gearbox
The gearbox is the part of a car that lets you change gears, like shifting from low to high speed, so the engine can run efficiently at different speeds.
The gearbox, or transmission, is the component that transmits power from the engine to the wheels and allows the driver to select different gear ratios for varying speed and torque.
