Spring pollen, movie talk, and car-nerd debates collide as the BS Car Guys cover Project Hail Mary’s book-accurate adaptation, then pivot to gaming with Forza Horizon 6’s Japan setting and a long-running argument about Forza vs Gran Turismo styles. The show’s real meat is Bill’s Run to the Sun car-show recap—especially his Sunbeam Tiger—plus a plan to capture owners’ car stories via QR codes. They also dissect the new Corvette Grand Sport refresh, rumors of a manual, and a Bring a Trailer auction for a Ken Block Ford Escort. The episode ends with praise for Hagerty’s extreme drag-race benchmarks (including the ZR1X vs Lucid).
"And speaking of movies, there was another, there's another movie that you brought to my attention that had a teaser trailer come out this week. Did you watch it?"
A teaser trailer is a short preview that’s mostly there to get you curious. It usually doesn’t tell you the whole story yet.
A teaser trailer is a short promotional clip meant to generate interest without fully revealing the movie’s plot. It often focuses on mood, characters, and a few key moments rather than explaining the story.
"Speaking of things that were released this week, I don't know if you have been keeping up with all of the content drop that has taken place this week around Forza Horizon 6. ... Forza Horizon 6 coming in May available now for pre-order on Xbox and Steam is set in Japan."
Forza Horizon 6 is a new racing video game. It’s part of a popular series where you drive lots of cars in an open-world map and race in events.
Forza Horizon 6 is the next entry in Microsoft’s Forza Horizon racing game series. It’s a driving-game franchise known for open-world cruising, car collecting, and event-based racing.
"Forza Horizon 6 coming in May available now for pre-order on Xbox and Steam is set in Japan."
A pre-order is when you buy a product before it officially releases, often to secure launch availability. In games, pre-orders can also come with bonus content or early access depending on the platform and edition.
"Forza Horizon 6 coming in May available now for pre-order on Xbox and Steam is set in Japan. It has all the Japanese influence, including 7-Elevens and auto stores and car meets and customizable garages..."
“Set in Japan” means the game world is themed around Japan. You’ll likely see Japanese streets, landmarks, and car-scene details.
When a racing game is “set in Japan,” it usually means the map and cultural details are inspired by Japanese locations and car culture. That can affect the types of roads, events, and visual themes you’ll see while driving.
"Forza Horizon 6 coming in May available now for pre-order on Xbox and Steam is set in Japan."
Xbox is one of the main gaming systems from Microsoft. The game is coming to Xbox, so you can play it on that platform.
Xbox is Microsoft’s gaming platform/console ecosystem. Forza Horizon titles are typically released on Xbox consoles and Windows PCs, making Xbox a key part of the franchise’s audience.
"Forza Horizon 6 coming in May available now for pre-order on Xbox and Steam is set in Japan."
Steam is a place to buy and play games on your computer. It means Forza Horizon 6 will be available on PC too.
Steam is a digital storefront and PC gaming platform by Valve. Mentioning Steam signals the game will be playable on Windows PCs in addition to consoles.
"Um, you got rhythm, but I played, uh, Gran Turismo. It's like Gran Turismo sport or something like that, which I don't even know what number in the series that really is."
Gran Turismo is a racing game series. It’s known for trying to feel like real driving, not just quick arcade racing.
Gran Turismo is a long-running racing video game series known for realistic driving physics and car handling. In car culture, it’s often treated as a “sim” that emphasizes how cars behave rather than just styling or arcade fun.
"And that is okay, which is a simulator and that loop killed me every time. That was a very old driving simulator. That's like the tron of driving simulators."
A driving simulator is like a racing video game setup with a steering wheel and pedals. It tries to copy real driving, but it doesn’t fully feel like being in a real car.
A driving simulator is a setup that mimics driving using a screen/VR and controls, often with force feedback. It’s used for practice and entertainment, but it can feel very different from a real car due to limited motion cues and tire/road feedback.
"Um, I believe it's nothing newer than 1988. Um, so this, this event's called run to the sun. It's my first time ever attending it."
They’re saying the event only includes cars from 1988 or older. So it’s aimed at classic cars, not newer models.
Stating the event has “nothing newer than 1988” sets a clear cutoff year, meaning the cars are all model years 1988 or older. That’s important for listeners because it signals the show’s focus on classic-era vehicles rather than modern cars.
"..., um, four, five cars in their group, two C three Corvettes. Um, a 1977 Ford F 350 wrecker and a Ford crown ..."
The Chevrolet Corvette is a sports car made by Chevrolet. It’s built to be fast and fun to drive, not like a regular family car. The podcast mentions it because it’s a well-known performance model people recognize.
The Chevrolet Corvette is a performance sports car built by Chevrolet, known for its strong acceleration and driver-focused design. It often comes up in car discussions because it represents a long-running American sports-car tradition and has many generations with different styles and performance levels. In the podcast, it’s mentioned as part of a small group of notable cars, highlighting its presence and appeal.
"So they, they had, um, four, five cars in their group, two C three Corvettes. Um, a 1977 Ford F 350 wrecker and a Ford crown Vic patrol car. And then Larry, uh, Larry had his, um, 1966 son being tiger."
The Ford F-350 is a large pickup truck made for heavy-duty jobs. The podcast mentions a 1977 F-350 wrecker, which is a truck set up to tow other vehicles. It’s brought up because it’s a specialized, work-focused version of the model.
The Ford F-350 is a heavy-duty pickup truck built for demanding work like towing and hauling. In the podcast, it’s specifically called out as a 1977 F-350 wrecker, which implies a specialized version used for towing/recovery. That makes it notable because it represents both the truck’s capability and a particular purpose-built configuration.
"Cause it's one of those cars that people either know exactly what it is or they have no clue.
Um, so, you know, fair amount of explaining exactly what a sunbeam tiger is.
And, um, yeah."
The Sunbeam Tiger is a rare sports car that’s famous for having a Ford V8 engine. Because it’s not common, some people recognize it immediately, and others have no idea what it is.
The Sunbeam Tiger is a rare British sports car best known for being an “engine swap” type of build: it uses a Ford V8 in a Sunbeam/Rootes-era chassis. That Ford powertrain is a big part of why enthusiasts find it interesting and why people either recognize it instantly or don’t know what it is.
"Um, that that car essentially ended its lifespan because, because of Chrysler. That makes sense. A lot of things, a lot of things die when they get involved with Chrysler. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Chrysler, we're good at killing cars."
They’re talking about Chrysler making business decisions that hurt a car’s future. When big companies take over smaller brands, they can change what parts are used or how the car is built, and that can kill the project.
The speaker is blaming Chrysler for a product’s short lifespan, implying the brand’s corporate decisions negatively affected the car. In automotive history, mergers and acquisitions often lead to platform/parts changes that can disrupt production and support.
"So that's why they only built about 7,000 of them total. And if I understand right, there's only about 2,500 of them or so left."
A production run of ~7,000 units indicates a low-volume model, which often affects parts availability, dealer support, and long-term collectability. Low numbers can also mean more variability in how the car was built or supported over time.
"...when last time I was at a car show, I haven't been in car show in a long time."
A car show is an event where people bring cars to show them off. It’s usually a fun hangout for car lovers, not just a place to look at cars.
A car show is an organized event where enthusiasts display vehicles, often with a mix of classic, modified, and modern cars. The speaker’s point is about how long it’s been since they’ve attended and how that local culture matters.
"...encourage me after we was coming home from watching Project Hail Mary, you know how all those little automatic car wash things are popping up everywhere."
They’re talking about the kind of car wash where you drive in and machines do the cleaning for you. It’s convenient, but it can be rough on your car if the brushes or equipment aren’t in good shape.
The speaker is referring to automated car washes—systems that move the car through brushes, rails, or conveyor-style equipment. These are common because they’re fast and consistent, but they can also be harsher on paint and trim if the wash is poorly maintained.
"The Auto Fair is more about like a giant part swap meet and, you know, part sale than it is a car show."
A “part swap meet” is an event where vendors and hobbyists bring used or reproduction parts to buy, sell, or trade. Compared to a traditional car show, the focus is more on sourcing components—like trim, interior pieces, or mechanical parts—rather than judging or displaying cars.
"...hand people a flyer or a piece of paper with an explanation of who we are and what the podcast is with a QR code that they could scan and request us to come back and visit them."
A QR code is a little square you scan with your phone. It can take you to a website or message so people can sign up or send information easily.
A QR code is a scannable square barcode that quickly links someone to a webpage or form. In this segment, it’s being used as a low-friction way to capture interest and route people to the podcast recording/interview process.
"I did accuse my wife of buying Alexis because they were following her today as she was moving around. The Lexus RX is that a copper crest colored seem to be attracted to her."
The Lexus RX is a luxury SUV from Lexus. It’s the kind of car people often see everywhere because it’s comfortable and practical.
The Lexus RX is Lexus’s popular midsize luxury SUV, known for a comfortable ride and family-friendly practicality. In the segment, it’s mentioned as the vehicle the speaker’s wife is driving, and the speaker is describing how often they spot similar cars on the road.
"I was I was on the Hagerty because I was introducing somebody to the Hagerty drag races."
Hagerty is a car enthusiast brand that makes videos and hosts events. In this clip, they’re talking about a Hagerty drag-racing video that sparked the discussion.
Hagerty is an automotive media and insurance company best known for enthusiast-focused content and events. Here, the speaker references a Hagerty video featuring a “Grand Sport” drag race, using it as context for the mid-engine vs GT argument.
"So it does have more horsepower now. So it went from 495 to 535 and 520 pounds for the torque."
Horsepower is basically how strong the engine is. More horsepower usually means the car can accelerate harder, especially at higher speeds.
Horsepower is a measure of an engine’s power output—how much work it can do over time. The hosts mention horsepower increases as part of the engine update discussion.
"So it went from 495 to 535 and 520 pounds for the torque. There was a rumor that it was going to gain a manual transmission that has not made it into reality yet."
Torque is the engine’s pulling force. It’s what helps the car feel strong when you start moving or when you accelerate from lower speeds.
Torque is the twisting force an engine produces, which strongly affects how quickly a car accelerates from low speeds. The segment pairs torque with horsepower to describe the engine’s overall performance change.
"When they know they're selling to octogenarians, but yet they're replacing all their six twos with six, seven, six, seven."
Octogenarians are people who are in their 80s. Here it’s being used to make a point about who the brand seems to be trying to sell to.
Octogenarians are people in their 80s. The hosts are using the term to criticize how a brand’s messaging or product choices may be aimed at older buyers rather than younger enthusiasts.
"What's your incentive right now to go buy a standard bone stock Corvette? Money, $20,000. You think that makes that big a difference to your average Corvette buyer?"
“Bone stock” means a vehicle is unmodified from the factory—no aftermarket upgrades or tuning. Here, it’s used to contrast the base Corvette against the electrified/high-tech variant, emphasizing the price difference and what buyers get for it.
"You know, Saab was, they were like, we're crazy.
And we, we know we're in on the joke and the joke's us."
Saab was a car brand from Sweden. People who like weird, characterful cars often talk about Saab because it didn’t feel like the usual mainstream brands.
Saab was a Swedish automaker known for quirky, aviation-inspired engineering and unusual design choices. In enthusiast circles, “Saab” often comes up as a “funky car company” because of its distinctive identity and loyal fanbase.
"A kid, he was familiar with donut and we was watching donuts Corvette video and he was like, it don't, it don't feel the same.
I was like, yeah, because pretty much all the dudes except him are gone."
“Donut” refers to Donut Media, a popular automotive YouTube channel that produces car culture and enthusiast-focused videos. When they say the kid was familiar with “donut,” they’re pointing to how the channel shapes what younger viewers expect cars to feel like or sound like.
"I don't know how often you check the old bring a trailer. But if you haven't seen it, I could email if you, if you haven't seen it, you should go look because they are auctioning off a very special automobile currently."
Bring a Trailer is a website where car enthusiasts buy and sell cars through auctions. People watch the listings closely because the final price can surprise you.
Bring a Trailer (BaT) is a popular online auction site focused on enthusiast cars. Listings often attract collectors, and prices can reflect both condition and historical significance.
"And it is going to be I just I can't even guess what it's going to sell for. There are some speculators out there. I bet you there's people betting on what this thing sells for."
Speculators are people who buy hoping the price will go up later. In car auctions, that can make bidding more intense.
Speculators are buyers who try to profit from price swings rather than just using or enjoying the car. In collector-car auctions, speculation can amplify bidding when a listing is expected to be rare or historically important.

Good evening, Bill.
Good evening, Stanley. Hello listeners. Welcome back. It's the BS Car Guys podcast. Delighted to have you this spring evening.
Spring, it is. The whole coast of South Carolina is covered in a blanket of yellow pollen.
Yeah, we got a good dusting to a half inch here ourselves.
Yeah, I know people up north still, you know, they deal with snow. We deal with the yellow blanket of spring right after y'all get y'all snow.
That is the truth.
It is not glorious at all.
But yeah, so yeah, we're back again. We're going to talk about a few things. Somebody took a little trip and some things happened today.
We're going to talk about them a little bit. And then on top of that, before we even get there, because this is a BS Car Guys podcast.
That means we don't always talk about cars. Bill, did you see the movie?
I did.
What do you think?
Well, having read the book.
Well, we know the book is going to be better.
No, no, no. Having read the book, let me be the first to say it may be the most accurate to the movie book connection of any movie I have ever seen.
In fact, some of the dialogue is 100% spot on lifted from the book.
And it might be the best movie I have seen in five years.
Okay, I just realized something we didn't even say what the movie is.
The movie we're talking about is Project Hail Mary, which came out last week.
It is. What's the author name?
Oh, wait, wait, I was talking about hoppers. You're talking, nah, I'm just kidding.
That was too good.
Yeah, so Project Hail Mary, like I said, I read the book back in January, just because I had saw the initial trailer for it and knew that it was the same author as the book The Martian, which was also made into a movie.
Andy Weir is the author you are thinking of.
And let me just tell you, if you're a reader or a listener of books, this one is well worth your time and you could watch the movie first and then read the book.
And honestly, I don't think it would make that much difference.
You know, there are a few minor things that were included in the movie or maybe glossed over from the book in the movie just based on runtime and details.
But I'm telling you, it's as close as I have seen that I can recall at all.
Now, I'm not always been the best of readers, what with being a Marine Corps guy and all.
But so I haven't read all the books.
But I've read enough that have been adapted to movies that I'm usually disappointed.
And in this case, I was not.
I 100% laughed out loud multiple times during the movie very loudly, especially because of how close they were able to adapt the book to the movie.
So anyway, I give it two big thumbs up.
Likewise, I did not listen to or read the book.
I was actually you actually introduced me to that for some reason, even though we are.
We watched a lot of movies.
That one, I don't know why I wasn't paying attention to that one.
I don't know what it was, but you brung that to my attention.
I did download the book.
I did not read the book, listen to the book yet.
I was, I think, because I like you.
Like, I guess everybody kind of knows, you know, an adaptation of from print to movie that meet that median change sometimes will disappoint you.
Especially if you're a real fan of the source material.
And I didn't want to go into a disappointed.
So I wanted to kind of watch the book, watch the movie first and then listen to the book to pick up the extra details because I think that's that's a better format that works better for me.
I didn't think I was going to fall in love with a rock.
I didn't think I was going to cry over there and rock.
Oh, yeah.
I didn't think I had feelings for rocks like that.
Especially that weird five-legged blonde spider space rocks.
Yeah, exactly.
But if you're listening this, and if you like geeky stuff, if you watch it, as I told some guys at work, it's like, if you like the Martian and if you like all God, what's the one with.
McConaughey in a stellar stellar.
If this movie you this movie should be on your playlist, you should absolutely go watch this movie.
And if you're one of them, if you're one of them people who need things to blow up every five seconds, are you going to fall asleep?
This just ain't for you.
It's very true.
No, you're right.
You definitely want to be a thinking movie to an extent.
But I mean, there's still a good amount of action and comedy.
Absolutely.
And there is.
But I mean, we, we had some, I would say, early 20-somethings right behind us and they were talking the whole time.
Because it was they seem like they knew they were into the movie, but they were talking the whole time and some of the parts that I wanted to listen and figure out what the heck was going on.
And then we had this, this, these two middle-aged ladies that was having a whole conversation, like two seats to the left of us.
And I wanted to call the movie theater police.
I really did.
But yeah, so yeah, that was a recommendation for a very, very good movies.
And speaking of movies, there was another, there's another movie that you brought to my attention that had a teaser trailer come out this week.
Did you watch it?
I don't know which, which were, I mean, there was a trailer this week that dropped.
It was not a teaser trailer, but it was a pretty big deal trailer.
I am talking about Drifter.
Oh, yes, I did see the teaser for that very short, hard to get a real feel for where the movie's going.
I am excited about the movie.
I was talking about Spider-Man, but we can go there.
To bring it to bring it back though to cars, what would this be in a car themed podcast and all.
Speaking of things that were released this week, I don't know if you have been keeping up with all of the content drop that has taken place this week around Forza Horizon 6.
I am not aware.
You driving games where your was your thing because what one, you're you're a better driver than me.
I see.
I said it on the podcast again.
I said it before I even mentioned that the J word.
Well, I mean, believe it or not, I was going to be the first one to bring it up.
Forza Horizon 6 coming in May available now for pre-order on Xbox and Steam is set in Japan.
It has all the Japanese influence, including 7-Elevens and auto stores and car meets and customizable garages where you can say your toolbox is where you want them.
And every detail you can think of, it looks like it is going to be a phenomenal game.
Yeah, I will, I will believe you.
I, for lack of better words, I sucked at them games.
I think you reinforced how much I sucked in them games because you didn't give me a win.
You didn't let me, I wouldn't even compete.
We were, we were running two races, two different races.
I don't, I don't, I don't let anybody win at a race.
If you, if you beat me, it's because you're better than me.
That's, that's how I look at it.
Look, look, I understand, but you got to give us some hope.
There was no question of who was going to win that guy.
I, you maybe put the controller down and it's like, you know what?
I need, I just need other things to go there.
I get it.
It happens.
Listen, I'm, I'm not trying to brag because if it's a sports related game, I,
I don't even know what to do.
Like I couldn't tell you, I don't know what a play looks like.
I don't know what team to pick or what players to pick or so I couldn't be further lost.
I mean, at least with a racing game, if I hand you the controller,
you have some concept of like what the goal is.
I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm clueless when it comes to any of those.
I've never played a soccer video game or a baseball video game.
I have played football video games because I had roommates who made me, um,
but outside of that, I've never played a, an NBA, 2K, whatever,
Steph and Curry edition.
I've never played any of that stuff.
First of all, first of all, so, uh, Curry is a Carolina kid.
There will be no Carolina kids slander on this podcast.
No.
Hey, listen, I occasionally watch and binge watch some Steph Curry highlight reels
because dude can shoot from anywhere and it's just amazing.
Um, but, but anyway, um, yeah.
So I mean, my video gaming is very specific and limited and borderline autistic,
but it's, it's only in one of very limited field of play.
I don't do, um, POV third player.
Well, I don't do any of that stuff.
I don't do any of that stuff.
And I'm also so old.
Look, now you're going to get me on a crotchety old man kick.
I'm also, I'm so old.
How old are you?
I'm so old that I have zero interest and I literally mean zero zero interest to
play any video games of any kind online in a community of other players.
I'm only interested in playing like a story mode.
So if, if you designed a video game, but you took the day off on writing
a creative narrative that I'm not buying your game and playing it.
Well, I'm, well, I'm, I am that old as well.
Um, um, I think, before I ask you this question, actually, I think you may enjoy just,
just because I have children who play games and I work with young people, um,
that, uh, you may enjoy playing a game like Forge and stuff against competition.
I think that would be good to be honest.
Uh, you're not going to find competition or where it helps.
No, you're probably right.
But you know what?
I don't care.
I don't need, I don't need the community.
I work with a bunch of people.
I know some people.
I talk to people.
I don't need, I don't need those people and make believe video game world.
My reason for playing a video game is to zone out and drive by myself in my own
world with the nobody else trying to talk to me or do something with me.
So the last thing I want to do is get on that video game and have to deal with
other people's mental illnesses while I'm trying to play a video game.
Why are you trying to exercise your mental illnesses?
I got you.
100%.
100%.
All right.
With that said real quick, is Gran Turismo still a thing?
Uh, it is still a thing on the PlayStation format.
I have not, I have not played it since the PS4.
What are they on now five?
Yes, I believe.
So I have a four that we actually just recently got hooked back up to the TV
because we started playing.
Kendra and Anna wanted to play some.
Well, Kendra wanted to play some guitar hero.
So we broke that out.
I play guitar hero for the first time in my entire life.
Last from the past.
That's right.
Wow.
And, uh, and realized that I'm not any good at it, um, because, because one,
I never played it growing up and two, I don't have rhythm.
Um, so, so I struggled.
No, I don't have rhythm unless you let me borrow some.
Um, you got rhythm, but I played, uh, Gran Turismo.
It's like Gran Turismo sport or something like that, which I don't even know
what number in the series that really is.
I played it.
It's pretty good.
Um, it, it's a, it, you really start to see the difference when you play forza
versus playing Gran Turismo.
And I'm probably, if there's some like hardcore video game car enthusiasts on
here, I'm probably going to make them mad.
And it's like, you don't understand that different complexities in the system.
Well, listen, I don't, and I don't care.
So this is what I'm going to say.
I'm going to say that if you play forza, it is very much more of a, um, aesthetics
of automobilia, like you care about what the car looks like and sounds like.
And, um, you know, it's more of the, the fun enjoyment side of driving.
Whereas Gran Turismo is more of the, um, the guy who goes, enjoys going to the
DMV for the driving test.
Like it is, it is a driving simulator.
If you, if you were like, I would like to be as close to driving a car as I can
get without actually leaving my house because germs are bad, then, you know,
Gran Turismo is probably the game for you.
Cause it very much is like a driving simulator.
That's my two cents.
Okay.
And it seems, it seems like this is come full circle from the, uh, from the last
episode, we're going to talk about hard driving.
And that is okay, which is a simulator and that loop killed me every time.
That was a very old driving simulator.
That's like the tron of driving simulators.
Absolutely.
So, um, I guess we might talk about a car thing right now.
We should maybe talk about, yeah, let's do that.
Let's do that.
A real car, they say they're, people say they're kind of cool.
I guess we can kind of start with you a little bit.
Uh, did you, uh, did you make it to the car show?
I did.
I did attend the car show.
Um, I had every intention of filming a bunch of content the whole time I was down there
and putting together a YouTube episode for the channel.
Um, and, and I didn't do any of that other than film some on the drive down.
Uh, so, and here's why the thing is gigantic.
Um, it's in the old mall property where the mall used to be.
So it's, it's 43 acres, I think total and it's, it's full of cars.
It's, there were somewhere between 3,500 and 4,000 cars in that property.
And it's, um, I believe it's nothing newer than 1988.
Um, so this, this event's called run to the sun.
It's my first time ever attending it.
So if you're a listener in your classic car person, you're like, Oh my gosh,
this idiot doesn't know what he's, you're right.
I probably don't.
It was my first time going.
Um, but I went with my friend Larry and some of his friends and they had a group of guys
together.
So they, they had, um, four, five cars in their group, two C three Corvettes.
Um, a 1977 Ford F 350 wrecker and a Ford crown Vic patrol car.
And then Larry, uh, Larry had his, um, 1966 son being tiger.
Whoa.
Yeah.
And so I, I spent most of my time with the tiger, um, because it's black.
I spent most of my time leaf blowing pollen off of the tiger and, uh, and talking to people about the tiger.
Cause it's one of those cars that people either know exactly what it is or they have no clue.
Um, so, you know, fair amount of explaining exactly what a sunbeam tiger is.
And, um, yeah.
So anyway, it was a good event.
Um, I definitely got sunburned and, um, walked a lot of miles, walking around, looking at cars, a lot of cars there.
I would say, uh, an overwhelming majority of the cars that were there.
Cause we, okay.
So Larry had the only sunbeam tiger on the property.
Um, I would, I would imagine so.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And we've, we, I think we've talked about tigers before on the podcast, but you know, they, they basically, they built 7,000 of them total.
Um, I did learn some more about them that I didn't already know.
Or if I knew I forgot, I'm going to go with didn't know it.
Um, that that car essentially ended its lifespan because, because of Chrysler.
That makes sense.
A lot of things, a lot of things die when they get involved with Chrysler.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Chrysler, we're good at killing cars.
So, um, they, they bought sunbeam as a brand and, um, didn't bother to look at how the car was configured and, and realized pretty quickly like, Hey, we, we don't build a V eight with a front mounted distributor.
All of ours have rear mount distributors and now our V eights won't fit in the car.
So we've got to sell a Chrysler product on Chrysler dealerships with a Ford V eight in it.
And that didn't last long, like not even a full year.
And they said you done and they killed the tiger.
So that's why they only built about 7,000 of them total.
And if I understand right, there's only about 2,500 of them or so left.
That, you know what, that wouldn't make sense.
I mean, jumping in the bed, that jump, jumping in the bed to go get a cool thing, not understanding how it works, screw that thing up completely.
And now you just, yeah, that sounds completely right to American car companies.
That's, that's kind of what they do.
In my memory, so that isn't, I'm thinking about it.
That's not the only time that that happened where a car company,
Oh, I'm sure.
essentially bought an IP didn't, they didn't realize that it was using a engine from a different company.
And they either couldn't source it or it was a, it was a straight up competitor.
And then whatever they change is a skilled car.
I'm thinking it was another car that did.
I can't think of what it is outside.
It's just, what was it?
I'm stuck.
I can't remember what it is.
It's going to come back to me as soon as we get off here or tomorrow morning when I'm doing something completely different.
But yeah, so.
But the cool cars in my hometown, I didn't go because I did crazy thing is I was thinking about it while I was cutting the grass.
And I was like, when last time I was at a car show, I haven't been in car show in a long time.
But one thing did on that same day.
One thing did encourage me after we was coming home from watching Project Hail Mary, you know how all those little automatic car wash things are popping up everywhere.
Are they doing that?
Oh yeah.
So there's one in the shopping center across the street from this movie theater and evidently on Friday nights.
This is the they open it up.
They open the gates, the gates up and they just let people park their cars and they just hang out right there.
Nice.
And I was like, oh, we're bringing this back.
This is a good thing.
And I was just, I thought in my hands like somebody's gonna mess it up somehow.
But I mean, it's so much in public that it's hard to hide anything.
It ain't really no easy way to get out of that.
So that'd be dumb.
But whoever said smart people think anyway.
But I haven't been to a car show in a long time.
I don't think about it.
I will say this.
It definitely definitely made me want to get a classic car.
I do like the car show atmosphere.
And, you know, I don't know.
Now, I will say at this particular car show, there was an overwhelmingly large, I would say the majority of vehicles fall into the like, I guess muscle car era.
I mean, overwhelming majority of people at this show were, you know, Bel Air's and Chevelle's and CTN's.
You know, those, I would say those three cars in particular were probably 20% of the cars on site.
Impala's, you know, Malibu's, a lot of Chevy products in South Carolina, a lot of Chevrolets.
Does that change a lot when you get back over to the other side of the border?
I don't know.
I mean, I guess I haven't been to a car show anywhere close to that magnitude in North Carolina in a hot minute.
I mean, the Charlotte Auto Fair is a pretty big turnout, but honestly, I don't think there's as many cars at the Auto Fair.
The Auto Fair is more about like a giant part swap meet and, you know, part sale than it is a car show.
So even that's hard to compare, even though it is a very big scale, it's really kind of different.
And I was supposed to go to the, well, there was some discussion about attending the Auto Fair, but we are going to be out of town during the Auto Fair.
So I'm not, I'm not going to be able to attend yet.
And I was going to possibly drive a car to the Auto Fair, but that kind of fell through.
So anyway, so all that being said, this was going to say we're related to the show here.
So what I realized while I was there is, and the reason I had this epiphany was the sheer number of motorized electric mobility scooters.
There had to be a thousand mobility scooters on site.
So what it got me thinking about was these cars at this show in particular, and this is probably true of most car shows of these vintages, is that they are representative of a certain generation of folks.
And those folks are car people, just like we're car people.
And most of those folks have car stories.
You know, if it's a car that maybe they had when they were younger or their parents had, or it's the car they came on from the hospital in or, you know, they had their first date in or whatever.
And so they went out and found that car and fixed it up and made it look like the way they want.
And, you know, they are at a point in their life where they have the financial freedom and the free time to go to these car shows and on these cars.
So it would be cool to get their car stories.
So I think my plan would be moving forward.
And you can tell me what you think about this because I think it will take both of us, unfortunately for you, is that we would attend an event like this and spend the first day.
This was a multiple day.
I mean, this thing was from Tuesday to Saturday or Tuesday to Sunday.
I mean, I was only there Thursday night, Friday and Saturday morning.
So I was really only there two total days.
But I think if we went to an event like this, we could show up on the first day, walk the whole thing and hand people a flyer or a piece of paper with an explanation of who we are and what the podcast is with a QR code that they could scan and request us to come back and visit them.
Okay.
And we tell them that we will come by and record for the podcast and for prosperity, their car story about their car that they brought and why it's special to them and what got them into cars and all the normal things that we like to ask on an interview.
But do that at the car show, having given the person time to be prepared and agree to do it instead of just walking up and being like, Hey, do you want to be on camera?
Because I don't think people will be as receptive to that.
I agree with you.
Actually, I commend you for not having a crazy idea.
I thought you was about to jump the shark there a little bit.
But now that was actually a pretty good idea.
Even to kind of go off of that some.
I don't know if there's a way to do it where you could have them record their dad go and their car story.
Oh, and they just simply send it to us via QR code.
Yeah, and we can have an email address attached to it.
And so we can make sure they get it.
They can hear it.
They can, you know, have some some kid years from now can listen to their granddad or grandma's dad on car story.
That's a that's a pretty good idea.
Actually, I really like that.
Sometimes we have good pretty good ideas.
I don't know exactly how we would do this, but.
But, you know, even though we are the most tech savvy people, we are the most tech savvy people that we know.
So I think we could figure it out together.
I mean, when our rocks, you know, we weren't grunts.
We're aviation ordinance men.
You got to have a GT school to get over here.
Yeah, there you go.
You got to be in that like 95 percentile.
Absolutely. Absolutely.
Oh, people in cars.
Okay, let's hear it.
What did you buy?
Oh, people.
Wow.
Wow.
I bought nothing.
I did accuse my wife of buying Alexis because they were following her today as she was moving around.
The Lexus RX is that a copper crest colored seem to be attracted to her.
I don't every time, every time she goes somewhere, she sees two or three of them.
We'll come back from date last date night last night and I saw an old, a white, old stingray.
And I was like, wow.
I was like, wow, it is nighttime.
I was like, wow, where are you?
Why are you are here at night?
What are you doing?
I did.
Yeah.
But I mean, that's just not a car you see driving on in a 26 at night.
You know, usually somebody's pulling their car out where people can see it.
You know, because you know, on highways, people are doing all the dumbest stuff.
So, especially that time of night, people were kind of either going to shift changes and stuff.
People driving crazy doing all types of stuff.
But I was like, I was looking at the car.
Giselle even looked at him and was like, oh, that is nice.
And I was like, yeah, yeah, yeah.
And then I woke up this morning and a brand new old person car debuted today.
Oh, what was a brand new old person car to debut today?
Was it a Corvette?
Absolutely.
2027 Corvette brand sport came out today.
I don't know if you've been on the tubes today because you said you had a day.
I have not been on I have not been on anything today.
I have had a day today.
Well, as soon as you get on the tubes, every car person has has a video about this car.
So usually towards the end of the run of Corvette and the last four generations for four generations.
Skip one in there.
The engineers at Chevrolet will unleash upon us the grand sport.
What are what I call the right Corvette because the fastest is not the fastest Corvette.
It's not the cheapest Corvette is just the right one.
Oh, OK.
I had to go all the way to Donut Garage video to find it.
I had to scroll quite a ways in my subscriptions because I guess I don't really follow any car review people much anymore.
I have it on at work.
So yeah.
So usually the grand sport is using a the wide track, the wider Corvette frame from the higher performance models with the the engine from the cheaper model.
And base base engine, base engine, better suspension.
Yeah, softened up a little bit, making it making it the grand sport of the GT car of the Corvettes, which I am.
That's the one I'm here for.
But if you're but if you're buying a mid engine car is is is really a grand sport car, even a thing.
I mean, grand touring cars are not mid engine cars.
Sports cars are mid engine cars.
First of all, I will get here later.
I was I was on the Hagerty because I was introducing somebody to the Hagerty drag races.
And they had a grand sport drag race that with the Bentley, the Mercedes AMG and the McLaren.
And he made the same argument that this is mid engine, but it's still a GT car.
So this was today.
This was today.
There was a great drag race video.
No, no, it wasn't.
It was an older one.
But not a car.
No, no, no.
So in the in the Hagerty video, it was the Bentley Continental GT something because it's 27 of them.
Right.
The Mercedes AMG GT and the McLaren GT grand sport or whatever they call it.
I'm going to look it up in a second while we're talking to you.
So the car came, the Corvette Grand Sport came out today and seeing how you didn't look at it.
You haven't seen it.
You're seeing it.
It's a little bit of it now.
What do you think initially?
Do you matter of fact?
I mean, do you still agree with me that the Grand Sport is the right trim of the Corvette?
For you?
Yeah, absolutely.
That is the right trim for you.
The right trim of Corvette for me is a C506.
You don't want to go all the way up to that zero one X.
Nope.
No interest.
See, I do what I like.
This is why I love you.
So that video that I showed that kid today is a year old and it does have the Bentley Continental GT speed.
The AMG GT 63 and the McLaren GTS.
And that was that one.
But we'll get back to Hagerty in a minute.
I was going to say, because that's not the Drag Race video we should be talking about.
Oh, that's why I said we'll get back to Hagerty in a minute.
One thing that they did this time with the Grand Sport is they updated the engine.
They moved away from the 6.2 small block V8 until a new 6.7 liter LS V8.
They're calling it the LS6.
They're using the old name, but it's not the old engine.
They say it's some bull crap.
Like it's the sixth generation of the LS motor.
So that's why we called it LS6.
That's like you already got one of them.
Are you going to disconfuse people?
That's not doing that.
Especially when your average demographic is so easily confused.
Absolutely. 100%.
You know how much you disconfuse people.
So it does have more horsepower now.
So it went from 495 to 535 and 520 pounds for the torque.
There was a rumor that it was going to gain a manual transmission that has not made it into reality yet.
But Tremac is developed.
There was a bunch of internet rumors last year that Tremac developed a manual transmission with the exact same bolt pattern and stuff to fit in the Corvette.
But it's not official yet.
We'll see how that works out.
There's not a manual transmission option for a C8 Corvette, right?
Yep. There is not one.
Correct.
Another reason why I would never buy a C8.
Well, we love you too.
That car is just wrong on so many levels.
Why do you have to go to the hate?
I knew it was coming.
You know, given the option to pick a front engine grand sport or this grand sport, I know which one you would pick too.
You do know which one I would pick.
But why would I pick it?
Because you're also old and crotchety.
You just pretend like you're not.
I am a little older than you and less crotchety than you.
The reason I like the C7 over the C8 is because I believe even though the car is technically better in all performance metrics,
you lose something by going to a middling car in Corvette.
And that's a lot of the things, a lot of the practical space.
One of the reasons why Corvettes and 911s and GTRs and M3s were always my favorite cars.
Always some of these other things was even though they were capable of doing all this crazy stuff performance wise, you can live with them every day.
I'm not saying that the Corvette doesn't have some space in it, but in that it doesn't.
You lose the practicality of the C7 just because you moved the engine.
And be honest, that's the biggest reason why I like that car better.
And also it's probably going to cost significantly less.
Yes, definitely going to cost significantly less.
Yeah.
They're claiming that this car is going to be under a hundred K, which had.
So, and the other thing that they did today, which I know you don't know about is well, two other things.
So they're replacing the six to everywhere.
So all the Corvettes now we're going to get at least the six, seven, and then the dad on flat plain crack and then the turbos and stuff.
So the six, two is gone.
And they killed the e-ray.
Kinda.
Which is a mistake, which is a mistake.
And listen, you tell me, look, you tell me if there's not.
In the car world is there anybody that comes anywhere close to being as desperate sounding as Chevrolet.
When they know they're selling to octogenarians, but yet they're replacing all their six twos with six, seven, six, seven.
Oh my God.
I didn't even take it at all.
Oh, Bill, Bill.
Why?
I'm telling you right now, Chevrolet, you're trying too hard.
Yeah.
You're all forming and you're trying too hard.
For those of you who are listening, this is the first podcast that we are doing where I can't see Bill's face right now.
And I don't even know if he can see my face right now.
Oh, I can see your face.
And you said oral farming.
We should come up with a bunch of phrases that we shall not say on this podcast and that should be in the top five.
I thought we already had some phrases, but they were all car related.
Look, I completely off subject.
I found out this year that there's a thing called
looks, look, look maxing.
And trust me, all it will do is piss you off.
And then, and you know, I am way more lack of better flexible around some young people things than you are sometimes.
Bro, me and my wife had the most disgusted looks on our face when we listen to that podcast.
I was like, what the hell?
Oh, and I learned a new word even though I don't know what the word means.
It's called mogging.
Maybe you can ask one of your two.
That one I've heard.
I almost don't want to know what it means because I don't ever want to use that word.
Wow.
All right, get back on track.
All right.
They kind of killed the e-ray.
Sort of.
The nameplate e-ray is gone because now they're calling it the Grand Sport X.
And it's gaining the electric motor from the ZR1X.
So now it has more horsepower now, too.
So is that 721 horsepower now?
Which is kind of crazy.
Why is your, well, maybe it's not.
But I mean, what is your incentive if you're a Corvette buyer or a prospective Corvette buyer?
What's your incentive right now to go buy a standard bone stock Corvette?
Money, $20,000.
You think that makes that big a difference to your average Corvette buyer?
I'm not saying they can't afford it.
What I'm telling you is because I am fastly, I feel like I'm fastly approaching that age demographic.
Spending it and being able to afford it are two different things.
Sure, sure, sure.
Yeah, no, no, no.
I mean, I agree with you.
But I mean, you understand my point.
My point is like, how in the world does Corvette Chevrolet, how do they expect to be successful selling these cars?
If they've now put themselves in a position where the performance is so, the like, the low water mark is so high.
Yeah.
Where's your incentive to just buy a base?
To be honest, I mean, the Grand Sport is essentially a wide-bodied base car with more options as standard features.
And a fractionally more money.
But I mean, it's not substantially, if I'm reading this chart correctly, it's going to be about $15,000 more.
Okay.
You know what else is $15,000 right now?
Everything.
I mean, unfortunately, we live in a world where now $15,000 is not a lot of money.
Correct.
When you're paying $1,000 a month car payments for 762 months.
And when he says you, he is talking about you people because we are not doing that.
We are not doing that.
Not at all.
Neither of us shall do that.
I'm looking at this chart right now on Car and Driver's website.
And they're estimating that Grand Sport should come in at $95,000.
And they're saying that Stingray, the base car 3LT convertible, well, you know what?
I do coop to coop should come out at like 85 grand.
So it's like a $10,000 difference in between it.
I mean, for every dude out there who can get one of these, somebody out there, there is a half a person.
So for every two people, every two people out there that is in a Corvette, there's one person that stretched to get in that vet.
You know what I mean?
Yeah.
Yeah.
So I mean, maybe to be honest, most people will buy the base LT1 and that will be way too much car for them to drive.
I'm starting right there.
So I mean, and then the other thing is to the layperson, they ain't going to be, all they're going to be able to see is Corvette.
They ain't going to know the difference.
You and I will.
The people who listen to this podcast will be able to tell the difference between these cars.
But layperson, they don't know.
All they see is Corvette.
That's right.
No, you're exactly right.
Yeah.
So yeah, Corvette did a little bit of a refresh.
I'm kind of, nobody's really driven it yet.
Well, Donut, he drove it around the tracks, but nobody's kind of did a review of the car and driving it yet.
But I'm sure if they let Donut drive it around the track, I'm sure they let other people drive around the track.
I just haven't seen those videos yet.
And so.
So speaking of new cars.
Have you heard any rumors or seen anything about.
Ford possibly.
Bringing back.
The old school Ute.
And selling a ranch arrow.
I have not.
I have no, I have not seen that the rumors I have been seeing here lately.
Is Ford bringing back some dance.
That also is a rumor that I have heard.
Yeah.
The Ute.
I mean, did they stop selling the Ute?
Like they like, well, they didn't call there's a Ute.
Holden calls there, called there's the Ute.
Ute is an Australian word.
We don't.
Yeah.
Did they stop selling theirs? Because I mean, we know Holden went out of business.
So that car is dead.
Did Ford stop selling their rent?
What did they call it?
Is that what they called it?
I'm not sure what they called it in Australia.
Did they.
If they didn't stop selling it, I mean, they could pull a GM trick and.
And bring that car to the market. I mean, they switched the drive.
The steel one to the other side, but.
To be honest with the, with the amount of success that the Maverick has, they, they might as well put.
Build more things with beds on the back. People seem to like them.
Yeah.
I mean, like your friend, I don't know anybody.
I don't know anybody who, who.
Wanted a Maverick.
That doesn't have one right now.
And I know several people who wanted an F-150 or a Ranger.
And in that bond of Maverick that are not, not mad with their purchase.
Cause to be honest, you may need a truck cause you peel things and you actually do stuff.
Most of these people, man, they driving the most.
They're driving the most and picking up some, some bags.
Probably 90% of the uses.
Yeah.
But I mean, I haven't heard it. I haven't heard that rumor, but I would, I would.
I heard the rumor of Subaru bringing back their thing.
The brat.
Yeah.
That would be interesting.
Yeah.
I mean, what, man, there was a time when we had the rent, Cheryl, the El Camino, the Brats.
We had a lot of funky cars back in the day, man.
Now they, they don't do funky cars like that.
They don't work.
I mean, we had whole car companies that was just the whole car company was a funky car company like Saab.
You know, Saab was, they were like, we're crazy.
And we, we know we're in on the joke and the joke's us.
Yeah.
We should do a podcast in the near future about funky cars and funky car companies.
I mean, we get the right soundtrack.
I think we could do it, but I mean, we're going to need some.
We may be able to pull some music off.
I think I, I've, I know I used to could, I used to be able to add music when there were, when the platform was natively in anchor.
I would imagine you still do it.
The restriction is you got to take off advertisements or something crap like that, but we get around that.
Ain't no big thing.
All right.
That's not like we make money off this anyway, but speaking of making, not yet, but if somebody wants to pay it, I agree.
But we shall not go the way I don't.
We will not.
That is another thing that happened today.
A kid, he was familiar with donut and we was watching donuts Corvette video and he was like, it don't, it don't feel the same.
I was like, yeah, because pretty much all the dudes except him are gone.
That's right.
He's a, he's the only one left.
And him and Pumphrey is that I'm going back at each other.
Back and forth with each other.
That was half the reason we watched.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You're right.
You know, and I told him the story of a FLD.
What's going on there?
Speaking, speaking of the way it used to be an OG car content.
I don't know how often you check the old bring a trailer.
But if you haven't seen it, I could email if you, if you haven't seen it, you should go look because they are auctioning off a very special automobile currently.
Well, I'm going on.
I'm going on now.
Well, the first thing that popped up was a Honda three wheeler, which that things that things wheels are still wrapped in plastic.
I don't know that.
But anyway, so which, which very special car are you talking about?
I'm talking about a black car with white wheels and a number 43 on the side of it.
No, that belongs to the family of a deceased legend.
No.
And his family is selling.
Yeah.
So Ken blocks mark to Ford Escort rally car is currently listed on bring a trailer.
My absolute favorite car if he is without question is listed right now and bring a trailer.
No.
And it is going to be I just I can't even guess what it's going to sell for.
There are some speculators out there.
I bet you there's people betting on what this thing sells for.
Oh yeah, you can battle everything now they with the speculator.
I don't I do know betting sports betting speculation things none of that stuff so but I do know it exists.
I am not seeing this car on here.
Why am I not seeing this car on here?
Oh my gosh.
They do have a 95 or some advantage sort sort of sorted by ending latest because I think it's got a lot of days left on it.
Let me I'm going to try to do that.
Ending latest.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's there.
Yeah.
What would motivate them to sell that car?
Same thing that motivates a lot of people to sell things.
True.
But man, even if that's the case, you hold on to that car for a little longer and it's still the current bid right now is $128,000.
But yeah.
But how many days you got left on it?
Seven.
Yeah.
You can bet that car.
Oh yeah.
It's going to be it's going to be an interesting auction to watch closed next week.
The person who's going to buy that car, he's not even he hasn't put a bid in.
No.
No.
And you say person, I almost wonder if the person who buys that car is actually going to wind up being the company that buys that car or the museum that buys that car.
Okay.
So now we get into conspiracy there.
Who do you think is going to be?
I don't I don't have a person that I'm just convinced is going to be the buyer, but I just I would be I would be interested to know who when we get to let's say six days from now.
It would be interesting to know who the bidders are that are actively bidding.
I'll tell you who I who and you know more people because you follow this kind of stuff way work way more than I do.
I'll tell you a name or two that I would want to see end up with this car.
First Jay Leno.
I mean,
that's not a bad pick.
I don't think he would be interested in buying it, but it's not a bad pick.
Because one, he is going to drive it.
He may not drive it much, but he is going to drive.
He's not going to drive it the way King drove it, but he is going to drive it.
Right.
Oh, and he ain't going to he's not going to wrap it in bubble tape for like a better terms.
And that's a super important comment to make.
I agree completely.
That's who you'd want to see buy this.
Somebody who's not going to wrap it in bubble wrap and hide it in Dubai.
Exactly.
Maybe spiking them guys spike.
One of them dudes.
They may have that they could.
I mean, those guys got a bunch of money.
They could do it.
I'm trying to think who who.
Who has enough.
Who would I want to really see that with this car?
Hmm.
I'll tell you a cool person, even though.
The reason is his persona from his acting would make me want him to have this car.
But as a person, I don't know exactly who he really is.
I'm just going to put that on there.
And diesel having this car wouldn't hurt my feelings.
If he didn't wrap in a bubble wrap.
I don't know if he would fit in it.
Who would you think?
Who would you want to end up?
Who would you want to end up with this car?
Man, that's a great question.
That would be cool.
I think Lino is a really good candidate.
I think.
I think Ford would be a great candidate.
I think.
But they would, they would put it somewhere where you, it would never,
they would never start it again.
And now that's the reason.
Sure.
Sun, Sun King would be a great person to wind up with this car.
Hmm.
Brian Scott.
Oh, right.
I mean, that's that that's my instant name of like, if I had the money to buy
the car and give it to a person who deserves to own it and continue the legacy.
It'd be Brian Scott.
I'm not that guy.
I never will be.
And if I had the money to buy it, I'd just buy it for myself.
But, you know, but if somebody was going to be buying it and entrusting it to
an individual to do right by Ken's legacy and right by what that car is,
be Brian Scott.
It was the top of my list.
100%.
Okay.
For the record, since we've talking the current bid now is $200,000.
It went from 128 to 200 in that in the time that we were talking about it.
And I'm crazy.
Speaking of people who catch our attention on the YouTubes and because they do cool
things in cars.
One of the one of the.
In my opinion, the best dude, the best people out there right now during car
content on YouTube.
Your guy.
That's you.
I don't think you introduced me to him.
I think you made me like him more.
It's Camisa and I still think I'm saying his name wrong every time.
Am I saying his name wrong?
Jason Camisa.
Camisa.
I want me that Camisa.
So Jason Camisa at the good old Haggerty's and his Drag Race series.
If you haven't seen this video, I don't know why you're listening to this
podcast.
First of all.
It'd be a really weird subset of car enthusiasts that listens to us but doesn't
watch Haggerty.
Yeah.
Yeah.
World quickest car Corvette ZR1X versus Sapphire.
And they had the Golf R in that video and the BMW M2C S in that video.
Yeah.
Hurt all of our feelings.
Yep.
And on top of that, this was not a standard Drag Race where everybody
lined up right beside each other.
And we just all take off at the same time.
See who would get that at the end.
No, no, no, no, no.
They gave, they put the Golf R 300 feet back and let it get a run and start.
And they put the BMW 300 feet forward and gave it a head start.
And what happened?
I mean, it was just insanity is what happened.
Bro.
You know how we, we talk about fast cars and I'm one of the, I don't
really want to meet all my heroes kind of people.
You are, you want to meet every one of your heroes.
Bro, I knew that car, the ZR1X is fast.
I saw the numbers.
I watched the videos.
I knew, I knew the Lucid was fast.
I've seen the videos.
You have a Golf R.
That is pretty quick.
Speaking of which, is she back on the road?
Yes.
Awesome.
Awesome.
I'm a BMW guy.
These are two very, very, very, very, very quick cars.
Well, that's why I use them.
That's, I mean, that's, that was the whole point.
They were, they were recognizable, relatable benchmarks so that
you could be like, Good God, what's wrong with that Corvette?
Well,
that Corvette and that Lucid are so fast.
All right.
It should almost be illegal for you to drive those cars around, bro.
It's nobody needs cars that fast on the road.
It is a, you remember when the Hellcats and stuff first came out and
we made the joke that, that is,
that cars, those cars are going to be the death of a lot of people.
Yes.
I don't know.
I don't know which one is worse when it comes to that, that, that
no normal human should be able to allow to drive these cars on the road.
If that applies more to that Corvette or that, that Lucid, because
most of those cars, I think the Lucid makes the least amount of
sense on paper to just hand it over to people.
I feel like at least with the Corvette, most of the buyers are probably,
you know, ziplock bagging them in a garage somewhere.
I think I was going to go kind of down that road, but not exactly that.
I was going to say that most people see the Corvette and they know,
hey, I need to respect this, but they just don't understand how much
they need to respect it.
The Lucid just looks like a car.
Yes.
I mean, but anyway.
And then the worst and best part about all of this is
the cars essentially.
Tied.
Yeah.
Essentially.
Which is, which is pretty crazy because people said, well, that's it.
Electric winds, gas cars are never going to be that fast.
And guess what?
Ha.
This is.
The Corvette won the race and the Lucid won on its technicality.
Yeah, there you go.
That's right.
But I was really cool with, uh, we can, and we can talk about,
I think we, should we go through a, on another future episode,
let's go through the Hagerty Drag Races and kind of talk about
which one is the ones that kind of stand out to us the most.
I think it's a good idea.
We do, we'll do a whole episode on Hagerty Drag Races.
But yeah, but yeah, if y'all haven't seen this video, please go
and watch this video.
But, um, unfortunately, unfortunately it has been over an hour already
and we try to keep ourselves to the time limit.
That's right.
Bill, uh, we're going to do this again after you come back from,
uh, your vacation.
100%.
Yeah.
We'll have some island driving experiences to talk about.
Absolutely.
All right.
I love you brother.
I love you too, man.
Bye y'all.
Later.
