[SPEAKER_02]: Mechanically, this car is actually really good.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the guy who is sad for a long time.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's bad for him.

[SPEAKER_02]: It was repainted unfortunately.
[SPEAKER_02]: The original color was that kind of copper.
[SPEAKER_01]: This car looks like it was painted with a toothbrush.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it was normally painted.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is what I think maybe we overpaid a little for this car.
[SPEAKER_01]: But the engine's pretty strong.
[SPEAKER_01]: It does burn a little bit oil.
[SPEAKER_02]: You're not going to find good original paint from six to eight.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but you can find a paint job that's not done with [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but it's not the paint that's valuable.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's the fact that it's a sixty-eight.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's what we're going to do.
[SPEAKER_01]: Sure.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, there's going to be some value in that.
[SPEAKER_02]: What do you mean some value?
[SPEAKER_02]: A sixty-eight compared to a seventy-eight.
[SPEAKER_02]: There's like a hundred percent premium in this.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, sixty-eight's are more valuable for sure.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: That now the really desirable versions of this have the high performance three fifties.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm a little offended because I spent a lot of time looking at a lot of cars.
[SPEAKER_01]: I love the car.
[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's a great car.
[SPEAKER_02]: You somehow you're conflating.
[SPEAKER_02]: I like that word by the way.
[SPEAKER_02]: You're confusing the difference between an early Corvette to a later Corvette.
[SPEAKER_02]: So yes, C-trees, you can get those all day long for ten or less if it's the Malays era.
[SPEAKER_02]: But these early ones, ones with the chrome bumpers, carry a magnificent premium because these are the ones that people want.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's an awesome car.
[SPEAKER_02]: Right, no emissions.
[SPEAKER_02]: I just think that for the quality of the body work on this.
[SPEAKER_02]: But the thing was, this was crap from begin with.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but this was a crappy car.
[SPEAKER_02]: There's a story apparently.
[SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't from a bucket with it.
[SPEAKER_02]: In sixty-eight, Chevy loaned this car and you can tell the sixty-eight cause the door handles are different from the other ones.
[SPEAKER_02]: And so our wipers, Chevy loaned this car to car and driver, they headed a week and they gave it back to Chevy and they said, [SPEAKER_02]: bring it back when it's finished.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's how badly these things were originally built in the first year.
[SPEAKER_02]: So the sixty-eight is not the, yes, I'm not.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not an example of a C-three.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not complaining about the quality of the fit and finish.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's horrible.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm complaining about the quality of the paint on this one.
[SPEAKER_02]: But you could spend, you could spend, you could easily spend twenty thousand dollars on the paint alone if you want to do it right.
[SPEAKER_02]: Sure.
[SPEAKER_02]: Or ten.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, for sure.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'll need to see somebody's butt like two grand on this.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it would be expensive to get it perfect.
[SPEAKER_01]: But it's a nice driver.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's really fun to drive.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the cool stuff works.
[SPEAKER_01]: So like the headlights work on this, the wipers work on this.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I can't drive it because the steering wheel's too big and it goes into my lab, but I can't act.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is a small steering wheel.
[SPEAKER_02]: I know.
[SPEAKER_02]: I know.
[SPEAKER_01]: The original one was like, fifty percent.
[SPEAKER_01]: I know.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I can't, it's still too.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, so he never gets to drive.
[SPEAKER_01]: I do get a lot though.
[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's great.
[SPEAKER_01]: I probably will start right up, actually.
[SPEAKER_02]: Give a key.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I've got it here.
[SPEAKER_02]: I bet you'll start right up too.
[SPEAKER_02]: So to me, that's more important than the paint Tommy.
[SPEAKER_01]: None of the other thing we got to fix is none of the interior light work.
[SPEAKER_01]: Great.
[SPEAKER_01]: So you don't know how fast we're going.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's see.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, also missing.
[SPEAKER_02]: Look at that.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's worth twenty thousand right there.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so it does run pretty good.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: My favorite part about this car is the previous owner put diesel Magnaflow pipes on it and it's got a great little growl.
[SPEAKER_02]: It does.
[SPEAKER_02]: All right, let's finish up because we're running out of time here.
[SPEAKER_02]: How long we into this cold?
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, a forty five minutes already.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is going to be a long one.
[SPEAKER_02]: So this is our World War Two Willis, or do you say Willis?
[SPEAKER_01]: Willis, yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Willis, or Willis, and I love this thing.
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think we're going to sell it.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was very well restored, obviously.
[SPEAKER_02]: So we bought this.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm bringing trailer for like twenty two thousand dollars restored.
[SPEAKER_02]: For a long time when I was a kid, you could get these for Lali pop people were selling them.
[SPEAKER_02]: You can go in like to comic book and [SPEAKER_02]: These were still sold in crates for like five hundred bucks because they're still around.
[SPEAKER_02]: Now those ones in crates are incredibly valuable if you can actually find one.
[SPEAKER_02]: But a fully restored one like we're also going to get another one, right?
[SPEAKER_02]: Most of these are in museums and this thing runs in drives.
[SPEAKER_02]: We did have an issue with the carburetor.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so it's a long story, but the float had failed in the carburetor, so I pulled the carburetor part, and then I went to buy a new float, which was totally the wrong size.
[SPEAKER_01]: I couldn't get the original brass float, so I soldered the brass float, and now it should be good.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's been running really good, actually.
[SPEAKER_02]: And the engine's rebuilt, so.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's got the go devil in it still.
[SPEAKER_01]: This car's been really, really well restored.
[SPEAKER_01]: I think Tommy Jeep.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you can see, like, even the, um, all the wiring is kind of that cool braided stuff that used back in the forties.
[SPEAKER_01]: So this is a really nice example.
[SPEAKER_01]: And we actually do use it all for road sometimes, which is why it's a little dirty underneath this.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, just take it the more.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but it's such a little beast off road.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's the only problem with these is they're pretty slow.
[SPEAKER_01]: So for like the country road, they're around here when you're trying to do most people are doing fifty-five, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: This thing is happy at like thirty-eight.
[SPEAKER_02]: But I could see why people fall in love with a flyfinder.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I do.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're awesome.
[SPEAKER_01]: These things are really, really [SPEAKER_02]: And in a way, these World War II ones are almost too valuable to seriously offer, but I was just watching on Facebook where people are commonly off-roading the CJ-IIIs, right?
[SPEAKER_02]: The civilian Jeep versions of these, the fly-fender ones.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and they do really crazy stuff with them, too.
[SPEAKER_02]: They do.
[SPEAKER_01]: So this is my Mercedes.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is my wedding car, so I'm stuck with it forever.
[SPEAKER_01]: And we had a fun adventure in this, actually.
[SPEAKER_02]: We were like, you really want to switch to those wheels out, huh?
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I do like these wheels a lot.
[SPEAKER_01]: I want to see what they look like on the originals.
[SPEAKER_01]: But we had a nice adventure with this car.
[SPEAKER_01]: We took it up to, where did we go with this?
[SPEAKER_01]: A basin.
[SPEAKER_01]: We did a rally with this car this year.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then I just had a couple little things fixed on it, but it's been perfectly reliable.
[SPEAKER_01]: So this is, I think we've owned this now for three years.
[SPEAKER_02]: These are, these are, this is another car, like the Viper, which unfortunately isn't here, that is under values.
[SPEAKER_02]: So this car is the pillarless coupe, or do you say coupe?
[SPEAKER_02]: It's got the six cylinder, and it's a very sexy car.
[SPEAKER_02]: I knew these cars are twelve thousand dollars all day long.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yep, and they will always be twelve.
[SPEAKER_01]: They don't appreciate their immune to appreciation.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's not great for long term, but what I like about this one is it's kind of a base model, so it's got the carburetors instead of a mechanical fuel injection.
[SPEAKER_01]: And like I said, I mean, it's been perfectly reliable.
[SPEAKER_01]: The only issue is it had its AC ripped out of it, at some point.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's very hot in the summer.
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, so it didn't get the AC with it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but it's a you're not gonna put it back in.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's a big job.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then last time guy over here is a K truck.
[SPEAKER_01]: Look at the K truck.
[SPEAKER_01]: This has been all the little gardening trucks.
[SPEAKER_01]: So my wife got really in a gardening this year.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And this thing we've loaded up like two [SPEAKER_01]: the head height with dirt.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So I've had this thing fully maxed out on payload worth on its bump stops and it will go anywhere.
[SPEAKER_01]: The cooling of these k-tricks is that they're all wheel drive in this case.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is a Honda Acti.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's got a little, it's got a low first gear.
[SPEAKER_01]: So with the low first gear, even at max payload, you can take this thing like [SPEAKER_01]: Deep into the woods back there and it just keeps going.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the signs come off and tell them what you did when you filled it up with the oil.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think I talked about this on a podcast.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's two extra caps on this thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's one on the back and one on the side.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I swear when I went to fill this up with a Jerry can and I put gasoline into the gas cap, but I put five gallons right into the oil.
[SPEAKER_02]: So he filled up the oil with gas and then we came back in the barn and there was the slurry all over the place where the truck had actually convulsed and got rid of it and then we emptied up the oil, put fresh oil and that's fine.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's incredible.
[SPEAKER_01]: The only problem with this truck, which we might be able to change in a couple of years, is it doesn't have a license plate.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so up until now you could register using Colorado, but starting in twenty twenty seven there's been a new loss and you can.
[SPEAKER_01]: So maybe next year or two years from now I guess we'll be able to get this thing played it.
[SPEAKER_02]: I want you to show where the engine is.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's right here.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's kind of cool.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's a mid engine, Tommy.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you got your little plate down there.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a little three cylinder, six hundred and sixty cc engine.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: It actually does fifty five sixty.
[SPEAKER_01]: Just not very very well at the ranch because there's no place to do it.
[SPEAKER_01]: But pretty fast.
[SPEAKER_02]: My problem with it is I don't fit.
[SPEAKER_02]: You fit okay.
[SPEAKER_02]: I kind of fit.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you sort of fit.
[SPEAKER_02]: I sort of fit.
[SPEAKER_02]: Especially in the passenger side with the steering wheel.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's pretty much into my big belly.
[SPEAKER_01]: Super, super easy to drive though.
[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a good one to learn.
[SPEAKER_01]: Structure time.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's a really fun little truck.
[SPEAKER_01]: So I decided to hopefully register to something.
[SPEAKER_02]: You want to show me your latest and greatest purchase?
[SPEAKER_02]: No, that would do a teaser, but that one we've got a full video coming up with.

[SPEAKER_02]: They'll be looking forward to seeing the video.
[SPEAKER_01]: So I bought the cheapest running and driving Toyota in the USA, I think.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is not his best angle coming up on the back.
[SPEAKER_01]: But what we're looking at here is my brand new, nineteen ninety-two Toyota Tercel.
[SPEAKER_01]: So this is a green little blob.
[SPEAKER_01]: with eighty-two horsepower and a four-speed manual.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's not in the greatest shape, I'll admit.
[SPEAKER_01]: It needs some paintwork and it's had a bit of a dent there and everybody at the office hates it.
[SPEAKER_01]: But I actually think it's an excellent machine.
[SPEAKER_01]: This was seven hundred dollars and it only has ninety-seven thousand miles.
[SPEAKER_01]: I bought it out of the public auction at Peacotta auctions.
[SPEAKER_01]: Now granted, there's a couple of things that aren't so good about it.
[SPEAKER_01]: For example, the seat is made at a duct tape.
[SPEAKER_01]: which is not my favorite type of a pulse tree.
[SPEAKER_01]: And that's the only problem with it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Other than the fact that there's been a slight accident at the back of the car.
[SPEAKER_01]: But it's been awesome.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, how about the wheels, the tires?
[SPEAKER_01]: The tires are fine.
[SPEAKER_01]: It runs pretty good.
[SPEAKER_01]: It drives really well.
[SPEAKER_01]: So I've got a little series coming around.
[SPEAKER_01]: Carry the turcell.
[SPEAKER_01]: So be sure to stay tuned for that.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I also just ordered bands for this transmission.
[SPEAKER_01]: So we're going to put some new bands in it.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is a twenty-seven, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and it's been so unbelievably reliable.
[SPEAKER_01]: So we had, what, three of them at one point?
[SPEAKER_01]: Two of them, yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So you had two teas in an A. Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And this thing's been to the top of Pikes Peak.
[SPEAKER_01]: We drove it up to the top of Pikes Peak.
[SPEAKER_01]: I drive it around town quite a lot.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it never overheats.
[SPEAKER_01]: It never fails to start.
[SPEAKER_01]: It just works.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's such a cool thing.
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think it's original pickup.
[SPEAKER_02]: I think somebody built the bed for it.
[SPEAKER_02]: No, it's just too common.
[SPEAKER_01]: So you can see this would have been like a roadster, essentially, with a little turtle deck back here.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then someone built a wood bed on it.
[SPEAKER_01]: But it means it's just more useful.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's fine.
[SPEAKER_01]: But these things are, this is such a fun.
[SPEAKER_01]: If you've never driven a Model T, find a friend or pay the six thousand dollars that takes to buy one of these.
[SPEAKER_01]: because they're awesome.
[SPEAKER_01]: And speaking of which debt to pay for all of this insanity, we have had the sell some vehicles.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh yeah, it's still a lot of vehicles.
[SPEAKER_01]: So the foreigner's gone.
[SPEAKER_01]: So we sold the new tiered off road.
[SPEAKER_02]: Our Mercedes is gone.
[SPEAKER_02]: The one with half a million miles on it.
[SPEAKER_01]: The three hundred wagon, three twenty wagon is gone to a friend Andy, who's doing a little restoration on it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, the, um, what else do we sell?
[SPEAKER_01]: The Wrangler is sold.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Sold the two are Wrangler to buy the Bronco.
[SPEAKER_02]: Wrangler after is gone.
[SPEAKER_01]: The Ranger Raptor is sold.
[SPEAKER_01]: The Cummins is gone.
[SPEAKER_01]: The Cummins that left a little while ago.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, and there's been some other stuff gone.
[SPEAKER_01]: I sold my diesel Mercedes and bring a trailer because I was just kind of done with that experience.
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, and had some other stuff going on.
[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, there's been, there's been a lot of stuff leaving.
[SPEAKER_02]: We have this really, really one in one out.
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think the Mavericks going to be with us much longer.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, probably if you guys are looking for a Maverick.
[SPEAKER_02]: All wheels drive hybrid with about eight thousand miles.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's one that we will be selling and then because we've got so many different vehicles we are building a barn.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's right.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's right.
[SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So we got another little barn going in there.
[SPEAKER_01]: That was going to be smaller and much, much, much more basic.
[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, we've got a little second barn going up there.
