The Krause easy shift is a bolt-on part that helps your motorcycle shift gears more smoothly. It also makes it easier to get into neutral by changing how the shifter linkage sits.
The rear shift shaft is a rod that helps move your shifter’s motion to the parts that actually change gears. If a kit changes how it’s positioned, shifting can feel smoother and neutral can be easier.
Shift linkage is the mechanical “connecting parts” that move the shifter’s motion into the transmission. If that linkage is positioned better, the shifter can feel smoother and easier to use.
Neutral is the gear position where the engine isn’t driving the wheels. It matters because it can be annoying if it’s hard to find at stoplights or during slow riding.
Term
bagger shift rod
A bagger shift rod is a replacement or accessory part that helps your shifter move correctly on a touring-style bike. It’s basically part of the linkage that connects the shifter to the transmission.
“Milwaukee Eight” is Harley-Davidson’s newer V-twin engine design. People mention it because certain accessories and wiring setups work differently depending on which Harley engine you have.
“Twin Cam” is an older Harley engine type with two camshafts. It matters because some add-ons and charging setups may need different adapters depending on which engine your bike has.
A “stealth port” is a hidden charging plug on your motorcycle. It lets you power things like heated gear or USB chargers neatly, without ugly exposed wiring or ports.
“Heated gear plugins” are the power connections for heated riding jackets, gloves, or vests. They’re saying the new Stealth Port options can power that kind of gear.
A fuse is a safety device that cuts power if something draws too much current. They’re mentioning fuses because it’s safer and helps protect the bike’s wiring.
“12 volt” refers to the motorcycle’s electrical system voltage used to power accessories. Charging ports and heated gear plugs are typically designed to run on this 12V system, so the episode is emphasizing that the harnesses/adapters are compatible with 12V power.
The Jeep Commander is an SUV, meaning it’s a larger vehicle built to carry more people and luggage than a typical car. It’s designed for everyday driving and longer trips where you need extra space. It’s often used when you want room for passengers and gear.
The Ford F-150 is a large pickup truck made to carry things in its bed and tow when needed. People often use it for work because it can handle hauling tools, supplies, or other equipment. It’s also useful for everyday driving if you need a lot of space.
A hard cover here refers to a rigid protective lid/cover over a truck’s cargo area. It changes how you access the load—often requiring you to open the cover and reach into the bed area to move packages.
HogWorkz makes aftermarket parts for bikes. The point here is that they’re selling upgrades for Harley-Davidson and Indian riders, and the host says they’ve used the parts themselves.
A key fob is the small remote you use to control the car—lock/unlock and sometimes start it. Replacing one can be pricey, especially through a dealership.
LED lights are a type of light that uses small electronic chips to make light. They usually use less power and last a long time, which is why people like them for bikes and cars.
Smart plugs are outlets you can control with your phone. You can turn the connected lights on or off remotely, and sometimes set them to run on a schedule.
“Harley” means Harley-Davidson motorcycles. The host is saying Harley riders often want a better, cleaner way to add things like phone charging.
Car
Indian Road Master
The Indian Road Master is a touring motorcycle made by Indian Motorcycle. It has a built-in charging plug (an SAE port), but the host says it’s placed in a spot that’s inconvenient to reach when you want to power heated gear or other accessories.
An SAE port is a common plug on motorcycles that lets you connect accessories for power. People use it for things like battery chargers, heated gear, or USB charging without needing to rewire the bike.
A battery tender is a device you plug into your motorcycle to keep the battery charged when you’re not riding. In this segment, the host says the SAE port is meant for that, but it could also be used for other things.
USB charging devices are adapters that let you charge your phone or GPS using the motorcycle’s power. The host says the SAE port could be used for that, not just for keeping the battery topped up.
Term
USB charging options
“USB charging options” just means how many USB charging spots you have on the bike and how they’re arranged. That matters because some gear needs its own connection.
“Permanent mount position” means the charger is installed in a fixed spot on the bike. That helps keep the cable from flopping around and makes it easier to use every ride.
This is a small wiring adapter that changes one type of plug into another. It lets you power heated gear using a setup that was originally meant for a different plug style.
This means the power connection is mounted in the middle of the bike’s frame. The host is saying it’s placed under your left thigh so it’s easier to access.
This means the power connection is mounted higher up on the bike. The host is describing where it sits so you can plug in your heated gear more conveniently.
Heat deflectors are shields that help keep hot air and heat away from parts that shouldn’t get too hot. If you add them, you often need accessory mounts made to fit around the shield.
A pigtail here means a short set of wires that comes out from the motorcycle’s charging port. It’s there so you can plug in accessories easily without doing complicated wiring.
An SAE connector is a common plug style used on motorcycles for accessories. It lets you power things like heated gear without permanently wiring everything in.
A coaxial barrel is a specific kind of power plug where the parts fit together in a tight, centered way. Heated gear often uses this because it’s small and easy to connect securely.
Putting the power ports under the seat helps hide the connections and keeps things cleaner. Here, that’s where the heated-gear plug points are installed.
Here, “conversions” means an aftermarket wiring kit that changes/adapts the bike’s power so you can use the right plugs for accessories. It’s meant to make the install plug-and-play.
This is a bracket made for Harley-Davidson Softail bikes. It lets you mount a USB charging port in a fixed spot so it’s not hanging around or moving while you ride.
Term
curbing conversion cord
This is an adapter cable that lets one type of power connection work with another accessory. In this case, it helps run heated gear from the mounted power setup.
A tank mount means the USB/charging accessory is attached near the fuel tank. Different Softail years need different mounting fitment, so you have to pick the right one.
“Type A” means an older style USB plug. It’s bigger than newer USB-C plugs. If you have the wrong type, your charging cable may not fit or may not work as expected.
“Type C” is another way of saying USB-C. It’s the newer, smaller charging plug used on many modern devices. Knowing this helps you pick the right cable for charging.
A voltmeter measures how much electrical “push” your battery has. On a motorcycle, it can help you see whether the battery is getting charged properly. It’s like a quick health check for the electrical system.
USB-A is an older type of USB plug that looks rectangular. The host is saying some bike chargers use USB-A, but you can convert it so you can use USB-C cables instead.
The infotainment control unit is the bike’s main computer for the screen and media features. The host is saying low battery voltage can cause problems, so keeping voltage up matters.
ECM means Engine Control Module. It’s the bike’s engine computer, and the host is saying low battery voltage can cause issues because these computers need stable power.
BCM means Body Control Module. It’s one of the bike’s electronics computers that controls lots of electrical features, and it can be affected if the battery voltage gets too low.
A dual USB charging port lets you plug in two USB devices at the same time. The host is using it as a way to power accessories while the bike is off, without killing the battery.
Battery voltage is a number that tells you how “full” your battery is electrically. The charger here can show that number so you can tell how much it’s charging.
An on/off switch lets you turn the charging accessory on or off. That way you don’t have to unplug it every time, and you can avoid draining the battery.
Charging rate is how fast your phone charges. If the cable is cheap or low-power, it can limit the speed and make charging take much longer.
Car
street glide
A “Street Glide” is a Harley-Davidson touring motorcycle. It’s the kind of bike people use for longer rides, and the speaker is talking about fitting a power/charging accessory to that bike.
Butt Buffer is a brand of seat cushion for motorcycles. It’s meant to make long rides more comfortable, and the speaker says it’s designed to avoid the problems gel pads can have.
Term
punch a hole in my trunk
This is describing a DIY wiring install: making an opening so the cable can pass through the trunk area. You also need to seal it so rain and water can’t get inside.
A “cigarette lighter” is the old-style plug-in socket. On motorcycles and cars, it’s usually used as a 12V outlet now, so you can plug in a charger or other accessories.

And he says, I was a little skeptical at first about the Krause easy shift.
But after putting it on, taking it for a ride around the block, it works awesome.
Can't wait to go on a longer ride. Don't be skeptical.
It's okay to be skeptical. Absolutely.
This is one of those things that when you see it, you're like, how can that make shifting smoother and finding neutral so much easier?
If you're not aware of what the Krause easy shift is, it's a device that hooks onto your rear shift shaft for your transmission back behind you, not the one up front.
And it raises your shift linkage up a little bit and maybe a little forward even.
It basically puts the shifter linkage in a better position. More leverage is what I say.
It just makes it smoother, makes it work better.
And so your shifts are smoother, but the big thing about it is you can find the neutral like easy peasy.
And this is one thing that Oscar turned us on, asked us about it.
I said, never heard of it, did some research, found out that you have to go straight through Krause if you want to be a distributor.
So we got that set up. We did some testing and my God, they're awesome.
We've been selling the bejesus out of them.
So if you've got a actually a twin camera newer, you can get this for your bike and it will make your shifting smoother and your neutral easier to find.
And since then we become the number one reseller in the world of the Krause easy shift.
And that's not a freaking joke. Is it Lurch?

We also have the Canada or the gears Canada barrel plug to SAE connector.
And then we've got a battery tender 12 volt harness with a fuse.
So if you don't have a battery tender at all port, piggy tail, if you want to call it on your bike, you can put that on.
And then we got a plethora of SAE to USB A and USB C adapters along with cords, just a whole mess of stuff to power these stealth ports that we're going to talk about.

We're getting a lot more folks traveling obviously and we're ramping up the store in massive ways.
So a couple things.
People are coming from all over the obviously they want to travel through and see the store.
We're making an experience each day or adding and I got more stuff probably delivered day.

But basically people are north of us and south of us.
There's no real motorcycle stores.
We're the biggest one in this in the city now as far as motorcycle parts accessories apparel.
So yeah, we're just getting a lot more of that.
Obviously most of our sales are online still and that's fine.
But we do have a huge showroom.
So if you're in the area, definitely swing by and so recently, well, we've got a couple of things.
I was hoping the other thing would get done this week.
But we attended the front windows of the building that face Main Street here in Union Gap for looks number one.
Well, I guess they go hand in hand and then efficiency for insulation and things like that.
The sun gets coming in there and we've already noticed a big difference.
But right after that, I'm hoping it gets done this week is a complete branding on the windows.
I designed a bunch of stuff and then handed it over to the company and hopefully they're going to apply all that.
It's going to pop.
You guys are going to love it.
It's really going to make the front of the store stand out.
Very, very modern.
It's going to look nice.

We want to do a lot of this stuff for a long time.
Just there's so much to do that we just have to do it in phases and then we get going and one thing leads to another.

And so the branding.
So if you come by, see that it'll be on the north side of the building and then the front that faces Main Street,
which would be the east side.
And then, um, and then recently, uh, actually this week, uh, a whole bunch of new slot wall, a whole bunch of new shelving that we've been meaning to do
because we are using every square inch of this building for inventory.
And, uh, so I think truly now we mostly have used every square inch.

I don't think there's a lot of walls.
Unless they start using your story.
To start using the office and shit, dude.
Uh, so we've got contract.
So the point where we got a storage unit for, you know, non-essential stuff, all the packaging and stuff that we're storing, you know,
and some overflow product.
Little bit.
Overflow flow out of there.
But yeah.
So yeah.
Yeah, we got that too.
So we're running back and forth there.
Um, and then, uh, so Bob Dawson, who's a patron member, you guys have heard his name.
He's done lots of stuff for us over the years.
Um, so we contracted him to do the paint and the painting and do the slot wall and all that.
And you want to talk about got a new shipper.
We do.
Um, so we were to the point where after hiring, uh, Javon, things just really took off and, uh,
Javon is a assistant store manager on track for a full store manager.
Yeah.
And so we were, he was busy shipping so much that we weren't getting the opportunity to do a lot of other training.
So we talked about hiring another shipper and just happened that my nephew, Cody was looking for a job and, uh, he's doing pretty well.
I'm happy with him.
Um, he, so far I've only seen one order that he screwed up and we fixed it.
So if you get one from Cody and it's an error, you let me know so I can take care of that young man.
But usually if you get an error, it'll be Oscar.
Yeah, most likely.
But Cody, he's, he's really learning quick and working hard and, uh, really helping us get those packages out even faster.
To the point where sometimes if somebody makes a mistake on their order and they try to correct it, we've already shipped it and just, we were getting that fast.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So it's been good to have him and, um, you know, we'll see where that goes.
But, uh, apparently he can't close a dude wipe container.
I will handle that.
Apparently not, dude.

But, uh, yeah, we'll figure that out.
So I did tell him the most important thing about shipping though, which is he has to make sure to include one good free time in every box.

I see him every box he's doing it.

So, um, and then last of all, it's been chaos, but, uh, a couple of days ago, we had a, uh, Ford F 150 pickup that Lurch and I decided to buy for the business.
Uh, I don't know, a couple of years ago or something.
And we didn't think that through very well.
It's fine.
It's one of those opportunities that just presents itself.
Well, that'll work.
You know, we know who we knew was selling it and, uh, yeah, you know, it'll work for what we need.
Yeah.
And, uh, so we got into that pickup and, uh, we found out that that's not going to start.
We never knew obviously that we're going to grow this big, this fast.
And that's a good problem to have.
But, uh, really what we need it for is to run around and with a pickup, you guys know when you're, we have a lot of packages picked up here too.
But sometimes things just happen.
We got to deliver.
We got to run around town.
We got to run errands.
And that truck problem is when you pack the back with packages, if you do have to make a run, it's got a hard cover on it.
It's got a hard cover.
And then so you got to get up on, you know, all fours and you got to crawl to the back of the damn truck.

So we've all been making jokes about that.
It's fun to rip around it.
It's just got a little small, you know, it's light.

It's got a little four cylinder in it and it did zippy little inline.
Yeah.

So even my big ass fits in it.

With the seat all.
Yeah.
I have to be thoughtful when I get in.
You guys don't even put it forward.
I can still reach, but so I know you guys have to be,
or you have to be a little cramped in it.
So, yeah.
So we're just massively expanding, growing quick.
And we hadn't even mentioned another employee that we hired like,
we maybe we did three months ago.
I don't know if we have.
He's remote, but he works a lot and he does a lot of the behind the scenes
and drop ships and different things.
And so, yeah, fulfillment stuff.
So, yeah.
And, uh, Oscar's still working part time.
And then, yeah.
And then I got Matt Haywood down in California doing some video stuff for me.
We've been communicating today.

So we got all the LED lights, you guys that have been in here.
And then we've got strip lights, LED lights.
And then we've got some big LED panels that kind of light the walls and different covers.
It's an experience and, uh, we really want to make it look aesthetic in here.
And so next phase is what came in today, but we're doing some testing.
So I was going to get a disco ball and, uh, that's not a joke.
And I was up late last night shopping for a disco ball, but as a, as one does,
as one does, dude, I had it in my cart and everything.
And, uh, I did some more research and use some AI stuff.
And I'm like, well, brick, uh, with a disco ball, then you've got to have a, uh,
I can't think of the name of it.
You do have to have lights shining on it.
Well, it's a, it's a specific light.
It's a very narrow beam and you have to have that to shine on to one side at least.
And then some people get motors.
So the fricking thing turns and a lot of them aren't wifi enabled.
So you can't even adjust them with your phone.
And so there's a lot more.
So what I got, let me just show you, um, I did some research and I figured this.
Oh yeah.
Look at your shopping.
Where are you left off?
It's just another disco balls, dude.
So this is what we got right now.
Oh yeah.
I got these smart plugs.
These are the strip lights that we use the brand.
And so these we can program to turn the lights off and on because it's not built
into this, but there are what's called party lights.
Oh yeah.
Uh, disco DJ strobe.
I've seen those types of things.
So we're going to, um, we're going to start with one.
I don't know how much light it's going to do, but we're going to pepper the ceiling
and stuff with these and you can program them for RGB, all different kinds of patterns
and stuff.
And it really, you can do a lot of the same stuff with it as you do with the disco ball.
But yet I can control it with this controller.
Yeah.
Nice.
And then with the app, with that smart plug, we can, you know, have it go on and off at
least at certain times.
So yeah, that's what's delivered today.
Party light.

And, uh, let's just see.

Uh, so like Lurch said, seven, we already did a video, I don't know, months and months
ago.
And, uh, and I had told you guys upfront, um, we are the number one reseller of stealth
ports and it's because we believe in them.
They're made in the USA.
They solve a problem that everybody has with a Harley and, and, uh, um, we've gotten to
know those folks and, uh, so yeah, um, and we're experts in them.
And we make our listings different, um, than even the maker of them to be much more clear.
Um, we do a lot of that guys.
It's funny.
You think all these companies have their websites really squared away.
Um, and, uh, a lot of them don't, there's a art to that, especially talking to bikers
and the way it should be explained.
I feel like I have a little bit of a knack for that and sort of Lurch.
Like we always say, we just need to say it and biker the way they say it to sound stupid.
That's just make it make sense and make sure people know what they need.
And so we make videos obviously too, that are embedded at the bottom of the listings,
but then within the listing, it becomes very clear what part.
So we do that with quite a few different websites, believe it or not.
Even the bigger guys, just sometimes they get, they just don't spend a lot of time on
their listings sometimes and that causes a lot of confusion,
especially folks that are just selling their product.
Um, they know their product so well, uh, that that can actually be kind of a hindrance
cause they, it's in their head.
So when they're explaining it, it all makes sense to them.
So us as resellers for the majority of, of the stuff that we sell, uh, we have to learn
it and we install play with it and use it.
And so we're able to build our listings with a mind like that, a fresh mind that's not
full of the information about the product.
And so I think that's why we're able to put together a much better product listing, generally
speaking.

So we're going to back up a little bit and talk about if this is the first episode that
you've heard of the stealth port, some of you have, there'll be new information here
too.
So even if you think, you know, we've got some bad ass options for you.
You might want to upgrade cause I did.
So we all know, and I just want to throw this out, let me tell you this first.
So all hearties, obviously guys come with a dangly pig tail battery tender.
You've all seen it.
It's behind the left side panel or right, whatever.
And it dangles and it melts on exhaust.
The cap comes off, it gets corroded, it gets weathered.
It looks like shit.
With that said, a lot of the Indian guys, which we love Indians here, we got a road master
right now, more coming by the way, stay tuned.
I can't tell you anything else, but we do have a road master and Jevon's riding it
right now and we will be doing an episode with him kind of getting his, he had never
ridden one before an Indian.
So, but with that said, a lot of guys, and I got some comments on the video, well, my
Indian comes with that.
Well, I have a road master and yes, it does come with a dedicated SAE port in a shitty
place.
I'm just going to tell you that I don't like it.
That's great that it comes with a battery tender, but there's so much more you can do
with an SAE port, which we're going to talk about like heated gear and USB charging devices.
The problem with the road master is it's way up underneath on the right side.
And so you need a long dangly cord to even plug your heated gear into it or something
like that.
It's not, it's for, it's for tendering only.
Yeah.
It's on the big, yes.
It's on the backside of the fairing.
So it's down low and to the right.
Now if you're parking your bike, it's a great place to plug in a tender.
Yes.
But like you're saying, if you want to plug your heated gear into it or do anything different,
it's in a horrible space.
Right.
That's what I mean by that.
Yeah.
So yeah, yeah, it's fine for just tendering, but yes, as you're going to find out, why
are we wasting that SAE port for tendering only?
So I do appreciate that they, that they at least did that.
But I like this too, because stealth port, sometimes you're like, you get mad, right?
And riders will say, well, Harley should have came out of the factory with that.
Well, that's great.
But then you're stuck like Indian.
So I get to choose from 123 12, yeah, 10 models of where I want it and
how I want it.
And do I want two ports for heated gear or one port for you to gear?
So it's kind of a double edged sword, what you wish for, because then the
factory is going to put it in.
You're like, well, I appreciate that you did it, but I don't like where you put it.
So, you know, we're always bitching about something.
The flexibility is nice with aftermarket items.
Yeah, totally.
And so we're going to break that down.
So that's the problem we're solving is we're going to take that dangly cord, we're going
to put it in a permanent mount position and we're going to get the kind of ports that
we want dependent on what type of gear and what our purposes are for putting the port
there in the first place.
So we talked about that.
So the, I just want to tell you all too, if you go to the bot, any of the listings you
go to the bottom, the first video is the newest video, which I dropped just this last Friday
at the time of this recording and it blew up.
It really did that video.
I knew it was going to do well and it did really, it's still doing really well.
Um, so you can watch that video, but some of you watched the original video and you've
already installed one and we, I just want to tell you up front, this was not planned.
Okay.
Now this developed over time because the owner of Stealthport Al was getting approached by
a lot of riders saying, Hey, I love the fact that I can plug my tender in, but I'd really
like something for my heated gear.
There was a solution for that prior to these newer ones we're going to talk about and that
is to use an SAE to barrel adapter.
So you could use that.
Let's say like on your original Stealthport, you had the mid frame mount.
So it was right underneath your left thigh.
I have the top mount, which is behind my butt a little bit between the saddle bag and the
rear fender strut.
You can plug an SAE to barrel connector into that and hook up to your heated gear.
That was the original way to do it, but because the folks have been asking about this, there's
enough wanting for these that he decided to come up with these newer options.
If they were available, I think this is where you're going.
If they were available originally, we would have listed them all.
Yes.
It's a new product.
I didn't want people to be pissed that we were holding these and then we just decided
to list them.
No, we found out about them at the same time.
Everybody were like, okay, well, that's created a new video because of it.
We got them all in and we started handling them and going, okay, what's this one for?
How's this going to serve people?
How do we make our listings?
How are we going to make this video to make sense for everybody?
Yeah.
If you do upgrade, don't blame us.
We didn't mean for that.
That's how these things go.
You launch a product, a cool product like Stealthport and then people, the riders have other
needs and thoughts and they bring it to you and next, you have another version.
It's pretty normal.
There'll probably be more coming after this.
We are going.
With that said, number one, not our fault.
Number two, don't worry.
We still sell the original models if that is your favorite.
Yes.
I still got mine.
I still have my top mount.
Very simple options and we're going to break down.
You'll understand.
We're going to try to give you an idea like we did in the video of what will work best
for you because there's so many ways to do this dependent on your needs.
So let's start.
I'll start and then you can do the number 21
So I'm going to start.
This is my upgrade and this is what I picked.
So I originally had mid frame left like Lurch said right by my thought.
I don't have heat deflectors.
If you have heat deflectors, you need to get the one specific for heat deflectors.
We'll talk about that.
But if you don't have heat deflectors, this was the number one go to aside from the top
mount.
I think the top mount was a little more popular, which we'll talk about in a minute.
But this was very popular because this is the one I put on my bike and I liked it because
it's accessible, but it was just an SAE port.
So it was basically a permanent mount solution and all you had was an SAE port and that's
your battery tender port.
We're going to use SAE port a lot.
That's your typical like two pronged, one male, one female battery tender that comes
off your pigtail.
And so with that, what I would have to do or one could do is if you wanted to run heated
gear off it because, you know, while you're riding, obviously you're not tendering.
Then Lurch already mentioned it.
It's in the law budding biker store.
It's a Gerbin SAE to barrel plug and now gears Canada as well.
Yeah.
And that one.
Yeah, we added that one too.
So if you see one or the other out there, both high quality, but so what I did, this
was one of the new models and I'm like, this is even better because it added a barrel port.
So the same midframe mount now has an SAE connector and also a barrel port and barrel
ports is your coaxial barrel that your heated gear connects to.
And so for me, that just is a little bit easier.
Could I still get by?
Yes, but then I'm limited to one port to and we'll talk about that a little bit more as
we move along.
But now one of the things is I contend to so without getting too convoluted under my
seat for the 24 newer models are two dedicated coax barrel plug accessory plugs.
So I can still, if I wanted to run, that's how I ran when I first got the bike before
the stealth port, I could still run one of those out by the front of my seat and I can
plug in my heated jacket right there.
But here's why I did this.
Number one, I like the clean look instead of the dangly barrel plug hanging out my seat,
just like the damn tender cord.
This looks neat.
It's solid, but I forget a lot.
I'm in a hurry running and gunning and we're filming doc films, whatever.
And I get on my bike and I get going down the road and I forget to plug in my heated
gear. Well, this solid mounted port now and no SAE conversion cord, nothing.
It's just clean.
I could literally take the barrel plug from my jacket, reach down.
It's a solid port.
It's easy to fill with my finger and I can plug in easily with one hand, my left
hand while I'm throttling down the road.
So that, that is why I picked that the location is up to you.
I like the location there again, heated gear, right?
It's very accessible for me to reach down and plug in right there.
So one thing that you need to know is because this is a dual port, a dual.
So one SAE and one barrel port.
So the SAE off the back of this thing are two wires because one wire is not going
to power both ports, okay?
Because a lot of power is going through these.
So now I have to plug in to my SAE stock pigtail, just like I did with the
other one, right?
Battery tender.
And then I have a barrel plug coming off the back of it and that plugs into one
of the two accessory ports under my seat.
That still leaves one free accessory port, but that's occupied by my heated seat.
So all my ports are taken up now.
Now, before we get any further, because you're going to hear about a lot of
these, uh, if you have a pre 24 bike and you did not get the two dedicated
accessory barrel plugs under your seat, no problem, because in the law
binding biker store, we sell very high quality, Gerbing and Gears Canada
conversions that go straight from your battery to barrel plug.
Yeah, they have a ring terminals on the end of them.
So they go right on your battery, got a fuse and then it turns into the barrel
port, which will plug in to your stealth port.
Yep.
And you may need two of those because we're going to talk
about some of these that have two barrel ports for passenger heated gear.
We'll get into that, but just understand, you don't have to worry
if you have a bike without them.
We can, uh, we've got them and it's spelled out in our listings.
So that is the one I went with.
Um, what is it called?
Just the midframe single heated panel.
I can't remember, um, conversion core.
Let's see.
I didn't even put the name of it.
Interesting.
Well, while you're looking that up, I can move on the next one if you want.
Yeah.
Yours just says Ryan's upgrade pick, but it's, it's, uh, it's got,
it basically it's a midframe, uh, with heated.
So it's got an interesting name, but, uh, while he's looking that up, I'm,
I have the top mount on my bike and the top mount has been probably
the most popular, uh, before we started bringing in all these extra,
these new ones with the heated gear on it.
So we'll see if that changes at all.
But the top mount is the original stealth port is stealthy.
It goes between your saddlebag and your, um, fender strut.
Did you find it?
Yeah.
It's mine's called a midframe heated panel mount left side.
It's all spelled out in the listings along with fitment guys.
Yeah.
Heated panels, what they've added to the listings.
Perfect.
So the top mid, there's a top mount, which I have the original one.
Uh, you can, uh, it's got one port, just one SAE battery tender port on it.
So you can tender your battery there or you can, uh, use a SAE to barrel
adapter to plug in heated gear.
Uh, I'm going to leave that one back there for Mrs.
Lurch.
She can, uh, I can use it to tender and, or she can just use an adapter.
And then I'll be adding, I just haven't done it.
I'll be adding one like you have to the front, uh, the midframe.
Oh, you are.
Oh, so you're going to do, oh, we never discussed that.
Yeah.
That's a good quality.
I was, I was just going to leave what I had.
Um, but, uh, we did a early spring ride and, uh, uh, Mrs.
Lurch freezed her, uh, her giblets and yeah, she froze her giblets.
I gave her a, uh, um, a, lady parts.
Okay.
Boys have giblets too.
I do.
They're just your giblets, your parts.
Just your giblets, dude.
You can Google that.
I got it.
I'm just jealous me.

I got to try this up, dude.
This is awesome.
I gave her one of my battery powered jackets and kept her alive, but I'm
going to get her a 12 volt jacket.
So I'll just use that one.
So I'll have two of one back there for her and I'll have one up front for me.
Um, so I will eventually be taking my top mountain and changing it out for a
number two here, which is the top Mount single heated panel.
So that means there is a SAE and a barrel adapter similar.
I won't go into it because you explained it very well, but it's just a
different mounting location.

Um, so yeah, go ahead, uh, go, go with number three.
So number three is just a little bit of a different variation of the one
number two that I just mentioned.
So, but this one, instead of having one, uh, barrel plug, uh, it has two.
So both the rider and the passenger can plug in.
So that one is going to need a plugin to the SAE port and two barrel plugs.
If you've got 24 newer, no, no, oh wait, dual heat.
Sorry.
I'm not going to the wrong one.
Yep.
My bad, my bad.
No problem.
So, um, if you have a 24 newer and you don't have a heat seat, easy peasy.
You just use your one, uh, SAE connector and your two barrel connectors.
Again, if you need anything extra, we've got those adapters that go
right to the battery for you.
If you've got a pre 24, there you go.
But this would be an easy one on a 24 newer.
Nice.
And then number four is our double top mount dual SAE.
So this is interesting.
Um, this is the top mount.
It goes between your saddle bag.
Like Lurch said, um, it's kind of subdued hidden in there, but you can have two
ports now.
One would think, okay, well, we just talked about one with the dual heated
barrels and an SAE, but a lot of people could get by with this.
Um, but off the back of this is no barrel plug.
It's two battery tender SAE ports.
Thus, uh, you'll only have one stock.
Well, of course we got you covered because we sell the same thing.
It goes to your battery.
It's got terminals, uh, fuse, and you can have an additional battery
tender cord.
So you would plug in two, thus you'd have two ports up there.
Now one could use this, uh, and you wouldn't even have to get the other heated
one, this you could battery tender and if you wanted, you could battery
tender from either, and if you wanted to run one or two heated gear, then
just would do what we did in the past and you get two curbing conversion
cords from SAE to heated gear.
Plus it gives you a little extension, um, you know, to reach your passenger
and reach up to the rider.
If that's what you're going to do.
Um, the one thing I don't like about this is something to think about, like
Lurch's top out, um, I'm not a big fan of that one.
Um, I am, I am a fan about battery tendon for, for just tending your
battery.
I really like it, but what I don't like it is it's an inconvenience
place for the rider to try to plug in.
So let's just say Lurch puts this one or he puts the dual heated panel
back where, where his wife rides.
Well, that's all fine and Danny and tell you forget to plug in while
you head down the road.
If the wife's back there, you can hand it to her, she can plug it in.
But if you're riding by yourself, you're not going to be able to do that.
It's difficult to get back there.
And I mean, it is a specific, it's not a very sloppy plug.
I mean, the SAEs, it's rounded on one side and squared on the other,
and they only go one way.
So blindly plugging that in is going to be difficult, which is why I decided
to leave that top mount back there for her.
I can use it to tend when I want to, she can plug in heated gear, which
wants to, but I'm adding the one that you've got the, the one tender and one
heated gear to the front.
That's a really good idea.
There you go.
That just came up mean talk about that in the video.
So, but I do like, if you are riding to up all the time, this one is pretty slick
cause you, it's, it's fairly streamlined.
You only need two sources of power.
One you've already got.
It's, you had a second SAE, you know, battery ring terminal to SAE plug.
And with adapters, you can run two sets of heated gear.
And if you always have a writer and she can reach back there and plug in for you
or he, whatever you're doing, it is an option.
That's why I like that they have so many options.
It just depends on your scenario and what you're doing.
And you can kind of create and do whatever you want.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's a very universal, very flexible systems.
And we're just trying to give you all the options to get you to think before
you order.
So you really get what you want, but there you go.
You could do it that way.
And I lurch got a great idea there too.
So why don't you talk about number five?
This is brand new one.
It's another stealthy one for sure.
It's, if you're running heated gear, it's going to not be the most, it
wouldn't be the best one for you.
It's similar to the top mount.
This is called the lower mount.
So instead of being up between your saddlebag and your rear fender strut,
it's going to be down low and it uses one of the bolts on your support bar,
your saddlebag, bag support bar.
And so if you got, especially if you had on the left side and so it's down,
it's very inconspicuous and hard to see.
So it's just another really stealthy option for folks that are concerned about
the look and it's just a single SAE.
Yes.
And it is, if you're just, yeah, like Lurch said, if you're just going to tender,
it's, I actually like it.
If that's all I was going to use, this would be one of my favorite.
It's, it's down low because your tender is usually sitting on the floor.
You don't have to run cord up over your bike.
It's, it's, it's pretty sexy location, kind of subdued.
Nobody would really see it, but it's super easily accessible.
You could do it on the right side too.
You just might need an extension cord, which we carry as well.
Yes.
SAE extensions to make them longer.
We got that too.
Yeah.
So that is a good option too.
Um, and now, so you soft tail guys, uh, we didn't want to leave you out, of
course, um, not as many options for soft tails, uh, but we do have a, uh, soft
tail coil mount and right now it is just an SAE.
I have to believe because I think with those bikes, you know, I think that
probably up front, he was thinking the creator of these was thinking, well,
you ride those kinds of bikes are not really touring bikes.
You're not really using heated gear as much and things like that.
But I would suspect that there'll be more soft tail models as he moves along
and produces these.
Um, but right now it's just SAE.
So at least you can have a permanent mount for your tender and you can still run
heated gear off it with that curbing conversion cord.
And then the other soft tail is a tank mount.
Um, and the fitment for the years and which one of those you want dependent
on year is all over, uh, at the law abiding biker store, not only in the
fitment tab, but a lot of it is revealed in the title.
Um, so just look through those and we'll put a link through to all our
stealth ports, uh, in the show notes for this episode.
So what else can you do with a stealth port?
We've got options, options, options.
We don't want to waste our stealth.
It's like the supermarket checkout guy.

Uh, so here's one of the coolest things.
Um, turn us on to these.

It was a patron was asking about these.
Yes, I knew generally about them, but we're just, we've learned a lot.
We've learned a lot.
We've learned a lot.
Yeah.
Sometimes it, you know, somebody just asks us about one of these new
things that we dive into.
And so I think it was Gary.
It was, he ordered a ride power and then we made the listing and then I was
like put two and two together.
And then I realized how much access to these we have.
Yeah.
Um, so basically, you know, here's the, so that SAE port.
We were using it for charging our bike.
We're using it to run heated gear.
Well, with all of our digital rechargeable devices that we all have, why would
we not want to utilize that to charge those devices?
So, uh, examples, um, are cameras.
Uh, you know, I run a bunch of cameras at lunch.
I could charge this.
I could run a cord, put it in my saddle bag.
I could, um, charge my headset, which we often do at lunch or get a fresh
top because they run out by the end of the day.
And I used to pack a portable battery pack, you know, it, it could charge my
phone, but also I carried it mainly to charge my headset at lunch.
Right.
Right.
But with these, you don't need that big, you don't need it anymore.
And it might as you used a battery on your bike, uh, to do that.
And, uh, so that's what we're going to kind of go through some of these options.
Um, and, uh, yeah, cameras, phones, of course.
Uh, and the nice thing is those SAEs are not, they're all direct to your
battery, so none of that is, you have to leave your ignition on or anything
like that.
You can just suck off your battery.
So, uh, I don't really mean suck off your battery, but you could suck power off

Um, but yeah, so these are basically what we're going to go through here real
quick is their SAE charging units.
And so they're SAE on one end and they're little sticks and then coming out
the other end, um, is, well, the varies, but some of them have dual USB and USBC.
If you don't know a lot of people don't, my family still doesn't know.
I'm always trying to tell my wife and I get it.
I'm not making fun of any of you because I think normal people don't know this
shit, but I'm always telling my go, you can't use that honey.
Your phone's a USBC.
You can't, I don't know.
It's just, it's the round thing.
I'm like, no, you don't understand type A is the old big one.
A type C is the newer.
That's what everybody's going to.
I don't even have USB type devices anymore.
A lot of people do.
Um, so USB type A is the old big USB that we use for years and now it's USBC.
It's the smaller one.
So we'll be talking about some, but they still don't know.
I'm like, no, dad, they won't even say it.
I'm like, it's just memorize it.
USBC, that's what it is.
Okay.
Um, because they want to get a new cord or something.
So, uh, I don't know how people get by in this world.
Um, anyways, uh, so we've got some different options.
Some of these have volt meters on them.
So you can see where your batteries, one has an on off switch.
So, um, these are all available in the law budding biker store.
Um, and, uh, it'll depend on what options that you want.
Um, I will tell you this real quick.
Some of them have a USB A, which is the older port.
Well, in our store, we have a conversion.
Uh, it basically, I've used them for years.
Yep.
It, uh, plugs into USB A converts it to USB C.
So if you got one with the USB A and USB C, you could convert it and have two USB Cs.
Or if you just get one with the USB A, you can convert it.
You get it.
It's just a little tiny dongle and it just converts.
Um, so don't worry about whether it's, if it's USB A and you're like, I have
all USB type C stuff.
Well, you can just convert it.
They're super affordable.
Um, so I'll just talk about the first one.
And then you can talk about some of the others.
So this is one of our favorites.
Uh, this is a Techmate, Optimate, S-A-E to USB A.
Again, don't worry about that because I just can convert mine to with a little
dongle to USB C.
It is one single port, uh, but this is the only one that's smart, so to speak.
Um, and it's from Techmate.
We trust their stuff.
All of our battery tenders, we promote it over the years.
All the battery tenders, I have four sitting there that are going to my shop.
I finally got rid of all my old stuff and I'm, those are, so I'll have completely
Techmate, Optimate, battery tenders smart because they can tell what's going on
with your battery more than some of the others.
So we did a video on that if you go over and want to see those scroll to the bottom.
But, um, the Techmate, Optimate, uh, USB A stick here, um, is the only smart one.
Um, you plug it in and the port is active and after one hour of charging while
the bike is off, um, if it senses the bike's off and it automatically shuts itself down.
So that's kind of nice because, you know, uh, if you, you know, like I said,
throw a camera in the saddle bag and lock it, right?
And you can run a wire right in there and I can be charging off this thing.
And I don't get back to my bike for five hours and it was a heavy load to charge
that camera.
Well, it's not going to tank my battery, which is super important on your 24 newer
bikes with the infotainment control unit and all the, uh, BCMs and ECMs and computers,
they really don't want voltage getting below a certain level.
So that's a little safety and, uh, that's a quality one.
And then it'll also show, uh, when you get back as a little meter on it,
that shows the health of your battery.
So that, you know, yeah, it's good.
It shut off and my batteries are good.
Um, so that's the Techmate, Optimate.
Um, and why don't you pick up the next one?
And that's the one that I have in my saddle bag as well.
Looking forward to using it.
The next one is the Deltran dual USB charging port.
So it has a USB A, again, that's the larger one that everybody's used to.
And the smaller USB C.
Uh, you can plug that right into your stealth port and, uh, it will, uh,
display battery voltage so you can keep your eyes on the charge level.
It comes with mounting hardware.
If you want, uh, for flat mounting or bar, excuse me, bar mounting,
if you prefer to run it, uh, up the front.
So very solid, flexible option.
Cause you got both the ports there and some different, uh, mounting options.
And it does come with that.
If I didn't mention that with the mounting, uh, options there.
Nice.
Next is your scaled down basic version.
It don't do much except convert.
So these are your Deltran charging ports.
They're a little bit less expensive, of course, um, they charge only.
That's it.
They got no screens.
They aren't smart.
Uh, one, uh, they both are SA.
They plug in one of them has a USB C coming out.
The other one has a USB A.
You choose your poison and, uh, go with that.
So there you go.
And then we have the ride power charging port.
Uh, we've carried quite a bit of ride power sports over there.
I carry one of these along with my tech mate.
Yeah.
This one's neat because it's got an on off switch.
So you can cut the power without unplugging anything.
Also includes a battery voltage meter.
It has a dual output USB A and USB C.
So a very good option for people.
Yep.
And, uh, with those, obviously you're going to need high quality charging
cords for whatever devices you're charging.
We've got a plethora of in the law abiding micro store right now,
whatever charging port you choose, pair it with, uh, you know, um, USB A to USB C
cords, USB C to USB C cords, different lengths, um, and their quality.
Don't cheap out on cords.
That might fricking wife and daughter.
So I buy this junk from Amazon.
It's like a 13 foot cord.
I'm like, that's charging it like one watt.
And they wonder why their phones don't charge it very quick.
I'm like, cause you bought some quality cord.
Yeah.
Well, they just don't even look.
And even if you buy a short one, people don't look at like, what's the charging
rate number one, what's the charging rate of your phone and number two, what's
the charging rate of that cable, just like the blocks, some were like three
Watts, 30 Watts, your phone could.
Yeah.
So anyways, with that said, these are high quality cords that are, uh, gonna
be, you know, depending on what block.
And I don't know, honestly, some of these ports, all they're charging speeds,
but nonetheless you've got power on the road, right?
And yeah, they may not, I don't know if all of them are super, super fast or
wet, but I didn't have that information here for this podcast, but, um, they're
going to charge and I get your cameras charged up.
The other nice thing, something to think about, like we said, headsets go
dead, whether you charge it or lunch it, not, um, what I had to do in Canada, um,
before we had that is I had a battery pack in my coat pocket and I ran the
cable up and the USBC into my, uh, carto pack talk to keep it charged the
rest of the day.
So now I literally, while you're riding on the road, they're in there pretty
tight at your own risk, depending on where you put your stealth port, mine's
left leg, uh, I could literally put it down there and I could run a cord, one
of these long enough cords, right up to my headset and have permanent power for
my head.
So just some different options to think about.
Um, and then we have a, you know, automate SAE extension cord up to 40
inches.
That's just your SAE to SAE.
And I actually threw it in my shop cause some of my battery tenders, my
Optimate Duo two battery tenders don't reach all the way to the bike or, or
they're very tight across the floor and they're a tripping hazard.
Yeah.
So I just threw one of these 40 inch extensions on for my street glide,
but you would eliminate an extension cord.
You could just plug your, uh, your tender into the plug and then you can use
this extension on the other end so that you're not involving any, uh, yeah,
extension cords, right, right.
Yeah, exactly.
You're just, uh, yeah, you're just extending the SAE connector.
So we've got a lot of stuff, um, for all of this, uh, in the store and, uh,
we're going to Lurch is going to do a good job at making links to everything.
He'll, the article is the best way, um, to link to this article guys.
And, uh, once you do that, everything we talked about, there's hot links in
there where you can, and when we talk about cords, you can go see the cord.
You can see the connectors.
It takes you over to the store, the different stealth ports, but, and like

at least look, we did a really good job with the listings to make them very

Um, really at the end of the day, it's just going to be what you want and what

So these, uh, for the touring models, these were designed for 2014 and newer.
Uh, if you have a pre a 2014, can you use them?
Some of you can, it's just a mount and a bolt.
You just might have to get a little bit creative.
There you go.
It's a mounting that he's, okay, that, yeah, that makes sense.
He set him up, uh, the owner to mount to current 14 and newer bowls.
Dude, you can mount these anywhere like that mid port.
I can just drill a hole somewhere and put a bolt through it or find a bolt.
It, as long as you can plug into your tender, you can put, or your tender cord.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Good call.
I'm glad you mentioned that.
And like the 14 and newer, newers will have the mid frame
mount, like yours has a threaded nut that's not being used anymore.
The pre 14s may just have a hole there.
So you could use a speed nut or you put a nut behind it.
I mean, there's ways to do it.
Go to the hardware store.
You can mount this thing.
If you're someone handy, you can figure it out.
You could drill through your tank.
If you wanted to mount it.
I wouldn't suggest I'm just being facetious, but you know, you can drill
through your bar, it just, it has a hole and it needs a bolt.
That's it.
And then run your tender cord.
A lot of people.
Yeah.
Get, make it a little bit more complicated than it needs to be.
Just head to your hardware store.
Be creative.
Uh, you can mount this thing.
Any, where you're mounted inside your saddle bag, if you want it, honestly,
true, you know, and punch a hole with some silicone.
And yeah, I mean, whatever creative is half the fun.
Dude, that's something that I didn't think about.
You could, that's not a bad idea.
Because I'm always charging cameras on the go.
I could literally.
Ride longer and treat your ass with some respect already.
Get hooked up with a premium but buffer seat cushion.

Yeah, so like the ultra and the limited and some of those come with,
I think back in the day, it was still a cigarette plug-in.
Yeah, yeah, they might be even now.

Nothing is being discontinued. The original mid-frame mounts, top mounts, and heat deflector mounts are all still available and still the right choice for a lot of riders — it just depends on what gear you're running. If a single SAE port is all you need, those original models are solid.
I ran a single mid-frame mount for years using a Gerbing SAE-to-barrel plug conversion cord from the Law Abiding Biker Store to power my heated gear. It works great. But as you'll see below, the new models open up options that make it hard to go back.
One important note: if your bike has heat deflectors, you need the heat deflector mount — not the standard mid-frame. Both are available in the store with full fitment information.
Single port, just need to tender and occasionally run one accessory? Original models or the new single heated panels work great.
Want dedicated heated gear plug AND a free SAE port? Mid-frame heated panel or top mount single heated panel.
Riding two-up with a passenger who also runs heated gear? Dual heated panel top mount.
Want maximum SAE flexibility with conversion options? Double top mount.
Softail? Coil mount or tank mount depending on your year.
Heat deflectors? Make sure you get the heat deflector mount — it's in the store.
For pre-2024 Harleys without factory accessory barrel plugs, LAB carries the conversion cord that lets you connect directly to the battery. You're covered regardless of year.
