The MAP sensor tells the car’s computer how much air is going into the engine. If it fails, the car may run poorly.

Technical Definition

The MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor measures the pressure inside the intake manifold to help the engine control unit adjust fuel delivery and ignition timing.
