in Lubbock, he can do that for probably 300 bucks,
maybe a little less, and you'll still save boo-coos of money.
So there at my website, carpro.com.
Up at the top, click on the button that says find a car pro certified dealer near you.
Put your zip code in there.
He'll be the one to pull up because he's on the west side of Dallas.
When to trade your cars a crucial decision.
Get expert advice from Jerry Reynolds, the car pro at 1-800-926-7777.
Next up on the car pro show, it's line two, Sharon and Houston.
You're on with Jerry Reynolds.
Hi, Sharon.
What can I do for you?
Hi, Jerry.
Hi, Jerry.
How are you today?
I'm good, kiddo.
What can I help you with?
Listen, I have a two-part question and the first part I've fortunately inherited some money and
I've been wanting to get a brand new SUV, hybrid two-row SUV, and because I value your opinion
and expertise so much, I would like to know what would you consider as one of the best
hybrid two-row SUVs on the market?
Well, it's going to be a Toyota product and it's going to be either the RAV4
or the Lexus NX, depending on budget.
They're about the same size.
The Rumi two-row SUVs.
And when I say Rumi, I'm talking about the difference, you know, that from
if somebody's sitting in the second row, there's plenty of legroom in both those vehicles from
the front row.
Some mid-sized to smaller SUVs are not that way, but these two are very good about that.
So, you know, they're a hybrid system and I'm really paying attention to Hyundai
because they're getting big into hybrids and I think they're probably going to be fine.
But we've got 25 years of history with Toyota's hybrids and I know how good they are.
And so when somebody asks me about a hybrid, I'm going to lean to a Toyota or Lexus every time.
Okay, I value your opinion.
My second part of my question is I know that the best time to buy is the end of the year and I just
missed that.
What is the next best time of the year to buy in 26?
You didn't miss the incentives, which is the big thing.
They still run through Monday.
If you got time to do something between now and Monday.
Okay.
Okay.
Now let me ask and I've got I've got four really good Toyota dealers in Houston in the area
and they're spread out kind of nicely.
So if you go to carpro.com, click at the top, there's a green button.
Find a car pro dealer near me, put your zip code in there, choose Toyota.
It'll pull up the one of the four that's closest to you.
Now,
perfect.
If for some reason you just don't feel like you can do something between now and Monday night,
then typically the next biggest time of the year is going to be around Memorial Day.
When you're looking when you're thinking Toyota, one clue that you'll always be able to rely on
is Toyota's best deals are any time that you see Jan on TV.
Who?
Jan, Jan, you know, everybody knows Jan.
She's been doing this for 20 years for God's sakes.
And she's like the GMC dog.
She doesn't age.
Never ages.
Never ages.
So when you see her there and I'm being serious about that.
When you see her, they're in an event and they only have four of them a year.
The one that they'll have in March, I haven't found to have as good incentives as they do the one in May.
But that things change every year.
So if you want to, if you don't make it by Monday night and you want to wait,
let's talk again in March and I'll tell you what the outlook is then.
And I may tell you to wait till May.
I may tell you, hey, these March incentives are great.
But those are your best times a year besides the end of the year.
Well, Jerry, if I could wait till the end of the year, would it be worse?
Because I'm not in a hurry.
I can't wait.
No, not with those two vehicles.
You're talking about at most a $500 difference at most.
Now, if you're leasing, that's a different story.
December lease deals are absolutely amazing.
But if you're buying, I wouldn't wait.
I'd get on in there and get something done.
Buying versus leasing is the decision for a lot of people.
Find out what suits you.
Call the car pro show at 1-800-926-7777 Johnny and San Antonio.
This is a short break.
So jump right in so I can help you.
Hello.
Yeah, Johnny, what can I do for you?
I was telling you, this is a short break.
So let's jump right in.
Okay.
Let me make it real quick.
I'm looking for a new car.
I was looking at the BMW X4, the Audi Q5, and I don't like the Mercedes GLC.
So I got sort of boxed in because the Q, I guess the X4 is no longer produced.
Right.
I don't like the, I don't like the GLC.
I don't know why and I'm not sure about Audi.
But then I noticed a new car that's supposed to come out from Infiniti called the QX65.
Yeah.
And I'm wondering about that and whether or not Infiniti
is still a strong company.
I read somewhere that they were in financial trouble and I'm just not sure what that would mean.
They're not going anywhere.
I mean, the parent company Nissan has had their struggles because of the poor actions of a CEO
that's gone, but they're not going anywhere.
And the QX55 and QX60 are going away.
We know that.
In fact, they're on the list of cars in next week's newsletter that are being killed off in 2026.
The QX65 is not out yet, so I haven't had it.
My gut is it's going to be really nice if they're getting rid of two vehicles to replace it with one.
Yeah, I mean, that's they're expecting this to be a seller.
So that's good.
But I will tell you this, I absolutely love the Audi Q5.
I almost got one myself.
I got a GLE instead.
But the QX55 is a wonderful SUV and a great interior, great quality,
really good ride and drive.
So if it from your list, that's the safe bet right now.
Happy New Year, my friend.
