00:20
Hey everyone, I'm Tom. Welcome to the EV show by Ludacris Feed Live. Nice of you to join
00:40
us this Wednesday 3rd of December 2025. We are getting to the pointy end of the year.
00:45
I hope you're all wrapping up the year or getting busy or whatever it is you're doing. I hope you're
00:50
all well. It's been a nice day here in Sydney. Hopefully it's been well as well wherever you're
00:54
watching from tonight. We'll listen to it on audio podcast. Thanks for joining us to kick
00:59
things off. Let's say hello to one of our regular guests. In fact, our co-host for the
01:03
evening. Let's say hello to Rears himself. Hey Rears, how are you doing?
01:07
Hey Tom, good to be back. I caught up with your live stream last week with Roland
01:17
and Joy, of course, but it was good fun to see the recap of the trip and all the other
01:23
discussions. But yeah, back here. I think we've got a few things to talk about and hopefully
01:28
have a few laughs along the way as well. Yes, indeed. Yes, welcome back Rears. I forgot to
01:32
say yes. Nice to have you back again, of course. We'll talk about your trip very shortly,
01:36
but yes, Roland does sent his apologies. I couldn't make it tonight, so I hope you're well,
01:40
Roland, just spending time with family, of course. Let's say hello to some of our regulars before
01:45
we kick off the evening. So hello to H2 Ryder. Hello there and hello to Richard. Nice to see
01:52
you. Hello there and hello, John. Hello, Andrew. Hello, Xander. Nice of you guys to
02:00
join us and girls on a very barmy evening here in Sydney. Hello from Brisbane. No storms this week.
02:07
Why is being towed tomorrow for windscreen? Yeah, so be bye-bye. Okay, that's great.
02:13
Hello, Senecro. Hello, hello. And hello, Evias as well. Hello, Jean. And hello, Tony Dowell.
02:20
Thanks for joining us, guys. And if you're watching on replay, make sure you drop a
02:24
comment as well. And if you are listening to us on audio podcast, thanks for joining us.
02:29
Let's say hello to, well, let's say thank you to our sponsors, I should say. Thank you to
02:32
Hun Cook Driving Emotion for your EV tires with that very long warranty, of course.
02:37
Thank you to PowerShop for your EV day and EV night plans. If you don't like wholesale prices,
02:42
then you've got very good plans from PowerShop to enable your EV to be charged for pretty
02:47
good prices. And of course, thank you to Caleb as well. Thank you, Riz,
02:50
data to empower Australia. This EV revolution, that's who you go to for
02:53
good, solid data. That's why, how you get things done with data.
02:57
So Riz, you're back. When did you get back? I got back on Sunday morning.
03:04
It was a bit of a queue at the Bonser lounge. So I had to just, you know,
03:08
let people know that, look, I was coming through, they rolled out the purple carpet,
03:13
which is official Bonser colors. And yeah, they finally got back and
03:18
was in China for about 10, 11 days in Guangzhou first, where obviously Tom,
03:27
you were as well, you enjoy. And then a couple of days in Shenzhen at the end,
03:34
looking at some cool bit of sort of EV tech that's coming around and also autonomous vehicles.
03:41
Shenzhen is the place to go if you want to see, you know, you'll be having a cup of coffee
03:45
outside in the street and all of a sudden a random autonomous vehicle will drive past you
03:49
and you're like, what was that? And then you see another one and then another one.
03:54
They're all little delivery vehicles that are just mining their own business. I don't know where
03:59
they're coming from or where they're going. Sort of drone delivery sitting in a shopping center.
04:04
Wow. That's Cocoa Park for some of you that have been to Shenzhen, just sitting there having
04:10
a cup of tea and then all you see is this little drone come up, pick up something and
04:14
take it away somewhere. Don't know where it's coming from or where it's going. But good time in
04:19
China. And surprisingly, it was warmer there than it was here in Melbourne. And today is sort
04:25
of the first warm evening since I've come back. So a few things to share. But yeah,
04:30
those are you that have checked out. Tom and Joy's walk around the Guangzhou show.
04:35
You get a gist of what's going on. Apparently that show got 855,000 visitors over 10 days.
04:42
That's huge news. That's only slightly more than the Melbourne and Sydney shows we've had this year.
04:50
Those numbers are magic. They're just like, I just can't even fathom how big those numbers are.
04:55
And you know, you would, there is like the 10 or whatever, 12 halls. Yeah.
04:59
Like you can see why it would take that many numbers, right?
05:02
It's still big. Like it was a bit later, a bit differently to the Shanghai show,
05:08
but it was still just massive, the scale of everything. BYD had a whole hall, like as you do.
05:14
And then if they weren't done at the back of the hall, if you walked out through the sun,
05:19
they had a big pond where they could have the Yang Meng go for a swim. And people were queuing
05:25
up to go in. They had the, I think people would have seen in your video as well, the
05:30
U9 Extreme, the world's fastest car, I think achieving 496 kilometers an hour.
05:39
You know, that's what they were showcasing. And they were also showcasing their flash
05:43
charging, the megawatt charging, which I thought was cool that companies are starting to
05:48
showcase that as well. So anyone that's interested, check out Tom's video.
05:53
Yeah. For me, the flotation tank was quite the highlight. I thought like it was,
05:57
it was big, it was bold as BYD, but you know what, it drew a crowd, as you said.
06:02
It's amazing that it gave rides to people. I don't think they gave rides to the press,
06:05
maybe they did, but I was just watching it in awe. Just watching the four guys in there just
06:08
vlogging and just floating around in this massive tank that was 1.6 meters in height.
06:14
Yeah, it was crazy, right? They do things differently in China. And yes, it is a
06:19
glimpse of a potential future. As you said with the drone deliveries,
06:22
I was impressed already with the robots bringing food up the elevators and the hotel was
06:25
staying up in front. Drone at his next level. That's 3D.
06:31
Look, things seem to be moving pretty quickly. And you know, with some of those brands wanting
06:37
to come to the Australian market as well, it's quite nice to sort of get to see them
06:43
a bit up at the front in terms of the type of products they have and what they're planning
06:47
on bringing in. And it was a little bit of a comeback of the legacy automakers as well.
06:51
We saw a few models from Toyota. I think they're made by GAC, which is just recently launched in
06:57
Australia. And Honda had a model there as well. I'm not sure who makes that one.
07:04
Also, it was a bit of interesting to see the likes of X-Peng and Neo, the Chinese startups
07:10
that are trying to become more of a scale-ups as they expand into global markets.
07:16
Yeah, I love that they're taking these shows overseas because you get to see what
07:20
the state of play is, right? I mean, in Australia, we get a nice little taste of it.
07:23
But to go to the mothership, so to speak, you get to see all the brands they're laid out and
07:29
the relative scale of each one and what they're doing. And they're all trying to outdo each
07:33
other, as you know, Riz, but they're all quite impressive in their own right. So,
07:36
yeah, it was a good, good experience. And as Richard said, Shanghai was 1.3 million
07:40
visitors, Guangzhou. This is like, it's obviously a smaller show, but still 800,000
07:46
people. That's just crazy, right? It's like filling the MCG every day for 10 days,
07:54
not even the cricket gets crowds like that 100%. I don't think even the Formula One will get
07:58
crowds like that. It's unbelievable. It's good stuff. And yeah, speaking of numbers,
08:04
yes, look, November, looking strong. Great to see something on the G6 reports over 2,000
08:10
sold year to date. Can you verify that for us, Riz? That would be interesting. Brett,
08:14
if you know the source, I'm going to have a quick look while we are loading up
08:21
sort of November data. But yeah, I think all in all, the market's recovering. Well,
08:29
not recovering. It's gotten up compared to where it was in October, which is good to see.
08:37
That's right. Yeah, as Riz looks that up for us, I'll just quickly introduce this
08:45
next, well, our first article for the night, EV sales bounce back as Riz says for November 2025,
08:50
Zika 7X leaping in the top three Riz writes, which is good. That's on the back of obviously
08:56
3,000 pre-orders. So some of these cars are starting to roll out into our new car
09:02
market, which is good. So 9.1% Riz for the month of November 2025, which is 9,000 odd cars.
09:09
It's a nice convenient figure, isn't it? 9% 9,000 cars. So obviously 100,000 new cars every
09:14
year for Australia, sorry, every month for Australia, which is very convenient. Like I
09:19
said, up from 7.3% in October. So that's good. So yeah, we're starting to see some rise.
09:25
I had a quick look. We haven't got the X-Pen figures yet. But last time I checked,
09:30
we were looking at sort of 2000 shipped into the country overall. There might be a few more now. I'd
09:39
expect probably 22, 2300. But yeah, waiting to get those official figures as well for then that
09:45
would make it sort of around 2000 for the year. So far, obviously, there's a bit of a runout on
09:51
and there were a whole lot of incentives, you know, we've seen BYD do stuff with the
09:57
cashback offers there recently last week up the offer on the C-Line 7 premium from $3,000 cashback
10:05
to $4,000 if you place an order by December 14th and take delivery by the end of the month.
10:13
We're seeing a whole lot more stuff starting to come through as well.
10:19
And yeah, all in all, I think it's a healthy market. First 11 months last year, we were
10:25
around $83,000. This year, we're sort of heading towards $93,000 excluding those X-Pen and smart
10:35
sales. So more like, you know, $95,000, a bit more than that.
10:41
So I think we're going to finish the year pretty close to 10% on average if you take the total
10:48
sales. That's good. Which is very good. Yeah, I know there's a few other specials. I think
10:53
D-POW is also having a special as well. I think deals from Polestar, I think I saw it. I get these
10:59
emails as you do, I'm sure Riz, flooding into your inbox. Yeah, we know Tesla's got something too,
11:05
I think potentially. They've got the FSD transfer thing going on. I think they had one more offer
11:11
of some sort. Geely, of course, has I think they had a $2,000 cashback offer on. So plenty
11:19
of offers. And I think it's just starting to, you know, it's just things are starting to pick up a
11:27
little bit. Yeah, look, Tristan's saying just got to discount a new Model Y real drive off the inventory
11:32
fantastic. And Necro is saying, I know there wasn't any official announcement from Zika, that's
11:37
right, regarding 7GT. There's some viewers who have told me that some dealers have been
11:42
happy to take deposits for the 7GT. I'm sure they have been. But yeah, look, I think
11:46
reading between the lines, it's safe to say they're probably looking at least scoping the market,
11:51
which will be very exciting for wagon fans for 2026, which is good. Thank you, Jason. Ten ludicrous
11:58
feed memberships. Much appreciated. That's great. Thank you so much. Hey, up in Guangzhou,
12:03
just going from stand to stand. It was quite interesting. There's a few wagon models. Of
12:07
course, we know the Neo ET5 Touring. They call it the wagon that they've got. I mean,
12:12
that's very sleek car. The Zika 007 GT or 7GT, I think that's also very, very clean. I saw a
12:21
couple at the Zika showroom there. They actually look quite good in white, surprisingly. And
12:27
you know, obviously we've seen the, I think it was like a purpley sort of a car that they bought
12:33
out for the shows in Australia. So yeah, hopefully, wagons make a little bit of a comeback.
12:39
Interesting to see here, top 12, I think models we've got listed there. Yep,
12:47
that's right. Tesla Model Y, again, topping the charts. And it's quite evident walking around
12:52
or driving around Sydney. That's, yeah, they're certainly very prevalent at the moment, which
12:56
is good. Tesla Model Y, very popular car and for rightly so. BYDC Line 7 is still up there in
13:03
the mix. Thousand-odd sales still going strong, still very good value. And as we said earlier,
13:08
Zika 7X, 600 sales. So that's a fifth, I guess, of the 3000 odd pre-orders they've had so far.
13:15
Yeah, that's looking pretty good in terms of the total number of sales.
13:20
And of course, I think the other thing that's starting to happen now, Tom, is that
13:26
the reviews are starting to come out. And now people are also sort of comparing things
13:32
and having a look on the internet and seeing them in person and sort of getting a bit bowed
13:37
by the car in person and really starting to take that up as well. I think that made up around
13:44
15% of the total mid-size premium SUV market. So, you know, all in all, I think,
13:54
good first complete month of deliveries. Because I think in October, they sort of started
13:59
mid-way through the month. If that's anything to go by, you know, next couple of months,
14:07
we're going to see relatively good numbers coming through. And like I said, the reviews
14:14
and content creators like yourself enjoy this time to get out there now and
14:19
more people will get to learn a little bit more about the car, but more importantly,
14:23
about the brand and, you know, walk into showrooms and test drive with themselves
14:28
and see what they think. Yeah, we were lucky enough to get the Long Range Rural Drive last
14:33
week from Zika. It was a very nice surprise. Got a phone call from Zika themselves and said,
14:37
hey, do you want to take this car? I'm not going to say no to a Zika 7X. So, yeah, we tested that.
14:42
Look, I think, honestly, that'd be my pick, that the 7X Long Range Rural Drive is just a nice
14:46
compromise between performance and range. And we, as you might have seen our content, we
14:51
drove it out to the Amphol Chargers. The 400 kilowatt ones were broken, unfortunately,
14:56
but we did test it on the 360 kilowatts out of the Eastern Creek Westbound Amphol Foodery. And
15:02
we got 24 to 80 percent in 12 minutes. That's like mind blowing. I was very shocked at how
15:09
fast that was. So that's just enough time for a number one and a cup of coffee, I reckon.
15:13
Borderline number two, that's what we have these times for now. But yeah, very, very
15:18
impressive car. And we have the Tesla Model Y performance at the moment on loan. So we will
15:23
release that content shortly, just comparing that with the Zika 7X. I think that's a very
15:27
interesting argument between the two cars. So stay tuned for that on the channel.
15:31
So really interesting to see Model 3 also up there in the mix, 433 sales still?
15:36
Yeah, starting to get up there. Of course, November was a relatively big month for Tesla. Not
15:42
so much like, I mean, the sales are doing, they're pretty reasonable, but it was a big
15:46
month with the showcase that they did at everything electric. So the showcase,
15:50
the Model Y performance or unveil that. But more importantly, they have what I believe is a
15:56
world first where they had 600 plus FSD test drives that they conducted. And I think blew a
16:02
lot of minds away in terms of just how developed that tech is overall. I can also see our other
16:13
EV owner friends as well that are, you know, driving X-pangs, Zika's and other BYD models that
16:21
are starting to say, well, very similar tech for our vehicles. So, you know, as you and Joy have
16:28
tested the XNGP, the tech is being developed and it's working in some markets. How quickly it
16:34
can get to international markets, I would probably say that at the earliest, it will be 2027.
16:44
And that's sort of being realistic about the situation because we have to think about this,
16:49
that Tesla has been testing things under cover in Australia for three, four years, Tom. I think
16:55
we remember a couple of our viewers have been those test drivers for Tesla in the past. So,
17:03
you know, now all of that work and data being collected and sort of different scenarios is coming
17:08
together in the software that's being delivered. So, interesting to see how what the flow on effect
17:15
is from that everything electric drives that they did. But yeah, at this point in time,
17:23
that is a big point of difference that Tesla has as a brand that very hard for pretty much
17:28
anyone else on that list to sort of have a similar offering.
17:34
Yeah, correct. I think everything electric FSD drives were phenomenal. And congratulations to
17:39
Kevin from Tesla and his team for doing that, for being so bold to allow half an hour test drives
17:44
in Melbourne. I thought that was a phenomenal effort. And you're right, it's been trained
17:47
in on Australian roads for at least two, I think three years from memory.
17:53
At the recent XPlane trip that Joy and I went on, we did ask the question
17:56
at one of the public forums. I said, look, Tesla's been training this on our roads for three years now.
18:02
You know, I think XNGP is probably the closest of all the brands that can come to Australia.
18:07
And we don't, as far as we know, don't have any cars that can drive XNGP on Australian roads.
18:12
There's only one orange chip in the G6s that we have. So, yeah, it's going to be hard,
18:18
I think. And as you said, Tesla is ahead in that regard, but having driven XNGP in China,
18:23
and I can't release that content yet. It is still under embargo, but Joy and I have actually driven
18:29
XNGP in Guangzhou behind the wheel. So, stay tuned. It's coming when the embargo lifts. But
18:35
it was phenomenal for their scenario, for like Chinese roads. It's still very good. So,
18:41
I don't think they're behind. I think they're just not rolling it out international markets
18:46
just yet. So, it's going to be a very interesting decade or end of the decade where
18:49
all this happens, as we all get rid of this tech.
18:52
Definitely. Look, when I got a chance to have a test drive of it back in July when I popped into
18:58
their old HQ in Guangzhou, and I was just using the Mona, the top spec Mona that, oh, actually,
19:04
that's an important point. In Guangzhou and Shenzhen, the amount of X-Peng monos I saw,
19:11
it's amazing. It was like they were everywhere.
19:16
Yep. Agreed. People hadn't modified them. People put spoilers on them. It's like an affordable sort
19:21
of, it was very cool. So, yeah, the top spec Mona, which is obviously made by X-Peng,
19:27
has also got the XNGP capabilities. The G7, obviously the new G6, the P7, all of the
19:35
newer ones with those Turing chips. X9 have got the capability and they do perform
19:41
relatively well in my experience. Of course, looking forward to how they progressed,
19:45
given Tom and Joy have sort of tested it pretty recently.
19:50
One, I guess, it's very hard to tell. The last official confirmation was from the CEO of X-Peng
19:57
in Munich. Munich? Yeah, the IAA show recently in Europe where they said that 2026 is when
20:04
they're looking at Q4 into the European market and then who knows what happens after that for
20:11
the rest of the world. So, if you're interested in what this technology is like,
20:18
I think you can go and test, do test drives at certain Tesla showrooms,
20:25
FSD supervised test drives. If not available already, there will be shortly. So, yeah,
20:32
just worth, if nothing else, just to see what it's actually like.
20:35
Yeah, 100%. It's quite mind blowing. It's still level 2, 8S, but it's really high level 2.
20:41
It's phenomenal, actually. How far it's come? Let's take some comments. We will go through
20:46
the rest of this, by the way. I know we're off on a tangent, but it was worth exploring.
20:52
What have we got here? So, Darryl's saying, yeah, very similar to 7X Performance,
20:56
38, 35 to 80% in 10 minutes. Phenomenal. That's great, Darryl. Unbelievable, isn't it?
21:01
How fast that is? That's borderline number 2, like I said.
21:04
Steve, yeah, did a FSD test at EE? Yep, 100%. Great to see them front and centre there in
21:11
Melbourne at the show grounds there. Yeah, EVAZ subscribed FSD this month. Good.
21:16
Yep, I agree with you. It is very good. Some small issues, of course. Not perfect,
21:19
but it'll be good to see how it progresses. Same with XNGP. Look, it's good. Not perfect,
21:24
but still very high level 2, 8S. I'm with you, Tony. I think Tesla's still the one to
21:29
catch in Australia, I think. They're ahead of the game here in terms of autonomy, so yeah,
21:35
it's just they've set the benchmark as usual for the rest of them to catch.
21:41
And yes, yeah, Huawei, I think it's universally known as the best ADAS or
21:46
self-driving system in China. So it's quite a common, you know, common trend.
21:53
People say that is the best. I haven't tried it yet myself. I think Riz, you have?
21:56
Yeah, I did in Wushi, it was a city of, you know, I think about 8 million people outside of Shanghai.
22:02
This was back in April. And that system particularly relies heavily on the vision,
22:11
the cameras, of course, which Huawei has a very good software hardware stack,
22:15
but also LiDARs. So there's quite a lot of expensive LiDARs on that system as well.
22:21
And it does very well. It does very well. I mean, most proper autonomous vehicles, when we say proper,
22:27
like proper robot axes that have been operating level four spec in most parts of the world,
22:32
you know, think of AMO and, you know, Tesla robot axes will get there as well,
22:37
but other Baidu and others in China, they all use a lot of LiDARs. It's very expensive.
22:43
I don't know if that's the right approach or not, but Huawei does use quite a lot of
22:47
LiDARs in their premium to high end equipped vehicles. And it works very, very well. It's very
22:55
precise in most conditions. And having said that, you know, it would be really interesting to see
23:02
comparisons out of China between the multiple different types of systems.
23:06
At the moment, we're not comparing apples with apples because the Tesla stuff isn't fully
23:11
available there. Some people are saying Q1 next year. Europe as well. I think Europe was interesting
23:18
this week. They still have a lot of a few regulatory hurdles because the European Union hasn't approved
23:24
it. But at the same time, they are starting somehow they found a loophole where they're giving
23:29
you test rides. So if you want to test ride in a couple of countries, I think France,
23:34
Germany and one more Spain, was it? Yeah, Spain, I think you can get them there.
23:39
But yeah, it will be 2026, especially the first half will be quite a bit of a race,
23:46
Vamo versus Tesla versus, I guess, some of the, you know, X-Pen to a certain degree.
23:54
The difficulty with Huawei, of course, is that, you know, we've seen the complications with
24:00
that in the past with Huawei tech being, you know, not available in certain markets.
24:07
So that would be an interesting one to see. But I think all in all the more autonomy that we can
24:13
get the better it is. There was an article earlier this week, or maybe it was out of a Tesla report
24:20
that they've looked at all the FSD supervised data and they believe that for minor and major
24:27
accidents on FSD supervised, they're seven times less likely.
24:34
Okay. So not sure how you compare or benchmark that, but if you go with what they're saying,
24:43
then it is, you know, as the fleet grows, it's going to, and as more vehicles, not only Tesla,
24:50
but others are autonomous as well, it's technically going to make our roads safer.
24:54
Yeah, look, I felt that certainly driving X-MGP in China, obviously not being a local driver.
24:59
I didn't know the roads at all, not to mention that's left hand drive. So, you know,
25:03
driving it, it's just freaky as a normal manual driver. But then you put on X-MGP,
25:08
and suddenly you realize the value of autonomy of level, very high level 2A dash where the car
25:14
is driving much better than you can, much calmer, much safer. And then you take over if there's
25:18
an issue, which I did a couple of times. But yeah, and I met someone who might be watching
25:23
now actually, I met someone at everything electric who had a disability. And they just
25:27
meant, you know, talked to me for a little while just on the floor, say how much, how effective
25:33
FSD would be for their life, because it would prolong the amount of time they can drive a car,
25:38
or at least be independent in a car with FSD, because they can go to the shops,
25:42
they can do whatever they want, and still have that independence, right? That's,
25:47
I think that's where FSD could be very useful. Giving those with accessibility issues
25:52
more freedom to get around town. So I think I could see a huge market for that use.
25:58
Yeah, let's, let's push on with the rest of this list. I know we've gone on a huge tangent, but
26:02
you know, it's good that we talked about this. I think it's really important.
26:05
GLEX 5, great 412 sales, still a great car. ADO 2, making those for the first time, of course.
26:10
It's good to see them being delivered. ADO 1, I have not driven yet in Australia.
26:14
In fact, I haven't driven ADO 2 either, joy has. But hopefully there'll be a
26:18
media day for ADO 1s as well in early 2026. EV 5, that's good to see them still up there.
26:25
ADO 3 still doing the good thing there is in the top 10. And look, this is one I'm happy with.
26:31
MG S5, 222 sales, what a great little car. Still very happy with ours. And of course,
26:36
Spewide Seal, Soft Touch, you know, got to soft place my heart for the, for the seal.
26:42
And MG4 and Dolphins, rounding up the top 12 there. So there you go.
26:48
There's still some love for hatchbacks. That's, that's a good thing. I think we would
26:52
like to see more. But yeah, I think it's, it's a good mix. Obviously we're missing
26:59
wagons from that list. We're missing micro hatchbacks, which I guess the ADO 1 will
27:06
play a bit of a role. This week, speaking of sort of looking at Geely, which is,
27:10
you know, still holding, holding on up there in sort of the, what is it, top five?
27:15
Yep. Geely for life. Geely for life. That's right.
27:20
EX2, the smaller, I think you've driven Tom, the, what's it called, Xinyuan?
27:25
Xinyuan, yep. Xinyuan, China's best selling car this year, almost 400,000 units out doing the
27:35
BYD Seagull, which is the ADO 1, and the Model Y, which stands at number three, I think in
27:41
China. But the EX2, that's what it will be called in the Thailand market. It's about to be released,
27:49
I think with a price of equivalent to under 20,000 Australian dollars.
27:54
No way. That's, that's phenomenal. I hope that's a, that carries across to Australia,
28:00
because that will blow the other one out of the water. Seriously. Wow. What a great little car.
28:05
So we're talking like nearly a dolphin sized car.
28:08
Yes, a real drive. Oh, okay. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, it's a phenomenal car. Hopefully it does come.
28:15
Yeah. Yeah. I mean, we got to drive it in April this year on our, on our trip there. So hopefully
28:20
they were just testing the market there with those cars. So fingers crossed. Yeah,
28:25
how is the MG4 still making the top 10? I mean, it's still a great car.
28:30
Oh, top 11. That's still a good car. I did see the front wheel drive version in
28:34
Guangzhou at the show. It's a little bit rounder, a little bit more bubbly, cuter.
28:39
And yeah, Tony, I agree. The Neo Firefly will be good to add to that mix as well.
28:42
So that, I guess the latest on Neo Firefly,
28:46
saw a few of them at the show in Guangzhou and around Guangzhou and Chenjian. But
28:51
the latest appears to be that it's going to Singapore in right hand drive. And
28:57
there's some talk, someone not sure who has spoken to car expert about
29:05
they're in the final stages of selecting a distributor for our local market.
29:09
That was reported by a Fonzo who usually covers Neo news.
29:15
Can't remember his exact website, but yeah, he's on X. So
29:19
sounds like that's happening. And then I think William Lee, which is their CEO,
29:24
has said something, or one of their senior leaders has said something about
29:28
Envo heading to right hand drive markets as well, which I think would be
29:34
good competition in that medium to large electric SUV segment with their L60 and more
29:40
recently the L90. Yeah, I've seen them a couple of times now in those shows in China. Yeah,
29:45
they're phenomenal. Good value cars. And of course, the Xiaomi Su7, U7,
29:51
if it ever does come to Australia, again, good value, nice looking car to add to the mix.
29:56
So 2026, 2027 could be very interesting. Next couple of years, I think for these cars.
30:01
All right, let's push on guys. Thanks for joining us. We'll just quickly stop and
30:06
just whoops, not that one. This one just say thank you to our sponsors. Thank you to
30:10
Handcook driving emotion EV ion tires. And thank you also to Power Shop for your EV day
30:17
and EV night plans. If you don't like wholesale pricing, then if you want some good plans to
30:21
charge your car, that is Power Shop. Check out the links in the video description.
30:25
And also to the car loop as well. Thank you to Riz and his team, Dada Dung Power Australia's EV
30:30
Revolution. Thank you to our sponsors. Okay, let's push on. So yes, Daz, I can see in the
30:38
chat there. Nope, got to get this right one day. Okay. Daz in the chat saying,
30:43
yes, Zika long range wins money magazine's best value luxury electric car category.
30:50
Yes, I like how they put that next to the Porsche Mechan 4. I think I'll definitely take a Zika 7x
30:55
long range over that. And yeah, I am six. Of course, that's the other sort of car in that
31:01
in that range and the price range too. So good to see Zika up there winning awards.
31:06
Quick question. How do they work on the resale value? Oh, where's that?
31:11
In the table? Oh, yes. 70%. Yeah, okay. Yeah, I don't know. AI, Riz. It's got to be AI.
31:20
I mean, look, it's good for Zika in that case. The 7x, which, you know, maybe they're going
31:24
off the looks, which it's pretty cool. But yeah, still a good win.
31:31
Good for Zika. There it is there. Gee, was the Daz at a dinner or something? Like a fancy dinner
31:37
with all the silverware? Next Daz. And also this one too. So this is MGS5 winning, hang on,
31:47
that same same dinner. Best value electric car, Goldwinner MGS5 Excite 49. That is
31:54
not quite the exact car I have. We have the, what's it called? The next one, Essence 49. So
31:59
the Rollinspec Essence 49. So 42, we paid 40 and 490 for this car. And yes, I have to
32:06
agree it is a very good car indeed. Rural drive, 410Ks of range. I'd say that's probably a bit
32:13
inflated. I'd say it probably closer to 350. Still pretty good. Up against the Geely EX5,
32:19
Skoda Enyaq. Yeah, I think the Geely EX5, yeah, should have won, you know,
32:23
either one could have won honestly. Geely EX5 or MGS5, both very good cars. So
32:29
thanks Daz for sharing that. I agree Andrew, 70% without a timeline is meaningless.
32:34
Yeah, I don't know where they pulled that figure out from. Yeah, good pick upers.
32:39
Yeah, thank you Tony. Recommending Hancock. Pirelli's are definitely wearing out,
32:44
lucky to get 40,000Ks compared to the 75,000K warranty from Hancock. Yeah, test out that
32:48
warranty for sure, for sure. Okay, pushing on. So someone asked about charging news. So
32:55
this is just really quickly EVX, which is that, you know, the curbside charging people
33:01
all across New South Wales and Sydney now on the ChargeFox network, which is really good to see.
33:06
I've certainly seen them in the lower North Shore of Sydney, which is great, more sort of high
33:11
density living around this part of the world. And there's the press release there. So in
33:17
addition to ChargeFox adding HGL curbside charging, now EVX is also on the network as well in
33:22
New South Wales, which is good. Doing good things Riz in that curbside space, EVX?
33:29
Yeah, there've been quite a lot of the shows that we've been to. I think they were also at
33:33
everything electric recently. So, you know, good on them if they can roll this sort of hardware
33:39
out to more places. And let's hope that, you know, the grid operators or the distribution
33:44
networks will make it very hard for them because they've been doing it for a long time and they're
33:49
pretty good at it. So I think more of these we can see in our inner city and areas where
33:54
people would spend, you know, don't have access to off-street parking. I think this is a good way to
33:59
go. Yeah, it's a good point as well. This agreement is another step to ending app fatigue,
34:05
where drivers must manage multiple apps and accounts for different public charging networks.
34:09
So, yeah, that's good. Yeah, there you go. That's EVX on ChargeFox. Just a bit more
34:20
charging news. So, Richard is saying, we have a new farthest North Tesla charging site in Australia
34:26
in Tully, Queensland. Must have been, I'm not sure where Tully is, but it sounds quite North
34:31
between Townsville and Cairns. That's good. Great value for Tesla owners as well. So,
34:36
that's good. Yeah, six Supercharters, 250 kilowatts, 41 cents. Wow, that's pretty cheap.
34:42
Very cheap. Yeah, encouraging tourism up there. How dare they? No, that's good.
34:48
Pricing for Non-Teslas 58. Still, that's still pretty good for Non-Teslas.
34:51
Still pretty cheap. Yeah, still pretty good. Yeah, that's good. Well, if anybody has got a photo of
34:57
you charging up in Tully, send us a photo. We'll show that on the show next time.
35:03
Tully, a little down from Cairns, where the big gum boot is. Thank you very much.
35:08
And Tony is saying, the wettest place in Australia. There you go. Stuff I did not
35:11
know prior to tonight. Richard's saying your EVX also own their own charges and
35:18
manufacture them as well. That's good. Highly integrated. Great to see.
35:23
Thank you. And where you turn to Mission Beach and Dunk Island. Look at that. Fun facts.
35:28
I did not know all this prior to tonight. Sugar cane country and the facts keep coming.
35:32
Yes, I know. I know North Queensland is sugar cane territory for sure.
35:35
Python country. I mean, I don't know. Crocodiles. Yeah, Crocodiles. Yeah, lots of good stuff up there.
35:45
Yeah, did you hear this news this week about Tesla FSD?
35:49
30-day free trial for all V14? I'm sorry, how do we have four owners in the US? That's pretty
35:55
good. Yeah, it's actually, I think it's North America they're saying, which means, I hope,
36:02
it means probably Canada and Mexico and a couple of other markets, but approximately one and a half
36:09
million owners. That's a lot. And that's just hard way for apparently. Yeah, very smart. Why
36:15
not, right? If you're that confident in the product, just let everyone have a go. Why not?
36:19
But the timing, right? Like if you, if let's say they announced it on the 27th or whenever
36:24
it actually starts, that will go through most of the pre-Christmas break, Christmas holidays
36:31
that people are traveling, obviously not much further than depends on when you activated, but
36:36
that's great news. It's like what they did, Tom, if you remember a couple of years ago for
36:41
basic autopilot users, I think they gave away enhanced autopilot for a month or also
36:47
just to try it out over the sort of Christmas break. So great way to do it. Maybe this will
36:54
be for us next year when we have version 14, assuming it gets here.
37:00
Yeah. Yeah, that's a great move. So yeah, like you said, really good to get that trial here as well
37:06
for everyone else to have a go. And of course, we're still waiting for hardware through owners to
37:10
get the FSD too. So waiting on that news, we'll certainly talk about that if that were to
37:14
happen. Now I'm seeing some chatter about few chargers getting their cables stolen. That's
37:20
not so good. Not good at all. Vandals, what can you do, hey? What can you do? I mean cameras,
37:29
security, not sure. It's happened before, right? It's happened before. Vandalism
37:34
does occur at pretty much anything and everything. You only have to go around
37:40
most of our highways and freeways and somehow people managed to get on top of
37:43
those signs, the highway signs, and tag them and all the rest of that sort of stuff. But yeah,
37:49
hopefully a bit more security. And I guess those people, I hope they're proud of what
37:57
they're doing because it's not something you would do. I hope your parents are proud too.
38:03
Amcharge, Karangal had all eight cut over the weekend. That's just terrible. I mean,
38:07
this is why we're kind of nice things, unfortunately. Yeah. I mean, really,
38:12
I've been to China many times. This is why we're kind of nice things. They've got nice things there
38:16
because I know you might argue that yes, they're being watched or whatnot, but
38:21
there's got to be a happy medium somewhere, right? I don't know. It's hard. Yeah, stealing for the
38:27
copper. Yep, for the copper probably. I don't know what it is. Quick hit, whatever you want.
38:33
Yeah, it makes me sad actually. It makes me sad this kind of thing is happening because
38:36
this is a public property, right? This is for people to use. Yeah, makes me upset.
38:44
What can you do? We the superchargers don't have cameras? Yeah, they don't actually.
38:48
I don't think they do. Do they? They've got lighting, but whether they're being watched,
38:53
I'm not sure. What's the answer? Putting cameras, putting shelter, playing loud music?
39:00
Not sure. Not sure. Suggestion? We're just saying it might be two to three dollars worth of copper
39:06
in each cable. Well, not for a cheeseburger, I guess. Yeah, I think it's the copper, not anti-EV,
39:13
I'd say. On brighter news, though, look at this. Roland can't join us tonight. He did
39:22
just send out a post about the Denza. Now, I also thought Denza was just bringing their
39:27
PHEVs, but it looks like they're also bringing an EV as well, the D9.
39:33
Yeah, the electric people move a quite nice vehicle. I think they already sell it in Hong Kong and
39:39
possibly Thailand as well. So yeah, all electric. It'd be good to see we're on.
39:48
This usually, I mean, when it gets approved, it's about six months, three to six months
39:53
before these vehicles are ready to sort of hit the showrooms. There's a couple of Denza showrooms
39:59
actually about to open. I think one in Melbourne and possibly one in Sydney on this side of Christmas.
40:06
So the brand launch is 8th or 9th of December. So maybe there'll be some news on this
40:14
on this car along with the B5 and the B8 plug-in hybrid
40:18
off-roading looking vehicles. Do you feel like the people-mover segment is about to take off in
40:27
this country? We've got the carnival. There's not that many Honda Odyssey, not many big people
40:33
movers. Do you feel like the trend will follow Asia where we start to get multi-generational
40:39
family living? People need bigger cars. You'll see the X9 from X-Pang. Denza, you'll see what
40:46
else? Zika Zika 9. That's it. So is this the trend? Well, the 009, surprisingly, sold 15 of them last
40:53
month. So people are buying them. Anything over 10 is a good month. That's a lot of car. If you
41:03
think about it, that's a huge amount of money. It's a lot of car as well, but it's a huge
41:10
amount of money. If you think about the fact that Zika is still a new brand, the quality of
41:16
product is extremely high. So clearly they're doing a lot of things right to convince people.
41:21
So yeah, maybe there is a market of opening up. Obviously, if you think about, I think you
41:27
touched on earlier, the larger families and those that want luxury, given it's pretty
41:36
common, even if as early adopters, it's families of Asian backgrounds or others that have an
41:44
affinity with brands like BYD, Denza, Zika and others, could be early adopters and then other
41:50
people will see it and maybe it will catch on. So it depends on how they price this.
41:56
Surprisingly, I think the Hyundai Staria, which of course is an ICE van, that sells relatively well.
42:03
Kia Carnival, of course, has a bit of a reputation as well.
42:08
So maybe that segment is changing and maybe some people just don't want SUVs anymore.
42:15
Yeah. I mean, if I had extra people living in the house with us, I'd definitely take one of these
42:21
over a big SUV. I just feel like you might as well for ease of access. The seats move better.
42:27
Even with a six-seat, you can climb through the middle. Van-style opening doors, easy to get
42:32
in and out of. Yeah, it makes a lot of sense. So yeah, maybe the Chinese brands know something we
42:38
don't. They're positioning themselves for the next few years where it's going to take off.
42:44
Yeah, Justin's saying we are looking at a people mover. That's good. That's good.
42:48
Justin's saying also move to Brisbane and the street across from my house is five Zika.
42:53
What? That's five Zika 009s in the street. No way. That's a lot of Zika's.
43:00
Jeez. Kia EV9 seems to be a flop here. I don't know. It is not many selling, right?
43:07
No, they're not. I think apart from the EV5 and some months the EV3, the rest of the Kia lineup
43:14
is a little bit on the weaker end. I did get to see the Kia PV5 at a fleet show recently.
43:20
It does look cool. I think that has a six-seater version or like a people mover type of version
43:29
of that vehicle. So, hey, maybe that is the resurgence of some sort. Could be. Could be.
43:38
House prices are expensive. People have to stay home longer. So you never know. I like this
43:43
comment here. Random says, I can recommend a celebrity advocate for BYD Global Rollout,
43:49
Tony Danzer from Who's the Boss? I love it. I think of Tony Danzer as well, actually.
43:54
I think of Danzer. Nice. I saw VWBuzz recently. I see ID4s and 5s occasionally as well.
44:05
Not super popular, but they are around. Yeah. Cool. All right. Well, we might actually end
44:12
the show early, Riz, if that's okay with you. It's been a big couple of weeks,
44:17
obviously, for both of us, back from China and abroad and so on. But good to have you back,
44:21
Riz. And thanks for joining us tonight, as always. Likewise, Tom. And the crew, of course,
44:26
you know, this show is nothing without the audience and all the things that you bring to
44:31
the table and the learning that we have. I think it's going to be, 2026 is going to be pretty
44:38
interesting. We're sort of moving away from early adopters now. So moving into early
44:44
mainstream. You know, I think it's so much choice. And I think the price,
44:50
probably the price war, it's just starting. It really is. Yeah. And seeing 9% sales in November
44:57
is pretty good. You know, I think this year was off to a slow start. We're seeing like
45:02
5%, 6% sales earlier on this year. So I'm curious to see what the early next year,
45:07
those kind of numbers will be like in the first few months, as we know it's traditionally
45:11
a little bit slow. So hopefully we see more consistent 10% figures in 2026.
45:17
All right, gents and ladies in the chat and Riz, thank you for joining us tonight.
45:21
I will be off on another couple of weeks break. It's a school holiday starting this weekend
45:27
with the kids. So taking some time off to enjoy their company. But we'll be back
45:34
hopefully for a show either before Christmas or afterwards. So we'll let you know regardless.
45:40
But yeah, as Riz said, thank you guys and girls in the chat. The show is nothing without you.
45:45
We do depend on your tips and tags on social media. So keep those coming, keep those pictures
45:51
coming. Whatever you see on the road, tag us, see anything camo, let us know as well.
45:56
That's they're the best ones. They can't be everywhere, but with your help, we certainly
46:00
can be. So thank you very much. All right, Riz, thanks so much for your time.
46:05
Thank you to Roland for this year too. Hopefully he's enjoying his time with his family.
46:10
And thank you to our sponsors as always. Thank you, Riz. Have a good night.
