So that's, yeah, they're ridiculous and impossible to find, like get parts for.
I mean, not fine, but it's just everything is a process, right?
And it takes time.
And when it comes, you know, when, when you need componentry,
it's, it's all going to have to be, you know, ordered and blah, blah, blah,
where I was using that as an example, like on the rally,
when, when the map sensor failed on me, I literally just went to the
O'Reilly's down the street and got a TSX type S map sensor that they had on the
shelf, you know, and yeah, and the good news also is that
a lot of the stuff also is used on, on like the Honda Element or a Honda
Accord, because the K series was, it wasn't always super high strong, right?
There was different versions of them, but when it comes to sensors and like,
you know, just like gaskets, things like that, those are all the same.
So the, this was such a mass produced motor and used in so many different
chassis that you're bound to find stuff pretty easily if you need it.
That's nice.
Yeah.
And that, that leads me to why I'm putting a Chevy 350 in my 9-11.
On bring a trailer, there's a 9-14 with an LS swap.
I don't, I don't even get it.
I, how they do it, because I was picturing that the firewall on the
trunk side was going to be compromised and they would just bleed into that
whole area, the whole back of the car, right?
Like you would need so much space and no, it fits in the old, in the old area.

an underground parking garage, right?
For all the, all the tenants and, um, there is a 996 C4S in white over
navy blue that has been there since they moved there three years ago.
And it has the thickest layer of dust, you know, um, it's got a vanity
plates on it, expired tags and, uh, all original car, like, you know, no
modifications and, um, I'm like dangerously close to putting a fucking
note on this thing.
You know, so it's a quera at four S C4S wide body, which I love white
over blue.
That's why it over blue, dude.
So sick.
Um, and, um, of course I had, you know, how to, how to pull the car fax on it.
So one owner car, uh, and I, um, I started going down the path.
I'm like, okay, what if like, I get this for a deal, right?
Because it's been sitting.
It's going to need a lot of stuff.
And I kind of like have that conversation with the owner.
Obviously at that point, I'm just starting to think, okay, all the rubber,
all the hoses, all the stuff.
And I mean, I don't care for the M 96 anyways.
So I went down that, that rabbit hole of like punching it out to a four
leader, which then, you know, you eliminate the cylinder wall problems,
right?
Because you re sleeve it.
And so like all of the stuff, right?
And I'm like thinking, I'm like trying to justify it in my head.
I'm like, dude, this is only 25 grand.
If I get the car for 25.
So now you have this like super rad package that's reliable,
that has way more power and it's a really cool color combo.
But yeah, the motor's only, you know, $40,000 and no,
also, so the thing is labor is one thing.
But like there are, there's several different companies out there who make
these now.
I know that Patrick remember years ago, try to do this and it kept blowing up on
him, but like, I guess there's a good, there's, um, I figured there's some
good ones now that there's like, I forget what the guys are called,
but like B line did that, like a very basic looking cab and they put one
of those engines in it.
Yeah.
It was very pricey.
Um, and then it did have carbon carbon brakes.
Some of those C four S's were like, no, it doesn't.
It's, it's got a, yeah, I had red calipers.
So no, I'm just steel, but I really like the look of those cars.
When I see them, I'm very, it's just something about the subtlety.
Yeah, they're, they're the best looking 996 for sure.
Yeah.
They're so rad.
And so the other thing is like, um, when I went down this rabbit hole,
I found one on BAT that they did a four liter in it and they did.
And part of the whole deal is that you go over a well drive conversion.
So now like you got like a, like a high performance, high revving, four
liter NA rear wheel drive conversion, wide body, which is like such a rad package.
Um, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's just as easy as eliminating
the front axles, like they don't even have to do anything.
It's so simple.
It's, I think Gyarados are the same.
Maybe, um, yeah, like as easy.
It's just like literally taking the shit off.
Right, right.
There's not like a crazy, uh, computer issue or, and you're not ruining
anything or really like destroying it or it's all reversible.
Yeah, it's not compromised either.
It doesn't feel like if you had a, like a nine, six, four or C four, for example,
like you just kind of leave it, right?
A nine, nine, three with all wheel drive, like nine, nine, six might be the same.
You just sort of roll with it.
I mean, I mean, it's just overkill.
Like I don't, especially here.
I mean, ironically, we're talking about the stormiest day of the year.
I know what I'm saying.
It's like, but yeah, it's like so well, like to work together and they portion
knows all wheel drive and I don't think they're, they're known for like push,
being pushed, you know, pushing or driving like an all wheel drive car really.
So yeah, it's almost imperceptible, right?
Until you get on it out of a corner or something.
But if you're able to take away weight and stuff like that's where it's at.
Yeah, because I don't think any of us are like, it's like, Hey, a more nimble
makes more for a more nimble car and we will drive like sounds pretty fun, right?
Yeah, it does.
I guess I just, I don't want to try it on like a rally and see if I had any
problems with it because I don't think you'd be disappointed with the all
wheel. Such a good package.
Yeah. Yeah.

But the key there being is the way I was justifying it is like, it's because
it's a C four S is like cool looking one.
Like if it was a standard, yeah, six, you can get those for super cheap.
And in theory, you can throw 25, 30 grand at one.
And even if you just go with the three eight and just replace all the internal
stuff that fails, you know, because you do head work, you do the IMS, of course.
And then you'd re sleeve it for the because, you know, it has that chunking
failure, the, what do you call it?
Boar scoring.
Yeah, I was going to say score boring or score.
But yeah, you have to be a fan of that.
And then at that point, you're absolutely like if I'm saying this ironically
with my E 30, because I've spent so much money on it, but I don't really care
about the, you know, the return on it.
But like in that case with a nine and six, you're absolutely not getting your
fifty thousand dollars back on your twenty thousand dollar nine and six.
Right.
So no, but you might get it back on a C four S.
If you pay a small enough amount, right?
Right.
Yeah, there's money to be you start doing the math.
It's like if you can get it for twenty twenty five and those normally go for
thirty five forty in stock, look decent shape and then you invest X amount, but
it's also just that package like having that white over yachting blue.
And then you're making a wide body GT three, essentially at that point.
And it's like a pretty sick thing that never existed.
So yeah, we have they do look so good with that rear bump.
Those slits, those slats in the rear bumper.
It's like it looks kind of like a roof or something.
It's totally good looking.
And I would I'm controversial here, but I wish it had the early headlights.

I'm excited for the start of the race because they have this crazy launch
procedure. So like how they have to spool up the turbo and so they have to
sit there like revving for a, for a long time, figure out that, that like process.
And then they're still figuring it out, right? Yeah.
Because it's really inconsistent.
They're saying how some guys can actually get going a lot quicker and some are
slower. So that's problematic, you know, at the start, if you're not, if your
car's not ready to take off.
So they're thinking about revisiting the regs and actually adding more time to
the start so that they have more start, more time to actually like get their
cars going. What about, um, like when you leave the pits, is that the similar
process or is that totally different? It is, right?
Same. Yeah, because that's always a little bit tricky too. I mean, they make it
look so easy, but man, getting the power down and, and like a maneuvering out of
their pit box and like getting, dude, it's, it's definitely something they're
trying to figure out right now. Yeah. Um, but I also just, it seems like the
overarching theme though is like way less grip, right? So that means the cars are
going to move around a lot more and, um, you know, some, some have complained
about it, right? I think it was, um, I don't know. I think it was, uh, uh, shoot.

all right. Life is swell.co. Is there any way to get some 225s to fit under an E 30 without
rubbing? Hell yeah, dude. That's what I was running. My crisp handling were tons. There's
totally possible. I will say that my front tires rubbed for like 20 miles and then it shaved
off just enough on the inside that was rubbing against the strut housing. It didn't affect the
tires at all. You know, longevity or like safety wise and everything was good after that. So that
was on lowered suspension and stock like BBS basket weave style wheels. Yeah. Yeah. I had a 225
A05 twos on there RS threes. Yeah, you can do a bunch. It helps alignment helps a lot.
That's a big one. You know, because it especially when you're trying to avoid getting on the lip
or the outer, I think on the inner is like Warren's talking about that really is offset dependent. So
alignment offset have a lot to do with this. So the other thing too is that like Warren was running
a really narrow tire, but I'm sorry, narrow wheel and obviously the wider the wheel, the more
the sidewall will get pushed out and like that could be a factor and more a factor in the rear
on the later cars. So 1988 through 92, if you will, they have a lower rear arch. So if you look at
the back rear arch, it comes down way lower than the early cars and so that's more prone to rubbing
and that's where you see a lot more rubbing on on the later cars versus the earlier cars.
So that's one thing to consider. But yeah, it's very, very much a thing, very doable. Yep,
very doable. I haven't, I don't know. Yeah, it all depends on what wheels you're running. Right.
Bobby Reed with the cars says my 60th birthday is in August. Bobby, you don't look a day over
59. I'll say that with confidence. I agree. My wife announced that we are renting houses on an
island on the Puget Sound and inviting all of our car friends for a two-day rally on the Olympic
Peninsula. We have a route and we'll pre-run it when the roads open. What advice do you have for
pre-running a rally? You know, I thought this was going to end with an invite. I'll be honest. I
know where is our say? Where's our invite dude? Tell me how to do this, but you guys are not welcome
with the fucking awesome shit we're doing. I thought we were the homies. Can you run it for us or
what? Okay. What advice do you have for pre-running a rally? Okay. First of all, how much driving
do you really want to do? Everyone can get ambitious with these fucking 300 mile days
in old cars, but when it really comes down to it, is it about the hang or is it about the drive?
Do you guys agree with this? Yes. Oh dude, I'm so with you on this. That's first thing.
And then the other thing is you probably want to drive a little more before lunch than you do
after. After lunch, you're a little sleepy. It's been a long day. Everyone just wants to get you
got up early, right? So think of a loop in the morning that's a couple hours, maybe three tops,
and then you do that being said, there is outliers, the people that will want to drive more or whatever,
but you know, for the most part, you could do optional long route if you want, or like the
more direct route back to the house. That's one thing. And then you almost want to reverse
engineer these around lunch, destination spots, regroups, et cetera,
because those are like very finite. And if you have this long ass route
into the middle of nowhere and there's nowhere to get food or gas or anything,
then that doesn't really help you. So you kind of want to like find your cool spot to have
lunch or your cool regroup or cool, whatever town. It sounds like he's got his stuff planned.
He just wants advice on pre running. Oh, okay. Well, I mean, he doesn't know the route yet,
though he could go there and be like, Oh, this route actually doesn't make sense.
Well, we have a route and we'll pre run. I mean, pre running. Okay, pre running is checking.
You really want to, you know, just checking the conditions of the roads.
There's, I think another thing is like checking that like these roads aren't,
you know, there's not driveways everywhere, like stuff like that. Be considerate about,
like be careful, like depending on how many people you have to, it's like,
if you're driving, if every road is like just house after house after house,
probably not a good road to go, you know, go on. Yep. If there's alternatives for a road,
that's where we're on remote. Yeah. I think for pre run, one thing that's really key is try to find
an average car to do it in that you think in terms of average, meaning ride height,
like all of those things, just like that you think your group will be driving because if you
have a car that's like super low and that doesn't represent the entire group or, or whatever,
or even the opposite, right? If you're in an SUV, you don't really get a sense of like,
you know, if there are surface issues or, you know, ingress, egress to driveways or wherever
you're going for these lunch spots. Like those things are, you want to, you want to have a car
that is low enough, but has, you know, that also you're comfortable in to drive around and in the
pre run and you don't necessarily need to be totally roughing it like in a, the most extreme car,
but like we used to pre run and lanes, GTI, which was perfect because it was, it was relatively
low, but you, but it was comfortable. We had AC and we could like, you know, take notes and be
chilling in there when it was quiet, but also like just enough to like as a good like baseline for
all of the cars that would be participating. Yeah. Anything and a car like that. It's like a very
capable safe car and we, we had times where like, oh, this would probably like if this car is
struggling, then like these cars with the race tires are not going to do well. Like Warren,
I did a one road and it was snowing on us and I was like, oh, this would not work. We kept
picturing Marty and Sue and their Cobra. It was like, we can't send them down this road.
I was going to say that we, in the early days, we were way more detailed with like notes on the
roads and it was too much information. It was like, watch out for this cattle. Great. And then
there's a bump over here and there's a bird shit over there and a fucking stick on the ground. Like
you want to be pretty broad with your like notes and I don't know how many people are going with
you, but that's one thing. And then yeah, rather than that, you just say on this road has some
potholes, watch out for potholes or something like at the mile marker. Exactly. Like dude,
we were getting so in the weeds. That was like Brian's thing too. Like he kind of like
pretending it was like a real rally. Like every turn was like, you know, seven left into four
right. It's like correct. Exactly. Watch out for the mailbox. But you end up as a driver,
especially if you don't have a co-driver, you can't follow the notes like that well. So you want
like a general statement about the road that's coming up that says, Hey, like this is really
serious. You know, don't push too hard or like watch out for gravel, you know, halfway down
or something like that. Yeah. I think that that's a key, right? If you're pointing out everything,
then nothing's important. But if you're pointing out the really important things,
then that's, you know, you're going to make note of that. Yep. Yep.
Um, all right. Michelin PS five star restaurant, whatever that is. Uh, he says,
do you think performance SUV or crossovers, for example, the kind McCann GTS X three MX
five M or GMC Typhoon, et cetera, have a place on road rallies or not,
which I think he's, he's referencing like rallies like ours. Uh, yes, they've appeared on our rallies.
Um, are they our favorite cars and want a bunch of them? No, but will we deny somebody who really
wants to come? And that's what they have like an X five M, which is exactly what's appeared on our
rallies. Yeah. Or X three M X three M. Yeah. So we will allow it on definitely not a classic,
but if a typhoon wanted to come on the classic hell, yeah, hell yeah. But that's a different
story. Have fun on that. I don't know. That's like the best car for a rally though. But yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. Exactly. But, um, it would look amazing out there. Um, yeah, it'd be great.
LM002. Yes. Get out there. Yeah. I mean, it's, it's a, a lot of it is, is going back to that
sense of occasion and experience, right? And it's like, we want you to have the best experience,
but like if you're in a car that's super modern, that is extremely capable and you know, quite
frankly detached, it's not the same experience as like, it's not as involving, right? And so
like it's a different thing. Um, and you know, but yeah, and quite frankly, I'm pretty sure that
both of the X five M's and maybe an X three M that have been on were because their other car broke
and or was not available or something, right? So it was a replacement and it wasn't their first
choice, but you know, they still had a good time. It's just, you know, you ultimately bite, you
become like a de facto support vehicle because you're unlikely to break down. You have a lot of
space to carry shit if need be and you can do all that sort of stuff, right? So, um, it's just
one thing to consider. But you know what's funny that, that this came up is I just saw a super
clean, um, first, so the first generation facelifted Kyan's, you know, like I really don't like the
first ones. I think they're hideous, but the facelifted ones are pretty nice. Like they actually
have the GTS is have a cool body kit. The headlights are more kind of modernized and there
was one in like, um, I've never seen this color. It was like an olive metallic. It was like a pale
green metallic. Yeah. There's a, there's one at B line. It's a six cylinder manual.
Very cool. Yeah. In that color. That's cool. Yeah. And that's, you know, I mean,
still very modern, but the manual you add that, you know, you're adding a little bit more, but
absolutely. Or like if it had some safari-esque treatment to it, you know, that that's cool.
Yeah. Very cool. But I still would like strongly encourage them because most of these people have
a 9-11 and they're like, well, it's, uh, it's going to be rainy or like the 9-11 doesn't have
air conditioning. You're like, come on. What's your guys, what's the least engaging car you
guys have driven on a rally? Well, I drove that the M five competition, but it was bad ass. I mean,
you know, I mean, it was super fun. It was easy on the like normal roads. It was easy, right?
You're one hand driving, not thinking much about it, but it had the same power at sea level as it
did at 8,000 feet because of the turbos and it just ripped on those long sweeping roads that we had
like over the Sierra and back. Yeah. So that made it really cool. Um, downside is that it's not my
car. And so I felt like constantly protective of it. Like I don't, I'm not going to push it too
hard, right? So that kind of hurts your like rally experience a little bit. Yeah. And I'm
guessing for you, for you land, it's probably the GTI borrowed. Oh, it's definitely a GTI. And
that, you know, that gets back to like, that's also a pretty entertaining little hatch compared
to an SUV. Right. And, uh, I was pretty, like pretty bored. I would say a lot of the time. Yeah.
Where on, on roads where I would, I know it'd be so fun in my 944, my 9-11, like, um, comfortable,
was just kind of a little bit like too comfortable, too quiet, too easy to like, to like, uh, and
just, you know, front wheel drive is so confidence inspiring and just kind of like not twitchy and
you know, just kind of does its thing. Yeah. Yeah. I could definitely see that. How about you, Art?
Yeah. Yeah. I'm thinking, um, I think the, the Corvette was the most modern thing I drove that,
that ground sport, but it was a manual rear wheel drive, like high horsepower V8. It was
pretty fun. Yeah. And those are kind of hairy too. So yeah, it was a blast. I actually had a really
a good time in it, but, um, yeah, that would, but even then that wasn't like the most detached,
right? Cause it was still a pretty engaging car. It was a manual too, right? Was that? Yeah. It was
a manual. Yeah. Manual. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So that's a little different than an X, X3M or very
different. Yeah. And it was also convertible. So like that's also, you got some sense of occasion
there, right? Top-down motoring is always fun. Yeah. That's, that's a real sports car. Like the,
the M five is capable, but it's an automatic and super plush. So big, big. So you lose like all
of that, like a lot of the tactileness. It's, it's definitely a hammer. I'm kind of going through
the list of all of my cars that I've driven. I mean, and they were all pretty, pretty fun. I mean,
you know, it's kind of funny. We just talked about this recently, but it might have been the NSX.
I mean, my NSX, I think that would have been the most comfortable, like most, like less
least drama, right? Like, like pretty relatively easy. And with that gearing, it's just not very
like manic or, you know, it's not like, yeah, has long legs. Yeah. It definitely on some of the
wide open sections. It can be really fun, right? Because it's like very capable in that sense,
but like the tight twisty stuff is like, yeah, it's, it's tricky. You like the steering in the
NSX. I hate the steering. Oh, really? I loved it. I thought it was like dead kind of feeling.
I didn't drive it a lot, but the times I did, it was, yeah, no, I didn't. Yeah, the steering was
fine, except that it, because the first cars were unassisted. So like when you're like just
initially getting going, it was very heavy, but once you get moving, it's fine. And just that,
that driving position and where the wheels are, the front wheels are in relation to the view
outs. It's just killer. Yeah. There's definitely a lot going for it from a driving experience,
but it's, I'd say like compared to everything else, right? Because everything else would have
been more exciting, right? Like, yeah, compared to that. Ben Roget says, what's the farthest you
drive for killer tacos? It's all relative, dude. I'm trying to say, would I drive to Watsonville
just for lunch? Damn, that's not how far at all. That's what I'm saying. I mean, that's also,
you're also hitting like, you're hitting 20 taco shops on the way there. Like what if you live
somewhere where there's like nothing, right? Then how far would you drive? Right? It's a destination,
right? By the way, a new taco shop in Capitola Lane. You got to try. What is it? It's by Gales.

sorry. This is a long time ago though. Yeah. If you're just hitting up lunch, just going to tacos,
how far? I don't know. I could see doing an hour each way. Well, it depends too. What if it is a
rad drive? What is the killer drive? That's my Ohai Friday thing where I go for, I go to that one
little cafe, you know, early in the morning and it's, it's technically 45 minutes for my house,
you know, so yeah, I mean, I go to, I drive to Alice's for lunch. Alice's isn't anything
of right home. That's the drive, the drive is part of the experience. That's what I'm saying.
I guess I do like that taco shop in Pescadero and you know, I don't, I would go there just for that,
like to make a run of it, but I have, but that's a beautiful drive off the coast and I have equal
spots here. So I don't know. I'm, tacos are tough. That's a tough one, but I like art. You're
saying ramen, like we have no good ramen and Santa Cruz. I could definitely see driving an hour each

they'd only sold them for like three years. They didn't sell very many of them.

they are kind of cool. I think they're cool. Yeah. Ford flex is a pretty good one dude. I like that.
I like Ford flexes. I've driven them there. They actually drive. I drive with you. You,
I got car. It's the one of the only cars I've ever been. Yeah. Well, it's way the fuck back

I don't know. They're barely sold any. They're going to be super rare. That'll be one of those
like Mercury Capri convertible things that oh right the XR something. Oh yeah. Yeah.

Cars like the new the current Toyota crown are so weird and they didn't they don't sell. I never
see another. I never see the wagons. Yeah. Oh yeah. No, no, no, not the signia, but the regular,
the sedans to all the sedans weird. Yeah. I don't know why the weird car make any sense. That could
be a thing. It's just like whoa. What was going on there? Yeah. I mean there's also like
because like you have like the, the N line, right? Of like the little Hyundai N lines,
both the sedan and the hatchback and they're not under appreciated though. Yeah. They're
appreciated by like enthusiasts and journalists, but like I never see them and I think they didn't
sell very well because it was them. Like it was like their first attempt to get out there as a
performance brand, right? And like it's, you know, the early adopt adoption isn't very high
because of the brand cashier lack of, but yeah, I feel like those, I mean, they're objectively
good cars, but they just don't have as much of a following as I would have guessed that might be one.
Trying to think like any of the Genesis stuff too. Oh yeah. Genesis are so good. I know. And
they're just very rare and kind of who knows if that brand will exist. I don't know. That could
be one like the, that Genesis sedan that had the good motor and I forget what it was called,
which in the 70. Yeah. The G 70. How about a Cybertruck? Is that going to be like the coolest
thing over in 20 years? Oh yeah. No one. It's so underrated. No one. No, but I mean they kind of
are no one really like most people don't like them. I think it'll always go down as this like
stupid car, which I think at some point it'll be even more of a novelty like in 20 years or
now when it's like, yeah, you're like, oh my God, look at this thing. Dude, did that thing
Cybertruck Cybertruck. Yeah, I think it'll have to be like converted to some, you know, diesel
engine. Yeah, just like remove the body and keep all the like the mechanic dude. I think that
there's also an opportunity here for, I don't know if you guys agree with this, but like
have the Focus RS like line and like Fiesta STs, have they, or whatever the fuck they are,
have they like kind of vanished into oblivion now? Like they're, they do have a small following,
but like they don't seem to be like, is it just because they're rare? They're gone.
I think they were driven hard and put away wet and they all are old now and people,
I don't know. I don't know where they are. I used to see them all every day
and now I can't remember the last one we saw like a meat or anything. It's just like, right?
I want to say they have to have some like reliability issues or something because like
you're right. They're just, they just don't, they aren't anywhere. They vanished, right? And I feel
like, but if you find one, let's say 30 years everywhere, we like, you know, yeah, like I imagine
like 30 years from now that you find one and you upgrade whatever is like shitty on it. Like,
I think it's a pretty rad package, right? Like I'm for both of them for the, whether it be an
STRS or just the, or the fiesta. I have a controversial take. You ready?
Cue up the siren or whatever we have for these types of things. The basically like all of these
horrible buck tooth BMWs and not the M three, because those are always going to be sort of
coveted by some weirdos, but these other like the seven series that came out like five years ago
is so ugly. It's like beyond. You can't even like figure it out and those are the kind of cars
where in 30 years you're like, oh my God, I remember that because eventually they'll go away
from this. I think it'll go like so far the other way where it's like very organic, sleek, not this
like chiseled exteriors. That's my, my 30 year prediction. Huh? Well, I'm thinking, I mean,
would you say the same for a bangle, but seven series right now? Like is that that? Like I don't
really see that if I see one. If I saw a really clean bangle, but you're you're disturbed. I
wouldn't want it, but I would go holy crap. How's that thing survived? Like what a weird car? I can't
believe they made that sought after though. No, maybe I don't know. I don't know. It'll also
be such a hard thing to keep running like the bangle, but right now, you know, like those
bangle seven series are right now where they're just new electric ones will be impossible. You're
right. And all the, all the materials, like when you look at those cars, like the new five series,
I don't really have a problem with some of the design language, but the materials they use,
all this like really cheap piano black plastic and it all like looks so flimsy and cheap up close.
Do you see five series around the new ones? There's like three of them in the neighborhood and
and two of them have do school pickup. So I see it on a regular basis. So I just don't see them
and I think they're very gross. They're gross, but not as gross as the like the three and all
the electric seven is the seven's hideous. It's really bad. It's like all squared off and just
no style and the headlights are gone. Like they've like the whole face of the car is super whack.
Yeah. It's all tiny, weird. Yeah. It's a really strange car and I know I never see those either.
I mean, like previous gens, I feel like you'd see seven series all over the place. I know.
I know that's, that's kind of it where it's like, this will be one of those cars that
in 30, 20, 30 years, you'd be like, Whoa, I never saw those at the time and here's one. Like
it's kind of wild, but yeah, we did get a bonus question here from John Rye.
If you suddenly became extraordinarily wealthy, would you keep your current car and buy more cars
to go along with it or start from scratch with all new stuff? All right, you'd probably keep yours.
And why not? The warehouse has a little spot for the E30. Oh yeah. No, I would, I would want to
restore it cosmetically at that point. Like I would want to go do full glass out, like, you know,
respray on it and make it perfect. But yeah, and then just keep it like, you know, fine tuning
ITBs, different transmission, probably with different custom gear set.
Do you think you would probably replace the motor with something even more wild?
Well, I think you just iterate on this. I think there's a lot more potential on this still,
like you can go more aggressive still with it. One thing that I feel like I would want to do that
is easy, but like again, just going kind of that singer treatment is I would want to go leather,
wrap dash leather, like leather door panels that match my interior. That's not that far, you know,
that and really just don't do the dash dude. It's going to pull. It's only it's going to
look like well only. Well, I'll have you do it. So you do it right and then we'll do that
no matter what it. Yeah, it's only air conditioned. That's why I sold my Boxster dude.
Yeah, it's only in the sun, like once a once a month and otherwise it's in this
just didn't condition it man. You need to put a yeah you wipe it all down every day.
I would keep the van again for sure, but the M3 I'd probably yeah, I'd start over with that one
and and add a bunch of stuff, but the van I would do the same thing with the yard. I would go full,
you know, restoration and make it killer. Yeah, I think I'd keep the 911. I've probably just
keep it as my rally car. I think it's a pretty good like all rounder for rally car and then
just add to the collection. Keep it black. Sure. Dang, why not dude says why not you're

something. Yeah, I just let it wrap it. It'll be it'll be that C for us. Why would I sell it at
that point? I know I know if you have my warehouse is huge dude. My my garage on like my subterranean

when you sell a car, it's like you're either completely 100 percent over it, which is fine
can happen or like you need the space and or the money and like in these in this instance,
like, you know, if these we all like these cars, we have room and we don't need the money. So
yeah, might as well just keep it around and keep iterating and fine tuning it. Yeah. Oh,
I talked to you guys at a CBR motors about it, but I did. I have project car updates dude.
Oh, yeah, let's I replaced a little. Oh, yeah, project car update. I've repenced a mere switch
knob. It's $12 I think and that was very satisfying because the old one was falling off
and then I replaced the little light cover for the e-brake and the breakware pad wear sensors
because that was correct. Like half of it only half of it was there. So you had like the
you know, you could see the light behind it and everything. It was like, so I replaced that
dude. It was a it was a altogether. I'd say a 30 second job, but so satisfying. Like how about
time versus satisfaction, the most satisfying job in the world. If you look at it that way,
yeah, it was awesome and now it's like and I think like my mindset is like every time you
get in the car, I look down that that piece is missing. Like I don't know when it happened. It
just like fell off one day and I don't even know where the piece is, but you see that and then
you go to adjust the mirror and the thing falls off in your hand and you're like,
like it's like if I just keep, if you let that stuff perpetuate it, like then you have like 30
things wrong with the car and you're kind of, you know, it's like it's nice to stay up on that.
Especially when it's available for, you know, $12 or whatever it is. Like those are nice.
That's a good thing about Porsche, right? Like it was tough for the mighty, mighty max, you know,
that just didn't really exist for the mighty max. So that's why ultimately I sold it. Well,

What if I went Alcantara Lane? Oh yeah, that probably better and that's better. It doesn't
stretch. It's not natural. It's not going to like right. It's a synthetic material. Also,
it's great for, because I have an Alcantara dash mat right now or Pat or whatever. And it's great
because it's not, you know, no glare with that. You got to go mouse fur. We all know this. You

It was a Maserati 430. Oh yeah. It's essentially like a five series competitor. I guess it would
have been. It's a four door, huh? Four door sedan with like very little Maserati to it. It's high
upright sedan. This is the nicest one in the world. And I was a J-land. But it kind of looked like a
it's a bi turbo with four doors, right? Like a bi turbo. Yeah, exactly. But it doesn't have like
any real flair to it other than like the grill is Maserati. And if you like cover the grill,
you would, it would be hard to tell what kind of car it's like a bird tone. It probably is
buried Tony design too, but it's like a bird Tony Volvo, like the Volvo 780. It's more Volvo.
Exactly. It's got a really squared off trunk. No flair to it. No fender flares. No, like
anyways, that thing, it was probably the nicest one in the world. We talked to, I was with J-lam
and we talked to the guy for a while and the story was funny. Like he bought it knowing nothing.
He's an Alfa or Mayo guy, but he ended up loving this car and found it on bring a trailer.
It like had bounced back on bring a trailer. Like someone bought it and then listed it again.
I think it was $12,000 for the nicest one in the world. And this thing was flawless.
Cool car, but it did. It had a blue suede dash,
like stitched alternating color. Like it was like a tan very gray and then a blue dash on the main
part, which was flawless. Perfect. Damn, but I would check this thing out. It was cool. It was
a weird ass car, like really strange, but he was stoked and did not. He seemed more of like a
surfer kind of like whatever guy to the point where you kind of remind me of our buddy beamer
lover and we just like, yeah, I'm like, I got a Milano and a GTV six, but this thing popped up
and I was like, yeah, I guess I'll get it. And then he's like, yeah, he's like, you know what
I'm like, he's like Pete that Pete Davidson character. He's like, that's cool. Yeah. That's
cool. Right. I like it. Sounds good. Yeah. I love that one. He was trying to explain like the car
is good. It drives great, but like I just really had trouble passing smog. Jay and I were like,
you don't say imagine that. Oh dude. I got my car smog last week. That's right. I saw the pic
easy dude. How much did you have to bribe him? Nothing dude. Hundred bucks. It's all good. Sweet.
That's a good feeling. Yeah. Did you have any trepidation as you dropped it off? I mean,
I think you always do, right? Well, I always do now. She's and of course I made the appointment
to start raining and I was like, like it's not going to pass in the rain, but no, my car was clean.
So I was like, I got a good drive, but and I took it for a drive just to get hot. You know,
I didn't want to like, I wanted to get it hot and stuff, but then they have to test it hot.
Like that's the one thing you get a hot and then they just say, oh, we'll get to it in half an hour.
And they put it on quick. Good. Or it seemed like, I mean, because I got the car back,
they called me within 30 minutes. So of me dropping it off. Nice. Pick it up. Yeah. But I
just, I drove it up Branson 40 and did that whole thing. Again, past super easy. It was great.
And the, you know, the numbers look good. Dude, that's a, that's great. And are you running
like a, just a stock cat? Stock cat. Yeah. Sweet. It's all stock. Yeah. That's great. That's great.
I mean, that's been my experience with the van again. It's just, yeah, old car, but still,
still all good. Yeah. The Maserati and then that Shirakos super rat. Dude, I didn't get a good
look at that thing. That's amazing. I left right before, I think right as I was pulling in.
There was a good hang. What do you think about this lane? If we do this again,
putting the band over in the Seabright social parking lot to draw, I know
that could be the call, dude, because I know I like where you have line of sight down the
driver to the back there. No, I like it. I've been trying to figure out a way to like draw
people over there because I do the cool thing is that it is cool to use the days parking lot
because it's so exposed to like the neighborhood. I love that. But I think using both and like
utilizing more of the Seabright social parking lot because it is big and it has tons of spots in
the back and right now Seabright social is closed. So you have it to yourself and it's like way like
more of a chill hang and the Java junction owners like super into it too. So he was at the show
and he came up to me and was like, oh, it's so awesome. So stoked on it. He actually has a Rolls
Royce Corniche, I think down at his Palm Springs house, he said, which he's been had forever.
And he drives when he's down there, like repainted and stuff like whatever. And then he drives that
R 129 or is it R 129 cab? You know the R 129 that's always the gold one. So yeah. And then,
but I don't know the support of that whole neighborhood. Like they're all super into it.
It's rad. I know even like the days market guy, which doesn't come off as a car guy at all. He
was like very much taking pictures and then someone parked and he's like, oh, don't don't park here
for a long time. Okay. Like yeah, he was telling us he saw kick anyone out the parks here. We're
like, okay, we want to like give you business. Exactly. Yeah. Yeah. And he's like, it's fine.
But I did ask him, I asked the other, the dude that works there when I went back, you know,
at the end of the day, I went in there and I asked the guy that works there and I'm like,
how is it? Did it like, you know, you guys have a lot of business. He's like, oh yeah,
tons of business. Oh, good. So and then I noticed like Betty burger out of line out the door.
The deli was super popular. Yeah. I know it's good. Well, that was Tramonte people were doing
like the Tramonte, like hang out on the patio, grab a beer kind of thing.

is like something like Porsche would do for for hurry would do, right? I mean, or like some really
shitty company that like yeah. Well, we just saw this with Bugatti, right? They're doing it with
the Veyron. So they that's right. Updating Veyrons. Is it that idea like up? Like is it externally
too or just componentry both? Oh, so this is like a paid thing. It's not a take a full. Yeah,
yeah. You can send it back to Honda and they will upgrade it NSX new NSX. Is that a good guess?

Uh, no prices were listed, but new Honda jet elite S or S twos
start at about $5 million used models can be found from a 2.5 to 3.5 if you have to ask. So
so it looks like the late nineties was the first of them. So that's what we're talking about.
Yeah. So they just made a lot of these jets too. You can get like stole packages and
upgraded jets and, you know, certain de-icing equipment and stuff retrofitted, of course,
but this is from Honda, which is still weird. Honda makes a jet. That is weird. We see them
at motor looks because it's the same guy that comes from Honda and displays this Honda jet.
So they're still trying to sell, they still sell them. And it says that they've only made
or like delivered 259 by the end of 2024, 259 Honda jets total. Where, where do they make them?

how many citations are they selling? Because that's the direct competitor, right?
