You know, the Indy 500, the final lap, right?

Indy 500 day tremendous.
It was a great celebration.
No Grand Prix of Monaco, but the Grand Prix of Monaco is this weekend.
I kind of in the morning didn't like it in the mid afternoon.
Thought it was just fine.
I got my my Formula One race in.
Lewis Hamilton, good run.
Best run for Lewis with Ferrari period and the story.
This camey Antonelli is incredible.
But let's let's hone in on the final lapse of the Indy 500.
This is why it is the greatest spectacle of racing.
And I think to myself that this David Maluchus is, you know,
waking up 23 nights a week.
I was so close that I wasn't.
I have your own request.
Oh, how do you?
It was mine to win.
But he said he said all the right things.
That kid said all the right things.
I'm honored to have been a part of that moment.
But on the inside, you know, he's got to be thinking if I had just
did something different, I don't want to suggest what it should have been.
But something different somewhere in that last half lap.
Well, man, not like I win.
That's what he needed to do.
Touching wheels.
Come on.
She was going to.
So I think you should have just kept.
There were a couple of times where he was swerving, where I felt like he.
Was scrubbing too much.
So he could have.
Right.
They could have just stayed going forward and stayed, try to stay in front of him
instead of move back and forth.
They were fighting in the Pacman.
They were fighting in the pack and he was weaving around.
And I think he was cut.
He cut some of his own speed.
But but in the end, the the Rosenquist, he was like fast all day.
And the Shank racing, they were they were leading.
They had a great car all day.
And so anyway, Indy 500 amazing Coke, 600.
But but how about though, you got to give kudos to Indy Indy car.
They had that caution come out, you know, and they quit quickly, regroup the cars
and got that last the final lap.
Green, white checkered run in.
And you're like, could you imagine how disappointing that would have been
for that race to just end on caution and make quick week and NASCAR had a lot of
issues, a lot of goodness.
And not getting it in, not able to start restart.
It was terrible.
The whole NASCAR situation would, you know, they kind of put your day a little bit.
And so definitely kudos to Indy car for getting stuff right and getting it together in time.
Yeah, the Kremlin of Crime races, they did it right.
They did it right.
So it was awesome.
You got to get a one and, you know, did kind of ruin the whole
Monaco spectacle and everything.
I thought Canadian GP was a great race between those two Mercedes going wheel to wheel
and Kimi kept trying to like overtake George and he couldn't do it.
And, you know, it seemed like if he was getting to George, George seemed a little
annoyed and, you know, who knows, maybe the car broke or maybe George drove it
a little overdrove it and had it break because right.
That's very possible.
On him, we don't know this kind of stuff, but, but definitely George lost his
cool once the car broke and he did.
You know, he did get a big fine for throwing all the stuff and, and, you know,
I'm being, you know, being a little immature, man.
We know he used to call out Max all the time for, for being emotional and angry.
You know, when the shoes on the other foot and the, and the kid is applying
the pressure, he's kind of lost his cool now a couple of times too.
So, you know, maybe 007 is not as cool as he comes across.
Clearly not.

The kid has won four in a row, man.
Four in a row.
The first person in history to do that, to win four in a row to start the
career or whatever that is first, first, first win consecutively.

That's three or more from the pole.

You know, I tend to not let things go past the week because I know that naturally,
you know, in three to four days, you know, if it's something normal,
common cold or just a regular, whatever it is, you know, it'll go through you in a few days.
But by the, you know, by the after a few days, it's like, all right,
this is a little bit more than the regular.
And so I, I don't know.
Look, so here, I feel like.
I feel like in the end, mistakes were definitely made and not knowing anything.
I'm going to say that Cow Bush ultimately decided like, hey, this is nothing.
If the doctor told me to rest, I don't have time to rest.
You know, some young guy is going to go in the car and run well.
And next thing you know, I know I never have a seat again.
You know, unfortunately, that happens in sports a lot where people play injured
for the fear of being wally pipped.

But since Dale Earnhardt, Jr., with the concussions and all of those things,
I thought we had gotten past that.
I would hope you've gotten past that.
I might think it's just because his passion to race and he loves it so much
and he wants to just keep racing regardless of what the exact details are,
which I like to think at some point will get the clarity because it's a teachable moment.
It's a teachable moment like, hey, guys, don't do this.
Yeah, I think this is a great opportunity for NASCAR and racing in general as a PSA.
Hey, get yourself checked out.
You know, not every person has to have a regular cold for a few days.
But after a few days, you know, you've got to go make sure it's not something more serious.

you instead of actually making you better.
It's real sad.
So while we celebrate the life and we celebrate the competitor and I didn't
like the way he carried himself.
You guys know, if you listen to the show, like it didn't have to be like that,
but that was just his.

I know me was kind of nice guy to the media and even to maybe some of his
competitors, Christ takes, he got into a fight with RCR, you know, with an old
man, Joe Gibbs, most the story, the first time he drove the car, he got out of the
car and he came over and he says, your car sucks.

But again, you know, he was a bit of a D, but that doesn't mean he should die.

I'm curious to know what shot he got at Markins Glen.
I don't know if it was like some kind of a steroid shot, but back in 2016,
I was going through some sickness and I got some antibiotics in the steroid pack.
One day you take so many pills and so on and so forth.
About 100 years the last day, there's only one pill to take.
Yeah, prednisone.
Well, I never ever finished those packs.
So I had some kind of stocked up.
So steroids, if you take steroids, those steroid packs,
it lowers your immune system when you take those.
I mean, it makes you feel great, but basically back in 2016, over about a three month period,
I had fined three.
And it was the, I can't really exactly when it was, but I think it's around Thanksgiving
that I went to or my wife and, I'm getting my dates mixed up anyway.
My wife was not at home.
Okay, I'm sorry.
I'm so sorry.

What is the, where are you going with this that you have made this mistake yourself?
Somewhat on month two, there was a situation in which my wife and mother-in-law were out of town
and she called me and I told her I was P 99s and just weird stuff and she called my dad
and he made me go to the emergency room and they took my temperature.
I was like 107.1 or something.
They got my favorite, they got my favorite to break and they sent me home.
Well, a month later, I wasn't feeling good.
It was right before Thanksgiving.
I went to the hospital and they said, you need to be admitted right now with IVs because you have a blood infection.
If you don't take care of it, you know, you're going to, it's going to kill you.
They never said it was, you know, some kind of second deal, but that's basically what it,
to my understanding, that's what substance is.
Yes.
That's what it is.
Blood infection.
Yep.
So I went into the hospital the day before Thanksgiving.
I was on three different antibiotics, two of which they couldn't let run at the same time.
They would run two and then stop it and then switch it.
I was on that until Sunday morning and they took me off of it and I got to go home.
I never missed any work.
That's what I was afraid of, but you know, it's important, you know, when you go to get a steroid pack,
a doctor is always asking you when's the last time you had one because they don't want to prescribe you those steroid packs, you know, consecutively.
I'm just curious if he has some kind of steroid medication, you know, that effected his immune system like it did me.
Yeah, it's just a scary deal, but I'm glad you're still around.

He was one of the maybe the most talented wheel turner car navigator that we've ever seen.
He is the winningest driver in Ascar history is now gone.
He's not with us anymore for reasons that are.
We will reveal themselves more, but there is a life lesson for all of us because I just had it with my mother.

I've been a big fan of the Amazon broadcast and their whole thing.
They've done a great job almost across the board universally in all those

They had some, uh, technical glitches, but, uh, we're, you know, that aside,
you can't have a Sunday night race that starts at 830 because of
rain delay and ends past 12 30 on the East coast.
I think it was one of the, I, I am.

I think it was 12 40 when it ended.
It was just past 12 30, you know, but it leaves very little for you to be able
to watch any of that post race and they give you a full hour after the race.
But I was in and out of consciousness by for the last hundred laps already
because if, if you're going to do a night race, it has to be Saturday night.
And I get the whole thing of the Sunday and maybe wanting to get the,
the ratings or the whatever, cause there's no other, there wasn't basketball
or any other sports and it's before football season.
I totally get it, but then you got to have that race started to twilight
and in the event that unforeseen circumstances like rain, because that
race didn't start till past eight 30.
And you know, it was over four hours.
It was, yeah.
I was trying to hang on to Gio.
I really was.
And I was like, I did fall asleep a couple of times and luckily I woke
up with, you know, enough laps to go that I got up and was able to watch
Danny pull his Danny magic there.
And I really want any Hamlet to finally win a championship and he deserves
it.
I feel like it's going to come away from him, whether it was bad luck by him, bad
pitch strategy by the, you know, by the crew chief or just overall Dars racing.
But I'm hoping that he can finally get it because what is it now?

and he definitely deserves.

But what about the fact that the start of the race, he's on pole and he jumped

It seems like almost everyone is still playing.
We've a couple of weeks ago, we were discussing how the, the Montreal
Canadians were still in the NHL playoffs.
Unfortunately for them, they went down to Carolina and the hurricanes
have just been a little too much.
There are 12 and one in their playoffs days.
Basically a gentleman sweep.
They dropped the first game to Montreal, but they won four after that.
So the finals and the NHL are set.
They begin Tuesday night.
Tomorrow you have the Vegas Golden Knights against the Carolina
Hurricanes and Vegas is one of those teams.
It's one of those weird years where a team that didn't even win 40 games,
which is would be 42 is they play 82.
So 41 would be half 500.
I believe the only one like 38 games or so.
And they made it all the way to the finals.
So you can't argue with that.
It's, it's a tough hockey is playoffs are very tough and they beat the
number one seed Colorado Avalanche.
They whooped them pretty good actually.
And here we go Vegas and Carolina.
The finals are set in the NHL.
Like I said, the battle for Lloyd Stanley Cup begins Tuesday night.
Tomorrow the NBA finals are also set as the defending champs go down.
Oklahoma City goes down to the young, young
and fiery and Antonio Spurs and the alien Wemby and all of those great
young players that they got from all of the tanking Dylan Harper and
Castle and Vassal and they just, it seems like all of their young players,
all of their player core players are young and we'll see, you know,
those things have a way of working themselves out.
Everybody thought Oklahoma City was going to dominate the league and break
the record for wins this year.
And just like that, some unexpected team like the Spurs comes up and the
Spurs are in the finals against the New York Knickerbockers back to the
finals for the first time since 1999.
The island is going crazy up there.
As you know, almost since it's not like football that you got jets and
jets and giants or baseball that you got Yankees and Mets.
There really is only one basketball team and that is the Knicks, the Nets,
Praline, Brooklyn now, but they historically were a New Jersey's
team and so really all of the basketball fans tend to be Knicks fans.
And you know, dare I say, I'm rooting for them to win it.
You know, they haven't won in our lifetime since, what, 1973?
The Willis Reed.
Willis Reed, that's it.
Our lifetimes.
We got a rematch of the 99 championship, San Antonio Spurs and the New
York Knicks.
And maybe the Knicks this time will pull it off.

They keep playing and shooting like if they were the Golden State Warriors,

But top to bottom, San Antonio does is, I would say is the most
talent, the better, more talented team.
But the Knicks have been playing on fire the last 11 games there undefeated.
They were down two to one in the first round to Atlanta and they have not
lost the game since winning by an average of way over 20 points.
It's unreal.
What they have shot lights out.
They're playing great defense and sometimes you got, you can ride a hot
streak like that, even if you're not the better team.
So I expect another.
And that's two nights from now, Wednesday.
And so yes, we are heat fans, which means we have to like we have a
vicious blood feud with the Knicks.
They hate the heat and Jeff Van Gundy still hanging out on
the Lonzo Morning's foot.

By the way, I hope that all those scalpers get stuck with all those tickets
from what I understand World Cup tickets are not selling any at the pace
that was expected.

OK, so historical highs, premium courtside seats have confirmed sales
approaching nearly 300000 dollars for a pair.

And if there is, it's probably cheaper to fly from New York to San Antonio,
get some tickets over there, eat at a nice steakhouse and fly back home.
And it'll probably be significantly cheaper than just going to the garden.

AJ Brown to the New England Patsy's.

For a couple of days, but really, really big news is the two time
and defend defense, you know, I guess reigning defensive player of the year.
Miles Garrett leaves the wasteland of Cleveland and he's going to Lollaland.
The L.A. Rams have traded Miles Garrett.
So, yeah, that's a huge move right there.
And in my opinion, it seems like it didn't cost them too much.
I believe a third rounder in 2027, a first rounder in 2028
and I think a third rounder again in 2029.
So and they did give up Jared versus a really good young player that they had.
But man, if you tell me a couple of potential picks that you, you know,
you're not going to find a Miles Garrett two time defending player of the year,
defensive player of the year in the draft in the next couple of years.
So that's a good move by them.
And they're securing their playoff roster.
Now they signed Matt Stafford to a couple of years contract extension.
So the Rams are all in for the next couple of years as always.
And so that's why you had some NFL news.
There's all kinds of other slight NFL news, like I said,
because the league year officially that June 1st designation is today.

And so it's wide open on the men's side.

I'm watching way too much of it this weekend because the hurricanes

It's just you know what baseball at every level is the same thing.
You allow if you can't play defense and you allow errors.
Those runs always seem to come back to score and the Keynes defense
is atrocious.
They committed about 80 something errors throughout the regular season
and in their postseason was no different for errors.
One game, five, the next game lost both.
And but the good news is that the Gators also lost FSU lost the number
one overall seed UCLA down Oklahoma was the one seed in
their region there out.
Lots of Cinderella stories in college baseball unlike basketball.
And my only explanation for that is that I believe the NIL money is
much less in baseball, but I think it's distributed more evenly
throughout the team unlike in basketball where or football that the
quarterbacks get all the money and one or two players get in basketball.
And so that's why you're seeing more upsets in baseball than any
of the other sports.
But highly entertaining games.
So is the women's softball been been loving all that all week and
long had one of the TVs going on that.

Well, I thought the racing was great.
I mean, first off, Angie Smith running, you know, she throws down a six 68 with a
three on the final round to win the race.
She's the 200th.
Woman, you know, winning a pro race for NHRA.
Um, I thought that was fantastic.
Um, Gianna Everisto going to 670 with a two at 204 98 was like incredible.
I was jumping up and down, just watching both of them between.
They were cutting lights, putting laying down solid passes.
And then when you sit there and think about what they went through with Matt
Smith being in the hospital, um, and, and couldn't be at the track.
I mean, it was great to see him when he showed up.
Um, it was great to see him there Sunday.
And, but you know, that spoke volumes.
And if you ever didn't, if you didn't think the racing community helped helps
each other that there, just go back and watch what happened with that team.
I mean, they had everybody pitching in and, and that's something that we love
about this sport is they are, everybody is willing to help one another out.
Um, Matt Smith couldn't be there.
And that was a highlight of the race.
Um, I thought that was great.
Uh, Lex June laying down a solid A to B path against Doug Coletta.

I thought was fantastic.
I mean, he was there.

Um, it was whatever the capacity was on Saturday, Sunday was 90% of it.

Well, it looked, was really hard.
Let me address that because it's really hard.
The pits are on the right hand side of the track where there are fewer bleachers.
It's kind of an unusual situation.
This track, most of their big races are races where people just go and sit in the
stands like they're going to a movie theater.
It was very bizarre.
People are getting there at eight in the morning, 750 AM and they were going up to
the grandstands, not on the pit side and just putting their sitting there and they
were just sitting.
They didn't walk around.
They weren't going to the pits.
They were just sitting there.
We're like observing them like, what are you going to do?
You can sit there all day.
You know, it's eight hours, right?
And no joke, man.
These people sat there for eight hours.
They sat and just watched drag racing.
But the majority of the fans went over to the other side where there was fewer seats
and they just packed in there.
I had some friends, you know, who were over there and they said they had to vacate.
They had to go back over to the other side.
They didn't mind walking around.
But that kind of threw off the whole thing because people want to be on the pit
side, but the big bleacher is on the non pit side and there's nothing we can do about
it.

Well, I mean, again, the racing action was great.
You didn't have a one lane track, but you know,
no, both lanes, when you were getting wins out of both sides.
The competition down to the end was fantastic.
The run, the final between Sean Langdon and Doug Coletta knowing Doug basically
did everything he could and he still got beat by what was it?
4,000.
10,000, 2,000, 0,0002.
The same amount that I gave up the stripe at and rocking it.

But I mean, he did his job, but that was a fantastic race.
And if you even think for a second, either one of them are going to lay down for one

And to be honest, I got to give a shout out to Jackie Frick getting it done in Top

with Gary Pritchett.
I know all the bunny percat, but kudos to Jackie Frick and that think racing
team congrats all the way around.
They they brought it and they brought home the took home the Diamond Wally.
So super excited for that team.
So yes, it was it was great.
You know, in that moment, I like Jackie a lot.

area turn?
There's no way to fix it for a 300 inch top fuel dragster to make a 180 turn
without doing a K, you know, like a three point turn.

I think that's just going to be part of it too.
People were a little, I know a lot of our Lucas oil series racers were annoyed
that there weren't more Lucas oil series cars invited.
There was top sportsmen and comp.
You couldn't fit.
You saw the size of that.

There was another, your, your operation, Dave and Sue, there was no place for you.
You guys could not have fit one more rig in that place.
We were there for a division way back and it was tight then.
So we knew it was going to be, look, they did what they had to do.

You can have your pros and it's going to be limited smaller sportsmen classes.

And some downtime and some downtime, which I'm okay with.
It's just that the people sit in the stands because I think it's not a reserved seat.
And so they're just sitting there.
They don't want to lose their seat.
And so they're just sitting there and there's nothing going on.
So I'm out there doing a game, giving away jets, jegs hats, trying to make something
happen, but it didn't, didn't work out.

seen go down the racetrack just over and over again, including the 345 343 that
happened in Gainesville.
Like the car is just going crazy straight.
And I asked him about that, but I noticed in Chicago for the first time I noticed

So I talked to him on Saturday after the two fast to taste him.
I was like, Hey man, you got the Max Papas wheel.

And so after the win, I told him that Brian Hewson had told the world that he had
the Max Papas wheel in there because it's not for me to report.
Hey, they got the wheel in there.
I mean, I guess I could, but that could be a secret too.

Well, I go Brian, the car's really going straight.

he reached out to me.
He's like, don't take them.
And I had already taken one.

He goes to the chances of that being bacterial is the next and on.
