Does professional idiot. Drive.
After hours. Automatic Perfection comes in
the form of two letters, Anu. My LTD.
Welcome to Casa on a nine. Northwest FM.
I'm your host today Elm in the studio that you are because Mr.
Met EJ is was otherwise drunken buddies with us, obviously, through the magic of the internet, but I'll be managing the board today. So, if you disappointed too bad,
that's how the shuttles today. We've got a big crew today, but
as always, they have, cause to show right on myself, mr.
Prince Patrick. And we also have Robin holiday
but at the very least, we sing and I live in the background is little. Good evening everyone.
Good evening Alum. Thank you for meeting the post
today, I got stuck at work with some meetings was unable to get there on time. So is why I asked you earlier to
bring your laptop because you're going to be my Lifesaver today.
So thank you all for keeping the show on the road.
Always a pleasure, get Robin Hollywood joining us, but there's a strange looking very young-looking Men actually on the video there lady. No, no.
With the, there's something missing from Rob's face from last time I saw him. That's been a while.
Okay, well, there you go. Okay, I'm late to the party.
See. See, Rob Rob had this amazing
incredible beard and he's decided to let it go now.
I mean, David, you've got a beard Alum.
You've got a beard, Patrick, you've got a beard, I have a beard Stanley, get one, it's not here.
You've got the three o'clock shadow her of that's what's happening there. How I wrote a note of it, that's
too bad back at work. You know, just work sort of
consuming a lot of my time. So I can't work on my cars and
do other things. Yes, yes.
Yes, we also senior in the background, you've got your lovely wife, Debbie, how you doing, baby?
Yeah, getting better getting better.
Best case scenario. That's, that's absolutely
correct. We'll get around the screens.
I love. How are you doing my friend?
You're in the studio, remaining, the Manning, the the ones and twos today. All right, I can finally hear in
my left ear. You know, it's as well while
three weeks to know, hearing an hour.
But yeah, apart from that going. Well, I've got a little bit of
kindness, but I'll guess I'll wait until we start on that.
They're doing fine. How about you good?
Mate? I'm always good.
Patrick, how are you doing? Yeah, not too bad.
Same old, just trying a long sigh.
It's good. Don't complain there and of
course mr. David Prince.
How are you doing, mr. Hudak.
Lung breathing, thank you. Yes, that's always a good start.
That's always good things to be. Well, let's get straight into it
with some car updates before you to tonight's discussion points, Alum, you said you got some interesting things, interesting car updates for us, I'm assuming this is you're still fighting with, I Zuzu at this point and it's still waiting on a car that that unicycle is going to continue for now.
Don't I Not made much progress owner.
It's been a lazy about that, but we spoke about EVS some time ago. Hmm, here we go.
So I started looking because the Tesla Model y, as part of the quiz has launched Australia, you know.
I showed that to the family. I say, well this is the bigger
one, all the higher up, you know, bigger, roof model, then the model 3, now, what can you say?
Was the 40 recharge. And so, I took it a lot of sight
again. Surely the specs as well.
This would be, you know, with the the I think the upper spec model you got like a 360 View Camera and everything else because one of the concerns is parking.
So she was happy with it and then answer you want, go for it.
So I have a fill out the details, I don't know, I think it might just be because my brother-in-law was there at the time and he thought I can't look bad in front of son-in-law, you know. So he said go for it.
I said, well, don't you tell me twice?
So I filled out the, the detail form.
And I got contacted by somebody from Volvo in South Melbourne.
Burn or somewhere in there else today.
And as I walked before, I put any money down, I'd like to actually try to drop the car, so he's booked me in for Thursday afternoon. So I'm going to go get the STI
serviced at docklands and then, once I can finish up servicing drive down to too vulgar, it's just pink demonstrate and give the car test drive and hopefully just put a deposit down.
According to them, it would be delivered out of about March April, which I Probably expect that to blow out as well.
Fuck the rock trip, just having put the deposit down then have them, you know, be listed on to get access to the car.
So you've taken the plunge, you've become one of them, he's become one of one of you roll my yeah, not quite yet.
What have difficulty? Not my car.
For a higher price than what we paid for it and it could have just basically got a why? But why not?
Why not, because you be without the electric on for a couple of months opening. That's a great play.
I hope someone's ordered that played.
Why not true? In that overall I enjoyed the
Polestar to quite a bit like all those are all great car for what it was. This is basically they've like
the cars are very similar in kind of their fit and finish and that sort of thing. And so you know getting there
the model with I think I think it's 300 kilowatt model with the twin Motors. You know I'd say I'll be pretty
happy with that or sorry. Mum would be pretty happy with
that. Evie races.
I think all sorts of things so they're trying to do some software updates on it.
Now it doesn't bode. Well, no Where's my test was
going, fine? Hopefully, they have a reliable,
internal combustion, engine car to fall back on, but long as it's not a Hyundai or kia, because they blow up and catch a light oh. So, because upholstery is Volvo
corrector or well, they were part of the evolver but they've got on their own now. Okay, so so they were there.
They complete their own car. Yeah, they're still using like
kind of pull her pants and stuff and I can definitely see that flow Volvo Heritage in there in the vehicle, but the other kind of out on their own doing their own thing.
It's essentially a Volvo with every badge, pole star badge on essentially, that's what they are.
Well that's exciting, hello. Hopefully, yours doesn't end up
in the shop for over a week before I fly, but while it's working on, definitely join us. 300 electric kilowatts.
Oh yeah. Absolutely, it'll be it'd be
very quick to be a very quick. Uh, well move all night to
Patrick Patrick updates with you.
My friend. All right, dates.
Nothing. Exciting has happened masses.
So going along, I have, do you have a potential buyer?
Actually God, yeah. Someone that's very interested
in know, looking at the car and I was completely transparent about to them about it. Everything you know, what it up,
what I my price What's the condition of the car?
No. And they've seen more than happy
to, you know, stay on the price that we've come to agreement to.
So I'm just waiting for a time now with them whenever they friend, I'm free as well to arm for them, trust to me and they could come. Look at the car to demonstrate
the vehicle to demonstrate the vehicle show, its capabilities and yeah, but I don't ultimately hopefully take letter off to a good home so that's that. I have been looking at other
cars as well too. To define the meantime as it to
replace. Obviously the mayor says a
daily. So on the weekend, I did go and
look at a Lexus IS250. Were relatively clean car
automatic non-sticky Dash because they were probably common Dash. Yeah, clean car relatively low
km. I think it was from my career
was like a hundred seventy thousand kilometers.
I am pretty too bad. So which Jin of is is that First
generation as I was asking a decent price and would Supply road is. Well, so I've told I'm gay
obviously, I gave him my number and everything moved to Gary in exchange details, you know, to the car car was no perfect.
And I said if anything happens within the next know, two to three weeks, I'll definitely come by and pick that up.
So hopefully, you know, yeah, replace them as line just with is, which will be my next step to Hope.
Really getting my Sylvia because I've been seeing a lot more popping up a lot more 13's. Seems like I'm I'm not sure
whether it's the current market or just, you know, people wanting to get rid of them but I'm seeing a lot more people getting rid of 13s for like know it decent price, you know, still you know, not for Grand Silvio bike, you know, relatively, you know, attainable price, so to say, so he's given me more options up there, which is good. So it's there's less chance of
me buying It rust bucket which I want to avoid at all costs, but yeah, that's pretty much with my car updates.
So I mean I probably bring her back here.
Stinky GT on the over the weekend, took me for a spin in that. Those things are crazy like to
break traction, the rear fun and I'm but yeah that's everything car plates, for me also, say Patrick.
Do you think that the Sylvia markets?
Because I've seen a few a couple up as well and the pricing is sort of becoming Being reasonable.
Is that where is it? Just me?
No, no, it's the case. You know, it's the do me wrong.
They're still not shaping. Are you still you still paying
15 to 17 grand for a naturally, aspirated, SR20 model variant even positive. Even an automatic and manual
still fetch a bit more. So, it's, it's still not cheap,
but I have noticed a lot of people have us a sign to let him go. I don't know whether it's
because, you know, with the cost of fuel or the cost of living going on. Or just people that have bought
these cars do to like, you know, online Trends.
I realized, you know, it's not what they thought they were from social media that they do require a lot of work then aren't the most you know, well-built put together car out there so car to at the end of the day to like it's a 30 year old car that meant that my that's it the end of the day, you know, they're not ten years old, whatever, they're an old car, you're going to run into issues, half the things aren't going to work. So I think people have just come
to realize that and that I've I guess a lot of people are always welcome to the senses that they don't want to spend, you know, 30 grand on a 13. So that's why people are
struggling to sell them at that point.
So I realized, I think this time to let him go at, you know, still not cheap. But, you know, a relatively
after saying this is put reasonable price from.
Yeah, I was gonna say to you Patrick why people putting astronomical prices, but the people that are actually getting those price. I don't, I A very few and far
between. Yeah, because I've seen or
spoken to a few people that have bought them in the 13th of changed hands. The kind of average price of
sins, about 10 to 12 to 15 grand is kind of the average price depending on condition over 13. So I think I think people are
not see a 30 grand Ester Dean be like Shaggy taking the piss.
So so yeah, I think I think reality is starting to heat up you and then look at that's the case.
And if That's the train. That's going to keep happening.
That's it. I'm going to benefit me if along
wrong because they just means more options.
Will be there and more soon. I'll be able to finally pick my
hands up on one of my dream cars.
So definitely look that will keep an eye out for you just on the, on the sticky dashes in the Lexus, the cameras did a to the want through once we got here and I'm not sure if I mentioned before on the podcast. But I had a couple of customers
contact me about them to in a week which was bizarre because I didn't actually I think everyone's went sticky, but that would like 07-08 Camrys and I thought for looking at paint all this, you know, I sort of tossed around my ring.
I'm like, I know, at a Toyota dealer, who was in the service department? There he said, I'll tell her
bring them in. I replaced both the dashboards
under warranty through 2008 model car.
You serious? Absolutely serious.
Yep. This is within the last 12
months, you know, so I don't know.
That's doing it. But certainly Toyota, aah.
I think Macedonia has a similar thing as well because I know with the second generation method, 3 is to be owls where they are is a little after these things.
They said, look my mother's made.
My mom had the same car except her once have started to lift, and I've been looking as well, I'll be looking online, how to fix up and asking Facebook chats and everything.
And I love people saying that like similar to what we are doing now. There, it's still under Mazda
warranty that if you go to mezcla, tell him shown the cob and Say whatever, nonsense, they will replace the tire.
Dash site, haven't tried it yet. Cunts can't save.
If that's the case with Mazda but this is what I've heard from other people. So, you know, maybe one day.
Yeah, I think they are a little selective in the way they do it.
Even at the Toyota like, it was annexed taxi, for instance, I probably wouldn't, we'll do a little bit leaner, you know, if they're one owner, you know, one or two owner, cars with a good history and their been maintained properly and all that sort of thing. Then there are certainly open to
doing it. So, I think I thought, That's
probably in all my years in, the industry is probably about the best warranty thing I've come across actually for, for those, for any form, any manufacturer, really, that's pretty damn good, actually well, 14 years on, yeah, that's pretty amazing.
It's all right, mr. Prince car updates, really not
very much. I was tied up on the weekends.
So I didn't actually aside from driving my Volkswagen, Caddy into the city twice and back again, that was about the extent of This I did enjoy looking at numerous and by numerous, I mean, dozens and dozens and dozens of photos of cars at eyeball on Sunday, which I'm, he will hear a little bit more about later. So yeah, I was sorry that I
couldn't get there, but it looked to be a brilliant event.
So, look forward to hearing more about that.
But car wire, and Care updates bit light on this week.
Sadly, for me. Watch this space.
That watch a space. Totally fine, Robin Holly
updates with you guys. You're always in the space.
There you guys send me a message earlier today or was it yesterday like yours? Yeah, a car that's very familiar
to you. Yeah.
Yeah I can I can buy it back for several thousand dollars more than I solar for yes. So I know if you are seen But
the Old Baron work that that Rob had is back up for sale.
Wow, I saw that actually, I saw that on this afternoon.
I was lunch break there, W10 to was it when I weigh 108?
Sorry. Yeah, I saw that like a price on
it too. Just asking it was a thing 70 or
80 granules asking for it? There's so many k for it.
Wow. Yeah.
I thought I was being a bit Rich.
What did you say? Just under 50 Where you going to
ask us? Suppose you can always come
down, can't you? But you can always go back.
What he would spend another 12 or so maybe plus thousand on it with the airbags and okay deal. He's on it and he put chrome
wheel arches on it and I'm sure he would have done a few other bits and pieces pieces to it. Say, I'm sure you would split
that twelve or fifteen thousand dollars pretty quickly on top of the 50. I just don't get those chrome
wheel Arch, Trims on benzes. I'm sorry, I have a not
offending anybody, but I just think they have Lyle bits of rubbish. They've just cause dust and muck
to build up into mud and rust and starts rusting out the guard. Yep.
They just don't see it at all by that.
Got to go to Camp. They should never be allowed.
I don't think. McCain's personal opinion.
But so that, that was up for sale.
What else has been happening or, you know, of our purchase of the, the Ford Transit. So that's when has it been your
man van, man? A year away, they telling you,
it'll be a year for, for Transit.
So that's that. And I've got a cartel, my life.
It's a secret. I hope she's not watching,
right. Put a deposit on a car.
It's a little Suzuki Jimny. Oh yeah.
Nice. Yeah.
So there's probably two years is it now than at any eight months?
Ah, sweet. Cool.
So Jim knee or Jimny light? Now Jimmy, she's alive.
Okay, what color gray? Nice.
Nice. So that Hopefully be here, maybe
Jan. Okay, January, maybe said, well
made you go for a Jimmy is a might be able to put in tonight.
I can imagine what? Not you go for, Jimmy, they're
fantastic. Little car to buzz around town.
I can stall. It's still quite capable gone.
Offroad, very capable and not condense how it behind my van when I go around. Australia, cool.
So is it a manual or an order Jim order?
Okay. Okay, so it might have to
trailer it. I don't any I don't not sure how
or whether it whether they're terrible goodbye to tell it.
So there you go. Wow.
That's good. You gonna check our yum a little
D or a little little Gee kid on it to make it look like yeah that's what he wants to do. The dealer mentioned at all,
whether the photos are taking orders for the four doors yet?
No, he didn't mention not one thing about the four-door it whatsoever, Ivan build it. Imagine how gangbusters afford
or one would go. They are building a four-door
already they've got the plans and Concepts and I believe they're going to be out in 2023 in India.
Okay set a four-door is out there.
Is it is it a is it a Japanese built car or Indian?
All the tutors are japanese-built.
Yeah. From what the dealer tells me,
but I believe the Ford or may not be okay.
Let's see, we'll see what happens there.
That will be interesting to see what.
So on, top of that, my daughter got her car smashed into she's already not kept to her. And she had a park in the
parking spot and someone drove out of the car park and took out her Front plastic guard and crack that in half the bumper bar. So the so Basically the people
that smashed into it were an elderly couple and they're quite nice, it actually walked into the shop asking if they would know who the owner was of the car that they just smashed.
Oh, and they have to be talking to my daughter at the time who was working in that shop. So now I'm going for all
Insurance hassles. So I want every bit of paperwork
is in the world. I tell you under the world.
Yeah, just to and it's not even your own fault.
You think, you know, here it is, he's dead.
Details is a name, this is what's happened.
You fill out the online claim form and then they'll want more information and send you out another Form then fill out that other form. But ask yourself sometimes, what
are you paying for in those services?
Like really, what are you paying for?
Absolutely. So, it's pretty disappointing.
But whilst I was doing all that I found the insurance company also dropped evaluations or several of my cars.
So, we had a great value, the previous here, and they've dropped that agreed value down by four or five thousand dollars. So I said well there's no way I
can buy that car for ten thousand dollars.
It's 15,000 plus dollar car. Yeah.
Goodbye. Go out and buy one and so they
could put it back up again. So that was good.
Well how do you watch though? Hmm.
But you do need to keep a watch of that every year.
So just keep an eye on you Insurance values, even though you agreed on it, they do tend to change it on you and Harley's AMG. 36. Yeah, I'll put that up to
20,000. They finally agreed to put it up
a bit to twenty twenty thousand and my F100 was also dropped a little bit so that's back up to 15,000 as well.
So I've sort of sorted out the sort of some of the valuations are some of my vehicles. Yeah.
And we actually do all the E30 BMW that's had some work done to it a bit of TLC, a new fuel pump, new real Bonnet, strut relay switch. It's all running nicely again in
the body. It doesn't hit my head anymore
and open up the bottom. It's fantastic.
That's a good thing. It's a good thing.
Yes. I been working on that be
working on a man cave as well. We're gonna come back and see
this thing. Yeah, you'll have to come around
your posters hanging up there. My man cave might not come back
now. You're missing one.
What my blue bird? Yeah, you Bluebird one, he
didn't come. Limit.
I'll be seeing you so yeah that's pretty much it on the calf right now. I'm not having started any more
projects of stalled, the 380 SEC still the main car, my project list to do. So that's the next car that's
going to be worked on. Yeah, I see ya.
So yeah that is quite a few things I want to do with again.
I'm looking at getting a double car, park hoist, put up in a workshop so I can then Park walk or me cars down a workshop in one place rather than having some at home.
So I'm at the workshop. Another one up in the other
house in July long. Yeah they're all over the place.
Yeah. Yeah.
Even though they're all on the cover which is good except for the F100 at the moment it's actually out outside in the rain but I'm going to take that out of the room before.
So why did they do tend to rust pretty clear pretty badly?
They do tend to go back to the Earth at which they came, they sure do. Yeah, that's that's that's us
updates. For me I fused a few things, the
Merc I'm having a thank God Squad is on the show.
The Merck has had some issues. What broken Maddie that's
broken. It's weird.
Cause you'd rather it's fine and then you switch it off and go to start again like two minutes later.
So I feel this at last it's Wednesday because Wednesday for me and my friends at work is Kebab.
Do we go up? We go up, we go get, we call it
Wednesday, bad day, it's a good day and we go get kebabs for lunch, obviously. So we took the milk wine on the
way there. Get a kebab walk at about five
minutes later doesn't want to start.
Start put it in Drive put my foot on the accelerator it dies and I'm like well this is this is embarrassing.
I've got my stew. My school walking past me.
Looking at me like, I'm an idiot.
I'm just not going to comment and send it to my car park and like I can't, you move the car. I've got about the other stuff
in the car that I just like, we gotta get back to work.
We are in Period, 5, and I mean, why, why is it doing this?
So I'm actually I'm going to choose like to get it back to work and I was like, I don't know, it's really weird.
You don't have to work. I had to like feather the
throttle because if I put too much or it just died so I was like, oh so good just kind of just take it easy.
It doesn't work. I'll do it after work.
I can't even look at her right now.
It's I'm kind of frustrated. Hang on, let's go.
I think that. Sorry.
How was the command? It was amazing.
Continue. They're always good to ask you.
How do you guys get your kebabs but but will feel like we feel that question in a second. These are the these are the more
important questions than cart obviously.
And Obviously we go back in, it was still warm and it was, it was good in the garlic sauce, which is perfect.
So, then afterwards about 6:00, I got to leave and it starts perfectly and drives perfectly and I'm like, well, I must have had like I like some dirty fuel or something and because I was always the one I checked the plugs.
All opposed we're good at everything, everything seems fine I drive higher and plenty of power up and go easy.
Get a home, switch it off mic. Well it's fine go inside and
then I realize a lifestyle I mean, the cost I go back out to stop the car and does the same thing again.
So I just like, through my head's on the like, I'm like this car hates me. This car, actually hates me
like, I've fixed you, and I've defended you against Scottie and Alum and after the curse of the free car, Maddie, it is the curse of the free car. But why does the LTD run
perfectly? Like why?
What why is that the case? And I was free.
That's a Ford. That's a fair point.
So, so I've decided that's it. I'm done with it.
I'm going to see what it needs and just move it on.
Move it on the LTD. I'm polishing up hopefully this
weekend because the people that wanted to buy it now backed out.
So I'm going to sell it. So I'm going to clean it up,
move that on. So I'll so free up some space
for the incoming hopefully vehicle which we'll talk about when a never arises. Yes, so those two I think I'm
officially done like it's like, the ultimate he's done.
Nothing wrong. To be fair except that except
catch for her to make to Rob, almost burn his house down, pop that, it's done. Nothing wrong.
I've never drill the hole, the quarter panel so quickly But anyway, I was a, but it was a funny story.
So yeah, that was that corrupt. I took the again, I drove the
fiesta back down to the great ocean road again last weekend because I'm we met up with Steph's brother and his family, they've driven over from, from Adelaide.
So, we met them in Lon, had lunch in Lon, and, and drove back. And yeah, I really enjoyed
driving it now, and now, dad's running.
And I just hit 2,000 cases in it, you know, plenty of power, plenty of torque, but it's not overpowering.
And it's just a really nice kind of balance and yeah, really, really happy with it. So, I, yeah, I've decided that,
you know, it's this is, this was a good decision, that's finally.
It's finally come to come to finally come to my senses.
Okay. Finally, finally, I was like,
okay, I like this car now. So that's that lasers firing
drive the MR2 on the weekend, but also we took out the xr8 as we as we went to hide, All cars & Coffee nail, the X-ray, just had a bit of work done on it, on the paint, had a couple of rough spots on the boot lid. So got that sorted.
And on the front garden had some random antenna.
That was like, an aftermarket addition had that all filled in and had a big thing on the guard fixed as well.
And they uses this product. I never seen it before we come
in until it's super cheap. But it's like a it's like a,
it's like a colored trim restore and they put it on the on the red of the near the register. Red kind of the strip that goes
around the car and it looks vibrant.
It looks back to read, brilliant.
So so yeah, really come up really well.
I'm happy with the job and yet took them both to hire, which will, which I guess what? I wish.
I guess we can segue into that into that.
Now, we're high ball on the weekend, which was just a good day, new venue. It was just like a, I think, I
mean, there's still this do want to do this by Chinese, but it was a bit of a different venue. And so this was at the mall in
cheese. Is it moonee ponds there or no?
It's all straight, it's near. It's not Brunswick.
It's so good Coburg yogic. So right?
When the Polytechnic is on just off, Belfry wipe your pew, pew, pew. So, when there are some really
cool cars for the day, I'd always 80s and 90s seemed but everybody seemed to rock up in whatever they wanted.
So so which was which kind of took what we're talking Saiyans.
I got While taking a 90s car taking an 80s car, you know, it'll be a bit of fun. Yeah.
Look, it was a good event as it normally is plenty of diversity.
Plenty of interesting cars. There was a dozen Diablo there
which are, which I hadn't seen or heard of a mustard yellow and it's about swimming 10 or 15 years of actually seen one in the flesh. So that was kind of cool.
I'm not really a Supercar fan but I kind of don't mind those even the health even though they're terrible.
Yeah, the whole bunch of interesting cars.
There are plenty of Plenty of Mercedes and BMW from the nineties, which is really cool to see.
And Alex has been on the show a few times park next to so he's got an M6 and he's at the plate, s85 M6 thing, I think it is and he parked next to a E39 M5 which had s what was the motor in that one knee as Sakura what it was. But I had just had that.
And then next to that was a was an E36 M3.
So don't be 46, M3 with the plate as As 52.
So they had kind of like you know the engine codes and the and and they're willing black and I was like they'll kind of made for a cool picture. So it was pretty, it was pretty
excited about that and and stuff like that, they had some there, like some some jumping RC cars, which got half of them got destroyed because they just got broken and jumped so high that they broke the puppet. That was a really, really good
day. If you stand out, cars, and I
know David, and I'm pretty sure, Hollywood.
It would have seen some of the cars from it from the event.
What cars took your fancy gentleman?
A few certainly got a lot of lot of coverage that Unimog certainly got a lot of coverage. Yeah, that was cool.
That's that's the biggest car park worry.
I think. I can think of actually actually
using probably even more with some got more height than a than a Hummer but much cooler car and made Andrew wiglesworth with the the beautiful to Magnus station wagons has pride of place in the Center of the mall. I saw that was great, but some
really there's a lovely current model, 9/11 anniversary said, 70th Anniversary Edition in fish silver, the colors called imagined spending a lot of money on a car and the color is called fish. Silver takes all sorts, I
suppose. But, but that look pretty
impressive. But of course, a lot of the old
ones, to always cool to see and they come out of the woodwork for that event, but it was really the whole, the whole Streak of the thing was was and why the Magnus were front and center? I think, was that, it was, you
know, 80s and 90s cars. And, and that's sort of, I don't
know, dare I say well, some people would consider them dagi I suppose, but that was the whole shtick of the that having it there. I think.
But some people consider portions daddy icebergs, but I'm just trying to look and see what else I can find on him.
Instagram that struck out all the Green Golf.
There was a decent golf. Yeah, it belongs to a guy at,
you know, through the trade and I think the colors cool Viper green or Dragon green. I can't remember.
Is that original paint original paint so it's an 80.
I think it's an 80 model or 81 sitting on beautiful gold 15-inch BBS rims. It that The Stance was just on
point. It just looked fantastic sitting
on the on the air and that got a lot of love.
So a lot of photos of that. Yeah, that was a very cool car.
Like that that really stood out. I thought.
Yeah. Out of all the cars that were
there that was probably one of the one of the yeah you're right. One of the standouts on say
there was some really cool cars, though.
They're like this this week and I know the guy that does the one the guy that oh yeah I guess. Yeah.
Everything cool photo of those and I 30 and I was to gamble.
He's name, is there they go? Alastair Campbell and Andy, I 30
and next part like in, you know, in their race or their performance. Yeah.
Mark next to a bright yellow 850 our wagon and he had both the, the like the matchbox eyes cars or hopeless eyes cards in his hand. And I was like that was like the
perfect shot and it was brilliant, wasn't it?
It's okay. To come in on his poster with it
was it was brilliant. It's got some little up for
that. Yeah, that was a crack out.
That was ugly. What I want one of my one of my
more favorite ones that that that he's done.
But yeah the Unimog was pretty crazy.
It was just it just came in and everybody was like, holy crap.
What the hell is that? Like, that's, that's, that's
something out of this world. But yeah, I really liked it
because like, a lot of the cars at that like Dad did come where we're from the 90s and the 80s and there's something about Carson that Euro that. I mean, they're these did so day
that they're kind of cool if that makes sense.
Like it just, it just they just Kind of work, like there was a Subaru Vortex, which I've seen a few times before that, that actual car but that just personified that that are are and and the to magners and you know, like there were some really cool car cast in that era and it was just good to see like they had a DeLorean which is which just personify the 80s.
If you ask me, they had their, yeah, you had that's a great Porsches. But both are in terms of the new
stuff. There was a few LPNs there,
which surprised me because I don't see one before in real life, the quite a Cable car? I don't know if you guys have
seen him in in rural, I didn't think that would, that would that small. But yeah, they were, they were,
they were small Mercedes eqs this to, yes, I saw that they did. Keep me from what you had an AMG
badge in the back at the moment. 53 AMG s and their 398,000 laws.
So how much that car is worth? Yes.
Well, that's it. I'd like a few options about is
that 398. If you price went up with all
the options in it body, how to track pack and stuff.
And that was and that actual car there was virtually 500 so four hundred thousand dollars. Yeah they started 356 or
something about 358, vo base with no options but carbon Ceramics you get the tiny Track Pack.
You can get lots of other different type of I come to driving what kind of stuff you know.
But like that's like that's a Jew murder.
Yeah. That's that's that's the best
one. That's like their top one.
So serious like a drill mode of. But 664 M range or something.
Okay, that one does. No, I'd like why couldn't
justify that price on a car like that?
Like, I can't even be car. Let's look great.
No doesn't. Yeah, I can imagine the research
on them is not going to be too good, and you don't like coming in. Like you.
Look at the Mercedes-Benz website, you can buy like they're the kind of like changing We just bought online now. Yeah.
There's a lot in stock. Yeah.
Funny that yeah, there's a lot of stock you give.
There's a lot of them. Oh, geez.
Anyway yeah, good luck to Mercedes.
I like I know you probably will sell them here.
They discounted. I'm assuming one of my
favorites. That was there was an RS4 wagon.
Did you guys see that one? The blue iris full wagon?
That, that looks cool. And I was like, that's scary.
I'm not a big 80 fan but that was the, how old, like an older one or a? I like the v81.
So like in mid-2001. Okay, I'm not really good with
the model code. And Audi's, but good-looking car
manual V8. I was like, that's, that's
really cool. So I did like that a lot,
actually. I thought that was pretty damn
cool car. Just try to see what else was
there. There was, there was, there was
a fair few, your prize, you said Porsches and, and there was a, there was a GT V Alpha, which was really good.
Nick actually, there was a bunting brought his, his Subaru wagon down, he Liberty. Bertie wagons that was cool.
But the car that the one picture that kind of got me was was really cool. Was the there was a, you know,
LM doubler to park next to a 60 series.
Like result? Yes.
Yeah. Like that was like 80s to a tea.
Like that was so cool. I was I was a big fan of those
because like they just two different Gear cars from that era but they also had that really clean XJ.
Grand Cherokee, like in that blue color.
That thing looks stunning. That's a beautiful color at a
Wagoneer. They had a Humvee, so that they
had a bit of everything kind of really rock up on the, on the day, which will, which was, which was pretty cool to see.
So overall I thought it was a it was a pretty good event Patrick for you. There was some there's plenty of
Sylvia's there, there was plenty of 13s 14s and 15s they were they were definitely definitely out in force on the day.
That's for sure. Definitely.
To come to next higher ball event.
That's for sure. Absolutely.
Yeah you definitely you definitely enjoy it.
Tho it wouldnt. They're they're they're they're
cracking event. They always put on a good show.
I see there are a few photos to of a very cool light 70s Volvo 240. Wagon the great Chief 245, the
green one. Yeah.
Yeah lowered it had they look like steel he's actually on it.
Yeah lowered. Nice roof, rack that would that
look cool. Did I was definitely definitely
using it to later for Volvo engine under the Bonnet but I can't quite tell ya. That was even the Venetian
blinds in the back. That's cool.
Yeah, it was and it looked like it went up to it real nice and close and it looked like the patina had been kept.
So what they did was they looked like they just cleared over it, to stop it from rusting or getting worse.
Yeah. Which I was like, that's cool
because I like that for me. I would do something like that
to that car. And keep the patina Reza.
Reza was just, you know, clear over it because it wasn't too far gone. It just just needed a bit of
love and and I think how they did it really worked well.
So I was, I was like, yeah, that looks that looks fantastic.
They had a dad, probably the most amount of AE86 I've ever seen. They had probably like, six or
seven of them are like, I could, you know, there were, there were absolutely everywhere. There was one that was done, as
in keiichi tsuchiya is like a mock-up one.
With, with the carbon fiber green, green, Green Bonnet.
And That's all I know. So I thought that was pretty
cool. Plenty of GTR.
If your GTR, there was fan there was enough there for you.
I'm trying to think what, like there was a whole, but there was just a hole, but it was just too much.
Like, it's an event that there's just too much to look at like that. You can't really just, you can't
take your eyes off at all. See a Corvette for for our
American fans, but one of my favorite cars that came on the day was just really original even had the factory exhaust on it GCA. WRX in green, probably, the
cleanest original. WX.
Other analog was very original like, you know, that like the paint chips and stuff, but just super nice like super clean came in. You couldn't even hear it as I
just, you know, just really quiet and and I'm like, wow, that was I have not, I can remember the last time I've seen a stock like, like, on the road stock.
GCA WRX, not another cool car was there was a double you sorry-ass, 124 wagon. I sitting on Ox that, with that
looked really, really tidy with the ing body kit on it.
That looked quite nice. Yeah, plenty plenty of cool cars
there for the day. So and lots of minis.
There was a road mean he's at one point which would show me.
Show me a bit excited as I do, we need.
So yeah, that's pretty much it for that day.
Plenty of other great cars that were there though.
So your true. That the next one will have to
see you guys, all they're moving on gentlemen, Neil, we like to do these when they come up on Auction the latest Shannon's options. Now, we know car prices are
going a bit with my own but I think they kind of stabilizing hopefully. Do you have we seen what's
coming up on the latest auctions gents look like else, okay.
Brown one is the aleph a Lexus LFA is 1.3 mil.
If I want one, is it the one that was out?
Dozens forever. Do they have a white one?
Did they, they did have oil on you, okay, probably the car I'd say that. Not that many of them in the
country. The harder, not to me ever.
Nope. So it's yeah, it's not a from
today. So viewing all lots David Prince
you bringing this up earlier. So yeah, is there was quite a
fair few for sale. There's there's well, they're
actually doing the Sydney and Melbourne.
Auctions simultaneously. So either up to, there are 221
lat so that that's that's obviously about double given that there are 22 different options as a sprinkling of WRX, has to door for 50 to 70 price. Guiding range is to Pajero Evo
wagons. Wow.
Okay. Two of them live.
Psych looking at that looking at.
Miramonte one's got mud flaps. One hasn't, they're both 60 to
70 grand. Actually be a bit of a tough
decision deciding between the LFA kupe and Peter Brooks 73 GTR race car because that's also on offer for between price guiding range of 900 thousand to one point two million, just lazy lazy. I'm looking at the, the VG
Valiant Is there a nice little wheels and looks really, really tidy. 40 to 50 Grand? What block numbers that A Lot.
Number 96, it looks to be a really nice original car.
Well, I'm not originally. It said, it tells you paint and
then you have a few things done to her, but it's got a 265, which is, which is the famous Himi 265, which is a great engine. Yeah, yeah.
Like all I really like it. I think, I think it's a, it's a
very cool car. You're 40 to 50 the price guide.
Range on that piece which I think is what I think.
There's still under appreciated those.
Those things do. It was a charger.
Be a lot more, obviously or mineiro be a lot more.
This is original Mini for sale 15 to 25 that light looks a lot like adds a 69 mini. It's a mini K.
That one they've got coming up for auction, which was the hybrid one earlier, Australia. Got it.
Hence the cake because the case stood for It had little kangaroo stickers on the, on the bottom of the front guards.
So their ilk I think there are Eleven Hundred CC's.
Those sort of a mash-up of the last of the round nose in the start of the Clubman and they said, they had flush door handles and things like that. Little, tell me if I'm right or
wrong, a big, these any guide prices or yeah.
So yeah. So a lot more than what the
state agency? That's right.
That's right. It's really interesting.
There's a huge selection cars, sort of between that 15 to 25 range. Now everything from an XP Falcon
Coupe to a bun, fine Ford console Cortina to door.
You know, that that minis in that price.
Range is a nice Rover P6. It's a car for Patrick here.
Select your GT 487 165, I do like those a lot.
Well, so that's your that's your Patrick after the show to Tool and draw a To a Range Rover price guide range, 38 to 48 so and no reserved interestingly heat might have gone out of those a little bit perhaps or maybe not a very good.
Good example. They fishing Crazy Prices those
Range Rovers. Yeah, absolutely.
The only ones that I think the price guide range is a bit low but unless this I haven't read the description unless there's something wrong with it sort of thing.
But it's a it's a range of it'll have definitely something wrong with it. It is any 46 manual, Coupe
cheese have crept up in value like that, they're 70 to 80 grand now. That's the that's the price,
that's kind of the guided price for that.
Kind of a gear Cabral 45 to 55 thousand dollars.
The lottery coming. Dear yeah, do domestic content
that speaks to it? Well, that's a good price.
The God bless ya. Yeah, well, I'll keep in a keep
on with that guys. For because I'm There is a
millionth of a millionth addition, XD jail, did you guys say that? I saw that two years.
So silver. Yeah, millionth addition, I
think that sense for the other Millions Falcon sold or millionth car. So I think Millions Castle in
Australia for working for memory, so that was kind of cool. I do like a V xss.
I think that I think and especially in white, there's one for sale but cheese 20 to 25 Grand is a lot of money.
But yeah, there's a modify modified be F-TYPE.
Soon, 40 to 50 Grand. I'm looking at that.
Now, it's always a little tricky.
Marty boy, what color is this? I actually I bought that the
other day, I actually went down and had a look at the S s-- 600 coupe. That it's down there with a
guide range of 30 to 35. The 65 Honda is 600 coup, and
the Mighty boy, is parked next to it.
And I've got to say, I was quite surprised to see the Mighty boy there. It's not sort of the typical
Shannon's car, especially when it's Been re sprayed, in Ram said or engine, it wasn't a particularly impressive car on any level. Really but funny you mention
that I've seen remember what the for your Revolution started.
Yeah. Funny.
You mention it. I came across a Honda S600 the
other day going on. Such on Avenue.
Nice is 666. That's more my cup of tea that
one but nice little car. I've only done it twice.
Say one of these before. Yeah, it's not the same engine
is my in 1660 turbo, they the S6 60s which is obviously the, you know, the truth, the new version of the S600, basically, they go for quite a bit more money, you're paying.
I haven't seen any under about 37 and a half Grand.
Okay, pushing 50 sort of, for some of those.
Wow, if you can bring get one in from Japan that's can talk top here at home. Of tip while they're still cheap
or cheaper up there, they're actually stopped producing them in Japan to. So that's just going to make
them even more valuable I think. Wow, the Mighty Car Mods are
exceptions up for sale as well. By the way it is.
It is yes assume that to no Reserve but you know it's going to go crazy money. Yeah we could all fall together
and do it will be the cost Fork RX7.
What a Girl Wants? Yeah.
Yeah. The Promenade even get their
logo in the catalog actually it's the only car in the whole catalog. That's actually got someone's
logo next to it. Providence.
And on that bombshell, long-term also having to leave.
I apologize, gentlemen, it's been a lovely sure, Robin.
Are you going to win the quiz for me?
Okay, I'll try listen. Yeah, I'll catch you guys later.
All right, I'll take care. Thanks.
You got to buy one car from this auction.
Where's the money going Sleek? Oh, I'll go sleep.
I like it. Good choice.
Y'all to be the wagon that was there.
Now, it's just a four door to door.
Was it that you do 100? The WRX, I know the wagon you're
talking about Maddie, the L Series wagon.
Cool, okay. Well you could guess probably
nearly every car in In the auction and you wouldn't guess the one other I'd go for, like, 127 a 1979, hold and VB Commodore SLE 4.2 L sedan. Well, that would be your car.
It needs a little bit of love, but it's pal.
A white with the red valua trim. Lots of red velours died to trim
that interior. Got to tell you what load is it
121 when 27 20 to 25,000 Prost? Guiding range, No, Reserve.
That just brings back, very good memories that car, my dad had a border of work, car is 79 VB brand-new, which was his wasn't, I was one of the SLE but of course, I never had any say.
So it was based model the Bas vinyl seats, Atlantis blue, over blue, and I got to drive around Bathurst on our plates.
So that's called a pretty cool. Well, they like to drive back
then, will they? Will they comfortable and, and
refine on our revelation, after you know anything else?
Yeah, in fact, the VB that I thought that the handling that pedal Annenberg is set up with the right nutrients.
Suspension was actually so sharp.
They actually had to dumb it down a bit for the VC.
So they actually it was less direct and add a bit more of you know, playing the steering wheel has the thing because the babies were So European, and so sharp that they had a lot of complaints that they were just too too tricky, you know, to drive, but as good a cut it had the old 20 to read motor in it so the the drivetrain probably didn't match the, you know, the Dynamics of the car anyway, but I do remember, you know, I was
just wrapped, I thought it was, you know, I thought was so cool to have a new Commodore because that hadn't been out very that.
I like being out about six or eight months.
But the build quality was probably the most abysmal build quality I've ever seen on a new car.
Coming out with a four-cylinder at the same time the ZB?
No, no. The V, the four-cylinder
encounter the VC VC. Okay.
Yeah. So the vp's, the 2850 was the
base engine. And then the 3300 was the was
the, they all 2002 was the most popular one.
And then the SLS, all had the fork went to as standard in, in the vehicle. Diapers diapers in the
headlights headlines here yet. Yeah but we're you could draw at
that car. Things would fall off that car
as you drove it down the road that we know this would come off in your hand. You know, I remember one day in
the rain is dead was driving me to school in the windscreen wipers sort of started not talking to each other and that actually chewed out. This, the line, the splines of
the other on the, on the wipers. So it wasn't wasn't that great
can't build quality wise but my first look at one of those was I was actually Europe. That particular step back in the
80s. Okay, it's going around
everywhere. And I got, wow!
These are great looking car and the next thing we know we've got one of them. Yeah, yeah.
But they come in a convertible over there as well.
Yes. Yeah.
Yep. And then we got the, we got the
wagon light in the VB so that was a pretty significant car and of course I bit smaller than the agency.
The agency continued on for another sort of 18 months I think after the Commodore came out, but I didn't know No I didn't know they had said and when side by side?
Yeah yeah and of course the eight the WB commercials and and statements and stuff, but you know that eighth Sid certainly continue. They they sort of had a foot in
both camps. They sort of wanted to, you know
see how this new, you know, smaller European car win and but you keep the Kingswood that all the all the farmers are going by because that had Holdings one. Was there a joke about the Ahmad
always Peter Brock actually took one on the Richter.
Reliability trial. Yeah, so many spare parts with
him all the way around the country.
Yeah. Well cut the cameras came first,
second and third in the Repco reliability trial.
Yeah. And it was like a military
operation to actually, you know, keep them all in place.
Actually that car. I think that the winning car is
at the. I saw a couple of months ago at
the Bathurst Museum. Oh wow, at the foot of the
Mountain. They've got the Repco
reliability car there. I don't know much about this.
Ripken reliability, what was this?
It was, what was the rubble. So the rally back in the Red X
trial is a red x 12. So they had him used to go way
back with you all the cars but it was just approved.
A reliability of the can actually go right around Australia. Hmm.
And the car that made it around Australia without breaking down and you know making it a reasonable timeframe would sort of guests And acolytes and actually promoted the cars through, you know, the reliability trial and how would they work? That's right now sponsored by
various other manufacturers and like you know, Repco force and so on here. So it was.
So it was a pretty big thing was couldn't actually follow.
Yeah, but you do remember, going up to them to buraq in central Victoria and watching a stage or, and all as the cars.
All came screaming passed in the on the do.
Dirt, roads and stuff. But yeah, that was pretty
punishing, you know, not not nearly as many cars finished.
It started got a great book about it.
If you're interested. Next time around Manny, I'll
show you. Yeah, great.
It was over about two or three weeks, I think.
I mean it was quite a long project, you know, obviously to get right around Australia. But yeah the The Story Goes that
Holden wasn't going to be losing that event.
They it was 1979. So it was just just when they're
you know, the Commodore been at about six months of Thor, right?
Well this is what we need. Of course, it's was based The
Commodores based on the Opel rekord record yet.
Yeah. And they were testing them
extensively before hand and had to reinforce the firewalls because they were sort of the, the Opals.
Once they got the middleware back, south Australia, they had the firewalls habit, had a habit of cracking evidently.
So they Yeah, well not when I saw that in The Shannons auction, I thought I'll look at that, that brings back memories.
There you go. It's look at it.
It looks all there is it looks, it's probably it's probably due for like a, like a wrestler, but I wouldn't say would, it wouldn't need much to keep it wouldn't match.
You could make that car look really good with a good detail.
So what the original blaupunkt stereo they had that was a big selling point with the VB z i was the best of Europe.
And you know, and that's why they had the windscreen wipers on the headlights because that I think the only other car that does have a consult. Yes, jobs.
And I think they're optional on some vendors and stuff like that. So the fact the SLE had them as
standard and you could even in the SLC could actually get a Euro pact. So the pack the option packs are
all bunched together as like a code.
So often you'll see a 310 pack or 420 pack on the back in the day with her being advertised, you know?
But there was a Euro pact which gave you the VB the SLE we Alloys and the wipers on the headlights and I think it picked up the inertia intermittent wiper control on the dash and a few other bits and pieces but yeah, obviously the lower trim.
Of course, yes. You you made a different.
I was much more preferable to the vinyl or kind of continue that and fibers. Anyway, we digress No, look, I'm
reading throwing, it's actually kind of a cool car.
It's it's a lot of history in that car with the baby.
Like it's at it seems it's a one family owned Carson's new.
So hmm. Not a probably a probably a good
one to put away. I reckon I reckon absolutely.
I think it's I think it's I think it's quite quite good and of course white with red interior, you know what, a lot of them happen happen to them. They became Brock replicas.
So the first stage HDT was a VB and that was with the Amish wheels and the but they had read in black and white and black.
My black and red, I thought I might be the only black and white with the red interior so and there's a lot of reading those interior. So all of all the roof lining
and the pillars and everything. So just as a basis for a replica
HDT Commodore that would be desirable in itself, you know, so wanna go for so you'd have that over the the was an S600.
That was it? And Robert.
Are you taking see this topic to be?
Yep. WRX.
So we've got to be Works. VB 4.2 Patrick's taken this
legal Duty for. So your duty for why Patrick
sick car and the just don't see many of them around man.
And yeah, I don't know, you know, getting a old drive force on the turbo 3 Sgt, manuals just yeah.
Is it is a pop-up or is it the popups?
I'm gonna be a surprise but I prefer the other the second gen.
Yeah. Croatian.
The more Angry are so called a look at the silica, I know just me but the pop-up still just a school.
I reckon, I don't think the GT40 was sold new here with the popups. I don't, it wasn't the only the
third gen was 205 which is the more aggressive one mature what you're doing? The one with the history about
cheating which is the yes. Which one would I take?
I would there's really cool mark one GTI there.
Yeah one problem with that car left and drive steering wheels on the wrong side. Yeah I did see that French car.
You know what I'd have to say? I would take the Sleek entreaty
for to Patrick, you know? That is my that is definitely my
pick and I was going to ask Holly but he's really going.
So, Yeah, I'm not sure. What do you take?
I mean, he likes the skylines. There's one there was there.
Yeah, there is a third. Yeah, many attack like to 19.
1993 Skyline R32 GT-R v-spec. And one prostrating range two
hundred and forty, two hundred and eighty thousand dollars.
How to adjust? Just like, just like yeah, yeah.
Just maybe, maybe, maybe if I was rich, I can understand.
But I'm not far from her size. Yes.
Yes seems a lot of money for a card out to me was mass-produced. But yeah, I hold my tongue.
Absolutely. You know the bag and I reckon of
the whole thing is and talking about iconic cars and yes, it's a bit Dagon. Yes it is Japanese but not 2005
is a 69, Toyota Corolla ke 10. I saw that.
Yeah. Regional shape Corolla eight to
twelve thousand dollars price. Guiding range it.
It's white with red interior. Very classic period, color
combination, like, the Commodore and and not, not, not perfect, but needs a little bit of love. But yeah.
