"That's. That's right. And it just, it's always boggled my mind because like, that's how it used to be. I remember Ferrari 1-2, Ferrari 1-2, Ferrari 1-2 and and and Schumacher and and and, you know, would be going hammer and Tong like they'd be going at it on the on the on the track, you know, pretty."

There's a professional radio. This front wheel drive so.
Have you got anyone you want to thank?
Just myself. And now I do the after hours,
gentlemen. What would you go for?
They see us in there OK, And because it's not a super duck, it is. It's not automatic.
Perfection comes in the form of 2 letters A&U.
Long live my Ltd. Robin the Car Talk it's choosing
here at 90.9 Northwest FM It's been Mary J online with Mr
Scotty Doe Johnson and all the way from the land of the rising sun. Mr Robert Zadai, how are you?
Good. Thank you.
How are we? Very good, very good.
How are you, Scotty? Well, doing well.
Thank you very much. Rob in Japan?
How are you? Fine in Japan?
Are you going to go back now you see why we like it so much?
I can see why you like it so much.
I just it does me hitting driving though it really does the speed limit. You do not know what the speed
limit is and when you can go a bit faster or then you get stuck beyond AK Car or another inbox. Bloody Hondas.
That's just rude. Yeah, so you get you get stuck,
you get stuck behind AK car and then you you try pulling out, they won't let you in. They're not very courteous.
But the ones that do come in do flash their lights hazards when they pull in front of you. Yeah, it just yeah, it's a funny
way of driving. It's a different way of driving.
And but so what's been your favourite part so far?
So tell us a little bit about your trip.
Well, we. We, Harley and I, drove from
Tokyo down to Nagoya. We stayed around there, went to
Liberty Wharf, as you've seen some of the photos, went to the Grand Prix, met piece of yeah, people.
There's a real big yeah as you know, a car culture here.
It has just been, how can I say it?
You, you don't know where to look.
So sort of the full on, yeah. We'll add you to the list, Rob.
Thank you. Add to the list.
Of people that go, Oh my goodness, where has this been all my life? Yeah, exactly.
Exactly. It should have been here a lot
sooner, 20 years earlier. It would have been good.
It would have been good. Well, you know, I can't wait to
go back, mate. It's it's just one of those
things. It's just, it's one of those,
you know, those places. It just, it gets out, it gets
under your skin. Like how cool.
It is the word. Yeah.
And then yes, yes. But yeah, I I love the cars
buzzing around for Osaka here. You get here in that night time
buzzing down the freeways and all the backfiring and.
Parked on the. Side streets and things like
that and just. It's.
Low key but it's everywhere if you know what I mean.
It's hard to explain. Well, I'm I'm super.
In Osaka. How long you there still for
still? Yeah, or we're flying out Friday
night, OK. So.
Not long. So, so, so when you're going to
go back or. Next week.
Next. The world, the world Expos on
here in a couple weeks. That'd be good.
I'm just disappointed I didn't come a couple weeks earlier so I could have gone skiing or snowboarding.
Yeah, yeah. But anyway, next time.
And you, I missed the first bit, but you went to the Toyota Museum in the Goya. We did go to Toyota Museum in
Aguaya. I was a bit disappointed with
that. I would have thought there would
have been more Toyotas. OK, OK.
And they had a lot of other cars and that the history of other cars. They had a lot of Toyota.
Crowns. They did OK, yeah.
You know, a couple of sleekers here and there, but they didn't really have some of the I don't know, I think there's a lot of cars they could have put in there.
I think, you know, maybe was there a super deer?
I can't remember if there's even a super deer to tell you True.
There were the 2 the new ones or two of them, the two new ones, but that's about it. None of the old school ones and.
OK. Yeah.
So they might move cars around, I don't know.
So which museum did you go to? There was the one just out of
the the Goya. There's one about here about
half an hour South. See, totally Toyota City
somewhere. It was like a there's two parts
to it where you walk across the street to where there's more toyaters. And then you when you first walk
in, there's a lot of Mustang, There's a Mustang, Mercedes Benz and a whole lot of other cars. Yeah.
Did you see the, did you see the James Bond car?
No, no, I was. Trying to find it so I don't
know. Maybe it's a museum.
Interesting. Yeah, interesting.
I'll send you a picture of where we went, but we're going down to Subway now, so I'm going to shoot off boys.
Good one. No worries.
Take care Rob, good to good to hear from you.
Bye. So this guy.
Hey. Hey, Prince, you have also
joined us. You're also away.
I'm also away. I'm not quite as far away as Rob
is. I've come across to the Apple
Isle for a week or so and came over on the boat on Monday, bought the car, doing a bit of a drive, a bit of a lap and yeah, it's fantastic down here. The roads are beautiful.
Weather's starting starting the last couple of days, so fingers crossed for the rest of it. Absolutely so.
So where whereabouts are you in now?
You currently. We're in ambition, which is on
the east northeast coast, so it's right on the water.
So we're heading down to Coles Bay Fraser National Park tomorrow. I'm going to don't pair of
waders and do a, an Oyster Co, an oyster discovery experience, OK, where you wade out into the water and they'd show you how they grow and they Shuck them out in the water and yeah, it's that should be fun. Looking forward to that.
Yeah. That, that, that will, that will
be fun, yeah. And then Dad a Hobart for a
couple of days, Bruny Island and then across to the West Coast and then home next Tuesday night.
And then you're off to the land of the rising sun.
Then I'm following up. We're rebalancing the the world
so that, you know, Rob comes back and I'll go up.
So yeah, that way everything keeps keeps in in order.
Is all this Japan talk makes me really want to get back there, like, ASAP, Like I'm just. And I suppose you're saying
they're like, take me back, Take me back, Yeah.
Yeah, everything you say. Just try and get a job there.
You should totally do that. Like you could.
You could, you could. You wouldn't have to commit to
moving there. You could just go for a couple
of years and see how you'd be cool.
Absolutely. Especially before you know it's
much harder than it than it than it would be now.
Oh yeah, it's definitely doable. I think it'd be very cool.
Yeah, yeah. Well, let's get on with some
kind of updates gentlemen. Scotty, you know you're on 1st
so Scotty know. Updates with you my friend.
My updates just kind of fall on today, really went around to my parents to fire up the 31. I just have to fix a little
coolant leak because I didn't really tighten it up enough so it was kind of leaking, so I'll fix that.
That seems to be OK. Seems to kind of seep just a
tiny bit. You see a little bit of green,
but no drips or anything. So it'll do for now.
I did order another radiator top hose just in case I'll have a spare one sitting around. Excellent.
Thanks. Cheap insurance?
Yep. Took it out for a bit of a drive
the because I changed that accelerator cable.
It was really sensitive, very notchy.
So as soon as you start moving, it was kind of like kind of jerky, jerky at the beginning. I fixed that, so that's fine
now. We've got to do that wiring,
Scotty. We'll have to do that in the
next week or so. Yep, it drove.
It drove fine. It didn't didn't seem to
overheat. Kept all the coolant in the
reservoir, which is good. Yeah, it's a good start.
It's. A good scenario I'd say.
Yeah. So that's good.
That's a good start, handled nicely.
The I noticed the annoying thing because it's got that heads up display thingy that had to get attached because the Speedo doesn't work on the actual dash itself.
It's kind of like a silvery chromey design to it.
The sticker, when it puts up there onto the window and what I noticed is if there's a bit of sunlight that shines in, it blinds you, so that's cool. Right.
The great, great feature that they've got there, it's really hard to read. I don't really know what speed
I'm doing, so that's great too. For some reason it looks like it
it's reading properly, facing the right way, but then all of a sudden sometimes it like looks like it's mirrored or upside down or something. If you're doing 40 or something
like that, I can't read it. But then when I get to 100 I can
read it fine. It's like fine again.
I can read it normally but before that stuff to find out what I'm doing speed wise it makes no sense but.
I thought if it was. Speedo fix that would solve the
problem wouldn't? It it would, but you know, since
it's manual now, it's a little bit tricky.
I've got to find the right plug able and.
Yeah. There's so many mixed messages I
can't. I can't find the part.
I think that's where I'm at. I can't find the part, so all I
want is the original one that came from an auto that would plug in there, and I can't find one because I'm accidentally thrown it away. Yeah, that one piece that I was
meant to keep that was in the transmission, I thought I kept the right piece, but I kept the wrong.
Piece not idea. Yeah, I.
Thought I had the right piece but I didn't so a bit of a let down there I'm. Sure, you'll be able to still
get one. Yeah, I just don't know.
Just don't know where I'm trying to find it.
It looked like I found the right piece, but it looks different.
And the piece that I've got that I that I did save that I've got hanging off that I've just I've got cable tied up at the moment doesn't seem to fit in the same spot.
So I'm I'm confused because everyone says the auto and the manual ones are exactly the same and even when I saw her on YouTube video clip person just went and plugged in the same 1 and it works. So.
Oh. Yes, I'm a little bit confused
as to what I've done there, but. Couldn't have been rooted the
wrong way through the through the engine back.
Yeah, it's the the plug at the end is just is different.
It won't. So I'm a little bit, a little
bit baffled, confused because a lot of these transmissions were used in all kinds of different skylines, whether there are 30 ones that are in 30 twos that are in NA-30 threes.
So she knows maybe the plugs were a bit different or I, I don't know. Surely that that'd be, that'd be
like, it couldn't be that hard, could it?
Like, really? Yeah, I just I it's bugging me
because I just can't solve it or find a piece that matches or looks the same. I can't find what it is that
I've got hanging underneath the car.
What is this plug I've got? Where does it meant to go to
originally? Is it just a solenoid plug that
I've got or something? Or is there a piece missing for
it to screw in? Or is it something that's in the
spot that I've got there now that I've got to unscrew and then I screw this in? I'm just, yeah, a bit unsure on
that one. So I've just kind of cable tied
it up for now and left it aside. Yeah, I gave it a Washington as
well. It looks, looks pretty good from
a distance, but then when you get up a bit close, it's got some because it's white. It's got these dirt marks on it
and they don't come out. You can sit down and scrub,
scrub, scrub, scrub, scrub, but they don't come out.
Have you tried bumping your back?
Yeah, I assume if I got like a cut and Polish, it might the paint, you know, the paint doesn't feel the best, you know, when the paint starts to get that kind of chalky.
Yeah. Yeah, it's kind of at that
limit. So, you know, I'll probably test
it out, maybe on the bonnet. Did it come up?
Did it? Come up with a buff I reckon,
Scotty. I could.
I haven't really sat there and gave it a good buff.
I'll probably try it out on the bonnet because the bonnet's pretty stuffed anyway, so I'm not too fussed if if I make it worse or something. That's probably the worst part
where it's got these dirt patches that just don't don't come off. Probably just needs to be cut
in, cut in a little bit and buff, try and buff it out or something. But yeah, I can give that a go a
little bit closer. Even claybarrigant might make a
difference. Yeah, yeah, it pulls some stuff
out of it. True.
Yeah, I didn't think of that. Yeah, yeah, I'll have to give
that a go. Yeah, I didn't think of that
one. Just trying to tidy it up a bit.
Ready for May the 4th? May the fourth be with you.
Yeah, I'm about to pay. Hey now.
Yeah. It reminds me I'm going to do
that before I go awaken. Oops.
Hey. It's going to be official.
I'm putting it in right now. Nice.
So the skyline will be on to that.
I gave the blade awash as well. Cleaned that up, got a guy
coming out and he's going to fit the inner CV boot for me.
Oh cool, so he's going to come to me and do that because a place I was going to take it to said no, we're not going to do that. Will only will fit a whole new
drive shaft. Because.
You might have got some dirt and stuff in there and we don't want to warrant, you know, we warrant stuff and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
No, I guess. And you said I'm prepared to
check that risk, I'd rather pay. A yeah, I was like, but yeah, I
was like, but I don't really care.
Like it'll be, it'll be fine. It hasn't been that long and you
know, it'll still last a good amount before I get another, a whole new axle or something. So I don't know.
I thought that was silly, but the other guy's like, yeah, come out bang. We'll put it together in no
time. Perfect.
That's good. Yeah, I had him come out.
I've used him once before. He used to actually own a blade
as well, so. Oh.
Right. OK, cool.
Yep. He knows what he's doing.
He's good. He works on all the Japanese
cars, so he'll come out and do that in pretty quick.
He seems to have a tool that you use that expands that, yeah, and stretches over the top so you don't pull the whole thing apart or anything. So.
Great. So you should have that done
pretty quick. And then yeah, that's that
should be about it. I think that's when we cast off.
David Prince Not a lot to. Report I tried to drive
everything I had in in the garage, in the driveway and in the garage before I came away and before I put everything away and put a cover on it. I did.
I picked the Civic, the Grand Prix Civic up and went to drive off some quite a hill and I and sort of, I was reversing out of the car space and then went to, went to sort of turn into the street. There was no traffic coming and
the car didn't roll. And I thought that's not good.
You know, I drove off and sort of released a bit and then I, I just pulled up again and took off the brake and didn't roll.
But OK. So by then I've been dropped off
at the place and I mean home's only about a kilometre and a half. I thought, do I leave it here
again all night and just leave it till it hard, blow it, I'll take it home. So I took it home to put in the
garage while I'm away. And yeah, but I rang them the
next day and said no, you're going to have to have this back.
And when I come back, so it's something's too tight and binding in the right hand rear wheel.
So we'll sort, we'll get that sorted out when I get back.
What do you think it might be? Well, they, they said they, they
said the shoes were fine. The rear was, they'd replaced
the rear wheel cylinder and it leaked all through the through the drum itself. Oh, OK, so they've cleaned it
all out and all that sort of thing, put it all back together, 22 new rear wheel cylinders. And yeah, but it's obviously
something's adjusted too tight or something.
But yeah, but now, you know, put in the issue with it, Maddie's in my garage. It's like a, oh, you've seen my
garage, She's got it. Actually.
It's like a bit like a, like a game of Tetris trying to get cars in there. So I usually just stop and push
them in. And yeah, I could barely push
it. So yeah, that's not right.
That's all right. So yeah, that's a pain.
I've got to take that back. That car up and just hold it one
hand and place it somewhere. Exactly right, exactly it.
Should be able to move it easy. Actually it wasn't a great week
for cars because I had my son's Commodore waggon in having the the Togo release button looked at again because that seems to work independently. And of course, they rang me and
said it seems you're working fine currency, there's nothing wrong with it. And I said, well, it wasn't
working the other day. Yeah.
Yeah, it seems you're working. Fine, he said, you know, this
might be a dumb question, but he knows about the two the two stage unlocking, doesn't he? He knows you press it once and
now he unlocks the driver's door.
That one said yes, yes, we know about that.
You know, like, and I thought to myself, I'm sure I told him about that. I'm sure he knows about that.
Yes. He he said to you something
about that. So yeah.
So let's just start. Yeah, so we got it home, of
course. And he was actually driving my
94 Accord last week while I had the Commodore being fixed and he was having his haircut in a court in Knoxville last week came out and the recorder panel was all pushed in on the Accord.
So the garbage truck had just been around the court and done the garbage bin. So he reckoned to the garbage
truck hit it. So he's been in touch with the
council and they've said, yes, we will reply within 20 days because we will have, we have, they know which truck it was and they go through the footage, the camera footage and stuff.
So yeah, if I suppose if they, I don't know whether they'll admit that they did it or not, but he certainly didn't, didn't do it.
He wasn't like that in the morning anyway, so the the side of that's pushed in now, which is not ideal.
And then we got the Commonwealth all home and he came to pick it up and the tailgate still doesn't work.
So it was a big fat waste of waste of a week.
How does that actually happen? Like, I don't know, I don't
understand. Like he.
Said we've opened it and shut it.
We've opened it and shut it, you know, 10 times.
And I so, you know, I'm wondering, am I putting too, you know, we're not putting enough pressure on a certain part.
And I thought, no, it shouldn't be that hard.
You can feel a switch, you can hear it wanting to, you can hear the solenoid, but it just doesn't release.
So it stays shut. So you've got to climb in and
release it manually with a screwdriver through the little.
Oh my God. Yeah.
Not ideal when you've got a six month old baby.
And you know, crabs and all that sort of stuff to load in.
So that's really annoying. Anyway, I did see somebody on
Sunday that I was talking to and I saw Maddie, that guy who was a friend of Hayden's, he was talking.
Oh yeah, they go all the time. It's really easy.
You just replace the switch and it, you know, that's, that's the no problem. Well, no one I've spoken to has
ever heard of it being a no problem until this guy.
So it's almost might be worth taking down Geelong to to get him to have all. Couldn't get it sorted.
But yeah, that's annoying. So but the highlight of my
automotive week was like catching up with Mr Matty J on Sunday at the all four day. No, no, it was, it was
fantastic. I I unexpectedly got to stick my
nose in there because I happened to be in Geelong waiting to come down to Tassie on the boat the next day.
And yeah, I'd never been to an all four day.
So as I put on the Grammar, I'm I'm sort of fly fire bleak car guy now, evidently because I've been to an all four day.
So yeah, that was great though. We had a really good time and
Matt filled in a lot of my my blanks in my knowledge, bumped into a few people I know, saw some amazingly cool cars and yeah, I just missed colour. There was so many, so much
colour down there, all the 70s colours and all the 80s colours and stuff. It was fantastic.
But. Yeah, but you know what they're
like, like we're talking about that.
But then like Ford and and GM really in the in the 2000s, that's true. That was true.
Like they did. And you know, it's something.
Any Tiger, Micra and Hothouse Green Commodore writer will tell you they did, didn't they? I like a hothouse colour.
Hothouse is actually a really cool colour.
It's a great colour, but all those forward colours, we were talking a lot about the names, weren't we?
The colours and the especially the ones that actually don't have any bearing on actually what the colour is.
They're the cool ones, yeah. Bionic.
Bionic. So, you know, that was, that was
really good, yeah. It was, it was a good day.
It was actually really good to see to see you there.
I mean, I I missed most of the show.
I got there got there kind of late and but yeah, it was it was a highlight singer as well, Mr Mr Prince.
But we we got to see your friend Hayden's car all done and.
Yeah, and Hayden's El Femme looked amazing and the paint was. I did, wasn't going before my
hand on it. I reckon the paint still might
have been a bit tacky. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
It was a good day. It was actually it was, it was
and then it then it rained right at the end and and all the.
So just right at the end, we were two busy guests banging for 10 minutes too long, weren't we? Well, you know, it was, it was
worth it though. It was.
It was definitely good to catch up.
There's some really cool cars. Yeah.
Just just plenty, plenty of highlights, like things everywhere that you could just just keep looking at and not looking at. And you were just like you.
You don't know where, where, where to stop.
So that, that was good. I I did.
I did really did enjoy that day. And it was good.
It was good to see you there, Mr Prince.
Good to be saying mate, thanks. We're also joined by Mr Turbo
Terry himself, Mr Anthony Falk, how you doing?
Yeah, not too bad mate. I mean, I'm actually can hear
me. Yeah, Yep.
Yep, Yep. Cool, cool.
No, I just got got a single headphone in and got the other end listening to the from the new addition to the family.
So yeah, busy, busy times in the household as you can imagine.
Cool. So I wanted to congratulate you
mate. You know, Congrats on the on the
on the little 1 little little. Congratulations, Great.
Congratulations mate. Thank you very much.
Thank you very much. Is 3 weeks old as of yesterday.
So yeah, very new, very new to the world and very chaotic in the house, as you can imagine. Yep.
Yep. Yeah.
No. How's everybody been going?
What's what's been happening? We'll be good mate, just
checking in on on you and and what's been happening with you mate. It's been a bit of while since
I've had you on. Obviously new additions of the
family big. That's a big bit of a big, big
car update. Yeah, yeah, now, now got a car
seat. Yeah.
Pretty pretty much the the update, you know, the the stroller does fit in the back of the cars, you know, you know, make sure everything still secure in there.
A little bit different, the normal sort of updates on the car, but yeah. That's still in the territory.
No, it's in the in the other half, she's got a Everest.
So she's the one who's got the daily or the main mover, I should say. I mean, it's not that she
doesn't like the territory, but at the same time.
So yeah, we know how it goes with the other half.
It's too fast for Anthony. Oh exactly that.
Yeah, again, not, not as refined and as well rounded as as modern cars that. But also also nowhere near as
fun so but we'll already. Know by people when you're as
fun. It's a the fact, the fact that
you had a territory that's surprisingly very fast.
It's it just makes life a lot, a lot better.
So just. As.
Long as we don't worry about the economy on the territory.
Who and who would do that? Nobody.
No. No, absolutely not.
Absolutely not. Other than that mate, that's the
same old status quo. You obviously had to had to sort
me out with some some batteries because the battery ended up getting itself not that long ago under warranty.
So you know very basic maintenance change over there.
Good. The ground wasn't driven for
long enough, so that battery also shooted itself unfortunately outside of warranty to sort it out a just a remote battery disconnect, just an eBay special.
It was like 30 bucks which uses point like .001 of an amp to
disconnect just for the seldom times that I do utilise the crown. So hopefully it does preserve
the battery a little bit longer in the short term for the moment until I sort of work out what I'm going to do on the car front sides of things. So.
Yeah. So did you say?
On the crown, have you got a crown as well?
Yes, I've got a 1984 Toyota Crown.
Nice, nice. Yeah, yeah.
So I've had that one there for how long ago?
How long we had it for now, Matt?
Probably 7. Years.
Eight years. Yeah.
Genuine. Yeah, eight years.
Mine, you've done 5000 KS in that time and it's being held together with chemi Weld, but it still, it still turns over, it still starts, it still drives, Yeah.
Nice. But that was one, Yeah.
So that was 1 owner from new with receipts from the day she purchased it. Oh wow.
Brilliant. Yeah, so I mean the the
outside's a bit rough and bit paint fady, but other than that, you know, it's the blue interior that's all original A.
Lot of guide to trim those interiors.
Yeah, Oh, there's lot. The worst part is I've got
basically a spare dismantled crown sitting in my garage for spare parts in case I need it that I picked up at the same time for like 200 bucks. And I'm not not kidding when I
say it's basically a whole dismantled crown.
I've got interior door trims, I've got body panels, I've got quarter panels, bonnets, boots and, and the garlic bases like I, I just need to get rid of it. So if you're, you know, 200
bucks and bring a trailer and and a, you know, car that can make it work. And literally we just jammed it
all that I had no idea what I was buying at that time because I was only, I was only after one part, mind you, from him.
It's just like, look, to be honest.
Oh, look, it it wasn't it wasn't even that.
I think like the part might have been like, even then, he was still selling the part for like 100 bucks.
So it's just like, yeah, give me another 100 bucks and you can have everything. Yeah.
So I was just like, I can't really say no to that.
The first house we bought back, oh, many, many years ago now the, the, we bought the whole conference of the house for an extra $1000 because they had a piano.
My wife plays the piano and she said I'd really like the piano.
So we said, oh, do you think we could write the piano?
And he said better than that. And he said, I'll, I'll, I'll
let you know. So I've still still got the
ladder that was in the garage and his house like 30 years later, but. If it works, it works.
It's not not silly, that's for sure.
Exactly. You know, let's be honest, it
saves on moving. Do you want to get rid of any of
those bits? I haven't really looked into it
to be honest. I look, I'm probably, I'm not
opposed to it. I know the other half,
definitely not opposed to it. I'm I'm probably a little bit
more open to it nowadays because of how seldom I do drive the crown and I'm there is a bit of me that's so I can't remember that I've mentioned Dave to you the the the initial thought on the crown. So my old man had two of them so
that was when I end up buying this one here.
I did have a FG XR6 Turbo U yeah, that was written off that my plan was actually to Chuck the engine in the crown because.
The because the the Crown's engine.
The Crown's engine has. Because it's because, yeah, the
obviously because of the the health of the engine, it was that was a bit of a consideration.
And the size of the engine bays in the 80s, cars have a lot of, a lot of room to play. But you know, as it always is,
it's a little bit more money than cents.
And obviously, as it always is, once little one comes along, it's like real, let's be honest, the reality of it actually happening is probably very slim, unfortunately.
So it was then a bit of the case of, well, I'm not necessarily opposed to letting the crown go at the moment because of how little I've been using it. But beforehand I used to be the
case of no, you know, all the spare parts.
I need to hold on to it just for the rare occasion of anything going on. The really rare occasional
needle right hand rear door trim.
Exactly, exactly. Or, you know, the, the more,
more seldom the case of, you know, somebody happens to, you know, somewhat, you know, open the door into mine and then I've got a, you know, spare one that's sitting there and bumper bars and everything else. And you know, here we are now
just clarifying six years later and hasn't been touched.
Just clarifying, you've got, you've got, you've got another motor with it too, right? So, so like what we can, we can.
Also, I, I did end up I, it's actually been a while since I've done that and I really need to contact my mechanic.
That too. It's been sitting in his garage
for a long time. Probably it would have been over
12 months now. I end up buying an engine and a
transmission from a guy out in and absolutely would have been a I'll just say one of my clientele will go will go down that path for one of those sorts of individuals.
Mind you, it's meant to have I think 180,000 KS on the engine and the transmission, but it was more the case of because they're so hard to come by and this is a single overhead Cam as opposed to the dual overhead cams as well because mine's a single as well. I just wanted to make it just a
simple and out sort of changeover.
It was more just the case of I've already driven this far out, you know, 500 bucks or 500 bucks, even if it's not gonna be ideal, there'll be something I'll be able to make work out of it. But I didn't even try and crank
it or anything like that until I then got to my mechanics and then we tried to turn it over. I think it got about 1/3 of the
way around before it then was making contact somewhere along the lines. And I did say to him, you know,
to do a very, very soft inspection.
You know, even if it's like disconnect the trends and just make sure that's not engaged or anything like that where it's not too intrusive to, to inspect and assess.
But I never actually followed up with him, and I don't actually think he's done that either. But I think you're ringing me,
he'll say. Oh, you'll be ready next Friday.
Yeah, exactly that. Exactly that.
But you know, mind you, it's still sitting in the corner of his shop and it's like, I really just need to get in, get in contact with him and let him know, you know, see if he's done anything further on it. But ideally would be that it's
just the symbol, change the engine out and you're good to go. But still, part of me is just
like, I think I might be clutching a bit of straws there in the hope. You never know.
You never know. And again, it's still an older
car, still an older engine. So, you know, fixes can be
simple. Yeah, compared to this day and
age. So I am still hopeful, a bit
delusional, but still hopeful. And we'll see.
We'll sort of see what sort of comes from it.
But yeah, it would be ideal if it would then be Chuck the engine in, don't have the head gasket issue going on for it anymore, no longer held together with chemi Weld and actually get to, you know, probably drive a little bit more than what I am.
But it's still it it I've still had it for a long enough time that I've enjoyed it for what it is, even though I've only done 5000 KS in it over that time. But I mean, mind you, still to
this day, I haven't actually serviced it.
I haven't done any level of maintenance on it.
It's literally just been sat there, drive down to the shops, go down to the car show and then come back home.
So, I mean, it's it does need love, but it's still chugging away, just like an old lady's car does, still running on the oily rag. Bring it to Sakura Picnic.
May the fourth I've. Lost you on my end of things.
Yeah, well, well, funny, funny story about Secure Picnic, but might want to reiterate this one.
Oh, OK, here we go. So it was, it was actually the
the first year I had the crown. And I'm actually gone and taken.
It from yes, yeah, that was the head guess.
About Maddie. Yeah, that, that's the head
gasket on, on, Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, but these days, I mean, I mean, I'm a lot closer to to secure a big pick these days. So I mean, it's definitely
something that I can can attend. I just don't know whether I'd be
able to attend for as long as the event goes for.
But still, regardless, there's always a catch.
I have worse case. I just park on the outskirts and
people can have a look and then I can still leave.
But no, I'll I'll definitely I have to pencil it in.
I mean, worst case, I might might be there in a in another form if I'm if I'm working. Yeah, I'm sure that's that's a
part of my my daddy with you these days.
Son, with you, I worked out really early.
I can do whatever. I could do whatever I wanted to
as long as I took the kids. Oh, yeah, yeah, No, I look good.
I don't. I don't think that's an issue
with, with dragging her down. I've got a daughter, by the way,
or anything like that. No, no, that's all right.
I'll still drag her down anyway. She's going to get stuck with
it. But I mean, yeah, still, even
even for a little bit of a, you know, trip down and that's still fine. That's just more in the case of
as long as I'm not working, yes, that's more the case.
But with me, my work these days, you know, there's I'm in the general vicinity with my profession.
So there's also a very high chance of me being tasked to do regular Dr Bys of the city event in different attire.
But pencil it in, get a little bit of a head start on it.
Absolutely, that's good mate, updates with me that's.
Pretty much it. Updates with me I've the laser
is going in tomorrow to get its gearbox put in so I picked that up last week finally it's done so I've got to getting put in tomorrow so that's going in tomorrow to get its its gearbox put in I've got a new clutch to go along with it because like the clutch in it's fine but I just would you know the clutch was like 180 bucks so I was like whatever I just just do it once all properly yeah the guy at the shop was like don't don't break the gearbox he's like it took me forever to find the parts and I'm in my head I'm like you know I could have found him in 5
minutes and you just but anyway I kind of just bit my tongue and said OK no worries so. You'll see him in another
300,000 KS. Yeah, yeah, I'll, I'll speak to
him then. I was so, so frustrated.
So that's that'll go in tomorrow.
I'm still going to figure out how the hell I'm going to get home from that, but that's another story.
Then I've got the MR2 going in next week to get its remain done. New clutch talking about all
those bits and pieces I've been gathering together for a while.
So I'll put that together next week.
And yeah, that's pretty much it. On my car updates, I think I've
haven't really done much else. I've never had time.
I've had a busy, few busy few days.
So, but yeah, went to, went to all four day with Mr Prince, saw some really cool cars. So yeah, some, some cars that I,
I'm a big, big fan of in terms of like the Cosworths and the the Escorts and the Laser take 3 turbos and there's some really lovely original lasers there. And so, yeah, it was, it was, it
was a nice little event, big event.
Actually. It's a massive event.
But yeah, as I was driving into July, I just saw them all driving out. I'm like, yeah, I've missed most
of this. So I was just keeping it on.
What was driving past you the opposite way?
I was like, oh, feeling, oh, this all that.
So, but no, really, really cool. Moving on to tonight's topic,
gentlemen, Neil, I asked our viewers to ask us questions.
Or we have viewers. Yeah.
Hi, Mom. What's her question?
What time are you coming out for dinner?
No, it's so we got a few questions.
I asked on on the face balls and I asked on the Instagrams, you know, if you've got any questions, we'll, we'll put them through start covering them as we as we go along.
This one's from Brett Spain. Brett Spain asks how did the
deal with Autobahn and trust slash gritty get organised one of life's greatest mysteries. You know, I don't know this.
I've you know, I haven't really dealt with dealt with either either of them. But Scott, you, you did work at
at Autobahn 4 for a moment. Yeah.
I mean, I was hoping you could, you could have some insight into actually what happened there. I wish I did have insight but
I've I've got nothing. There was no nothing.
The programmes that they used computer wise to try and look up parts is ancient. It honestly looks like Ms DOS.
Like seriously, that's exactly what it looks like.
There's no way to really look up parts properly.
If it makes you feel any better, the system that I use at my work is basically still Ms DOS just for just for amusement sides of things. It's basically a similar sort of
premise, just for amusement. Their their whole thing was if
it's fix it. Look, the only way I could find
things is through catalogues. Yeah.
Wow. That's the only way I could find
part numbers and things like that.
And just searching the Internet to see if we did have it and type in a a part number or something and see if something popped up. I don't know if it's changed
now. I mean, it's been a while, but
that's just the way it was. Yeah.
We didn't really stock much of it in there.
You'd still have to order quite a lot.
Not sure where it where it came, where it would come from.
Yeah. So I can't fill in too much on
there of how they got that connection.
But, you know, I mean, they got a pretty good selection of of, you know, certain parts and things that you'd kind of want anyway from some big brands and stuff.
Yeah. Kind of reminds me of a guy that
called up that wanted a, he wanted a blower valve.
And I went, OK, yeah, got some in stock.
What? What?
And I go, what car's it for? He goes Nah.
Just, you know, have you got one?
I go yeah, but like a car like you just keep cracked it at me like I was in the wrong, like oh, you know nothing about cars and hung up. It's like, oh, OK, mate, but I
mean, it's not one size fits all, but you know, whatever.
Yeah, I was like, what an idiot. What, he's just going to come in
and buy one and just slap it on or something?
It's not how it works. No, he just wanted to put it on
his, on his mantelpieces. There it is.
It's. Straight to the I found one,
someone went someone who had one in stock.
It's like, yeah, I mean, I've got certain ones, but you know, you need an adapter and that for it, but.
Yeah. I know supposedly you don't.
I'm in the wrong, so whatever the fucks he's buying.
But yeah, the system's backwards.
We had stacks, like, I mean stacks and stacks of catalogues, just all under the table and stuff.
That's how I had to try and search through and find stuff.
That's why super cheap, so much better.
They dominate in that aspect. Yeah, they're pretty good.
Not not saying that because I worked there, but yeah, it's.
Yes, you. Are it is because I can look
things up pretty pretty easily. So, so sorry, bro.
We'll have to get Adrian back on the show because Adrian might have a bit of a bit more insight on that, yeah.
Yeah, he worked there a lot longer so.
He did. Yeah, absolutely he did.
Yeah. The next one's from the Thea.
The Thea asks what's your kebab order?
So that's it's and it's a, it's a car related question because everybody in cars goes and gets kebabs.
I'm a very simple kind of guy. I'm a I'm a lot garlic sauce,
but I put hummus as a oh, hummus for a bit of extra, extra texture. I'm a hummus guy.
So and that and that mixed that with the garlic sauce.
Well, chef's kiss and I get mix. I also get mixed meat too.
So, Mr Turbo Terry, you're a kebab guy or?
I certainly am, whether it be the the HSB or whether it be the kebab boys get you covered. No, normally it's a just the
traditional extra garlic sauce or could be extra garlic sauce with bit of lemon and chilli flakes always go as well as well to change up a little bit. And then just obviously got to
go the Holy Trinity when it comes to a good hosp.
So your chilli, your garlic and BBQ sauce.
So just the staples. But again, it's always got to be
either either lamb at a minimum if it's just on its own.
Otherwise it's always mixed. Absolutely.
David Prince, are you a you a Batman or a souvlaki man?
That's the first. That's the first.
Question. Oh, well, you see that's was
going to be my question. That was going to be my question
to say I'm a souvlaki guy. So do you call it?
Do you think they're interchangeable?
No, they're they're completely different.
They're completely different, aren't they?
That's right. That's right.
And then add the EUR into there as well.
Yep. So and, and you've got and then
you've also got shawarma, which is like slightly different again. Oh, that's right.
That's right. Looks so lucky.
It's got to be land. And I actually swapped the salad
sauce out for the Adama. Oh, OK.
All right. An extra lemon.
Extra lemon over the top. Yep.
Yeah. I like it.
I like it. Scotty Doe.
Mine's kind of the same as Mr Terry Turbo.
If it's HSP, you've got to have the Trinity 3 sauces.
I'm kind of yeah, garlic sauce, got to have that.
I tend to just stick to lamb, though.
I'm a bit of a lamb guy, so stick to the lamb.
If it's souvlaki, there's this awesome place in Craigieburn.
They do like an open souvlaki. Billy's Blvd, I think it was
called, and just these massive chunks of lamb.
I think it should be Blvd, shouldn't it?
And it's like, oh, it's just so good and.
It's got to be over the coals. It's got to be cooked over the
coals. None of this frying on on your
on your fry grill, grill, fry grill thing.
Yeah, over the coal, over the coals.
Absolutely, there you go. And a few others are kebab
orders. What time's he dropping them
around? Yeah, I know exactly, exactly
right. Yours won't be cold, but I guess
they don't do it. Maybe will be.
Jeremy Koch asks. Do you guys discuss Formula One?
We have done when we do? If so, Red Bull's second, second
car, what the Hell's going on there and how is the season going so far in our perspective? It's a good question.
Yeah. So we do discuss Formula One,
Jeremy. Absolutely.
We do the the Red Bull second car.
What is going on there? It's just like, it's just, it
feels like it's musical chairs at the moment.
Really. Yeah, it really.
Does. I'm happy to to kick it off on
my absolutely get in there. They didn't really give Liam
Lawson no, but I think from what they've had seen, I don't think he was going to improve. OK.
Through qualifying and things like that.
I think they kind of rushed him in there.
I don't think, Yeah, I feel like he just got rushed in there a bit too quick. And you could see Yuki Sonoda in
their in their in their second cars were already outperforming him anyway. When it shouldn't be.
Should be the other way around, watching Japan.
You know. Watch Watching Japan Scotty, Did
you see what they drove around? What the drivers were in and on
the parade lap. No, I didn't see the parade S.
Six 60s. S6 sixties.
Sorry I I interjected. Sorry.
That's OK. So what David Prince actually
trying to say? See my engine's in a driven
driving driven by Formula One. Correct, Correct.
It's basically an Aston Martin in disguise.
It's a Formula One car. I know it is.
I know it. Sorry, sorry, sorry.
There's a couple theories. I, I think one of them that
sounds a little bit more realistic is that it's a hard car to drive because it's kind of set up more towards Verstappen style of driving. And from what they've been
saying, it's really, really snappy.
There's a lot of downforce on the front and not as much on the back, so the back can kind of kick out a little bit more, which which they're not used to, all the other drivers aren't used to, and very snappy in turnings when turning in, which is kind of made specifically for, yeah.
Because he, he, he, he likes the car that's a bit loose, doesn't he? Like, he really likes it.
Yeah, yeah. And, and actually a lot of like,
really good drivers prefer a loose car.
Like they, they, they feel like they can, they can play with it a bit more and yeah, make it, make it dance on the limit.
So, so yeah, it's it, it would make it a harder car to drive for people that that aren't used to that essentially.
And I think that's why they're probably struggling with it.
And Daniel Ricardo likes that style, too, and that's why he was pretty good in that Red Bull back then as well.
I don't think anyone's really been able to compete that well in that vehicle. I don't know what, I don't know
what they're going to do. They they need to.
I feel they need to help these second drivers out a bit.
Yeah. No, mould it around them a
little bit more because if you watch Japan, it was just, you know, Max Verstappen all the way and no one else there.
I, I do wish maybe with McLaren, they let Piastry kind of move forward. I feel like Piastry could have
gotten first. It could have been a good
possibility and pushed him out. But I think they just kept it
the way it was because even the actor said, hey, I think Lando Norris should probably pick up the pace now because we're running out of laps. And then they replied back
saying that he has, but still not fast enough.
And then obviously if you're stuck behind someone for a while, it wears out your ties and you've got to back off yourself, which is kind of what what happened in that instance.
But I mean, once you've got a Red Bull in front, it's all over for you. They are fantastic when there's
no cars. If no cars in front of them,
that's when they're just handle. On fire.
Yeah, on fire, precisely. But if you notice in the past
races, if they're the behind other cars and things like that, not that great. They struggle a bit in the
turbulent air I think. And I think that's because
Verstappen likes that real front end downforce.
You're going to lose quite a bit of that with the turbulent air between them. So it's interesting season.
I'm actually pretty pumped for this season, even though the Japan race was a wee bit boring. Not much happened there, not
really any overtaking. But I honestly couldn't say
who's in line to win this world championship.
Definitely not Ferrari though. Question Neil, I know second
drivers have always been considered, you know, the second best in, in, in existence. But I were a few years ago like
your, your Eddie Irvine's, your, your, your Rubens Barricello.
They were always, you know, they, they were pushing to go to, you know, to, to be the number one driver.
So, so they would always be, you know, try and be real competitive. I just feel in the last 10 or so
years, like we haven't really seen that, that like that, that second, that second driver, you know, like it's all the focus on Max or all the focus on, on, yeah, Hamilton, you know, on the number one, like you, you, if you want to win the constructors and you want to win all these other things, wouldn't you want to try to push your best outcome for both like that?
That's. That's right.
And it just, it's always boggled my mind because like, that's how it used to be. I remember Ferrari 1-2, Ferrari
1-2, Ferrari 1-2 and and and Schumacher and and and, you know, would be going hammer and Tong like they'd be going at it on the on the on the track, you know, pretty.
Much like McLaren are now at the moment, correct.
Yeah, so. Drivers are on point.
Yeah. And I feel the way they've done
those cars is they set it out for both drivers.
So do you think, do you think like, and it's an it's an issue because like, let's say, for example, I mean, I'm, I'm not saying that Max is not an incredible driver.
He is like he's, he's he's won what, 4IN Iranian.
He's an, he's an incredible, he's an incredible, you know, driver, but you're putting all your eggs in one basket if you ask me. So for example, like if he
crashes out. Oh, OK, Actually we probably
probably should just kind of like, you know, make sure our second driver is, you know, in the points at least.
But I just feel like that's really kind of it.
It, it kind of makes it a bit hard to to for your second driver to stay motivated if it's like, oh, well, but the pressures off because I have to perform because Max is doing all the work. But now you're seeing like
they're just musical cheering the second driver.
So it's, I don't know, I think it's a bit, yeah, I think it's a bit unfair. I think it's a bit weird.
And I like it when you know, your teammate was your teammate.
Like, you know, you there was not turmoil, but like there was rivalry in in, in your team, but like good rivalry, you know, like you do for the team. Then OK, you guys are so far
ahead in front. All right, Just just race.
Don't don't crush each other. But just yeah, you know, make it
fun, you know, and, and that's, and that's something that that I that's been missing, you know, in.
I think most teams are like that, but Red Bull never really were. It was all about that one their
one main driver all the time. Is that what Ricardo kind of
left is is is it? Do you recognise the recognise
the main? Reason, Yeah, yeah, because he
was always considered second. You can't really pass Max.
I think that was that was probably during the phase of Max's kind of not right dodgy style of defending.
Yeah. And there's a lot of lot of
things that happened during that time.
That's how they created the new rule, pretty much like the Max Verstappen rule, defending the way he was doing it.
Yeah. I feel like it's it's really a
Red Bull thing because every other team's fine with it.
McLaren's fine with it. You know, they've had Zac Brown
on there quite a few times saying I let we let them race, you know, but as long as they're not going to be silly or anything like that, we just let them go at it and they race.
They're fine with it. You know, you got some other
teams probably do it but end up in some crashes that have happened in the past. Alpine I think not the best.
Aster Martin with little Lancey Stroll.
He's become a name, hasn't he really at this point?
He really is, yeah. With how he got into Formula
One's, interesting interesting story of how how he got in there into Formula One's and before he got into Formula One's how he actually won some championships were actually paid, paid for paid for winning championships before he got into Formula One thanks to his dad really buying a find the companies.
Good old dad, Good old. Yeah, but that's how it was, I
guess, back in the day, wasn't? It upbeat him, by him.
Yeah, well, that's it. That's exactly.
Yeah, it's a rich man's sport, that's for sure.
It is, and I also, you know, well, I agree with you and this is, this is the reason why like, you know, like I still watch Formula One and I'm still, I still, you know, check the results and I still watch the races when I can.
But like I, I've really kind of, I'm not taking a dislike to it, but just taking a step back from it.
I, I, I would say over the in the last few years, just because it's just, it's gotten to the point of like, you know, of that. And, you know, it's just like,
well, you know, it's, you might be the most skilled driver, but if you got the money, that's, that's where that's where it talks, you know, and, and I guess that's probably why I kind of liked, you know, World Rally NWRC, you know, because, because like you get these kids from, you know, from Finland and, and all these places that that I've just quite literally taught to slide a car around since they'll be like, you know, a toddler, you know what I mean? And, and they're just walking
with a car and they've got No Fear because they've been doing this since they've been like, you know, it sounds like, it sounds like a, you know, turn a wheel.
So yeah, I you make you wonder how many good drivers are there are that they'll never get to that to that point because they don't have the coin and. Then I'd tune into I would tune
into Formula Ones this season. Yeah, no, I have been.
I have been this season. Yeah, I think this season's
going to be interesting. I don't think Red Bull's going
to win every single race. It's a lot closer than it has
been in the in the last. Previous, but McLaren and both
of the drivers are up there. Mercedes are doing really well.
I'm loving watching Kimi Antonelli, a Mercedes.
He's the youngest driver. He's he's awesome.
He's a bit of a character. He's pretty.
He doesn't say he's a character. Yeah, I really enjoy watching
him. It was pretty funny.
Like he's that young, he's racing around Formula Ones and didn't have a driver's licence yet, wasn't old enough to drive on the street yet. So crazy.
He let the race for a bit and he was the youngest to lead a race in Formula One history. Yeah, Japan.
Need for Speed does pay off, doesn't it?
Absolutely. Absolutely.
I think you're both missing the biggest take away from Japan was that obviously the powers that be at Red Bull do listen to Maddie J's podcast because they changed the livery of Yuki's car in honour of the 60th anniversary of Honda's first Grand Prix. Mean.
And I'm just saying it's no coincidence that my, that was a question in my Grand Prix quiz. So you know.
Can I just say that's the best livery Red Bull's had in years?
Genuinely, the car looked epic. It looked so cool.
It looked great. It it looked really retro.
I mean, obviously their images I've seen lots of, but the the white car with the black Honda written on it and stuff in in so many places. It was like, Oh yeah, that's
cool. That is very cool.
And the red how? Are the fans over there too?
Yeah, yeah, they're pretty, pretty full on.
Geez, they love to dress up and. That's why no one ever took
because they're also polite over there, you know, like, Oh no, the Japanese weren't driving the cars, were they?
No, no, no, no, that's right. That's right.
They were in the carpet with their six 60s, you know.
I would love to have heard and I would love to have been there to just hear this always thousands and thousands of Revs as a the zinger around the track would have been awesome.
Well, yeah, we're going to get back to Japan.
That's that's. There's an N1 owners kept in
Japan, they racing ones and Mitch's.
When Mitch was working up there, he sent me footage from the pits and it was hilarious. They just, they just sounded
like George Jetson's, you know, spaceship flying parts all exactly the same pitch one after the other.
There's. Going to be something sad about
spec racing like where it's all the same like it's it really makes the driver shine. Doesn't.
It. Oh, it does, absolutely.
They meant to have it all talking about having an all Mustang race series in Australia next year.
Really. Yeah, I think I read that on, I
think it was Speed Cafe. Don't know how many will go into
it. Don't know any other info than
that. They could do it with emacs and
just use all the unsold ones, yeah.
Yeah, absolutely. And it robbed me.
Like that's where my wife went ended up.
I'd like a a Ford Ranger series. They did that for a while,
didn't they? It whips, yeah.
Yeah. The the Ute stuff was kind of
cool, actually. I.
Didn't I? Didn't.
I didn't mind. Scared of bumping into each
other? Yeah.
Very. Rock Son used to race in that in
the utes. Oh, right, yeah.
That's cool. I reckon that there was
something a bit different. Yeah, I was wasn't, wasn't
opposed to it. So we'll move on.
But yes, I think to answer the second part of your question, Jeremy, it is a tight year. So you know, it's anyway it's
up. It's a kind of anyone's game,
really. Yeah.
So watch the space. The next question is from Static
from the Gutter to Gutter podcast.
He asked you have your choice of Halo cars from every decade since the 70s. Which one you, which one are you
owning? So which which one are you
owning? Which one?
Sorry, which one are you crushing?
Sorry, which one? Which one are you giving to your
best mate? So owning, crushing, giving to
your best mate. That's a good question.
So that's a great question. We're going to get you back on
the podcast. This is the stuff that's the
quality you produce. So great question, Anthony, any
car since the 70s, which one are you deciding to own?
Which one are you? Which one are you crushing?
And and then these these are Halo cards.
So like like these aren't like, oh, you're going to crush your, your your, your sang young stoic.
It's you know, it's you got to you got to you got to pick one to crush and which one are you giving to your best mate?
I. Don't know now.
Now I really got to think. Sorry about that.
I was having a bit of technical issues as well as the one started crying. I'm going to let somebody else
go first because I actually have to think about this.
There's lots of different options.
And then I got to think, What Car am I going to throw mats by?
Is it going to be something legitimately decent, or is it just going to be a pile of crap? That is a good question.
All things that I'll legitimately have to consider.
Absolutely. Well, the balls, the balls and
you're called gentlemen. Any any ideas?
Yeah, I'd, I'd, I'd give a midnight per plat 34 to Scotty again because I know he regretted selling that car.
Yes, yeah, you know, Purple 2. 3232 what?
Yes, 34 Yeah, I was right the first time yeah.
Yeah. You know, you need another one
of those You need, you need to we try and hang away, try and hang on to all these cars for different reasons and then you finally decide to sell one and then think, oh, that's the one I should have sold. That's the one I didn't.
So yeah, now you need that one back keeping.
If I would go back, I'd probably get an NSXI think and just have that in the garage for sunny days.
Crushing. That's so Jeremy Clarkson.
I don't like that bit. Maybe a Ford laser?
Yeah. I thought you said hero cars.
Well, I mean, it's a hero to some look.
Probably AGT, probably a Falcon GTHO because yeah, there are only 1500 made and there's only 7000.
So, you know, we can probably get rid of some of those.
Obviously not a genuine one, but there are far too many replicas around those. But mine's all.
They're mine's genuine too mate, I know it is.
Yeah, yeah. No, no, there are a lot coming
up on the on the on the Geelong Rd.
The other day, on Friday, it was.
We are bet that would have. Been They can't have all been
real. I just can't believe that.
All in the orange. The million fire, mate, it's
called a million orange. Come on mate, that's what it's
called a million fire. So that that's you, that's you
sort of crushed GTHO replica because they're all replicas at this point. Own an NSX and give to Scottie
his 34 GTR back. Yeah.
Scottie Doe. Does that mean all the cars I
picked don't have to be from the 70s?
No, no, like, like from the 70s onwards.
Onwards. Well, I think if David Prince
gives me the 34 GDR, I mean like purple 2, then I don't need to add that. It's exactly done that for me.
I appreciate that. You're welcome.
You're doing God's work, David. Yeah, for Maddie I'd give him
AFD RX7. Oh yes.
And it'll be the last edition, Bathurst edition.
Oh yeah. So he'll have one of those
because I know how badly he would he would love. 1 so it is
on my list of it's in my top three dream cars Scotty Dome so.
Last, last edition of that. So I'd be, he'd be happy with
that one, I think. What colour?
What? Colour I'd go to the I'd get him
the one in the the dark blue. Oh, nice.
OK. Yeah, that was my, that was my
car in initial day that when I used to pay the arcades, you know. Yeah.
Brings back, brings back memories that was yeah, yeah.
Want to get on one day one? Day getting getting one of
those. He can live the Rotary life for
a bit, absolutely. I'm sure he'll enjoy that.
My my bank account won't, but everything else will, yeah.
Well, you know, at least you don't have to pay and buy it.
It's sort of everything else and making it a bit more reliable.
What do I want? I mean, originally it would have
been 34 GDR, but I'm not going to say that one again because David's already gifted that one. He's gifted a.
Towel. You just need a spare one.
Just a. Spare.
Daily. Just a daily around I am going
to go. I'm going to go with A33GDR400R.
You. Can't get more hero than that I
think. For me, that is the ultimate
GTR. Like it's, it's the, it's, it's,
is this was it still the most powerful by the end of the GTR's runs? I think it was, I think it was
the, you know, besides obviously the 35 like that was that was the GTR. No, I'm pretty sure Zed tune had
more power. OK, Yeah.
But yeah, the 400 Rs, just everything just beautiful.
Don't get me wrong, Zed tune's awesome too.
But yeah, 400 R. What colour?
Get it in the yellow the. Yellow's cool.
Yeah, yeah, I get it in the yellow.
And you sort of get the the first fast and furious, like, you know, the the hand kind of thing that going on across the side, you know the. Definitely not 4. 100 that'll be
sacrilege. And there's, there's many things
I'm thinking of that I, I crush and I do it just to piss people off. I will get a mark for super and
crush that. Scotty Doe.
Yeah, I was thinking that and then I was like maybe a chaser, the ZX100 chase and just crush that or something.
You know, there's even, there's even skylines that I'd probably crush too. You know, the the very first R30
threes. Series ones, yeah.
Yeah, the Series 133. Not a good looking.
Guys, yeah, I'd happily crush one of those.
Yeah. That were ugly.
That were hideous series. Twos are good though.
I like the series twos. Yeah, Series 2 is better.
They fix up, they fix up the bumper and everything like that, and that's fine. But yeah, Series one crush.
Yeah. All right.
All right. Yeah, you've officially made us
lose half out this in a base, but that's OK.
That's. I'll add to the other half.
All right, Anthony, So what car are you buying for yourself?
Look, I've got 2 which are in mind, but one of them is a little bit more class. One of them is a little bit more
rutish. I guess you would sort of say
Rutish And look, even now that I'm sort of even saying the brutish sort of side of things, I'm now just thinking a newer generation particular car that just really has that little stance. Look, but probably the crushing
this is going to be the the other half of the listener base is going to be the maybe it's actually going to be the 2 door Rexies. That's, that's a big one,
Anthony, that, that definitely goes my, my, my device.
I need need to throw a spanner into work somewhere.
Absolutely. And and you know, I'm always
good for it. Now on the gifting side, I mean,
I got, I got to think on, on who's already got a car at this stage and who doesn't and who's got to appreciate what.
And given that Dave hasn't got a car yet, I I think this is a borderline because I would absolutely love one as well.
It's going to be the last generation of the DB Sixers.
Oh. So a little bit more obscure.
Yeah. But well and truly just has that
epitome of class behind it too for you the very last few generations. So whether you like it or not,
Dave, I'll leave that up to you and.
Kick one out of the garage. No, I didn't think you would.
No, no. I didn't think you would.
I, I, I think, I mean, I know that everybody here would appreciate it, but I just, I don't know, thought, thought maybe I'll throw that one there a little bit more.
Go away. Thank you.
I'll say. That and then and this is the
little bit of the rock and the hard place.
It's like, do I go new school? Do I go old school to to keep
for myself in a, in a brutish sort of sense?
Because like, I'll give you my two options.
One of them is, and I am not by any stretch a Holden fan, but I would still rock a HSB Malou. Absolutely you would.
Nice. That's that's nothing, nothing
to you know, to to shy away from so and you got the practicality behind it. And you know how I am when it
comes to youths and the other sides of things, which is more in the old school youths is just going to be a Corvette Stingray.
Yeah, OK. Which again, similar sort of
premise but just going for the 2 door hatch as opposed to and I don't know even I I I'll go to the HSB for myself because I actually think a Stingray in this day and age is more achievable. True.
You're probably not wrong to be honest.
So yeah, a couple of different options there and as I said, crush you. You're other half your fan base
but it's OK. Yeah, it's OK.
Someone's going to do it. Well, well, Anthony, you, you
just crushed one of the cars. I was going to say so like I had
two options for the one I'd buy for myself.
And you know, I'm a fan of the 90s and rallying and like I think the Group A rallying year. I was like for me, that's my
it's my favourite year old. Your, your Rs Cosworths, your
Sliga GT Fours, your. I was the the other one.
I was going to say a crush was going to be a Cosworth, by the way. OK, well, well, so it was my two
were going to be either A22B because everyone knows I'm going to pick Alexis LFA out of everything, but like I'm going to be a bit more interesting this time around.
So it's going to be a 22B Subaru or a, you know, escort Rs Cosworth. And I think the Subaru is just a
bit more special. So it's more rare.
Well, sorry, I should say it's rarer.
It's you got. One less of them.
Yeah, it's yeah, it's yeah, and it's and it hopefully wouldn't have been crossed by Anthony. So, so, yeah, so that's kind of
kind of the one I'd I'd have now, Anthony, no one's given you a car yet, so I'm going to give you a car.
I know you're you're a fan of of weird cars.
You always have been. And you like you like V eights.
You're you're, you are a bit of AV8 guy, even though you've owned, you haven't owned AV 8 I don't think.
I haven't owned AV8I did go and check out a an XR8 prior to buying the the XR6 turbo. That's probably about as close
as I got, but I've only had I only had sixes and a ball backer. Now I know you like these cars
and and they were the Halo for the company at the time.
And David Prince is going to just go, Oh my goodness, what are you doing, Matt? But he likes a waggon too, so V8
and waggon. And I know he likes these cars.
So I'm going to give you a SRT300C waggon, which is quite a rare car. Anthony Falk But it is, it is, I
think I think kind of cool. Actually it's it's kind of it's
kind of it's cool in its own way, very gangster, very anti establishment, which is which is kind of a bit of a contrast to you, Anthony Falk being in your profession has.
The dash peeled off it yet? Or not?
Absolutely. It has.
Of course it has. It has?
Yeah. Yeah.
Cool. It's all about the engine.
It's nothing else. Like the rest of the car will
quite literally fall apart, but the engine, engine, transmission are. They're pretty good at those.
Just don't. Don't worry about replacing
brakes. No, they are they and they
actually kind of look look pretty cool too.
I like it was a waggon. So I think I think that that
would suit you just fine. Anthony Bulk.
Practicalities there like it. Practicality is definitely
there. Neil Halo card to crush.
Now the issue is I like all the I like all the cards, and seeing as we've already lost all our fanbase from the Super and the 2 door WRX getting crushed, I'm going to crush something that a lot of people like. But you know, I'm a bit of a you
know, I couldn't couldn't really go either way on.
I can't even want to say this, but I'm going to crush a so no, I'm going to crush a Toyota, a Toyota 86, not an A not an A 86, but like a like, you know, like the the the sport, the sports guy 86. I'm just like.
Yeah, yeah. You know, because they're the
Halo, the Halo cars to every P player.
And and I was I was going to say, you know, a Golf GTI, but that would be too obvious. So I'll grab something a bit a
bit different, but but but it's not Halo enough and I don't think it is because you guys, you guys put like real Halo cars, GTH OS 2 door Rexes and and Supras.
So because it's not Halo enough, I want to say something that does absolutely 0 for me, and that is early 2000s seven series like that. That was the big, you know,
manajama expensive BMW. Yeah, 7-7 would be.
It's like 740 or 7. 67-A760LI that that it just has no that
ugliest sin, but like there was the Halo car that was their most expensive car. The first of the Bengal cars.
Correct. The first of the Bengal cars.
Yeah, I'll crush one of those. I Yeah.
Yeah, yeah, crush them. All.
Yeah, I will. Yeah.
Thank you. There you go.
That's that's that's that's been crushed.
So that was a very expensive car at this time and and along comes with it it no longer being on my list of of things.
Yeah, I. Bet my 31 costs more than one of
those now. They do, Absolutely it would.
We're going to continue this next week, but we'll go with one more from Joanne Carvalho. She asked What Car has the most
miles on it. So is is it in the kind of
question? Is it in the Guinness Book of
Records? I think we've covered this one.
Yeah, it was the the the Volvo that's done 8,000,000 kilometres. Yeah, and they end up
refurbishing for him and everything like that.
Correct. Yeah.
It's in a museum now, but yeah, that would be the car that's done the most verified kilometres.
So yeah, that that would be that would be the one.
We're going to continue this next week with some some more because we've got a fair few more, but I don't want to take all your evenings too far. And just just be just for the
record side, so it was the P 18-18 hundred and that was 5.23
million kilometres. That's insane.
That is a lot of kilometres. Don't get me wrong, absolutely
gorgeous car to add to it too. I actually love those.
I think they are a pretty thing, like they're a Pretty Little car. Have you worked on any of those,
David? Yeah, a few of these.
I always preferred the ES more the waggon version with the big glass tailgate. I always thought they were
pretty special, but yeah, so different to all their other cars in the day. Absolutely.
I don't think I've ever seen an ES in person.
I've seen plenty of 18. Oh, really?
The. 1800s Well, I've never seen an ES like I've never seen the
waggon version. And that's it's like, oh, I've
always wanted to see one because like apparently they, as you said, they they're a good looking car.
They're they're. Very pretty.
And that's where the the C30 which.
Was that that hatch? Version that that had the same
sort of glass tailgate on it because of this of the ES.
So yeah, it's like a nod to that that Pretty Pretty has.
Yeah, they were cool, pretty, Carlos has said.
Me asked me to promote his book. So his books, called A Flaneur
Punk, you can get at any good bookstore, as he says.
So there you go, the Carlos there, there's your plug.
There you go. Thanks, Carlos.
Thanks, Carlos. But we'll continue with the
next, we'll get another, another six or seven questions, which we'll we'll cover it next week. And in the, in the Part 2 of,
of, of answering your questions. Yeah, I try to do some answering
questions once in a while from our from our listeners, gentlemen on top of the car quiz.
Let's go. Please.
Stuff for the car quiz. Let's get so so you know the
rules, 10 questions plus and bonus questions.
We've got Scotty, we've got Anthony and we've got Mr. David
Prince playing for tonight's reward of nothing.
Breaking rods for a week? Breaking rods for a week, like
when you got breaking rods for a week, it's a, it's, it's a good thing. All right, question one.
Which car companies have stopped shipments to the US after the tariffs? David, Jaguar and Land Rover.
Jaguar and Land Rover, I'll, I'll pay that.
Yes, I will absolutely pay that. They'll they'll classify in the
JLR group, so I'll classify them as one.
So that's one point. There's still another point on
offer. Oh, OK.
After the tariffs have been introduced which which have stopped their shipments to the US.
So, so JLR is 1 and there's another company, quite a large company. Scott.
I heard that Ford and John Deere are not participating with these tariffs. I don't know if Ford's part of
it. No, Ford isn't part of it, but I
just. Stated on the news today that
they're not bringing jobs back to America so it's.
Going to be to be interesting the next thing what we're going to do in our production episode on the tariffs because that's that's a big topic of discussion, but it isn't Ford, Anthony and David, you guys are still in.
It's going to be, it's going to be again, it's going to come back down to the Europe side of the thing.
Is it going to have to do with in such a big market for it too?
I'm going to just throw that spanner in the works and say is it going to be part of the badge group?
It is, yeah. I'll pay that, Anthony.
It is. VW have said they're going to
stop their shipments. VWVW.
Yep. To the United States.
Yeah. And that that's like, I was just
trying to nut it down and I'm like you surely with the amount of stuff going on from Europe in that instance, like that's such a big hit to the market over there for them too, so.
So. Yeah.
Apparently, apparently they don't have got stock for the next two months, but if they're stopping bringing anything because there are stocks already in the country.
So it's tariff freed until I guess they decide with how much they're going to ask for extra. And that's that's not including
Audi, that's not including all the other stuff that they that they that they bring under under that badge.
So, so we will, we will say, we'll say that staying with America. However, question 2, staying
with America, which company has offered its customers on most models except like the high performance special stuff employee pricing for for the time being on all their models.
So they've offered customers employee pricing on on all the models except for like, you know, the high performance and they're and they're they're quite rare to hard to get, you know, in demand or in demand cars.
That's the first of all I've ever heard of a company.
Do this, Dave. I'll take a guess, GM.
GM is incorrect. I was.
Thinking the same sort, but I have heard things about the CA Corvettes and things like that. They're going well under.
They are because they're not selling.
Prices there, Scott. Scott.
Is it dodge? It isn't Dodge.
It isn't Dodge. Yeah, this is a big thing.
They've like everyone's like, holy crap, we better rush to some showrooms if we know if we want to get a car and employee pricing. So I think David Prince is Is
David Prince in the left one, left or no?
I'm not going to say. General Motors.
Oh, you. Said General Anthony.
Yeah. Anthony is the only one left.
Yeah, I'm trying to think of anything that's American based that's would do something like that.
And if you're getting rid of GM and you're getting rid of Dodge like they're they're like the main big sort of culprits in that instance look. There is there is one more of
the of the big three as David is is David is something that he putting one finger up. Yeah, and I'm trying to think
who it is now and this is passing me.
You've got baby brain, I think. I have I've got Matt brain.
I'm. Going to give you 5 seconds
earlier. I'm going to buzz you out.
I know I'm going to be wrong when I was going to stay Ford.
Ford is correct, Anthony. I'm like how?
How? How am I forgetting this?
The big three, there's Chrysler, GM and Ford, it had to be one of them. So they're offering on
everything except for the Mustang and the Bronco, I believe apart from that, like F1 fifties and I think, you know, range and all the things, jeez, employee pricing that that's they're they're trying to back America for America, as I said, Well, what? Sort of discount do you get, do
you know, I'm, I know Toyota in Australia you get 25%, so that's equal to the tariff basically. Yeah, so it'd be good to have to
find that out. We'll, we'll suss it out at the
end of the show. Wow, question. #3 Toms, the
famous shooting company in Japan, raced the Supra in the Japanese touring car with JJGTC, not with a 2JZ engine.
What engine did they use instead?
Scott. Scott.
You're. Going to kick yourself if you
get this wrong Scotty. I could just don't.
Remember what the engine is called.
I know What Car it's in. I know everything if you give.
Me point, I'll give you .5. You can tell me what engine
it's, What Car it's in. I'll give you .5 for that.
Yeah, it's in the Celica. It is in a Celica.
I'll give you .5. I know exactly what Celica it's
in too. Oh my God that I'm going to have
to pass. Yep, easy stuff up and TuneIn
and tell me the the code. I'm no good with codes.
Anthony. No, you know I'm bad with that
stuff. I'm on to the GT4.
Well, it's what's him hit his head against the steering wall.
It's in front of him. Yeah, it's the three edged GE
that is 2. You know what, I I just had like
one UZ stuck in my head and then stupid four AG ES stuck on my head. Stupid four AG ES.
Are you the best engine Toyota ever made?
Thank you very much. I can't.
Shake those ones out of your head to start thinking of anything else. To to be fair, the 3S,
especially in GE, it's a, it's a, it's a very underappreciated engine. I don't think people realised
how good it was until until really recently.
And I'm just remember the 3S GTE that was in the Calgene as well as one. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, your brotherhood on that is correct.
So they, they put that instead and they, they, the reason they, they put that instead of the two J is because they already had developed like a race engine package for that 3 Sgt.
And so it would have been, it was a lot easier than than you know, boosting up the, the two J, which was a 2J as we know is really capable, but they thought lightweight.
It's already, they already had it as a TID like a Tom's tuned package. Those whacked it straight in the
car and then they went. They took it racing.
Question #4 Dave was going to get this car.
Which car company offered a radar model spec in the 90s?
A radar model spec. Yes.
Wow. Radar in Raider radar.
Oh, David. David Ford.
They did. They did.
And it was based on a. Was it a bonus question?
There is the bonus question, but the question, the bonus question is what was it based on? It was based on the Mazda B
2600. Yeah, I'll pay that.
And for slash Ford Korea, I'll pay that.
Yeah, Ford. Korea, Yeah, yeah, I'll pay
that. Well, Mazda was the the donor
car wasn't. It correct?
Yes, absolutely. Scorecheck Scotty .5, Anthony 2,
David 3 and halfway through the quiz.
Question #5 In what year did Holden stop selling the Jackaroo in Australia? Oh.
Jackaroo Bloody hell. That's OK.
You haven't heard in a while. Scotty there.
We've got to do ones. What kind have you heard of in a
while, Jackaroo? Jackaroo.
You've gone for a long time as well.
I'll give closest to Scott. I'll go 1st.
I'm going to say 96. 96 is Scotty.
David, I'll go jackaroo, I'll go 94. 94.
No, that's wrong with me. And Anthony?
I was, I was going to go a bit later and say towards 98. 98
Anthony, you're closest. It was 2002.
Really. Wow.
Two. No, I thought it ended in the
90s. Yes.
Or did I? Question number six Which car
company had the slogan Come alive, Come and drive?
Drive, David. David.
Nissan. Nissan is absolutely correct.
David Prince. Come alive, come and drive
Nissan. That's.
Yeah, that's the one. Yeah.
Question #7 The new Honda Prelude will be offered with approximately how many transmissions as far as we know.
I haven't read that bit. Saw a picture of a nice red 1
Rob sent from Suzuki. Yeah, another really nice.
Yeah, Yeah, it's really nice to say green.
It looks good in red too. Oh, sure, yeah.
David, I'll guess I'll say 1. That is correct.
It is one, yes, as far as we know.
Damn, damn damn. That's a shame.
It's a sports car Honda. You've got a type by gearbox
there. Just use it.
The way of the times. Yeah, it is unfortunately
question #8 the new Mercedes Benz AMGC 63 will be offered with what kind of engine to be which, so to be rumoured with what kind of engine to be coming out.
Dated David A VA. Incorrect.
I thought they gave me Scott. Scott.
Is it going to be a six? It is a six, I'll give you that.
So it's going to be a straight 6.
So they were talking about the V8 coming back, but they've decided that they they haven't taken enough of a the battering from the public. So they're going to just put a
six on it and cops cop more of a battering because it's all.
About, but it might be the six, because doesn't the new C43 have the six? Straight six, yeah.
Yeah, I think that's what it's. Based on yeah, I thought so.
So they've they've sold about three of the four cylinder C60 threes around the world. Now.
This one's just not. It's.
So stupid like if you wanted the 4 cylinder you go for the hatchback to a 45. Like that's that's what it is.
You expect hatchbacks to the engine on that, not your big hero have a four banger in it. Yeah.
And if you're spending that much money, petrol is not a factor for. You.
Yeah, clearly. It's.
Like with the Mustangs? Yeah.
Yeah, EcoBoost all the way. Yeah, to be fair though, with
the EcoBoost they did do a turbocharged Mustang in the 80s and they kind of did it as a homage.
And how good did that go? Not well, not well.
Not only did it look rather hideous at the same time.
Car companies question #9 how many generations of the Hyundai XL were made during its run? Worldwide?
So I'm after worldwide. David, I'll take a guess, 55.
Incorrect. Scott.
Scott. 8. 8 is incorrect. I'm.
Just it's usually say worldwide, it doesn't throw it out, but.
Does, yeah. Can I say 4?
War is incorrect, but you are closest to Anthony.
It's three that three generations that is X1X2 and X3.
This is what these are the generations were called.
Question #10 it is a brochure question.
So you need to listen to what I'm saying and guess the car engineered to win. Nothing is a greater test of
technology, engineering and reliability than a racetrack, and in 1986 the Blank Dealer Team Turbos demonstrated that by winning the Australian Touring Car Championship, which makes every Blank owner a winner. Because much of the technology
that went into the Victoria's Blank Turbos applied to the Blank Blank Series. However, the only way to really
appreciate what it takes to win on the racetrack is to drop into your Blank Dealer for a test drive.
Then you'll understand why today's Touring Car Champion champions make Champion touring cars so, and it is not what you think it might be. I'm just going to put it out
there. Oh, I'll have a guess.
Was it the pulse? RET turbo it.
Wasn't the pulse RET turbo Good guess but it's a it's not don't.
Worry. Scott.
Scott. Is it the Sierra Cosworth?
It is in the Sierra Cosworth. That's where my mind would have
gone. Yeah, but they must have been a
bit late, maybe a couple of years later.
So these ones, yeah, they I think when they when they had it's kind of like there's a few different versions of these just showing touring car inverted commas championship.
But I know Anthony that he will he'll kick himself because he actually loves these. So, so so would have Chad.
Chad would have got Chad would have gotten this one.
Really interesting. You know.
So think about turbo technology from Europe.
I'll just give you that hint. I won't say anything more.
Turbo in Europe. But they wanted it.
The ad refers to a car in Australia, doesn't it?
Correct. Yeah, it's.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. But that, but it was, it was,
it's a, it's a European car. I'll give you that hint and and
if he doesn't get it, I'll give you guys another hint and bring his all back in. Yeah, it's a European car and it
is turbocharged. That is correct.
Oh, you're going to be saying it's a Volvo?
It is a Volvo, Anthony. Oh.
I'll give you .5 now. I'll give you .5 if you get the
if you get the actual. I'm going to have to go to the
eight 50s. It's a bit.
It's a bit later. Eight 50s.
Yeah, Incorrect. OK.
I still get .5. I'll take that.
Yeah, .5, you're all back in for the extra .5.
David. David.
It was a 740 turbo. It was a 7. 40 Turbo That is
absolutely correct. David Prince.
That is the cartel Carquest. So yeah, it was.
Which makes every Volvo owner a winner.
I can't even remember 740 turbos racing.
I can remember the waggons. I can remember the 242 GTS.
Yeah, 7:40 ass. Wow.
I was just like, are we talking the eight?
Are we talking the eight 40s? Are we talking the sevens?
I'm just like the car. Next to it's a 2 two series.
Correct. Yeah, but they.
Oh, they. Read the turbo engine.
Turbo engine, yeah. So, so yeah, there you go.
Team Turbos demonstrated the you know.
So hang on, hang on, was I right?
I said 740 turbo. Oh, the car was being advertised
was a 740 turbo, correct? Yes, but in the series the two
40s were running the engine. OK, they're running, they're
running two their turbocharged versions, yes.
Good on Volvo for just drawing that out as far as they that most tenuous link you could possibly have to something as Volvo 740 Turbo. Mind you, very low pressure
turbos too, by the way. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
But seriously uncool then, but seriously cool now.
So that's let's let's not forget that score.
Czech German Scotty on 1.5, Anthony on 4.5 and tonight's
winner on 5.5, Mr. David Prince. Well, that would be.
Cool. Oh, thank you mate.
Scotty, you deserve more than 1.5 on that.
Oh yeah, you were. You were just off on a few of
those. Yeah, two, I know.
I I thought you were a bit stiff, Scotty.
Brain. Brain not brain not working.
You can't. Get the three Sgt.
Yeah, I know. I was like Scotty.
I like this amazing man. I know this.
I knew straight away what engine was in it.
Yeah, but well, well, Scotty, now you'll know that, Well, you'll never forget the three edge GTE now first of all.
Secondly, you, you'll now know that every Volvo owner is a winner because because of the the the technology that went into the Victoria's Volvo turbos has applied to the 700 series.
So there you go. That is the Yeah.
So. So you're going to be a winner
regardless, Scotty. So next time I see a 700 on the
right, I'm going to be like, they advertise you as a race car even though you never were. Well done, guys.
Good, Good quiz. Tight quiz.
Got actually pretty close in the end, Anthony.
Anthony was, Yeah. Yeah, he's racing up.
So he's. He's that half a point?
Yeah, I know it was. It was a bit was at one point in
in title, but well. Half a point between the draw.
Between the draw, yeah. True.
Yeah, really, really good, good. After gentlemen, there was there
was some tough questions in there genuinely about like like the the Volvo Turbo, I would have went straight to Saab.
I would have went to Saab Turbo. That's that's where I would.
Have went see that that was that was actually coming in my mind.
I was just like, oh, are we going to be talking Saabs?
We're going to be talking Volvos.
As soon as you said something obscure and that I'm going to appreciate, I'm like, I know it's one of those two.
It's going. To be two field.
Because I, I would have went Sierra 'cause they want everything in the 80s like, like, like they've still got the, the highest win rate of any of any car ever.
Like it's, it's an incredible, it's an, it's absolutely amazing. I think the most winningest car
inverted commas, all that stuff. And I would have went there or,
but then I would have been thrown off by if I would have said I'll be like, what the hell, could it have been like a Volvo? But yeah, anyway, there you go.
Volvo. Like we're big in racing for a
very long time though. Like that.
That's that's not like the the flying bricks are are a big are a big thing. So yeah, really, really cool
that that they that they're still kind of doing stuff like that. I think that's a that is a
podcast, gentlemen. You would, man.
Good job. Good, good work, good work.
We'll continue part Part 2 of the Ask us any questions for for next week. We also got to discuss the the
tariffs that's going in in America.
That's that's going crazy right now.
So unrelated before we actually just wrap it up, I just thought out of curious, I'm going to have a quick look and see what the prizes for 850 Volvos and 7:40 Volvos are actually going for at the moment. Well, while you get that up,
we'll do some plugs. Scotty's golf tip of the week.
Golf tip of the week. Oh, haven't gone out for a
while? Actually, no probably should.
These holidays have a hit and get you a new tip, but nothing at the moment, no. OK tip is just keep keep
practising. Yeah.
Get out there while you can. Absolutely.
David Prince, anything you'd like to plug today?
Do you want to plug the Spirit of Tasmania?
Do you want to plug? Yeah, yeah, yeah, It was a it's
a long trip, but it was good. I enjoyed it.
I actually read a book cover to nearly cover, which I haven't done in a long time. Actually, the last one I ever
read was on the was like, that was the last time I was on the Spirit of Tasmania because there's literally nothing to do for 10 hours. Well, there is if you want to go
to the cinema or that there's some bit of live music and stuff. But I actually really enjoyed it
because you didn't have to do anything else, but sitting there it was good did. You get sick.
No, no, it was pretty rough actually, the first half of the trip, I suppose the 1st 4 hours or so.
Yeah, it was pretty, yeah. It was a lot of spray, you know,
and we were crashing through waves and sort of rolling sideways and up and down, but I was more worried about the car.
But yeah, that came out unscathed.
So so that was good. But yeah, no, it's, I prefer it
to flying. It's just takes extra time and
you've got your own car at the end of it and you can.
Yeah, that's good. Very good.
There you go. Anthony.
Did we find up some pricing? He's blanked on us.
OK, we'll move on. We'll move on.
It's because I've, it's because I've got car sales up at the same time, so it ends up just booting out my thing.
As long as you guys can hear me though, yeah.
And now? So there are 2850 hours in a
manual currently for sale, which is 32 grand.
There is a 96850 waggon with 104,000 KS which is 31.
There is a 96850 with 280,000 KS which is 20.
Well, they've, they've got nuts in price these things that's.
That's what I'm saying. There's another one, another 850
order with 230, which is 21 1/2. There's A7, there's a 740 which
is with 270,000 KS, which is 10 grand.
So the cheapest at the moment is 10 grand for that waggon, another 850 with 390,000 KS which is 8 1/2.
Geez, no. No, no, no, that can't possibly
be bright. I think you look at the wrong
look at the wrong. You shouldn't look at car sales
from 15 years ago, but like an AC waggon was.
Is like 3 or 4. Grand it was.
Well, Car Talk top tip, don't buy those cars.
That's amazing, that is. Incredible money.
