Rob, you were at motor accident weekend.

Well, I were didn't make it. I didn't make it OK.

Now I was so caught up in getting this Sr replica on the road. The laser one.

The lies that you dip the laser one I didn't go.

Did you well, have you guys seen the photos?

I don't know if you sent them to you guys.

It it it looks awesome. I didn't send it to everyone but

yeah I basically it's come up real well.

The sites good on the right hand side when they when I got it off the guys actually ripped it off the brackets and broke most of it. I've done a good repair here but

the the epoxy break and we went to put it back on, it cracked a little bit. So put it just a bit of sort of

a white sealant to just cover up the crack a little bit until we can get another skirt. Fixed the skirt, but the car

can't. Real good.

Look it looks like a little yeah, replica Sr except for the driver driving lights and we've just got some wheels for it.

Put we're gonna put an exhaust tip on it to make it look you know sort of a little bit different and.

So it has at one point having such a special car that people are actually doing replicas of it now.

Say well I'm a trend said what can I say I well the the the awkward thing is it looks it looks a lot better than mine currently because the pain in my legs is very how you're going on the roof so so I'm I'm a wee bit jealous but the the pictures came up great like I'll show you guys on on the on the thing while you talk about but yeah so they they cleared it in in Tupac did they. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

So it's done a Tupac clear in a spray booth.

So little dirt, few little run which we've been able to sort of clean up and and Polish back. So it wasn't too bad overall for

what it is. It's a great little, yeah.

It's come up pretty and I'll buff that even more since.

So it's really come up well, blurry, yeah.

But. There's there it is.

That's that's pretty good. But I I really like like the

body kit. You put like you you put the Sr

body kit on it like it's different from it.

You put a little little exhaust tip on there.

It's come up really, really well.

You know you've got a very unique car because they didn't make any SRS or Sr Twos in white.

So. So that is a very, very unique,

very unique vehicle. Mr Mr Rob.

Yeah, they'll say couple weeks, what was it maybe 3 weeks ago as of some sort of a car show with a lot of forward.

So I think it might have been a Ford event in Geelong.

OK. Yeah, and we here almost every

week. And yeah, but my son in law was

so disappointed. Didn't have his car ready for

it. But so next year you can get all

four day with you and Maddie. I'll make sure to bring to bring

my laser to that day and I'll try.

And pack it side by side. Have to come see you cause cause

I wanna I wanna send the top of the room, just put a wrap on there until I paint it so it doesn't look, doesn't look any worse. Go full right back into carbon

fibre. Oh, that's so that's I don't

want Trump carbon fibre leftover.

It's gonna be in patches because it's like.

I'll do my side effect, but yeah I look the IT is getting sprayed. It's getting sprayed as soon as

I am, as soon as it gets 25 years.

I wanna take it off the road and and get it and get it ready for for Club Plate and you know beautified again cause it.

By then it would have hopefully close to 400,000 K's and then I can say you know what it's it's telling.

I was gonna say hopefully I can get it to about 400 to 500,000 K's in the next few years. I'd say probably more close to

400. So that way I can you know give

it it's it's it's due course in resting and get all painted and and make it yeah you know bring it back to to 300,000's of of of no of no you know no driving give us some fresh paint.

I have to, I have to redesign all the decals for it and stuff because they don't make them anymore and no one in their right mind would do what I'm about to do to their lasers because they they don't really care.

There are probably the only one that's that's like, well here's the thing. I'm on the on the SP20 forms and

stuff, which is the same car. There's reproduction stickers

for those. There's everything reproduction

floor mats and and and and and people in Australia make them but for the for the rights of four it's not as cool as them as the version so like nobody did anything and here I am like I have to talk myself so it's so unfair.

It's a it's it's it's it's it's blatant racism to Ford in that in that instance it's tourism. And I'm yeah, I'm gonna have to

you know take photos measure it all up recreate all the decals that, you know the stuff and stuff so I can get it back to looking factory fresh and then and then I can I can drag race Emmett in his in his laser off. We just need to get a turbo for

it, I think. Yeah.

A little turbo kit that would be good.

No. But what colour?

What colour is your carpet? Is it dark?

Or what mine mines like a dark grey interiors, all black except for except for the headlining. So that again was unique to SSR

And so I'm gonna have to, I'll have to go there and say, hey, you know, I've got these old Shaggy ones.

I was thinking of us put my XR650 year anniversary for mats back in my XR6 now that I'm not driving it a lot so I'm going to put the the picnic basket I got with the car when I bought it and all the accessories with the and bits and pieces.

So Rob, would that car what accessories did you get Cause the 50th anniversary came with I know that came with the picnic bag didn't it And it came with all the all the all the all the all the decals 50th anniversary what else would the different interior? Yeah, it's a exercise.

Six floor mats, interior. I'm not sure what's different to

US Standard XR6. The seats, look, it's got the

embroidery on the seats with the 50th anniversary.

Apart from that, not, not too sure, not too certain, but I do have the, again, the general formats.

Got the picnic basket, I think it came with a chair as well, but that's about it. So I'll put it all back in and

just sort of draw it to the all four days.

I don't know. I've had it registered and not

registered. I reckon I've had three Rd

movies on that over the last 10 years because I've taken it off, they put her on the road. Taken off the road because I

keep on getting over cars and I can't afford the registration.

I don't want to clock up the Clippers.

If you have the registration, I'll end up driving it.

It's got 44,000 right now. Well, and you put and then have

to be and you quite literally put 40,000 cases of that on in like 2 years. And then you stop trying again.

But two or three years and that was it.

I'll stop driving it. Well, I drove it sort of

occasionally here and there, yeah, but it's sort of card at Aldi's value if the kilometres are kept fairly low as soon as they start putting on eighty $90,000, but they they start dropping in price dramatically. Hmm.

I took the blade, I got prime position because I got there a bit early at the show, so I've got a nice little pussy.

Yeah, it was actually fantastic turnout.

We just gave the car a good scrub beforehand and amazing mate made a friend across the road.

was cleaning, he came around and said ohhhhh, do you wanna use a pressure washer and everything so.

Cool. And he's a bit of a a car guy

too. So he had tonnes of products.

He's like, I'll try this one, try this one, have a look at this wheel cleaner. And yes, it was.

It was really good. Had a good chapter while

cleaning the cars like 5 at night or something, so it's really good. He's good job, good neighbour to

meet. I bought a little because every

time I go to the show, whether it's Classic Japan or Sucker Picnic, always end up buying something, always a little model. This time I've got this one here

on the on the. It's cool.

Police car form It's got the little Motocompo.

Grab that one, Scotty bought that to sculptor David.

I must admit I didn't look too closely at the at the thought.

Scotty bought it and then he. Didn't say anything about it on

the day, mind you, it was. So, So what he's done he's he's

he's bought an undisclosed price and he will see selling it to you for 299 or nearest offer. Yeah, that's cause so I got

there just was it was almost 9:00 and like oh, I'll go you know go for a walk. So I'll go have a look and

they're still setting up the stall and then that was the one that was there. So I thought, I'll grab it now.

So I got him before anyone else. Nice.

Because I used to always just go for the Hot Wheels ones.

And I'm like, Nah, they're not doing it as much for me.

They're, you know, 64 ones, actually.

Really, really cool. Yeah, they're.

It's car wise still 31 is still sitting there.

Gotta do a day where can just organise and start ripping that 31 apart and slapping a transmission.

pictures of that. But this model that just

released recently. And. $68 tiger furries and that

may not make in colour metallic brown like coming through colours like green and it's called a mega Navy which which is a metallic blue. In most of them were blue, I

think. Would they?

The remaining were brown and green, the last 200.

Wow. I mean, Rob, you could sell all

Knowing what that will, you couldn't even get rid of them at one stage and there's a couple sitting on the trees rusting away at one stage. No deposit taken, does it say on

that? Yeah, it says.

UM deposit taken and was 1/4 of a million price $250,000.

Deposit taking would be very reluctantly given back.

That's a bad. That's that's a bold price to

ask for a car that was, yeah, far and away not the prettiest thing ever built in Australia. That for the coop, you know, the

cops, I, I thought look quite nice styling wise.

That was sort of a bit Rover wish.

They weren't. Yeah.

Fine. So actually building A47V that

they're going to actually race at Bathurst, which never eventuated, yeah. So yeah, it was a car that would

have liked to have had and I could have had.

I could have bought one at one stage I could have gone for about $8000. This is back in the late 80s,

early 90s. Probably could have should have

water, but it didn't so. You could, you could have

OK, so I have this week. I've got the deregistration

certificate for the N1, the the incoming N1, hopefully incoming N1. There's still been no ruling on

anything that's been discussed in regard to the this whole time airport approval however, the only.

I think, David, unless you're about to mention it, there is like an upcoming meeting. OK.

They've been two of those already and nothing's come from those. OHS There's another one, May 15.

May 15, Like I said, it's next Tuesday.

It's Tuesday week, so Wednesday would Prince tomorrow.

Week. David Prince will not be on the

podcast that evening. Well, maybe.

I may be very happy. On the podcast, Yeah, Look the

the both the SO the Compliance Workshop have come back to me and said you're actually still allowed to continue to apply for import approval, they're just not granting them at the moment.

So they've said you can, you can still continue to apply for the import approval and the process goes on.

However, if they decide they're not going to import cars, which is very unlikely, it looks like they'll be restricted to certain models and certain after certain year builds and stuff.

So the very little information we've got now says that my car should be OK because of the build date.

We're not count Now Ducks just yet.

We'll just wait and see. But quietly optimistic, I think

you'd have to say. Took the Grand Prix Civic to

Sakura Picnic on the weekend, which was great fun.

It's had a bit of work done on it recently and is driving just great. That was fun.

And I was going through my phone literally today and this name popped up and I thought that I had no idea who Tim Canberra is.

And then it hit me that that was the guy that sold me the car in 2019. So I it was because he was in

Cambridge. See the association.

I've never deleted his phone, so I don't know what.

So I I tracked a few photos through to it and straight away I'm gonna text back and I'll read it.

I just said a totally random text.

I just noticed your number in my contacts list.

I bought your dad's old Civic in 2019.

Just thought you might like to know about fully restored back on the road and was it this display on the weekend?

And straight away replied that's so cool.

Thanks for sharing. My dad would be so happy.

It's got a new lease of life. It was a brilliant car and I'm

thrilled to see seeing it looking so snazzy now.

Stacy's a word you don't hear very often these days, but I think it applies in this instance.

Restoration and thanks for the update.

So I thought, well, that's cool. That's spreads a little bit of

joy to someone's day, doesn't it?

I like it. I love stories like that.

That's great. Yeah.

Yeah. So, so that was great.

The. Workers.

Are the things. Have moved along with the the

Accord I had the I had a paint correction process done on it by a mate last couple of days last week which is just.

Just been. Incredible the results. 90% of

that paint on that car was original and it has come back as good a showroom, as close to showroom as you could get for a 30 year old car. It's.

In having an auto trans service this week and they replacing a front engine mount which we can't get from Honda now, but we can get an aftermarket one for 110 bucks because the other one is actually split in half. So how the car is actually even

driving as good as it did I don't understand.

But and I was driving it to the workshop yesterday and I just thought this is such a good car and I couldn't put my finger on it And I realise that it's that Accord range and like a lot of cars like the E Class range in the Mercedes you know, it's it's beautifully engineered, it's a good size.

It's not too overdone and it's not underdone.

And I think the Accord range fits in that space for Honda.

I mean I love Legends. I've had a few Legend coops.

My daughter it hayem, if you're listening she had a Legend coupe for her first car. They all raised really light in

the steering and and didn't have a fragility about them.

But it always thought, oh, what could go wrong?

You know, it was quite expensive.

How to maintain and stuff and you know the Civics are great, but but there are smaller lighter sort of style car.

The Accord just has a real sort of solid presence on the road and I think in a lot of ways it's sort of the sweet spot and and with this thing with 470,000 K so that it's done just drives brilliantly. So I'm.

I'm thinking that one's gonna be staying around for a little while yet. So you will get to drive it.

Oh yeah, I was. Just I wanna drive that.

That'll be a lot of issue. But every.

Everyone I, I, I show pictures to and I've shown that video to a few people in the last couple of days and you know, they they just can't believe that it's the age of it, that it is and it's done the case. I mean it's it's remarkably

good. So that's continuing to and

they'll be on club plates soon, so.

Aerial Masters broken. Well, everyone in The Wreckers

and everyone I've seen on the road since is also broken and it's because it comes on and off obviously when you hit the button. But it's on the rear left hand

guard, so it sort of stands out, a bit like a shag on a rock when it's up and they're easily knocked or bumped or some people go through. Those.

Horrible things called car washes and you know we're listening to the radio bought the first thing that goes as the aerial gets ripped off and this one's got a very sort of Gerry Maid extension holding it upright.

But it works. The radio works, but I mean I've

ordered the new shark that goes just feet to the electric motor which is still working for 30 bucks so that should be an easy fix too so. Yeah, we're coming along.

Very well, they can't. So I'm.

Excited to see things started to drive that one alarm.

DMAX is due for ServiceNow Hmm. I think this time it's only been

it's been the 12 months rather than case the case.

Last year we got to the 15,000 cases quickly.

This you not so much. I think it's sitting at about

25,000, so done about 10,000 cases a year, which is usually not my average here for the cars.

So I'll get that booked in this time.

I'm trying to get the little automatic locking for the tailgate actually installed because last time they were absolutely useless about it. Like, would you in touch with

POTS guys, I'm like, OK like this, how much is like, what about the installation? Like, do you not coordinate?

Because I don't just want the part, I do want it installed if I'm going through you guys, otherwise I'll just get the cheap version of online, but hopefully that happens.

If it doesn't, well, I was probably just dry it.

Now that I hear that Rob's got a hoist, will the, you know, help out a poor Indian man? You know, use some hoist time

who does available. Actually took the 36 at the

house last night and took the the the 4:30 for a drive to the workshops to get them sprayed up.

So I bought the other cars back home, so the hoist is free at the moment. So for how long I don't know.

and Schrader and basically I met Ed first.

He was a strange around for a bottle of water and he's like alright let's go meet the rest of the gang.

And like on our way to meet the rest of the gang, Ed had been stopped by like 3-4 people, so we we had spent like 45 minutes on the way to meet the rest of the king.

I don't think I'm going to the rest.

Of the game at this rate, you know, eventually we got there.

I actually had a tasteful experience with the one and only Honda Civic Grand Prix that David wrote.

The lovely little car, it is a lovely little.

It's a gorgeous little example, that.

You know that. That's the kind of car that

could make me be a member of the Honda Car Club.

We had a red Civic sedan and a Civic Shuttle shuttle, so we were like a Honda, Honda, Honda. So, so, so.

That would be your wheelhouse, that, that area of Honda.

On top that is cash, but yeah there's a lot of little cotton.

It really shows I guess that you've put in care and effort and you being the interior God that we know, you know you've obviously it looks real mint. It's unbelievable.

Yeah, it's one of. Those cars, like has this car

just been sitting, sitting in a showroom where like maybe they've had a person sitting in for a little while, maybe going test drive and that's about it because it's a very clean on the inside And that blue, you know, it's just, I love it you.

Should you should drive that element is so sweet to drive.

It is a beautiful he had. A Merry Jay drive around the

paddock. Yeah, Did you?

Pick one and I was like, I'd like to just give it a little bit more about the terrain just wasn't for it so but it was.

The four wheel drive shuttle. Sadly, yeah.

But this was lovely. Like just something so analogue,

classic, having the choke and like this.

This does take me back to cars that we had in the olden days.

We like to give us some gas. Actually starts up the car.

Yeah. But yeah, I love the experience.

You know, I had took quite a few photos of a few different cars.

There's a number of centuries there.

Um, there's one in. I think it was a blue that

looked quite lovely, but it was bagged and yeah, yeah, yeah.

And yeah, it's a pretty pretty solid experience overall, so.

Let's get into, let's get into Sakura picnic because so you rocked up as you would say Indian late.

In the afternoon, In the afternoon.

It got it got relegated to like the regular parking right?

I don't even wash. It was like dirty as like you

know I should have as David said take like a for sale sign you should have yeah I do it in the car was probably would have devalued situation but. So you rocked up, you made the

two hour, so you made the half an hour trip to Sakura, then the four hour trip to meet the gang. Yeah, because by that.

Time Cosmos started to leave. So favourite colours that you

saw there, there. Was like David, Civic was

lovely. There was, I believe an older

Civic was an Rs it. Was that was.

Probably the one that caught my eye the most I I've.

Again, I'm not super well versed in in the early.

Civics. But that looked real, real nice.

It actually is a replica as like like Rob's laser, it's a very well done replica. Again, like Rob Slater, it's

because the IRS. Would um, was the sporting.

Model in the first Gen Civic, so was released in Japan.

I think 74 so 5 speed Taco different trim and cab engine and yeah this guy in the club is is a guru with Harveys and stuff and and that car is just lovely very reliable and he's had had it restored now for about 20 years I suppose and brings it out to shows and stuff. But it's a lovely example and

fun factor that we actually had parked next to it a Phoenix orange 2023 Civic Rs. So the badge banned from the

two, the two cars which shows that nod sort of 50, almost 50 years apart and it's, I think I've said on the show before, it actually stands for roadside sailing.

It doesn't stand for rally sport.

So that's that's a really cool car and a lot of people commented on that car and took photos and stuff because it's pretty unusual to see clean ebb one now but and that that certainly any good example. Just as a context for listeners

you have listened to previous episodes occurring is a Japanese car show that's that gets held by the Toyota car Club of Victoria. I am every year they they do

they two big events is that one and they do classic Japan at the end of the year so this one's an all Japan friendly but also Asian now. Yeah.

So the the, the changes this year, so they allowed Korean cars and in case some I think Proton you know taking the.

Max you could have taken. The Max it's.

It's Japanese. Company Thailand maybe.

Doesn't matter. So so yeah really it's probably

one of the the the more premier events on the calendar in terms of car shows in in in probably Australia.

I'd say it's it's a massive massive event always good turn out every year. So Alan that was your, that was

your pick. Yep that's your pick.

I'm doing this to start off. With with my photos, something

very simple, not really much done to it, but it wasn't that far from where the Hondas were situated.

It was just a Suzuki Vitara. There's a new one and I just

really, really liked the colour. It was a.

Great colour, yeah. Nice kind of bluish green

colour. Look fantastic, Love the colour.

Colour. In a car, like, like, you know,

colours in a car, you know, make it, make it interesting, oh.

Yeah. Big time.

I think it's important. Let's just keep it up.

Car companies, We like different colours, you know We do.

We do do it the next. One is the Bluebird Ventura.

Is it really nice? Bluebird venture there just like

that. You been there?

Nice even has the dealer dealer sticker on the side there too, which was pretty cool. That's pretty.

Just so I really enjoyed that one out in the parking lot was too 400 and sits there and Nismo one just a normal 1.

So that was awesome to see two of those parked there together.

They're probably still. Owned by Nissan because I

haven't really sold any. Probably too expensive.

I really thought that was pretty neat by the P plater.

Pretty much half $1,000,000 right there over 34G DRM spec.

Oh yes, this was a nice colour. There was adapts in U there.

It's like the red on like a cream on the back there.

So that look really neat. I saw photos.

Of that on Instagram. It's kind of like a candy red,

really. And yeah.

Yeah, candy. Candy apple red with a creamy

interior. It looked it looked lovely.

It looked beautiful. And then we had the three round

of beast. Oh yes, that.

But the fact of the matter is that some of these parts are getting very, very hard to get, like belt mouldings and all that, all that sort of stuff. Yeah, like they know they're the

first things to really perish in a car and they and once they gone, they're gone. Like they know when everybody's

nobody, nobody's repairing them. So I guess, you know, and I

found that really hard with my MR2.

She found it very hard because I didn't know anybody in the MR2 game here in Australia in particular, you know, I've had to get all my parts from the UK, not even Japan could help me.

But you know and that's so that's saying something like all like Japan's like, well that's a rare car.

Like you know, they they don't, they don't really have anything for them. I had to get all my, all my bits

and pieces from from the UK because they they they seem to be the place which is which I found astonishing.

But there's a website called 2 Zaras that I was the most dodgiest website. Everyone's like, well, if I buy

some some stuff will it actually wife.

And then everyone's like, yes. On the forms they will be.

Even though it's a doggy website, they they're very good and and they make, you know like bits and pieces like 4 for the electric window motors that the gears and stuff and and you know, just just to keep them going.

But in terms of full body parts and stuff like that and trims and things, they they they make, they're trying to but they're not doing they're not doing enough.

Like for example like you could essentially rebuild a, you know, VW Combi or a Beetle or a or you know, GTHO from from you know, from from part from from Brainerd if you eat to, you know start to finish. You know.

And I I rule the day that I said I like earlier like I've gotta, you know, get my laser you know, I want to kind of, you know, redo the body like the interior is fine but the body works just hammered And I'm just like, well, you know, the the the side skirts or got cracks in them. You know, the the the the the

bars have got cracks in like they just it's just just 330,000 cases of wear and tear, you know.

And I'm just like, well, you know I've every time I go to the record, I look for belt. Mouldings.

And I look for the and they're all cooked.

They're all stuffed. There's like, they're all,

they're all terrible. So I'm like, well, you know,

they're going to be as bad as each other.

What's the point? So you're stuck in that kind of

means land. Of the cars are old enough now

that they're needing these parts but I guess they're not necessarily popular enough to for there to be a demand for those parts. It's a it's a difficult kind of

situation. I mean that's where I think part

of the evolution of 3D printing is is kind of a great option where like you know what I'll make my own part and if it's if it's good enough and you know, you go through a few iterations, it can actually be like you're the person that now sells it.

I think a lot of that like hobbyist activity of like with with 3D printing being so much more accessible that kind of stuff. Like there may be people that

are really passionate who had a problem or something and they can be that part of the community with like, you know, I'll make these and I'll, you know, send them on.

Some people might just buy them as preventative maintenance because everyone knows that this gear always breaks or something in the window motor, like let's all just my set and yeah, and hang on to it, that sort of stuff like I.

I know, I know. With with my laser in

particular, like every time I go to the records and I see some hard to get bits, I just take them off.

Like, you know, whether whether it be a switch, whether it be like those fog lights I've got like another, you know, like three sets. I think I've got of them because

I remember when I when I when I cracked my turning into a hoarder. Now you're the culprit.

There's no light. When I.

When I. When I cracked one, I've got a

stone chip on one. They wanted 606 or $700.00 for

one and I'm like, I'm like, you guys are insane.

It's a Ford laser that's worth that's 1/4 of the car and like, Oh no, that's how much they go for.

And then someone backed into me and broke it anyway so I couldn't replaced it. But you know every time I see

well, you know I get him from like you know the the doing yourself breakfast like, yeah, yeah, or for a reasonable price.

But that's because I know they're gonna they're getting harder to get bits and pieces for the cars.

You know, almost 25 years and which in the grand scheme of things is not that old. But when they're when they're

all, you know, meeting their fate by the good big graveyard in the sky, it's just it's they're getting hot and they're getting harder to get. And a lot of the good parts are

getting to see the thrown away or because it was like no ones gonna want this to later. Who cares?

And you know, like, having said that though, like like my typhoon's 20 years old this year, like it's, it's, it's, it's not it's it's, I can't believe it's 20 years old like that. If it feels insane to me that

that that car is is 20 years old and even now I'm like, well, I should start like, you know, going to record and see if there's any hard to get like bits of trim and things.

I just put them away and pass out in case anything happens.

But in the same token, I'm like, well, the card's fine.

So but you know, it's just, it's it's it it kind of plays you mind, do I get the stuff now while I still can?

And that way that way you know, get into, you know, get into it early or excited many pieces you need.

All orders to keep these parts for future.

I know what are the P 76ers are on the roads.

Well today are kept on the roads because of these hoarders that they'll. Cut back.

When they'll dimmer, doesn't. Not cutting up the path, storing

the parts, stashing them away, keeping every part that they put for for when that time comes. Like this day and age to keep

those cars on the road. Well.

Say a lot of times. Depending on the.

Car you have like if someone's got an R31 a lot of times it's not their only 31 yeah it's that's their good are 31 two two other 30 ones have like donated parts into yeah try to get the one good. 1. Sad.

You know it's sad but it's true right.

Like for like I mean they would you do a lot of records as we all do you know and and I know when I went to the gearbox with with you like it it's quite literally in Aladdins cave like you've got everything from scams to cause the civics.

You know bits and pieces of trim and bits and pieces of this and and a random switch knob and this and that and I'm like far out. Like that's it's it's it's it's

awesome. It's really really cool And I'm

like well you know if if I if I need anything and I have needed stuff for the SCAMP like I've you've been the guy.

Yep, Yep. I should have showed up one of

those and and and you've been fantastic with that but like my my, my mum's XR8 for example you know I think I showed you over the the light switch button the the white.

You know, it's it's peeling off just wearing off and everyone at the records is either gone or the even worse condition.

I've checked the line and there's a really bad like, you know, remake replacement and it looks really tacky and I'm like, I'm not gonna put that on it. So I'm like fire.

Even even a car from the 90s is getting hard to get bids for like. So it's it's it's it's getting

to the point where like I'm doing a lot of records just to find a little bit to trim and and bits and pieces and if I find 2 I just take them, I'm like well you know they coming home with me. So you got me thinking of the.

The little top garnish bit for the ICC of like BA and BS.

The triangle. The little triangle like.

You got? Rick is like if you find one

that's not broken like you, you'd have better luck finding like, the Holy Grail just every single.

Car you step into. It's broken.

You step into somebody that's using their car that's also broken. Like, you just have to.

You have to order a new if there's no option.

Otherwise, dude, I'm I'm terrified of.

Of of the one in the typhoon because it's it's the it's the gauge pod. The gauge pod feel worse and

like you know apparently it's stronger because it's got you know it's recessed. But I'm terrified of breaking

that because I've seen them online go for a you know a damaged one is like 800 bucks. I'm like that's insanity.

What the hell Like I'm not paying 100 bucks for a piece of plastic but you know if you want your car perfect you might have to you know. So yeah.

So it yeah it's one of those things that it's kind of like a a you know what are you what are you doing.

So would you recommend there was someone who could repair?

Plastics in the current areas, I think.

I've got a couple. Pieces for those roof racks,

to get the bits, and. Pieces together.

No donor roof. Parts Well, I'm I'm actually

terrified. Of of cause like to to respray

the car properly the ways that you have to take the roof rails off but to take them off properly you gotta remove the headliner of the car because it's it's it's all underneath the headliner. So I'm terrified that as soon as

I start to unbolt them or get them, they just going to strip because they just the they're going to just shut up really easy off. Unbolted, Quite a few of them.

They're quite easy, don't bolt and they come apart quite easily. It's just taking the clip off

the top because and I am bald so I I sort of started taking it the the top part off and that's when they crack up top.

But if you can get you should be able to get it off from the bottom. So once you rip the roof lining

off just loosen off the nuts and the whole thing should come off in one piece. I think I might have.

To account. Easy.

Because I'm terrified that Rob and I've just I've like it it's it's going to break I don't know it's it's like it's 100% fail rate it's gonna it's going to break into this this there's no there's no other option it's going to break.

So yeah, that that that's that's kind of kind of my thing.

But would you guys recommend like like hoarding, like not hoarding hoarding but like you know getting getting those hard to. Find bits if you go and get to.

Records and saying, hey, you know, I'll grab that and have that for you for a rainy day because I think.

It's getting harder to get. You've got the.

Space, yeah, if you got. Space.

Then bottle means just, you know, I'd say spirex, and then just, you know, shut them up yourself and just, you know, have your catalogue parts. But if you don't have space, I'd

say the most logical thing to do would be parts that you've broken previously and break again.

Get a couple of those. Something that hasn't broken but

is known to break. Just get one and if it's a car

that you're going to. Keep just fine that you love and

want to keep. Then do it just get.

One, and I mean. If you become good with 3D

printing and it's only going to get better, yeah, true, this gotta have one. Get the dimensions.

But go nuts, I colour some parts the other.

So you can get the scanners with your 3D printers and scan to scale off you go. Want to do that because.

Like, you know there there's some bits and pieces that like I got another. What's it called?

The Renault 16 that. That.

It owns the the sun visor clips. They're all broken and and you

cannot you cannot buy them. And I'd love to scan it to to

scan what's left of it and then just add like an extra bit of a flick on Blender or something to it and then make that you know and and and that. That would be amazing, but

there's a lot of stuff coming out.

Of Poland and Slovakia and places like that.

I coloured some bits the other day for an old SL Benz that had.

When I say old, it wasn't a it was a late night, it was mid 90s one. So it was the 129.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. And that, yeah, they got these

replacement parts for the little flaps over the vanity mirrors in the sun visors and things like that.

They're just all a bit off colour so all I had to do was scuff them back and colour match them to the vinyl and they look great and they were 3D printed. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Cool and obtaining prevents. Right, because beans are pretty

good at that. They normally used to supply

parts for up to 20 years, right? That's right.

That's right. But some of the little, tiny,

little trinkets and stuff, No. And if you did that, they wanted

drug money. For them if if they were

original too. What were you gonna say?

I was gonna. Say with the.

XY's because the seat belt kind of falls back behind the seat.

Some enterprising young individuals have decided to make these little 3D printed devices that they bolt into where seat belt, belt and they stick out a little bit, just enough so that the seat belt stays kind of where you grab a normal car and the quite a cool part only problem is they want like 70 bucks a piece for you know, I understand they give you the STL you know like there's. A bit of R.

And D But I'm like, let's be real, like if it's supposed to be or the other release the 3D printing, I guess files, DSL files or just put them in a more reasonable price.

So that's something like price do you record for?

Those, I'd say about 30 apiece, yeah, yeah.

Cuz it's 70 bucks for a whole roll of filament?

Really. Yeah.

So, and they don't take a whole, they'll take you know a bees wizard over. Yeah.

So you'd be able to make but I'd say.

Depending on the size of your role like probably 10 plus per role and if that's the case like even at 30.

It's also once you've done the design, it's unattended time.

It's not like you have to be there and 3D extrude it yourself. The printer is doing the job.

Like if there were more reason price I'd say they'd sell more.

But again, I'm not the one making it, so I I'd rather just be the 1 making it for myself and be like, screw you guys.

Uh, that's not also. If I was able to come up with

something, probably release the STL file for free if it's just adding a little bit of kind of comfort to your fellow car owners and there's some. Great stuff.

There's some great sources out there, like and then you can buy parts. I bought a few bits from.

Not bought. I downloaded the files from my

MR2. So you wouldn't download a car,

would you? Remember that?

I. Downloaded the the hood prop

clip because that mum was broken on the MR2.

Downloaded. Downloaded that file.

Downloaded a couple other little little files for that car.

Printed them at work, obviously, you know paid for you know and and use them and they're all perfect.

And you know like someone had someone I just said yeah look you know this is a neat they all break.

Let's just make you one. And it's been in the current so

you don't. Yeah, Modern problems with

I know Leyland Car Club being apart stick for the club for quite a few years. We would have custodians have

Not so much the tail lights, the headlights, the number plate lights. We used to reproduce all of

them. Injection, mould, brand new

indicator lights, so we had the dice so it would affect.

Yeah, we. Got all of the dice and and

started making their own and we still they still produce them now that's cool because. Everyone smashed the left hand

indicator. Light on them so everyone wanted

just left hand side. Did you make?

We. Used to make the order but we we

used to do a batch of you know 4 or 500 and I'd be sitting more Andrew and assembling them and selling them and sitting around Australia. How many?

Because they come in, yeah, yeah, they painted orange and you know, amber or whatever and you know they're blacked out and silver inside. Well, I I made it, you know the

standard ones for myself but also make clear ones so I can put the orange indicated globe in it.

So I've got unique ones as well which didn't come from factory, you know. So we've still got them stored

away. So yeah it was, it was, it was,

it was good to keep the cars on the road even back then.

And then a lot of cars and a lot of people in the club.

We used to have like 200 cars in the club in Victoria alone.

Wow you. Know, and I think the answer

probably. Now I'm not sure how big the

club is because everything is online, but there'd be at least hundreds of. Members but.

You know you wouldn't be online to get 5060 cars, I think around. Long.

Story short, start scanning parts, I think.

heat was wasn't super high so I picked up the steak to put the steak on and the things well just just call for was like oh I'm sorry that I kind of panicked and and I put the I just carried it to the sink and put her on water.

But I'm like, that doesn't work. So because because oil at all,

you know, the oil and water kind of like like it was getting worse. So it eventually went out.

And I'm like, I just panicked her.

I was like, oh, I was having flashbacks, deja vu all over again. And yeah, this is possibly

that's that's when Matt learned the value.

Of having the five blanket in the kitchen.
