01:43
Andrei, this is the craziest thing I have seen here at the Overland Expo. We have an Acti
01:54
on top of an electric dirt bike, on top of an Acti, on top of an F450. If that is off the hook,
02:01
I don't know what is. It's a turducken of sorts. This is an overlanding turducken.
02:07
Guys, welcome to the Overland Expo here in Denver and Andrei and I are doing a walk around.
02:11
So if you're listening to this as a podcast, you can head over to TFL Talk and watch it,
02:16
or you can just enjoy the description as we walk around and show you the craziest things.
02:20
So I don't know who thought of kind of creating this Matushka doll. Is that what you call it?
02:25
Yeah, Matushka, a lot of nesting doll. Yeah, this is wonderful. Yeah, this is
02:30
Mountain West Overland Expo and we're going to show you some of the coolest stuff, right?
02:35
We're not going to show you the worst stuff. Only the coolest. Is this your doing?
02:40
The K truck is my doing, yes. The Ford is not my doing.
02:44
So who got the idea to kind of stack these overlanding rigs on top of each other?
02:49
I've wanted an Acti for the longest time and then my buddy bought the 450 and said,
02:53
hey, you should buy one now so we can put it on top of the diamond back cover
02:57
for Overland Expo. So we did it, drove it up there. It was sketchy, but it looks cool.
03:02
You drove this on the highway? Yeah, Mike drove it on the highway
03:06
from Denver all the way up here, the way that it sits right now.
03:09
Even with a little bit like the little model Acti on the motorcycle?
03:12
That we just put up there, but the bike was up there, posted a bunch of videos of it.
03:15
Yeah. So have you ever taken this actually off-road?
03:19
The Acti is new to me. I've been restoring it for the past couple months now. I've taken it
03:24
through like rampart range and things like that. It's the Acti attack, so it's got
03:31
ultra low first, reverse, it's got a rear locker, so it can go off-road.
03:36
I didn't know there was an Acti attack, so they made an off-road one because we have one,
03:39
but it's just a standard 4x4, which isn't great because it doesn't have a low range.
03:43
Yeah, the low range is good to help getting it up the big ramps to get it onto the cover.
03:48
It makes parts a little bit more difficult to find. It's got different rear CVs and everything,
03:53
but it's a cool kind of rare model of it. Where'd you find it?
03:57
I found it, well, not locally. I found it in Salt Lake City actually,
04:01
just on Marketplace, so it was already imported, brought it in, and then I just kind of
04:05
touched up the paint, redid the interior a little bit, and this is kind of how it sat
04:10
when it was in Japan for most of its life. Yeah, the problem of course here in Colorado,
04:13
we can't at least not yet register them. Yeah, I think it goes, you guys made a good video on it.
04:18
I think next July is when you can register them legally. Yeah, I'm looking forward to it,
04:22
so we can actually take it on the road, but I gotta say, I'm a little bit taller than you are.
04:26
I don't actually fit in the thing. Yeah, I'm pushing it. I'm only like five, nine, five,
04:30
ten. Whenever I drive the Acti, my knees hit the blinkers and the windshield wipers are always
04:38
going off. My knee hits the window crank. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, so they're crazy little things,
04:48
but in terms of payload and utility, it might have more payload than 450.
04:55
It's pretty practical. A lot of people overlook them, but now that we can actually
05:00
get them here after the 25-year rule, it's rat. I love it. Well, awesome. Good job. Thank you.
05:06
All right, take it easy. Thank you guys. All right, guys, so I'm going to take the camera,
05:10
Andre, and you can be on camera, and let's go find something else that's cool here. Now,
05:16
we're kind of here for the, what, the third year in a row now? Yeah, well, we started
05:20
whenever they started the show. We were here, of course, and we're still here, but the show
05:26
really started in Flagstaff, Arizona, right? So, and then they kind of expanded, and this is our
05:32
home show in Loveland, Colorado. So this is really awesome. Yeah, it's a great place to get not
05:38
just the lay of the land for overlanding, but just for basic off-roading because you see a lot
05:44
of, hey, built up here. Yes, yes. Hey, good to see you again. We met in Detroit. Yes, we did.
05:52
At the Ford Maverick event, right? Yes, it was. Yes. Well, he's got the Midnight Maverick shirt.
05:56
Yes, yes. We'll see you around. We're just doing a walk around. No, I understand. Thank you.
06:03
Thank you. We have a lot of fans here. It's really nice to be among the people, Andre.
06:08
Yes. Among our people. Yes. So, like I was saying, what's really cool here is it's not just
06:12
about overlanding, but it's about off-roading. So you've got everything from built out to the
06:17
Land Cruisers. There's a Jeep for sale right there. Yeah, our friends at John's, right? 4x4.
06:23
John's 4x4 Gladiator. You know, really built up on some gigantic tires. I'm saying that needs a
06:28
392 under the hood, dude. Yeah, probably. When you're rolling on tires that big,
06:33
it definitely needs a 392. And so it's a really kind of interesting place to come,
06:38
to kind of find out where and what the trends are. And as we walk around here,
06:42
we should kind of look for trends as well, seeing what's popular and what people are doing,
06:46
because this is where it all kind of starts. I used to walk around some of the car shows.
06:52
So, I want to show you one trend, okay, Roman? Yeah, let's hear it. So, flatbeds, tray beds,
06:57
all right? Our Australian friends call this kind of trays. And I think they're becoming more
07:03
and more popular in the United States. So here we have a Jeep Gladiator, which is a mid-sized
07:08
truck, one of the longest ones, with kind of a little box. And look at this, there's a Tacoma.
07:14
There's a Tacoma here, with also this kind of flatbed. It's got storage boxes on the bottom,
07:21
and a lot of storage on top as well. And the red arc system underneath. I think what the
07:28
tray bed gets you is kind of the ability to do whatever you want, right? When you lose the
07:34
sides of the bed, then it opens up. Oh yeah, more width, right? Yeah, like you said, more options.
07:40
You could remove this top box if you didn't want to. You could put something on it. It's also longer
07:44
than it would be otherwise, right? My only question when they do this is, does it change
07:50
the payload of the truck? It feels like you're kind of exceeding the payload here. Well,
07:55
but most of these trucks have different springs, shocks, tires. You know, some of these vehicles
08:02
that we see here are really modified. So it's up to the builder, right? You know, they need to know
08:07
what exactly what they're doing and exactly what type of payload. I'm going to play devil's advocate.
08:12
I'm going to say that there's more to payload than just springs and shocks. There's also like
08:17
half shafts. There's also transmissions. How about the radiators? Yeah, exactly. You know,
08:22
if you overload it and the engine can't cool itself, you know, that's really important
08:26
as well, right? Yeah. So I think you're kind of running the risk of potentially
08:32
overloading a vehicle that's not designed to it. Hey, look who I see. Our friends that
08:36
Ryder just is. Yeah. So we go say hi to Tommy. They're doing their podcast. If you guys have
08:41
been watching TFL Talk or have even listened to our podcast, you know that Tommy and the team
08:48
are doing this podcast called Carish. Yeah, which is my favorite podcast, by the way.
08:53
I really don't listen to TFL Talking Trucks. I listen to Carish only. And they're recording it live
09:00
today from the Overland Expo. In the wind. In the wind. Yeah, we've had a lot of heat now. It's
09:05
all of a sudden cool down. So let's go say hi to these guys. Hi, guys. Hey, guys. Oh, look,
09:11
it's the stars of Carish on TFL Talking Trucks. Say hi. Yes. Those guys are famous. That's
09:19
Roman and Andre. Can you sign that autograph for me? We'll trade autographs. So we got to say hi to
09:26
Scott because he's the man making this popular. So this is Scott O'Sullivan. Good to see you, Roman.
09:34
So we have multiple podcasts. Hello, Scott. We're one podcast recording another podcast. Yeah,
09:42
so Scott's the single reason our company is still in business. I'm pretty sure of it.
09:47
But he does an awesome job over at Rider Justice. So he's got a booth here at the Overland Expo.
09:52
Yeah, here we are. We're also sponsoring the Moto Party tonight and proceeds from that go to the
09:57
Moto Relief Project, which helps veteran riders get their lives back together and it's amazing.
10:02
So like if there's anything good happening in the community, I guarantee Scott's involved with
10:06
it. If it involves two wheels. Yeah, that is our goal. We love the community. We love
10:10
all things, motorcycle, all things, overlanding, cars, everything. Yeah, yeah. And Scott,
10:15
what's cool about Scott is he's kind of like a legend I'm figuring out in this community because
10:20
like Scott's got a booth here and there's no cars involved in this booth and people are
10:24
coming up and are like, Scott, man. So like, you're doing something cool, man.
10:28
We try our best. We love the community. And I think the thing that's interesting about the
10:31
overlanding community, it's just about the same as the motorcycle community, meaning it's like
10:37
not many people get together for cars, not many people get together for jeeps. That's
10:40
a whole different animal, right? But the overlanding, it's definitely that community.
10:43
It's super fun. It's a lot like the moto community and I just love it. It's like a family basically,
10:48
right? It's a family. Yeah, it's a good way to everybody just geeks out,
10:50
whether you're geeking out on and it's just awesome. Yeah, yeah, very cool.
10:54
What's the coolest thing you've seen here? Anything really cool we have to see? Do you
10:57
have a million dollars? I do not. You know what the coolest thing here is? Isn't that the
11:01
Bear Naked Ladies song? We just bought a Royal Enfield. Yeah, that's a good bike. Yeah,
11:07
which one did you do? Which one did we get? The Royal Enfield. Himalayan. Himalayan, yeah.
11:12
And for budget minded people, you can't get better. Yeah, I mean those are great bikes and
11:18
they're super fun and like I said, they're affordable. And they get good fuel economy,
11:22
if you care about that. All right, we'll keep going and let you guys record. All right,
11:25
check out the Carish podcast, Scott's special guesting. Yes, yeah. All right,
11:29
if I can answer any questions, I won't do better than Case. See you guys.
11:34
Can you take this for a second? I've got a suntan lotion in my eyes, Andre.
11:37
Okay. Roman, while you get your suntan lotion out, I want to look at that Tacoma because
11:45
oh my goodness, it's insane. It looks like a pre-runner. Hey, you're missing all the bikes.
11:51
No, I was doing a very clever bridge talking about motorcycles. I don't know anything about
11:58
motorcycles. And you were like, you know, scroll, scroll. Look at that. It's a monster
12:02
truck. Look at this. It's a Tacoma in the 40s. Turn left for a second. This is for all you guys
12:07
who do overlanding the right way. And by right way, I mean, of course, on a motorcycle,
12:13
because let's face it, Andre, when you're overlanding on a motorcycle,
12:16
you smell all of the environment. You're super lightweight because, well, you have to be.
12:22
And this is, you know, the most fun and I think the most rewarding way to go overlanding.
12:29
And yeah, it's just so fun. Well, Roman, I would wager a bicycle is more rewarding.
12:35
I would wager you're not going to get very far on a bicycle. Yes, but you're moving slower than a
12:40
motorcycle. And also you're surrounded by more environment even. Yeah. Well, if you're going
12:47
to get on that route when we were going down from Dead Horse to Fairbanks, who's a guy on a
12:52
unicycle. So that's even more engaging. Well, that's really frightening. And even
12:57
you actually get off road tires on a unicycle, believe it or not. That's really frightening.
13:01
All right, let's show this master truck. Yeah, it's really cool. Let me see.
13:06
So these are 40s. Wow. Pretty cool Tacoma. Pretty cool, guys.
13:13
Mountain Yodas, Tom. Yes. How much of a lift? I don't know the exact measurements.
13:20
It's probably many, many feet. Many feet. I'm Roman, by the way. Hi, Roman.
13:25
Brian with Turn 14 Distribution. Nice to meet you. Nice to meet you guys.
13:28
Yeah. So we're doing a little quick podcast. We're doing a walk around and we're kind of
13:32
picking out the coolest stuff. And this lifted taco is pretty darn cool.
13:36
Yeah, it's got outfitted with camberg billet arms. It's got goat suspension,
13:41
which is actually Mountain Yodas house brand, full coil overs with reservoirs.
13:46
It's got portal axles, big brake kit, pro charge, all the good stuff that you
13:50
want on a Tacoma. So you put a supercharger on it. Yep.
13:53
I was wondering if you, like, L-swapped it because that's a lot of tire to turn.
13:56
Yeah, a lot of tire. There's a lot of armor and stuff on here, so you definitely need that extra oomph.
14:01
What does it sound like with a supercharger? Sounds excellent. It's also got the Magnaflow
14:05
Overland Series exhaust system, so it really opens it up. Yeah, it's just a fun rig.
14:11
Well, thank you for showing it to us. It's definitely one of the coolest rigs here.
14:13
Appreciate it. Be sure to check out the Mountain Yodas booth. They're over here
14:16
by the merchandise. They have, I think, like, five to six different vehicles and
14:19
all kinds of good Toyota stuff. That's awesome. Thank you.
14:21
We'll head over there now. Thank you. All right. Appreciate it. Thank you.
14:24
Thank you. Look at this. So you were talking about
14:28
kind of chassis cab. Yeah, there's another one right there on that Orange Tacoma.
14:32
Yes, and the Tacoma we just looked at was the previous generation, and now this kind of
14:38
an orange one that we're walking towards is the latest, latest gen. So there's a little bit
14:44
of everything. And Roman, also, you know how Scott said, do you have a million dollars?
14:48
Yes. You don't have to have a million dollars either. I mean, you can if you want to, but
14:53
even if you have lower budgets, there's a little bit for everybody here.
14:57
Well, here's the thing, Andrei. As you know, I just came back from Pebble Beach.
15:02
Yes. And there you have to have a million dollars. Toidy, toidy.
15:06
There you have to have a million dollars just to kind of feel like you're part of
15:12
natural environment. Here you don't. No, you can take an old XJ and convert it into
15:16
something that's more off-roady. Yeah, well, this Tacoma is probably not
15:23
super, super affordable, but it's very nice. Very well done.
15:26
Is that the rooftop tent? It's got racks. Yeah, it's really well done.
15:30
Look at this tundra. It's way up in the air. I know. I'm not a huge fan of
15:34
tires that stick that far out beyond the body. Yeah, well, because you need,
15:38
you know, fenders, fender flares or mudflaps. I think you drive that in the
15:41
rain. You're going to blind people. Yes. But this seems to be very much a Toyota-centric
15:47
part of the show. Well, you know, Toyota is huge in this community. I mean, they've been,
15:52
they've been in this community nonstop over decades and decades and decades and it kind
15:56
of shows. But now other manufacturers, including Nissan and GMC and Lexus and Ram and Jeep,
16:03
they're all entering the game as well as far as overland is concerned.
16:07
This is another trend that we're seeing here. And it's exemplified by this rooftop tent,
16:12
that rooftop tent, and that one over there. With solar. Yeah, with solar.
16:17
So rooftop tents have gotten big, Andre. Yes. They've become party tents. I mean,
16:21
look at the size of this thing. You can get like, you can get like a small
16:25
Boy Scout camp in there. It'd be comfortable. Exactly. So like, some of them open,
16:30
like a book, some of them open just like an accordion. Some of them are triangular,
16:34
wedge style. I mean, there's so many different styles. But once upon a time,
16:39
you could only maybe get two people in there. Yeah. Now, you know, like I said,
16:43
they're just getting much more massive. I'm guessing the next iteration of rooftop tent
16:50
is going to be comfort.
16:54

17:21
So should we look at the pebble here? Yeah, you know, I haven't seen inside of this pebble.
17:25
So pebble is a camping trailer, which is electrically powered. Yeah.
17:29
As well. So this could be quite interesting. Maybe we could peek in. Could be the next
17:37
Airstream. Maybe the next trend. Not the current trend, right? But maybe within five years,
17:43
we'll be seeing a lot more trailers with actually driven wheels, right?
17:47
Because a lot of off-road always say if you're pulling a small trailer behind you, off-road,
17:54
it's like an anchor, right? You're pulling an anchor across. But if that trailer actually
17:58
powered you along, it could be a really big deal. And can you like, like with a world control, park
18:03
this without actually having a vehicle? I think that's the idea. Do you want to peek in there?
18:11
Yeah, I'll take a peek. I'll kind of show a peek inside here.
18:18
It's very cozy in there. It is very cozy. Oh, let me show up here. Okay.
18:23
So there's a little dinette in the front of this. There's windows.
18:30
I love kind of very modern, a large space right there for a sinker to shower.
18:35
Yeah, I don't know if I like to shower in front of a big window.
18:39
Well, I'm sure maybe you could like snap your fingers and a little go opaque.
18:42
And close this. Yeah. Or maybe you're very high tech.
18:46
Or maybe you're going to be the most popular camper at the campsite, you know?
18:51
Right. Let's swing over here. Let's go left.
18:54
Or if it's me taking a shower, the least popular camper.
18:58
Be like, Roman, doesn't that turn opaque? I'm like, no.
19:02
I need to poke my eyes out. All right. Let's keep going. So we got more to this.
19:08
Oh, look at this. Somebody, this is the thing. And we should go look at that.
19:11
A Chrysler actually is a major manufacturer. Chrysler is here.
19:14
Yes. Apparently people are using Pacificas.
19:16
And they're lifting them. And they're lifting.
19:18
Well, this is not a lifted one.
19:19
You know where the Chrysler one is?
19:21
Yes. I'll take you there shortly. But first, I want to go this way.
19:24
And then we'll end up at Chrysler. Okay.
19:26
Yeah. Let's tease it.
19:29
So if you want to see an off-road Pacifica.
19:31
And you know what else I love about Colorado, Roman?
19:34
I mean, of course, I've lived here for 33 years.
19:36
But we have so many local companies like Moonlander.
19:39
We've worked with them. We've seen many campers that they built.
19:43
They're all aluminum. Very well made.
19:46
And they're made right here in Colorado.
19:48
Yeah. I think people who are into the outdoors come to Colorado.
19:52
Yeah. Look at this.
19:53
So it makes sense that eventually they want to not just experience the outdoors,
19:58
but then, you know, get involved in the field of out-doring.
20:02
Is that a word? Out-doring, Andre?
20:05
You're setting a new trend, Roman.
20:07
You're always setting trends.
20:09
From now on, it's not overlanding. It's out-doring.
20:13
Sounds like a door company with a door that swings out, doesn't it?
20:16
Oh, let's check out Juniper.
20:17
Are our friends at Juniper?
20:19
Yeah, we've worked with them in the past.
20:22
Once again, another local company.
20:25
A quartermaster, Andre.
20:27
Quartermaster with a tray bed.
20:29
What are the chances?
20:31
You know, this is one of the few trucks that's subject to the chicken tax.
20:36
It is built in France, right?
20:39
Right across the border from Germany.
20:40
So that's why the Ineos Grenadier is so much less expensive
20:43
than the quartermaster because this gets this with the chicken tax.
20:45
But can you zoom in on this?
20:46
Yes, whatever you want.
20:47
So our friend Jay Couch.
20:50
So Dirtbox Overland products.
20:53
So he built racks and tents and beds and a lot of different accessories.
21:00
He's also a local company here in Colorado.
21:03
Maybe that's why I've heard from him
21:04
because he's too busy building out quartermasters.
21:07
And his brand is Dirtbox.
21:10
So maybe we'll see Jay in a few minutes later.
21:15
I kind of feel like these kind of...
21:22
Sprinter vans that are built out are kind of old.
21:25
I think it's kind of a trend that's coming on, right?
21:28
They've been around for a long time.
21:30
For a long time, like Storyteller,
21:31
everybody was doing these converted Sprinter vans.
21:36
But they're expensive, Andre.
21:38
You know how expensive some of these guys are?
21:40
These can be $200,000, which seems like a lot.
21:43
Even though it's beautiful.
21:43
I mean, look at all the wood.
21:44
Oh my God, this one is very well done.
21:47
And look at the little configurations.
21:49
You can have different settings for beds, bunk beds, couch, office, anything you want.
21:55
Why do they have like these women with their...
21:58
Well, if you're watching this.
22:00
Those are computer generated images from rendering.
22:03
These two guys are spilling each other.
22:05
Well, kind of, yes.
22:07
I think it's a little weird.
22:08
So he's sleeping while he's on the computer.
22:14
Well, somebody has to rest.
22:15
And over here, he's sleeping while the motorcycle is resting underneath.
22:19
So it's very configurable.
22:21
I was going to say, Roman, whenever you're picking something like this, right?
22:25
When a van versus a trailer.
22:27
A trailer, you could set up as your base camp and then you leave, right?
22:31
In a van, you have to bring it with you because it's your vehicle.
22:36
Here's before I mentioned Grenadier.
22:38
These are now like $75,000, $80,000.
22:41
But I'm starting to see them resale for like $60,000.
22:44
So I'm wondering where the bottom of the market is.
22:47
So if you wanted to Grenadier and you couldn't get one because they were only being sold new,
22:52
now they're starting to hit the used market and they're actually becoming a little bit
22:55
affordable, which is a good thing because I think at some point that BMW straight six
23:01
is under the hood is going to be one of the most iconic power trains out there
23:05
because that's the same engine that's in the Supra, of course.
23:09
So just really briefly, let's say hello to our friends at Juniper Overland.
23:12
They're also Colorado based.
23:14
And remember we brought our Cummins to them?
23:17
And before that they were working on smaller vehicles like Toyota Tacomas.
23:21
Now everybody's building Cummins trucks.
23:24
And this one has a scout camper on the bed.
23:28
Come on, come on, come in.
23:29
I'm coming, I'm following you.
23:34
Yeah, you can check out scout campers here.
23:38
Yeah, they're tall, it's a pop-up.
23:40
So it's got a lot of room in there.
23:42
I'm always impressed.
23:43
So look at this scout.
23:44
And now this bed, this tray bed, basically kind of custom storage bed is Bowen.
23:51
Yeah, also Colorado company.
23:52
Why don't you jump in there and show them how much room is in there?
23:55
Because this thing is massive.
23:58
I bet you're 6'4", right?
24:01
You could probably stand up straight in there.
24:03
Look at this, Robin.
24:04
Look at that, you're comfy.
24:06
It's really huge in here.
24:08
Let me take the camera really quick.
24:10
Yeah, give them kind of a tour.
24:12
So different storage solutions.
24:15
By the way, this is a solid side at the camper.
24:19
So this is not a pop-up that you go up and down.
24:22
And it's easier to set up.
24:24
You don't have to finagle with any parts.
24:28
Here's a little shower water system, a little cooktop, a fridge.
24:35
So everything is very modular, Robin.
24:37
I'm noticing everything is very modular.
24:38
You know, it's really cool.
24:40
You know, when you're kind of setting up and you don't have a flat area.
24:46
It's a little, we're looking at what is a little kind of air cushion.
24:51
Looks like a little round pillow that you can blow up and then underneath your tires.
24:56
Underneath your tires so that you've got a flat place to sleep.
24:58
Because there's nothing worse than being one of these things.
25:00
I think having to roll over to one side because you don't have it set up right.
25:03
I want to say hi to Josh really quick.
25:05
Hi, go say hi to Josh.
25:08
Good to see you, buddy.
25:10
I just want to say hello to you.
25:11
You're on our podcast.
25:12
So we really always appreciate what you guys are doing.
25:15
We appreciate you guys, man.
25:16
You should help me use your one here.
25:21
So I remember, because you helped us build out our Ram.
25:25
Remember, was that your first Ram truck or you haven't done many before?
25:29
We've done a handful of them.
25:31
But no, look, all Rams.
25:33
All Rams all the time.
25:33
No, I'm just kidding.
25:34
All Rams all the time.
25:37
How's, how are things going?
25:39
We're, we're having a very busy year.
25:41
Yeah, we're cranking along.
25:42
So just building as many rigs as we can for people and.
25:46
Can I bring my Russian bread loaf to you to work on?
25:49
I think, I know we talked about it briefly.
25:53
So I have a transmission problem right now.
25:55
It's not driving really well.
25:57
But, but maybe, you know, in the future, I may need some help from you.
26:02
Because you're the expert.
26:03
I'm going to take this back, Josh.
26:04
Thank you very much.
26:05
Andre, stop begging for help.
26:09
I'm not begging for help.
26:10
You're on camera here.
26:11
Are you using the popularity of TFL to get your, your, your, your, uh,
26:17
This man is like a wiring wizard.
26:19
He can wire anything at any time for any reason.
26:22
You want to wire some Russian, uh, Russian?
26:30
I'm just giving you a hard time, Andre.
26:32
Yeah, thanks a lot.
26:35
So Roman, I think we need to turn around soon.
26:38
And walk the other way.
26:39
But, but I haven't seen this row yet.
26:41
Let's go look, see what's here.
26:43
You know what I'm also seeing?
26:44
This might be another trend.
26:46
And it's exemplified right by what's in front of us.
26:49
And if you look, there's an F250 and X2.
26:52
It is a Duramax GMC, I believe, AT4X.
26:55
I'm seeing a lot more heavy duty trucks than I have in the past, right?
26:59
In the past it was Tacomas and it was Rangers.
27:03
But now, now this is America, gosh darn it.
27:10
I think there's a reason for this, Roman, because when you want to bring
27:13
more gear, heavier things, you want, you need bigger trucks.
27:17
You need bigger, more capable vehicles.
27:19
Look, that's why we got our GG, right, our old Army truck.
27:24
Because in a world of, you know, 2500 and 3,500, 4,500,
27:30
a military truck on 4,600 still stands out.
27:32
And I don't see anything.
27:33
I think if we brought our truck here, people would be...
27:36
It may have been one of the bigger trucks here.
27:38
People may have been in all of them.
27:39
But speaking of smaller trucks, Andre, I actually see a Maverick up there.
27:43
Yeah, let's go get a Maverick.
27:45
I don't believe it.
27:46
Somebody's actually, you think somebody's overlanding in a Maverick?
27:48
I bet you somebody's overlanding in a Maverick.
27:50
I'm sorry, outdoorsing.
27:54
By the way, Roman, it's really windy today here.
27:57
But it's just kind of a testament to that all these people,
28:01
you know, you have to be in the elements, right?
28:03
All your awnings, all your tents, all of your gear must survive any condition.
28:09
Yeah, the problem is I don't survive these conditions because I have horrible
28:12
Oh, no, Roman, come on.
28:13
That's a whole difference.
28:14
So, like, somebody has actually built a, look, I love the Steelies.
28:19
And I love the fact that somebody is using a Maverick to go and explore the Great White.
28:25
Look, it's a Maverick Raptor.
28:26
Look, it says Ford with amber lights in the front.
28:30
So, if you're listening to this, what we're looking at is a Ford Maverick in blue,
28:33
where somebody's actually looks like built the custom bumper port.
28:36
What size tires are those?
28:37
So, these are a Light Truck LT24575R17.
28:43
So, the wheel is a 17.
28:45
And I'm guessing this is like a 3132.
28:48
Yeah, this is really nice.
28:49
I think that they cut out, they cut it because, look, you've got these
28:53
plastic fender flares, so it must have cut it.
28:56
There might have been a tiny bit of rubbing they had to fix there,
29:00
and a little bit of rubbing there, but it's very attractive, very good looking.
29:04
No, it's to the business end.
29:05
So, we've got this rooftop tent, which is actually very big.
29:09
Put on it in the back.
29:11
So, it's got a little topper camper with a tent, a hitch, and very capable,
29:18
and it's from Nevada, which makes a lot of sense, right?
29:21
And next to it, of course, is a Raptor Bronco, which lets faces be much better off-road.
29:26
Which is factory built, right?
29:27
Not updated or modified.
29:30
So, for me, I suppose I'd go with the Bronco Raptor, just because I get a lot further.
29:37
Good lot further, even though the Maverick is an FX4.
29:42
All right, do you want to swing this way?
29:45
Yeah, let's swing this way.
29:48
We saw our, here's a, we're looking at what is, you know,
29:52
whatever you see, these campers that you pull, and they're black or gray,
29:58
you know they're off-roading, because every time I see a black one,
30:01
remember the black series?
30:02
And you always look at the tires, and they're always knobby,
30:05
and so, you know, these are built to go.
30:07
Yeah, so this brand is called Paws, so kind of lifted up trailers, very heavy duty.
30:13
Well, and you've got Max Tracks or Max Track Knack-offs, so you know it's serious.
30:17
And also, there's another brand, MDC USA,
30:20
which is a trailer that we've used before, right?
30:23
From ROA Off-Road, RVs of America Off-Road.
30:26
And I think RVs of America Off-Road also work with Paws, Paws campers as well.
30:33
The thing about these Off-Road campers is, unlike a beam trailer, you know?
30:38
You need a pretty big rig at all.
30:40
Exactly, because they could weigh between three, four, five,
30:43
maybe even 7,000 pounds, right?
30:45
So you need a bigger vehicle.
30:46
Something like this.
30:48
Now that's a big rig.
30:50
Yeah, we're looking at all these big ass trucks.
30:52
Look at this thing.
30:54
Big, big giant fenders.
30:58
I think AEV started something.
31:00
So if we go this way, GMC is here, but they have kind of a smaller booth this year.
31:05
Yeah, they've kind of downsized.
31:08
But they do have their Sierra EV 84, which is the first iteration of their electric off-roader.
31:15
So they have their Sierra 84 right there.
31:19
I think if I were GMC, I'd put like a rooftop tent or something more on it.
31:23
At least last year, they had like, I think they had the Hummer EV, right?
31:27
That was kind of done.
31:28
Yeah, it was like, it had a big camper in the back of it, right?
31:32
Yeah, it was kind of done for out-douring.
31:35
That's a new word I'm trying to coin here.
31:38
This one is more just a regular.
31:40
But they're also kind of showing, you know, GM energy is basically home solutions
31:45
where your vehicle, electric vehicle can also power the house.
31:49
That's going to be everything very soon.
31:51
The next generation is going to be all, I think it's called vehicle to load.
31:55
Is that right, Andre?
31:56
So here, here they have one that's kind of built out with a rooftop tent on it.
32:00
Yeah, this is a nice Sierra 84X, traditional combustion truck, right?
32:05
I can really love our Canyon 84X.
32:08
I would change one thing.
32:10
I would remove this, these steps.
32:11
That's going to get hung up on the first tall rock.
32:14
We're looking at side steps now, guys, that are just way too big.
32:19
I think those steps have to go, yeah.
32:22
But look, somebody brought a big truck.
32:24
That is a big truck.
32:25
We're looking at Nasella chassis, which has started life as a Stuart and Stevenson giant military truck.
32:32
This is a very European way to go overlanding, right?
32:34
This is the kind of thing you see cruising across the Sahara where you've got these giant trucks.
32:38
Is that that Unimog vise?
32:42
Yeah, basically they're box trucks, right?
32:43
It's a big old box that's built on top of a, looks like a man, right?
32:48
Square, square in the face.
32:50
This is the Stuart Stevenson, which is an American truck.
32:53
And it's been redone by Nasella, who we also worked with, right?
32:59
They call these trucks Manterres.
33:01
This is pretty beefy, right?
33:02
Yeah, but now you're in like, what's that bus you like?
33:07
The very expensive bus.
33:09
Yeah, now you're in Prevo territory.
33:10
Well, now you need a million dollars maybe.
33:13
Not for the truck, but for the whole camper, right?
33:15
Is that Arctic truck next door to us?
33:17
Yeah, look at that.
33:19
That's an F650 or 550.
33:24
Yeah, with giant balloon tires.
33:29
You know, I think Nathan profiled this truck as well, yeah.
33:33
So we have a video, very in-depth look.
33:36
Hello, how are you?
33:39
Hi, good to see you.
33:40
So this here is the power stroke, of course.
33:42
And I'm wondering if even this thing has enough torque to move this.
33:45
Well, if it's a high output, it's got 1200 torques, which is a lot of torques.
33:51
And there's six of them.
33:52
Yeah, yeah, that's a lot to move.
33:56
There are 36580R20s MPTs, so basically military style tires.
34:01
So four doesn't make a 6x6.
34:02
So these guys have got to be, what, customizing it, right?
34:08
We've got a little bit of a track vehicle here.
34:10
Yeah, tracked outdoors.
34:12
These are articulating track, they look like miniature tanks.
34:16
And they are articulated in the middle because there is a kind of a driving portion.
34:20
And then there's a secondary also driving portion.
34:24
And by the way, our friends.
34:25
They look like snow cats.
34:26
Like mini snow cats.
34:28
I remember I was near one in the snow and I got out of one and actually sunk into the snow.
34:36
But they have such big area that they actually go over soft terrain very, very well.
34:42
They're right on top of the snow and don't thinking.
34:44
I guess that's the whole idea, right?
34:46
So you can go into places that you normally couldn't get.
34:49
And this is our friends from four little campers.
34:52
We've got a Trevor.
34:55
Yeah, look at that.
34:56
A Trevor Super Duty, like ours.
34:58
But there's a lot of music here, Roman.
35:00
We might get demonetized for the music.
35:07
Somebody's selling a Sprinter Van over there for $189,000.
35:11
So that's the type of money we're talking about here, Roman.
35:14
Like I said, to me coming from Pebble Beach, Andre, that seems quaint.
35:20
But like I said, you don't have to spend $189,000.
35:23
You could be on a lower budget and still get it down.
35:27
That's so much four wheels and tires on a Bugatti Veyron or a Huron cost.
35:35
Or maybe a paint job on a Veyron.
35:39
All right, we're making your way.
35:41
Remember this ultimate Overland vehicle?
35:45
We just, I just drove it.
35:46
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
35:47
We did a video on this guy.
35:49
Yeah, every year they build out.
35:51
Let's look at the motorcycle, actually.
35:52
We profiled the truck.
35:54
If you want to see it heading over to all TFL, every year they kind of build out
36:00
But I like the Suzuki that they've built out.
36:02
I like the colors on it.
36:03
We're looking at a yellow and blue.
36:06
Yeah, this is nice.
36:08
This is nice scheme here.
36:10
It's the V-Strom, I think, DE.
36:13
And it's got the protection on the side here.
36:19
It's got both hand and kind of light guard right there.
36:25
So, of course, it's got soft side saddle bags.
36:29
And the most interesting thing is it's built as an off-roader,
36:32
but it doesn't have very off-roady tires.
36:35
Well, a little bit of knobby.
36:36
But once again, I'm not a motorcycle expert.
36:38
By the way, this motorcycle and also the GMC camper here,
36:42
they're going to be auctioned off for charity.
36:45
And the charity is Overland Foundation.
36:49
They do land conservation, those efforts.
36:52
Look, there's a Cybertruck with a camper.
36:54
Let's go check it out.
36:56
Because that is unusual.
36:57
What are they calling it?
36:58
What's the foundation?
36:59
Overland Foundation.
37:01
They should be calling it the Outdoorzing Foundation.
37:03
See, I'm going to sneak that in every 10 minutes, Andre,
37:06
until it becomes part of the vernacular.
37:09
So, I've never seen a Cybertruck camper around.
37:13
Yeah, there's a guy in Boulder who built them out.
37:15
I think his timing is incredibly poor.
37:20
Well, let's go check it out.
37:21
Remember when, like, the renderings of the Cybertruck came out
37:25
and people were putting campers on top?
37:27
Everybody was losing there.
37:29
And now people can't run far and fast enough away from it.
37:32
I know, but so, I mean, I still see Cybertrucks around,
37:35
but I don't see a lot of them modified at all.
37:39
So, this looks like, yeah, it's the same guy.
37:41
It's a foundation series,
37:42
and he's like spent a lot of time to match the camper.
37:45
It's stainless steel to the truck itself.
37:50
Well, I mean, the great thing about doing a Cybertruck,
37:52
I'll show you the inside of it.
37:54
It's kind of a pop-up that pops up at the same angle
37:58
that the front of the truck slopes down,
38:00
which is kind of cool.
38:01
But what's the obvious advantage of this?
38:03
On-board power, right?
38:07
You have, like, 7 kilowatts or 7.2 kilowatt of power?
38:10
Yeah, you could power everything in this thing.
38:13
And you also have the front.
38:14
Of course, if you do that,
38:15
you may not get out from wherever you're coming,
38:18
because you show your power.
38:19
Well, you have to be mindful.
38:20
Maybe you have solar that will help you out.
38:22
There's a little Chevy Astro van, Roman.
38:24
I wanted to buy a Safari version of this,
38:27
and you wanted to build it out.
38:28
But, so this is like $3,000, Roman.
38:30
Yeah, well, it's because his windows are duct taped.
38:34
Well, why be fancy when you can be frugal?
38:38
That would not do well at Pebble Beach, right?
38:39
That is, I'll show you the whole thing.
38:41
The paint is a little faded, I would say.
38:44
But I do like the fact that this gentleman or lady
38:47
is towing a gold wing behind it.
38:49
So you've got the ultimate...
38:51
It's riding for a cure.com.
38:56
Yeah, so you feel like go to where we're going with the van.
38:59
And then if you need to zip around,
39:02
you've got the gold wing as your kind of...
39:05
I think it's a gold wing, isn't it?
39:07
Yeah, it's a gold wing.
39:08
All right, so we need to finish up, Roman, soon.
39:11
But we also need to see Chrysler and Ram.
39:14
And they're down this direction.
39:15
Now, another trend I'm seeing, Andre, is fewer jeeps and more Toyota products.
39:21
Jeep seems to be kind of waning a little bit.
39:23
Well, this is jeeps right here.
39:26
Outdouring community.
39:28
Well, no, but look across the way.
39:30
So, yeah, you got gladiators, but look around.
39:33
There are a lot more Toyota's here.
39:34
Yeah, especially you were seeing a lot of Land Cruisers.
39:37
So when the Land Cruiser first came out, people...
39:42
Now we're talking GXs over there.
39:43
People were like...
39:45
And they were like, this is not a real Land Cruiser.
39:47
I remember Jason, our buddy did a video, you know, poo-pooing it.
39:51
And yet, and yet, Jason...
39:54
They're here modified.
39:56
It looks better on bigger tires.
39:57
Look, two modified.
39:59
And I think the thing that you can poo-poo it all you want,
40:02
you can say it's not the traditional Land Cruiser.
40:05
But by making it cheaper, you've made it more accessible.
40:08
So as we're going down this row,
40:10
there's another one over there.
40:11
There's another one over there.
40:13
It just becomes Turraville because people can afford them.
40:17
If you're starting with a cheaper vehicle,
40:19
then it's a lot easier than when you're starting with a more expensive.
40:21
I don't see any of the, you know, old Land Cruisers here, do you?
40:25
No, but dude, but this is an LX700H triple locked Lexus SUV
40:32
right here that we're looking at.
40:33
Starts at 120 just before you put any other...
40:36
Before modifications.
40:38
I think I would do the GX if I were doing it.
40:42
So Lexus, this is Lexus's booth actually.
40:45
And across the way is Slea Fruit that are known
40:48
for modifying Lexus and Turraville.
40:50
Another Colorado company.
40:51
Dude, look at this front bumper.
40:54
Yeah, that's really cool.
40:55
I love the color too.
40:56
We're looking at the GX550.
40:58
It's kind of a gray, really well integrated bumper.
41:01
Looks like it's factory.
41:02
Hello, good to see you.
41:04
Hey Christo, how's it going?
41:06
We got to stop meeting here.
41:15
I did a video with you guys.
41:16
You're on the podcast.
41:19
Yeah, we're just doing a walk around.
41:20
Saw your orange truck out.
41:24
I saw you guys in the neighborhood.
41:25
Yeah, that's Tommy.
41:26
Yeah, he just came back from Moab.
41:28
I like you guys are doing the
41:29
Switzerland trail thing again.
41:31
Yeah, we're back together.
41:33
You were terrified.
41:34
I was butt clenching.
41:36
All the time in Ben's old truck.
41:41
Christo, is this the new hybrid?
41:46
700H with some of your mods.
41:49
Christo, I gotta say, I love what you do with the GX.
41:52
I love what you do with the LX.
41:54
You guys just look factory.
41:55
That's gotta be hard.
41:56
It takes more time.
41:58
That's why we're not always first to market.
42:00
Does Toyota ever work with you?
42:02
Do they ever come to you and say,
42:03
Hey, here's what we're doing and...
42:05
Well, Toyota, work with this guy.
42:07
Premiere, Off-Roader.
42:08
Well, Roman, they're getting closer
42:10
because they're right there.
42:11
At least our sister company is there now.
42:16
On Wednesday, we actually went on a trail ride
42:19
with a chief engineer that designed the LX 700.
42:22
Oh, I interviewed him.
42:24
Six people from Japan and two from the U.S.
42:27
Or they're getting information about
42:29
what should be in the next model.
42:31
So that was pretty cool.
42:33
Yeah, that is pretty cool.
42:34
And that's cool that they're doing it here in Colorado.
42:37
So we got to spend time on a trail.
42:38
And some of them is the first time
42:40
that they've ever driven off-road.
42:42
Strange that they designed cars for that.
42:46
They are actively trying to get input
42:48
from the public on what they should put in the cars.
42:50
So I gotta say, I was in Japan a few months ago
42:54
and you could still get the old 70s series there.
42:57
Yeah, and I had some major lust.
43:00
You know, because it's a diesel
43:02
and it's like it just looks so rugged
43:04
and looks so tough.
43:05
I know, but that's what we got.
43:09
But wouldn't you, you gotta say,
43:10
as part of you would love an old 70s series.
43:12
I do have a 79 series, pick it up.
43:16
But a new one from the factory.
43:19
Not new from the factory, but we built it new.
43:21
All right, let's keep going.
43:22
Thank you, good to see you.
43:23
Hey, I saw Kurt Williams over there.
43:24
Let's go say hi to him.
43:26
I think he's over here.
43:28
I recognize you too.
43:29
Yeah, we're just doing a little bit of a walk around.
43:32
We're not that famous people.
43:34
We're, what, Z-level celebrities.
43:39
Depends on what you're interested in.
43:40
You know, the poetry stuff.
43:42
Well, thank you very much.
43:43
I really appreciate it.
43:44
Let's go see if we get Kurt.
43:45
I just saw him over here somewhere.
43:53
Here's Mr. Landcruiser himself.
43:55
I'm good with that.
43:56
I'm doing good to see him.
43:57
We're doing a walk around.
43:59
So just, Kurt Williams of course.
44:01
Thank you for everything you've done for us over the years.
44:03
Runs the Toyota Museum in Salt Lake City.
44:07
There's a whole team that runs that museum.
44:08
Yeah, he's a small part of it.
44:10
He's part of the museum.
44:11
So if you guys are ever in Salt Lake City, please come visit.
44:14
What you guys doing here?
44:15
We're here with Lexus.
44:16
Teaching some fun classes in the Lexus booth.
44:18
Just talking about all the mechanics of them.
44:20
But, and showing off these cool vehicles.
44:22
Got a GX550 here and the 700H.
44:26
So are you a GX or an LX man?
44:31
I love the LX as well.
44:34
Front and rear locked LX.
44:35
Are you secretly coveting the LX?
44:37
Well, I think who doesn't?
44:39
But we have a GX and I'd love to add an LX to the fleet
44:42
one of these days as well.
44:43
No, I think I'm with you.
44:44
I think that, you know, the problem with the LX,
44:47
It's just too much money to put it in harm's way.
44:50
An 85 or whatever this is, I'm okay.
44:58
Very nice suspension LX.
45:00
That just means you can put them in more harm.
45:03
I will, I do aspire to have one.
45:05
I would love to have an LX in there.
45:07
So I was just talking to Christo, you know,
45:09
from across the way.
45:10
And I was in Japan a few months ago
45:12
and they do a, like I think it's a 70 series
45:14
from the factory, new with the diesel.
45:17
That's, that's the one.
45:20
I would love to have with you.
45:21
You know, I love old Land Cruisers and new Land Cruisers.
45:24
But these, the platforms we have here are certainly capable.
45:29
We all want a 70 series.
45:30
But these have a few more cup holders
45:32
and a few little nicer accoutrements
45:33
for the, the market here in the States.
45:35
So in Japan, they run like between,
45:36
if you convert it to the end of dollars,
45:38
it's like 35 to 40,000 for, you know,
45:41
it's got a diesel engine.
45:43
It still has the slider switches, you know what I mean?
45:46
Factory dash, like a 76 series
45:48
or a 79 series with that diesel is a cool truck.
45:50
And I have this contention
45:51
that if they were to bring it here,
45:53
they could sell it for like 100,000
45:54
because people would be willing to pay
45:56
to be the only ones on the block to have that.
45:58
They may, they may be willing to.
46:00
Yeah, they're not going to do it.
46:01
There are Land Cruiser owners that would do that,
46:03
absolutely as we know.
46:04
And I think that's happening.
46:06
For those that really want them, they're,
46:08
they're getting older Land Cruisers
46:09
can be imported in older vehicles, as you know.
46:12
So that's quite a bit older.
46:14
But you walk around this parking lot
46:15
and there are a lot of imported diesel Land Cruisers here.
46:18
As you know, I've got a handful of love old diesel ones.
46:20
But I love a new one.
46:21
The magic is getting a new, right?
46:23
I don't, I don't want to wait 25 years.
46:24
Anyway, hopefully see it tonight.
46:28
You and me and James are going to go get some dinner maybe.
46:30
We're going to do the Toyota doing the game not
46:32
and then we'll try to cook up over some dinner.
46:34
All right, take care.
46:38
All right, well, I just got my,
46:40
what, my dropping the fact that I was in Japan
46:42
in there twice, Andre, along with speaking of older.
46:47
You make fun of me talking about my loaf of bread
46:50
and then you can talk about Pebble Beach
46:52
and your hoity-toity stuff.
46:57
Now that's the one.
46:59
That's the one you want.
46:59
Speaking of what I was saying, right?
47:06
I mean in the metal.
47:08
Yeah, this is really cool.
47:09
You can't get around.
47:10
By the way, Ross Monster is here too.
47:13
We checked out several of their vehicles.
47:15
Super high quality dude.
47:19
Like they got the umla over the
47:21
oh and monster, Andre.
47:22
So you know they're European.
47:25
So you know they're German.
47:27
Because you're not going to have an umla.
47:28
Hey, we're back to Jeeps.
47:30
Jeeps, more jeep land.
47:33
Oh, I see an old school Unimog.
47:37
This is, it's open roof.
47:40
Yeah, you know what, this first,
47:42
so there's several generations of
47:43
Unimog, but this first one,
47:47
Yeah, they're small, but they're slow as,
47:49
you know, what dude?
47:50
Well, they're tractors.
47:51
Yeah, they are tractors.
47:52
Like getting this thing up on the highway
47:54
would be terrifying because you'd
47:55
have traffic backed up about 20 miles,
47:57
You could get this thing up to maybe
47:58
45 with the wind downhill.
48:01
Kind of like our, kind of like our Gigi.
48:02
Hold on, let me, I want to look inside.
48:04
All right, go look inside.
48:08
Oh, it has a little bit of a bread loaf
48:12
Yeah, I know this is your thing,
48:15
Are we running, we're running out of time.
48:16
Should we walk over and check out
48:18
the new thing that was unveiled?
48:23
Let's go look at it.
48:26
It's very rare that like an OEM actually
48:30
Well, they used to do more of that,
48:33
And so they have, you know, actually
48:38
No, this isn't Chrysler.
48:39
We're looking at a bunch of bumpers.
48:40
We have more Fords.
48:43
Hold on, Roman, be patient.
48:45
We have to build up suspense.
48:47
A little bit more suspense.
48:48
It's very rare, Andre, that I
48:50
build up suspense to a Pacifica
48:52
Just saying, you know.
48:53
And you introduced me to a company
48:55
that actually lists them.
48:56
They do list for Pacificas.
48:59
Yeah, it's called Journey.
49:02
Oh, look at this, Roman.
49:04
This whole journey, no pun intended,
49:07
has been for us to reach a new concept vehicle, right?
49:15
Pretty amazing, huh?
49:17
So this is factory done.
49:19
There's a bunch of little grizzly bears.
49:21
Yeah, but it's not for sale.
49:22
It's just kind of a study, right?
49:24
Yeah, it's a concept from Chrysler.
49:27
And I love the wheels.
49:28
So somebody who knows color and specs has done this.
49:33
I love the little grizzly, which I'm sure they designed.
49:35
Look at the fog lamps.
49:37
You want to show them the little grizzly logo?
49:40
So that looks like, you know,
49:40
like a designer went at that.
49:43
Then they added, of course, fog lamps.
49:45
Now the trick here is you can't do the hybrid
49:48
because the hybrid only comes in two-wheel drive
49:50
because there's a battery and a drive shaft
49:52
can't go through the battery, apparently.
49:53
So this has got to be a basic one, four by four.
49:56
Look at the interior.
49:57
This is where a lot of people kind of, you know...
50:00
It does have a little rack.
50:01
This is the difference between the pros
50:04
and the manufacturer and the regular, right?
50:06
They actually change the interior.
50:10
And they do, they spend their time, right?
50:12
Look at all the piping, stitching, seatbelts.
50:14
The steering wheel is done.
50:17
And then it kind of has that stow and go system, right?
50:20
Where you could kind of make a flat floor.
50:22
Well, you could, you know, like my wife hates when I snore.
50:26
So I could sleep in the rooftop tent.
50:28
And she can sleep down here.
50:30
But there is a rooftop tent.
50:31
Whereas, I guess you can sleep here.
50:33
You could add one, yeah.
50:34
You think it's lifted?
50:36
It has a small lift, I think.
50:37
You think it's got a small lift?
50:38
And it's got these BF Goodrich all-terrain tires.
50:42
What do you think of the matte blue paint?
50:48
Also, you know another logo they should add to this?
50:51
Besides the grizzly?
50:52
They need a Hellcat logo.
50:54
Yeah, you got a Hellcat, this gentleman.
50:57
I'm Roman with TFL.
50:58
Roman, Dan's the Roman.
50:59
Nice to meet you, Dan.
51:00
I like your street.
51:01
Andre, pleasure to meet you.
51:02
So you want to walk?
51:03
Here, let me put this on.
51:04
And you could do a walk around.
51:09
Are you the person?
51:11
No, you can start with the interior.
51:12
We'll start with the interior.
51:13
Let's start with the interior.
51:14
Okay, go ahead, Andre.
51:15
You want to start from the front?
51:16
Yeah, let's start from the front.
51:18
Yeah, can you show us around?
51:20
We were just commenting on how
51:23
attention to detail is very important.
51:25
It looks very nice.
51:26
Yeah, thanks a lot.
51:28
So we're trying to capture a more
51:30
sporty athletic appeal for the interior.
51:33
So what we did was start with the
51:34
limited with the integrated console.
51:36
We've added the catskin leather seats
51:38
with the white and mango suede piping.
51:42
We've added the Mopar all-weather
51:44
And if you can kind of see,
51:46
there's a really nice rust orange
51:48
stitch that runs throughout the whole
51:50
And then stopping at the steering
51:51
wheel, for the first time,
51:52
we've added paddle shifters here.
51:55
We've changed the steering wheel
51:57
bezel color to this liquid titanium.
51:59
So again, it's a more athletic
52:01
appeal for the whole interior.
52:03
And then obviously as you go
52:05
throughout the car,
52:05
we've got the still-and-go seats.
52:07
We've stowed one seat to kind
52:08
of show the massive volume that
52:10
you get out of the interior.
52:12
And then we've got the Yeti Cooler here.
52:16
We've kept everything really open in
52:18
the back because you could showcase
52:20
that you can put a bike inside the
52:21
vehicle or you could put a paddle
52:23
board in there or a surfboard,
52:26
In the back, we've done something
52:28
I see a lot of minivan owners
52:30
that actually like take their third
52:31
row and they stow it and they
52:34
So the idea here is to question
52:36
whether we can make the third row
52:39
So it's got this heavy-duty cargo floor
52:41
and it showcases that you can put
52:42
wet or dry gear in the back here.
52:46
And just how it kind of is more of a
52:48
utility function rather than just
52:51
Right, and here too, like if you want
52:53
to camp out in a vehicle,
52:54
I need places to put stuff.
52:56
I need things to, you know,
52:58
I need to be able to lay flat if
52:59
I'm going to, if it's raining out,
53:00
I need a place that's got shelter.
53:04
The other thing is we try to respond
53:06
to what customers have been
53:08
So they asked for a power outlet.
53:09
We've got a 115-volt outlet here.
53:12
We've been hearing people say,
53:14
You need a marine grade.
53:16
We also did the space saver spare
53:19
Return to the space saver spare.
53:21
So for years that's been gone.
53:23
And it's tucked on the side.
53:24
Yeah, it's tucked on the side.
53:25
You know, you have different options
53:27
you can get in this panel.
53:28
You can get a vacuum.
53:30
You can get the subwoofer
53:31
or you can get the space saver spare.
53:33
So it's just trying to address
53:35
customer needs in a different way.
53:37
Yeah, that's really well done.
53:39
Yeah, we wanted to speak maybe a little
53:40
bit on the exterior.
53:43
Let me get the mic, I'll get it.
53:44
Let me get you over here.
53:46
Hopefully put this on you.
53:47
this is the subwoofer.
53:48
So you don't have to wear that.
53:49
Ah, the stupid badge.
53:50
Oh, there's a video.
53:52
Can we start at the front?
53:53
Because I like those fog lamps.
53:55
Those are, those are pretty nice.
53:59
What type of a lift?
54:00
Is there a suspension lift on this?
54:02
Yes, there's a suspension lift on this.
54:04
It's a two and a half on the front.
54:07
At 2.75 in the front, so two and three quarters
54:10
and two and a half in the back.
54:11
Okay, so it's a little bit like more level look, right?
54:14
Well, the all-wheel drive already has one inch on it,
54:16
so it's on top of the all-wheel drive.
54:18
So technically it's like three, three and a half.
54:20
But that way you can actually have
54:22
the nice big tire on there.
54:24
So the tire is 31 inch.
54:26
It's two inches bigger than our current Pacifica tire.
54:29
So you get that lift it off the ground,
54:32
so you get that off-road-ish feel, right?
54:34
And then you get the rugged tire,
54:36
so snow and of course, overlanding.
54:39
And the bumper is a little bit different, isn't it?
54:42
So the bumper is what we did is we actually wrapped it
54:45
with a vinyl, so it kind of protects it
54:47
from all the rocks hitting it.
54:49
And then the fog lamp is LP4 fog lamp,
54:51
but we did a unique bezel that fits it in here.
54:53
So we designed a specific bezel just for that
54:56
to fit it in there.
54:57
Yeah, I think it's an overall good look
54:59
and also you've got some extra lights kind of up above.
55:01
Exhilarating at the top, correct?
55:04
Exhilarating at the top.
55:06
And then we have the awning, of course,
55:07
to see it right there.
55:08
But it's the look, we went after the look,
55:10
we wanted it to be matte.
55:11
So it's matte blue, Arctic blue.
55:16
And then we've got the awesome badge,
55:18
you see it on the body side?
55:19
With the symbolize the toughness of this.
55:24
You know what reminds me a little bit
55:25
of a like a Hellcat badge, kind of the same theme.
55:27
It's the same idea.
55:28
Same theme, but different, different, yeah.
55:31
So because we're trying to toughen up the van,
55:33
so we went after a different animal,
55:35
or we thought this is a perfect fit.
55:37
Because of Mamba bear cubs, you know.
55:39
Yes, yes, absolutely.
55:43
The sliding doors, you have so much space, right?
55:45
You can open it up, you can use it.
55:47
It's a lot of space on the inside,
55:49
that you can now really use it in a different way.
55:52
And we kind of brought it here to test it,
55:54
see what people think,
55:54
because it's such a different take on overlanding than new.
55:58
But it's not the only van here, right?
56:00
I mean, it's kind of in the,
56:02
I mean there's bigger, bigger vehicles,
56:04
like, you know, more gigantic ones.
56:06
It seems obvious, but somehow it wasn't, right?
56:08
So yeah, I mean it's the only minivan here.
56:10
But it's a more, you know, streamlined, you know.
56:12
It's aerodynamic, so.
56:15
And you got all the safety,
56:17
Chrysler Pacifica is extremely safe vehicle,
56:19
so if you're with your kids, you're safe.
56:23
Thank you very much.
56:25
Thank you very much.
56:27
I appreciate it, guys.
56:30
We're going to head out.
56:30
We're going to finish up our podcast.
56:34
Hey, build it and they will come.
56:37
Thank you very much.
56:40
We'll see you soon.
56:42
I'd buy that, Andre.
56:45
But look, but there's a RAM section here as well, Roman.
56:49
Is this the Stalant?
56:50
If we enter the Stalant's part of the walk around.
56:52
Yes, we have the enter Stalant.
56:52
But there's a guy talking to a speaker,
56:54
which is going to be annoying.
56:55
But so they also do riding drives, right?
56:58
So they have like a dirt mount where you could actually
57:02
test some of the functionality of some of these vehicles,
57:05
Is there a Hemi under one of those?
57:08
Let's look, because they're just reintroducing the Hemi, right?
57:13
A Rebel X celebrates 10 years of the RAM 1500 Rebel.
57:17
Hey, you want to spill the beans on what you're doing next week?
57:20
You're doing something really cool.
57:21
Yeah, I'm going to spill the beans.
57:22
Why don't you spill the beans?
57:23
Because Andre is going to Detroit,
57:25
but you're bringing back something.
57:27
So RAM has an event at Chelsea Proving Grounds,
57:30
which is their corporate proving ground in Michigan.
57:33
And I'm bringing a truck similar to this back to Colorado,
57:38
but it's going to be a warlock.
57:41
But that's all I'm going to say.
57:42
If there's something under the hood,
57:43
maybe that people will be interested in.
57:45
Yes, but that's all I'm going to say.
57:47
Yeah, we'll have to surprise you guys.
57:52
Oh, that's interesting.
57:53
Look, somebody's taken a Grenadier and put it next to a Defender,
57:59
Which is unusual because the Defender was kind of what the Grenadier is,
58:05
or vice versa, the Grenadier is what the Defender was.
58:07
The creator of the Grenadier company wanted to build a Defender, right?
58:13
And now they're next to each other right here.
58:15
Let's go show them.
58:17
So yeah, the biggest, Sir Richardson, is that his name?
58:22
Radcliffe, Jim Radcliffe.
58:24
Sir Jim Radcliffe, Sir just been in the U.K.,
58:28
wanted to take the old Defender, not that one, the one that was boxy.
58:31
The original, yeah.
58:32
And keep building it.
58:33
But Land Rover said no, and so instead he came up with this.
58:37
Yeah, that's a rebel rally car.
58:39
Dude, look at that trailer.
58:41
Maybe we can end right there.
58:43
Have you ever seen something like that?
58:44
It's a very military trailer.
58:46
But it also has leather on the inside.
58:55
This is something else.
58:57
More of a kind of a streamlined teardrop trailer.
59:01
I don't know what you'd call this.
59:02
This is not a, it's not like a bean trailer.
59:07
This is more of a, this is the BRS off road.
59:10
Oh yeah, look at all the fans up there.
59:12
Wow, but look at the space, the amount of curvature here.
59:17
It's just, it's a class of teardrop, right?
59:20
Yeah, it's just like armored up teardrop.
59:23
Yes, but tough looking and very mean.
59:26
Very mean and tough.
59:27
Well, we've done it, we've done a complete walk around.
59:30
We're back to our friend Scott.
59:32
So guys, well, we saw maybe 80%, maybe 70%, right?
59:37
We didn't see every single thing.
59:38
And if you guys, you know, want to find out what Tommy and the team have been up to,
59:42
head on over to Karish.
59:44
And we want to especially give a shout out to our patrons.
59:49
So we started doing live shows.
59:50
Obviously this is not a live show right now.
59:53
No, we don't have a band with you.
59:54
But from our studio at home in Boulder, Colorado, we're doing also live Patreon shows.
00:00
We really appreciate your support.
00:03
And that's how you can get these shows first before anybody else does.
00:07
And also questions.
00:08
If you ask questions, we'll answer them.
00:11
And the most common question is what, Roman?
00:14
What truck does Andre drive?
00:17
What's your favorite truck, right?
00:19
And what we showed you here is kind of some of our favorites.
00:23
No, the most common question is, you know, what's happening with the bread loaf?
00:27
What's happening with the bread loaf, Andre?
00:32
It's been in the shop now for like the last three years.
00:35
Let's help projects go.
00:36
So if you guys are interested in helping Andre build it out,
00:39
once he gets the transmission fixed.
00:41
Please watch the video.
00:42
Now that his, you know, VA swapped it.
00:45
Then where should they contact us?
00:48
Yeah, but also just follow our channels.
00:51
And I bet, Andre, I bet.
00:52
I bet if you guys jumped in and helped Andre fix this,
00:55
we could show it here next year.
00:57
Wouldn't that be great?
00:58
It could be featured maybe at Scott's booth.
01:00
It could be featured.
01:01
We could have the only Russian Buhanka at the...
01:04
Do you see any other Russian Buhankas here?
01:06
I have seen nothing else.
01:07
I've just seen all, you know, Jeeps and Chetties and Fords.
01:10
And British Ineosprinted ears.
01:14
But the only thing help I need, Roman, is encouragement.
01:18
And support online.
01:21
I'm not asking for money.
01:23
I'm asking for encouragement and support.
01:27
We'll see you guys next time.
01:36
