After hours. 49 Perfection comes in the form
of two letters. Am my LTD.
Welcome to Car. Talk on I29 North, best FM.
I am your studio host. Home joined online by the main
host mr. Met EJ.
Aegon good mate. How are you?
Good, thank you. And we've got a big house today.
We've got mr. Prince, it's destroyed or mr.
Is and something has visited a while, mr.
Adrian Allah back, the lack of a Stars.
How is everyone doing doing good?
Thank you. I would like to say the same but
you know, my issues. Yes hopefully you guys have been
well, Rizzy Adrian, Scotty, Alum and David.
How you guys been going good? Good.
It better than you. Thank you.
Yeah. Why would you that's enough to
show discussion? Well yeah.
But anyway guys, she's been having us we have another Adrian on a while so we'll get squashed.
Action. It's in the car updates.
Man, before you enter tonight's topic.
Adrian, what's happening with you been a while since I've had you on the show? And I know you're a busy man,
now, on a Tuesday evening. So you can't really draw on as
often but it, but we are blessed with your presence.
This evening happened that I, my plans change for today.
So I've all I can jump on. Sounds good, my friend, how are
you? How are you doing?
And updates with you, man? We haven't heard from much from
the M3 and anything in your world.
I did see that the R32 Golf is broken a few times so that that's that's standard practice VW stings.
But oh yeah. But with the beam with the BMW,
how's it going? Good, good really good.
I've been just slowly slowly chipping away at it.
I'm getting it ready for more and more shows.
It's getting to that point now. So that had a in Canberra, I
went up there was a BMW or German Day show up there, you know? So So, I went up to that, that
was good fun. However, the drive, it's got the
red interior now, doesn't it? Yeah, yeah.
The the seats aren't the best just yet, so I'm not a fan of it, but it's at least it's all contrast.
Like it's all the same color. Okay?
Because for a while there, I had three different coloured seats.
The red in the rear then heads to seats that I got from work one's black and one screen but yeah I've been trying to This fault with the seats. So I'm trying to find out where
that photo is. I thought it was actual seeds
themselves. It's not I think it's the airbag
module so just trying to find where it is, having a chance to actually, we're going to probably you're going to just help people was an individual, like, a really individual.
Yeah, that's exactly. I couldn't make my mind up and
what I would say I chose them all 11th things.
I wanted one grain that I wanted one red.
And I wanted one pink and I wanted one blue and and and in Autumn my dashboard yellow, so that's exactly it.
Yeah. But doing that, the bags are all
go well on it, which is really surprising change the wheels again because I've got a big brake upgrade on the front now.
Nice. Yeah, so that was a lot of fun
getting that ready. Re is a sitting here ready to go
on Just going to order right, client?
Which I haven't got around to but yeah, just been enjoying it.
Driving it every day. It's been reliable.
Yeah, yeah, fuck surprisingly. Yes, a very surprisingly, it
went up the camera and back by 12:00 case in skip a beat, very nice. I was so surprised about that
but yeah, this is, that's really bad it.
Yeah, sister's car had a The same thing.
All Mark 5 golf's have they've got a steering lock issue.
So with the K it doesn't what when you turn it off and pull the key out, it doesn't acknowledge by the ECU that the key is out. So when you lock the car, if
things are still on, And yeah, we have to smash a window to get into the car because we couldn't unlock it so that was an exciting day polished up. My dad's car.
So that actually is one of the only x 5 is going around with Bethenny, yellowing headlights. But yeah, honestly, that's
really been about it. It's just been work and yeah,
that other commitments after work these days.
So I'm busy that's good. Man.
Well, it's interesting. You said that but like back then
I did 12 on a cage without without a shaman.
Theoretical, you told that modern card, we shouldn't be having that conversation. Should we try?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, if I was to take my
Forrester old Forester, now again, outside of my garage, it's supposed to blow a head gasket according to the Internet. So the fact that I did a long
drive the other way, you know, without without issue.
Is a test of the, you know, it's a modern car.
I should be provided. You look after it should be
fine. Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, you're right. It's just, yeah, one of those
things that I don't know, being that title, the issues that it's hard, but I've done the van or something else as well.
So did that myself just chipping away at it.
So I'm starting to enjoy it more and more as each day goes on which is a good thing. I just wish I had a daily.
So So I could actually just enjoy it, not have to deal with the daily commute issues. Well you did have one for a
while. Yeah.
I think I need to get another one.
Going, to be honest, if you another index, well, you'll wish they cost too much these days. I don't know.
I can't decide next as daily something.
I can't touch in that. That's the hard part.
It's like everything I say that I could do this to what I could do that. It's like, I don't know, they
lie. So Yeah, I don't know yet.
We will see like Patrick and get a highlights or something and then you don't need to touch it at all.
It's a Hilux. If it's a 4x4 then I lift it
might Ease on it. Pull bar and then I'm out for
were driving and I break that. I'm going to get a full bow
through be the hottest forward to go around.
Yeah. It's it's got one of those at
the moment and we raced it against one of my maid slogans, that's Nae, but it's a for later as well.
Well, chopped it and we just said, pissing ourselves laughing. This is making an Eco tracker
that they do actually. They are actually, a fast
fasting days. I mean, David, you had, you had
one of those full liter V6 highlights that they go hard.
They do it did go hide it like to drink to it was.
Yeah, but yeah, but it's supposed things like you didn't even know there was anything on behind on the back of yours.
Brilliant. It's not my fuel.
So it's all good. I'm happy.
But yeah, that's just been busy. Honestly man hasn't stopped.
Well, it's good to see that the BMW is is all in.
Order is just just just clarifying before we move on because I do we didn't really answer this question but are all seats are same color currently currently.
Yes. Okay, good.
All right. What is that?
Red red. I've got an upholsterer looking
at the seats sometime between now and the end of the year when I have a chance to go down here at the top, He can't do anywhere from two to them until the new year.
So I'm not this crazy at the moment.
They're all booked at. Absolutely, everyone is.
Yes, and I get it. Like everybody wants to have the
car ready for summer Christmas break.
So let's have not to Foster them in because it is all the same colors. Just me personally, looking at
them, I can say, like, they're not finished to my standard that I want, just kidding me for a moment.
Let me tell you something about this.
Last time Adrian, you said you had organized.
These seats off another M3 convertible that were that were red and it was a direct swap. Are these genuine red seeds or
they are they okay, that that they don't read leather?
It just all it was is the upholsterer that I am to originally to get the leather from one seat because the frame this all rusty. Yeah, I've got the put onto my
seats, which are black ones. He didn't do a good job here.
All the wires for like the hate ads.
The seat sense. That's the whole reason I have
to restart again is because he's done all this work and basically destroyed them. Okay, so yeah, so now like they
I've made them work so I've solved it and will not let all the wires up. So that part works is just Yeah,
I'm just not happy about it. That's all that's fair enough.
Yeah, I don't get why they'd cut them up, but that makes no sense. I don't know.
It was just one of those things. No.
What do you do, man? Yeah, but as I said yeah I'll
come to terms with it. It's all the same color.
It looks good in photos from a distance cleaning out.
It's good from afar but far from good.
Yeah it's cool. A little Nixon aksed.
Honestly this when you look at how far the cars come realistically all I need to do is needs a bit of paint.
You don't Clump front bumper was fixing.
The seat is more something I personally want to do?
Yeah. And I just got to get this the
wheels refinished as well and that's really it like there's nothing else that needs to happen.
What's going to happen is a different story.
But what is going to happen turbocharger that you can't.
You can't really turbosupercharger these engines easily. Well, it is a 13 to 1
compression with also say that they're pretty high company way out there. Yes, playing of the cars on for
swaps. Nah, it's a little more Brown, I
won't get rid of that. At least until the engine goes
all the time. Then let's get to Jay-Z swap,
which is what I was originally going to do, but then this engine came along and I'm like, okay?
All right. So is it one for the Barons ba
Dei in a band? Yeah.
Been done. I still don't understand why,
why not? She wanted going baby.
You putting a heavier engine into a car that is made to be light. Yeah.
But you made it reliable over here in 54.
The 30s are like, one of the most part.
Most reliable, six, cylinders out there.
I'm going to make his go on. He begs to differ, but that's
another story when we get with, seriously, when we get those cars in with those engines, they wire doesn't matter if they've done half. Being caves or 100,000 case.
They're gone. People do exactly that isn't
that also the concern they going to be like need them because they are actually and you walk into a series Falcons and F-series Falcons and they'll all have their engines still in there. Never take it anymore.
Not anymore. You get any other.
Yeah. They're all taken out because
they get sold overseas overseas. I did that is true America's
getting by the container out of your BBC.
Yeah what the hell that's that's why everything is gone up in value. I'm telling you.
Now the M54 is going to be the next engine.
It's going to go like that once people know, why can't, why will they are? Yep.
Say goodbye to them too. Yeah.
Oh, speaking of that, just quickly, I was watching tic toc earlier today and I saw something that we had a conversation about a very, very, very long time ago.
As another Supercar. Yep.
Did you say, Lor believe it or not.
I am I'm not a I'm not a tick. Tock, Ian or the quick question,
what's Tick-Tock? It's like vine.
Do you remember mine? Oh yeah yeah the six-second
videos or whatever. Yeah like that but longer
videos. All right, right.
Yep. No I so turned around.
There was a guy that was around the whole by certain cars and he goes to another guy then he's like one car that you could get rid of like it never existed and he turns around and he's like the non Supercar R35 GT-R and I'm like so some strange said get rid of a GTA V and this for you your point is well and I don't think so that actually is because I do have a picture somewhere where a Supercar YouTuber are Is another 35 a
Supercar and I think was 52% of great.
It is not and the other 48 percent are morons.
Well those definitely that's within you know the standard error. So realistically that that's a
just a wash of you know I've heard that is cells from a YouTuber and death. These are from opinions of a
whole bunch of little teeny boppers will use tick tock and stuff. Exactly.
You know what, I never really got your car, communities, and, and, and, and stuff like that. It's especially these days.
Like, you know, this, the reason why I'm going to comments and things anymore, it's because I like, you get that pressure.
I like as soon as you go there, like you rock up in your car.
Like when I am I type in the first one I went to, what have you done to it? I've nothing yet.
Well I haven't done anything to it.
Well how come you haven't put 30,000 pounds of boost in it and and all this stuff. So I would seek a big ask that
question. I and then next question that I
was like, well why didn't you buy?
What did you buy the new model one, you buy the more powerful version. One you buy this.
I'm just like I'm getting to right.
Why didn't work? Why did you, why did you buy
373? Amazed what you should have.
Disabilities should have bought a.
You should have bought a Judea 1 U by dou.
T are all. So what did you buy?
Judy is on a Supercar or what why did you buy a hurricane?
That's that's not a proper Lamborghini that that's Meg LD like to be. I agree with what you're saying
and this is something that actually just opened up.
My eyes recently as well is, I don't got a car meets anymore.
All right. I'm talking about how I made
sort of how that go binding, super cheap Autobahn like any car park comic. I am not interested in going to
even the slightest love meaning. I mean, when you use, but after
going to the old German day in Canberra, It actually opened up my eyes to car shows. Car shows and I just went to
motor classical as well. I realized speaking to a lot of
the people there. They don't care what you've
actually done to your car. They just look at the car and
they help feed off that the Good Vibes that come from that car.
Well, I think it's like Nation event, Adrian, right?
Like it's a popular event where it's been, it's a proper event, but it's just the people that go Different to who go to these comments. The people that go to these
comments, young people that think everything has to be so way you're going to follow the certain rules.
And that's how you have this really nice car.
Whereas when you actually go to a proper car show, it's people that are of the older generation and they talk to you about the car. Are and what it actually is.
So when I was in Canberra, there was a couple of other people there that had the in threes as well.
There were groups not convertibles.
There's one day, the did have a convertible, the hard copy as well and we'll just talking about the cars what they're worth okay? How the article all the parts
that you can get from the factory and all that kind of stuff. And it was just it was a good
vibe as in you leave the conversation.
Since you like, you know what, I actually enjoyed that and it goes to show that people aren't all bad.
Right? A classic car.
Oh, I just went to that which I will talk about in just a second but there was a few BMWs if it's a 50 years of amnesty are.
So I'm really trying to get around to like all the BMW means because I want to see And it was the same thing.
You're talking to the people there and they all it's the same thing. Talking about the cars.
They had a lineup of Empires from the oldest of his a 24 then it was the E34. E39 E60 all in fives and you
talk to the owners of them. Now look I don't have it in
five. I've got it in three within,
they still turn around and say, no, that's still an awesome.
Out of haven't stopped talking to me about the M5.
He'll know how to and it's just, a pleasant Vibe.
Where is even going to Northern galaxies days?
I went to the one that just happened.
It was last weekend and the weekend before, and I couldn't stand being there for more than five seconds.
I drove in. And as I drove in, you let all
these people or what's you stood?
Your wood sister Anja. Everybody has to comment, you
know, like, you know what? Why why Am I even bothering turn
around and drive out? But not even gonna bother Sorry.
But as I said, yeah, I want much, much more preferred going to propagations. It's just the generation.
They just different. It's not about picking on the
weakness of that person and what they've done in the car.
So bringing out the positives, which the space I think Adrienne is the, is the big thing, watch this?
Yeah. Yeah, motor Classic on anybody
go. Yep.
I we did. You have what?
They do? Go riding lucky.
You what other Sunday? So, so good.
I had planned to go on the Sunday, but that didn't eventuate know. That I went, I'm going to say it
was really good seeing Jessica in person and and The Pagani her. All right, although she never
been to murder classical before I wanted to go for the first time this year. I know it's like you really
high-end high-end expensive stuff there, but not all of it.
But not from what I've heard, not all of it was and that's actually quite good to hear. I know, David.
You've been a judge there once before, right?
Yeah. Did I judged in 2019?
When they The Japanese cars on display a headache collect, and for the first time, Japanese cars will be made of classica and that probably had probably 15 maybe 20 cars there which worked really well. And a lot of people said how
good it was and everything but new organized, this year motor, classic career reimagined was the catchphrase evidently but yeah I looked and looked and looked and inside I was there on Friday and the rain outside was Poland.
I feel sorry for anybody that had bought their car along to display outside on the Friday. But yeah, there was there was a
in the icons of speed there was a matter of Honda, which was a little land, speed record car that I'd never seen before, but I had to Google it video that I had a 500 cc.
Honda engine. That was the only Japanese
vehicle on the inside of the cup of the hillside tests.
You're 100% right? Even when I went on the Sunday,
I think there was All yeah, for Japanese cars, outside.
The 31 are 30 if be RX-7, and some little disappointing that I couldn't tell you what it was. And there was a, there was a
petition Progeria there on Saturday and a Toyota Landcruiser. That's fine from.
I've got a highball guys. But now, I was lucky enough to
get offered a ticket on Friday, by actually, if she had a long-term, cut talk with manage a listener.
Michael Green who Gillison guy, Michael had a great time.
Thank you very much, you know, and he he had a spare ticket.
So I went along and I was sort of waiting for that phone call in the time, leading up to it thinking, I wonder if I get a gig judging again, because I quite enjoyed it, but no no call came. And I can see why now, because
there were no Japanese cars to judge, so it was great.
It was some absolutely stunning cars on.
In there was a I loved the there was some great old.
Alphas, they're beautiful, fierstein kupe.
And sort of lemony yellow Dino coupet reminded me of the Original Italian job, all the mafia Drive black ones.
When they threw the causal to Side of the Mountain.
That was a beautiful thing to see.
Beautiful Citroën DS wagon. There was a gorgeous out.
That was your idea. Yep.
Yeah, yeah. Did you see the group b Alpha?
That was a blue one. The Geo catalog.
Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah, that was interesting. Say, I got to be I did like
that. I do not see one of those
before. No, no.
No. Okay.
Okay, you know what? I was actually surprised about
those the amount of icing problems that were there because I was actually looking into it. They are real, they're not
Kick-Ass. Yeah.
You know, actually region. Don't think if I'm any kid cars
that matter classica. I don't think that's the nah.
Surprised me the most was actually one of the original 289 cars before they brought out the 427's.
Hmm, I was just so surprised by saying that such a stunning car that had an Alum, oo, to them as well.
The rainbow the other red wine that was cool outside.
So this year, which I think they did really, really well, is they had a sponsorship sponsorship was from wall back.
So, we'll barricades basically, I'm going to say they whole arsenal of cars at the front. Dad's 30-odd cars.
I think with it. One thing that struck me out
with amongst the law book collection was the BMW display.
They had a great to see how they would name to on display.
They also say if you see them to know, I didn't actually to be perfectly honest, I didn't go inside but I started Just as we sort of got there but that him three touring there.
They also had this thing. Now, correct me if I'm wrong for
a memory was called an XM which XM there's a Veteran Electric.
I know, you'll let your car that's just coming out real nice. That's been released. 30 seconds
down the ugliest car I've ever seen.
Yes, added Cacho. I did many, many years.
Did you know what? I don't understand is how do
they think brown suede Dash looks good.
How do you think they go to repair it when by just looking at the carnival? This looks good.
Yeah, that was a bit of a shocker because we sort of came in at entrance and I saw that I've, I had to walk over and look at it because I was looking from a distance and I thought I don't even know what that is. It's like, it's all about him,
but it's Anyway even that that and the M3 touring.
Honestly I got to say it's one of the best looking cars over the seat apart from the fact of the color that color ruin the car. Nothing just like yeah.
It's like yeah it's like a match set black, it just ruins the car. If we're gonna go to say the
buck tape of ruined it, but if you don't, honestly it didn't look at that. Instant.
You're right identity, it especially partner.
X to the x m. It was going.
I think that's what it was. It's actually quite because
there's a lot of discussions to what have they done.
Yeah, but that's been the case with BMW design of the last lights, five years ago. So Yeah, so that was good.
Actually I've got to say quickly, it was a couple of very nice BMW save money. You would have actually enjoyed
looking at them. Hmm.
As I said, I do not not like BMWs Adrian.
Like I know, I give him a lot of crap affair with Fair reason, but I I do not not like them. I actually, only, they had three
be of W8 series. Oh, you know what?
40s. And one I think, was at 8:45
CIO. What do I do?
Just just a beautiful cars. They are a nice car.
I had a few mercs to. I was going to say that few old
maps and I enjoyed that of speed.
The new kind of sick. Is it the Jesco?
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Nothing is nice to see.
You know what? Actually got me and I Absolutely
fell in love with. It was the role Ferraris that
they had in the center at the start like the hide.
I think it started off with the 308.
GT o, I think it was 288 GTO. Sorry don't I don't know my
fiery of that era. Then those F40, if 50 and ends
are all one after the other center of the vehicle, the building and get this is Ferraris, that's the other one tiny house. So Oh yeah.
That was one of the things that the show this year is 75 years of Ferrari. I think.
So, that's why they dragged all those out.
I actually prefer the ones to the side of them.
Actually, the rows of the classics, which is stunning.
There's a beautiful thing. It's called Pine Green 365
boxer. Yeah, so that it's stunning.
Metallic almost like a metallic. Almost like a metallic pink
almost. It was a really sort of
rose-colored. 3:30. Which was just stunning.
Beautiful Daytona. This is it that I have the data?
There are? Yeah, there's a super day know.
I think that's what I was looking at and then write down the back, actually it dab. Just need the quite a sec.
They had a, they had a 308 GT4, which is a was, the the successor of the original Dino, which is also badge Dino.
And next to that part, sort of opposite was a Lamborghini urraco. And yes.
And a lot of people confuse the two, you know like that and it was was until our park side by side they are very similar looking cars like she did you see the red?
Yes. Yes.
It was like the OG is in before they put all the body kit on it.
Yep. That was your car, much prettier
car. Yeah, actually, that's something
you would have liked their money.
All the original phase, 3 x YG T.
Hm, do you like orange? And I did see that they also had
vitamin C a six-pack charger there.
Yeah. Yes they did.
I was like, that's a bit of me. That's how I like those that had
to testarossa's as well. Love them.
What there's a mirror. Let me give you my number.
I do like those ahead and then it's like Sandman actually one gdr guarana if you had a couple of HT arrows, like all the odds you stuff was there as well. Did you see the Landau?
The L poured Landau? Yes.
Yes. So that that was that was a cool
card receipts you don't see them every day.
I own a direct descendant. But anyway.
That's but yeah. So overall good day.
Yeah, actually I was just going to say it was a good surprise me that they would not be from the single biggest growing enthusiasts grouping of classic cars in the country you know.
So I think they did themselves a disservice in doing that and hopefully next year that might change.
But yeah, they can't people can argue the Japanese cars on classic cars in my the only thing that was really disappointing to me is I think it's just because I might be biased that the whole 50 years of em so far, every one that I've gone through, they're not doing the 50 years of Injustice.
Like it's they're not bringing out the cars that are like oh this is 50 years of em. He is all like the M cars.
It's just basically the same batch drawings, like every Army.
Oh, I think that's I guess we never got the full range of Em's of a soldier, though, to look, but I don't think they were Gave the BMW car club of Australia, E46 M3 CSL and 08.
Yeah, which was really cool. But this one is they had an M4
GTS competition. The had the CSL there and they
had the new I for the had like five cars from BMW Australian.
It's like if you're saying it's 50 years of em that's not even like a good range of M cars, it was just to me very Appointing that they didn't bring out more? I even doing a call to arms like
what of the Camera Club did as well, which is have you got any of these Empires you do? Let us know.
We pack them up. So it's just, I guess that's the
part that I'm going to be disappointed.
And I also agree with David, no jack cars.
It's you look at the cars that are coming out today, like, you need to acknowledge the classics.
I agree. I agree.
I thought it would because especially like when people are completely going him at Shannon's over an original G C8 W, RX that's in mint condition and this man.
Yeah. You know for that not to be
considered a vertical as a classic.
I think to be ridiculous but but it's like you go to classic Japan or all those cars that are, they're not even one this out of the park up for the day and it's like, okay, I get it in my because it's it Difference In Crowd, but that's where we should really be saying, it's modok.
Jessica, it's more about the classic cars.
Let's get them across. Well, let's see what the
different next year. I think that that'll be, that'll
be really watch this space. This place is a big thing for
it. Will go around the room because
we have a 7 caught up with rears Alum, Scotty or David's car updates wrists elbows with you. My friend.
No, real updates are such on 12 after the Kia went back to solve for some Performance Tuning. Nothing specifically new as
such. I am going for a Mercedes eqb
launch tomorrow off to Ballarat. Cool.
Don't ask me why. They're doing a national
watching like leaving Melbourne and going to Ballarat.
That is we write one in Sovereign Hill new rose gold color. Yeah, yeah.
We don't know yet because I'm not sure if the roses are growing in Ballarat, but there's definitely gonna be a bit of rose, gold situation tomorrow, Sunday, Rio Kastle.
Don't know they're heading heading back on Thursday, which apparently the Reagan is going to be a lot of rain.
So we'll see how good the German electric wipers are.
And yeah, that's what's happening this week and not I think the following week I get byd forward by the MG said s for 10 days. Normally I'm Keen to see how
they all go really wrong. I mean there won't be as amazing
as are obviously the podcast sponsor have Al and their products but it's there may come close, you know?
I mean it was I mean it's I wasn't expect him to be to be to that thing anyway. But but you know, nothing is to
that standard nothing's that I see and I see One more video that byd tablet. Yo, rotating through 90 degrees.
I think he'll like, how are you supposed to build your dreams?
If you can't look at a tablet in the car.
Yeah, you need to be on another sort of tablet.
I think it's funny. Yeah, that's right.
But it's funny that do you know, Tara's only electric car that be said for X was very poor because Cuz the wheels fell off now, literally they recall the car in America because the wheels were falling off because of not stay, you know, used on the car, they recalled it to a stage where four months they had no solution to the problem. They told the customers bring it
back to us we'll give you five thousand dollars of will buy the car from you. Imagine Terror going and saying,
we'll buy the car off you because we can't design a nuts that hold the wheels together. And then Early last speaker,
been back in production because they found a solution.
And they found another problem that they've also found a solution to that's supposed to be the sister car with a Subaru, soltera electric or something and they can't do it.
So, going back to byd, they have begged byd to make a sedan for them. That's like a Toyota Corolla
sedan in China, only for the Chinese market because Toyota can design their own electric cars.
How does that? Work?
The biggest car company called design a car in a segment.
So that one's called the bees f3x designed in collaboration, with BYOD, which byd will supply the motors, the battery, all it is is a terror design on the outside.
So Toyota is in a little bit of trouble in a market where they're sold over. 600,000 new energy Vehicles last month.
So hundred thousand six hundred thousand New energy vehicle.
So these are own I think about 520,000 or pure Electric in China last month and just over 100,000 were plug-in hybrids.
So anyway, that's that's what what the situation is with our biggest manufacturer at the moment.
Wow, you've had a big week. Yes, I have finally picked up
the D-Max on Thursday. Finally got it.
Max as well Jokes Aside. Yeah, it was a very pleasant
experience. We transferred over the money, I
did get annoyed by dealership a little bit.
I told him that you know, I could bring them other check, we will transfer just to let me know ahead of time because my back limitations is, you know, not number transferring like, you know, sixty thousand dollars at once.
So that's why I've asked the gentleman and said, yeah, check, should we find a bank? Should be fine.
And then basically a day beforehand, Two days before any he said, no we're not checking taking checks anymore because somebody made a fraudulent bag. Check.
I'm like those are pretty hard to make, you know, like a personal check. I understand.
But a bank check that was pretty certified items.
And so I was like, well now I'm have to scramble so the final payment was made on the day which you pick up the truck, or the ID, which they accepted. So I was happy with and with the
briefcase $100 see That was one of the possible solutions.
The only issue there is you have to fill out some paperwork if you give them all the ten dollar bills, some tax-related body to yourself. Don't like a full suit,
everything about plastic bag. So looks Shady.
Connors call be nicer than what was with the STI actually went through. All the features of the car.
It got to the point I was like, well, kind of be on my way now, I've got other things to do, but they were very very thorough.
And yeah, my mom, my brother or my sister came along and they all had a ride. And it also lets, you know, a
final car, my sister, once again, brought up the topic of when she was going to get her car which again, she lives independently, you know, in her own home.
I don't understand why she's He's asking us, but here we are.
So yeah, it was a good experience.
The only thing the other thing that kind of got me goes every single brand new cover. Purchased has come with full
tank of fuel. This one just came with a bit of
a corner. Well I was like you know I
understand diesel is that 2.16 later or whatever but come on
you know can't give me my first tank of fuel on the house.
That's ridiculous. Yeah, they might have learned
about it but Have you still got the STI?
Or yes, this is just it's in the garage looking pretty enough.
Yeah, so I think we've got about 250 case only to Mac so far.
So bringing it in quite quickly compared to other cars over.
It just took a few times. You are.
Ideally, you supposed to have mixed roving Adrian, ideally.
So yeah, just around town and obviously we've got the keys to our new house on Friday, so it's actually worked out quite fortuitously. Move stuff around.
So you know the bed has he been used to move large items already which is going to want to take off the old Ute dubbed of wood and I did I drove over the nature strip to pocket so it's gone Offroad. So two men that are in there you
get to do something. I will do something.
Maybe on the weekend. So yeah.
That came with the Tie by then, yes.
Well, we motion it over. The other thing that makes the,
MX-5 I actually was planning on taking it to some motor trimmers this week to hopefully get an understanding of what it's going to cost to repair the roof because it's got that are with the window is and So the tendency, but from what you've told me right now is I'm probably get an appointment with them. Till next year, depends, if you
guys somewhere, good or somewhere in the best.
Yeah, I'm probably gonna go to somewhere, like the ones I looked at, they've got hydras era in our local area.
In the north. I'm gonna somebody with reviews
from positive reviews. Also, somebody that people only
saw a little South East Side recommend to people in the north because they can't do the work themselves.
So if another business is recommending your business, I'd say that's That's pretty positive.
Skew this quite a few good places on Baker's work.
I think that's, that's really good.
Yeah. So hopefully I'll get a timeslot
some time in the New Year, mostly runs the season's over and, you know, the MX before I was managed to not get drenched inside. So I'm proud of it.
I still would like, the, you know, softer repair to some extent. That's okay.
I've tried. I tried to tape when Ask for it.
Just did not hold the idiot, the 200 mile an hour.
I like your idea that you're not preaching, but I think I'll go something a little more permanent.
I think, David would advise that when she did I would.
So that's it for me. Yeah, happy with the new car.
It was you features a big drive but is, you know, a ute so Yeah, I'm expecting a tan on one arm and yeah yeah the tub for the slabs of beer and you'll be writing what you need to wear singlet cigarette and truncus out with you.
I do not have any updates at the moment.
Cool, what's happened? It's getting close.
Nice. Nice in the before that's
running fine. No drums.
Was that, that's good, that's good.
I made a mistake recently linking up.
Scotty and my friend. Daniel, so they both are 31
owners. And now, he pressuring me to
purchase, another 31, it does have your name on at that one that was put up there long. It was no bread.
Bargain these days for an R 31 luggage and I would have got that job mr. Since I capped at with me, I
will also have to worry about a classical which I've already done. That was pretty brilliant.
However, to the collection this week, now you've got to understand. I am not looking, it's like that
Seinfeld episode, I'm not interviewing for friends.
Okay. But sometimes these things just
come across, so come across your inbox and where you think that's that's sort of a little bit of me that's coming up.
Very prevention of those too good to refuse, David, I'm sorry, will you Until an offer that was too good to refuse.
Let's say an opportunity arose, shall we say it's probably best.
So I proud owner of a bright red hot, the city.
So it's the person selling the car was going on behalf of the person that had owned it for 37 years.
Well, it's a very original tidy little car.
Not without its foils, but it's all there and it's Very good little project to tidy up, which we're in the process of doing so, watch this space. So do when you say it's all
there, is it? Unlike its previous owner?
Don't know if she's crazy. She's absolutely thrilled.
She's actually moved into State and didn't want to take the car with it and decided it was time, new start, new Interstate, new car that sort of thing. So, Yeah, yeah.
So it's, it's a very tidy little car.
As I said, there's a little thing in most 37 year-old.
Things do need some work. I simply being with me one time
ago and I've never been one for naming my cars.
You know a lot of people do some people don't it's never been high on my list of priorities but this one is naughty evidently it's been naughty for 37 years so it's probably going to remain naughty if I'm not start.
If you Call it not? Yes but is now I think that is a
perfectly. A really good explanation as to
why to keep it naughty. It's as as most of you know the
locally delivered proteins. He were a commercial vehicle
basically. So there to see this one's never
had a receipt fitted to it. Looks like it's never actually
had anything in the back of it actually.
So but yeah, every little conceivable thing that should be there is there so yeah it's really nice to see a really tidy original one on the road now, It's pretty rare to see them because look, great with wheels and some, you know, bits and pieces. But no, it's going to stay
absolutely bog-standard. Actually, shout out to anyone
in, trying to keep it standard. I do want to set of tires, but
12 inch tires are not the easiest sort of ties to cut.
That combine are so. The most E Scooters have bigger
tires. These they're staying at brings
up golf cart tires and wheels. Oh tyres are no it's actually
got, it's nice. It's got some curly P3 thousands
on it at the moment but they're about 18 years old.
So I think it deserves. New tires would want to look at
this car. Mr. Prince.
Well, you'll be looking at it. Don't you worry about that?
I believe. We're not when I picked it up.
Actually you know you know after an old Honda.
So I know and the other one seems to be no I'm not.
Not presented itself in a timely fashion.
Don't you have enough? Cause we can talk about that
later. It's the answer is always is
Never Enough cause Adrian, that's everything.
Here is my card dates. Adrian.
The Merc is gone. It's not long in my possession.
It's like that one. The real question is, didn't
make it all the way to do this. I don't know.
I've been trying to call the person and I haven't responded.
So sure. So that's another.
No news is good news. I think that's all gonna go
with. I think that's what we'll go
with. Basically.
I mean they picked up on the weekend when I was, you know, sitting in a hospital bed and I was a bit sad and you get this to didn't get to see it go because I'm actually yeah, I do.
You grab onto the, but, you know, the card, you get fixed pretty quickly during the week. And as a final, big middle
finger to me. It's owner for trying to fix it.
It cost me $800. So a whole new, it turns out the
actual distributor module, completely, just died.
So, new distributor module new, this new, that new coil, and a few other bits and pieces. Just to make sure it was all
good and she was up and running again, drove it home.
Full of faultlessly. I should You drive better than
it's ever driven to be fair. I was like, I was like, now,
you're dropping good, they know, they know, they know, absolutely no. And I'm like, look like all my
profit that I made in this car is now officially just zero.
Like I'm - understand now because of you, but, you know, it's okay. It's it'll still be in the
Realms of like I know where it is and stuff and so it's a good score to it's going to a person that I know.
Cry know, quite well. And he said to me, he will
cherish it Look after because he's a big fan of it so he make me that parts of that. Rubbles.
He helped it's funny. It wasn't the labor of that
Carla was expensive. Ask you to work on the car was
pretty easy. It was the part that was just
ridiculously expensive on it because you never asked, someone works, if your Apostle died. But, yes, yes.
Well, I've learned my lesson and, and to be fair, I just was like, to my mechanic. I'm like, I need the car back
because it's going. So, he's like, a little, I'll
just get a quickly for. I'm like, whatever and
installed. And so yeah, it should be.
It should be I think they should be that they should be there by now. Really.
What else do you earn? What else do I own everything
else is the same except so well, I've got rid of two cars this year. Thank you very much Adrienne.
I've got I've got to read the Forester and them saying are you going to the fuzz? Yep it's gone.
Why I thought you loved nothing place where the Fiesta ST you still with the LTD that's opposite the moment so that's that's a next month ago. 7800. Which I think's a fair price.
Yeah. But I go for it's a very
original car with all its goodness.
I think it's I think it's a great price so that was that I took the MR2 out for a drive. This is before I ended up with
kidney stones, then that's your answer to everything else earlier and and met up with a guy from Peru.
Now, this guy in Peru, he he he messaged me on Instagram what we collected a while ago and been meaning to catch up and he used to own an MR2 in Peru and he moved to Australia and his English isn't very good and stuff.
But but but he's the, she's due at the two favorite cars.
He's ever owned, were with the, a double oven amongst you and Annie 33. 18 is. So he's big fan of, you know,
little fun, cars in the 80s and he saw my knees like eyes.
I was like, I love it. It's like how much do you want
for it? I'm like, I'm not sell here.
And he's like if you ever see one, let me know.
Real talking, and it was just like it was just so nice to see someone so excited to see a car like, like that.
It was just, it was just, there was in the funny thing was where I'm where we met up was where we caught up David at, pull Melbourne, don't know what there's a Lamborghini, right?
Like Park, right next to me. And there's people all the
Lamborghini and he didn't, like, he walks up to Mike.
He didn't did not even notice them again.
He's like whatever you is like a bit of butter, so I was like, I'll take that. It's a small wins in life.
Absolutely. And he was just like just to
see, like the smoke is like eyes.
The first time I've seen in Australia, I've been, I've been here for a year now and this is the first time I've actually seen in person and so yeah, he was like, I was telling me about his one and and he gets past the same guy.
I get my parts from the UK and so, yeah, big shout-out to him.
It was, it was, it was pretty chill, but then obviously got left outside because I didn't get a chance to plug it in because I got rushed to hospital.
So, I'm going to give it a class called bird poop, and stuff all over at the moment or from where it was parked.
And I've got it, I've got it at home now so should be all Good.
But yeah, I think that's virtually it on me.
In terms of my updates. There is, you know, I know you
got to go man. Thanks for coming on, buddy.
We'll talk to you next week. We'll have to let us know how
the it's a Mercedes Benz. There goes and then that's all
right. My man now that I know Mercedes
is no longer with you in the form that it was in.
I'll do what I can to provide some of this Mercedes indulgences for the card whole crew Ooh, so all good.
Thanks for having me on gents, I'll catch you next time, your dreams are is here is about fuel.
Now, in terms of fuel, you who puts in wide, and if you guys have an affinity to certain fuel Brands and then and certain things you put in, it's it's a tricky one because I see a lot of trucks come out of the fuel center in that the refinery and Cecile at Albi only going to go Williamstown.
And they're all got different brands on them and I always draw drive at it. So I'm just assuming like every
fuel is the same but but, but according to people it's not.
So I would always put ice to put shell 98.
Then, I went to be P90 and that's kind of where I've stayed. Really apple?
Is where I'm at impact Falstaff 98.
My BMW seems to like it. That's the thing too, right?
It's like certain cars, I guess feel better.
Uncertain finds. You know what?
You're not funny that you mention that.
When I heard the Falcon I've got to say, Like 98 it.
Did not like she'll no matter what.
Shall I went to it did not like the Shell Fuel.
All right. Yeah.
Where's went to BP? Loved it.
Hmm. Interesting.
Have you ever had that issue with any of your cars do?
Yes, I've got to say I somebody actually did a job for a guy who's in the petrochemical industry and I've asked him exactly that question and he said be peace want to use which I've used regularly. On pretty much all my cars since
then and and optimal show you to call a doctor Mac.
I think tonight Lexia. Yeah, I can't say that.
I was ever a hugely, a fan of that.
The Newark had the new Hondas that we've had, didn't seem to make much difference, you might get bit further on it, but certainly performance-wise, you didn't.
I choose BP, 98 in the Scamp. So I figured you know, any
update boost is a good thing with with that car.
But yeah, I've been very happy with it and when Scotty started this conversation, he said that he noticed a difference in the in the mileage. You were getting.
Yeah. So this is just in the Subaru.
Be for, I've always, I don't know why.
I've just always stuck with BP. Ultimate never had dramas with
any of their fuels, for all my Japanese cars.
Every single ones always run off that and I have heard.
The past that someone's done a test before and found out when it comes to the octane ratings and the things that additives and stuff, that BP is the way to go.
So I kept it that way. And I was just thinking, you
know, 98, 98. So I thought I'd try something
else and I know Adrian just mentioned about ampoules, I've got one just across the road was nice and close.
I thought, you know, not only a scenario, I'll give it a go and I've had a few tanks in there but I probably average between 50 to 80 kilometers less than what?
I feel, the ultimate and that's not any different kind of driving. It's similar driving as opposed
to when I was running it on BP. I'm not doing anything different
or not booting, it any harder. I'll probably being a little bit
more lenient on it because I haven't taking it too far or anything like that. Yeah, it's just, it's a lot of
lot. More case.
Isn't it out of the tank? Yeah.
It was getting pleasure. Half a tank way faster than
previous. So and then, you know, it was
just dropping as soon as like, you kind of pick up, because I always reset every single time just to check out the case.
So, you know, I've had the car for many, many years, I've gone through tons and tons of Tanks of fuel.
So you tend to start to pick up where the needle is, and, how many days you've kind of troubled especially because mine, doesn't really stay on the full.
For very long, you know, I'd probably get Bailey about 40 to 50 cases in its or even less and it's already dropping off the full Mark usually about 250 case and I'll be sitting at about half half a tank, I was maybe sitting about 200 cases.
It was already hovering right on half a tank.
Well yeah, big difference. Yes.
I was just coming. And then I'm thinking well I
mean I'm not really hitting boost and I know it can Be thirsty. The before, if I'm giving a hard
time hitting boost all the time, but I hadn't been I just being kind of pain long to work and staff.
A little mix of maybe some freeway cruising as well.
I think that's when it hits. Its element is freeway freeway
cruising. It's when I get you know, well
over 400 cases out of tank easy, you know, I drove all the way from from, you know, craigieburn all the way up to Ararat and then all the way back again on the same tank.
And I got back with about a quarter quarter of a tank left.
So I think that kind of driving what helps it the most, but your normal day-to-day driving. Yeah, it would chew through it
but I just noticed, you know, such a major difference and that was a few tanks going through it.
Not just, you know, a one-off tank of ampoules a few.
So, you know, kind of kind of odd with that at the moment.
It's got a full tank of She'll 98 in there at the moment.
These we go, okay, so far but it's still fairly fairly early days as it's only done about 48 case on it so far.
So it's interesting. You say that.
So it's interesting because I spent a few tuners like especially like after the having the Falls done and they were like, BP 98, that's it. And like the, the typhoon when
that got to perform a service and before my Other had on it on his 1985, it was beeping 98, you know, like that.
That's, that's what, that's what they, they recommend.
And a lot of people like not beeping On th the way to go, I did a test a few years ago in my typhoon and I ran it strict strictly on like certain things and I ran it on V Powell for a while. And km, I got virtually the same
out of that as I did in the BP but I felt like the BP had a bit more bit more, go. Whether whether that was Placebo
or not, I don't really know. But then I watched a video on I
think was 5th gear, they did one and they put was called optimax back down now. And then there was the have that
and they had the BP ultimate 98 and they see which one which one would use more power armors illness do optimized with such very power that produce more power and had the better better gains and in the same car on the same same, Dino, same day, they just they just, you know, change the change the change London and I it wasn't, it was it was pretty Nguyen, negligible differences. In terms of In terms of that.
But I think if you if you're doing better on BP, 98 stick the stick to what you know because it's, you know, at least you'll you're going to get that extra mileage.
I've also noticed as well. Yeah, it depends on how you
drive like absolutely absolutely.
Maybe if I fight for me, if I be complete cock, it's going to, it's going to be it's going to be really, I'm going to watch.
I'm going to physically watch it go down.
Well I don't driving to work and back every day, like I'm just not that. I'm hammering all the I'm just
driving normally, and I would be lucky to get about For 450 case out of the tank. But then, when I went up to
Canberra, I did 700. And that's long distance driving
like because the car the cars we'd have to spend is not enough to start having to work hard to get it back to that speed up down, up down, up, down along the time.
And I think, I think a true test is like, is like half and half of City driving a half and half of, you know, country freeway driving, you know, I'm especially with the laser, like I do a lot of that with driving to drive, Interstellar space, she lives. She lives obviously in
Williamstown to driving on the freeway there and, and, and coming back through the city and, and, and also and All sorts of things. So it gets a workout that car in
and I average it's got a 45 litre tank on average about 550, you know? So and that's but but when I,
when I first got that car, I couldn't get more than 430 case out of a tank in that and after that was pretty pathetic and in a to later but that's what I was using, that's when I was using V Powell strictly. So then I went to 98 on so BP 98
and I've been gradually getting better fuel fuel going so but also, my younger people today is I was quite a Heavier heavier, do we say Leadfoot Leadfoot? Yeah, well that's the term.
It's interesting. It's interesting will have to I
guess you know keep it. I think we should do what we
should. We should do a test.
I think we should all run one week just the MVP right than the case right down like you try and do it as specific scientifically as we can cut it with a white jackets as well, of course.
Absolutely. And what we need, test tubes and
beakers, and then all Bunsen burners and and all sorts of stuff that that yeah, that'll make it through an official test. It will just going to have a
video of every time we've got the fuel in the baker over the Bunsen. Burners explodes in your face.
Every time I'll be at the Whiteboard just doing some maths two plus two equals four. Yes, yes yeah.
Yes, I like I like to do. I like to do things like that,
but I will happily do my own personal experience but my so I know so far, the most common is the most range out of beeping on yet. So that's that's where I throw
by. And it seems like it's a pretty
genuine consensus between you to.
More impulsive side but I guess we'll see how your how your Show run goes Scotty. Yeah and then I think I'd like
to try the 7-Eleven because they use mobile field house wouldn't mind giving them an oil, good things about their fields.
So well they're the two I use I use mobile and I use and I use 7 of I use mobile if I can't get to us that if I can get to a BP so I can have it turned off mobile. just because of the fact
that when I went to Canberra, that was Free mobile like mobile branded service on the way, and every single one of them did not have 91 or 98. Really?
Yeah, the next survey was a show and I had 91 and 98.
Wow. Just like, really, yeah, that is
why they're all like, within 10 minutes of each other agents conspiracy. You remember the racing fuel?
You have to when they'll be racing she's 15 years ago it was 101 octane. Yeah cool.
And at the time if you filled up with fee racing I think a certain amount like I know every thirty dollars or something.
You get these Ferrari playing cards.
Yeah. Well how did is I remember
those? Yeah.
Be racing hundred. Not pain, but they've still got
a few of those somewhere actually.
Yeah, I might still have some kicking around somewhere.
Yeah, laughter, bring them out, but do it with the head of gas as well. Don't remember half gasps.
No, I guess was like, what the drag races used to use back in the day that was there. It was there.
I remember people going to like acid and Airport to get out of gas and all that kind of stuff here.
Cards correctly, where smell good?
Oh yeah, nice and sweet. Hmm.
Now, we're going to 85 for that now.
Now, well, that's good because a lot of them have to do with this with this, with this, with this experiment.
I think I think that that well guys, I'll probably do a couple times, not just one. Yeah, but I did run the, the
other fuel out pretty low. I had was about just under 15 L
left, so it's pretty low. Yeah, a few left in in the tank
before I put it all fresh. Ciao.
And then I'll just run another to also tanks.
See how I go? Nice word, keep your eyes on
this. Keep us posted with.
Think it's time for the quiz. I'm not ready for this.
I think there's no next week, too.
Yes, bonding should be back next week.
Absolutely bully. My this to you hasn't had a go
at it. Cryptic cars with Scotty yet.
No, see how we go. Well Adrian, it's good to have
you back for the for the quiz. 10 questions.
Plus some bonus questions, you know how it is.
Let's get into a question 1. How many generations of the Ford
Taurus? Did we get here in Australia?
David? David 11 because it was a
mental. Spelaea, Horace, Horace.
Yeah, we got one generation of it.
Spec tours? Yeah correct yeah.
What a great car not a great car.
No question to what color am I have done one of these in a while known as the second generation of this particular vehicle here in Australia. This car was was known sorry
this vehicle was known in other parts of the world.
As its first generation I featured a flat 4 cylinder engine with a mid layout and offered an up to offer up to an automatic transmission or manual gearbox.
Now this flat 4 cylinder was not your typical flat for as You would see in a boxer it was in line after only is a petrol here in Australia, this generation in other countries received supercharged version which eked out more power and torque it featured Five Doors to which slid and had many seats.
What car am I Oh my goodness, that's a tricky one.
Hmm. Does it in like fourth on?
It's like a 75 degree angle like almost virtually flat offered up with automatic or manual transmissions.
We only got them as a petrol here, this generation the one.
I'm at the one I'm after which was the second generation of the something that we call it first generation of what the worst of the world, God has received a supercharged version and it was this company's only mid-engine supercharge your car at the time. Wow, Five Doors to slid.
How many seats are, how to say? It's some kind of event.
Well, your honor, I'll give you a point five Adrian.
Your it is of an agent. Can I say it's a dance
incorrect? Damn it, man.
It is a bad. Adrian's, got a rubber band.
Wow, man. This is almost cryptic.
This one, this is prescriptive. This was struggling with
cryptic. Cryptic cosmetic, this damn good
at all. You guys give up.
I give up. Don't give up.
It was a Twitter to Rago / prettier they, they were, they were a flood engine. They were Toyota's only
mid-engined. Supercharged vehicle in their
lineup in the 90s. So yeah.
There you go. Doesn't look.
So the bully one. The bullet.
Yes. The, the one that looks like an
egg, the cool. The cool one.
Yes. Oh, so basically well, you got,
we got a result arago in Ed's shape, but it was difficult.
It was never considered at orongo in, like, like that whole van was it was a whole different thing obviously, is because that was technically the, the first generation Previa first generation of that of that, that big and we just got it.
But we just kept the turaga name Here.
Yeah, the more you know, bonus question.
What was the highest spec off it here in Australia?
David, the GLS GLS will ultimately, would have taken, absolutely. Because you've got to go called
ultimate later in its life. Absolutely.
They have a problem, a score check Adrian. .5, David to
Scotty at the score. Bonus, bonus question in.
What year did the Toyota 2 rogg? / / /?
/ /, whatever the hell it was called estimate and production worldwide. In the production.
So we're not talking about that generation.
We're talking about as an as an employee as an implied, correct.
Okay. Yeah, I'll guess I'll go.
Twenty Seventeen Seventeen is incorrect mr.
Adrian, you had your name in there?
Is it a called the Alphard now? Yeah.
I think they're going to be there but it's a completely different car. It's not it's based on its place
in the highest note. It's not beside its own bespoke
Transit. Yes Gran Via it's called Gambia
that's it. Yeah.
Two thousand. Eight, eight is incorrect.
Scotty 2010, sometimes incorrectly was 29 teams when they finished production lot longer than I thought.
What we're doing, question 3, what was the first foreign car to be made in the United States of America?
Foreign car first foreign car to be made in the u.s.
United States of Freedom. Scott, there's a Toyota Camry
where the camera is incorrect. We dang, I was a Camry to but
then I was like, I better check this one in and I checked it was like Ali, that does make sense. Hmm, it was it was a big thing
too. Foreign car, first foreign car
to be made in the United States of Freedom, United States of machine guns, United States of America.
Sure, David David wasn't the Honda Accord wasn't, it was down to record what Huff in 1982? Oh sorry.
Is it balanced? I was the bonus question.
So I unfortunately can't Give you the bonus question because you really get, everybody has a damn that was, yeah, that was exactly the but especially what he wanted.
What was it? What was it done there, you are
question 5, what does the word? Kia?
Actually mean in the, in the name Point Clear, what does he mean? David, Yeah, question, I've
never really thought about it, but I didn't say me, I thought they said they were sorry. No, no, no.
So it's not an acronym. It's written the and took it
out. It's know they they you know,
Korean characters, if I can't anymore, otherwise I'll just give the answer away. So it's not Korean industry
Automotive or something. Yeah that's what that's what I
was thinking so I was great. The word doesn't mean the word
doesn't mean some people, it does mean something but that's no idea, super fun, happy good car.
You guys will help. Yeah.
Football's you mean something like, and translates through coming out of East Asia and it's in interesting way of doing things. But that's It kind of makes
sense actually coming out of Angel.
So so that's what the key in the Armenian so key to come out or to rise and then a means East or Asia.
So translates to coming from Asia bonus question in what year did high-end? I buy a 51% stake of Kia.
To become the the bear, their parent company.
Yeah, I actually kind of remember this happening as a kid so it was a long time ago. Hmm.
Closest do we kept guesses to suppose that all give closer to close to about 1990 1990 is incorrect, but that's all I'll run it a 19-0. However, it is it Old say, 19.
96 96 says scurry. Pedro say like 2002. 2002.
All right, so the answer is 1998 is the actual answer so closest to was Scotty? Well that's good.
I'll give you a you are a lot older than I was.
I was in grade 1. I remember because my uncle had
bought recently will not evolve you bought a brand-new Hyundai Excel and was telling everybody how good it was and and it makes sense because they will flog in those things left, right?
And Of course, they were able to buy up another company that did not only drug. Why?
No more Panic or to pay question, six.
If I became a part of the Kea, boys, what have I just done?
What have I just done? So what was that?
I'll give you a point five. You've you've got you've got the
case somehow. Well you got sponsored by here,
incorrect, stolen, radios, stolen Akio, that is correct David I had about this. There is a massive thing going
on. Yeah.
Well it's It's a life hack because it's you don't have to do anything to because K isn't in America are quite cheap, right? And how you'll notice for this
matter and you can actually steal them because they don't have Factory immobilizers. Like, even like current ones, I
picked up until like 2019 or 2020.
So basically what you do is you probably shouldn't be saying this on air but yeah, if I can Tick Tock if ever anybody wants, there you go. Also on YouTube, there was this
lady that was, she had a, she had, it was watching this news report, I could have thought I felt bad, I was laughing, but it was, it was so funny. She had a little little yellow
care called murti or something. And and she's like, yeah, they
stole money and all of a sudden they're like it there.
She's like are sort of like, a lot of YouTube, sort of like a tick tock and it was all these stolen case doing tricks with each other and just driving over curbs and she's like there's Marion but he just comes out of nowhere.
It's so basic basically how the stealing of and I think there's a bit of a class action against them.
Now, you break into them with a screwdriver like very easily and then you break off the actual ignition Barrel because it's not connected to the To the steering lock.
You just put a you. It like a, like, a USB
skateboard. Yeah.
It was be caught and just turn it and it starts to go up.
Yeah. So if you are officially a Kia
boy, if you've stolen case because they becoming the most stolen cars, getting around at this point in time.
So I don't think it's much of the much as here.
I think we've got a bit more chocolate, we're always Wawa so we'll be starting soon. So, there you go, David.
If you want to, if you're desperate, and you've got a USB stick on you and you need to get home.
Okay, boys. You just imagine you, just go
walking through the city alone on my shoulder.
We're an educational show David. We're in education, is
absolutely, you've learned a few things that I bet Kia that you've lost the key, boys. And what key actually means
question 7. Let's see if you can get this
one though who made the first Hybrid vehicle.
Whoa. I'll give you guys a hint.
Yeah it is. It is.
What decade was it? Can you give us a hint for jeez?
I can't really give you a decade.
He like it's a very long time ago.
Put it that way. Yeah, yeah.
That's going to say first hybrid vehicle.
I'll have a guest. There you go for it.
Dude, Mets are two spins. The city's Benz is incorrect.
Okay, you're in the right area, though.
If that's right. Says Germany.
It is German. That's correct.
Adrian. Adrian are just going to love
you. I don't know.
He's such a BW favor. It's incorrect.
That's gonna deal with that crap.
I'm going to go with Volkswagen and Porsche, I don't think we can. Yes, yes.
So there you go. If anyone asks you all my praise
in the first hybrid you saying? Yeah, no it wasn't burned
important. They said back in the 1800's to
be very, very late 1800's. But there you go.
Question eight master originally sold.
What before selling cars? David David cork cork?
Is correct? David?
Well done? Yeah, not like Lowe's not like
Globes score. Check agent .5, Scotty 1.5 and
David one, two, three, four, five point five.
So not anybody's game because only two questions ago.
People question nine, if you manage to get your hands on in a you accelerate Rebel, Right. At the end of the Au Falcons
Life, One unique to device that come with when you purchased it.
I remember this one. The aux are a treble.
It was a series 3 x. Alright, they didn't make many
they and it's it came out right at the end, Rob was like, right before they were about to bring the B series in.
And it was a kind of like a last ditch effort to move the last tickford enhanced xr8 Falcons. Rebel Rebel was it something to
do with sporting equipment was a rebel.
What was horrible? Horrible.
Venture. No, that's it.
That's it correct that my mind had a temper with Hilux, all right. Okay.
Hand me the guitar that is pretty cool actually.
Yeah that is that is pretty cool but I'm Keen to know.
Well I'll tell you once if it was Scotty and a drinking figured out, you come with a pack of Winnie Blues.
Did it, it's shred of but it did its Adrian.
Who was the, you wasn't it, they did.
And they did a unique version of it, which was like a Pursuit youth. But it wasn't that it wasn't
that because it was a sedan, it came with the I'll tell you what it came with. Besides the, it was a fool, it
was a full makeover. Had I had upgrades to the
wheels, had the 220 kw engine, which was like like a handmade version of that had a few had a unique body kit had a, how to Unique few other little touches on it.
But it came with something that you got given.
When you bought the car, NS was Burying my dog.
Is it a model? Incorrect.
They gave you a PlayStation 2 console with a copy of Gran Turismo 3, signed by both blend Seaton and Steven Richards.
Wow. And they put that they gave you
that because that car the accelerate a race car was in Gran Turismo 3. There you go.
And there was a signed copy by both Glenn Seaton, and Steven Richards who they are to be car racing.
Under a bonus question. I didn't say they'll many made,
how many were made closest. I'm going to say 8080 is what
squeeze guess is. I'll say 250 250 says David 150.
150 says Adrian, Adrian, get some chocolates.
It is they made 125 of them. So I'll give it to you Adrian.
Well, hey you so much God. I hate you.
So I'm just really disappointed about that.
Did you want to take that point of view?
I want them to give it to Scotty.
Question 10. What Honda use the Del Sol name
on its third generation CRX. Why not?
Why did they use the name Del Sol Adrian.
Adrian is a because they use the same engine.
That was no incorrect. Mad Davidoff tired.
There's probably there probably is actually a reason but because it was a Targa roof and lots of deals, soul is of the Sun or something to do with the sun. Absolutely.
You do that is spot-on. So Del Sol is Spanish for of the
Sun. Over this alluding to the
removable Targa Top. Which that car came with.
Yeah, so there you go. Hence, the reason why they said
Del Sol, there you go. Fun fact was, never called Del
Sol and stray. Leah.
It wasn't called that it was called CRX here on serious.
Yeah, but it's called does whole thing virtually everywhere else.
Right. Pretty much everyone.
Why is there a reason why? It's a good question.
I don't know. They even down to the fact out
our floor. Mats had Honda had just had CRX
on them and not Del Sol, you know.
So it was very specific to move, I think, yeah, I don't know what the I was actually talking to a guy who was a hunter Australia in marketing today when they were new.
But but I think these are the questions I would have asked, these are the questions we need answered.
School chick, Adrian, 1.5 Scotty on 1.5 and tonight's winner on a
grand total of one two three point.
Five is mr. David principal done, thank you
very much, some tough questions in there.
Some some things that you got you guys will never forget the archaea, what does he mean? But this game a remember, yeah.
Yes, yes, yes. It's what you do from the East.
Yes, it will go with that and, and If I'm lucky boy, what about have? I officially done, we steal and
I'm good. I say that you've become a boat
that times. I'll take it.
It's fine. It's all good.
I might, I might fit in a bit more unlikely on.
No, I'm ready. I'm ready to take my
nothing here. Well, I got healthy.
That's a podcast. Anyway, brilliant sounds.
Sounds good. That we got all the way to the
end, and then that's when you get, the more like mention the worst car ever made. So, would you call me back that
the IU? It's the worst car ever made.
It's a cockroach. You speak to any mechanic
notices of comments section because the reason, no, no, it's a cockroach the ugly as Sin. I'll give you that.
However, they are what a trendsetter because Mercedes copy them, and to, they are The most reliable Falcon over my early. So David, Prince plug, please.
A plug for auto retro, the podcast.
We didn't. I talk to people about the cars
that their lives. So with the first season is up
on all the regular podcast platforms and on YouTube and second season in the making, watch this space as we would say on the show. Indeed, Scotty's stitches.
Man, you stitches. My going to be better going to
go to take a backseat, the most gone man.
You might have to get a new winner.
He going to get it. Well, see, as soon as it went, I
was sitting in my hospital bed and I said I was contemplating life and that's going to bring a few things.
But obviously cars are very important to me and cars went wrong and all those things and I was and I was like, you know what, I want to, I want to 300 T, you know, like a 1240 e like a wagon Diggy seats. You know, legit, there's a
beautiful one up there for like, twenty eight thousand dollars and I was like, oh that's all I do.
But it's like, it's had Underneath It All.
It's called dry ice and everything.
It's like a brand new car and I'm like that, like me?
And that's the sad part. I'm a sick.
Individual Adrian. I'm So Perfect.
Like you, you want the Mercedes wagon?
I want to be a wa egg. There you go.
I've been looking wagon, boys. Oh boys, - I did say really
nicely 39. Wagon blue.
Yeah, you could do that.
As we were saying the show Barrett.
But anyway, that's another thing.
So Scotty, anything to plug, besides your stitching company going bankrupt, has nothing to plug.
I don't do anything for people so is this or anything like that? Come up with something, I think
Scotty's. Scotty's, your segments called.
Cryptic cars with Scotty What are we, what are we High?
You out to all different like psychics and stuff?
Like and you can find and you can like be out like events like that. You might go to like a like a
corporate event and to be sitting in a corner with a table. So I can I can be cryptic and I
can tell you what car you need and I think I think we found a job for you. Scotty teaching is no longer
your profession. Why does that remind me of the
the Super One video? Where is it of the dealership
with? Just the people walk in Toyota
Camry works. But you're a snob.
